Managing Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis: Evidence-Based Solutions
Hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA) can significantly impact your mobility and quality of life. At Well+Able Integrated Health, we understand that living with osteoarthritis can be challenging, but evidence shows there are effective ways to manage your symptoms and improve your overall well-being. Our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) specialize in therapies that can help you feel and move better, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Understanding Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a common joint condition that occurs when the cartilage that cushions your joints breaks down over time. This can lead to pain, stiffness, and swelling in the affected areas, especially in weight-bearing joints like the hips and knees. While there’s no cure for OA, a combination of treatments can help you manage your symptoms and maintain an active lifestyle.
Why Exercise Matters
Regular exercise is one of the most effective ways to manage osteoarthritis. It strengthens the muscles around your joints, improves flexibility, and reduces pain. Studies show that combining education about pain with a structured walking program can enhance physical activity levels and improve joint function. Our RMTs can provide guidance on safe and effective exercises tailored to your needs.
Benefits of Pool Exercise
If weight-bearing exercises are too painful, aquatic therapy can be a great alternative. Exercising in water reduces the strain on your joints while still allowing you to build strength and improve your range of motion. Many of our clients with knee osteoarthritis find that pool exercises help them stay active without exacerbating their symptoms.
The Role of Registered Massage Therapy
At Well+Able, our RMTs are skilled in manual therapy techniques, including DermoNeuroModulation (DNM). DNM focuses on gentle, pain-free treatments that aim to calm the nervous system and improve your body’s ability to move and heal. Here’s how massage therapy can help with osteoarthritis:
Reduce Pain: Gentle manual therapy can alleviate joint pain and stiffness.
Support Mobility: Massage therapy helps relax tight muscles and improve joint range of motion.
Personalized Care Plans
Your journey with osteoarthritis is unique, and your treatment should be too. At Well+Able, our RMTs work closely with you to create a personalized plan that may include manual therapy, exercises, and practical advice for managing your symptoms. This collaborative approach empowers you to take control of your health and see real results.
A Holistic Approach to Osteoarthritis
Managing osteoarthritis isn’t just about addressing the physical symptoms. It’s also about improving your overall quality of life. At Well+Able Integrated Health, we’re committed to supporting you through:
Education: Understanding how OA works and what you can do to manage it is a key part of your treatment plan.
Encouragement: We help you stay motivated to stick with your exercise routine and other treatments.
Compassionate Care: Our RMTs are here to listen and provide the care you need to feel your best.
Take the First Step
If you’re ready to take control of your hip or knee osteoarthritis, our team of experienced RMTs at Well+Able Integrated Health is here to help. We offer personalized treatments designed to reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance your quality of life.

content warning: residential schools //
as Orange Shirt Day / The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation nears [September 30] I want to give a bit of context to those internationally who might not know that this day is.
Orange Shirt Day was started by Phyllis Webstad and others in 2013. This is a day to reflect and promote reconciliation, as well as uplift and support the victims and communities impacted by the Canadian residential school system. This is also the origin of the Every Child Matters movement.
The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, as it's known by the Canadian government, was only formed as an official national day in 2021 after 200 unmarked graves were discovered on the property of the former Kamloops indian residential school that same year. Currently there are estimated thousands of graves on residential school properties; many of which have not been properly addressed.
Kivalliq Hall was the last residential school in Canada and closed in 1997. This is not some far-off distant history thing, many people alive today were sent to residential schools as children.
If you want to give support, consider donating to the Indian Residential Schools Survivor Society, or Orange Shirt Day. The IRSSS does fantastic work, offering counselling and numerous support lines - including one for 24/7 crisis support. I'd also like to mention Reconciliation Canada, as they also do good work.
This is a small personal anecdote here, but I'd like to recommend checking out Indian Horse; a novel by the late Richard Wagamese that follows the life of a boy going through the residential school system. There is also a film adaptation by the same name. This book [and its film] offers valuable education on the dark history that is residential schools.
I'm always happy to have additional links and educational material added to my posts, so please do not hesitate to add onto this. thank you.

Tumblr media
in which wyatt proposes to you.
warnings; none that i can think of? unless you count la la land as a warning because that movie is traumatic let’s be real
21 year old Wyatt Johnston looked at his teammate, Logan Stankoven, a Nikon camera displayed obviously in his hands. The Toronto, Canada native smiled nervously. "Calm down, Wyatt. You've got this, it's alright."
He nodded at Logan as he turned the camera on to record.
"Hey Wyatt!"
"Hey mom! Uhh... I actually... I wanted to give you a call and let you know some big news. You've probably seen this coming now for a little bit, but I want to let you know that I'm planning on asking Y/N to marry me."
"Oh, Wyatt! It's about time!"
dear y/n,
the moment i saw you i knew my life would change forever. the first thing i said to you was that you are going to be my wife. well, now i want to make that a reality. with you by my side on this journey through life i know we will continue to grow closer and our love will deepen. most of the time will be amazing. some of the time, maybe not. but i know that it's always going to be fun with my best friend helping me along the way. you're the most loving, courageous, and strongest person i've ever met. i can't wait for a lifetime full of smiles, laughter, competition, adventure, and ice cream with you.
sincerely yours,
wyatt :)
"Y/N, right now you think I'm at morning practice... and I lied to you." Wyatt chuckled into the camera, much to the entertainment of his 21 year old teammate behind it. Suddenly, he grabbed the camera from Logan, "However, Logan's leaving for Kamloops a week from now, and that's when I was gonna propose."
Logan chuckled, "Yeah, about that. I pushed my flight back a day so that I could be here to help you on the actual day." he turned to Wyatt with a wide smile on his face, and Wyatt pulled him into a tight hug.
THE MORNING OF THE PROPOSAL:
Logan Stankoven found himself behind the Nikon camera once again, recording Wyatt Johnston hanging up pictures of himself and his beautiful girlfriend, Y/N.
There was a picture of you and Wyatt eating ice cream in Italy with a ton of birds surrounding you, a picture of Wyatt in the stands cheering you on at your recent graduation, a picture of you doing the same at one of his NHL games, and another picture of you back in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. Then there was his favorite picture of the two of you - you two slow dancing by the fire on Christmas Eve.
Wyatt remembered that night vividly. The song 'Dream A Little Dream of Me' by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong was playing softly in the background, and your boyfriend had his arms snaked softly around your waist, your arms hanging loosely around his neck. You both had huge grins plastered onto your faces, and the night was all-around unforgettable.
All in all, there were close to 100 pictures strung all around yours and Wyatt's shared apartment. Logan gently sent the camera down on the kitchen table and made sure it was facing him and his 21 year old teammate before helping Wyatt hang up a long line of twinkling fairy lights above the multiple photos.
Making his way back behind the camera, Logan asked, "So, what's the plan?"
Wyatt smiled, "It's our five year anniversary today, so I'm heading to Y/N's apartment and picking her up for a date. Our first date was just your classic dinner and a movie, so I'm doing the exact same thing tonight. I'm taking her to eat at the same restaurant we ate at five years ago today and then we're seeing the same movie, La La Land, because it's back in theaters tonight only, so that works out so perfectly."
Logan smiled, "This is going to be so cute. She's going to love it."
THE NIGHT OF THE PROPOSAL:
Wyatt held hands with his amazing and beautiful girlfriend (and hopefully soon to be fiancée) as they made their way to the front door of his apartment. Little did you know, Wyatt's teammate and your best friend, Logan Stankoven, was behind that door, a black Nikon camera in his hands in order to capture the magical events that would unfold soon.
As the door opened, the first thing you noticed was Logan filming, and you looked at him and then your boyfriend with a confused look on your face. Logan smiled cheekily and Wyatt allowed you to head inside before closing the door behind you and quickly making his way to the backyard.
As you made your way to the kitchen, with Logan behind you, of course, you were shocked to see the completely dark room. The only thing illuminating it was multiple strings of fairy lights strung above 100+ photos of you and Wyatt. Below your feet was a path of rose petals, leading towards the glass door that opened towards the backyard.
You looked back towards Logan and the camera with tears in your eyes, and Logan just smiled brightly, a few tears now brimming in his eyes, too. You made your way to the backward and low and behold, there stood your boyfriend. As you reached him, Wyatt softly gripped your hands in his.
"Y/N," he started, smiling, "You have made me the happiest man in this entire world the past two years. I love you so much, and I hope I'm making you happy, too. I want you to be with me through wins, and through losses, through the good and the bad. I want to spend the rest of my life with you; nothing would make me happier. So, what do you say? Will you make me even happier than I am right now and marry me?"
You nodded at your boyfriend, tears in your eyes, "Yes. A million times yes."
Five years ago, you would have never dreamed of this moment, or even of Wyatt himself. But, to the credit of the movie that started it all for the two of you, here's to the fools who dream.
a/n; so i kinda took a different approach with this one and i'm not sure if i like it. i would love to hear what you guys think so please don't hesitate to let me know how you feel about it!

Where was The Last Of Us Season 2 Filmed? 🇨🇦🍁🎥
Tumblr media
This is from a travel magazine called CNTraveler. I copied most of it since it is behind a paywall.
Production designer Don Macaulay combined locations and sets to create both cities, as well as the surrounding wilderness, with the help of the visual effects team. It required a huge amount of planning and multiple film studios and back-lots around Vancouver.
Here Macaulay breaks down the key locations used in The Last of Us season two.
How many locations did you use for season two?
Probably 60 or 70. There were usually eight or 10 locations per episode. A lot of those were heavily effected [with visual effects]. We were all over the Lower Mainland in British Columbia, up in Kamloops, then up in Whistler, back to Alberta, and even down to Montana. For Episode Three there was a montage unit who actually did film throughout the states where the characters go.
For season one, Jackson, Wyoming, was built in Canmore. How did you do it this time?
We built it from scratch in a parking lot in Britannia Beach, which is just north of Vancouver. Canmore felt like the game, but we had a lot more we needed to control this time. We leaned into the game to a point, but we didn’t want it to be too old Western feeling so we also leaned into actual Jackson. It became a combo of what’s in the game and Jackson itself.
Did you have to destroy the set when the hoard invades in Episode Two?
We burned things and broke things. Once Mark Mylod, who was the director of that episode, landed there was a lot of retro-fitting. We ended up building a whole network of roofs so there could be action on top of the buildings and people could fall off. But we knew that scene was coming when we laid out and built the town. It was a massive build.
Was the house where Abby kills Joel a real house?
That was someone’s actual home out in Mission, which is east of Vancouver. It was such a match to the game. Typically, on a show like this we would just build that, but we didn’t want to have to blue screen out the windows, which you would have to do on a set. It was amongst some trees so we could use what was outside the windows.
Was Ellie and Joel’s house also someone’s home?
It was a real house in Langley. We built the porch for the porch scene and built out the interior. We brought snow in for the whole street.
How did you create the version of Seattle we see this season?
It’s a combination of locations and sets. I have to give credit where credit is due to our location manager, Nicole. She got us into places that are traditionally very difficult or where you’re not allowed to shoot. We were going to shoot in Gastown, but it’s super touristy and busy. So we ended up going to a little town called Nanaimo, which is a 20-minute float plane ride from Vancouver. There's a beautiful strip of old, appropriate buildings and we were able to take over. They allowed us to strip out all the storefronts and break windows and change awnings. We brought in all the [plants].
Was the theater where Ellie and Dina hide out a real theater?
The lobby is a set on a stage and the exterior was a set on the back lot. But once we pass through the lobby and go into the auditorium, that's the Orpheum Theater in downtown Vancouver. It is so similar to what's in the game.
What other Vancouver locations did you use?
We did use some downtown street and we had to reroute buses. We used some abandoned places, like the old Molson Brewery, the old Dairyland facility, and Stanley Park, which is traditionally a place you're not able to shoot because they don't want you to do any damage. We used the forest in Stanley Park, including some night work with torches. Some of that forest we also build on a stage for when Ellie gets into trouble in Episode Seven. We did go to the actual Vancouver Aquarium [in the finale] and spent some time in the bowels of the building. We could have done it on a set, but locations offer up unforeseen opportunities like that.
Was Bella actually out on the water in the finale?
Only part of that is real—when she gets washed up on the shore. But the dock and the aquarium façade were built in a field surrounded by blue screens. When she’s boating across open water and when she tips over, that was all done on a tank in a sound-stage. I think people will be a little shocked when they see how we pulled that off.
Where is the lake in the last episode?
There's a little lake at the top of Mount Seymour called Mystery Lake. It’s a beautiful little mountain lake that we were going to shoot Eugene's end at. We did all the prep, got everyone up there, and then it was swarming with bugs, so we just not being able to shoot it. So instead we built that set and all that you're seeing beyond Eugene is visual effects.
At the end of the finale it cuts to Abby in the headquarters of the Washington Liberation Front. Was that a set?
We built the box where she wakes up and then walks through to get to the railing. The rest we illustrated based on Lumen Field in Seattle, which is the home of the Seahawks, and it was done by visual effects. We know we need to build it next season, but none of that was practical yet.
What are you most proud of about this season?
That it got done successfully! And the gaming community seems to be really happy with the way it turned out. Season two was bigger and more challenging in a lot of ways. And I can only imagine that Season three is going to be even bigger and more challenging. I've already been warned: It's going to be big and we’ve got a top Season two.

Hiya! Long time to update!
Dyson and I have been working hard on keeping our new retail locations pretty and stocked! You can find us at the Makers in West Edmonton Mall and Orchard Park in Kelowna, and at Kamloops Artisan's Bazaar.
Ever since Meta changed social media algorithms, I know myself and other artists have had a much harder time keeping up our online presence since our posts get suppressed now.
So if you would like to keep notified of Rabbit Folly updates, I do have a newsletter here that surpasses all these algorithm changes. I rely a lot on emails these days for major updates so I am grateful if interested folks sign-up! I only send at most 4 emails per year!
I also got a lot of new merch debuting in retail locations and at Vernon Comicon and Anime North in May too. If you're attending any of these events, come say hi!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cune and I have been discussing as well, and we want to try out some new spicier projects next year. Other than that, I'm still working on the Bohrok charms.
That's all for now <3

hmm i was scrolling through Twitter earlier and as the designated leafs blog in my mind, what are your thoughts on fraser minten? like he’s so interesting to me because in the narrative i’ve created of him he was tavares’ fifth child but then was our balanced by knies being better, but then wjc happened and he still couldn’t crack it. now he’s on the blades (one of the best whl teams i think??) very interesting
NARRATIVELY he's definitely The Tavares Child -- okayyyy so. Sew. this New Generation of leafs (imho starting at Knies and including Easton Cowan as well as minten) kind of... each parallel a member of the Core: Knies is Auston's child (Arizona boy, big strong forward), Cowan is Mitch's child (London Knight, small winger with endless energy) and Minten is JT's child (Captain anywhere he goes, known for maturity and intelligence)... william child + morgan child ->
anyHWAY the real life scouting report under the cut (not too long i don't think)
Minten's a high second-rounder, which is the type of player that's generally designated as an "upper maybe" NHLer -- by which I mean odds-on he'll get NHL games (as Mints has) but it's less likely he'll become a serious full-time player (although many a second-rounder can and does do so!) The most interesting thing about his draft position was that the Leafs, under Kyle Dubas, traded DOWN to get him -- we had a low first-rounder, then traded it to Chicago to get rid of the Mrazek contract and got the pick that would become Mints in return. Many a source says that Kyle wanted Mints anyway and would have taken him with the first-round pick.
The general consensus is that Mints tops out as a middle-six centre, a 3C on a good team or a 2C on a worse one (or a 1C on the Boston Bruins.) His ceiling is probably about 40 or 50 points, maybe more depending on how much power-play usage he gets.
However, it's also noted (and was pretty obvious to me, even watching him at the WJC -- which I'll get to in a second!) that his real value is not and will likely never be in point production. He's a natural centre, good-to-great at faceoffs (a skill that he learned in part from JT!!) and very good defensively. Because he's still a kid, plays a bit physically and tends to be involved in the play at both ends, he probably takes a few too many undisciplined stick infractions, but these things of course can be straightened out with time and wisdom. Also, he's a touch of a personality hire: he was the youngest A on the all-timer Kamloops Blazers last year and was pretty much immediately named C after the Leafs sent him home this year; he was named captain of the CANADIAN WORLD JUNIORS team with zero other experience playing for Canada on the national level. He plays the piano! He's smart, polite, doesn't cause a fuss, wise beyond his years. Takes a guy far.
Anyway, the WJC: just an absolute hackjob by the coach and one of those years that really demonstrates that Hockey Canada still thinks it can get ahead by being Canada (the ol' throw bodies at the wall shtick) and not, like, because of its actual quality of development. I think bowing out when they did was a bit unlucky, but they absolutely were NOT primed to win it all -- especially because the coach basically seemed to have no concept of... line construction? or anything of the sort? Like he just tossed players together from a hat once (1) and decided they were just going to play out the tourney like that -- no real concept of "x is the playmaker, y is the shooter, z is the forechecker" or "these three are the transition line that take d-zone draws and use their speed to create rush chances/o-zone draws" or even something so simple as "this defensively-minded, slower centre is perhaps not the best match for the winger notorious for being opportunistic and shooty." Also, not to put too fine a point on it but a player can have a bad WJC and it doesn't mean anything, or a good WJC and it also doesn't mean anything -- Jesse Puljujarvi rose his draft stock by a good chunk in 2016 by having a FANTASTIC WJC, and he's currently on an AHL tryout. It's a small sample size, mostly played with teammates they barely know and against competition about a half-step up from what they're used to. Weird statlines happen.
Back to MINTS because we're still talking about him. Yess currently he's on the Blades -- traded from the Blazers because the Blazers are garbage and they want to Do Right By The Player and put him on a competitive team (done for two reasons: one, because it can be demoralizing to be the best player on a bad team, and two, because being on a good team in juniors often means you get actually good-for-your-development linemates and usage). He was generally not expected to make the Leafs at ALL this season (I mean, 20-year-old second-rounder, right?) and cracking the roster out of camp, even though he only got three games and has a rather blank statline is SUPER impressive. I'm pretty sure this is his last year of CHL eligibility, after which he'll probably either get put on the Marlies for a year to keep cooking or he'll make the Leafs again and stick around. Either way, he's slid twice I think so we burn a year of his ELC.
and my opinion of the boy? I love him. Let's go baby leafs baby leafs forevar

introducing cameron
Tumblr media
Cameron Taylor Crosby was born August 7, 2006. She was born on the same day as her father Sidney, Who was nineteen when his daughter was born.
Cameron’s mother, Jasmine Waters was dating Sidney for a few months when she found out she was pregnant, she wanted to her rid of the baby when she found out but Sidney wanted a kid and managed to convinced her and paid her to keep the baby and give the baby to him once they were born and she didn’t have to be involved in the life at all.
Since then it has always been Sidney and Cameron, the two were always happy together and Sidney couldn’t not be so proud of his only child.
Anyone that knew Sidney would see him in his daughter, she was a mini Sideny and was just as good if not better on the ice. Cameron has alot of Sidney’s personality and both are very anti social and very awkward.
Sidney being so young when he had his daughter and new to the team he grew close to the team as did Cameron and everyone on the Penguins helped him out more than he ever expected, The team is family to Sidney meaning they are all family to Cameron too.
For Cameron’s thirteen birthday all she wanted was her own cat and after months of pleading Sidney got her own cat, he was all white and very fluffy. Cameron takes him everywhere she has a little harness and leash and backpack for him for traveling. She named him Mack after Nate, Which Nate never lets Sidney forget.
In 2019 John joined the Penguins and immediately Cameron was attached to him. John had an apartment near the Crosby house so Cameron was always begging to have him come over and he usually had dinner every night with them. John is easily one of Cameron’s absolute favorite people and they still talk almost daily after the heartbreaking trade
Cameron and Connor met when she joined the WHL, She ended up staying with Connor and his Mother for the two seasons they played together. Cameron and Connor are both very similar in personality that they just fit so well and became great friends.
Cameron played two seasons with the Regina Pats before she was offered a trade to the Kamloops Blazers and she accepted it as she knew a lot of her friends on the Regina Pats were leaving and she might as well play for a new team and make some new friends. That’s where she met Fraser.
Cameron got a fracture in her hand a few days before she was set to leave for the 2024 WJC, so sadly she was unable to join her team but she got to spend almost eight weeks at home with her Dad so she couldn’t hate it that much.
Cameron was drafted for the 2024 NHL Draft and everyone knew already who was going first, Cameron Crosby but it was more who got the lucky first pick.
The lucky team was the Toronto Maple Leafs which was relieving to Sidney as it was one of the teams he wanted her to go to if she couldn’t got to the Penguins. He knew she would be taken care of in Toronto.

A wildfire-related travel ban to hotels or campgrounds in many communities in the southern Interior will be lifted at midnight, according to B.C.'s Minister of Emergency Management.
The order was implemented Saturday and restricted travel for the purpose of staying in temporary accommodations to Kelowna and West Kelowna, Kamloops, Oliver, Osoyoos, Penticton and Vernon.
It was designed to make space for the thousands of evacuees ordered out of their homes due to hundreds of wildfires burning around the province, as well as first responders and support staff.
However, non-essential travel to West Kelowna continues to be prohibited and people are being urged to stay away from the Lake Country and Shuswap areas.

The Biggest Benefit of Washing Your Car Regularly
Tumblr media
The biggest benefit of washing your car regularly is preserving its value and extending its lifespan. Here’s why this is so important:
Regular washing removes dirt, grime, and contaminants that can damage your car's paint and finish over time. These particles can be abrasive, leading to scratches and chips that not only mar your car's appearance but also expose the metal underneath to the elements. This exposure can cause rust and corrosion, significantly reducing your car's lifespan and resale value.
By keeping your car clean, you protect it from these harmful effects, ensuring it looks good and stays in great condition for years. A well-maintained exterior can make a big difference when it comes time to sell or trade in your vehicle, as buyers are more likely to pay a premium for a car that looks like it has been well cared for.
By far, the biggest benefit of washing your car regularly is that it helps maintain its aesthetic appeal and structural integrity, thereby preserving its value and extending its usable life. Come in today to an Express Auto Wash location near you! Car Wash in Coquitlam Car Wash Surrey / White Rock Car Wash in Kamloops Car Wash Burnaby / Vancouver

I have safely arrived in Iceland, and have now been up for 24hrs, and i am not going to bed for at least another 8ish hours. I am pooped, but did get some site seeing this morning.

This was fun, an entire road painted in a rainbow instead of just a cross walk. Missed last time by a block. I had an amazing french toast from a cafe not far from the road above.

The pieces stabbed in are ham, not bacon. It was very good. Rented scooter to carry my tired butt around, which was fun. There a literally scooters everywhere you can just grab and drive using a mobile app. This city is lightyears ahead of Kamloops. Well that is my day 1 update. It is only noon, and I be tired.

Kamloops wouldn't be our first choice for a holiday, but as a stopover location it is practical. Kamloops is a mining town; copper and gold, with the largest open cast mine operation in Canada just 30km out of town, and underground mining in town. Logging and sawmills seem popular here too. Kamloops is expanding apparently with people from Vancouver; now 115,000 population with many first nation folk living here. We were collected from our hotels yawningly early at 7.10am; required to leave suitcases in the room to be transferred by road to our hotels in Vancouver. Hopefully. A 22 coach train does not fit well into a standard station platform so we were delivered to the extended train parked in the Rocky Mountaineer depot at one side of the marshalling yards. Yards that are filling up with freight containers, stacking due to the freight operator strike. This eased our passage to Vancouver since we didn't need to pull into sidings so often to allow freight to pass. The journey began by crossing the Thompson River, through downtown with the smokestack of the pulp mill pluming upwards on the edge of town, moved by popular demand away from housing due to the smell.
The landscape was gradually changing to semi-arid desert like conditions, sun bleached hillsides and pastures: home to bald eagles, ospreys and long horn sheep. The temperature today was predicted to hit 35° which would be ideal for its growing wine industry. The baron landscape has been the setting for XFiles, The A Team, Battlestar Galactica and no doubt many more films and TV shows. As the train snaked its way along the course of the Thompson River we spotted bald eagle and osprey nests, some of the latter being up to 100 years old mainly built on manmade structures. Parent ospreys must from time to time have the conversation; one day son, all this will be yours! This is a big country, the home of ballads such as crooned by the likes of John Denver, Cowboy and Indian films, Luis Armstrong wafting over the sound system singing Wonderful World seemed to sum up the general feeling.
Thompson River soon merged with Fraser River just before lunch. The Fraser soon to be busy with salmon. The topography changing now reverting to pine forest and mountains as we headed south towards Hope and Vancouver.
It is a thing most strange that we have travelled hundreds of miles into the Rockies without meeting any English people until boarding the Rocky Mountaineer. Now all on our carriage are English or occasionally Scottish, all Radio 4 of an age. Is it only the Anglo Saxons that appreciate the permanent way? We are all practically on Christmas card terms by now, but of course all that will be forgotten by December.
The train seemed to pick up speed by the time we reached Hope where we were a fortnight ago. We were travelling a good 50mph towards Vancouver. I think the driver needed to be home by tea time. Then he really put his foot down.
And so it was we finally made it into Vancouver crossing the swing bridge. It was a very agreeable way of returning to the great metropolis of the city.
Remarkably, we were able to step off the train and onto a waiting coach which was able to take us directly to our hotel for the following two nights. What was even more remarkable, our suitcases actually made it to the coach!
We have a couple of days to enjoy ourselves in Vancouver before travelling home on Wednesday. Well didn't that go quickly.
