Plus his wording when he's trying to convince Optimus to let him go with the Lost Light: "I broke the planet. And that, Optimus, is why I owe it to you - to everyone - to find a replacement."

Megatron x dictatorship is literally his OTP. They were inseparable for four million years. A lot of people died trying.

And basically just drops the Decepticons like a bag of vermin after he surrenders. He never once mentions them of his own accord, other than to insist he has nothing to do with them. Even his surrender speech is something Optimus makes him do as exchange b/c he wants to go on parole. He wasn't planning on making a public address otherwise, he was just going to leave them hanging.

Looking at the publication timeline, Megatron started out as an established Evil McEvilson-type villain similar to how he is in G1 and it's not until Chaos Theory in 2011 that JRo really gave him a sympathetic backstory that drew his characterization away from the bloodthirsty pugno ergo sum warlord into someone who once held ideals about societal reform and remains convinced of his own moral supremacy throughout the 4 mill years of death and war, adding worldbuilding such as Functionism/oppression/government corruption as justification for the beginning of the Decepticon movement. But because the start of the Decepticons was already written in Megatron Origins and every evil thing he'd done up till Chaos Theory can't be retracted and they had to keep Megatron as a villain until his story was no longer central to the Autobot-Decepticon war line, and JRo didn't try to downplay the atrocities he'd committed (some of the most sadistically disturbing things Megatron did were exclusively in MTMTE flashbacks), but rather tried to distance him from them and placed the focus on the juxtapositions to emphasize change, this as a whole just resulted in Evil McEvilson getting turned into Hyper McHypocrite.

How I feel about this character: honestly, I can’t summarise some of the reasons I find him interesting like I did for DG, but rest assured I love him. I think about him at least 3 times a day, every day. I wasn’t kidding when I said I was obsessed.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: the very specific flavour of Jaykyle that plays with their “Catholic who became the singular wielder of the universe’s strongest weapon + eventually became a god x brought back by a divine force + motivated by a quasi-religious fever but agnostic at best” dynamic. Now we’re getting onto more speculative territory, but vibe-wise, JT reads as a hopelessly romantic gay guy to me. I think he’s just too much of a misandrist to realise this. RE: Talia, Isabel, Essence, Rose, + Artemis (his canon love interests), every single interaction he’s had carries with it the vibe of a guy who likes the company of women so much that he just goes along with women who are sexually interested in him. But he isn’t actually attracted to them/loves them. That’s my opinion anyway. I respect those who see otherwise of course of course <3.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Jason & Bruce plague my mind. I like any Jason dynamic TBH, you can always make it fun in some way if you try hard enough.

My unpopular opinion about this character: neither right nor wrong morally when you factor in how he bridges between morality in-universe (killing as the ultimate signifier of evil, except when states or wielders of the state’s monopoly over the legitimate use of force do it) + morality when recognising the DC world for what it is (fictional + cursed with eternal bloodshed). His whole appeal is his liminality, + how he’s positioned between binaries like life/death, hero/villain, just/unjust, etc. He’s most interesting to me when he’s used as a vehicle to deconstruct those categories.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish he’d get a good solo run. I kind of wish he hadn’t been crowbarred into a villainous role from the late 90s/early 00s onward to exculpate BW for getting a kid killed <3. It’s great material for me to work from in terms of fan stories, but I could do without DC trotting out their victim-blaming OOC Robin II stories + giving me psychic damage. RE: past stuff -> I half-wish (in addition to Red Hood: Lost Days), he’d gotten instead of B&R #23-5 another Post-Crisis mini (maybe Lost Days II?) that charted his development from 2005 to 2011. I say half-wish b/c I think DC would have done an abysmal job. I’ll probably write it personally myself one day, I just wish someone recognised he goes through an unintentional character through line of increasing meta textual awareness + subsequent ‘madness’. Maybe then he could have been reconciled to his post-2011 Batfam affiliation properly without people still complaining about it 14 years later.

Mysan (January 17 2011- April 4 2024) She’s buried at my parents place in the country side. We planted catnip on her grave because she loved catnip. I miss her so much but I cherish her memories

Young Zoë who moved into my apartment about a month ago. She’s around a year old and still a bit of a kitten in spirit. She likes to sit on my nightstand and spy on me while I sleep

2. A hot sunny summer day. We didn’t get much of a summer last year, but last week the temperatures has been over 20°C most of the time. I love to go on walks in the sunny weather and I get a tan fairly easily, every year you can see where my sandals and wristwatch sit because of the clear tan lines

3. A good fanfic. Both to read and write. To stumble upon a good fic with your otp that scratches an itch in all the right places, is of good length and is just exactly what you’re in the mood for, it’s a rare occasion but it bears a feeling akin to finding a rare gemstone. I have a few fics that I tend to go back and read every now and then and those gems will always be cherished

4. Home baked goods. Especially those I baked myself. I’ve always loved to bake and from a very young age I was dead set on becoming a pastry chef. I went to culinary school and the education, but once I got a taste of how stressful that job can be, it sadly became clear I was not cut out for it. This was before I got diagnosed as autistic and ADHD, but my teacher put together a special practical final exam for me since he clearly saw I had struggles. I don’t think I would have been at risk of not graduating had he not but I’m thankful that he did nevertheless. I still love to bake and experiment in the kitchen and while I now study linguistics and comparative literature at university, I’m glad I went to the High school I did. It gave me valuable experience and knowledge and though I probably won’t work in that field much, I still bake in my free time

5. Hanging out with my family. I’ve gained a new appreciation for the times I get to do stuff with my family since I moved out. I live in another city so we don’t see each other too often. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. I can call them whenever I want to ask if I can come visit over the weekends, and when I see them I find myself more eager to talk and update them on what I’ve been up to since last time, and hear what they’ve been doing. As opposed to when I lived with them and saw them every day.😅

I realize I might have poured out much more of my soul than what was probably intended, but I’m not really sorry. I think it’s good for you to take time to sometimes ponder over good things in life that makes you happy 😊

Initially when I looked at these names after I typed them out I was like "oh they're all attractive, selfless idiots with beards," but there truly is a lot more to them than that 🤣

Obi-Wan Kenobi - buuuhhhhh I don't even know where to begin with Obi-Wan. He's Obi-Wan. Is that not explanation enough? He’s the perfect Jedi, not because he tries to be, but because he’s just such a caring and compassionate person. But he’s also snarky and an asshole, and he’s just so much wrapped up in a perfect little bundle.

Tony Stark - My longest running blorbo. My mans since I was 14 and my middle school boyfriend took me to see Iron Man when it came out. Tony just cares so much, and tries so hard to make up for his past mistakes and shortcomings. His story has always meant a lot to me, and it’s a reminder that your lowest point doesn’t have to become your ending.

Kotetsu T. Kaburagi - MY SECOND LONGEST RUNNING BLORBO. No seriously, I got into Tiger & Bunny when it aired in 2011, and Kotetsu has never left my mind. On the surface he's such a goofy character who messes up a lot, but he tries so hard and never gives up. He's grown so much since Season 1, and I just adore him in Season 2 so far. I am fully capable of gushing about this old man for hours right now but I’ll leave it at that.

Have you ever read a thing in a book or seen in a show/movie where you thought: "Oh, this is good, I'm gonna steal that!" What was it?

Well recently the only media I've consumed outside of video games has been documentaries and podcasts. I did one audiobook in the science fiction genre but it was generally pretty boring (and a lot of UST, what a waste :c ). But when I'm reading other people's fics I really do want to steal shit all the time. I just don't do it.

I'm hyperfixated on wordplay.

Every time I read someone else's fic there's always some line that jumps out at me and I feel like - damn I'm jealous I didn't think of that.

It's not a mean kind of jealousy. I love and enjoy the differences between writers. I am just so damn hyperfocused on finding new and exciting ways to string words together. I take a long time to edit my fics because I'm lost on tiny details like "did I start too many sentences with pronouns" and "did I use the same sentence formula twice in a row" and "wow here I go again throwing unnecessary adjectives where they don't need to be" (please tell me I'm not the only one who does this omg).

One time I read someone's profile on FF.net (literally back in like 2011) that said one of their pet peeves was adverbs. They hated adverbs, called them lazy writer shortcuts. Now I'm anxious about using adverbs. I still use them because I think they're lovely (hahahahahahaha I did that) but I do try to cut back, re-arrange words, eliminate them when they become overused.

I think I focus too much on how the words flow together and when I see someone write a bunch of words I've never seen in the same sentence together, I get all excited and I wanna "borrow" them.

But I don't do it because here in the shrios community we're a pretty small group and it would be very obvious if I did that. I will admit to stealing some wordplay from authors I read a long long time ago, but at what point does it become just fuzzy memory? I truthfully can't remember where I read "feeling his jaw work as he ate her." I know for sure I read it somewhere, but fuck I really can't remember where or when. That's why I decided to borrow it (with my luck that person is probably reading this post lol I'M SORRY Jfjslfsdjf).

I enjoy reading other people's fic even outside my OTP because people are so clever and it's very exciting. When I write, I try to think of a new mechanism I want to try, instead of stealing other people's words. I still hyperfixate on wordplay but I try to curtail this urge by re-reading others' work, trying to understand the storytelling rather than saying like "pretty words look gud me likey."

And since we're here - I AM ABOUT TO GO OFF ON A TANGENT - I saw this great post about how every artist thinks "wow when I can draw like that I'll know I finally made it" and how that mentality prevents them from enjoying what their viewers love about their work - their own unique style. I am trying to tell myself I have my own unique style.

But even if I don't, the fact is, the fanfic writing community has actually - truthfully - literally (lol adverbs again) - never EVER treated me bad. YOU PEOPLE ARE SO KIND WHAT THE FUCK???? I just came out of a 2+ year WoW gaming binge in which I tore myself apart DAILY because I could not measure up to the community's expectations. People are fucking savages on multiplayer games. I'm not traumatized but I'm also not willing to accept that kind of environment for myself anymore. The kindness of writers has been earthshattering for me. Yes I am going to continue on my tangent yup yes I am

I'm starting to see why for years, I lost the drive to be kind. It's exhausting and lonely to put positivity out into the world only to have it returned with vitriol. That's what my WoW experience has been like over the last 12+ months. It's become so dog-eat-dog over there. I'm not saying I'll never play wow again, but holy shit I needed some distance to get my fucking priorities straight.

Being on tumblr has been a sobering reminder that there are spaces where people exchange kindness. I'm not trying to say that every wow player is a piece of shit, because they aren't. But the loudest and most hurtful ones really left a mark on me. I'd just like to give a big heartfelt mushy thank you to tumblr and my followers and anyone who's ever offered a helping hand instead of verbally eviscerating a stranger.

Dislike the fandom, not the show itself? Probably hzbin hotel. The show has a pretty neat concept and animation and it had such a big impact on my artstyle when I first watched it. But the fandom? Absolute hell. (pun intended)

To be completely honest, Amydot. Up until s3 they really gave me possible ship vibes. They interacted a lot, and peri discovered her metal powers thanks to amy. But after s3 they hardly ever interacted anymore (besides that one ep from s5 with the kindergarden). I was so dissapointed, but hey lapdot isn't so bad anyway, right?

That one fan made episode from su called the smothering, it was so freaking amazing. It helped a lot in relieveing the pain of that big hiatus from 2017 (which was the biggest one, i literally turned into a skeleton waiting for new eps). Loved peri's needy personality, as well as lappy's playful one. It was so well written, like it could be perfectly fit as a role reversal episode in the main show.

How I feel about this character:

aradia is so good, SO fucking good. literally top tier troll in act 5 act 2 i spent the entirety of 2011 stanning her oh my GOD she was my homestuck fave for a long while. i was so mad when she kept being irrelevant like i’m still not over the fact she wasn’t involved in fixing game over that’s the reality i would like to occupy i know it’s out there i know relevant aradia exists somewhere i just know it.

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

i mean there’s the basic stuff like aradia/sollux and aradia/jade but i’m gonna say it....aradia and rose would fucking rule. ex goth morbid bitches who both had their moments of apotheosis entwined with a stint in a robot body..intrinsically understand the narrative fold but instead of control they seek chaos..the POWER that they would have. unfathomable. literally unfathomable.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

rarepairing but i think aradia and callie would vibe together well. the sheer cosmological mayhem they could wreak....cryptid cosmic time travelling pranksters..idk they dunk on candy jane and roxy a few times as petty revenge for ruining callie’s life. sometimes june joins in and they partake in antifascist retcon sabotage. a dream team. effervescent.

and you know what? aradia and davepeta. love that energy. fuck it. aradia would fit really well with anyone with a complicated relationship to resurrection let’s form the alive^2 gang it would fucking rule.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

i don’t actually think aradia’s a good person. like she’s friendly and opposed to the villains but in so many ways she’s incredibly self-centered, even detrimentally so. and i know people like to see her as this passive nicey nicey uber charitable  steward of the dead but she really isn’t that at her core. personally i think that fucking rules. let’s explore aradia’s terminal observer syndrome. let’s confront why one of only two time travellers refuses to ever get involved in the flow of anything. why she’s the only god out there who refuses to engage with universe c. hello let’s explore that. aradia is deeply flawed and i would like to see a) acknowledgement and b) growth.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

if we’re talking canon why was she not used post game over. she would’ve been a perfect fit with the june/terezi mind-powered retcon timehop to fix the broken timeline. like that’s literally her god tier title description. even if she still fucked back off to the furthest ring to watch it all collapse she should’ve had SOME kind of involvement in a6a6i4. we could have had something sublime there but andrew hussie is too afraid of powerful women. hope aradia gets to do a large number of cool things in hs^2. it’s what she deserves.

First thing I need to clarify, the timeline where he talks about them still being a thing (what Phil and I had was ours and personal) is 2012 so we have confirmation that at the very least up untill 2012 they were in a relationship.

Second thing being that Dan told the entirety of his story in past tense. Including the part where Phil came in. It wouldn't make sense if Dan used present tense when he was saying that for one very important reason.

That being that the reason Dan bought up 2012 was because this was, for a lack of a better word, the invasion year where it was basically "fuck dnps privacy" for some people(not all. Some people were nice back then too. But some clearly weren't) and they started digging the shit out dnp because otp yada yada

At that time, what they had was theirs and like Dan said, it was only recent that the relationship with his audience changed and slowly transformed into what it is now and the major leap of that happenes in 2012 even though it started in 2011. In which case I don't think Dan was comfortable at all with people dragging shit out if his personal life and idk if you know it, but in 2012, Dan was super fucking defensive about anything relating to Phan or his personal life as anyone would be when under that circumstances.

So Dan using past tense to talk about that doesn't surprise me in the least. Because things were worse in 2012 then it is now. Yes the shipping still exists and stuff but you gotta realize just how much more...forced...it was in 2012. (Watch a 2012 liveshow if you want clearance. Peoole literallly asked if Phan was real....that doesn't happen now because now there is atleast a sense if privacy)

So yeah, understandable decision fir him using past tense because the reason behind him bringing it up (creepy stalkers) has changed a lot now for good(wouldn't say ALL of it is better now but it's better than 2012 yeah.) Saying what "Phil and I had was ours and personal" for the 2012 timeline in 2019 seems appropriate yeah considering the reason behind the sentence and the change in that(audience relationship)

Other than that why I still believe they're dating is because a) You don't build a fish tank for your ex boyfriend b)You don't make dick jokes with your ex on camera c)You don't "come over" to your ex's house to film a video d)You generally....don't......stay ...best friends with your ex.....

As you may know, Agents Phil Coulson and Clint Barton will both be stuck at hq for the next three months, since Barton's a klutz who likes to fall off buildings and Coulson lets him. They will both be teaching courses at the Academy. They are also hopelessly gone on each other and engaged in mutually oblivious pining that makes you wonder how anyone let them get above level 5.

This's where you all come in. Some of you (looking at you, Melinda), know how this works. Others of you are practically children. Fifty bucks buys you a day. Winners are determined when May, Fury, or I verify that they have indeed pulled their heads out of their asses and gotten together. If multiple people pick the same day, they split the pot. If no one picks the day, the pot will go to the widow/ers and orphans fund. I keep the book; I keep the money. When the pot gets over 10k, Fury keeps the money. If you tell Barton or Coulson what's going on, all the money goes to the fund and you never get to place a bet in New York again. Capiche?

Let the games begin.

V - Are you one of those fans who can’t watch anything without shipping?

Um.... absolutely not lmao. I have so many shows I’ve watched where I literally shipped nobody. Tho this is more of a recent thing ‘cause I used to ship anything and everything back in the day... Not quite sure what happened, but I definitely noticed this lack of interest in shipping started with Arc V. Like yeah, I shipped the Fruits, my Appleshipping kids, and YutoxRuri but that was the extent. None of the more non-conventional ships like I used to have lists of.

I - Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

The real question here is.... when has it not? 

Free! was the first big fandom I was completely turned off by thanks to tumblr, so basically, if I ever watch Free!, assume that the end of the world is coming. The problem wasn’t that it was everywhere, but like.... the fans refused to tag their content and after a while, every time I saw a cap of it would make me irrationally angry. 

Also, this was def before I saw the light and finally decided ZeXal’s actually a super good YGO series, but, good God.... The ZeXal fandom circa 2011-2013 was just so damn frustrating. Like, sure, I acknowledge the series is good now, but the way the tumblr fandom in particular acted to the slightest criticism of ZeXal was just. Cringe. So much cringe. 

Then, there’s the Steven Universe fandom. Again, with Free!, if I ever watch that show, assume the end is coming. The concept of the show is cool and all, but the way the fandom talks about it as a whole makes me so tired and drains any interest I had in the show. If any. 

And of course, we can’t forget the fandom that made me hate fandoms altogether: THE ARC V FANDOM!!! 

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve made some super good friends in the fandom (and shout out to the folks who checked up on me after Arc V 120. y’all the true mvps). And I’m aware what happened with the Arc V fandom was basically a disaster 20-some years in the making.

But like.... I try not to regret things, but I definitely regret being in that fandom. Just no decency, no respect for differing theories, no sense of inclusion. You either thought one way or you were an outcast. No in-between. 

So yeah.

Fun fact: when I originally played FE:A I made my avatar after Zenith and I kept trying to pair him up with Stahl who I thought was like Nico. I was really sad to find they couldn't get married :c

This was a re-draw of something I did a few years ago (I want to say 2014?) When I started an OTP prompt and then proceeded to give up after the second piece. But Henri and Ariane are still one of my favorites. They were very in love and thought they could challenge the world together.

Lastly, the boys who never were. In 2011 Fai and I made two friends, Hiro (the instigator) and Jiro (in the cart lol). We didn't make it in to the Starry Sky rp group together but I had a lot of fun thinking about these two. I had this idea at the beginning but I wasn't skilled enough to draw it the way I wanted to until now.
