✧ how to reinvent yourself without deleting everything this summer ✧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hey lovelies!! WELCOME TO SUMMER! so i've been obsessing over this idea of reinvention lately... like literally woke up at 3am last night to jot down notes in my phone because my brain wouldn't stop thinking about it?? summer always feels like this dreamy little pocket of time where anything is possible... where you can try on different versions of yourself between iced matcha lattes and sunset walks.
i know we've all been there... that moment when you're scrolling through pinterest at midnight and suddenly you're like "what if i just... became someone else??" (guilty of creating entire secret boards dedicated to my "french girl era" that never actually happened lmao). but the thing is, completely starting over is exhausting?? and honestly kind of impossible unless you're in a witness protection program??
so this post is for my girls who want that reinvention feeling without the whole dramatic disappearing act. because honestly? the you that exists right now is already pretty magical, we're just gonna help her shine in some new ways.
✧ why gentle reinvention just hits different ✧
i had this realization while reorganizing my bookshelf last week (yes, for the third time this month, don't judge me) the most interesting characters aren't the ones who completely transform overnight. they're the ones who slowly evolve, keeping their essence while discovering new facets of themselves.
like, remember in "emma" when she realizes she's been in love with mr. knightley the whole time?? she didn't become a different person, she just finally understood something that was already there. that's the kind of reinvention i'm talking about: the recognition, not rejection, of who you are.
✧ actually magical reinvention tips that feel like character development ✧
digital presence evolution (without the cringe factor)
• create a finsta where you post the aesthetic you're curious about but not ready to commit to (mine started as dark academia but somehow evolved into cottagecore with a side of astrology memes??)
• change your social media bios to describe who you're becoming, not who you've been
• make an email signature that makes you feel like the main character (mine has a tiny moon emoji that literally no one has commented on but makes me happy every time)
• curate a new spotify playlist with songs that feel like your "becoming" soundtrack (tip: add one new song every morning as a little ritual)
• start ending your texts with a new sign-off or emoji (i switched from "x" to "✨" and now my friends get worried if i don't include the sparkle)
• take selfies from a completely different angle than your usual (overhead instead of straight-on changed my LIFE)
tiny identity shifts that nobody notices but YOU
• give a slightly different name at starbucks, not completely different, just a variation that feels like an alter ego (i use "amelia" which is my middle name and it feels like slipping into another dimension for 5 minutes)
• create a secret signature scent combination by layering two perfumes you already own (vanilla + something citrusy has main character energy, trust me)
• change your handwriting slightly, make your y's loopier or dot your i's differently (sounds so minor but feels so intentional)
• develop a subtle personal symbol and incorporate it places only you would notice (i draw tiny stars on the corners of important journal pages)
• start carrying something unexpected in your bag that represents your new era (i have a tiny rose quartz crystal that literally no one knows about)
• choose a "power color" you don't usually wear and incorporate it somewhere small every day (even just as a hair tie or phone background)
space magic that costs zero dollars
• rearrange your room based on the energy you want to create (bed facing the window changed my sleep quality so much??)
• create a tiny altar/intention space somewhere private with objects that represent who you're becoming
• switch up where you do everyday activities (i started doing my skincare routine by the window instead of the bathroom and it feels like a whole spa moment)
• change the scent of your space. different candles, incense, or even just boiling cinnamon sticks on the stove
• put up photos from a completely different phase of your life than what you usually display
• rearrange your books by color or theme instead of author (my shelf organized by "books that made me cry" vs "books that changed my mind" feels so personal)
• sleep on the opposite side of the bed or with your head where your feet usually go (literally changes your dreams, i swear)
style whispers that feel like screams
• start wearing your hair in a completely new way just one day a week (slicked back bun on tuesdays has become apart of my routine)
• change where you wear your everyday jewelry. ankle bracelet instead of wrist, rings on different fingers
• try "dopamine dressing" where you wear something purely because the color makes you happy, not because it "goes" with anything
• experiment with makeup placement rather than buying new products (blush higher on cheekbones or across nose bridge instead of apples of cheeks feels revolutionary)
• wear the "special occasion" clothes on random weekdays
• try to add one unexpected accessory to elevate basic outfits (a silky scarf tied on your bag handle)
• match your nail color to your current emotional goal rather than your outfit (blues for calm, reds for confidence)
routine alchemy that changes everything
• take a completely different route home, even if it's longer
• switch when you shower AND the temperature (night showers ending with 30 seconds of cold water changed my sleep quality)
• read the last page of a book first before starting it (chaotic energy but changes how you perceive the story)
• change where you sit in every familiar setting... different spot on the couch, different chair at the dining table
• set alarms for weird specific times (9:43 instead of 9:45) so you actually notice them
relationship refreshers that feel magical
• respond to texts with voice memos if you usually type (this transformed my friendship with my long-distance bestie)
• ask people completely different questions than usual ("what made you smile today?" instead of "how was your day?")
• suggest a different type of hangout than your usual (art gallery instead of coffee shop, sunrise instead of brunch)
• share something slightly vulnerable if you're usually private (i told my friend about my secret passion for astrology and now we have the best conversations about it)
• write actual handwritten notes to people instead of texting
• create little rituals with friends that feel special
• be the first to suggest plans if you usually wait for others (this tiny shift literally expanded my social circle overnight)
mindset magic that costs nothing
• choose a new word to eliminate from your vocabulary (i stopped saying "sorry" before asking questions)
• pick a new word to deliberately use more (i've been using "delightful" instead of "cool" and it makes ordinary things feel magical)
• create a secret personal holiday that only you celebrate (i have "manuscript monday" where i work on my secret novel for just 20 minutes)
• start a collection of something weird and specific (i collect interesting sugar packets from cafes and it makes every coffee shop visit feel like a treasure hunt + i get to discover new food brands).
i literally started taking a different route to my morning coffee last month and ended up discovering this tiny bookstore that's now my favorite place?? sometimes the smallest detours lead to the biggest discoveries.
the most interesting people aren't completely different versions of themselves every season. they're just constantly evolving.
xoxo, mindy 🤍
p.s. make sure to rest this summer, you're gonna need it <3

Me and my momma's guide to chronic migraines:
1. Have different pain medicines on hand (Advil, Aleve, Excedrin, Ibuprofen, painquil [am and pm], Tylenol [extra strength, fast release, pm])
2. Switch them!!! Take Advil one hour and then take Aleve the next and so on and so forth or take Advil one day and then Tylenol the next, it'll help mitigate the damage to your body from constantly taking medication.
3. If it hurts really bad take the fast release Tylenol and Excedrin (2 of each) and either lay down or watch a low interest movie (types of comfort movie). For us these would be The Princess and The Frog, Nightmare Before Christmas, the live action Alice in Wonderland, Brave, Tangled, and The Emperor's New Groove.
4. Don't use just pain medicine, do some chores and small things to try and get yourself distracted from the pain, it hurts more if you think about it.
5. Cuddle with your cat! Cat purrs have a frequency that is both physically and emotionally healing so love those kitties!
6. Something my therapist taught me is that counter stimulation might help but it might not and it takes a bit for it to kick in. So minty gum, super sour snacks or candies, super salty foods, super sweet foods, cold or hot, all might help your migraine if you focus on the sensations!
7. Textures! Lots of textures! In my experience ones that feel weird but that you enjoy are more likely to help you not hurt as it keeps you busy while you enjoy something.
8. Stay hydrated! Water will significantly help your headaches.
And last but not least:
9. It is okay to have to lay down in a completely dark room with only white noise. It is okay to not be able to eat anything other than a smoothie or only water during your headache. It is okay that you can't do much when you're in extreme pain. Don't feel bad because someone says you should be able to do things, everyone has their own limitations and you know yours.

Realities Of RV Living
I feel this needs to be discussed as sadly it may become more of an option for many people as the cost of living increases. I want to provide a realistic look into this life. Unless you are well off with a luxury RV, what you typically see on social media is not even close to reality.
Traveling and Long Term RV Parks
Ask about rates monthly and compare multiple parks. Make sure to ask if the rate is the same all year long. Also, ask if utilities are included. You can save a lot of money by not having to pay electricity. Some parks don't have one of the main hookups, so make sure eletricity, water and septic are all available.
This is only good when you have a new properly functioning RV. When you live in something older and in bad shape, it means a broken part, packing up your entire life, and finding a new park friendly to long-term stay. I've moved 3 times in 2 and a half years.
The first RV park was $750 a month plus electricity ($100 in summer $200 in winter) and had multiple times were we were without power or had no use of our septic. Many of the times without power it was single digits or in the negatives. We got 120 inches of snow and had to make a homemade rv skirt of a tarp and pack the snow like an igloo around the rv to stay warm.
The second RV park was $350 plus electricity ($150 summer). This park was more affordable but had a lot more issues. Our neighbor had frequent septic issues and we often had it leak onto our rv space. We also were next to the septic for the whole park. So basically the smell of shit was ever present. It got to 110 F here and we basically ran the AC until it broke as heat exhaustion always felt right around the corner.
Third park arguably the nicest park is $550 utilities included only catch is $1200 a month in summer months. (No I don't live in a high value area either most of the town and houses are literally abandoned). It's a franchise park and the owner isn't even supposed to offer long term but deals with it for the insane price he gets in summer. I haven't had issues with electricity or other people's sewage here. Basically one good employment place here and my fiancé gets retirement, so that made it worth the move.
Extreme cold
Frozen septic and frozen water lines are a huge and common issue, especially in older, less insulated models. You can put insulation around the pipes and drip water all you want its going to happen if it's cold enough. So get comfortable with the idea of taking warm buckets of water and a rag to your septic pipe and pouring warm water down into your septic. A smell you will never forget ❤️.
Insulating the rv is very important from being almost 3 years in. Here's the best way to avoid hypothermia. Get R-tech insulation board and stuff it into your windows then cover it up with a blanket. Put this behind your pillows as well so heat can stay in the bed area. Find pre-owned carpets and cut them to fit in your rv so the floor remains warmer. Get socks or cozy slippers to wear most of winter. Your floor will most likely never be a comfortable warm and you may be at risk of hypothermia depending on tempature. Dress in layers put on two pants a shirt and a sweater and socks and slippers. If you need to gloves and a hat as well. Put a blanket over your door. Making a rv skirt out of a tarp and super gluing velcro to the tarp and rv can be useful. Use concrete blocks to hold down the ends. Depending on wind speed this can be hard to keep in place though.
As much as this may sound like a joke it's currently saving me. Xbox 360 consoles make ALOT of heat if you run a DVD that replays itself in the background all night it will warm your sleeping area. If I die I will fade out to the Do The Mario theme song I guess 🥲.
Extreme Heat
Just pump up your AC and have alot of ice packs and cold water. This is going to suck and may kill your AC. The smell oh god the smell will make you want to die. Your septic will boil in the heat and make BAD soup. Less things will break on your RV than extreme cold.
Mail
If your RV park doesn't allow you to get mail at the park its going to suck ass. PO Boxes are the most annoying things on earth. UPS and certain FedEx mail will not deliver to them. Most companies will not ship to them. Even if they say they do. You will often get packages shipped all the way to your post office only for them to be rejected and sent back to the seller. The crapiness is exemplified if you live in a very rural area like I do. Just ship to a family member and pay them to ship it to you in a USPS box only!
RV Common Issues
Too high of water pressure
Get a pressure gage/regulator a park with to high of pressure can cause your lines to burst
Electricity Surges
Get a surge protector a bad surge with no protector can permanently fry your eletricial system. The protector saved me on a bad surge that literally set my plug on fire 🔥.
Eletricity Constriants
Older 30 amps don't have much power. Depending on the appliances you may have to choose to use one at a time. Want to use the heater and your Ninja to cook? Well, enjoy tripping your breaker. In fact just get comfortable with your breaker you'll be spending alot of time with it as you figure out what appliances aren't friends.
Septic
You will spend way to much time with your septic. Whether it be unfreezing, unclogging, general emptying or trying to find a product that doesn't harm it but keeps the smell down during hot summers. Get Scott thousand ply tiolet paper or just cheap thin tiolet paper. It's very similar to the rv specific tiolet paper and way less money.
Water
Pex pipes are cool and easy to repair replace your lines with them. With cold your water lines of course have the chance to freeze or burst. Keep them insulated and use the warm water wash cloth method to unfreeze. Just make sure not to leave wash cloths on the pipes for to long or they will also freeze.
Propane
Please please please check your models history with propane if you plan on using it. Some were built with manufacturing issues that cause them to blow up. There's not many left of my model due to this. It also means I have no central heating or use of the oven.
Laundry
If your park has a laundry mat awesome but this not usually the case. Locate your nearest laundry mat and take that into consideration when looking for a park.

Important Life Tips
1) You are ALLOWED to CHANGE YOUR MIND about anything
- it’s your mind, you can.
2) OTHER PEOPLE are ALSO allowed to CHANGE THEIR MINDS about anything
- it’s their minds. they can.
People who CHANGE THEIR MINDS about something after obtaining NEW INFORMATION about said thing (or not), are NOT flaky/indecisive/fake/lying/whatever the hell you wanna call them.

How to download your complete AO3 history
In case you're looking for a way to download your complete A03 history (not the text of the fics themselves, just the info that is listed on your history page), here is the method I used:
Make sure you’re using Firefox as your browser (because of the next step, but also because it’s better than Chrome).
(From Reddit:) "Use this add on to load all the history pages on the same page, hold the pagedown button down for a few minutes or weigh it down with an object. It takes a few minutes or more to load them in, then you can Ctrl+f for keywords. I would recommend to not do 1000 pages at a time, not all computers can handle that I wager." https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pagezipper/
Download the beta version of this. You can use the stable version, but it brings a lot less information from each fic. https://random.fangirling.net/scripts/ao3_works_stats
Now you can sort, search, etc. your spreadsheet however you’d like 😊

🕶 she ghosted the groupchat & built an empire
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hey lovelies!! ✨
so i've been thinking about this a lot lately... like how we're all constantly connected but somehow feeling more drained than ever?? and it hit me that sometimes the most revolutionary thing you can do is just... disappear for a bit??
i literally had to turn my phone off for three days last month because my creative energy was being sucked dry by all these group chats that were going nowhere. like, bestie, why am i reading 87 messages about someone's ex's cousin's new haircut when i could be building my dream life instead??
so here's my unfiltered thoughts on strategic isolation + how it literally changed everything for me...
✧ protecting your energy isn't selfish, it's essential ✧
let's be honest - we're all just walking energy fields. and every notification, every "hey girl, you free?" text, every random zoom call is either feeding your field or draining it. i started tracking my energy levels in this little pink journal (yes, elle woods style but make it productive) and noticed that certain people and activities were literally vampire-draining me.
some hard truths about protecting your time:
• not everyone deserves access to you
• "sorry, i can't" is a complete sentence
• your dreams require your full attention
• boundaries aren't mean, they're necessary
• your future self will thank you for saying no today
i started implementing what i call "ghost protocols" where i literally just... stop responding for periods of time. not forever! just long enough to recalibrate. it feels uncomfortable at first (i literally had anxiety sweats) but then something magical happens - you remember who you are without all the noise.
✧ digital detox rituals that actually work ✧
okay so everyone talks about digital detoxes but they make it sound so basic like "just turn off your phone lol" which... no. here's what actually works:
1. schedule your disappearance (sounds dramatic but it's just good planning) - i block off "ghost time" in my calendar just like i would a meeting
2. create a hyperfocus sanctuary - mine is this corner of my room with no wifi, just candles, my journal, and a vintage alarm clock. no devices allowed within 10 feet.
3. implement the 5/1/3 rule - for every 5 hours of deep work, allow 1 hour of connection, followed by 3 hours of integration time where you process what you've created
4. batch your responses - i only check messages twice daily now (12pm and 6pm) and i use templates for most replies which sounds cold but actually gives me more energy for meaningful conversations later
5. practice saying "that doesn't work for me" without explaining yourself - hardest thing i've ever done but most rewarding
✧ hyperfocus rituals that built my empire ✧
the truth that nobody tells you is that success isn't grinding 24/7... it's protecting your focus like it's the most precious resource on earth (because it literally is).
my non-negotiable focus rituals:
• morning pages but make them strategic - i write 3 pages about my vision every morning before touching my phone
• the 90/30 method - work in complete silence for 90 minutes, then take a luxurious 30 minute break (no exceptions)
• environment switching - i have different spaces for different types of work (creative work happens by the window, admin work at my desk, planning happens on the floor with a giant paper)
• sensory anchors - learned this from a few psychology articles online, stayed w/ it foreverrr -> specific scents, sounds, and tastes that tell my brain "it's empire building time" (for me it's this fancy bergamot candle + instrumental lo-fi + earl grey tea)
i know this all sounds intense but listen... while everyone was busy commenting on instagram posts and overthinking text messages, i built something real. something that matters. something that's mine.
sometimes the most rebellious thing you can do is disconnect in order to connect more deeply with your purpose. and yes, people might get annoyed when you don't respond right away. they might even talk about you in those same group chats you left. but honestly? that's just background noise when you're focused on building something meaningful.
your time is literally the only non-renewable resource you have. protect it fiercely.
xoxo, mindy 🤍
p.s. what's one conversation or obligation you could ghost this week to get closer to your dreams? i promise the world won't end... but your empire might just begin.
⋆ psst. i made a free workbook just for you. it’s soft, dark-academia, and full of real advice. get it here: deprogramming your trauma-coded ambition

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ fall back in love with yourself
hey loves! it’s summertime and I’m finished exams so i’m back and happier than ever! i wanted to write this post about falling back in love with ourselves, more importantly our own company. many of us find boredom when our friends are away and can’t be with us, but why be that way? you don’t need others to find enjoyment, instead find that in yourself, summer is the perfect time to do so, go to a café, explore your city (you never know what you could find), go to a library or an art gallery, anything! the world is your oyster and no one can tell you what to do because the person you’re spending time with is you! so fall back in love with you, your strengths, your flaws, fall in love with it all!
take me for an example, none of my amazing friends could hang out today so i went out myself! i went to an art gallery and looked at some art, discovering a new favourite piece! now im sitting here in a gorgeous little cafè that i never would’ve discovered if i hadn’t gone out to explore, with no one saying i couldn’t. though i love spending time with my friends, being alone can be just as fun!
when you hear that belief that “summer is the time to spend time around the people you love”, while that belief true, in the ‘people you love’ demographic should also include you!
leave requests in my drop box babies (or secrets i’m overjoyed to read either) and i’ll post more soon! (next time maybe or maybe not from a random parisian café!)
XOXO, A
