minecraft lore - endermen anatomy & physiology
lore used in my fic steve vs the world
endermen seeing other endermen’s eyes- endocrine system releases serotonin thru pineal gland
enderman seeing other species eyes- endocrine system releases epinephrine and cortisol thru pineal gland - caused fight or flight response
prone to pneumonia when exposed to water or humidity, endermen from the end visiting the overworld are especially susceptible due to climate differences
tears are ender particles, they cry with floating glowing purple particles
ender pearl is an organ in cardiovascular system
connected to heart by an extra vein stemming from superior vena cava
ender pearl is responsible for hematopoiesis (blood production) instead of bone marrow
damaged enderpearl = severe anemia = no teleporting
teleportation is the result of blood cells passing thru semipermeable membrane to outside of skin (causing ender particles) then evaporating at light speed = quantum reaction and and teleporting

Good timezone everyone! It's been a while since our last announcement, hasn't it? We're thrilled to be back and ready to update you on the things we are working on right now! >:D
《💚》Behind-the-Scenes: What's Been Happening?
Before everything, we would like to talk about the elephant in the room. If you're not in our Discord server or our Instagram group chat, you might not have heard the news of Ash (the founder of TLTM) fully stepping down from the project. There had been cycles of arguments and disagreements that had continued for months, and when it had finally reached its highest peak during a discussion, we realized that it stemmed from differing visions of how the project should continue. In the end, Ash wishes to go make her own Third Life musical passion project, and we choose to respect her wishes and wish her the best of luck.
But every cloud has a silver lining, and we have one alongside lots of progress, so let's talk about what's been going on in the project, shall we? :D
《💛》The Silver Lining: New Names and Faces!
First, we would like to introduce to you our two newest project heads, Coffee (they/vei), and Bushy (he/xe/it)! This officially means there are six Captionheads now (Juniper, Oliver, Stryx, Leezz, Coffee and Bushy), and we each have our own unique flair and role that will help jumpstart the reset of TLTM! We will have a separate post introducing each of us, as well as our roles in leading the project!
One more thing, we now have a name for our collective group/studio of this project: the Hearts Imagine Studios! (Our acronym is HIS because we have always been him :3/silly -Stryx) While our main focus for now is TLTM, and discussions of future musicals are on hold until we finish and release TLTM, having a studio name opens up new opportunities for us to make more musicals for the following Life series (and possibly original music ventures too, who knows? (≧▽≦) ~Coffee)!
《❤️》About Auditions and the Actual Project
This next part is for those on standby for singer auditions! We've stated in the past that we are postponing working on auditions until we make more progress, but now that things are finally moving again, we plan to reopen vocal auditions to try and fill the remaining 5 Lifers in our cast (Joel, Jimmy, Scott, Etho, and Tango). All vocalists auditions should be submitted to our CastingCallClub project, and as we’ve been asked about this before, the Captionhead in charge of vocals (Stryx) will review the requirements to audition: (1) Focus on the Lifer’s accent and energy accuracy over voice tone or pitch for the character you're singing for; (2) Demonstrate decent singing and speaking skills that mirrors the Lifer you're auditioning for; (3) Choose a song that aligns with the Lifer's vibe and highlights your vocal strengths effectively.
In regards to where the project stands now, we are working on getting a script ready (with the help of our lovely research team), so our story can flow the way we want it to. Although progress may seem slow from the outside, and even to the members of the project, we can assure you that there is a lot going on in the background to make sure that this project has the foundation needed to stand on its own. As such, we are looking for other types of auditions as well, like musicians, lyricists, and artists. They may not have not much to do in the musical’s current progress, but we would love to see people audition for them too!
《🤍》The Vision and What is to Come
To re-explain this project, Third Life: The Musical is a retelling of the story of Third Life, the minecraft survival challenge started by Grian. The events and characters have been slightly better developed to fit the musical format, but our version remains more or less one-to-one. We plan for our genre(s) to be a fun blend of fantasy/whimsical, folk, pop, and rock, but potentially more down the line! Our main POVs are our protagonists and antagonists, Grian and Scar, and Rendog and Martyn respectively. However, every member will have their own “special feature” songs (a.k.a a song specifically for them, with a major part in a song), so all the Lifers get their own time to shine in the spotlight!
We can't wait to get this project started officially, and we’re so so excited to start sharing more actual progress to you all, because while getting the foundation up is incredibly important, it can also be very tedious, and hard to show for until things can start moving with the actual musical part of the musical. We can’t thank you enough for your patience, and we’re so grateful for all the support we’ve received over the last few months, and of course, feel free to ask us questions on any of our socials, join our Discord server and Instagram GC, and one of us will be happy to answer! Thank you all again, and we will update more soon!

“Why should I trust shifting? None of my friends believe in it, and the majority doesn’t think it’s real, so why should I?”
Someone on Tiktok actually said it best, but if shifting WAS male dominated, there wouldn’t be an issue of its legitimacy
A lot of ex-shifters and the general populous all think shifting isn’t real because it sounds “too arbitrary” and “unrealistic”. Because the people who “invented” shifting on Tiktok used it to majorly shift to hogwarts and anime. Aka, fandoms where teen girls were the main audience or make up a majority of the audience. Ex-shifters swear off shifting entirely because “it never worked for me so therefore it’s fake”, and influencers who aim to discredit the entire practice claim it’s just daydreaming or dreaming. Yet constantly we have to prove ourselves. I daydream and shift, I can tell you it’s not the same thing. I have lucid dreams and shift, I can tell you it’s not the same thing. Yet still, it’s discredited. And once more, it goes into the fact that girls make up a big majority of the shifting community on Tiktok
Just a year prior to shifting getting its mainstream spread onto Tiktok, people were doing something eerily similar to shifting called a “past life regression”, where you lived your past life and experienced everything from that. And guess who introduced it? Guess who lead past life regression? Guess who’s still leading it when you look it up on Tiktok? Men!
Movements are only credited when men are at the forefront. It’s constant in almost everything: when girls dressed up to go to the Barbie movie, it was “childish” and “embarrassing”. Yet when boys dressed up and made a mess of the movie theater when the Minecraft movie came out, it was “boyish fun” or “reliving our childhood”. When men lead the forefront, somehow it just “makes sense” and it’s “spiritually healing”, yet when women lead the forefront, it’s “insanely psychotic” or “incredibly destructive”.
Shifting is only as real as you trust it to be. If you believe in it, then it’s real. If you don’t, then it’s not. It doesn’t matter what the main majority say in something is. Lucid dreaming and astral projection were once seen in the same fashion, that it was insanely impossible and anyone who tried these things were clinically insane. Now look at the two practices: they’re sought after, people seek help into doing them. Influencers claim to astral project every night to seem more interesting and lucid dream to look more down to earth and inept with their subconscious.
Belief does sometimes stem off of the main majority, but personal belief stems off of what you desire to be real and what you desire to be fake. If you think shifting isn’t real, but wish it was, you know it’s real, yet your desire to fit in with everyone and the majority is holding you back
Shifting is as real as anything, the only deciding factor is YOU

unraveling — part three, season ten
read on ao3 | read part one | hermitcraft, 2.9k words
this is the third and final part of my fic for MCYTblr AUFest! once again, if you haven't read the first part, please check it out for more info about this AU. enjoy this infodump about plant-based fibers disguised as a minecraft fanfiction!
Ever since Pearl began expanding her original starter base, she’s been working on some kind of big secret project.
It probably has something to do with her choice of theme this season. Or maybe it's an even bigger, more spectacular redstone machine than the already very impressive Dyeduction. Whatever it is, Pearl’s determined to keep it a secret, which means Gem is even more determined to figure it out.
She watches Pearl from a distance, using her spyglass. Pearl’s base is developing into a labyrinth of different structures, with so many entrances and passageways wedged into tight corners, each building blending together into a larger whole. It’s getting big enough that Gem can get lost in it. She gets turned around even from afar, watching Pearl enter a building and emerge somewhere completely different a few minutes later.
This morning, Pearl seems to be harvesting some of the many different plants around her base. She clips back the fast-growing vines that crawl up the sides of her buildings, wades through dense fields of flowers to uproot entire plants, and even collects bark from the bushes and trees. Gem can’t imagine what she’s doing with it all, and she’s even more confused to see Pearl deposit her harvest into a large pool and leave it there.
After a while, Pearl spreads her elytra and rockets off in the direction of the shopping district. Gem takes the opportunity to poke around her base and investigate directly. She stops at the pool first, which has a small channel out to the river, not quite wide enough for a boat to pass through.
When Gem steps into the pool, the water only comes up to her knees. The bottom is full of different stems and leaves, weighed down by rocks to keep it from floating up to the top. Nearby is a small hut filled with shelves and shelves of the same plants in various stages of drying.
Gem has been toying with the idea of a proper scientific investigation for a while now, and clearly Pearl is the perfect subject. She takes a recording device out of her pocket and begins to describe her surroundings.
“This is Dr. GeminiTay in the field, reporting on my observations at PearlescentMoon’s base. Recently, I've observed several anomalies in Pearl’s behavior, and I came to the conclusion that I must analyze her natural habitat for hints as to what may be causing this…deviation.” Gem nods, proud of herself. She sounds so professional! “It appears that Pearl has been soaking plants in water, then letting them dry. The purpose of this behavior is as of yet unknown.”
Nearby the pool and the shed full of drying plants is a building that Gem knows has been here for a while, but she doesn’t think she’s ever been inside. The top floor is full of more plants in the next stage of the process, whatever process that is. One one side is a pile of fully dried plant material, and on the other side is a heaping pile of fibers and several chests stuffed to the brim with very tiny wood shavings.
Gem relays this information as best she can into the recording device, then takes a staircase down to the basement, which is much larger than the room above. The center of the room is taken up by several large spinning wheels, each hooked up to a redstone device that Gem doesn’t even bother to try and make sense of. Presumably they help automate the process, though they all seem to be shut off right now. Gem is tempted to flick one of the levers to see what happens, but she’s not Grian. She has more self-control than that.
Though, it would be really funny if she broke something.
Gem peeks outside to make sure Pearl isn’t back yet, before running back to switch the lever on, giggling to herself. The wheel starts spinning, but since there’s no fibers or threads on the spool, nothing else interesting happens. She’s disappointed, but also relieved that she didn’t break anything. She flicks the lever back off and moves on.
Pearl has hung several picture frames around the room, but instead of artwork, the frames contain embroidery projects. The largest of them reads live laugh love in familiar cursive lettering, surrounded by a border of leafy vines. Most of the others are textless, with designs of different plants and flowers.
A large table on the left side of the room is covered in dozens of small scraps of handmade fabric. Some are of higher quality than others. None of them look like the sort of crochet pattern that Gem’s used to seeing on Pearl’s body. Pearl must be trying to branch out with her projects, and these are some of her first attempts. There’s another embroidery project hanging right above the table, the only other one with any text, which reads, Start small.
Beside the table is an ordinary loom, and next to it, a larger, more intricate version constructed out of several different types of wood. Normal looms are only used for banners, but Pearl’s handmade loom seems to be built for broader purposes. On the other side of the loom, in the back corner of the room, is an iron door without any visible way to open it.
At this point, Gem can safely assume that she's found the room where Pearl keeps her mystery project. Clearly it's some kind of fiber art—or several different kinds at once, from the look of it. But all the things she's seen so far are just pieces of the puzzle, and she still can’t figure out what Pearl’s making.
Her only remaining option is to see what’s behind the locked door.
Now, Gem could easily go home and construct her own lever to open the door, or just break through the wall herself, but that’s no fun. She’d much rather figure out how to use this secret door the right way. Knowing Pearl, it’s not a special kind of lock that only she has the key to, but some kind of thematically relevant puzzle that anyone can figure out if they try.
So Gem tries. For a good long time, she looks around the room for hints. She stops in front of the table of scraps, looking at the embroidered message. Start small. It doesn’t quite fit with Pearl’s sense of interior decoration. The live laugh love one is clearly a joke, a reference to last season, but there’s nothing about Start small that holds any sort of meaning to Gem.
Unless it’s meant as a clue.
In a moment of inspiration, Gem stands on her tiptoes, reaching over the table to take the frame down from the wall. She looks over to the door, but it hasn’t moved. When she flips the frame around, she can see the messy backside of the stitching, plus a hand-written note from Pearl, reading, smaller than that.
Definitely a clue, then. Gem switches on her recording device and begins to narrate.
“The wild Pearl is known for her cleverness,” she tells her imaginary peer-review science board. “One of the defining behaviors of a Pearl is to set up puzzles for her friends. It’s important to provide her with enrichment by participating, which is why I’m doing this, of course. Not because I’m nosy.”
She paces up and down the room, the reassuring rhythm of her footsteps against the floor helping to clear her mind. That is, until she steps down on a block that makes a strange metallic clanking sound.
Gem may not know much about redstone, but she knows a hidden hopper when she hears one. The spot where she’s standing is just a few blocks away from the door. All she has to do now is figure out what to throw into it.
“Pearls are practical creatures,” Gem says. “This Pearl would not choose something rare or difficult to access as the key to a door she uses all the time. It’ll probably be something inside this room.”
Start small. Smaller than that. The answer’s sitting right in front of her. Pearl doesn’t start a crochet project by jumping into it blindly and hoping for the best. She plans it out beforehand, making patterns and testing out stitches. All of the different test swatches on this table are her way of starting small, practicing for the big project she’s making.
Gem grabs one of the scraps of fabric, dropping it on the floor above the hopper. The door opens with a loud clank, and she enters the room, holding her breath in anticipation.
She’s not expecting Pearl to actually be inside. She knows for a fact that she saw Pearl fly off, though admittedly there was plenty of time for Pearl to sneak back into this room while Gem was wandering around her base. But the surprise of Pearl’s presence pales in comparison to the shock of what she’s making.
Pearl is hunched over a player-sized figure made up of many different kinds of fabric, lying on top of a large worktable. Only one of its arms are attached, the other sitting right beside the empty shoulder, and both legs end just below the knee, still unfinished. Most of the fabrics look coarser than the soft wool yarn that Gem is used to, but there’s no mistaking who it’s supposed to be.
“Oh. My. Gosh.” Gem blinks several times, unable to believe what she’s seeing. “Pearl, are you multiplying?”
Pearl laughs, sitting back and looking up at her. “Do you like it?”
Gem takes a few steps closer, taking it all in. The new Pearl’s plastic button eyes have been replaced with wooden ones, and her hair is a mixture of several different textures and shades of brown. She’s wearing a white postal jacket like the one Pearl’s wearing now, but this one is made out of a more refined version of some of the swatches in the previous room.
When Gem commissions new outfits to fit her themes, she doesn’t spend much time thinking about the work that goes into it behind the scenes. She just pays their exorbitant prices and assumes they must have worked very hard. Now, having seen all the steps in Pearl’s process, she’s baffled as to how her clothesmakers are able to deliver their finished products so quickly, or how Pearl herself has gotten so much done without anyone noticing.
“It’s beautiful, Pearl. It’s so detailed.” Gem can’t think of anything to say that doesn’t feel like an understatement. “Have you been working on this all season?”
“Only since I decided on my solarpunk theme,” Pearl says. “It shouldn’t take me much longer. I’ve processed most of the fibers that I need already, and that’s the slowest part.”
“I have so many questions,” Gem says. It’s a little disconcerting to see this new version of Pearl in an unfinished state, looking so much like Pearl does now, but lifeless and incomplete.
“I can explain it to you if you want!” Pearl looks excited at the prospect. “There’s a lot of steps, but if you break it down it’s actually pretty simple—”
“Have you been hanging out with Mumbo recently?” Gem asks. “None of what you’re doing is simple, Pearl. This is very complicated!”
“Already had a peek around my base, did you?” Pearl tuts in mock disappointment.
“It’s only fair! You don’t get to complain after what you did to my base with all those pickle messages.”
“Ah, well.” Pearl shrugs. “You may have a point.”
“What is it for, anyway?” Gem can’t help but notice that Pearl isn’t making these modifications to herself, but to an entirely different entity. “Why do you need another you?”
“Gem!” Pearl laughs at her. “You got all the way to this point and you still haven’t figured it out?”
“What do you—Oh. Wait.” Gem blinks. “Are you—you’re building yourself a replacement body?”
“There you go,” Pearl says. “We got there eventually.”
“But that doesn’t make any sense!” Gem says. “How do you get yourself into a whole different body? Can you turn back after you’re done? If you can just go around switching bodies, what’s stopping you from being a—a pig, or a sheep or something?”
“Oh, that’s easy,” Pearl says, waving her hand dismissively. “I just, y’know…” She pauses, frowning. “Well, I—hm, okay. I’m not sure, actually.”
“You’re not sure?”
“I don’t know how it works,” Pearl says. “It just sort of happens. Like how everyone gets new outfits to stick through respawn.”
“That’s normal, though. Everyone does it!”
“Yeah, but how?”
Gem opens her mouth, then closes it again. She doesn’t know. How does she not know?
She feels a little dizzy from how fast her thoughts are racing. Gem pulls up a chair and plops herself down, trying to get her thoughts in order.
In this world, and in every world since she spawned, there have been rules. They vary from place to place, and they can be changed, too—even bent or broken. Gem knows people who break the rules—some of the most infamous rulebreakers in the world reside on this very server with her—but she’s never counted Pearl among that number.
And, now that she thinks about it, that seems like an oversight on her part. Gem has known Pearl for longer than most of the other Hermits, and she can’t remember ever questioning how Pearl came to exist in this form, this version of herself that Gem’s always known.
Gem has never broken the rules, or at least, she’s never knowingly attempted to do so. She’s happy where she is, building and mining and fighting the normal way, seeking out challenges from within the confines of what’s supposed to be possible. She’s amazed by the accomplishments of her reality-bending friends, but that sort of thing has never interested her.
Now, standing on the edge of what seems to be a rule-breaking realization, Gem wonders if this is how they felt—Etho, or Cleo, or Doc, or Pearl, apparently—any of the Hermits that ever asked the right questions, or put the pieces together, or stumbled upon a loophole in the rulebook.
She clings to the fabric of her lab coat in wonder. What kind of force tethers this silly costume she’s wearing to her own body? Why does it stay with her even after death? How does any of this make sense?
Is everything just a—
“See, you can't question these things,” Pearl says, bursting through her train of thought. “Or it all falls apart.”
“Falls apart?” Gem asks, alarmed. “What does that mean? That sounds bad. Is it bad? Have I broken the world?”
“No! No, of course not, don’t worry.” Pearl rests a soft hand on Gem’s shoulder. “Well, maybe a little bit, but it’s fine. Nothing that can’t be fixed.”
Gem puts her head in her hands, taking a deep breath. It helps, a little. “This is—a lot, Pearl.”
“Here, let me show you something.” Pearl holds up a swatch of fabric, which Gem is reasonably confident in identifying as crochet, though she doesn’t know the specific stitch. “It’s like this. The fabric holds itself together just fine if you leave it alone, but when you pull on the edges…” She does just that, and the first row collapses on itself, then the next, then the next. “Things start to go a bit wonky. But…” She pulls out a crochet hook and starts stitching, rebuilding the row she’d just unraveled. “You can make them right again, if you learn how. It can go back to normal. Or, well, normal enough.”
“But what about people who don’t want it to be normal?” Gem asks. “How do they deal with it?”
“You’ll have to ask them about it,” Pearl says. “That’s not how I do things. I prefer to patch the holes I find rather than explore what’s inside them.”
Gem leans her head against Pearl’s shoulder. “This really hurts my brain.”
“I know. I’m sorry, Gem. I didn’t mean to push you into this.”
“It’s okay,” Gem says. “The fact that I made it through two and a half seasons of Hermitcraft before getting here is probably pretty impressive, right?”
“It’s not for everybody,” Pearl says. “Like Grian, for example.”
“Grian?”
“He noped out of it even harder than I did, you know. Did it so well that I’m not sure he even remembers anymore. I don’t want to bring it up with him, because if he did forget, I think he meant for it to be that way.”
“Huh. I had no idea.” Gem lets out a heavy sigh. “I don’t know if I want to go his route or not. Or your route, or some other route. I feel like I know way less about the world than I did this morning.”
“You should probably talk to someone other than me about it,” Pearl suggests. “It’s different for everyone. But whatever you do, it should be your own way, not someone else’s.”
“My own way.” Gem smiles. “I like the sound of that, whatever it is.”
“Don’t stress yourself out over it,” Pearl warns her. “I know the way you are. Take your time, Gem. You have basically forever to figure it out.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll try.” Gem wraps her arms around Pearl. “Thank you, Pearl.”
“For what?”
“For explaining stuff,” Gem says. “For being my friend. For being so cuddly, too. You are so soft.”
“Aw, you’re welcome.” Pearl hugs her back. “Would you be mad if I got less soft, though?”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Gem says. “I love every version of you.”
Pearl laughs softly. “I love every version of you too.”
if you read this all the way through and enjoyed, please consider reblogging!

A Creak Through The Crater
>>FIC BELOW THE CUT<<
a gift for @surfpent for the @mcyt-halloween gift exchange !! ill be honest, this one got away from me a little uhmm.. the concept is basically ghostbur but what if he was the creaking from hit videogame minecraft
1600 words, crimeboys, i do not support cc!wilbur fuck that guy
with that being said, hope you enjoy o7
Even after all these months, the air still smells like ash. A carpet of foggy smoke hangs low over the ground, coloring everything gray. Tommy visits L’mantree every week. Not because he’s some sappy sentimental bitch. No, no, he’s a big man. And big men have big manly traditions they must follow. That’s all this is. Honestly.
It's been a gloomy couple days, but whatever. Tommy cuts one more poppy from its stem before tucking his dagger back into his pocket. He decides five will do.
See, he's been doing this for a while now. He's sort of a Tradition Expert if he does say so himself. Usually he leaves five flowers at the foot of the tree, six if he's feeling adventurous.
Why are they always gone by his next visit, you ask? Ha. Tommy doesn't have time to worry about such silly little things. Probably the wind blowing them away or some cow with an appetite.
It doesn't matter. He never stays too long. He stops by long enough to drop off the flowers, have a minute or so of sombre quiet, and then he goes about his day.
Today will be no different, he's sure.
The trek up the hill is always annoying. The ground’s still littered with debris. Concrete, metal beams, just a boatload of shit that sticks and pokes at his shoes.
Obviously he could stop and clean it up, but time waits for no man. At least the terrain at the top of the hill’s less fucked up.
Familiar branches start coming into view.
With a sigh, Tommy drops the bunch of flowers on an exposed root like he always does.
If Wilbur were here, he’d suggest at least tying the bouquet together, Tommy. Ooh, have a little decorum, Tommy. Meh meh meh.
But the high-pitched bitchy little Wilbur in his head has no power over him. So Tommy sits on the grass, as Un-Decorum-Ly as possible, and leans back against the trunk.
The trek up here was longer than usual. There's some kind of construction project happening by the Prime Path. That slowed him down a little. Fucking new people always running around building new shit. On this server? By next week, it’ll be vandalised at best, destroyed at worst so what's the point, really?
Point is, Tommy doesn't feel like walking back just yet. Big men get tired too, you know.
Okay, he could stay a little longer today. Have a quick power nap, maybe. No one except him comes around here anyways. It's no big deal.
He manages to doze off, gazing up at the roof of half-singed leaves before closing his eyes.
It could be minutes, hours, Tommy’s not sure. But at some point he's woken up by a bothersome light seeping through his eyelids.
He groans. It's late afternoon, it's been muggy for ages, and the sun chooses now to show its stupid fucking face?
Except, when he petulantly opens his eyes, the annoying beam isn't sunlight, but a soft glowing blue coming from right above his head.
What in the shit? It looks like it's coming out of the L’mantree.
After squinting up at it, Tommy does consider just going back to sleep. Maybe he's dreaming, imagining things, seeing shapes where there aren't any.
But when the light doubles in brightness, Tommy shoves down his weariness and gets up with a grumble.
The glowing comes from behind the bark. A bright radiant blue, seeping through the grooves of the wood. It looks like someone's placed a lamp at the centre of the trunk, like a weird Jack o’ lantern but, you know, it's a fucking tree.
Tommy tentatively places a hand over the cracks.
He draws back with a gasp when the light pulses, a warmth thrumming beneath his fingertips.
Okay. Okay! Fucking nevermind. He is awake. Wide awake.
Tommy snatches his satchel off the ground. He throws it over his shoulder in a rush before booking it back down the hill. Whatever that is, he decides it’s not his fucking problem.
Tommy has put off his next visit for weeks now. He debates not coming back at all. He comes up with a lot of excuses in the process. It's time he moved on anyways, he reasons. Totally fine and normal, normal and fine.
But as the days go by, his pride catches up to him.
Is he really going to stop because of… whatever that was? Tommy Innit did not fight a whole ass war only to be bested by some glowy wood. He's better than that!
Odds are it's just Tubbo playing a dumb prank on him. Has Tommy confronted him about it? No. Is he still going to blame him for it? Yes.
Tommy shoves his shit back into his bag and strides out his house with a rebuilt confidence.
The Prime Path is still cluttered with random build projects. It's like everyone else is trying to find a New Big Thing to replace the literal hole L’manberg left. Tommy gets it sort of, but he also thinks it's kind of pathetic.
He stops by the wild flower patch again. This time, he gathers six freshly bloomed cornflowers. As if to go Ha! See? I’m not scared.
As Tommy hikes back up the hill, the cracks in the wood have widened. So much so that he can see the blue light blinking through the fog from a distance. Leaves crunch beneath his feet, making him jump a little.
Tommy leaves the flowers at the roots per routine, but he can’t seem to take his eyes off the tree, off the web of wood woven and backlit by the most vibrant blue he’s ever seen.
Tommy steels himself. He’s strong, he’s brave, and he’s not scared of a dumb fucking tree.
Tommy shuts his eyes (out of strength and bravery, not because he’s nervous) and places his palm over the blue light.
It beats. A dull but steady rhythm that undulates against his skin. The blue light glows brighter and brighter, so much so that Tommy has to crane his head away.
Out of nowhere, the moss crawls up the bark. It wraps around his fingers, over the edges of his palms, moist and mushy. Tommy yells out, ripping his hand away. The moss stretches, clinging to him like a living web of mottled green. Fuck that. Actually fuck that, what the hell?!
In an instant, instinct grips him in a vice. Before he knows it, he’s pulled his dagger out of its sheath and plunged it into the wood.
Tommy’s breathing comes ragged as he pulls his shit together. He scuffs his hand against his pants, scraping off the remaining moss. Okay. From here on out Tommy Innit hates trees. All trees. They’re worthless hunks of wood that stand there like right bastards. He’s never coming back ever. Stupid L’mantree isn’t worth his time anyway.
With a huff, he pulls his dagger back out the bark.
And a viscous blue ooze drips from the wood like a puncture wound.
Tommy scowls at the… blue shit– for lack of a better word– with disgust. What in Prime’s name is going on? Last he checked, trees don’t bleed. Do they? No, they definitely don't.
Breaking the silence, a long drawing creak pierces the air. Chipped ash-grey fingernails dig into his shoulder, rings of bark rough on his skin even through the fabric of his t-shirt.
Tommy whirls around, heart pounding in his ears, ready to plunge his knife into his attacker.
Only for it to drop to the ground.
The creature(?) freezes in front of him, going stock-still as if it too is in shock.
This tall, lanky, asymmetrical thing… for a good few seconds Tommy can't make sense of it. Its body looks like it was made from the bark of the L’mantree itself. Its “hair” comes in the form of unkempt roots flying in every direction, thorns jutting up and out like a false crown. A trail of moss drags at its feet. But, oh, the most piercing trait this creature possesses is the multiple luminous, royal blue eyes littered across its shoddy imitation of a face.
The only way Tommy could recognize his brother is the long, withered cloak still draped over its jagged wooden shoulders. He knows those patches. Tommy spent hours sewing them on.
“Wilbur?” He says through a breath, more a question than anything else.
Wilbur— or, what’s left of him— doesn’t move, not even an inch. He doesn’t blink. His chest doesn’t rise or fall.
Strangely enough, his many eyes aren’t trained on Tommy, but a few steps behind him. He’s staring at the flowers.
Without really thinking, Tommy turns to pick up the bunch of flowers.
By the time he whirls back around, Wilbur’s moved closer. Tommy flinches, “Agh! What the hell—”
Wilbur’s palm, covered in moss and tree rings, lies face-up and outstretched in front of him.
Maybe Tommy’s dreaming. Maybe he inhaled too much smoke and he’s hallucinating. Maybe he’s finally lost his fucking mind. Either way, some kind of autopilot flicks on in his brain and Tommy deposits the bouquet in Wilbur’s hand.
Still no movement. But he does blink. Each eye closing and opening again, slowly and out of synch, like a weirdass cat.
Once again, it could be minutes, it could be hours. Tommy can never be sure. All he knows is by the time he musters up the willpower to move his feet and walk back down the hill, when he looks back over his shoulder, Wilbur is nowhere to be found.

It's here!
The long awaited chapter 2 of The Nightmare of Apathy is here!
While actually it's on my AO3 because it's way, way too long to put here...at 5,439 words. Chapter 1 was only 4,712 words and I thought that was a long one. Sheesh.
Anyways, I drew some art for some of the flora I ended up creating for it. Maybe go read the chapter first to avoid potential spoilers? I can't stop you though lol.
Tumblr media
Star Fruit:
- This is the fruit of the wild growing Star tree. It's on the smaller side as far as trees are concerned and it's fruit emits a soft glow. The fruit has many facets and is shaped like a tubular star. It's peel is orange and almost waxy in texture while it's flesh is yellow and tart. It's leaves are dark blue and it has coiled vines on its stems. It is commonly baked into desserts or made into jams.
- Technically, I took inspiration from lantern fruits from Subnautica and the real life starfruits.
Glow Berries:
- The fruit of common wild bushes of the same name. These bushes have lots of small thorns on the stems making gathering the berries slightly difficult. The berries are purple and are most known for the bright glow they emit. The flesh is bright pink and it tastes slightly sour as well as acidic. They have dark blue leaves and grow the berries in small bunches at the ends of its branches. They are commonly baked into desserts like pies and other things, as well as eaten on their own.
- The name and idea was inspired by the berries of the same name from Minecraft. Otherwise, they are shaped like cherries but without the pit.
Moon Pears:
- Named for when the tree grows it's fruit, Moon Pears are a carefully cultivated fruit tree. While the tree itself can grow rather large, it is generally kept in arboretums and is trimmed to remain at a manageable size. The leaves are pale and go from gray to pure white as they mature. They are very rare and only a select few people keep them. As a result, they are very expensive and not many get the chance to try them.
- The fruit only grows when the moon is out and best when it is a full moon, meaning it takes a while to be fully mature. It is white and is sweet and juicy. They are basically like real life pears just attuned to the cycles of the moon.
I have like ten more plants and herbs I have made, four of which were featured in the chapter itself. If I end up drawing them, I'll definitely be posting them in the future. Would you guys like more lore? Cause I have lots more...it took me several days to write lol.

Yeah. Dreams are wild. I have a new writing prompt idea seperate from Kenz thing about deer. Maybe I’ll write an entire deer zombie apocolaypse story that is a twindemic of rabies and chronic wasting disease. I’m planning on creating an entire deer society free from humans since this is a post human earth where humans voluntarily went extinct or something like that. Idk. But yeah. The deer have their own religion like warrior cats with their own healers. The deer are your typical everyday white tailed deer. They have their own naming system and hierarchy. They talk ofc, but only to each other. This a post human world, long after humans have gone, but there are still relics of human society. Not even the deer religion knows about human existence and deer god is all powerful. So I’m planning on them being confused about buildings that are rubble and cars that are decaying scrap. This is like centuries after humans have gone extinct. Might even make this an indie animated series that stems from the novel.
Like all my adhd projects, this is likely to get buried in the sea of all my other adhd projects. I might spend today making this novel instead of the Minecraft video before I lose motivation. Let me know what you think @fishy--friend @shabbyshoebox @lovelycrimsonredsnow @confused-canid @cryptic-platypus.
Yeah, there will be a gravity falls reference here and there and there will be some gravity falls coded characters. But deer. Deer. Deer deer and more deer. Okay, I’m going to go build a killer playlist for this idea.

Got any AUs for the sky people?
Oh boy, too many. Though, besides Milocraft and like, two others, the majority of them are very surface-level and don't really have stories/continuity to them beyond, "Hey, this idea is kinda neat!". Usually, I'm exploring the city through a 'post-canon' type continuation, which is where Terracotta Villa comes in, though I'm not going to include post-canon stuff here since I don't really regard it as a proper AU.
Skipping over Milocraft because I've talked about it before, if you're curious peep this post or go through the 'Milocraft' tag on my blog. Also because I'm not in the mood to yap about that au right now since I'm currently reworking some story stuff.
Firstly we've got an old au that was more of an art project than anything else; The au itself doesn't really have a name, as it revolves around the idea that the people of Sky City don't speak English, but instead their own language called 'Skaia Voc'. It was an early attempt at a constructed language, with the idea being that beyond the normal events of 'Order Up!', Jesse and the main crew are trying to also figure out the language barrier between their group and the residents of Sky City. There would be hints of Isa understanding English, especially with certain books within the palace, and eventually we would see her break from Skaia Voc and instead start addressing Aiden, Jesse, and the others in English. Other than being a fun project for me to try and make a constructed language, this au honestly doesn't change much about the actual characters or setting that much.
The Sky Drake City au is another REALLY old idea of mine in similar age to Milocraft, though this one desperately needs a facelift still unlike the other au. Originally stemming off my now-defunct-and-deleted Milo askblog, it was an event where I made Milo a 'Lightning Sprite' which was basically just a weird angel-esc thing?
Tumblr media
(Yes I have the art from the blog. No, you don't get to see it.) I dunno, I was mostly fucking around and having fun with the original event. Anyways, I vaguely revisited the idea a few years ago wherein the entirety of Sky City's people are partially draconic in nature; Everybody has wings and scales, and other details such as tails, claws, fangs, and horns are extremely common. There's just one caveat to all of this; Nobody in Sky City can fly. For the vast majority of people, both their bodies and wings are simply too heavy to effectively enable flight, and the most they can get away with is gliding between islands spread out over Sky City's "territory". But, the Founder and her guards are capable of flight; it's a necessity that allows them to better patrol the vast and spread out people of the city, though it's never really explained to the public how any of them are able to fly. The basic idea behind it is that Isa is the only one who is able to genuinely fly due to having a bone density light enough to enable flight. The guards get away with flight due to having enchanted armor, which Isa is able to enchant due to grinding mobs for resources constantly. (Possibly feather falling, but also probably just a custom enchant for the story? idk) Although Isa can technically fly without an enchantment, it does make things vastly easier for her. Thus, her circlet is enchanted, and this eventually gets stolen by Aiden. Build Club (yeah this is still minecraft logic and building is still hella restricted) somehow finds out about the armor enchantment thing and, once Jesse and their group accidentally make their way into the city they get roped into helping Build Club steal some poor guard's armor before breaking into the palace (on it's own island high up above everyone else; meaning the only way to get there is to fly) to find the eversource. after that it's more-or-less the same up until everyone is getting settled from the ordeal of Aiden spreading mobs everywhere. (Sidenote, the mental image of Jesse clinging to Isa who is desperately flapping her wings while also knowing it's not going to help while complaining about the situation? golden.) Not 100% on how this 'Terracotta Villa' (might get a different name?) would settle after the fact since SOMEONE would spill the beans on how the guards + Isa are able to fly due to enchantments, so I can only imagine air-travel becomes a relatively common thing for the people of Sky City after the fact. Tbh, might actually let them keep the name 'Sky City' just due to the flying aspect? I dunno, something to think about.
After that we've got an unnamed Monster Au where everyone in Sky City is, you guessed it; a monster of some sort. Isa is a Cockatrice-Harpy hybrid, Reginald is a Werewolf, and Milo's a siren. How does that work in Sky City if he has to be in water most of the time? I don't know, the Garden is surrounded by random channels of water at walking level, they extended them into the floor of certain buildings or whatever. Try not to fall in on top of Milo or some other aquatic citizen, thanks.
Another strange au, this one mostly inspired by Dungeon Meshi of all things; the Eversource Milo au. If you're confused as to how this is inspired by Dungeon Meshi, allow me to provide the same shitty chart I gave my confused friend;
You start with Chimera Falin.
Tumblr media
Wild start, I know, but this stems from her looks. Specifically, the sort of 'fade' from humanoid to feathery/draconic is something that, aesthetically, is EXTREMELY appealing to me. How does this relate to the aforementioned au?
Tumblr media
Well, I've mentioned previously that Milo is something called a 'glitched spawn' which normally can have a vast array of effects on a player, but was rather mild with Milo for the most part other than a stupid fast hunger drain. Most of the time, him being a glitched spawn isn't really relevant other than some backstory, but in this au is EXTREMELY relevant.
Tumblr media
Prior to Milo spawning, something happened and Benedict just kinda. Vanished. Like nothing had killed her, there wasn't dropped feathers/crown/etc or anything, but she couldn't have wandered off the island either so Isa was left sitting there quietly shitting a brick as she realized the Eversource keeping everyone alive was. GONE. (The real answer is she despawned. Sorta.)
Tumblr media
How is Benedict 'despawning' relevant to Milo being a glitched spawn?Well. Because it led to uh. This happening
Tumblr media
Honestly this au is kind of a shitpost that derived from the idea, "What if Milo was a man-sized chicken" before I decided to give it an iota of a fuck and make him a weird hybrid instead. His nose is a beak. Don't think too hard about it. Mostly just made for fun, don't ask if there's anything resembling a plot because I'll never take this au seriously enough to give it a story beyond, "How much more inconvenient would it be if the eversource threw their eggs up and also could learn swear words and use them at you if he gets angry enough".
Yes Reginald escorts him down the waterfall when everybody evacuates Sky City.
There's the Admin Access Granted au, which explores my headcanon of Isa being an Ex-Admin from a different dimension than the one Sky City is in, but instead of giving up her admin powers early on to play in survival mode she kept cheats enabled. Just in case. It means Aiden gets his shit ROCKED when the other shoe drops, and Jesse and Co. are kept sorta prisoner on the island? Prisoner in the sense that, because nobody knows about the land below the island still, nobody has found the portal exit either. So Jesse, Petra, Lukas, and Ivor are stuck in Sky City as 'citizens' who can't say SHIT about what they saw. Despite how fascinating I find this au, I've never been able to settle on whether or not to make it a full-on Villain!Isa au, or to instead make her EXTREMELY morally grey and conflicting to leave potential readers equally conflicted on how to feel about her. I've also never really figured out a solution for Jesse and their group in that situation, though it probably has something to do with going over the edge of Sky City eventually. Not sure when they'd dig up the portal or why though so -big shrug- the au is rather vague right now despite the potential, and I'm likely going to explore this one a bit more in the near future.
I have a very fringe, honestly pretty OOC au, which explores the idea of the Sky City trio getting their asses sent to. The Twilight Forest.
Tumblr media
I don't know, I just really love this fuckin' mod and I really enjoy the 'progression' system it has with the areas and their respective dungeons/bosses. And I think that, given there's no actual story tied to the mod itself, it has a lot of potential for someone to write characters going through that progression system and figuring things out.
Thus I shoved Reginald, Isa, and Milo in here. How'd they get here? What kind of equipment do they have? Do they know where they are?
FUCK YOU!!
I'M HERE TO WATCH THEM STRUGGLE AND GET ANGRY AT EACH OTHER AFTER KILLING A KOBOLD AND THEN TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE HINT IT GAVE THEM TO MAYBE GET INTO AN AREA THAT DOESN'T BURN THEIR LUNGS OUT OR BLIND THEM OR FREEZE THEM TO DEATH. I might doodle some random shitposts for this au at some point because it's really just a surface-level, kinda joke au to project the struggle of survival twillight forest without OP equipment onto those three. Because I know the team would CRUMBLE
Other than those aus though there honestly isn't much. I've focused pretty hard on the Milocraft au, though I suppose if any of these other aus catch people's interest I could talk more about them? Except the Twilight Forest one, I don't think I have any questions to answer there because there's not much to discuss other than, "I think this would be funny. Here's how they would struggle to overcome this task together."

🏹 Surviving a Night Like in Minecraft (Without the Creepers!)
By Alice One evening, Ariel and I were deep into our Minecraft Survival Mode adventure, chopping wood and crafting tools. Suddenly, I had a wild idea: “What if we tried surviving a night like in Minecraft… but in real life?!” Ariel gasped. “YES! But… no creepers, right?” Mommy and Daddy chuckled at our excitement and said we could set up a backyard survival challenge—just like in the…

assorted strawberry shortcake headcanons where i imagine them as chronically online, gen z ish young adults, but the information i'm drawing on is from the wiki, my mother's interpretations of the characters, and my vague recollection of the cartoons and playing with my mother's dolls
strawberry shortcake runs a baking-focused social media account and is the proud owner of several dozen pinterest boards with an ungodly amount of pins. she crochets her own clothes and liked the lirika matoshi strawberry dress before it was cool (she cannot afford it and would not have a good opportunity to wear it, but she dreams nevertheless). she plays minecraft with all the mizuno 16 packs. actually goes outside.
blueberry muffin is a book smart 'honors student' type, and is well-versed in classic literature. she also stays up way too late on ao3. she got onto the internet when she was way too young and was the type to very innocently warn her friends not to search up whatever horrors she saw (only for them to search up the horrors). she's spent way too much money on gacha games, but she tends to her garden to 'touch grass' and balance that out. she also thinks about stealing her neighbour's fruit, but don't tell anyone about that.
orange blossom got into art because she was super obsessed with minecraft animations as a kid and learned how to draw in the hopes of becoming an animator one day. she holds very strong opinions about bevelled minecraft character rigs, and is mildly tired of people irl constantly referring to her art as 'anime'. she travelled around europe in her early childhood but remembers absolutely nothing of it (this makes her so sad. she wants to go back one day to appreciate the art museums and architecture). she taught strawberry how to crochet and is a huge fan of sustainable fashion. she dabbles in pottery.
angel cake comes across as a rather straight-laced and sensible young lady- she sleeps at a reasonable time, does yoga, balances her duties and social life, stays hydrated, and performs well academically (she likes math). however she is hopelessly addicted to online drama. she doesn't necessarily participate unless she's feeling particularly spicy, and while her heart is in the right place, she is often overcome with the very human desire to Dunk. she follows the conversation intensely and knows all the who-did-whats and who-you-should-avoids.
plum puddin is genderfluid (she/they/he) and a biochem/genetics/microbio stem girlie. she's mildly snarky and 100% down to play the part of the mad scientist with wildly flexible morals. she likes to dance and watch video essays about queer sociology and feminist theory. they're online friends with tn honey but when they talk about her irl they refer to her as their 'overseas colleague'. they taught blueberry how pirate stuff off the internet when they were younger and she used that power to make anime amvs. he could probably stand to pop a multivitamin.
lemon meringue is a mildly successful fashion blogger who uses her platform for political activism- queer rights, climate justice, decolonisation, etc. most of her clothes are thrifted or handmade and she is disgusted at quite a few of her private school peers who buy things from shein. she's dating her childhood friend raspberry torte and has the privilege of being passenger princess when she misses her train.
rapid fire headcanons go: lime chiffon is plays a lot of video games and is addicted to monster energy drinks. she's an absolute beast at rhythm games like taiko no tatsujin, project sekai, and ddr, as well as claw machines. between lemon and raspberry, lemon is more outwardly sweet and raspberry is a can come across as a little unfriendly at times, but lemon is the one who holds grudges while raspberry is more forgiving. huckleberry pie is trans and did taekwondo alongside raspberry and strawberry for a couple years. apple dumplin is in elementary school and is a big fan of a series of unfortunate events (blueberry is so proud), but has only read the ones the library had available. purple pieman and sour grapes bully eight year olds in minecraft in their spare time.

The build I was going to screenshot is going poorly because of Minecraft redstone, I can explain the concept better with words and provide clarification if you have any questions.
The question I am asking you is, how would most characters from your lore react to a being that has enough power to shape things on a continental level, but is limited to only something as simple as a fireball without a powerful enough object to channel that power.
During the Time of Magic, most would probably be surprised. Minus, of course, Siegfried.
Siegfried is the embodiment of "Too much power", and that powers stems from the Sceptre of Siegfried. So I guess they're the same ship as yours, minus the restrictions just due to the sheer power of Void magic in her.
How long has magic existed in your project?

hello just dropping in to say anon is so real for cjoel cluster b personality disorder...................... he has bpd to ME an
yway i thought of more i want to write i was thinking maybe people get weird about like. certain things is because of where they come from maybe? like people dont like a lot of mental health hcs because a lot of them stem from Trauma or something which is deemed Too Serious for minecraft roleplay (which is dumb). idk im thinking out loud. and then maybe some people dont like in depth character analysis because it acknowledges that their blorbo is not a perfect character (which is high standards in a death game but whatever)
Oh absolutely, all of this. I personally don't indulge in headcanoning disorders and such much, but just because it's not personal to me and I don't want to get things wrong or come off insensitive, but I'm all for people who do do that, especially if it helps them! I do project onto characters sometimes and I know others who do too because of relationships they themselves have had that they can compare to and such. But, that's normal asf!!! I know Minecraft SMPs are a peculiar medium but I don't think people should be shooed away from treating it like a more traditional TV show and the like by analysing and identifying with the characters that they see, and assigning them headcanons. As long as they're not forcing anything upon anyone, why discourage their passion?
You're also absolutely right about the acknowledgement of blorbos not being perfect haha. Once again, if people wanna stick with that mindset then by all means, but don't go telling people with differing opinions why they're wrong. I've said this like 5 times and I'll keep saying it, that as I perceive and talk about Scott for example, I do see him as toxic and manipulative, etc, but his character is also incredibly nuanced and compelling to me and I absolutely don't hate him. The same way people often get drawn to villains or otherwise morally questionable or explicitly in-the-wrong characters in more traditional media (Not calling Scott a villain though lol just a comparision). I personally much prefer a deeply flawed character over a perfect one any day of the week
