hello. agender leafy (she/he/any)? I'm really interested in how objects represent their gender since they arent that humanoid. and a huge headcanon of mine is genderless leafy
for a while (probably most of season 1) she thought she was a trans boy (she didn't tell anyone) but realized she didn't really want to be or look like a boy, she just wanted to be seen as a person before her gender, girl or boy didn't completely seem to describe her. she was just. someone. a person. a guy
"maybe I'm gender neutral?" but that didn't seem to be it either
she never understood gender. maybe because she never experienced it.
i don't think she spent too much time questioning though. she has better stuff to do
probably has been made fun of or scolded for not looking or acting like a girl before. but she never cared about what gender people would perceive her as, she just did whatever made her happy at th moment. never trying too hard to look like anything. also i think she'd represent more masculine if she wore clothes, just because they're more comfortable
pronouns don't mean much to her. she never felt uncomfortable with any
she's baffled by how much people care about gender.. it shouldn't matter.
I'm not sure when she'd realize she's agender (perhaps bfb), but she probably told firey in late bfb and he was cool with it. good for them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'd be so happy if redux leafy was agender just look at her. not a speck of gender behind those eyes.thanks for coming to my agender leafy ted talk. ps I'm definitely not projecting
I love exploring gender. Or no gender. Hell yea agender Leafy time!! She has problems but she doesn't have gender. No leaning towards masculinity or femininity or neitrality, minimal care for pronouns(she/her preference but go ham!- you'll rarely get corrected by Leafy)
I like that. I like agender Leafy. This is a solid take. I am going to run with it!
IT IS HIGH TIME FOR HER CHARACTER PROPOSAL!! Long post incoming 😋
Kind, impulsive, and friendly with an ego. She craves good relationships.
Leafy has great survival skills for any given situation, nature OR social(this is going to come in handy!) She attended a scout group when she was little. Nature walks were her favorite. Her scout group had summer camps that taught survival and her guardians were big on teaching her too!!
LOVES learning about relics and artifacts.
She applies for BFDI with the goal of using Dream Island for a nature reserve or her own little home with a garden. I don't know which.
She and Pin form a temporary alliance to survive the balance beam challenge. It works and they both make their own teams.
that Goiky Map she used to teleport.. It's gotta be some sort of mythical object-- something unexplained in this world like Evil Leafy, perhaps an artifact of ole.
Ice Cube's complex ideals of revenge intrigue Leafy. When she's wronged, Ice Cube gets people back. Maybe Leafy can learn a thing or two from her.
She befriends Firey early in season 1 and the two stay close until the last few episodes... Where Leafy does SOMETHING that turns Firey on her. I don't want it to be the ferris wheel sorry chat.
Perhaps an argument a couple of episodes before the finale. I do want Firey to come across as petty. Maybe Leafy says something that hurts his feelings during that argument and, instead of talking to her about it, he denies her a spot on Dream Island.
At the bridge, he calls HER a mean person. He tells her she doesn't deserve to be on Dream Island moments after letting Coiny and Flower in. Where's the logic!?
Well, if he's going to be this way, so is she.
Leafy calls Announcer and purchases Dream Island. That'll show him!!
She hides out on the boat, fingers crossed that everything'll turn up fine -- she spots Announcer. He has his front faced to her... He's saying something she can't hear.
A SWARM OF PEOPLE APPROACH. DEAR GOD.
Leafy gets confronted for stealing. A lot of the same thing gets repeated-- insults, shame, calling her a thief and a horrible person. She can't even defend or explain herself. It is THAT bad.
Snowball gets physical and shoves her against the boat's railing so Leafy fights back, hitting him and thrusting him aside. This gets the crowd riled up more-- they're now going at her for assaulting Snowball. HELLO???
She uses a map of Goiky to teleport away. It's ripped up as she escapes, now miles away from civilization and alone in the Yoyleland wilderness.
She takes a moment to breathe.
And think.
What has she done!?
Maybe they were right-- maybe they were all right. Leafy is a mean person. She hurt everyone. Maybe it's better that she's on her own. She doesn't want to hurt people. She thinks back to Ice Cube again, then Firey.
She's a horrible person. She should stay out here. It'd be better for everyone if she was gone for good. Like she never existed. She lost everything and it's her own fault.
And the longer she's alone, the deeper she falls into that mindset.
There's a break between seasons 1 and 2. Long enough for being alone to have effects-- she develops anxiety and depression that strengthens in early season 2.
One day, some people fly in near her little setup and come in search of Yoyleberries. Leafy has been using Yoyleberries as a food source and knows exactly where to find some. It's Gelatin, Puffball, and Needle.
Leafy doesn't attack them. She tries to hide and observe them at the same time and does a bad job at it. Metal is easy to see against purple and green!!
it's either Needle or Gelatin who spot her. Either way, she's pointed out and Needle's the one to approach her. Needle asks Leafy if this is where she's been the whole time and Leafy stammers, failing to find words.
Needle says she's worried. Leafy tells her to go away. Gelatin interrupts, asking Leafy if she's seen any big yoylebush patches. Leafy asks if they'll leave her alone if she helps. Gelatin promises!
After leading them to a patch of bushes, she walks off. Gelatin follows, telling her that they've collected all the berries they need and offering her a ride on Puffball back to the BFDIA playing field.
Leafy says no. Gelatin insists as Puffball floats right next to him, looking curious. Leafy keeps turning Gelatin down as Needle comes back to fetch her teammates... Just in time to see Leafy pushing Gelatin.
Needle intervenes, standing between Leafy and Gelatin. "What has gotten into you!?"
"Nothing," Leafy urges. "I just- I want to be alone, why can't you get that?"
"I was just.." Gelatin frowns, voice trailing off.
"Did you have to hurt him to prove your point?" Needle questions.
A scoff and chime from Puffball, "Yeah, we were trying to help you."
"Like you helped us," Gelatin adds.
"If you-" Leafy takes a deep breath. "If you wanted to help me, you'd go away! Leave me alone! Why can't you get that!?"
"Fine, decline our help." Needle then turns away, helping Gelatin onto Puffball before climbing on herself. "Let's go, guys."
Leafy notices the look of pity and distrust on Needle's face as Puffball flies away. She moves locations after that, deeper into Yoyleland.
The days are blurred. Leafy is falling down a hole and she may not be able to climb back out. Her mental health is steaming shit. She has conflicted feelings. She's self-destructive and full of so much anger with herself that it MANIFESTS.
Say hi to Evil Leafy. Leafy's negative thoughts wielded by a strange force that takes on a physical form and its own life. She sees Evil Leafy out of the corner of her eye one day and before she can react, Evil Leafy disappears. What was that!?
Honestly she may be convinced she's hallucinating. She doesn't see EL again for a long time! So! Yah!!
Leafy has been regretting chasing the BFDIA 1 party away. She's so lonely. She has to keep being alone, she's still punishing herself and it's only fair.
Desperation is strong.
When BFDIA moves to Yoyleland, Leafy is compelled to watch from a distance. This is what gets her in the throes of a serious competition that kills her.
She wouldn't expect to be recovered but...
She is.
As she slips out of the HPRC, Leafy sees a fading light. She hesitates and follows but as she turns the corner of the HPRC, nobody is there.
But somebody remembered her. Somebody cared to bring her back. Somebody cares about her.
Really, it could be anything-- pity, a genuine friend looking out for her, someone doing something nice Just Because--- but Leafy doesn't care.
This gives her HOPE.
The flashback of the talk with Ice Cube we saw in BFDIA 20? Let's visit it. Leafy somehow finds Ice Cube(or the other way around) and is ecstatic to see someone again. By now, it's been a hot minute since the BFDIA 1 party dropped by and a bit since she's been recovered.
Talking to someone is nice but.. Ice Cube is quiet(no shock there) and only talks when Leafy pesters her enough to. Leafy wants to hang out with Icy. She has so much energy that she just. HAS to talk and talk and talk-- because Ice Cube is her friend !
"We are not friends."
Leafy stops in her steps. Icy talks about the way Leafy went about handling Firey's rejection of her. Leafy is quick to defend herself, saying she thought Icy would be proud. Icy says NO. There is a FRAGILE LINE on the RIGHT THING and Leafy just. Shattered that line.
Leafy shuffles in place. Icy continues, telling Leafy that she doesn't just blame her-- some of the responsibility goes onto Announcer for letting Leafy purchase Dream Island.
But it doesn't erase what Leafy did. It doesn't erase what Firey did. Leafy handled things poorly and Icy does not want to be friends. Hell, with the way Leafy's behaving, she may not have any at all.
Leafy argues that SHE DOES! And she'll prove it! Ice Cube rolls her eyes and walks off, leaving Leafy in her dust.
Her involvement in BFDIA becomes more. She first tries talking to Gelatin. Gelatin is chill, much to Leafy's surprise. He's still grateful for her help in BFDIA 1, despite the outcome. Leafy asks if they're friends because of that and Gelatin says sure. I plan on letting them have that small friendship into IDFB. This will be important.
CODE CRACKED.
She tried Firey once or twice. He asked her who she was. Okay. Wow.
The more involvement? It takes Leafy a while to find the competition since they moved out of Yoyleland.
Leafy tries Tennis Ball. Tennis Ball thanks her for trying to help but isn't interested.
Leafy tries with Coiny. Coiny is DOWN for her help and Leafy asks if they're friends now. Coiny agrees. Sure.
Pin. She approaches Pin for that alliance, finding Pin alone and angry. She'd be down to help Pin with. Whatever. And they'd be friends!!
Pin's probably going to do one last big thing in BFDIA that does more harm than good. Leafy will be involved, feel horrible, and watch as Pin starts her redemption.
As discouraged as Leafy feels, this friendship thing works 9 times out of 10!!
IDFB
The focus for IDFB Leafy will be showing her integrating back into the community, as well as delving into her "do things for people = I will get what I want from them" mindset that stems from wanting friends.
She will be mending a lot of relationships and clearing up misunderstandings. All friendships have their ups and downs-- that's also something to keep in mind.
Her friendships with Gelatin?? She sees Firey a little more because those two are decent friends. Firey still acts like he doesn't know her. (I can't wait to get into Redux!Firey. I can't wait)
A lot of characters with issues as improving this season!! Snowball, Blocky, Flower, and Pin. Seeing them all improve keeps pushing Leafy to do the same.
She also befriends Flower during IDFB!! Expand that friend group gal. Do it!!
She does drift away from Gelatin. No big fight or anything, they just naturally grow apart! Leafy has her friends she's with and Gelatin the same.
BFB.
WHOOOOOO BFB!! I GO RABID.
Leafy pushes her team too hard and gets out early in BFB. YIKES BAD MISTAKE, Beep isn't a fan of her after.
...she gets back in shortly after, joining The Losers!.
They're an interesting bunch. Dysfunctional guys.
Clock is dead for a LONG TIME. His teammates forget about him and it hurts him. Sorry dude. This is for your future arc ^w^ Leafy doesn't get to meet him proper until episode 15.
Cake is a shy kid. He spends most of his time sitting in the background doing as told.
Firey is STILL pretending like he doesn't know Leafy. He's also short with everyone.
Eggy and Needle are desperately trying to keep the team from falling apart.
Coiny is acting as moral support to Pin, who's become red again. For them, old drama has risen. Everyone's on edge.
Leafy's awkward. She doesn't want to push anyone but she is being overly nice.
Late BFB pre-split,, when the ground turns to lava. Leafy is stuck on the bathroom roof. Needle is with Ice Cube and Taco on the other side. Curious, Leafy approaches, and gets blocked by Needle, who tells her to mind her own business.
A convenient guest of wind drags Leafy off the roof(that or she slips) and Needle fails to catch her-- but Firey does.
Leafy tells Firey that he can't ignore her now. Firey STILL acts like he doesn't know her and pulls her aside. Once they're alone(behind the bathrooms) where they have a talk. Firey tells Leafy to shut up about him knowing her. Leafy points out his lying. Firey tells Leafy that it's because nobody likes her anymore. Leafy is hurt and confused by this statement.
Maybe it's because Firey used to be her best friend.
But fine-- if he wants to be that way, they'll never talk again. Leafy clambers back onto the roof and crosses her arms. Firey drifts off.
Four announces the challenge!! It's to get back to him.
...Firey comes back for Leafy. Leafy doesn't want to comply with him because they agreed to stop interacting. The two of them start arguing and Needle pushes Leafy into Firey's hands. She could hear them the whole time!
They bicker off and on while they travel to Four. The lava drains and Leafy gets Four to recover Eggy-- just to confirm that they're friends. See, Firey!? Not EVERYONE hates her smh.
Firey tells Eggy that Leafy stole Dream Island. Eggy looks mildly uncomfortable and Firey seems to take this as a victory.
Coiny takes Leafy aside, offering a listening ear. He later invites Leafy to go get their dead teammates revived post-challenge.
When Two comes down, Leafy isn't interested. She doesn't want to quit the game she's dedicated herself to.
Post-split BFB is an area of I want to do a lot of changing in. I don't HATE it-- I find it quite enjoyable-- but I want to do a lot of reworks.
I want to focus on BFB 22 for a second here. For context: Donut's diary has been stolen and the contest is to find out who stole it or
When Leafy takes over for questioning, she calls Firey to the stand. Firey doesn't give Leafy a chance to talk, accusing her of stealing the diary and crafting an elaborate lie to go with it.
Leafy convinces Four to let her and Firey talk outside the courthouse. This has been stewing in the back of my mind for weeks, HERE WE GO!!!
"What was that about?" Leafy taps a foot.
"What?"
"Your story! You lied! I came to the Have Nots to check on what you guys were up to. You never got between the argument of Flower and Taco. I didn't say any of that. You- you lied!"
Firey hums and looks away.
"Why? D'oh, don't tell me you stole the diary." Leafy shuffles in place.
Firey grunts.
"Firey? Why would you do that?"
"Because YOU stole Dream Island from me!" Firey points at Leafy, tone harsh.
"...what?" Leafy deadpans. "You... Stole Donut's diary because I stole Dream Island?"
"I battled for two years* to win Dream Island and- and you just took it away from me!" Firey rubs his temple.
"Because you didn't let me in!"
"You- you still stole it! You went to the Announcer and now I lost my chance with you- with winning! And then we competed again and I didn't win a prize and now we're competing for?? What? A BFB that I might not even win based on votes? Woody and Blocky got more than me!
"I have no chance! I'm never going to win anything because of you! So I took it, so what? I- I deserve to have something valuable-- everyone said they wanted that diary. I wanted it! It's only fair I have something everyone wants--"
"You're still mad about that?"
Firey stops. "What?"
"It's been years, Firey." Leafy pauses. She should bring this up while the time is right. "Why are you still distancing yourself from me? What's the point?"
"...I- we were arguing... I don't remember why but something you said hurt me, Leafy. My best friend. Not my rival or enemy. So I didn't let you onto Dream Island and you stole it. You stole it and you never apologized. You never faced consequences-"
"I did."
"You didn't." Firey stares at her.
"I did," Leafy repeats herself firmly. "When I went through that map, I ended up in Yoyleland and forced myself to live in solitaire for over a year. Every day, I blamed and ridiculed myself for buying Dream Island-- because I thought I was irredeemable and hurt everyone. I blamed myself and I punished myself and lived with that guilt eating me alive every day."
Leafy takes a deep, controlled breath. "So yes, I didn't apologize to you and it's because I thought by now you'd have realized how horrible I felt. You've held on to a grudge because of a stupid choice I made when I was younger and I'm sorry for buying Dream Island."
"B-"
"But you've hurt me too, Firey."
"I know."
"To get back at me," Leafy grunts.
"No. I still care about you, Leafy," Firey argues and Leafy raises a brow. "On that boat, I saw them chasing you. I felt bad and I knew I could've intervened and it was easier not to."
"Then why- why didn't you try reaching out? Firey, you lied about knowing me for- goodness, years. You ignored and excluded me and were so guarded and angry and rude to me."
Firey swallows. "I... when I saw how much they hated you, I decided it would be easier to ignore your existence. I felt bad but it became number overtime. I did what I could to avoid the topic of you-- and then avoid you-- because I thought they would hate me too. And- and when you became friends with Gelatin I had to avoid you even more--"
A deep breath. "But I couldn't when you joined The Losers! and talked to Pin, Coiny, and Needle. They knew about you. They knew I knew but I was still convinced everyone hated you and Beep proved my point. Through it all, I- I never stopped caring, I swear."
"You have a funny way of showing it. I want to be your friend and get along, Firey." Leafy lowers her gaze. "I do, but you make it so hard... Don't.. don't make the same mistake I did and steal things for petty reasons."
"I'm sorry."
Leafy blinks rapidly. "You..."
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't've done that. I shouldn't've stolen the diary. And I'm sorry for denying you entry to Dream Island, ignoring you, and not helping you. I was ignorant to how badly it was hurting you. I want to be friends again too, Leafy."
Leafy sighs. "It's going to take time."
"Let it. We can start fresh."
A warm smile crosses Leafy's face. "Yeah."
I PUT MY HEART AND SOUL INTO THAT SNIPPET!! BFB 22 aka Firey learns accountability 🥰
After this, X finds out Firey stole the diary and his team is up for elimination.
Leafy takes the time to visit Firey after he's eliminated. Trust is slow to build back up but they're working on it.
It becomes easier to visit Firey after Leafy herself is eliminated!!
Once BFB ends, they're in a close enough relationship to try finding their own island to prosper on together.
With Firey's handyman capabilities and Leafy's survival skills, they make one fine team! There's kinks to solve but together they manage to talk their feelings out and find a compromise.
TPOT!!
One day, on their little island, a storm starts. Leafy helps Firey get to shelter and then she's gone. Perhaps One got to her or she died. We'll see what they are doing with her in canon!!
*This may change to be shorter timespan.
I AM SO PROUD OF THIS GAHHHDBDBEUEUDHSJAJAAHHH IT WAS WORTH HALF A WEEK OF BRAINSTORMING!!

Minneapolis did something bold to address its affordable housing crisis. The city council abolished single-family-home zoning and will allow duplexes and triplexes to be built anywhere in the city. Single-family-only neighborhoods are woven into the DNA of the American dream: the leafy, peaceful street lined with stand-alone houses, green lawns and plenty of elbow room. But Minneapolis’ new vision of itself would essentially rewrite that code—reshaping the urban streetscape around walking and mass transit and rebooting the American dream to be more racially and economically inclusive. Janne Flisrand and John Edwards👆are leading that charge with their group, Neighbors for More Neighbors. Link in bio for more on Minneapolis' innovative solution to create more affordable housing. 📸 @markpetersonpixs/Redux for @politicomag #minneapolis #minnesota #affordablehousing #urbanplanning https://ift.tt/2LWNQYz

Is this the most beautiful bookstore in the world?
Tumblr media
The El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookshop in Buenos Aires, Argentina has been called the world's most beautiful bookstore. Bibliophile and literary travel lover Shelley Seale checks it out for herself.
I'm currently Trading Places in Buenos Aires, a city I've fallen in love with. It's my first time to Argentina, and I've found Buenos Aires (as many people have) to be a beautiful city that is quite reminiscent of Paris — perhaps with a little bit of Rome and New York thrown in here and there. Wide boulevards, leafy streets, an energetic vibe and gorgeous architecture abound. One of the places I had read about before coming here was the El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookstore, and I was excited about checking it out for myself. As a writer and major bookworm, one of my favorite places to be anywhere is a bookshop, and I love checking out bookstores and libraries when I travel. The El Ateneo was also just named the "world's most beautiful bookstore" by National Geographic in 2019 — this coming on the heels of being called one of the world's most beautiful bookshops by The Guardian in 2008 and then again in 2015.
Tumblr media
The El Ateneo bookstore from National Geographic. PHOTOGRAPH BY PAUL HAHN, REDUX And so, on my first full day in the city, I headed straight for the El Ateneo. I'll admit, after reading about it and seeing some of the glorious photos, like above, I had high expectations. The El Ateneo Grand Splendid did not disappoint — and its lofty name is absolutely deserved.
Tumblr media
Note the real estate sign on a balcony? Yes, an apartment above El Ateneo bookstore is for sale. I am tempted! It sits on the busy Santa Fe Avenue of the Recoleta neighborhood, known as the area where the early, wealthy, elite inhabitants of Buenos Aires built their mansions and palaces in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The exterior of the building itself is quite beautiful, but stepping inside is truly like stepping into a book lover's fairytale fantasy land. The building was originally a theater, built in 1919 during the glory days of Buenos Aires when it was one of the wealthiest, most important countries in the world. Called the Teatro Grand Splendid, the lavish interior is jaw-dropping with the original frescoed ceilings, ornate theater boxes, elegant rounded balconies, detailed trimmings, and plush red stage curtains. It remains as stunning today as when it was first envisioned by architects Peró and Torres Armengol. In 1929, the theater underwent its first transformation to become a cinema, with the distinction of being the first in Buenos Aires to show sound film. It was converted into the bookstore some 15 years ago — before which it was scheduled for demolition due to Argentina's struggling economy. The thought of that actually makes me shudder. Just take a look at my photos! It would be a crime to have lost this gorgeous jewel of architecture. If you love literary travel like I do, you will definitely want to visit the El Ateneo, world's most beautiful bookstore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can visit El Ateneo (if you come to Buenos Aires, I urge you not to miss it!), and even have a coffee and enjoy live piano music in the cafe that's located on the very stage where the Argentinean stars of tango once performed. Here's a short video I took strolling through the El Ateneo, and a few more photos below. Incredible!

Heart Healthy Snacks for Kids
It’s so easy to reach for a bag of chips or a box of cookies instead of something healthy, but if your children are like most, once you offer up a healthy snack your children will grow to love the taste.
Here are some snacks that are good for your heart:
Old Classics:
* Ants on the log – Take a stalk of celery; cut it up into “logs.” Cover it in heart healthy nut butter (peanut or almond) and then sprinkle with raisins. A tasty, fun, heart-healthy snack.
* Banana boats – These are a fun alternative to s’mores around the campfire. Take a banana, slit the peel, keep the banana in but cover it with marshmallows and antioxidant dark chocolate chips. Or make the banana into a little car with slices of kiwi for wheels and strawberries in the driver’s seat.
* Wagon wheels – Take two circular whole-grain crackers, put fat-free, 1% or low-fat cheese in between and you have a healthy snack in the shape of a wagon wheel.
* Wagon wheels redux – A new take on the old classic. Slice up an apple on its side to create circles. Fill with low-fat turkey or low-fat cheese and you have a nice low-carb, gluten-free snack.
Make Your Own:
* Create your own tortilla chips. Take whole wheat tortillas, cut in strips, brush or spray with a touch of heart-healthy olive oil and bake in the oven at 400 degrees F until crispy. You can also add cinnamon sugar for a sweet treat.
* Bake your own fries. Take a potato or for an even healthier vitamin A-enriched snack, a sweet potato, and slice it into 1/8- to 1/4-inch strips. Again, brush or spray with olive oil and bake in the oven at 425 degrees. After 20 minutes, shake a little salt over them, raise the temperature to 450 and bake ten more minutes until crispy.
* Pumpkin seeds are packed with magnesium. While carving your pumpkin, set the seeds aside, rinse and spread them out on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking oil (try the omega-3 heart-healthy spray). Sprinkle with salt and roast at 250 for 45 minutes to an hour. Many recommend chili powder, Cajon seasoning or garlic powder on this tasty snack.
Make Ordinary Food Fun:
* Instead of just a fruit salad, try fruit kebabs. Or let your children make their own kebabs and share them with the family. You can use toothpicks or actual kebab skewers and add slices of banana, strawberries, kiwi, pineapple or melon to make a fun and festive heart-healthy snack.
* Consider turning boring veggie trays into a Halloween skeleton everyone wants to eat. You can build red pepper ribs, a cucumber slice spine, celery stick shoulders, baby carrot arms, cauliflower hands, a bowl of ranch dip for the face, black olive eyes and leafy kale as hair. And you can do the same for any holiday coming up — blueberries, strawberries and bananas are great for designing fun Independence Day treats and so on.
Sometimes substituting a heart-healthy snack for a junk food snack just takes a little creativity or a quick trip down the fruit and veggie aisle at the grocery store.
If time’s running low, here are a few easy things to stash in your purse as heart-healthy snacks: a package of unsalted almonds or sunflower seeds, apples, oranges or grapes, baby carrots and hummus, whole grain crackers and low-fat string cheese, water.
A heart-healthy snack takes minutes to prepare and is full of vitamins, fiber and low in cholesterol.
Consider taking a few minutes to prepare a heart-healthy snack for your children’s after-school snack, and you’ll find that a few small changes can make a big impact on your child’s health and eating habits.

Havana: Insider Travel Guide
(CNN)Exotic, mysterious, vibrant, Havana is steeped in time-worn splendor. But with President Barack Obama announcing a historic overhaul in relations between the United States and Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean and its capital of Havana stand on the precipice of dramatic change.
Old Havana overflows with colonial castles, convents and cobbled plazas. Detroit dowagers with fins sharp enough to draw blood rattle along the Malecn seafront boulevard. And the Tropicana cabaret — a sensual salsa-charged extravaganza — recalls the pre-revolutionary heyday of sin.
Welcome to communism, Caribbean style. Socialism and sensuality.
Havana’s gritty, faintly louche authenticity is unique — an enthralling amalgam of colonialism, capitalism and communism.
It’s also uniquely charming. You won’t want to sleep for missing a vital experience as you explore streets haunted by Ernest Hemingway’s ghost.
But even before Obama’s December phone call with Cuban President Raul Castro that reflected the first communication at the presidential level with Cuba since the Cuban revolution, Havana was in dramatic flux.
A how-to guide to visiting Cuba
Private restaurants (called “paladares”) in private homes have been improving the dining scene for years.
Sophisticated boutique hotels exuding colonial-tinged Miami chic have already been filled with U.S. visitors (thanks to a recent “people-to-people” license provision), who now outnumber Canadian and European tourists.
Here’s what to do in Havana.
Hotels
Luxury
Hotel Saratoga
Savvy European investors are behind the glam Saratoga, Havana’s primo hotel.
Its colonial facade is just that — within are cavernous rooms boasting chic styling and 21st-century amenities.
It’s the only Havana hotel with free Wi-Fi.
The rooftop pool has a sundeck for lounging and tanning, perfect when planning what to do in Havana.
At the Moorish-themed Anacaona restaurant, you can puff a cigar and have a cocktail in the neon-lit mezzanine bar.
Hotel Nacional
Rising over the seafront Malecn, this landmark grand dame is touted as the city’s top hotel.
Through the decades, a parade of A-listers — from Al Capone to Naomi Campbell — has slept here.
Accommodations are a bit worn. Executive-level rooms fare better and are worth the splurge.
The Moorish-themed lobby offers a great architectural photo op.
Stogies and mojitos on the patio bar are a good precursor to the titillation at the hotel’s Parisien Cabaret.
Mid-range
Hostal Los Frailes
Steps from Plaza Vieja in the heart of Habana Vieja (Old Havana), this boutique charmer plays on a monastic theme, including staff dressed in monks’ habits.
No medieval austerity here, however — guest rooms have all modern amenities.
A lively quartet performs expertly in the lobby bar.
Historic sites surround the hotel.
The nearby plaza has art galleries, museums and a tavern.
Budget
Hostal Valencia
Take the former home of a Spanish count, then turn the ground floor into a paella restaurant and bistro bar and the upper level into antique-filled bedrooms with cool marble floors.
The result?
A bargain-priced beauty in the thick of the colonial quarter.
Every room is distinct.
Many have balconies overlooking the street, although some lack air-conditioning, and hot water is never guaranteed.
Dining
La Guajira
Beloved by Havana’s diplomats, gourmand expats and visiting VIPs, Cuba’s trendiest restaurant is booked solid every night of the week.
Its setting — the third floor of a near-derelict yet photogenic building in the gritty Cerro district — belongs in a Fellini movie.
The cozy setting is enhanced by original artwork and posters festooning the walls.
Owner Enrique Nuez has lived in Spain and brings a European savoir-faire to the menu, such as the signature honey-mustard chicken and pork medallions in mango sauce.
You might recognize La Guardia as the setting for the hit-movie “Fresa y Chocolate.”
After you’ve settled on what to do in Havana, this is where to settle on what eat.
La Guajira, Calle Concordia 418, Centro Habana; +53 7 866 9047
Caf Laurent
This recently opened paladar (“paladares” are private restaurants, often located inside proprietors’ homes) occupies a rooftop penthouse suite in the Vedado district.
It dishes out some of the best food in town on a changing menu.
The chocolate brownie is exceptional.
There’s a lovely cocktail terrace with dramatic views of the Focsa building.
The retro-stylish decor would fit well in Miami’s South Beach — reason enough to throw on dressier clothes.
The prices are an absolute bargain, and the service is spot on.
Le Chansonnier
The jaded exterior of a Beaux Arts mansion belies the colonial-meets-contemporary beauty of this lavishly decorated private restaurant — it’s the impeccable conception of owner Hector Higueras.
French influences fuse with Cuban ingredients on the changing menu.
Octopus in squid ink followed by chicken breast with tamarind sauce is memorable when available.
The music is happening and, rare for Cuba, the main dining room is non-smoking.
Smokers get their own private space, while romantics can request the canopied table on the terrace.
Atelier
A trio of siblings conjured an idiosyncratic centenary mansion into this cosmopolitan paladar atop a five-story apartment building. Expats flock here — your best thumbs-up indicator in Havana.
The chefs aren’t afraid to experiment, from candied duck to a delicious sirloin steak with shrimp and celery mousse.
Daily menus are scribbled on Cuban ration cards.
The portions, however, will not leave you wanting.
You can hang out on a spacious balcony with plump cushioned, poured concrete sofas.
La Torre
With the best views in town, this state-run restaurant on the 33rd floor of Havana’s tallest building has wraparound walls of glass for a panoramic perspective.
The south side offers the most mind-boggling views.
It’s a good place for long look while deciding what to do in Havana.
The menu combines continental and Cuban staples.
Classic dishes are ropa vieja (braised beef with white rice and veggies) or fish fillet poached in white wine, followed by the best profiteroles in town.
El Aljibe
Recently forsaken by the expat community and now a staple of tour groups, “The Well” still serves perhaps the best roast chicken (in orange sauce) in Havana.
Sure, the la carte menu has something for every palate, but the all-you-can-eat house chicken dish with all the trimmings is the best bet for those with big appetites.
This thatched, open-air restaurant in the tony Miramar district has a huge wine list, plus a cigar shop.
Service can be slow when the groups invade.
Los Nardos
The long line to enter this restaurant says it all.
Up a set of crumbling stairs in an equally tumbledown building opposite the Capitolio, this hidden spot delivers heaping portions of Cuban staples.
Favorites include garlic shrimp, and lobster in Catalan sauce.
The house sangria is good and served for groups in pitchers.
The semi-private restaurant is run by the Spanish Asturian Association, so service is on the ball.
The best place to sit is the main room on the second floor, with its hand-crafted wooden furniture.
Coppelia
Cubans love ice cream and worship at this shrine, which takes up an entire block in the heart of Vedado, handily close to key hotels.
Alas, foreigners are relegated to their own tiny section and charged CUC1 per scoop.
Savvy visitors will befriend Cubans in line and join them in one of the leafy park sections or, on rainy days, in a 1950s-era spaceship-like building.
Here, a mere five pesos will buy a bowl-full of delicious ice cream.
Congratulations!
You’ve just experienced a Cuban rite of passage in true habanero style.
Nightlife
Tropicana
Sure, the Revolution shuttered the strip clubs, but stiletto-heeled paganism still rules at Havana’s sauciest (and largest) Las Vegas-style cabaret.
More than 200 performers shake, shimmy and croon in this open-air paean to retro redux titillation.
Even female patrons love it, not least for the over-the-top decor and the show’s Adonis-like acrobats.
It’ll burn a hole in your wallet, but a cigar and a bottle of rum (plus cola) are thrown in to ensure your enjoyment.
Casa de la Msica
Havana’s hottest dance club draws aficionados who really know how to burn up the floor, and they’re not shy about inviting foreign newbies to dance.
Cuba’s hottest bands often perform here.
Headliners often don’t crank up until well beyond midnight, good justification for an afternoon siesta.
Taberna de la Muralla
At this Old Havana brewpub, seating spills onto Plaza Vieja.
Dedicated sudsters may be heartened to know that the operation was set up and is co-managed by Austrians. It serves a refreshing pilsner and a heartier dark brew.
Serious drinkers (or groups) can order a three-liter dispensa — a tall glass cylinder with a tap and an ice-filled center tube to keep the beer cold.
Caf Concierto Gato Tuerto
You half-expect Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack to show up at this classy 1950s-style dive, steps from the Hotel Nacional.
Any night is potluck for live music — acts can span from sultry bolero to funk to reggaeton.
It makes a great date spot, although it lacks space for dancing and can get smoky.
Still, it’s a great place to put on the list when thinking about what to do in Havana.
There’s an upstairs restaurant, but the club gets packed, so you’ll have to eat early if you want a prime seat for the show.
Shopping / Attractions
Habana BusTour
For an overview of the city and what to do in Havana, there’s no better option than jumping on an open-top, double-decker anywhere along the HabanaBusTour circuit.
The fare (CUC5) is good for 24 hours, and you can jump on and off at any of 44 stops.
If you want rays at the beach, board a single decker at Parque Central and head to Playas del Este.
Plaza Vieja
The most magical of the colonial quarter’s four major squares recently emerged from a decade-long restoration.
Centuries-old buildings on each side now gleam like confections of stone.
The checklist of “musts” includes the Museo de Naipes (Playing Cards Museum) and Planetario (planetarium).
An elevator climbs to the rooftop of Edificio Gmez, where you can enjoy a 360-degree look at real-time life viewed through a Cmara Oscura.
Now you’ve earned a cold one at the Taberna de la Muralla.
Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes
Housed in an impressive 1950s Modernist structure, the three-story Fine Arts Museum (Cuban section) mesmerizes with its best-of paintings, lithographs and sculptures spanning four centuries.
The highlight is the 20th-century collection exhibiting such hallowed names as Armando Menocal, Wifredo Lam and Ren Portocarrero.
For insight, you’ll need to hire an English-speaking guide (CUC2).
Plaza de la Revolucin
Gone are the days when Fidel bewitched crowds here with his obfuscating oratory, but this vast plaza will cause gasps of appreciation.
Wow-inducing sights include the 18-meter-tall marble statue of national hero Jos Mart fronting the government palace (where the Castro brothers hatch state policy).
Keeping an eye on things is a five-story-tall iconic visage of Che Guevara affixed, appropriately, to the facade of the spooky Ministry of the Interior.
If possible, time your visit for the May Day Parade (May 1).
Museo Ernest Hemingway
The ultimate shrine for fans of “Papa” is the Nobel Prize-winning author’s former home, Finca Viga, on the southeast outskirts of town, a 30-minute drive.
The hilltop estate is maintained just as Hemingway left it, with his priceless possessions in situ.
You can’t actually go inside, however. You peer through open doors and windows.
His sport-fishing vessel, “Pilar,” is poised atop stilts in the garden.
Playas del Este
On hot weekends, half of Havana seems to head to the “Eastern Beaches” to tan, party and flirt.
The sugar-white sands dissolve into turquoise waters perfect for lazing and swimming — in winter you might encounter jellyfish in the water.
You can rent pedal-boats and windsurf. Thatched ranchitos sell grilled fish and offer respite from the heat.
Tarar is the nicest section and has the most facilities, but it charges for entrance (CUC10).
Las Terrazas
This sustainable community is where habaneros head for a breath of fresh mountain air.
Hiking trails and colonial-era coffee estates await exploration, and specialist birding guides will take you in search of the tocoror, the national bird. Landscape artist Lester Campa’s pleasant studio is worth a stop.
You can grab an al fresco lunch at Fonda de Mercedes, and a cappuccino at Caf Maria.
Las Terrazas, Autopista Nacional Habana-Pinar del Ro, Kilometer 52; +53 48 57 8600
Parque Nacional de Viales
Nothing in Cuba rivals the Valle de Viales for scenic beauty.
It’s a popular destination for nature fans who hike, horseback ride and gape at dramatic limestone formations called mogotes.
This is also primo tobacco country.
The best time to visit is winter, when the fields are planted; or spring, when the tobacco is harvested.
Parque Nacional de Viales, 26 kilometers north of Pinar del Ro and 212 kilometers west of Havana

Absolutely loving this blog. Do you fw the head cannon that Leafy would hate the taste / smell of yoyelberries after being forced to eat them for years?
Also your opinion on having any romantic relations in redux! since the og series doesn't have any romance at all.
Sorry if this sounds a bit awkward I wasn't sure how to phrase everything.
No need to apologize Anon!! It's all fine, I understood !
I do fw that headcanon. I can imagine--
Months/years in isolation destroyed Leafy.
She hated herself. She punished herself. She pushed everyone who tried to help away. She told herself that she deserved it.
Yoyleland had very little food sources. She turned to yoylebushes and their budding fruit: yoyleberries.
Fresh, ripe, unprocessed yoyleberries.
The cool smell of the leaves, like mint, while the fruit was balmy. The initial sweet flavor on the tongue, followed by sour the longer it sat in her mouth. The metallic aftertaste.
Sometimes, she can still smell and taste it. Nobody will bring it up and she can feel it on her tongue, in her nostrils.. she HATES it.
-
Now, in the romance department!!
I am not that much of a romantic myself,,, but I know a thing or two about writing it!! And I've confirmed romantic attractions for several characters.
I think it's a wonderful idea!! Part of the redux is presenting different dynamics and relationships. Healthy, unhealthy, or otherwise.
I think Match had feelings for Pencil around BFDIA-IDFB. It began to die down in BFB, especially after both of their eliminations. They suddenly had problems. (Six years of trauma) Doomed toxic one-sided yuri!
I also considered Needle and Pencil, which would also be toxic and probably doomed because of the way Pencil was with Needle in BFDIA and how she is with her whole team in IDFB. (inspired by this tiktok)
I toyed with Golf Ball and Tennis Ball but I find it didn't go anywhere, I didn't like it. I ended up giving the flirtiness between them in BFB to Lollipop. The old character proposal I made for them is getting a huge overhaul!
Lollipop flirts with every friend she makes but she is a lesbian!! If Teardrop stuck around after BFB ended, the two of them would've kissed. TD is demiromantic!!
Pen, Blocky, and Eraser as a polycule mayhaps? With Blocky splitting off following BFB post-split and maybe doing something with Woody. I like queer relationships I am queer
Price Tag and Book could be worth something. They're both in a good headspace for it in TPOT!
If the audience has any suggestions, I am all ears!! They do not have to be healthy. They can be toxic and doomed.

Note
do you have any backstories for the characters? ^^ i would love to know
HAHAHHAHA!!! BACKSTORY TIME! BACKSTORY TIME!! Kicking my feet.
Some characters have drafted backstories!! I'll go over every one I can remember/have planned. I'll count backstory as anything that happened pre-BFDI or before the character's debut in a gameshow season.
CAKE
Cake was raised by two parents who did NOT get along. The only reason they were together was to keep him happy(good job /s!) This meant a lot of conflict. Even over the smallest things-- they could not stand each other.
It's not even that they were bad people either. They just. DID NOT GET ALONG. And his school life wasn't much better: bullies and little friends are a shitty mix.
So, going into teenagehood, Cake drowned out his problems by popping in some earbuds and listening to music while working. His SMALL circle had huge Goiky's Dragons fans, so tabletop RPGs were a good way for him to stay distracted.
He also had his trans actualization when he started getting into Loser as a preteen. Cake was a DIEHARD Loser fan at the time and idolized the man. He dreamed of going to Loser's performances and meeting Loser in person.
I want to make an IDFB episode that focuses on Cake!! Tempted to call the episode "Cake Day"! It would be about Cake and his grandfathers on his mother's side taking him to a live Loser show for his 16th birthday. It'll introduce both characters!
LOSER AND WINNER
They met during highschool, in which Winner got some bullies to leave Loser alone.
They both started off as kids with big dreams. Loser wanted to make it far from the start and Winner was there to support him through it all.
In their early twenties, they got into a talent show and were met with praise, basking in the attention. Within a month, they became a viral sensation.
Loser loved it. Winner didn't. They felt pressured and stressed. So, when Loser came to them with a movie deal, Winner finally put a stop to their team-up. There wasn't a big fight. Loser tried to be understanding and was deeply hurt. He eventually broke contact with Winner and went off on his own.
Winner faded into obscurity-- no matter how hard they tried to get back into the spotlight, hoping to be seen by Loser again, it never worked out.
FLOWER
I don't have a strong idea but I do have the foundation for a backstory!!
Flower was brought up in a wealthy family, raised in values of status and fortune. Stereotypical rich highschool popular girl bully.
Her parents made it very clear to her that she would eventually be on her own and have to learn to fend for herself. To act like and be an adult. They gave her starter funds when she said she was ready to move out.
PIN
Raised by great people who encouraged her to express herself. To be herself no matter what stands in her way. We'll see how that turns out.
TWO
This algebralien has a streak of bad luck to their name!
Friendships rarely did work out for them. Despite being omnipotent, Two was pushed into doing what others wanted. Two wants others to like them. Others(One) took advantage of their power.
They had a best friend in One, or so they thought. When One was trapped away, they felt at fault and struggled with their self esteem for a long time.
Then they met Eight!! They and Eight would all. Become a QPP-- which ended after Two helped Fourteen. Right before Fourteen showed his true colors.
So, Two left the algebralien world behind in search of new adventures.
RUBY
The youngest of too many sisters to count!!
Ruby's sisters were all majorly successful in some form or another-- artists, scientists, doctors, CEOs... The list goes on! Ruby wanted to be successful too. In her childhood, Ruby explored several things to find what she liked. She tried cooking, photography, painting, and writing before landing on acting.
With the support of her closest sisters, Ruby pursued her goals and applied for BFDIA to get her name out there.
LEAFY
Leafy spent a lot of her life with her legal guardian, her uncle!! She probably had a forest in her backyard. In her childhood, she'd go to summer camps that taught her vital survival skills for the wilderness-- skills Leafy would put to use by going camping with her uncle in the fall.
GOLF BALL
Golf Ball grew up in a small town in Yoyleland and moved to Yoylecity for college. One day, perhaps a few years into her studies, something happens in Yoylecity that causes it to be abandoned-- and leave Golf Ball with some serious trauma.
I don't have enough clues from Canon!IDFB to tell you what exactly happened,, but as I start to piece together a solid timeline I should be able to.
GELATIN
Gelatin got into science during middle school. It started with biology, went into biochemistry, and finally landed permanently on chemistry.
After graduating highschool, Gelatin started college-- having to stop halfway through this parent's steakhouse business that he inherited and did not want.
FOUR, X, AND ROBOTY
The epitome of algebralien chaos and his polite best friend!!
So, I don't know how Four and X got their powers, but they have some!!
X and Four met at a young age! They stuck together through rough patches and as they began to discover their own power. Four easily learned to master theirs while X fell behind and began to show signs of struggling with their own self-worth.
Four frequented the Equation Playground because X spent a lot of their time there. Through X, they met a lot of other integers-- including Two, who set up doorways into personal domains for ease of access. X was on good terms (but not particularly close friends) with everyone.
However, due to boredom, Four began looking for other things to do and took X along with him. X eagerly complied. This included Four being inspired enough by Two making those gateways-- they tried making one of their own and made a lifeform with a gateway instead.
Roboty! Four gave him to X as a gift so X could go to Four's domain without Four being present. X took Roboty everywhere with them.
One day, Four had the idea for a new adventure. He had seen BFDI and BFDIA and wanted to try it for himself!! When you get this number obsessed with something, it's hard to get him to stop.
He made a physical copy of BFDI and then got X and Roboty to come with him, proposing an impulse season for BFDIA: BFB. X was ecstatic and Roboty did not want in.
A couple of much rougher ideas -
Snowball being raised around bigotry and toxicity, specifically idealizing strength.
Basketball being into robotics as a kid and pursuing it as a job.

I feel like Leafy should have been more affected by her time in exile. Idk she comes back to bfb almost the same but a biiit more aggressive but like, if I spent YEARS of my life in exile, I’d definitely change.
Impulsive choices in response to extreme emotions.
I don't want her to go from cool nice gal to isolated and thus kill. Kill eveything. Y'know?
I want to foreshadow Leafy buying Dream Island off of Announcer. Let her be good-natured and impulsive. I also want a different reason for Firey to deny her a place in Dream Island-- I mean,, he lets his #1 enemy in the show in, Flower too. But NOT Leafy.????
The two of them will have a strong bond going into BFDI. Leafy will do something that hurts Firey and because it's coming from his best friend and nobody else, he denies her.
So, Leafy purchases Dream Island. Announcer, rather than taking a lick of accountability for accepting the offer, redirects everyone anger to Leafy.
The confrontation is heated. There's yelling all around her and very few people defend. The ones who seem like they want to (Bubble. It's just kind ol' Bubble) get shut down. It even (nearly?) gets physical. Leafy runs.
She takes the Convenient Goiky Map That Teleports You and ends up in Yoyleland. I'm thinking maybe Book ends up with it and keeps it stored away after it's torn in half by Pin. Good way to get Leafy to realize Book had it and to tell her how to use it in BFDIA 19!
Leafy spends most of the season isolated, feeling remorseful. Because of the way she left, she feels like she has to punish herself. She did this to herself, didn't she? She ran away from her actions and now she's stuck in a country she doesn't know.
She's got good survival skills but... She's lonely. She develops anxiety. She gets aggressive with people because she's slipping mentally. Days become blurred together, she rarely gets to see others, and her own self-destructive thoughts DON'T help.
Somewhere in her isolation, her feelings are warped. She has to do nice things to redeem herself, right? Being nice will get her friends again.
AND IT WORKS! She gets rewarded. She'll hold onto that thought process into BFB.
At the end of BFDIA, Leafy starts interacting with everyone again. The veterans are still hesitant, and some will continue to hold that grudge, but the newbies are nicer to her.
I plan on having Redux!IDFB be pretty long!! I want to follow what they do in canon IDFB but it's untouched, so free reign!! It'll give a chance to have Leafy transition into her BFB self. IDFB will also be used to take a break from the gameshow format, be slice-of-life, and set up season 4.
I have IDFB 1's rewrite planned and a concept for Cake getting an episode that introduces him and Loser!!

im curious what youll do with leafy! i may or may not be stealing this headcanon from a moot but i think leafy being plural and developing evil leafy as a headmate after firey doeant let her on dream island is a cool idea? she could probably be isologenic after being alone for such a long time with nothing but her thoughts yk? though i feel it could be hard portraying it correctly since it could be a harmful stereotype
Disclaimer - I do not have DID or OSDD. I can't speak for them. If you have it and want to go for this, take the idea and spin it, or just generally give input GO FOR IT! I want to hear what you have to say, your words matter.
You're right on the spot with your worries-- portraying a harmful stereotype(Evil alter.) Evil Leafy has it in her name. She lives in an evil forest. She possessed and kills and torments just because. Leafy, on the other hand, is (trying to be) a REALLY NICE GUY. She isn't perfect but she's taking the right steps. I do plan on toning down her antagonism in BFDIA-- less murder, more isolation and self-doubt.
So, I won't be doing this with Leafy.
I'd love to give a character DID or OSDD. The more representation, the better!! My priority is remaining respectful in that representation so I will be ensuring to do a lot of research on my end.

unrelated to the actual ask but this got me thinking about these two’s dynamic in redux
i imagine at some point something goes wrong (or just not quite right) and leafy has an episode about it. she starts yelling at people and eventually, retaining enough self-awareness to realize this, storms off to some remote corner of the island as to not hurt anyone with her outburst
firey’s just kinda left there dumbfounded, at least at first. he starts to think something like “why is she even so upset? nothing even-” but, remembering what the two of them have been working on together, quickly changes his thought process to “she’s upset. it doesn’t matter why, she’s just upset” and he leaves the contestants to their devices to go find her
he finds her quietly sobbing to herself in a corner, muttering that nothing she does ever goes right and that everyone is going to hate her again. he starts to remember what they went over, looking at the “one” he’s counted on his finger. he asks if it’s okay for him to be there, and she slowly nods, almost as if surprised by his presence
he sits next to her, looks at the “two” he’s counted on his hand, and asks if she wants to talk about how she’s feeling. she shakes her head no, and the two sit there for a minute in silence. he counts a “three” on his hand, and asks if she would like him to do anything. she begins to respond, but is taken aback by something she notices
“are you counting out the steps i taught you?” somewhat embarrassed, firey affirms, before quickly asking if he had done anything wrong. she responds that no, he hasn’t. she was just caught off guard by the physical counting. he says its to help him remember how to help her, and she starts giggling, the jarringness of the realization throwing her out of her funk
he makes a show of counting out a “four”, to leafy’s bemusement, and asks if she’s ready to get back to everyone else. she says she is, and the two walk back to the contestants, ready to finish off the episode.
i feel like redux firey and leafy would hate two because they not only split bfb and stole many of the contestants, and we don't really know how the final fourteen feel about two besides teardrop, but because firey and leafy are just so full of themselves when hosting that they snobbishly criticize two by basically saying he's too nice of a host
i’ll give my take
for canon firey and leafy: leafy would probably commend two for what a kind and caring host they are, but also tactfully scorn them for interrupting poor four’s show. i don’t think firey would give much of a darn about two. if anything, he’d thank them for getting him a good deal further in the competition
these opinions would extend to the redux hosts, at least at first. one or both of them might start getting a bit big-headed over their position of power (leafy with how exceptionally nice she is to her contestants, and firey for how absolutely awesome his competition ideas are). that in turn might get them to think less of former hosts, including two. but overall, with how small scale redux is, i don’t think it’d get to their heads that much. just enough to make things interesting

tried my hand at a bfdi season 6
BFDI Redux
Tumblr media
basic premise is that leafy and firey find an island to call dream island, and think it would be fun to host their own season with it as the prize (real original i know)
most of the contestants are the failed tpot debuters to keep things fresh. the returning veterans are all ones i feel went underutilized or weren’t used to their full potential in whatever seasons they participated in
