What is a Swimming Pool AMC and Why Is It a Smart Investment?
Swimming pools are a great source of relaxation, recreation, and luxury. But owning a pool also comes with a responsibility—ongoing maintenance. If you're not familiar with the term, a Swimming Pool AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) is a smart, worry-free solution to ensure your pool stays safe, clean, and in perfect working condition.
Understanding the Basics: What is a Pool AMC?
A Swimming Pool AMC is a yearly service agreement between you and a pool maintenance provider. The goal? To make sure your pool is regularly cleaned, chemically balanced, and mechanically sound—without you having to manage it all yourself.
What's Included in a Typical Pool AMC?
Depending on the service provider, an AMC plan can include:
Routine cleaning – removing debris, scrubbing walls and floors, vacuuming
Chemical treatment – testing and adjusting pH, chlorine, and other water balance metrics
Equipment checks – monitoring pumps, filters, heaters, and lights
Minor repairs and part replacements
Monthly reports and maintenance logs
Emergency support, depending on your package
Some advanced AMC plans may also offer energy efficiency audits or pool automation support.
Why Opt for a Swimming Pool AMC?
1. Consistent Water Quality
Fluctuations in chemical balance can lead to murky water, algae growth, or skin irritation. Professionals ensure your water is always clean and safe.
2. Prevents Expensive Repairs
Regular checks help identify wear and tear early. Replacing a faulty gasket is much cheaper than fixing a burnt-out motor.
3. Increases Property Value
A sparkling, well-maintained pool adds aesthetic and market value to your property.
4. Saves Time & Energy
No more running to buy pool chemicals or spending your Sunday scrubbing tiles. Let the experts handle it.
5. Peace of Mind
An AMC ensures your pool is always in good hands—even when you're away from home for an extended period.
How to Choose the Right AMC Provider
Here are a few things to look for before signing up:
Do they offer customized plans based on pool size and usage?
Are their technicians certified and trained?
Is their customer support reliable and responsive?
Do they provide detailed reports after each visit?
Final Thoughts
A Swimming Pool AMC is not just a maintenance plan—it’s a long-term investment in the life of your pool and the enjoyment of everyone who uses it. Whether you own a private villa, manage an apartment complex, or run a hospitality business, an AMC ensures your pool is one less thing to worry about.

Swimming Pool Safety: The Importance of Regular Water Testing

Having a pool at home is a luxury that brings fun and relaxation for the entire family. But along with enjoyment comes the responsibility of keeping the water clean and safe. Proper pool hygiene isn't just about appearance—it’s essential to prevent waterborne diseases and infections. This is where regular water testing and professional inspections, such as those available in Epping, VIC, play a crucial role.
Why Pool Water Testing Matters
A backyard pool can quickly become a breeding ground for bacteria, algae, and insects if not properly maintained. Poor sanitation, unbalanced pH levels, and inadequate water circulation can all contribute to contamination. Water testing allows you to detect issues before they become serious, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable swimming environment.
Signs Your Pool Water May Be Contaminated
Recognizing early signs of water issues can help you act quickly:
Cloudy water: Indicates possible chemical imbalance or the presence of contaminants.
Strong odour: A strong chemical or unpleasant smell may signal poor water quality.
Algae growth: Green or slimy patches are clear signs of contamination.
Key Elements to Test in Pool Water
During routine maintenance or a professional pool inspection in Epping, the following elements are typically tested:
pH Level (7.2–7.6): Ensures the water is neither too acidic nor too alkaline.
Chlorine (1–3 ppm): Destroys bacteria and algae; too little is ineffective, too much can irritate skin and eyes.
Total Alkalinity (80–120 ppm): Stabilizes pH and prevents large swings.
Calcium Hardness (200–400 ppm): Prevents damage to pool surfaces and equipment.
Cyanuric Acid (30–50 ppm): Protects chlorine from UV degradation.
Tips to Keep Your Pool Safe
Regular Cleaning: Remove debris and clean filters regularly to maintain water clarity.
Use Pool Chemicals Wisely: Always follow instructions—more is not always better.
Install a Pool Cover: Helps keep out debris and reduces chemical evaporation.
Chlorinate Periodically: Regular dosing helps keep bacteria and algae at bay.
The Role of Professional Pool Inspections
While home testing is useful, professional building and pool inspections in Epping provide a more comprehensive evaluation. Experts can assess structural integrity, check for equipment faults, and ensure compliance with Victorian Building Authority (VBA) safety standards. These inspections can also uncover hidden issues like leaks or electrical hazards.
How Often Should You Test?
Ideally, test your pool water once a week, and after heavy rain, storms, or periods of high usage. For complete peace of mind, schedule a professional inspection at least once a year with certified experts who can thoroughly evaluate both water quality and pool safety.
Maintaining your pool doesn’t just enhance your swimming experience—it protects your health, investment, and peace of mind.

3. Minimize Heat Styling
Excessive use of heat tools can shorten the effects of the treatment.

Pool Cleaning Abu Dhabi: Tips to Keep Your Pool Crystal Clear
Having a swimming pool in Abu Dhabi is a luxury that comes with a lot of perks—cool dips during scorching summers, a relaxing spot for family gatherings, or even a picturesque backdrop for your home. But let’s face it: keeping your pool water crystal clear and safe isn’t as effortless as it looks. Regular maintenance is key, and for those who want the ultimate hassle-free experience, relying on the best pool cleaning Abu Dhabi services can make all the difference.
If you prefer to handle the cleaning yourself or want to understand how professionals achieve sparkling results, here are some essential tips to maintain a pristine pool.
1. Skim and Remove Debris Daily
One of the simplest ways to keep your pool clean is by skimming the surface every day. Falling leaves, insects, and dust can quickly accumulate, especially in Abu Dhabi’s windy and sandy environment. Letting debris sit too long can clog your filters or sink to the bottom, making it harder to clean later.
A quick five-minute skim with a net can prevent major cleaning headaches. However, if you’re dealing with constant debris or don’t have the time, hiring the best pool cleaning Abu Dhabi professionals ensures that this task is handled for you regularly.
2. Brush and Vacuum the Pool
Even if the water looks clear, dirt and grime can cling to your pool walls, floor, and steps. Over time, this buildup can lead to stains and algae growth. Brushing the walls and vacuuming the bottom at least once a week can help prevent this.
For large pools or pools with stubborn algae, the best pool cleaning Abu Dhabi services use advanced tools like robotic pool vacuums and specialized brushes to ensure no spot is missed. They’ll leave your pool looking flawless with minimal effort on your part.
3. Maintain Proper Chemical Levels
Chemical balance is critical for keeping your pool water clear and safe for swimming. Too much chlorine can irritate your skin and eyes, while too little can allow bacteria and algae to thrive. The key is to regularly test and adjust your pool’s pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels.
The ideal pH level should range between 7.2 and 7.8. You can use test kits available in stores or, better yet, rely on the best pool cleaning Abu Dhabi experts to handle the balancing act for you. Professionals can also provide advanced water testing to spot any hidden chemical imbalances.
4. Keep Your Filters Clean
Your pool’s filtration system works tirelessly to remove dirt and particles from the water. But when the filters become clogged, they can’t do their job properly. Make sure to clean the filter basket weekly and backwash the system as needed to maintain optimal performance.
If you’re unsure about filter maintenance, many of the best pool cleaning Abu Dhabi companies offer specialized filter cleaning as part of their routine services. This keeps your system running efficiently and prevents costly repairs down the line.
5. Shock Your Pool When Needed
Even with regular maintenance, there are times when your pool water may look dull or cloudy, especially after heavy use or a sandstorm. Shocking the pool—adding a concentrated dose of chlorine—can eliminate contaminants and restore water clarity.
You don’t need to shock your pool every week, but doing so once a month or after a big gathering can make a huge difference. If you’re not confident about how to do this, let the best pool cleaning Abu Dhabi specialists handle it for you. They’ll know exactly when and how to perform this treatment.

How To Remove Chlorine From Skin After Swimming

How To Remove Chlorine From Skin After Swimming
A. How To Reduce The Chlorine Smell After Swimming?
Many swimmers ask about it, so we decided to share with you some tips on how to remove chlorine odor from your body and hair after a swimming session. The odor comes from chlorine and chloramines applied to the skin and, in fact, there are many ways to get rid of them.
1. Hot bath right after swimming
Immediately after leaving the pool, take a hot shower and simply wash your hair and skin with regular soap or shower gel. Also, give your hair a conditioner. In 99% of cases, it is enough to get rid of the smell and feel comfortable when leaving the pool. If that’s not enough, keep reading, as we still have some ideas for you!
2. Vitamin C
Vitamin C naturally neutralizes chlorine and eliminates odor. The question is how best to use this? For fans of home remedies, we recommend lemon juice – just squeeze a lemon and dilute it with water (1: 4 ratio), apply to the body and let it dry. Another form is vitamin C crystals, which can also be diluted with water. Either method should work, but if you don’t want to take too long, you can use lotions and shampoo products as well.
3. Always wear a swimming cap
This is one of the easiest ways to comb your hair in the pool and will naturally keep it dry and away from the smell of chlorine. It also protects some types of hair from discoloration.
4. Wet your hair before a swimming workout
This is an additional tip to the previous one. To prevent your hair from absorbing chlorine in the pool, you can rinse your hair in the shower before entering the pool.
5. Swimming pools with ultraviolet light and ozone
This is our final and definitive tip – if you are struggling to get rid of the chlorine smell, you can also look for a pool that keeps the water clean without using chlorine. What should be looked for are pools with ozone or ultraviolet light – the latter do not use chemicals to clean the water.
6. Measure your swimming with the Swimmo training watch
Knowledge is the key to becoming a winner. Find out more with Swimmo. Swimmo is a next generation smart swimming watch. Monitor your swimming. Set goals to stay on track. Swim smarter with IntensityCoach ™, PaceKeeper ™ and heart rate monitors.
B. Skin Care For Swimmers: Everything You Wanted To Know About Getting Chlorine Off Of Your Body
Goodbye Chlorine manufactures anti-chlorine products for swimmers’ hair and skin. Click here to see our entire product line or shopping guide.
1. What is a good soap to remove chlorine from the skin?
Look for soaps with two properties:
They are made for swimmers and contain chlorine-removing ingredients.
Moisturizer. A good soap is rich in glycerin, which helps keep your skin hydrated.
Chlorine dries and you need to remove it after swimming. Find a soap that neutralizes chlorine and moisturizes your skin. This is the best possible combination. See our soaps here.
2. What is a good liquid soap for swimmers?
The mildest and most moisturizing products allow a good facial wash. If you like using soap, our handmade soaps are great. If you prefer liquid soap, try our shower gel.
3. Why is it important to remove all chlorine from the skin after swimming?
Chlorine dries and damages the skin. The health benefits of chlorine pools are indisputable, but leaving chlorine on your skin after swimming is irritating. In people with sensitive skin, this residual chlorine can cause itchiness or a rash (commonly known as a “rash with chlorine”).
4. How do I remove the chlorine smell from the skin?
The smell of chlorine on your skin is actually residual chlorine that remains on your skin after swimming. You need to remove the chlorine to remove the odor. This is more difficult than it looks because chlorine is a difficult way to stay around. Use a product that removes chlorine, such as our liquid swimmer soap.
5. What is the best chlorine neutralizing soap?
Look for soaps made with special ingredients to neutralize chlorine. Our soaps and shower gel remove chlorine after bathing. It really comes down to a preference between soap and shower gel. We find it easier to get shower gel at the pool and using soap at home between baths is the most convenient solution.
6. How do you not smell of chlorine after swimming?
The smell of chlorine long after you swim is evidence that there is still chlorine in your body. To avoid the smell of chlorine, chlorine must be removed after bathing. Use products like anti-chlorine shower gel to remove chlorine after a swim.
C. How to Keep Chlorine From Wrecking Your Hair, Skin, and Swimsuit
When the temperature rises, I want a refreshing dip in the pool. Swimming is by far my favorite summer activity. One thing I don’t like about swimming is chlorine. Each product we offer has been independently selected and verified by our editorial team. If you make a purchase using the included links, we may receive a commission. When the temperature rises, I want a refreshing dip in the pool. Swimming is by far my favorite summer activity. It’s a full-body workout that makes joints easier and makes me slimmer, healthier and more active.
One thing I don’t like about swimming is chlorine. If I’m not careful, my skin can be red and itchy and my hair can be dry and brittle. As I swim almost every day during the summer, chlorine also tears and fades my bathing suits long before the end of the season. In addition, I am currently concerned with damaging my freshly dyed hair. So I did some research and tested products to see what really worked. This I learned.
1. Choose a hair product
Chlorine is used as a disinfectant to kill harmful bacteria in the water. This prevents you from getting E. coli and other nasty germs, but it also removes the natural oils that protect your hair from damage and daily wear and tear. Since I don’t want my hair to turn into hay, I learned to coat my hair with hair products before jumping into the pool. Oil and silicone based products are the best. I used silicone-based hair serum to calm frizzy hair and protect hair from heat. Another option is coconut oil, which also adds shine and moisture to my dry hair. Other products on the market are designed specifically for this problem. I am currently using Phyto Plage Protective Sun Veil ($ 30; jet.com). Contains castor oil and protects hair from the harmful effects of the sun, salt and chlorine.
2. Get wet and protect your head
Before jumping into the pool, I like to dip my hair in the shower. This slows down chlorine absorption because your hair acts like a sponge and absorbs less water when wet. Then I put my locks in a rubber or silicone cap. I know it doesn’t block water completely, but it slows down the process.
3. Get special hair cleansers
Some swimmers also smell chemicals from the pool after bathing and other activities. This is because chlorine binds chemically to hair and skin. Therefore, you may need more than just soap and water to wash it. You can buy a special shampoo to remove chlorine and the buildup of minerals, such as copper, that can turn your hair green. I used a product called TRISWIM Shampoo ($ 11; amazon.com) that softens my hair while adding volume. It smells like citrus fruits, which also helps to remove the smell of chlorine. Malibu Swimmers Water Action Wellness Shampoo ($ 14; amazon.com) is another option. It also serves as a liquid soap and is gentle enough to be used every day.
4. Opt for natural remedies
It is cheap to use apple cider vinegar, which acts as a natural clarifier. Just add a part of vinegar to four parts of water and pour it over the freshly washed hair. Then, do a final rinse. You can also prepare a citrus lift for your dry hair. Carbon dioxide from soda and acid from citrus juices work together to detoxify hair and remove impurities like dirt, chlorine and salt. If that sounds like a lot of work and you don’t do it yourself, you can get vitamin C concentrated in a SwimSpray chlorine removal spray bottle ($ 10; amazon.com). I tried this product and, although it was not very good for my hair, I found it was a quick and easy way to get the stink out of my swimsuit.
5. Take care of your skin
If you stay in the pool for a long time, you will develop dry, chalky skin and sometimes an itchy, red skin rash. Again, the culprit is chlorine, which removes the surface layer of oil that normally retains moisture from the skin. There is not much you can do about it in the water, but when you get out of the pool you go straight to the shower, take off your suit and wash the skin chemicals with plenty of soap and water. If you have sensitive skin or the pool is very chlorinated, you can use a special liquid soap TRISWIM
6. Keep your eyes healthy too
Contact lenses can absorb water like a sponge, just like your hair. This is bad news, as prolonged exposure to chlorine can irritate the corneal surface and cause redness and itching in the eyes. If you are like me and need corrective lenses to see six inches in front of your face, you will have to throw away your contact lenses as soon as you get out of the pool. I find it cheap to have daily contacts that I can only use for swimming, while I use monthly magazines for everything else.
Another option is to buy prescription swimming goggles. You may not know this, but they are surprisingly affordable. Prices range from $ 20 to $ 60, depending on the brand. You can get them from Speedo or TYR, but I like the aquagoggles because they make it easy to customize the recipe for each eye.
7. Take care of your bathing suit
Frequent swimmers know that chlorine can damage not only their skin and hair, but also their swimsuit. Over time, the fabric will tear, the color will fade and the elastic will break. He can also turn his white suit to yellow. The next time you buy a new swimsuit, be sure to check the label to see if it is resistant to chlorine and fading. A high level of spandex is an advantage, as it will help your outfit maintain its shape. You can also look for a satisfaction guarantee. Lands’ End has this policy and covers all your swimwear.

I wanna make a book recommendation to Steven Universe fans, and more specifically, fans of Pearl.

Pearls: A Natural History
By Neil H. Landman, Paula M. Mikkelsen, Rudiger Bieler, and Bennet Bronson.
ISBN 0810944952
There's a ton of interesting info about how pearls are formed, how they're gathered, and their impact on human history and culture.

But of special interest is this section, which a headcannon gold mine:

In case you can't read it, it says:
Caring for Pearls
Historic pearls, such as La Peregrina, are known to be several hundred years old. There are fossil pearls, some dating from 60-70 million years ago, which still retain their luster. Clearly, under the right conditions pearls can last for millennia. However, it is important to recognize the basic principles about their care.
Pearls are much softer than hard gemstones and can be easily scratched. Because they contain organic material and water, pearls can also crack if exposed to excessive dryness. In addition, acids and other chemicals can easily damage pearls
To protect pearls:
Store pearls in a soft cloth sack, separate from metallic necklaces.
Never clean pearls in an ultrasonic cleaner. Vibrations can shatter pearls, especially if the nacre is thin or cracked.
Do not use chemical cleaners, especially those containing ammonia and bleach.
Remove pearls before washing dishes, doing housework, or applying perfume or hair spray.
Do not wear pearls in swimming pools with chlorinated water.
Avoid contact with foods containing acids, e.g., fruit juices and salad dressings.
Expose pearls regularly to humid conditions. If stored in a safe, place a glass of water in the compartment with them.
To keep pearls looking beautiful:
Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing.
Wash occasionally in mild soapy water; contrary to popular belief, the acidic oils and perspiration from human skin can damage the surface of a pearl.
Have pearls restrung periodically (once every two years), especially if worn frequently. Most jewelers use silk thread with knots tied between the pearls to prevent abrasion and ensure that all are not lost if the string is broken.
Pearls that have become damaged or stained can sometimes be restored to their former beauty. Pearl peeling, also known as skinning, consists of removing the outer layers of a pearl to expose fresh unblemished layers. This is very risky because it does not always remove the blemish. However, the chance remains of transforming a damaged pearl into a priceless gem.

NCT U + MOMENTS AFTER BREAKUP [PART II] !
[ taeil ] when he’s staring at the shattered picture frame, the photo of you and him scratched by the tiny shards of glass that littered the carpet, and he mentally beats himself up for breaking something so precious but relents, knowing that it’s time to remove that last reminder of you; he braves through the nagging uncertainty and drops the pieces in the trash bin, heart swaying as he takes one last glance, and forces himself to turn on his heels
[ taeyong ] when he wakes up at 5PM after sleeping on and off for twelve hours, dreams of you plaguing his mind and reminding him of just how much your absence causes an unbearable ache in his ribcage, and all he wants to do is fall back asleep but he is already wide awake with flooding thoughts of you; he pulls his limbs in and forces himself out of bed, praying for the day he can go to bed and forget he’s lying in your spot
[ doyoung ] when he is comfortably tucked under his covers reading about the topic of happiness, and he recalls his conversation with you on how to find something that often feels elusive, a regretful smile forming on his lips as he remembers the times he was so positive that only you could ever make him happy; he smoothes his palm along the pages of the book and wonders whether you were able to find happiness without him
[ ten ] when he gets good news and his instinct is to dial your phone number and share it with you like always because he knows you’ll be just as excited for him, but his fingers are suspended midair when he remembers he can no longer do that because he didn’t just lose his love but his best friend as well when you left; he tucks his phone back into his pocket, feeling a little less eager and a little more heavy-hearted
[ winwin ] when he’s sitting near the gates at the airport waiting to board his flight, merely seconds away from crumbling on the spot as he scrolls through the endless photos of you saved on his camera roll, and his breath shudders when he realizes this will be the only part of you he can take with him; he wonders if you’re still somewhere in the airport and if it’s too late for him to run back into your arms and beg for another chance
[ jungwoo ] when he’s waiting for the train back, slumping against one of the pillars and feeling drained as fatigue drags him under, and an inexplicable loneliness creeps in with the late evening wind and settles somewhere deep in the pit of his stomach; he suddenly begins to dread the idea of returning home when you’re no longer there to greet him and lingers a little longer at the station until he can shove the thoughts of you back into the hidden corner of his mind
[ jeno ] when he takes large strokes and swims to the bottom of the empty pool to put his mind at ease, the chlorine setting deeply into his skin and hair, and he is in disbelief because he has spent all of his summer doing nothing but wait for himself to feel whole again, yet nothing seems to be enough to fill the gaping hole; he makes the mistake of brushing against the memories of you and rises up gasping for air, the violent thrashing of his heart pounding in his ears

Rin x Reader
Title: Can’t Swim Fluff No Warning
You had your feet in the pool, just enjoying the coolness on your skin. This was as close to the water as you would get unless you were showering or taking a bath. The truth was you couldn’t swim, in fact you feared the water a lot. Which was ironic because your closest friends were on the swim team and loved swimming. They didn’t know you couldn’t swim. They never asked and you never told them.
“(Y/N), join us…” Nagisa said and you flashed him a smile.
“I am fine right here.”
“Awe, please.”
“No thanks…” You said again and Nagisa left it alone. Rin on the other hand, didn’t approve. He wanted to spend some time with you inside the pool, so he swam towards you.
“Hey.” He gave you his shark tooth smile, which you couldn’t help but smile back.
“Sup.” You did have a crush on Rin, and seeing the water run down his body made you even more attracted to him.
“Mind if I join ya?”
“Nope, I do not.” He pulled himself out of the water and sat beside you. It was quiet for a few moments as you kicked your feet in the water humming a soft tune.
“You should join us, it would be more fun.” He said suddenly and you laughed.
“I don’t feel like getting in the pool. I have my reasons.” You said and he puffed his cheeks standing up. You thought he was going to go back to the pool but instead he walked away. You shrugged your shoulders slightly and continued to gently kick the water.
You closed your eyes enjoying the sun on your back and the cold water on your skin, creating the perfect comfort for you. That all ended when you were suddenly picked up. You opened your eyes to see Rin, grinning at you.
“R-Rin, what are you doing?”
“Don’t worry…. it’s just water.” He said and your face paled.
“Rin, please don’t. Don’t do this.” You said almost begging, looking terrified but he didn’t noticed as he threw you into the pool. A small scream left your lips and panic built up in your throat as you hit the water. Flashbacks, of when you first fell into the lake by your old house began to surface your mind causing more panic. You began to thrash around trying to get to the surface, but you couldn’t. Air became a source your needed but it couldn’t come fast enough. You tried to get to the top but couldn’t and your eyes began to close.
Right as you were about to pass out, arms wrapped around you, pulling you to the surface. Rin placed you on the ground by the pool and gently tapped your face.
“(Y/N), wake up. Please wake up…” Rin was trying to wake you but you wouldn’t wake up. Everyone began to surround the two of you as he checked for a pulse which was thankfully still there. He placed his mouth on top of yours and pinching your nose before doing CPR. Panic was rising as he couldn’t wake you, but he didn’t stop giving you CPR. After a few minutes when he was about to go back you turned your head and coughed up the chlorined water.
“Oh my god (Y/N). You are okay.” Rin said as he helped you sit up before wrapping his arms around you.
“I am so sorry (Y/N), please forgive me.” He said on the verge of tears. You were still in a state of shock, as you looked at everyone before realizing the situation. You pushed Rin off of you and shakily stood up.
“(Y/N), you shouldn’t be moving so much.” Makoto said trying to make you sit down, but you were upset, scared, and shocked.
“I wanna go home. Now…” You said, and Rin frowned.
“I will walk you.” Rin said standing up but you shook your head.
“I want you to stay far away from me Rin.” You said and Rin felt his heart shatter.
“I will walk her home… she lives next to me and Rei.” Nagisa said, and they left. Makoto patted Rin’s shoulder gently as Rin watched you leave.
“She doesn’t mean that, just give her some time.”
“I almost drowned her, I didn’t know she couldn’t swim, or else I wouldn’t have done it.”
“None of us knew… she had a if you don’t ask I won’t tell, kind of thing going on.” Haruka said which was true.
“She probably hates me so much right now, and doesn’t trust me.” Rin said sitting down and burying his face in his hands. Sosuke watched how Rin was a mess after that experience you just had.
“Don’t blame yourself, just give her some space. I am sure she will come around.” Sosuke said and Rin nodded his head slightly.
“I hope you guys are right. I don’t like it when she doesn’t want me around.” Rin said as he sighed softly.
~time skip~
You were in your room studying when you heard a knock on your door. You removed your glasses and went to the front door, before opening it. You looked up to see Rin, and he was rubbing his neck. He had your favorite flowers in the other hand, as he looked at you.
“Rin…”
“(Y/N), I am really sorry.” He said and your expression softened slightly and you shook your head.
“It’s okay, you didn’t know.”
“Still, you almost drowned because of me.”
“You also saved me.” You said kissing his cheek, causing a blush to rise on his cheeks.
“Here, these are for you.” He said giving you the flowers and you took them.
“You didn’t have to get me flowers.”
“I wanted too.” Was all he said and you allowed him inside your house as you put the flowers in a vase. You turned around to face him after filling it with water, and you jumped. He was right in front of you and wrapped his arms around your waist.
“You don’t realize how much I lost sleep because you almost got hurt because of me.” He said burying his face in your neck.
“Rin, its okay. I forgive you.” You said and he shook his head before looking at you and placed his lips on top of yours.
“I love you and I hurt you…” He said against your lips causing you to blush and grip his shirt. You slowly began to kiss him back and he smiled softly.
“I love you too Rin, I forgive you… so stop apologizing.” You said and he smiled widely and hugged you tightly.
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
“Of course I will!”

Waterpark Kisses (Ushijima Wakatoshi x Reader)
Word Count: 1,863
Summary: You and Ushijima decide that a waterpark would be a fun date, but insecurities begin to rise and you’re left wondering if Ushijima really does love you like he claims.
This is dedicated to my @sunshinewitchz, the love of my life and the biggest simp for Wakatoshi I know. She’s literally the best and deserves the best💕💕💕
I hope you all enjoy this garage. My biggest concern when writing is making sure I capture the character’s personality, so hopefully I did a good job for this one😅
Also I know I have some requests sitting in my inbox, I’ll get to them eventually, but at the moment for requests I’ll only be writing three at time.
Anyway please enjoy!:)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“It was nice of Tendou-kun to give us these tickets.” You said brightly, staring up at the tall ace that was currently next to you.
The smell of chlorine was heavy in the air, along with the sounds of running water, and kids screaming and laughing.
“Yeah.” Ushijima said briefly, eyes flickering down to yours briefly before surveying the area. “I thought it would just be us though.” he finished, eyes now gazing at his teammates.
“Now, now, Wakatoshi-kun.” Tendou said coming up to you guys and swinging an arm around your shoulders. “Think of it as team building! Right guys?”
Semi scoffed, crossing his arms over his bare chest. “No one wanted to come to the waterpark Tendou, you literally forced everyone to go.”
You and Ushijima frowned slightly at his statement. When Tendou had asked if you guys wanted tickets to go to the new waterpark that opened, you were ecstatic. You and Ushijima hadn’t gone on a date in a while, and this was the perfect chance.
However, you weren’t expecting it to be a group thing.
“I wanted to go.” Ushijima said, looking at Semi with a blank expression. “Y/n and I wanted to go on a date and you guys decided to tag along.” his blunt statement had you gently patting his muscular bicep.
“Waka-kun. It’s fine. We can still have fun.” You said brightly, beaming up at the stoic male. “I’m just happy to be with you.”
Ushijima’s face softened as he stared back at you. This was just one of the many reasons why he adored you. You were literally the sun, incredibly warm and bright. Your sweet face melted away the bitterness he was feeling towards his teammates.
Nothing else mattered as long as he got to spend time with you.
“Let’s go find a place to put our stuff, Y/n.” He said, his large hand engulfing yours completely. Thick, rough fingers grasped at your dainty ones, gently squeezing before intertwining them together.
Ushijima’s hands were always so warm. The rough calluses from years of volleyball practice tickled your skin pleasantly. But the safety you felt when he held your hand was one of your favorite feelings.
It had always been like this though, while you and Ushijima had only started dating halfway through your second year at Shiratorizawa, the overwhelming feeling of love was always transparent between the two of you.
You had never thought that the stoic, blunt, blank faced captain would be attentive to you. Would care for you as deeply as he did. He never ceased making you feel adored.
“Wakatoshi-kun!” Tendou called out loudly.
Right now, you guys were sitting at one of the many tables that overlooked the main waterpark area, you guys were currently looking at the map of the park, deciding on what you wanted to do first.
“What is it Tendou?” Ushijima asked, staring at the spiky red-haired male making his way over to you guys.
“They’re doing a game of volleyball! Let’s play!” he gestured over his shoulder to one of the pools, a group of people beginning to pull up a net.
You noticed the slight glint in Ushijima’s eye at the mention of the sport, but he glanced over at you in expectation.
“Go play for a bit Toshi-kun.” you said, smiling in amusement. “I’ll keep looking over the map and after you finish, we can go yeah?”
He nodded, getting up from his chair to leave. “Okay. I won’t be long.” he stooped down, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head. He easily removed his black shirt from his body, the thick muscles in his arms flexing deliciously, the hard lines on his stomach revealed for all eyes to see.
But those were yours. You knew his body like the back of your hand; knew all the ways to make him unravel. You knew exactly how he liked to be touched.
He was yours. Simple as that.
You couldn’t help but watch the game for a moment, there was something truly amazing about seeing him play.
You loved his strength and his passion for the sport, the raw power that he possessed was breathtaking.
His play left you in awe every time.
You were staring in awe for a different reason this time. The water ran down his body, seeping into the deep crevices of his muscles, soaking his hair until it was dark and sticking to his forehead. His eyes focused and determined with that familiar glint that he always got when he played.
The tall ace was just so fucking beautiful, it was almost too much to watch.
But again, he was yours. The amount of love you possessed for Ushijima Wakatoshi was indescribable.
But there were times where you couldn’t help but wonder why he was with you; especially now, a group of girls had paused their conversation to stare at the tall male, your boyfriend.
“Look how hot that guy is.” one of them whispered, unconsciously fixing her swimsuit. “Do you think he’s single?”
A frown began to form on your lips as you listened in. A slight pang of insecurity and jealousy flooding in your blood.
You had the utmost trust and confidence in Ushijima, you knew that he would never cheat on you, you knew that he never had a wandering eye… but there were times when that little voice in the back of your head began those ‘what if’ scenarios.
Especially since those girls that were ogling your boyfriend were incredibly pretty.
“Oh my god, look he’s coming right over here.” one of them said in hushed excitement, they all began fixing their hair and their swimsuits. “He’s looking right at us!”
Correction.
Ushijima was looking at you.
His swim trunks hung low on his hips, revealing the deep ‘V’ set at the base of his hips. Water was still trickling down his toned stomach.
A greek fucking god he was.
“Y/n, did you see my win?” he asked in his deep voice as he approached you, grabbing the towel you had set out for him earlier.
However, you were too busy staring at the girls who were now glaring at you. “Is that his girlfriend? There’s no way. He’s too good for her.”
You immediately averted your gaze as soon as you heard those words; your shoulders curling in on themselves as you tried to make yourself as small as possible.
“Y/n?” Ushijima asked, frowning as he sat next to you once more, toweling off his hair.
“Oh! Uh… sorry Toshi-kun… yes, I did see your win! It was great!” you said, a fake smile covering your lips.
Ushijima’s frown deepened, his large hand reaching out to cup your face, he knew something was wrong, that smile of yours… it wasn’t the smile he was used to.
“But you’re back now! So, let’s go to this part!” You said, pointing off in a random direction. You didn’t want Ushijima to see you upset, you didn’t want to ruin the time you had together because of your insecurities.
He stared at you for a moment before nodding. “Okay. Let’s go then.” he said, grabbing your stuff and your small hand before walking off.
The waterpark was vast, it had so many different pools with different themes, but somehow you guys ended up in a quiet beach themed area.
The serenity and the quietness were actually quite welcoming, and there weren’t that many people there.
Ushijima had set down your guys’ things on one of the folding chairs, before looking at you expectantly.
“Should we swim?” he asked, nodding towards the water.
You nodded eagerly, almost forgetting about the incident earlier. But as you went to remove the shawl that covered your body, you hesitated.
It wasn’t like Ushijima had never seen your body before, but for some reason… you were left feeling entirely unsure about it.
Had those pretty girls and their crude comments gotten to you?
As your mind was reeling, you hadn’t noticed that Ushijima was watching you closely. Once again noticing your odd behavior, your usual sunny and bright expression was incredibly cloudy.
That was something that he absolutely despised, all he wanted was your happiness. If he wasn’t able to give you that… then… he felt like he wasn’t doing his duty to you as your boyfriend, as your protector.
“A-Actually Waka-kun, I think I’ll take a break for a moment.” you finally said, giving him another fake smile.
“You haven’t even gotten in the water today.” he said bluntly, causing you to flinch at the trueness to it.
“W-Well, watching you play volleyball was just so exhausting for me.” you said nervously.
He wasn’t buying it though. He walked over to you, gently grabbing your wrist and tugging you closer to him.
“Don’t lie to me Y/n.” he said, carefully cupping your chin and moving your face up so you were gazing directly at him. “What happened? You’re acting strange.”
You stared back at him, his face was contorted into a frown, but you could see the love and the worry clear in his eyes.
“Do you… do you love me Wakatoshi?” you asked quietly.
“Are you stupid?” he asked bluntly, causing you to pout at his mean words. “Of course, I love you. You already know that.”
He wasn’t wrong there. He told you that he loves you almost every day it seemed. Of course, you knew, he never let you forget.
“Are you… attracted to me?” You tried again.
The expression on his face was incredibly confused now. “Why would you ask me that? Of course, I do. If I didn’t we wouldn’t have had se-” “Okay!” you interrupted reaching up to cover his mouth, although even on your tiptoes, you could only reach his chin, face burning in embarrassment at his bold claim.
He removed your hand from his face, cradling both in his large ones as he stared down at you.
“If I wasn’t attracted to you, we wouldn’t be dating.” he said simply. “Why are you asking me these things?”
You sighed softly, gazing at the sand beneath your feet now. “I just… those girls were so pretty… I got insecure…” you trailed off.
He frowned again, what girls?
“I don’t know what girls you’re talking about.” he said. “But you’re beautiful. I don’t see any reason for you to be insecure. I love your body.”
You could feel the blush rising in your cheeks at his statement, a familiar feeling of warmth and love washing away the feelings of insecurity and worry.
“Really?” you asked, looking up at him through your lashes.
“Yes.” he gently cupped your cheek, tilting your face up to gaze at him. His heart racing slightly at the sweet expression on your face, the dark clouds seemed to disappear now, leaving behind that warm, bright face he adored the most.
He stooped down, pressing a soft kiss to your lips before standing straight again. “Let’s go swimming now.”
“Can you turn around so I can take off my cover?” You asked.
“Why? You strip down in front of me all the time before we have se-”
“Wakatoshi!”
swim captain (chapter four)
pairing: bang chan x reader
genre: angst?? fluff? it’s a bit suggestive
warnings: chan’s a horny teenager
word count: 2k
a/n: i am. so inconsistent, thank you all for being patient!
minho ignored chan for as much of the rest of the day that he could. any time that he couldn’t, he made sure they weren’t alone. chan wouldn’t bring it up with anyone else around, minho knew that.
minho really did want to help you and chan get together. he cared about the both of you very much, he just didn’t see the point in doing something i’d he couldn’t have a little fun with it, and nothing was more fun than messing with his captain.
chan, when he wasn’t busy trying to get minho alone, was focused on you. he didn’t see what minho saw, not even after it was pointed out to him. you didn’t act any different to him than the rest of the boys, and if you did, it gave off more of the impression that you didn’t like him as much as the others. he didn’t see it, but minho said he did. minho wouldn’t lie. minho might be wrong as hell and that was a very likely possibility, but he wouldn’t lie. if minho thought he saw something, he did.
chan walked out of the dressing room and sat beside you on the bench. minho was on the other side of you, his arm on your shoulder and fingers idly placing with the string of your swimming top as he talked with hyunjin.
you weren’t paying any attention to the conversation going on beside you. you were busy texting someone on your phone. it wasn’t his right to look at your phone, he knew that, but chan glanced down anyway. it’s not like he was expecting it to be anything other than jaemin’s name on your screen, but that didn’t mean he liked it. your fingers absentmindedly played with the cloth of the towel across your legs as you typed out a reply.
you were already in your swimsuit. you knew couch would let the team have an easy day after the meet, which meant you would be getting in the pool with the boys. changbin had said something about you promising to play marco polo to make up for not hanging with them the night before.
chan watched as you typed out a goodbye to jaemin, eyes not knowing whether to focus there or on minho’s hand still fiddling with your strap. he couldn’t tell if this was another one of minho’s attempts to piss him off or if it was just natural for him, not that it mattered. he didn’t like it either way.
he should have probably been grateful for minho in that moment, though. as long as chan’s eyes were trained on minho’s hand, they didn’t have time to wander the rest of your body.
he’d seen you in swim suits countless times before. he’d even seen you in the exact one you were wearing that moment, but he felt different about it this time. like he was finally noticing how stunning you looked with so little on your body.
his mind began to wander, picturing himself as the one messing with the straps of your bathing suit, sliding them down your shoulders… maybe that wasn’t such a good distraction after all.
he had been so focused on his own thoughts he didn’t notice minho get up and make his way to the pool, leaving just the two of you on the bench.
he smiled at you as he shifted his posture, reaching beside you and pulling your swim bag onto his lap to hide the fact that he was growing increasingly turned on with every second he saw you in that suit.
he unzipped the bag and began to ruffle around in it, claiming that he was looking for a phone charger. you allowed him to rummage through your bag. you had no issue with it until you caught a glimpse of his hands, which were dry and cracked from not having washed any of the chlorine off of himself the night before.
you reached out and took his hands, stilling his movements and you pulled his hands from the bag and into your view.
“chan, your hands are ruined! what did you do?”
your hands were soft against the dry skin of his.
“forgot to shower the chlorine off last night, my whole body is like that.”
he gently tried to remove his hands from yours but you tightened your grip, and that was okay. he didn’t really want you to let go anyway.
you frowned at him, “you know better than to let chlorine sit, chan.” you released his hands and reached for your bag, pulling it off of his lap and placing it in your own. chan shifted his position again and prayed to god you were focused enough on his injuries and whatever you were looking for in your bag than anything else. he glanced at the boys in the water, hoping that they, too, were too distracted to notice his discomfort with your outfit and close proximity.
was discomfort the right word?
you pulled a bottle of lotion from your bag, setting the bag behind you and turning your body to face chan.
you took his hands from his lap, missing the gasp he let out when you did so. chan didn’t know if that was really a win or not. you squeezed some of the lotion out of the bottle and onto your hand, picking up small amounts and putting some wherever chan’s skin was split. you softly rubbed it into his hands, head turning up to smile at him when you were done. your eyes immediately locked with his. he’d been focused on you the whole time. if the lotion stung when you put it on, he hadn’t noticed.
you smiled at him before reaching a hand to his chin and losing the grin, tilting his head to the side and running your thumb over a patch of dry skin on his neck.
“for fucks sake channie, you weren’t lying when you said it’s everywhere.”
he let out a nervous chuckle, eyes still focused on as much of your face as he could see with his head tilted. they stayed locked onto you until he heard a loud splash followed by a loud bought of laughter coming from the pool.
you didn’t pay it any attention other than scolding chan for turning his head and making you lose your spot.
he mumbled a small apology as he scanned the pool for minho. he was looking directly at the two of you. he offered chan a bright grin and a thumbs up before getting tackled by hyunjin.
he turned his head back to face you and was met with you only a few inches away from his face. you’d been leaned over him and checking the other side of his neck for cuts.
his eyes flickered from yours down to your lips and up again. he wanted to kiss you. but was it the right time? would you be upset that he didn’t ask in a more private setting? did you even want him to kiss you at all?
he wasn’t given the chance to decide, being cut off as your coach entered the room.
“alright kids, i see you’ve already taken it upon yourselves to begin practice. same as most other post meet days, relax and have fun, you guys did well last night.”
you and chan had jumped apart when your coach began to speak, separating yourselves from each other. you stood as your coach finished speaking and dropped your towel onto the bench to take your spot. you made a move towards the pool, looking behind you at chan and gesturing him to follow with a light grin.
and who was he to say no to that.
he got up and followed you to the pool. you’d only gotten halfway down the ladder when changbin wrapped his arms around you and dragged you into the water. everyone laughed at your expense and you couldn’t pretend to be mad.
chan sat on the edge of the pool, hanging his legs into the water and hands balled in his lap. he planned to lower himself into the water from there when he decided it was safe to move his hands, but you had other plans.
you freed yourself from changbin’s arms and made your way to chan, not waiting for him to protest before grabbing him by the wrists and yanking him into the water.
he instinctively wrapped his arms around you as he fell forward, pulling you under the water with him as he fell.
you wrapped your arms around his torso, hands grabbing the fabric of his swim shirt tightly as he brought the both of you back to the surface, hands secure around you.
he ran one hand through his hair, wiping the water off of his face, leaving the other around your waist and keeping you pressed flush against him. he hadn’t realized he was doing it, but it didn’t seem like you minded.
you threw your head back and let out a loud laugh and chan followed, smiling at the sight of you brightly smiling in front of him, in his arms.
he only released you from his grip when someone splashed water towards the two of you, a silent demand for war, and he had to let you from his arms to fight back.
the entirety of practice was spent as post meet practices always go, the 9 of you messing around and wrestling in the water while coach sits in his office and makes plans for the next practices up until the nearest meet.
as the time for practice to end came nearer, the pool slowly became empty. you began to clean things up and place the pool cover on the pool as you waited for the boys to finish changing back into their clothes so you could use the dressing room. you sat on your usual bench after finishing everything that you could do alone, checking your messages and seeing one from jaemin.
na jaemin: hey! you free friday? i want to show you that ice cream shop i told you about :)
you began to type out a reply, but you were cut off by someone speaking from behind you. minho really had to stop reading over your shoulder.
“nope, cancel your date with the pretty boy. swim party.”
you turned around to face him as he explained the situation to the others with a pout, “the nct kid asked her to go out friday and she was about to ditch us for him again. can you believe that?”
you laughed and threw a towel from beside you at him, “shut up, i didn’t know we had plans. i’d never miss a swim team party, you guys would probably die without me to supervise.”
chan picked up the towel from the floor beside minho where it had landed and tossed it back to you, “there’d be at least one casualty, for sure.”
you laughed and grabbed your bag, headed to the dressing room to change into dry clothes now that the boys were out of the room. as you walked through the door, chan turned to minho and quietly thanked him for stopping you from making plans with jaemin. minho nodded and quickly left before chan could speak to him any further.
chan left soon after, before you came back out of the changing room. felix had already agreed to be your ride home if you wanted one anyway.
it wasn’t long before chan was lying in bed, properly showered off this time. he’d been tempted not to if it meant you’d care for him like you had earlier that day, but he decided it was in his best interest to keep up good hygiene if he wanted you to like him.
he tried to sleep, but his head was clouded with thoughts of you; your hands, the way you felt in his arms, that he should have asked to kiss you. if you would have said yes.
minho said that you returned his feelings, but chan was finding it hard to decide if he believed him or not. maybe minho was just looking too deep into things. maybe he was making a fuss out of something that wasn’t there. but then again, maybe he wasn’t.
I Love You For Being You
A/N: Here ya go anon! I was planning this fanfic for most of the night but I didn’t get a chance to really sit down and write it until now! Nonetheless, I really hope you like it and I hope everyone else who reads it likes it too!
Summary: When Team seems out of it throughout the day, Win worries about him until they go to Win’s dorm and Team opens up about what has been bothering him.
Word Count: 1881
Team had been acting off the whole day and it was starting to confuse and worry Win. Ever since they had met up for breakfast at the business faculty canteen, Pharm and Manaow beside him, Win noticed the way the younger man seemed to be deep in thought, barely eating and just messing with his rice with his fork and spoon. Win didn’t think much of it then but when it continued to happen, even during their swim practice, the older boy knew he had to say or do something, his worry beginning to make it hard to focus on anything but Team. Drying his hair with the towel around his neck, Win leaned against the swim team lockers and just observed the way Team seemed to be dazed, mindlessly drying himself off as he stared into space.
“If you continue to stare at him, you’ll look like you’re on something.” Rolling his eyes at the teasing tone Dean gave him, Win turned his attention from his boyfriend and glanced at Dean, who was smirking at him like he was picking a fight. Arching his brows in a way to show Dean he was willing to fight back if necessary, Win only grinned when his best friend rolled his eyes and moved to open his locker, pulling out his uniform and draping it over his arm. Doing the same with his own locker, Win gave one last look towards Team before he followed Dean towards a more private area of the locker room. “Did you do something to make his mind wander? He was distracted during practice and it did a little bit of damage to his times.”
“I wouldn’t do anything I haven’t done before. He was like this since our group had breakfast together…” Win thought out loud, tossing the towel on the bench beside them as he pulled his hair out of the ponytail. Removing his trunks and throwing them next to the towel, Win pulled out his boxers and slipped them on, stretching as Dean got dressed. “I was thinking about taking him back to my dorm and trying to talk with him. Maybe something’s troubling him and he just doesn’t know how to open up about it.”
Letting out a hum at what Win said, Dean pulled on his shirt and missed the look of mischief that crossed Win’s face as his eyes turned back towards the damp towel lying across the bench. Scooping it up, Win spun it around and by the time Dean’s head poked out of the shirt, the towel was whipped and it smacked hard against the skin of Dean’s lower back. Biting back a yell at the attack, Dean turned his threatening gaze towards his friend who just grinned, the smile falling when Win noticed the way Dean smirked and grabbed his own towel. Knowing Dean’s strength and his fearlessness with not holding back with him, Win quickly pulled on his pants and grabbed his dress shirt, darting away as Dean got the towel all twisted. Clicking his tongue, Dean didn’t seem to be phased as he just followed Win, not minding the eyes of their juniors following them, Win’s pleadings of mercy meaning nothing to him.
Finally having gotten dressed and his hair up in its usual ponytail, his lower back stinging from the hit that Dean gave him, Win strolled to the main area of the changing room and paused when he noticed Team still sitting on the bench, fully dressed but still looking like his mind was elsewhere. Standing in front of him, Win gently knocked on one of the lockers, finally catching Team’s attention as he twitched and his gaze cleared, his eyes meeting Win’s concerned ones. Shaking his thoughts away, Team stood up and threw his bag over his shoulder, taking in the way Win watching him before he slowly reached out, lacing their fingers together, his eyes never leaving the wet tiles of the changing room.
“Can we go to your dorm?” Team asked softly, his tone making Win’s brows arch as he nodded, not wanting to deny his boyfriend of anything. Tightening his grip on Team’s hand, Win led them out of the changing room and away from the pool, the burning of his back long forgotten as he helped Team onto his motorbike, his boyfriend not complaining about it like he normally would. Putting his keys in the bike, Win revved up the engine and paused when he didn’t have to tell Team to wrap his arms around his waist, the boy’s arms already circling him as his face was pressed snug against Win’s back. “I’m ready.”
“Okay, hang on tight,” Win replied, patting Team’s interlocked hands on his stomach before he pressed the gas pedal, the two of them making their way out of the parking lot and towards the dormitory, the familiar path making it easy for Win to follow and his mind to wander, wondering what could possibly be on Team’s mind. Not having to drive for long, the dormitory already in his sight, Win slowed to a stop and parked his bike, turning off the engine and stuffing his keys into his pocket. “We’re here. Come on, let’s go inside.”
Not saying a word, all Team did was nod and his arms were gone from Win’s waist, the boy straightening himself out as he followed his boyfriend into the building, both of them giving a polite wai to the desk attendant. Taking the elevator up to Win’s floor, Win could only play with his keys, the silence around them kinda stifling since it was usually filled with their usual banter and Team’s protests of Win’s acts of love. Stepping out once they reached the right floor, Win let Team take the lead, the boy still looking dazed as he relied on muscle memory and before long, they were in front of Win’s room.
Unlocking the door, Win held the door open for Team and strolled in after him, both of them kicking off their shoes and throwing their bags next to them, Win not minding the messiness this time around since he was more concerned about the lack of talking from his boyfriend. Rubbing the back of his neck, Win just observed the way Team walked in and sat down on one of the beanbag chairs Win had, his gaze never leaving the black screen of the television. Picking at his fingernails, a nervous habit that he had picked up from somewhere, Team took a deep breath and turned his attention to Win, who was taking him in with a worried gaze, a small twinge of guilt rising in Team’s chest at the thought of Win being worried about him for most of the day.
“Hia...can we watch a movie? Anything is fine with me,” Team asked, his voice clouded in something that Win couldn’t place. Letting out a hum, Win stepped closer to his boyfriend and kneeled down, beginning to look through the piles of dvds he had, making a small smile rise on Team’s face when he noticed the adorable look of concentration on Win’s face. Pulling out, ‘Spirited Away,’ Win arched his brow at Team in question, Team chuckling softly and nodding, not minding the choice his boyfriend made. Grinning at the smile that was appearing on Team’s face, Win set up the dvd player and inserted the movie. “Not a bad choice...we should have a Studio Ghibli marathon some time or something.”
“I don’t mind. It could be like a date night,” Win chuckled, his lips turning up in a smirk at the flush that filled Team’s cheeks, the boy puffing his cheeks as he crossed his arms. Knowing that Team actually liked the thought of that, Win settled back against the free beanbag chair just as the movie began playing, his attention on the screen as he was vaguely aware of the way Team was still eyeing him. Swallowing the lump in his throat, Team slowly crawled closer to Win, his eyes remaining on the carpet as he placed himself in between Win’s legs, squirming closer until his back was pressed against Win’s chest and his head laid comfortably on Win’s shoulder. Wrapping his arms around Team’s waist and holding him, Win nuzzled his nose into Team’s hair, the scent of chlorine and something that was just Team making Win hug him harder. “Is something on your mind? I noticed how you seemed to be out of it and it worried me…”
Freezing up as he heard this, Team swallowed back the guilt and turned a little so he could look Win in the eyes, the concern coming off his boyfriend in waves. Thinking about how he should ask about what has been on his mind, Team turned his gaze back towards the movie, watching it for a moment before his mouth opened and closed, his brain trying hard to get out what he was feeling. He knew that Win wouldn’t laugh at him but that still didn’t make expressing himself any easier. Figuring it would be faster just to get it over with, much like ripping a bandaid off quickly, Team met Win’s eyes again and let out a sigh.
“I was thinking about us. You...don’t mind that I get embarrassed easily with public affection right? That I’m not as...as lovey dovey as Pharm is with P’Dean?” Team asked, his thoughts finally spewing from his mouth as he continued to ramble. Not seeing the way Win was frowning, Team kept voicing out his worries until he was forced to stop, Win’s mouth pressed against his in a kiss. Letting his eyes flutter shut, Team returned the soft kiss and only pulled away when an intense scene in the movie startled them. Cackling at how they both got scared, Win pressed his forehead against Team’s and just stared into his eyes, the love that was clearly pouring from his eyes making Team’s doubts fade into something much smaller and easier to deal with. “I...um…”
“I don’t care if you’re not lovey dovey like Pharm. You’re you and I love how you are. You may not show love like how other people would but I can tell you clearly care,” Win whispered, cupping Team’s cheek and playfully squeezing it, making Team yelp and glare at him lightly, swatting his hand away with a pout. Chuckling softly, Win pulled Team closer and nuzzled their noses together, making the pout leave Team’s lips as he just stared into Win’s eyes, his gaze leaving Win’s eyes to stare down at his lips before they rose back up. “I love you Team. Nothing will change my mind.”
Knowing that Win was telling the truth, Team could only nod softly and close his eyes when Win leaned in again, pressing another soft kiss to his lips before he pulled away and grinned. Burrowing himself against Win to hide his blushing face, Team turned his gaze back to the movie, placing his hands on Win’s that were laid softly against his stomach. Pressing a kiss to Team’s temple, Win leaned his head against Team’s and grew quiet, the movie gaining both of their attention once more as the silence around the room no longer felt stifling.
Unable to perceive the shape of you - Ch. 2
Pairing: Connor x f!Reader x Nines
Summary: After breaking the RK twins out of the MarineLife facility, you were determined to return them to the ocean before getting caught by your employer.
What you hadn’t counted on were the brothers deciding you belonged to them.
Prompt: Mermay! (Shape of Water/Splash AU)
Word Count: 3.4k
AO3
The arms released you, but before you could sink under the surface a second pair of hands grabbed you, pulling you against another warm chest.
You couldn’t lift your head from where it lolled against his shoulder. That horrible faintness wouldn’t leave and you wished it would go away. Or that you would just faint already.
This wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real.
“This was your idea, brother.”
“Yeah, I know that, but not like this! You could have warned her first!”
“And how would I have done that? Written her a note? ‘Excuse me, I know this will come as a shock to you, but we need your help. Also, we can talk.’ See how that wouldn’t have worked, Connor?”
You struggled to open your eyes, wincing at the stinging chlorinated saltwater.
“We’ve wasted too much time already. It was either tonight or never, so I apologize for not being as delicate as you wanted.”
“You weren’t delicate at all!”
Lifting your head from the shoulder you’d been leaning against, you blinked and squinted as you turned your head to see Nines shift his icy gaze to you.
“There, she’s conscious. No harm done.”
There it was. Witnessed in real time. His lips and tongue forming the words. Except your brain refused to accept it so vehemently that the faintness hit you again, and you whimpered as you closed your eyes.
“You’re an asshole,” Connor growled. You could actually feel the vibrations of his words with your face pressed to his throat. “You know that?”
“Please.” Nines’ dripping sarcasm was startlingly human. “Your little crush does not impress.”
“My little crush?”
Forcing your head off his shoulder, you slowly turned to look at Connor, blinking owlishly.
Connor stared back, slightly tilting his head in that way that was painfully familiar, even as he opened his mouth to speak words that shouldn’t have been possible.
“Are you okay?”
You nodded quite factually.
“Mmhmm.”
Connor’s brows rose as he looked you over, an impressive feat considering he still had one arm tucked around your back and the other around your shoulder blades.
“You don’t look okay.”
“Mmm, I’m fine.”
You really were, once you decided it was all a dream. Just… a very detailed dream. Every detail of Connor’s beautiful face was so real and so close, much closer than you’d ever been before. Every mole, freckle, and smooth inch of his skin. Very detailed.
Connor’s eyes widened the longer he stared at your face.
“Nines?” he asked, slightly turning his head toward his brother but keeping his eyes fixed on you. “I think she’s in shock.”
You weren’t in shock, you were dreaming, and you did what any reasonable person would do when having a dream about a gorgeous, talking Connor. You leaned forward the last few inches and pressed your lips against his mouth.
You had barely registered the feel of the soft, wet, pliant feel of it before you were yanked backwards.
Connor had to release you from the force of it, his expression wide with shock, his armband a solid red.
Red, you’re dead.
The giggle that had bubbled up your throat immediately died as you were spun around in the water and a narrow-eyed Nines stared down at you.
“Hmm,” he hummed thoughtfully. You tried not to giggle again, and instead snorted out of your nose. “I underestimated how fragile the human psyche is when forced with something outside its known worldview.”
“You think?” Connor snapped, swimming around you so he could gesture at you. “First you scared her, now you put her in a state of shock.”
“Hush,” Nines said, still holding you aloft in the water though he kept you nearly at arm’s length. “She will be fine.”
“You don’t know that! Humans do die from shock, Nines!”
“You’re not…” You stared at Nines’ face. This dream was lasting an awful long time. “Not talking… can’t be… You’re a…”
You searched for the word. Found it. Lost it again. Determined that shutting your eyes and going to sleep would be much easier, and then maybe you’d wake up and be all warm and dry in your own bed.
Instead, you were dunked underwater, the cold hitting your face and forcing your eyes to open. Before you could suck in a startled breath and drown yourself, you were pulled back up to the surface.
Coughing and blinking, you wiped the water from your face and tried to get your bearings.
“Nines! What are you doing!”
“She can’t fall asleep, Connor. She needs to wake up.”
Your hand slowly dragged down your face and you stared at the twin brothers. Who were speaking. Quite fluently in English.
“Oh.”
So it wasn’t a dream. The strange drunken shock seemed to be fading away, but it was quickly becoming replaced by sharp panic.
The larger ceta pulled you closer, hands tightly clasped on your shoulders.
“This is not a dream and you are sane. Do you understand?”
“No,” you said, heart hammering in your chest as you were forced to suck in more air. “No, I don’t.”
You broke away from him, struggling to keep yourself above the surface as you swam to the ladder as fast as you could. Something was clearly wrong. You were having a stroke, or an aneurysm, or something else equally horrible—
You slipped under the surface of the water again, limbs still uncoordinated and sluggish, but something grabbed your wrists and pulled you to the surface. You grabbed on automatically, coughing when you reached air again, and you saw your arms were wrapped around Connor’s shoulders, chest pressed against his back.
“You’re going to be fine,” he reassured you, pulling you through the water as he gave you a half-piggyback ride. “You … need some time to adjust.”
“We don’t have time,” Nines growled from somewhere to your left. “We must leave. Tonight.”
“I know,” Connor responded, so quietly you almost couldn’t hear him over the lapping water.
When Connor stopped in front of the ladder, you reached up and grabbed the flat, rubbery rungs and pulled yourself out of the water. Trying to stand was a mistake, the room immediately starting to spin, so you sat back down on the edge of the water and cradled your head. Your knees were aching and throbbing, and that more than anything told you that you were awake. You never felt the pain in your dreams.
“Am I sick? Or dying?” You paused. “Or dead?”
There was a gentle brush on your ankle and pulled your hands away to find Connor staring up at you. It was such a sad expression, his brows pulled and his brown eyes liquid with sympathy, and you wondered how you could have ever thought they were just sophisticated animals.
“No. You’re awake. As far as I can tell, you’re not dying.”
You just stared at him, at both of them, and waited to wake up.
You didn’t. You had a very strong suspicion, you weren’t going to. This was real.
“So…” You inhaled and slowly released a heavy breath. “You can talk.”
Nines raised one elegant brow as he tread closer.
“Yes.”
“Why me?” you asked, slightly shivering as you slowly air dried, leaving you chilled. “Why not talk to-to the scientists. The technicians. Show them you’re sentient.”
Connor frowned and Nines actually rolled his eyes.
“Yes, because humans have such a wonderful track record with other species they perceive as a threat.”
Nines had a point there, and you weren’t naïve enough to think Dr. Kamski and Dr. Stern wouldn’t see this as an opportunity they could take advantage of.
“They’re cruel enough just believing we’re dumb beasts. Which is why we’re leaving tonight,” Nines added, eyes narrowed dangerously as if he thought you would argue against it.
Which of course, you did.
“What? What do you mean, you’re leaving?”
“Yes,” Connor finally spoke up, expression nearly as grim as his brother’s. “And we need your help.”
“Need my…”
This was crazy. You were just getting used to the fact they could talk, and they sprung this on you?
“Help, yes,” Connor continued your unfinished sentence. “I… don’t know if you’re aware of what the technicians have been doing, but for the past week, they’ve been pulling me out of the tank for a procedure.”
Your lips tugged into a frown.
“Yeah, I knew they were pulling you out. Just not what for.”
It was hard to forget the angry roars as the handlers sedated Nines so they could remove Connor from the main pool, strap him to a gurney, and wheel him to another part of the facility. The memory of it, and the helpless anger you had felt, made a heavy stone sink in your stomach.
“They were…” He paused and chewed on the inside of his cheek. “…administering a daily injection. We didn’t know what it was, but then we overheard them talking about it.”
Connor faltered, his face growing paler than it already was. Nines picked up where he left off, his jaw tightened and his eyes pure steel.
“Hormone shots. They said they wanted to increase Connor’s fertility. He’s being shipped out to a breeding facility. Tomorrow.”
The blood drained from your own face at his words. You hadn’t heard anything about this, but then again, ceta handling and transfer wasn’t your department. You just chopped up the food, cleaned up after the techs, and were basically a glorified record keeper and janitor. Years of university and a biology degree got you in the door, but not much further than that.
Still, you were surprised Connor was the one going to a breeding facility instead of Nines. He was much larger, his muscles well-defined, and aside from his drooping dorsal fin, he was at peak health—
Your face heated and you silenced your own train of thought. He was a person, not a prized breeding stallion.
“Will you help us?” Connor’s eyes were pleading, somehow even more endearing now that you knew he could talk.
And you’d just compared both of them to animals. That wasn’t the worst of it. Looking back at the ways you’d treated them both like some kind of beloved pet was mortifying. You wanted to bury your head into your hands and die of embarrassment, but you didn’t have that luxury. Like it or not, they didn’t have anyone else to… to turn to.
They trusted you, you realized with instant, horrific guilt.
“Okay.” You rubbed your cheeks, trying to will away the last of the wooziness that still clung to you like oil. Connor’s face brightened, and you rushed to explain, “I… I want to help you. I really do. But I wouldn’t know how to get you out of here without a crane and a truck with a tank bed—“
“Oh,” Connor said, tilting his head. “That won’t be a problem. We can walk.”
You stared at him for several, long seconds.
“I’m sorry. What?”
“We can form legs,” Nines responded, his tone flat. “The historic accounts about our people being able to walk between land and sea? We never lost the ability. We just… show it sparingly.”
Just like their ability to talk. And the fact they were people.
“Is there anything else you want to tell me while we’re on the topic of things you two can do?”
You immediately winced at your sharp tone, sighing into your hands. “I’m sorry. I’m just… this is a lot to take in, okay?”
“No, don’t apologize.”
You felt the feather-light touch your ankle hanging in the water, and like always, it made you feel warm and calm.
“I knew it would cause you distress. It’s why I wouldn’t let Nines show you the truth sooner.”
His voice was gentle, sweet, just like Connor. Even with everything you’d learned about them, they were still… them. There was just more to them now. They were people, real people, and isn’t that what you’d always secretly wanted, deep down in a place you wouldn’t even admit to yourself? That cetas were more than just pretty, human-like creatures?
“Can all cetas talk and walk, or is it just you two?” You looked up at your hands, just in time to catch Connor glance at his brother from where he was treading water a foot or so away.
“We all can,” Nines said. Even now, you had to marvel how his voice sounded exactly like you’d always imagined it if he could speak. Low, heavy, and without inflection. “We just choose not to.”
“Why not?” Connor and Nines weren’t the only cetas in captivity, so why didn’t more of them escape? “You could have walked out of here at any time—“
“And go where?” Narrowed grey eyes glared up at you, the muscles in his jaw pulled taut. “We wouldn’t know where to run. How to find clothing or food. All we know is we are very far inland and a long way from home.”
He had a point, one you hadn’t even considered, and your cheeks burned as you looked down at your lap. Your hands were half-curled on top of your bare thighs, mostly dried now over the course of your conversation. Goosebumps broke over them, both because of the cold and the topic of conversation.
“I’ll help,” you eventually said, looking up at them. “Of course I will.”
You expected their expressions to change, for some kind of relief or joy to be there. Instead, they had nearly identical frowns.
“If you do this...” Connor moved closer, the ripples from his wake tickling your calves. He chewed the inside of his cheek again, a habit you’d always found endearing. “If you do this, there’s no going back. They’ll know what you did. You’ll have to leave everything behind.”
You thought of your sparse, one bedroom apartment. How empty it was, devoid of life as you went to bed and woke up each day alone. Not even a dog or cat to keep you company. Your friends and family lived far away, and your coworkers looked down on you as little more than a well-educated maid.
Would anyone even notice your absence? If you just vanished one day without a trace, would anyone care?
It didn’t matter. This wasn’t about you or the tragedy of your barren life. This was about Connor and Nines and getting them away from this hellhole. Especially Connor. There was no way in hell you were letting them cart him off to a breeding facility like some kind of broodmare.
“I know.” You gave him your best smile, but you knew there was something broken about it even before Connor leaned his cheek against your knee.
Old habit caused you to move without thinking, running your fingers gently through his damp hair. It took you a second to realize what you were doing, but when Connor closed his eyes and leaned into the touch, you didn’t have the heart to pull away. At least he didn’t find the touch demeaning.
“It’s worth it, though,” you added, voice barely above a whisper. You meant it, too. The way cetas were used and exploited angered you, bitterly, and that was when you’d thought they were simple creatures. You’d only gone into marine science because you thought you could help them. Understand them better so more ceta-protection laws could be passed.
The dreams of a child. It had taken you far too long to realize that people were only interested in cetas as long as they could profit off them. Worst of all, you now knew cetas had the intelligence to know exactly what was being done to them.
You wouldn’t let that happen to the twins. Even if it ruined your career and got you thrown in prison, at least you’d be able to live with yourself at the end of the day.
Your only regret was that you wouldn’t be there in the morning to see Stern and Kamski’s face when they saw the main pool empty, their precious grant funding gone.
Still running your fingers through Connor’s soft strands, you sensed a pair of steely eyes watching you. Maybe Nines didn’t like the fact you were touching his brother, though it was no different than any other time you’d interacted with Connor.
Only it was different now, wasn’t it? Suddenly the touch was unbearably intimate, even more with Nines watching like a hawk.
You were about to say something, anything, to bring Connor out of the haze he seemed to be in, his eyes closed and expression blissful as he leaned against your knee, when Nines moved toward the poolside ladder.
He grabbed the rungs and pulled himself up, and you caught a glimpse of his dark fins and white underbelly before they began to… melt away. Almost slipping off of him, the rubbery flesh disappeared and became pale, smooth skin.
And then the smooth skin became a very impressive set of legs and ass.
Your face was burning magma hot, but you couldn’t stop staring as Nines stood on the poolside deck, tall and defined with supple muscles, looking very much like any other human aside from the glowing armband that flashed to yellow when he caught you staring.
Quickly fixing your eyes on the water before you could get a look at what hung between his legs (and from the glimpse you got, it was very proportional to the rest of him), you breathed out a quiet, “Okay. Guess you guys really can walk.”
Your comment finally roused Connor; he blinked and swam away a few inches, a sheepish expression on his face. You removed your hand from his hair, immediately missing it. Which was stupid. You shouldn’t be doing that anymore—touching him like you had any right to.
He, too, went to the ladder, the smooth grey flesh of his tail melting away to reveal that pale expanse of skin you knew you should look away from just as strongly as you wanted to touch it, see if it felt real. Or… was it real? You didn’t really understand how it worked, or how either of them could walk to begin with. Scientifically it didn’t seem possible, but you couldn’t deny what was in front of you either.
There was no time for further questions. You were really doing this. Without a word, you got to your feet, grabbed your clothing, and slipped them back on as you formulated your plan.
All the while doing your best to keep your eyes above their waists. Easier said than done with both of them so much taller than you.
“All right,” you said as you pulled your damp hair above the collar of your shirt. “Some people live on-site, so there’s a gym and shower nearby. There should be some shorts in there, some shower sandals, maybe even some gym hoodies. After that… I have to figure out a way to get you to my car.”
You didn’t think it would be too hard getting them out. The facility was meant to keep people out, not keep them in, plus it was late and the security would be running a skeleton crew.
Turning to Connor, you motioned toward his armband. “What about those? How do we take them off? With scissors or…”
You trailed off as Connor shook his head. “The electrodes for the monitors are embedded in our muscles. It will take some time to remove them.”
He must have sensed your confusion, because he gave a small shrug and said, “That’s what the technicians said. They often speak as if we’re not there. It allows us to learn many things. You would be surprised how many people leave their phones around, complete with internet access.”
Connor attempted to give you a smile, but that guilt twisted inside you again. The knowledge that you hadn’t been much different than those techs, seeing the cetas as pretty but dumb creatures, made you actually nauseous.
You grabbed a pair of nearby towels from a supply cupboard and handed it to the twins so they wouldn’t have to walk around nude. Neither of them seemed to mind, or have a shred of modesty, but your own face was on fire and you couldn’t come up with a decent plan while you were distracted being in the company of two very attractive, buck-naked men.
It was going to be a long, long night.
“It’s show time, ladies.”
Judging by the switch in the squad of middle aged women who made the west deck their pride rock, Billy Hargrove’s shift had begun.
You only had two hours left of your shift now. Once Billy got on deck, you could finally take a break. Fucking Heather always took an hour instead of the allotted thirty minute break, claiming to be easily susceptible to heat stroke.
As if you weren’t.
Still, now that her shift was over, everything would calm down.
Most people were either enraptured or absolutely terrified by Billy. He was…difficult to deal with.
Sure, he was sweet to the adults of the pool; the people who didn’t get in the way were always a favourite of the staffers, but to the kids? He was a menace. You didn’t understand why he’d take a job where he’d have to prioritize the safety of children.
As if on cue, Billy began his stupid strut to the south chair. You always took the north side, where the sun didn’t hit so hard. This gave Billy ample opportunity to strut around the deck like a peacock, smirking at the moms in heat, drooling over him.
“Afternoon ladies, he crooned as he passed and you swore that at least three of them passed out from the sheer excitement of it all. He nodded to Mrs. Wheeler. Here came the cincher, the line that would make the group’s dreams come true and fuel their fantasies for weeks.
“Dig the new suit, Mrs. Wheeler.” He gave her a nod, chewing on something. If you had to guess, it was probably cinnamon gum. His breath always stunk of the stuff after shifts.
You averted your gaze after that; you knew exactly what would happen next. Billy would climb up onto his post and the ladies would check out his ass, giggling to themselves and high fiving Mrs. Wheeler for earning his attention for the day.
The image of Mrs. Wheeler’s sharply manicured hand gripping the top of her deckchair, mouth half open in utter lust, red lipstick smeared over the lines of her lips and eyes half closed as she stared at him climbing into the chair was something that would stick in your mind for the rest of the shift.
And then there was you on the other end of the pool, watching them like a creep.
Maybe you were the problem.
You had taken the job at the Hawkins Community Pool purely because it was tradition. You took the job every year, strapping into the bright red one piece with your hair pulled tight into a ponytail at the top of your head. You liked the job: the smell of chlorine and the sounds of happy kids splashing in the cold water. It was a relaxing job-most days nothing bad happened. The kids in town all took swim lessons in the winters one town over. Carmel had a heated indoor pool and a great deal on group swim lessons on weekends. You hadn’t seen a kid have a problem in the pool in three summers.
Today, someone had a problem.
You had just climbed out of your chair to head for your break. You were more than ready to step into the lush air conditioning of the office. Your back had only been turned for a second, Billy was supposed to be watching the pool anyway. But when you turned back you heard a scream.
Some weird kid had fallen into the deep end without a lifejacket. He couldn’t have been older than five. You quickly looked up to Billy.
That little fucking bitch.
He was flirting with Mrs. Wheeler.
You blew hard into your whistle, letting out a loud blast before taking off in a full sprint towards the deep end. You dove quickly into the pool and swam up to the kid before grabbing him under the armpits and swimming him into the shallow end, lifting him onto the deck and letting him cough and sputter.
“Do you need assistance? Can you breathe?” you asked quickly, catching your own breath. You had to ensure the victim was actually in need of medical assistance before you performed any life saving manoeuvres on them. The kid nodded quickly as an older man rushed up, bending down to rub his back. The kid immediately broke into tears, gripping tightly onto the man’s legs.
“Thank you.” The man said quickly, picking up the boy, who hugged him like his life depended on it. You assumed he was the parent and didn’t ask any more questions. Usually, you lay in with questions, but the kid couldn’t be more shook up. You watched to see where they’d go, letting out a relieved sigh when the group returned to the Wilson family, all examining the boy. He must be a cousin of theirs, in town for the weekend or something. You could go on your break with the knowledge that you hadn’t let a strange kid go off with an even stranger man who he didn’t know.
You blew your whistle again and pool activities resumed, although more cautiously. Now, you could start your break. But first, a quick pit stop.
You marched your way over to Billy and Mrs. Wheeler. It was as though they lived in their own bubble that sound couldn’t penetrate. Neither of them seemed to notice the commotion or hear the whistle blow. Mrs. Wheeler just kept laughing at whatever Billy was saying. She reached out to bat his arm and her fingers grazed there just a bit too longer, although neither of them noticed.
It was utterly disgusting.
You tapped Billy hard on his shoulder. He didn’t turn around. You tried again. Same response. You let out a loud, annoyed cough. Mrs. Wheeler didn’t even bat an eye at you and she could see you just over his shoulder. You finally blew a hard, short tweet into the whistle, effectively taking out Billy’s eardrum.
He turned fast, his face pulled into a sneer that you could only smile at. “What?” he snapped bitterly, fists clenched at his sides.
“Just wanted to make sure you could still hear. Since you missed the two other times I blew my whistle.” You replied, your fake smile turning sarcastic as you held his gaze.
“Sorry, I must have been distracting him, I’m sure he heard.” Mrs. Wheeler cut in, placing a manicured hand on his shoulder. She looked too proud of that fact, her lustful gaze unhealthy looking.
“That’s alright Mrs. Wheeler.” You looked over her shoulders briefly, catching sight of her group packing up to leave. Your smile turned to a malicious smirk “Oh, your friends seem to be leaving. If you don’t have your locker key, you should go grab it before they leave, don’t want to have your purse get stuck again.”
The last three times she’d come to the pool, she’d given her key to Mrs. Carol Simpson, whose son Billy had threatened to ban upon entering the deck. Mrs. Wheeler ended up stranded without her key, her bag locked in the locked with no way of getting it out. She had to have the janitor of the pool open her locker with the master key and then, to make matters worse, she had to prove that the stuff was hers. All of her things were dumped on the deck as she tried to prove that her granny panties and tampons were hers based on the shrill cries that there was a Minnie Mouse keychain on her purse. She got her stuff back, at the expense of her humility.
“I gave my key to the front desk, won’t lose it again.” Mrs. Wheeler chuckled proudly, an embarrassed flush creeping up her neck and ears.
“Oh, then you should ensure that they still have it. Mara is not the brightest bulb in the bunch, she’d lose her head if it wasn’t screwed on.” You replied, matching her laugh. Mrs. Wheeler’s smile dropped and she rushed off without another word.
You turned your attention back to Billy, your smile dropping away. “I’m going on my break, can you actually do your job while I’m gone.” You snapped bitterly.
“I was. Customer satisfaction is a key part of our job.” He made a big deal out leering at Mrs. Wheeler’s ass as she bent over to grab her things off the chair.
You scoffed “Watch the fucking pool, Hargrove, Mrs. Wheeler and her saggy ass will be back tomorrow.” You turned dramatically on your heel and stomped off.
You could scream. That boy was so…so…fucking frustrating! He was a nuisance and a pervert and a showboater and god, just a pig! All year he’d done nothing but screw anything in a skirt, just whoring around all year and making a mockery of some very nice girls. And now, now he decides to be a one woman man. And the woman is a married mother of three. What the fucking fuck??? How nasty! And she was into it? God who knew Karen Wheeler was a creep? Lock up your sons, mothers of Hawkins, Mrs. Wheeler is on the prowl for jailbait! It made you sick just thinking about it.
Even stepping into the cool office didn’t alleviate the feeling of heat stroke on your skin. You decided that you’d take a cold shower before eating. You couldn’t eat much, you had to go back out to the pool and potentially swim after eating. Usually, you’d take forty-five minutes instead of thirty since nobody was watching anyway, but Billy was distracted today and you didn’t want to risk him fucking up because you were being selfish with your break.
You plopped into the wheeling desk chair, sprawling your limbs and taking in the cold air blasting in the room. You let out a satisfied sigh, letting your head fall back and your eyes flutter shut. You could die happy in the air conditioning.
Billy Hargrove was such an ass. You’d never allow yourself to sleep with him. Not that he’d ever want to, you weren’t exactly his type. You were his lab partner that year and you had heard him on more than one occasion telling Tommy about how ‘shrill’ and ‘annoying’ you were. It wasn’t your fault that you weren’t going to sit around and do all the work for the both of you. And it benefited him! His highest grade that year was in fucking science! He thanked you at the end of the semester! Sure, it was a forced and uncomfortable thank you, and you didn’t need to know that it was his highest grade that year, but still! You two should be good! You should be fine! But instead, you were the shrill bitch who tells him what to do at work. God, you didn’t want to be the awful co-worker, the ‘shrill bitch’ that everyone gossiped about and made fun of, but somebody had to take the job seriously! And not seriously like Billy did, who got out his aggression by yelling at kids and threatening to ban them for the most minor infractions, even though the pool didn’t have a banning system period. No, you had to be the boring, mean one who saved lives and got shit done.
Everybody else got to have fun, you just had to work.
You let your head lull towards the window, peaking out at the pool from the half closed blinds. There was a pack of girls around your age surrounding the lifeguard chair, trying to engage Billy in conversation. God, that’s such a safety hazard, how the hell was he supposed to get down quickly in the event of an emergency? He should tell them to move back away from the ladder. Not that he was even paying attention to them; his eyes were on the pool, watching someone swim across the pool with a half smile. He was ignoring the girls, which was expected, but you were glad to see that…wait.
That’s Mrs. Wheeler.
Jesus Christ this guy!
You groaned, pushing yourself up off the chair and heading into the locker rooms, turning on a shower and blasting cold water over yourself. The initial shiver and burn of the freezing water faded fast and soon Billy Hargrove and his stupid thing face were far from your mind. Every one of your senses was heightened by the icy water that was soaking into your skin. You felt utterly refreshed and calm again. He was far from your mind and so was work in general. As your muscles began to slowly unfurl and release tension, your mind led you to the wonderfully comfortable world of the novel you’d left behind.
You were Anne Shirley on that bridge, waiting glumly for her Gilbert to arrive. And there he was-in his silly bloomers and flat cap, white shirt half buttoned and that smarmy look and that stupid mullet and-fuck. Your eyes shot open. God you couldn’t escape him! Billy fucking Hargrove was intruding on your comfortable dreams in rural 1910s Canada. God, it was weird enough that you were fantasizing about rural 1910s Canada, you didn’t dumbass Billy with his ugly ass tattoo creeping in to make it worse.
You turned off the water, checking the numberless clock over the doors leading out into the pool. Your break was just about over anyway. With a heavy sigh, you headed back out into the blinding sun, tightening your ponytail and climbing back into your chair.
You heard a loud blast from the whistle across the pool. “Hey! No running!” Billy barked from across the pool. Most of the people at the pool turned to look at him, except the pudgy kid who’d started running again. The kid didn’t stop this time, his mother gone now, and he barrelled over a little girl. She went down hard. You grabbed the first aid kit off the back of your chair, walking calmly over to the little girl.
“Hi there, are you alright?” you asked, kneeling down next to her. There was blood running down her tiny leg and cheek, two large scraps from the rough deck that made her skin ragged.
The little girl shook her head, sniffling loudly. She was holding back her tears, trying to be brave. It was very cute. “Can I help you?” you asked, offering her a small smile.
“I’m not supposed to talk to strangers…” the little girl muttered, shaking her head with a quivering lip.
“Well, I’m Y/N, I’m a lifeguard here. What’s your name?”
“Sylvia…” she muttered again, wiping her eyes hard with the back of her tiny hand.
“It’s nice to meet you Sylvia. Can I take a look at those cuts?” you asked. The little girl nodded and you opened the kit. You hadn’t noticed that Billy was looming over you, casting a shadow over you.
“You…okay here?” he asked awkwardly, earning your attention briefly.
“Yeah, we’re okay. You wanna go handle that kid? Ban him or something?” you replied, turning your gaze back to the alcohol swab in hand. “Now, this is gonna sting a little, okay? If it hurts too much you can squeeze my hand.” You offered her your spare hand as you wiped the wound gently.
Billy stood there longer than he should have. He knew he looked weird. He knew he should be tearing that fucking kid a new one. But there you were, smiling at some snot nosed kid, letting her squeeze your hand with her grubby little fingers, putting Barbie Band-Aids on her cuts and checking her head for bumps. You looked so…pretty. You had this look on your face; he’d seen it before when you were reading in class, the world tuned out except for the words on the page. Your eyes crinkled in the corners and lit up bright, your lips curled into a smile that creased your cheeks and scrunched your nose. You pulled a lollipop from the kit, and he knew that you had added those yourself, his didn’t have those. You sent the kid on her way, standing up again and brushing the gravel off your knees.
“You get that kid?” you asked, clicking the kit closed.
Billy swallowed “Nah, he wasn’t worth it.” he said smoothly, trying not to cringe. Since when does he give mercy to kids?
You rolled your eyes “The one time I want you to raise hell, you let a kid slide? You’re losing your touch, Hargrove…” you smirked, walking back to your chair. No faster than you turned away, Billy rushed off to kick that kid’s ass.
He never did what anyone told him. He didn’t know why this time it mattered.
The last hour and a half of your shift surprisingly flew by. And when it was time for Billy’s break, you didn’t even mind staying behind to watch the pool. You pulled the lines across the pool by yourself, preparing for the switch to the adult swim. Mike Wheeler and his grubby friends burst in while you were working.
“The pool area is closed right now. Please wait in the change rooms.” You said, not bothering to look over at the group.
“Is my mom still here?” Mike asked with an annoyed sigh.
“She left about an hour ago.” You replied.
“She said she was gonna drive us home!”
“Is Billy here?” a redheaded girl stepped directly into your view. You recognized her vaguely as Billy’s stepsister, you thought her name was Max but you weren’t sure.
“Yeah, he’s still on the clock for another two hours.”
“Fine, we’ll wait.” She snapped.
You finally looked up at the group, all milling around in their street clothes. You sighed “Okay, you can’t be on the deck in your street shoes. And you can’t be here during adult swim. You’re not adults.” You explained boredly. You turned back towards the office, catching sight of Billy spinning around in the desk chair, banging his head to whatever he was playing through his headphones.
“Follow me.” You said, heading towards the office. You didn’t bother to knock on the door, throwing it open without caution or fear. Not that Billy noticed, he was flailing along to what sounded like, through the muffled sound of his headphones, We Are Not Alone from the Breakfast Club movie. It certainly wasn’t the heavy metal that he associated himself with.
“Hargrove.” You got no response; he did another spin and a dramatic kick. You held back a laugh. He looked so silly. Dare you say…cute? That was something you didn’t think you’d ever say.
“Hargrove!” you cried. He pulled off his headphones quickly, practically jumping out of the chair. You swore there was a light blush on his face, although he could plausibly say it was a sunburn.
“What?!?” He snapped.
“You’re um…you’re stepsister is here…she’s looking for a ride home. What do you want me to tell her?” you asked awkwardly, your hand subconsciously coming to your left arm, rubbing your upper arm awkwardly.
Billy’s scowl dropped away, his face draining of colour “Oh shit um…shit it’s like seven, right?” you nodded awkwardly “Fuck…I gotta get her home…shit. Um, I might be late coming back can you just watch for like ten minutes, I’ll be back I just I gotta-”
You cut him off “I can handle the close for tonight, if you wanna just stay there.” You offered against your better judgement. Usually, you’d never offer to take a close. Closing a pool sucks ass. But…he just looked so utterly freaked out. He looked scared.
“You sure? I can come back, gimme like twenty minutes I can-”
“Nah, I can do two more hours. It’s adult swim, nothing happens anyway.” You replied with a shrug. Billy nodded, rushing out of the room and grabbing the nosy redhead, pushing her out.
He didn’t even say thank you.
Fucking dick.
You rolled your eyes. It wouldn’t be that bad. You finished putting out the lines and took your seat at the furthest end of the pool. As always, the usual old people came in and did their laps. The two hours went by incredibly slow and you wished you’d just offered to drive the brats home. But the hours were great and, luckily, the crowd finished their swim thirty minutes before the pool closed and nobody else came in. You closed off the pool and locked the gates, taking your sweet time to milk the extra minutes out of your shift. You left the pool with damp, clean hair and dried out skin.
You came home to an empty house, your mother promising to be home by ten. There were leftovers in the fridge. You were ready to settle in to a night at home. You slicked your skin in lotion and changed into dry, warm clothes. You piled up your dirty clothes and started a load of swimsuits. You wanted to watch a movie, but you hadn’t gone to the video store before work so all you had were your parent’s crappy recordings of movies from their era, which you had no interest in.
You had an empty house and nothing to do. Then it hit you.
You had a joint in your vent. You cousin Casey finally came in clutch. But you couldn’t smoke it in the house. The smell lingered too long, you’d get caught. You grabbed your keys, your purse, and the joint, scribbling at the bottom of your mother’s note that you’d be back by curfew.
You could hide out anywhere. You always chose the same spot though, out by the quarry where death haunted the weak of heart. The rumour was that the dead body found out there two years prior was actually Will Byers and he’d been replaced by a doppelganger. Either way, the area is supposed to be haunted by the dead little boy found there. You weren’t scared of ghosts which meant that you were always the only person out there. It became your little spot.
The drive there was short and sweet, you’d barely made it through the first song on your driving playlist. You parked close to the water’s edge, turning up your stereo and taking a seat on the hood of your car. You always chose the furthest edge of the quarry, where no one would bother you.
A car pulled up too close to you. You could’ve screamed.
And then you recognized the driver.
“Kill me now…”
Billy stumbled out of the car. His knuckles were bleeding. He had a cut under his eye. He looked…fucking pissed.
“Am-scra, freak.” He snapped, not looking over to see who actually was there.
“You scram, asshole, I was here first.” You snapped back, digging through your purse for a lighter, joint held firmly between your teeth.
Billy didn’t move. He took his seat on the hood of his own car, wrapping gauze tightly around his knuckles, knotting it roughly behind his fingers.
You sighed. You didn’t have a lighter. Hargrove did. You scowled turning to him as he struggled with the wrapping around a Band-Aid, losing it into the quarry.
You pulled one from your bag, holding it out to him “I’ll trade you for a light.” He turned to you with a scowl, looking over the scene. He nodded gruffly, pulling his steel lighter from his back pocket and flicking it open. You leaned over, letting the flame burn the end and start off the joint. You passed him the Band-Aid, which he immediately lost into the dirt.
You pulled another from your bag, letting out a puff from the joint before reaching into your bag. You pulled out your last Band-Aid, jumping off the hood.
“This is my last one. Let me do it.” you replied, pulling open the paper and stepping closer. Billy leaned away defiantly. You sighed, pulling the joint from your lips. “Relax, smoke this, I’m not gonna frisk you or anything.” You said, handing him the joint. He took it without another word, not complaining about free drugs.
You carefully pealed back the Band-Aid, sticking it to the delicate skin of his under eye, covering the cut. You smiled at your work, pulling your hands away from his face quickly. You took the joint back, returning to your seat.
Billy stared at you for a beat too long and you noticed. You caught his eye, raising an eyebrow at him. “What’s your problem?” you asked.
“None of your damn business.” He snapped back angrily, defensively.
You scoffed, rolling your eyes “Geez, chill out man. You were the one staring at me…”
Billy turned away dramatically, crossing his arms over his chest. You noticed for the first time that evening that he was still in his work clothes. You averted your gaze quickly, not wanting to get caught.
Billy spoke first. He didn’t have to, but he did. “Why are you so fucking nice to everyone?” he asked, almost whispering.
“What’d you mean?” you asked, keeping your eyes trained on the smooth, still water pooled just a foot from your feet.
“You helped some kid with a scraped knee, you saved the dumb kid who fell in, you helped me twice, you helped Karen Wheeler-” he listed off bitterly.
“Okay, one: helping those kids is literally our job. And helping you…well, you needed the help and watching you try to open a Band-Aid with your messed up hand was kind of pathetic.” You replied with a laugh. Billy rolled his eyes, turning away from you slightly.
“And…I didn’t exactly help Mrs. Wheeler. I needed her to go away so I could yell at you. She could report me and get me fired if she saw me being pissy with her favourite lifeguard.” You added, looking away.
“Karen wouldn’t do that.” He replied, looking over to you again “You gonna bogart that?” he asked, reaching out for the joint.
“Didn’t think I was sharing.” You passed it to him nonetheless.
“You can’t finish it on your own. I’m helping you.” He took a long drag, coughing on the end as the smoke filled his lungs. “This is shit.”
“It’s better than what Tommy buys.” You replied with a shrug.
“Tommy has shit taste.” He passed it back to you.
You took a long drag, finding courage in the cloudy feeling in your brain to ask a question burning in the back of your mind.
“So what the fuck is up with you and Mrs. Wheeler? Are you actually screwing her or is she just making a scene everyday for no reason?”
Billy chuckled “I’m not telling you.”
You made a face “That’s so fucking gross…she’s your stepsister’s friend’s mom, man. She’s got like three kids.”
Billy’s cocky look slipped away “I know, Y/N.”
“And you still want to screw her? Dude, that’s nasty.”
“I never said I wanted to screw her.”
You gasped loudly “Billy, do I need to call the cops?”
“No! Jesus, Y/N…” he groaned, slapping the hood of his car with a frustrated look “Look, I’m not fucking screwing her.”
“Ohhhh….”
“You tell anyone that and I’ll fucking kill you.” He warned, leaning over to get in your face. You hadn’t realized how close you two were until that moment. You’d both subconsciously moved as close as you could to one another, each of your spare legs hanging off the side, close enough to kick each other but far enough to not have to awkwardly touch.
“Got it, dude. Not like anyone would believe me. You’ve proved yourself to be believed on that front.” You muttered, silently puffing away.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” he asked. He sounded sadder than you expected him to ever sound.
“I mean…everyone in school knows that you’re this…this macho man, de-virginator or some shit,” Billy burst out laughing and you blushed crimson, turning away. “I’m serious! Everyone knows that you get whoever you want.”
“I’ve never gotten you.” He said with a shrug.
“Yeah well I’m a ‘shrill bitch’, remember? Not exactly worth much bragging rights wise.” You countered. Billy didn’t reply, he looked out at the quarry silently.
“Nobody said that.”
“Nobody had to, Hargrove, I hear what you and your friends say. You don’t have to pretend that I’m some prize.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“I’ve literally heard you and Tommy laugh about annoying I am, how I’m shrill and shit. Don’t play stupid.”
Billy didn’t reply immediately, pulling his knees up to his chest.
“I don’t think you’re shrill. You’re a bitch sometimes, but you’re not shrill.” He said quietly.
“Thanks?”
“I mean…you’re cool. You’re good at your job and you’re nice to everyone and you’re hot and you’re smart and shit. You’re chill. Fuck Heather and her friends if they say shit.” He said to the quarry instead of you.
You smiled softly “Thanks, Hargrove…you’re not too terrible either.”
Billy chuckled “Thanks…”
You were both silent for a moment, staring out at the lake. Billy spoke first. “If I don’t tell anyone about it, can I kiss you?”
You furrowed your brow “Why would you want to?” you asked incredulously.
“Why wouldn’t I?” he shot back. You didn’t have an answer to that question. You dropped off the hood of your car, walking up in between his knees, wrapping your hands around his neck.
“You tell anyone about this and I’ll tell everyone about you and Wheeler.” You said, unable to hide the little twinge of nerves in your voice.
He smiled cockily “Deal.” He pulled you down to him by your neck, pressing his mouth to your demandingly, pressing himself up against you and wrapping a free hand around your lower back, fingertips inching towards your ass. Every inch of him was made of fire and it was catching every one of your nerves, igniting them. Your fingers dug into his curls and your nails scraped his scalp. You let out a whimper as his teeth dug into your lower lip and you tugged on his curls.
You broke the kiss first, pressing your palms into his chest and taking a deep, slow breath. He smirked up at you and you found yourself smiling back.
“Friends?” he asked cockily, pressing the joint into your half open mouth.
“Sure…” you breathed out, taking a long drag off the joint.
18 or 45! 💖
Thank you for the prompt! Sorry it took me a while to get back to you but I’m sure this will more than make up for it. Also two in one day? Look at me go!
My ask box is always open if anyone wants to drop a prompt from the list or just spout an idea off the dome!
I’ll get around to doing both. But here’s one just for now.
#18: “This is… exactly what it looks like”
Sailor Boy
Billy knew Steve’s routine as if it were his own, written all over his arm in permanent ink. He knew Monday was inventory day, Tuesday was delivery day. Wednesday and Thursday were Steve’s days off. Friday and Saturday Scoops Ahoy stayed open late, to coincide with the mall’s longer opening hours due to the movie theatre on the top floor, owners of the nautical based ice cream franchise clearly hoping that maybe movie goers would want to sneak in a cone or a tub mid flick.
Friday was when Billy finished early. His last swim class was at three. He could easily be done by five, shower just enough of the chlorine smell off his skin, change and be parked at the mall by six. He had taken the same route so many times now he could do it with his eyes closed, knew every stop sign, the rhythm of the traffic lights. How the cops liked to hide behind that low billboard on Maple to catch potential speeders heading out of town.
Even if he’d spent all of Thursday with Steve, rolling around his parents fucking mansion like the both owned the place, Friday was Billy’s favourite day. Friday he got to see his little sailor boy at work. Steve hated his uniform, he wasn’t shy about ever saying so. Hated the dumb hat, hated the dumb shirt that got itchy after two days of wear if it didn’t get washed in between, hated the socks he had to wear up to just below his knees that would constantly fall down, hated the fact his whole uniform felt wipe clean even though it wasn’t in the slightest. The one thing Steve hated and complained about most though, were the shorts. They were long and baggy and unshapely.
“It’s like wearing a sown up trash bag man, honestly!”
Billy loved those shorts. He loved the deep but not navy blue of their colour, he loved the white stripe that ran along the bottom of each cuff, he loved the deep pockets than ran much further down Steve’s thighs than they had any right too, he wasn’t carrying all that much around with him day to day, but most of all Billy loved the elasticated waistband. Always hidden almost halfway up Steve’s stomach the shorts were so big on his skinny frame.
Well, not skinny. Just skinnier than Billy. Steve still had plenty of muscle definition even if he was eating spoons of ice cream all day now, stealing maraschino cherries straight from the jar and rolling them with their juice in little cups of chocolate sprinkles, swearing blind he’d invented the greatest semi-healthy snack of all time just because at one point it had been a fruit.
Billy also knew that 6:15 was when Steve’s little work friend, that smart mouthed girl with too much eyeliner, went on her final break even though the store shut at eight. He knew to time it so good that sometimes he’d stroll in and Steve would still be talking like it was still her.
This day wasn’t one of those days. He strolled through the big open doors, that stupidly cheery music playing on a constant loop that must have driven Steve completely mad sometimes, to find him scooping up ice cream to display on their tubs. The place was dead. It always was. No one ever left the movie theatre mid picture to come down two floors just for ice cream, when the concessions were right outside. He kept scooping and piling even though Billy knew he had seen him. The corners of his lips twitched just a little then damped back down. Hiding a grin. Billy could play this game. He leant over the counter, pressing his chest up to the glass, knowing it would smudge just a little. No longer perfectly clear. Streaked with the last stubborn remnants of suntan lotion a crappy public shower couldn’t remove. Steve raised his head after a few long minutes into their stalemate and was still trying not to smile.
“Sir,” Oh he had on his customer service voice too, Billy loved that, it made the game more fun and he couldn’t hide the grin it caused to grow on his face. “Can I help you with anything?”
“That depends,” he pushed himself off the counter and slowly started spinning around the container of rainbow sprinkles, unscrewing the cap. “I’m looking for something specific.” He sucked on the tip of his finger and rolled it in the first layer of sprinkles until his fingertip was completely coated. Billy knew Steve hated when he did that. Both hated and loved it. Hated it because it was kind of disgusting, but loved it, cause, well, Steve was kind of disgusting. Under all the rich daddy’s boy front he was willing to try some kinky shit and Billy just drank up every last drop he could squeeze out. Billy wiggled his sprinkle coated finger around, watching Steve’s eyes follow it around like fish to bait, growing darker by the second.
“Well, I think I can be of some assistance….” he spoke calmly, and walked around more to the side of the counter. Billy matched his steps. He wasn’t quite over the invisible ‘employees only’ line just yet. They locked eyes and Steve’s were nearly black with desire. He took Billy’s hand in his cold ones, they had just been in a freezer after all, and he pulled gently. He popped Billy’s sprinkle covered finger into his mouth and let his eyes get hooded, in the way he knew drove Billy crazy, especially when that perfect wide tongue started cleaning up the sugar speckled digit and with his pretty boy pout sucking further down to the second knuckle, then the third with clear intent, firm muscle sweeping back and forth and around Billy’s rougher skin, rendering his brain fucking mush every time.
Steve let the finger go with a wet, but soft, pop, letting his eyes open again. Billy glanced a look down and there was a definite tent in those hated shorts. They both crashed together at the same time, kissing feverishly as Billy pushed and Steve pulled, both of them stumbling through the swinging door and up against the wall next to the always empty notice board. Billy pinned Steve up to it, knocking the cap off his head in the process as they kissed deeper, licking into each other’s mouths and sharing the taste of chemically coloured sugar. Steve’s needy hands found Billy’s hips easily and pulled, hard, letting out the sweetest little desperate moan as Billy’s thicker thigh found its way between his own. Billy let Steve’s lips go, kissing over his jaw heavily, and moved his leg higher, tighter, to ring out more delicious sounds.
His little sailor was always so cute trying to be quiet, especially at work, but Billy knew him inside out. Had made it his job to know every button Steve Harrington had, how and when to push them, which threads to pull at to watch him completely unravel. One of the first things they ever did, out in the quarry in the back of Billy’s camaro, Steve had humped his thigh like a bitch in heat. Steve loved his thighs. He was never shy in showing so. They were one of the big flashing buttons to push, to the point of Steve couldn’t come to the pool if Billy was on shift or risk popping a semi then and there just seeing a flash of red covering not very much leg.
Like this though, pressed up against the wall, Billy had all the control. Steve was pliant, warming his cold hands on Billy’s sun soaked stomach under his shirt, going over his abs with needy thumbs. Billy worked his thigh harder. Steve groaned biting his lip so not to let it all come streaming out loud and hot. He started grinding his hips at long last, all the layers of fabric between skin doing nothing but adding deliciously painful friction, as Billy nibbled his earlobe.
Yeah, Harrington had a lot of buttons. And god if they weren’t fun to press.
Deep down Billy wanted to ruin Steve for good. Even if what they had, whatever it was, wasn’t a long term plan and just a way to blow off steam for the long hot summer months, Billy was determined that no one would ever rock his little sailor’s boat like he could. No one would ever make Harrington come like he could, no one would ever make him cry out in the middle of the night with his peachy ass burning with hand marks like he could, no one would make him choke on a cock behind the arcade in broad daylight where they could be seen at any moment and still have those swollen come shiny lips beg for more like an angel’s prayer like he could.
Whether he knew it or not, Steve was going to be ruined for the rest of his days.
Billy growled next to his ear possessively. His sailor melted and ground his hips harder, starting to get desperate so soon. God if that didn’t make Billy’s dick kick something horrific in his jeans.
“Needy tonight huh baby?” Billy grunted roughly in his deepest voice, the one he knew that if Harrington had a pussy, it would make him gush buckets and ruin those shorts. “Did I not do a good job filling you up yesterday?” Billy pulled Steve’s hips off the wall to get his hands on that perfect peach, where he knew it must have been difficult to sit down all day, what with how red and sore it looked the night previous. He felt Steve’s hips stutter for just a moment, hissing around a moan as his body wasn’t sure if it was pleasure or pain or both it wanted to express. Billy wanted to laugh. He did keep singing harder god please harder so had no one but himself to blame for the mess he was in.
“Too good,” Steve sighed out as Billy worked his hands down the back of that elasticated waist, past his own briefs Steve had stolen that morning, grabbing handfuls of tenderized meat and squeezing rough. The noise Steve made was exquisite, his hips starting to rock again faster and stronger, pushing forward and pushing back in equal measure with no set rhythm. Billy loved when he was like this, his little plaything, teetering on the edge of no return.
“Let me see baby,” he muttered, dripping with heat and desire. “Don’t wanna get your uniform all messy. Captain will be mad.”
Steve scrambled to push his shorts and briefs down just enough for the thick, gleaming head to pop free but the rest still be trapped and untouched, pushing his shirt up over his stomach, fingers trembling and lips quivering around a sound that couldn’t be kept quiet as Billy’s sucked on but now dry digit found his sailor’s well used hole. His cock throbbed visibly between them, pushing out more shiny clear liquid that threatened to stain Billy’s pale denim jeans. God it made Billy’s mouth water. And if he wasn’t rock hard before he definitely was now.
But later. That was for later. They were running out of time.
Billy worked his thigh harder still, trying to keep up with Steve’s erratic hips which was no easy job, drinking down his noises of pure ecstasy, until his whole body stuttered and tensed and he came with a cry that couldn’t be contained, creamy white come splashing up his torso and staining his already pale skin. Billy smirked like the devil, kissing Steve deeply as he tried to pant coming down, taking his hands out of his boy’s shorts, only just managing to tuck him away and let his shirt fall over the mess when the door swung open and there was eyeliner girl, right on time. As always.
Steve had the dignity and had regained just enough mental function to look embarrassed, even if he was still panting like a mutt trying to speak with Billy all up in his space, greedy for it all. No one laid eyes on his sailor boy.
“It’s… fuck… I’m sorry Rob…”
She stared back blankly at the two of them, setting a Burger King milkshake, if Billy had to hazard a guess it would be strawberry flavoured, on the counter they had back here, simply saying “You’re scraping the freezer tonight,” before going back through the door from where she’d came.
Billy didn’t let Steve stand back up straight away, even as he knew the messy spatter of come was starting to dry and cause the uniform to stick to his slender body. He cupped Steve’s cheek and kissed him, rough but sweet. As sweet as Billy did really. Steve melted for it each time. Another button. Another step of ruining.
“I’ll be waiting,” he said, getting Steve solid on his feet before letting go and walking away like he wasn’t painfully hard. The girl scowled at him blankly out front, especially when he took a cherry from the jar and grinned with it between his teeth while holding the stem, walking backwards out of the store and giving her a two finger salute from his forehead.
“Captain...”
Billy walked with purpose back to his car out front, having parked in his usual spot near the back where it wasn’t under one of the tall lights that illuminated most of the area, getting straight in to sit on his backseat and wait. He checked the time on his watch and lit up a well needed cigarette.
He had 45 minutes to wait for his little sailor to pull into harbour.
The colour of silver jewellery can darken from its reaction with moisture or the sulphur compounds in the air, but the tarnish can easily be prevented with some cool hacks. Here are some tips on how to keep your dainty sterling silver trinkets as shiny as new.
Caring When Stored
It may feel great that you have your timeless sterling silver jewellery safely locked in your storage but remember, storing it in the right way to avoid tarnish is key to the lustre of your jewellery. First and foremost, it is important to store the silver jewellery in a cool, dark and dry place.
Secondly, keep the silver jewellery in storage bags or even zip pouches, all our online order will include one for you, and ensure that you push out any excess air from the bag. As a precautionary step to absorb moisture, you can also wrap your jewellery in its polishing cloth.
Hint: you may want to place silica gel sachets inside your jewellery organiser or case, that act as a dehumidifier.
It is a good idea to store your silver jewellery away from direct sunlight, and never leave your jewellery sitting in the bathroom.
Check up our custom design mini round shaped Jewellery Case Organiser, crafted from 100% Top Grain First Layer Genuine Leather.
Caring During and After Wearing
Have a date night and want to look your best? Your sterling silver necklace will do the trick of enhancing your get-up but consider putting on your necklace at the end when you get ready. Apply moisturiser, hair spray and perfumes before wearing the silver necklace and not after.
Also, when you wear your sterling silver neckpiece it touches the moisture in your body that may lead to discolouration of the jewellery if not taken care of. But a simple cleaning step can save you the stress.
After you come back from your outing, hold your silver jewellery under warm running water to remove any dirt and then dry it completely - first by air-drying and then rubbing any residue with a clean and soft cloth. And voila, your silver necklace is free from moisture and ready to sleep in your jewellery box until you wear them again.
But hey, jewellery is not just to be stored as an asset but to adorn your look and personality. Plus, it is healthy for the jewellery too to be worn as the natural oil of your skin makes it radiant and glow.
Caring by Not Wearing Under Certain Circumstances
While you may want to flaunt your sterling silver earrings everywhere you go, wearing them literally ‘everywhere’ is perhaps not such a good idea. Take swimming as an example. If you wear your silver earrings to the swimming pool, it will have a chemical reaction with the chlorine present in the pool water and as a result, the earrings will lose their polish and colour. Similarly, your silver earrings will be damaged if it comes in contact with seawater.
Of course, taking a shower won’t do a lot of damage to the sterling silver earrings but exposing them to too much water and moisture will still darken their colour. In case you forget to remove your earrings before going for a bath, make sure you dry them later. Also, you may lose your earrings while bathing, so it is wise to remove them before stepping into the shower.
You would also want to avoid wearing your sterling silver earrings during a workout. The sweat that your body releases during exercise will have an adverse effect on your silver earrings.
Easy Home Tricks to Clean & Polish Your Sterling Silver
Toothpaste: Apply toothpaste on a soft cloth and slowly rub on the jewellery in a to-and-fro pattern.
Soapy water: Mix a mild soap in warm water and gently clean your silver jewellery. Don’t forget to do the drying round after washing.
Baking soda: Combine 1/4 cup of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of water and rub the thick paste tenderly on the silver jewellery followed by the drying process. You can also replace water with vinegar in the mixture for better results.
Lemon juice and olive oil: Another winning solution for polishing sterling silver is the lemon juice and olive oil mixture. Simply dip a clean cloth in the mix and wipe your silver jewellery.
I was asked to put the continuation of the Rinharu 3x10 meet on AO3 by several sweet people, so I finally decided to do it. Here is the link. I’ll post it here, too, anyways. Careful, it's explicit after the ***.
_________
“You… you didn’t even bother to text me about the races.” Haru whispered. “You didn’t have to write me long letters, anything would be enough.”
Rin couldn’t even look him in the eyes.
“It wouldn’t be enough for me. I can’t just… casually text you.”
“You have no problems with everybody else. Why does it have to be me? Don't I mean anything to you?”
You mean too much. Rin wanted to say, but the words got stuck in his throat. Faced with silence, Haru felt his eyes starting to water.
"I thought everything was different this time. I told you back there... when you asked me to see the sakura before you left. But now you don't even think of me as a friend?"
“I.. I d-do.” He stuttered, “I didn’t mean to do this. It’s just you’re.. you…”
“Is this supposed to make me feel special?” There wasn’t even a real bite in his words. “We keep doing this over and over again, you’re leaving, you’re coming back without saying a word… Do you know how it made me feel when Gou mentioned that you were home on holidays for years and didn’t even want to see me?! Do you know how…” His voice broke when he realized that he was crying and saw the absolute horror on Rin’s face. For the first time in all these years he was really crying in front of somebody and it had to be Rin. Of course it had to be Rin.
He quickly turned away in embarrassment having an urge to run as far away from here as possible, when he felt strong arms enveloping around him, warm breath on his neck, wet drops sipping through the collar of his shirt. Haru wanted to move, but Rin only tightened his hold.
“I’m so in love with you, I can’t even think straight.”
Haru froze, it was barely a whisper, maybe he heard it wrong.
“I’m such an idiot, I’m sorry, please don’t cry. I can’t handle seeing you cry.” But Haru only felt himself starting to shake even more.
“Let go of me, Rin.” His voice hoarse.
He practically felt the man behind him panic so he raised his hand, tangled his fingers in maroon hair and pulled, turning around to meet with the red pair of eyes. He gently wiped the trace of tears on Rin’s cheek, really looking at him for the first time after all these months.
“You are such an idiot.” He barely whispered.
They were standing so close to each other, Haru's hand caught Rin's palm, trying to bring it to his face, but Rin suddenly drew his hand back, squeezing Haru's wrist and lightly nuzzling it with the tip of his nose.
"Wait... just a second." Rin's voice was shaking, when he lowered himself on the pool tile, pulling Haru with him.
Seven years these feelings burned inside of him, seven years he tried to deny them, unbearable and almost painful at times, that started to blossom from that first damn tournament when he looked into those clear as water blue eyes. He just knew that now that he got what he was longing for for so long, his knees would surely give out. His hand got under Haru's shirt, tightly grasping his waist and he felt him shiver. Haruka softly squeezed Rin's earlobe, catching a strand of his hair. His every move was so fluid and effortless that Rin inadvertently remembered how enraptured he was when he saw him in the water the first time. And ever since.
Haru's tongue lightly grazed Rin's lower lip and he felt them both tremble in anticipation. His hand clutched Haru's side so firmly he was sure, it will leave bruises. He thought it would be slow like a rising tide, but after Haru got a taste, he let out a shuddering breath and his mouth completely covered Rin's lips. All that he remembered was the smell of the chlorinated water, the burning movements of the tongue, something sharp grazing his skin, trying to make him bleed and the sudden blast of never-ending raindrops, flowing over them. But even the downpour couldn't tear them away from each other.
Rin's wet palms slid up Haru's spine, pushing his shirt higher and higher, water was dripping between their lips, mixing with their saliva and cooling each scalding brush of the tongue. It was the most intoxicating feeling Haru has ever felt in his life, he couldn't describe it with any words. He remembered how every time he saw Rin he was annoyed when the fever spread throughout his body, but now he gladly accepted it.
Don't resist the water, embrace it. Then it will let you in and envelop you. Rin was everywhere: in his every breath and every move, and nothing could compare to this feeling.
***
Rin couldn't even remember how they got to the apartment, only that Haru didn't let go of his hand the whole way. While Rin tried to peel off the soaked shirt from his body, Haru somehow managed to shed all of his clothes. Cold and wet after the rain skin clung to his, one of Haru's hand went down his spine and under his boxers, another unbuttoned his jeans trying to pull them down.
He remembered how Haru for a moment left his arms to take something from the nightstand, remembered long graceful fingers opening and touching the most sensitive places inside of his body, remembered how he was ready to scream when he felt Haru's lips on his inner thigh and how he pulled his hair so he would stop... Later... later he wants to play out all of his fantasies that haunted him all these years. But not now. Now Rin wanted to feel him in the closest way possible, the way he dreamt about the most.
Haru filled him up torturously slow, but then as if he couldn't hold back anymore abruptly pushed his hips forward. Rin cried out and felt his muscles tremble and tighten. He felt hot wetness on his stomach.
"S-stop..." His whole body was shaking. Did he just... he felt his cheeks flush. To be honest Rin was surprised that he didn't lose it back at the pool when Haru painfully moved on top of him. He whined as if completely giving up.
"God, I feel like I can't breathe even when I'm looking at you. I feel like I'm losing it." Rin's voice broke. "You... I... I can't think..."
Haru tried to fight the pleasure that was clutching at the bottom of his stomach to control his voice, but it was still hoarse when he spoke.
"I can't either." Rin could almost feel actual pain in his soft voice. Haru's fingers were shaking when they removed wet hair from Rin's cheek "God, I've wanted you for too long." Unable to bear the burning look in his blue eyes, Rin brought his lips to the slightly-opened mouth and bit Haru's tongue, then grazing it with the tip of his own. At the same time he pushed his hips up, silently asking for him to start moving. He almost heard "finally" in Haru's lingering moan, when he started to move.
Rin desperately tried to string a few words, but it felt like his brain melted, all his thoughts were focused on the heady feeling of want that were piercing his whole body. He knew that the first time should be painful, especially if you're both inexpirienced (and even if was Rin thought that he still wouldn't care.. he dreamt about it for too long) ... but then why everything that Haru did to him only made him feel the almost unbearable pleasure?
"You.. I thought you said you never..."
Haru never lied, Rin knew that, but at the same time with the amount of Nanase's admirers it was hard to imagine that nobody made a move yet. Haru furrowed his brows, blue eyes looked at him strangely, it seemed like it took a lot of effort for him to part his tightly-pressed lips. A soft moan that slipped from them made Rin shiver, Haru froze inside of him.
"I never wanted anyone else." he whispered, his hand slowly went down Rin's chest, stopped on his stomach and slightly pushed. "I just feel you, that's all."
Rin frantically swallowed. Ignoring his hard agitated flesh, Haru's fingers glided along his ribs, then under him stopping on the curve of his spine.
"You just never saw yourself in the water. When you dive in, you curve your back and the water bends and caresses you right here." He touched the sensitive skin and Rin forgot how to breathe, he thought he'd lose his mind from this torture.
"And when you turn, you push away so hard that the wave softly hits you here." Haru's hand went down Rin's thigh and touched the back of his knee making his body tremble.
Rin choked from another viscous move of Haru's hips and quetly moaned "oh god", trying to cover his mouth with his palm. But Haru's hand suddenly pushed his shoulder into the bed so hard, that Rin shuddered and sharply exhaled. Haru froze in fear and quickly put his hand away, gripping the sheet in his fist.
"S...Sorry."
"Put it back. I like it..." Rin's voice was very quiet. "I like it, when you lose control because of me."
Hearing that made Haru smile. All of his childhood he thought that everything Rin did was to piss him off. But the problem was that it's not what he did made Haru lose his cool, it was the fact that Rin was the one who did it, that made Haru react so strongly. And Haru didn't even try to hold it in, he just let the emotions run free, letting them both enjoy these moments of chaos in their regular lives.
Haruka found Rin's hand and weaved their fingers together, carefully shifting his weight. The warm smile that appeared on his face has made Rin's heart beat in a wild rhythm. His another hand Haru propped up the bed. Letting out a shaking breath he pulled back and Rin immediately locked his legs around his hips, as if he was afraid that Haru's going to disappear. But Haruka just pulled Rin's lower lip between his making him open his mouth, his tongue circled his gums, when he firmly pushed inside of Rin, filling him to the brim. Rin cried out, but the sound drowned in the kiss. Haru's hips started to move.
Rin always thought that there was something almost sinful in Haru's swimming, and he couldn't fathom what his unbelievably sensual movement of his hips looked like... but now under the powerful, maddening thrusts he realised... god, he never wanted anyone to look at Haru during swimming anymore.
It was like Haru knew all the ways to make him lose his mind. Thrusts became even harder and faster and in the back of his mind Rin already was wishing even for a glimpse of pain, so it would clear his head for a second, but each time Haru somehow curved his spine and filled him up so sweetly and so right, as if he was doing it his whole life.
Rin clawed at Haru's back not even trying to hold back the loud moans, that was falling from his lips.
"Ha.. Haru, I can't... It's too..."
The words got cut, when he felt his muscles spasm around the hot flesh, he was shaking violently when he spilled, letting himself immerse in pleasure. Haru let out a strained moan, pressing his head to Rin's chest. Rin's hand got entangled in his hair trying to bring him even closer. God, he wanted to hear this sound forever. It was better than any of his wet dreams. He would've been embarrassed that he didn't even need to touch himself, but now the only regret he had was that he was so absorbed in his own passion that he could even see Haru's face in that last moment.
All the thoughts flew away though when he felt that despite the fact that he felt the hot wetness inside of him, he also realized that Haru was still hard inside of him. Then Rin thought that he would probably not survive this night. The only thing he couldn't beat Haru at was his unbelievable stamina. Clouded eyes looked at him for a second, then Haru licked the drop of sweat flowing down Rin's neck and touched his earlobe with the tip of his nose.
"More." he whispered barely audible and Rin let out a low moan. *** They didn't want to let go of each other for a very long time. Only when Rin's legs refused to listen to him anymore, he agreed to turn onto his stomach. Haru just pushed his knee up the sheet, almost lazily pushing inside of him. Rin would've complained about not seeing his face, but Haru covered him with his body so fully, that he was even closer to him now, his breath was hot near his ear, and the sheet created the friction that made Rin bite into the pillow so he wouldn't scream.
Haru cooled down only when the sky started to lighten up. He settled them both on their sides, plastered to Rin's back. They couldn't keep their eyelids open anymore, but Haru still got to murmur something that sounded "also wanted to do it in the shower". Rin couldn't even find a strength to laugh. It's good that there was no practices tomorrow. He didn't think he could move even for an inch now, but he didn't regret even a bit. To be honest, Rin would be happy to spend the whole month like this. And even then it wouldn't be enough to settle down all the want that built up during all the years.
Haru was pressed so close to his back that his warm breath tickled Rin's sensitive skin. He suddenly remembered the night in the hotel in Australia when he first felt Haru's nose on his neck when he probably accidentaly cuddled to him during the night. Back then Rin was scared to even breathe.
Now Haru's whole body was glued to his, his arm wrapped around him laying on his abs, bended knee was brazenly pushed between Rin's legs. Rin squeezed Haru's hand tightly. He didn't need to painfully hold his ragged breath in fear that Haru would wake up and push away from him. He can no longer be afraid to fall asleep thinking that this one night is the only touch he will ever get. He can no longer fear that when the morning comes it will be the last time he falls asleep with him in one bed.
Rin brushed his hand to Haru's elbow and back, his body still refused to move properly and he felt the weakness in all of his muscles, but he didn't want to close his eyes. Some part of him still thought it was more like a dream. The best dream he has ever seen in his life.
***
First thing that Rin felt when he woke up was the tastiest smell of the fried bacon... from the window?
The sunlight blinded him, way too bright for a 6 o'clock in the morning. Did he slept through his jogging time? He brought his hand up to find the clock to see what time it is, but he didn't feel his nightstand and his hand limply dangled alongside the bed.
When his consciousness finally caught up with his awakening body, Rin's eyes flew wide open and he abruptly sat down on the bed. Hissing fell from his lips. God, his neck and his back didn't hurt that much even during his first training in Australia.
A long string of pictures flashed before his eyes: the pool, Haru crying, Haru licking the water from his lips, Haru... wasn't next next to him, but the sticky skin and disobidient body proved that it wasn't a dream. Somehow making his legs work, Rin got up from the bed. With great difficulty he put on his jeans, that were lying on the floor, and started to walk down the stairs thinking that his heart wouldn't survive if Haru wasn't there.
But what he saw knocked him down even harder and Rin even rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times. Haru standed in the kitchen not in his usual apron and swim trunks, but in only one t-shirt, barefoot, his hair was all out of place as if he just got out of bed and missed his holy regimen of being in a bathtub. His usual calm gaze was fixed on the pan where something loudly spluttered.
Rin let out an indistinct sound, and Haru immediately turned his head to him. After a second Haru's hands were already full of Rin, saying something unintelligible, the only word Haruka could make out was "dreaming".
"Why did you put on the pants?" Haru kissed the tip of his nose and Rin was on the verge of crying. He was really here, he was with him all night, and he still wanted him to stay. "It'll get burned." Haru flinched to the pan, still holding Rin's hands aroung his waist and making him follow. Rin dropped his chin on Haru's shoulder looking from behind and made a surprised noise. His stomach loudly growled and Haru softly chuckled.
"I thought you didn't eat bacon." Rin murmured. There's no way Haru went to the store looking like this.
He thought he saw Haru's cheek flush a bit.
"I was waiting for you, you know." It seemed like he could've described his whole life that way.
Rin froze. He realized that Haru didn't just wait for him, he was planning to offer Rin to stay with him, when he gets to Tokyo. He felt like something fluttered in the pit of his stomach.
"Did.. did you want me to stay with you?"
"I just thought that your home is far away, and Sousuke lives with his brother, and to find a new apartment here you need a lot of time, Makoto also had a hard time of finding something close to his university when he wanted to move from campus."
Haruka said all this in his usual calm and emotionless voice, as if it was something self-evident, but all Rin could think about was that Haru wanted him to stay with him even before he got back home and he felt something warm spread thoughout his body.
Rin gripped him tightly in his arms, while Haru caressed his neck without turning around. Home.
