Rough ten-minute sketch of Barrister, the Spider Prince of Khaum, and one of the Princes of the Infernal Mountains, a side character in my novel Ashen Shadows, and the main character of my prequel Green Smoke and Metal Mirrors

Pictured above : Skeur of the Fissures, also known as Barrister, the former leader of the Spire Barons, posing for his coronation photo, dressed in a sleeveless blue vest and ripped jeans- the better to put his prosthetics on display - his attire adorned with a pattern of branching golden lines, an homage to the Fissures that had given him birth.

Behind him flutters his rendition of the flag of Khaum, a unified Underground, brought together under his - literally - iron fist, the same emblem emblazoned over his heart

In one of his prosthetic hands is held the Jewel of Khaum, a sacred diamond mined from the walls of the chasm-city centuries ago, traditionally held in the possession of the Prince of Khaum in lieu of a crown or sceptre - the position Barrister has just taken

(Also, yeah, that weird patch near his left leg is because while his other leg had to be amputated from the thigh, that one got cut off from a few inches below the knee, leaving the prosthetic looking ragged and stitched on. He is also, if you’ll notice, blind in one eye

In addition, his grapple-hand, the one he’s using to clutch the Jewel of Khaum (which you might be able to see if you squint a bit) is only one of the settings of his prosthetic arms, others including - regular hands, energy blasters, red-hot sword blades, and tiger claws

Not pictured : Xeun, his childhood best friend and current second-in-command, an equally cybernetic, equally intimidating woman known only as the Razor Blade, current acting leader of the Spire Barons in the event of Skeur’s absence, due to his having to take on the mantle of leader of all Khaum)

awkward monday upload: my 4t2 conversion of @syboubou's little dino kids set... but almost completely redone, with a bunch of quality of life fixes! those include: no more annoying vignette crunchiness on the deco objects, no more t-posing plushies, and no more giant texture sizes!

major changes have been listed below the cut, but suffice to say that i've been dissatisfied with my conversion of this set for ages and was inspired to redo it when i saw an anon ask @freezerbunny-sims2 got some months ago. i'm considering this a redux and not an update, since the older set isn't specifically 'broken', just not up to my standards. you can't have both though, as they use the same guids!

Changelog

All textures (should) now be of a maximum 1024x1024 texture size.

No more weird vignette textures! All TXMTs have been updated.

The Big Plushy (and Small Big Plushy) now have their arms in non-T-pose positions. Sorry this took so long anon, I kinda forgot!

The toddler bed has now been updated and cloned from themediocresulk's Toddler Beds as Pet Beds (but for Toddlers).

Things to Note

'T-Rex the Rex, but Tinier' is repo'd to 'T-Rex the Rex'.

Diplo toy is not decorative, it can be played with like a regular toy from the toybox!

'Dresser' and 'Dresser Small' are a hallway table and endtable, with the smaller version being repo'd to the larger.

'Ivy Bed Decor' and 'Bed Blanket' must have moveobjects and snaptogrid off to be placed.

notes: this has been almost finished for like...a month, but apparently i had some things I needed to get out of my system before i could quite finish it!!

Like, a lot of detention. 

Two months of detention. 

His caseworker—and foster parents of the month, and the principal, and every teacher—had made sure to drive in the point that here at Our Spirit of the Painted Lady, absolutely no breaches of code would go overlooked, which means none of your tricks will work here, Wan, so for once just do as you’re told. 

Like always, unfortunately, he seems to have taken that as a challenge. 

His pencil clatters against the desk, earning him a glare from the teacher; he checks the big analog clock in the corner again.  

It’s only been ten minutes. 

Wan sighs audibly. If he just could’ve gotten in one last weed hit before this, the hour would be coasting by in a hazy blink. But of course, that wasn’t an option. His chance to find a new secret smoking spot hasn’t come yet, since this detention is exactly the reason he finds himself in need of a new one.

Arthur and Drifter, redux

The top image I'd originally planned to submit for Tennocon 2025, but then worried about the implied nudity. So I did the bottom image (NYE kiss)...TWICE because I forgot to record a timelapse or take WIP shots the first time through. I repainted and recorded it this morning, only for a unanimous jury of my partners thinking the one in graphite red is the better image. And reminded me that Warframe players are a horny lot anyway, so implied nudity isn't necessarily a problem.

So I submitted the first one. These are both done in watercolor on Fabrizio hot-pressed watercolor paper. Both are done in Derwent tinted graphite: top in Port, bottom in Graphite Grey. With a bit of actual pencil work on the bottom one to sharpen some details.

November: Grey Redux

Funny Face / Kay Thompson as Maggie Prescott

While her fashion magazine pushes pink as the latest fad, Maggie herself continues to dress in neutral colors. She ends the number in this pencil-skirted two-piece ensemble with white gloves and hat. The jacket has white lapel facings and a square "sailor" collar in back. There's a glimpse of a black belt, which matches her shoes.

I thought at first that the gold-and-silver star design at the neck was a brooch, but in the shot where she has hands on hips, another similar design is visible around waist level, and there also seems to be the edge of one just above the jacket's button point. This makes me suspect that the shirt is actually patterned.

Absolutely loving this blog. Do you fw the head cannon that Leafy would hate the taste / smell of yoyelberries after being forced to eat them for years?

Also your opinion on having any romantic relations in redux! since the og series doesn't have any romance at all.

Months/years in isolation destroyed Leafy.

She hated herself. She punished herself. She pushed everyone who tried to help away. She told herself that she deserved it.

Yoyleland had very little food sources. She turned to yoylebushes and their budding fruit: yoyleberries.

Fresh, ripe, unprocessed yoyleberries.

The cool smell of the leaves, like mint, while the fruit was balmy. The initial sweet flavor on the tongue, followed by sour the longer it sat in her mouth. The metallic aftertaste.

Sometimes, she can still smell and taste it. Nobody will bring it up and she can feel it on her tongue, in her nostrils.. she HATES it.

Now, in the romance department!!

I am not that much of a romantic myself,,, but I know a thing or two about writing it!! And I've confirmed romantic attractions for several characters.

I think it's a wonderful idea!! Part of the redux is presenting different dynamics and relationships. Healthy, unhealthy, or otherwise.

I think Match had feelings for Pencil around BFDIA-IDFB. It began to die down in BFB, especially after both of their eliminations. They suddenly had problems. (Six years of trauma) Doomed toxic one-sided yuri!

I also considered Needle and Pencil, which would also be toxic and probably doomed because of the way Pencil was with Needle in BFDIA and how she is with her whole team in IDFB. (inspired by this tiktok)

I toyed with Golf Ball and Tennis Ball but I find it didn't go anywhere, I didn't like it. I ended up giving the flirtiness between them in BFB to Lollipop. The old character proposal I made for them is getting a huge overhaul!

Lollipop flirts with every friend she makes but she is a lesbian!! If Teardrop stuck around after BFB ended, the two of them would've kissed. TD is demiromantic!!

Pen, Blocky, and Eraser as a polycule mayhaps? With Blocky splitting off following BFB post-split and maybe doing something with Woody. I like queer relationships I am queer

Price Tag and Book could be worth something. They're both in a good headspace for it in TPOT!

If the audience has any suggestions, I am all ears!! They do not have to be healthy. They can be toxic and doomed.

Fancy Bear Woman (Redux)

A redo of something I posted a while ago on DA, this time in an attempt to be more colorful, I only used colored pencil to make it! The Date in red is from me using my actual camera since my phone's camera kept making the colors look a little fuzzy.
