Hi Shasta! Thanks a bunch for this tutorial on "Changing blue glass to clear" Did you ever post Part 2 about how to edit a mesh with a glass TXTR? I love LordCrumps 4t2 windows but the glass is so dark
Hi! Here are some Quick How-Tos :) (sorry I'm no help with other image-editing software besides GIMP)
VERSION 1 Editing a Glass TXTR
In GIMP, ctrl-n to start a new file (size 64x64 px) You should have a tiny white square In the Layers-Brushes window/port, right-click your Background layer and select Add Alpha Channel Toolbar > Colors > Color to Alpha... You should have a tiny clear square In the new window, click OK and ctrl-shift-e to export as a png, name it glass or whatever you like
In SimPe, open your window or door and select the Texture Image (TXTR) in the Resource Tree and find the glass TXTR in the ResourceList. In Plugin View, right-click on the image to Build DXT... In the DDS Builder window, add your clear png in the open Image... Sharpen: None and Format: DXT5Format in Settings (if it isn't already) and click Build Click Commit and ctrl-s to save Load your game and see how you like it
VERSION 2 Editing a Too-Dark Glass TXTR I'm using platasp_GP07_ArchedAperture from the Strangerville Pack
In SimPe, select the Texture Image (TXTR) in the Resource Tree and the glass TXTR in the ResourceList (e.g. archedaperture-glass-base_txtr). In Plugin View, right click the texture and Export...
In GIMP, open the png (e.g. archedaperture-glass-base_txtr_256x256) Toolbar > Colors > Brightness-Contrast... In the new window, make sure Preview is ticked and then adjust the Brightness slider: somewhere in the 50-70 range looks pretty good in this case. Click OK Toolbar > Colors > Color to Alpha... In the new window, click OK The png should still have ~just a little~ shading ctrl-shift-e to export, I usually add a 2 to the file name (e.g. archedaperture-glass2-base_txtr_256x256)
Back in SimPe, right-click on the image to Build DXT... In the DDS Builder window, add the new png in the open Image... Sharpen: None in Settings, click Build Click Commit and ctrl-s to save. Load your game and see how you like it Good luck and happy simming! :)

Hello, everyone! Happy Pride!
GIF ID: waving pride flag (including white, pink, light blue, brown, black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple)
This post mostly pertains to the queer community; we felt it very important to make this post-- due to the particular intersection between plurality and queerness (consider us as an example).
In light of the first day of pride month, we wanted to share a list of resources for queer folks.
From positive affirmations to important information to crisis hotlines, we've tried our best to make the list extensive, yet as brief as possible.
We'd be happy to make this list larger, if folks want that; but we don't want to assume (feel free to request that in reblogs and/or asks).
Anyway, feel free to peruse. And, as we said before, Happy Pride!

Okay first of all, do not pull the patronizing tone with me, I am not a child. Second of all, the only part of this that was directed SPECIFICALLY at OP was the first half. The rest of it about fighting back was directed at the people in the notes who are agreeing with OP many of whom probably ARE in the US. And even then, in that second half, I literally did not talk about anything that was US-specific, the only thing that could even KIND OF be construed as that is the "minimizing damage" line but even that's kind of a stretch. The political and economic crisis is not ONLY a US-centric issue, and, fun fact, that's partly due to Trump essentially starting a fucking trade war on the whole world (I won't say it's the only or even main reason bc I am aware that it's more complex than that, but you cannot deny that Trump is a contributor. And not just that, but Trump certainly is NOT just a threat to people inside the US. Third, there definitely are not things going wrong ONLY in the US right now, and the shit happening in the US was absolutely NOT the only thing I was referring to, and even if that were the case, there are still things people outside the US can do to help, like donating to charities and relief group, or promoting support groups literally ANYTHING else besides starting fights on the internet over whose fault it was that Kamala lost. You act as though I said voting was the way to fight back which is NOT what I said. Voting helps but it is not the end-all-be-all and is only one step in making things better. Thirdly, do not act like I MUST have some perfect plan in order to be frustrated at the people who are upset that Trump won when they either did literally nothing to stop it or straight-up ACTIVELY chose to vote for him. Obviously voting blue isn't going to fix things, but it at least help set us on a better path, and, y'know, keep us from letting literal fucking fascists into office? Idk just a thought. There are plenty of fucking non-profits to donate to, there's people in Palestine who are DYING that people could donate to, there's support groups that people could promote, there's protests and boycotts and ALL SORTS OF THINGS that people could be participating in to try and guide the world to being a better place. But no, instead we're fighting with each other on the internet about shit that happened in the past that we can't change that literally does not matter. Here, in fact, I'll find some examples of things people could be doing to fight back or, just as importantly, helping the people currently being harmed by how shit is going currently

Climate Change Research and Progress Support

https://fcarchitects.org/
Biodiversity Crisis
https://www.worldlandtrust.org/?utm_source=pocket_collection_story
https://rewildingeurope.com/?utm_source=pocket_collection_story (this one had very mixed reception, but I didn't see anyone with solid proof that it was bad, it was mostly just a vibes thing, so if anyone has more info I'll take it)
Protests
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:2025_protests this is just a wiki page listing all current protests happening worldwide, do your own research on which ones of these are important to you
Boycotts
There's also a boycott being called for Nintendo and specifically the switch 2 due many factors, mainly the price of the console and more severely, the games themselves, but also things like there being a whole button on the console that is literally useless unless you're paying for a switch online subscription. Not to mention that they've decided to start pricing their games based on how much value THEY think it brings to consumers. Love it or hate it, video games and Nintendo are huge parts of our economical climate and these decisions will likely have major impacts of other aspects of the economy as well
Strikes
There are plenty of strikes happening, but I'm sure the one most people know about right now are the SAG-AFTRA strikes. And while I 100% agree with their cause for the strikes, I would advise you give SAG-AFTRA more scrutiny, as they have been pretty shady. They're a closed union, which isn't really all that great of news for the voice acting space, because it means that if any non-union voice actors are REQUIRED to join the union if they work a union job longer than a specified time limit. And this time limit is not reset between jobs, so if they can't join the union and run out of days to work a union job they can't work another union job. And this also means all union workers cannot work any non-union. I recommend doing your own research on this matter, but SAG-AFTRA is a lot shadier than people think and should not be trusted as readily as it is. And maybe put pressure on SAG-AFTRA to rethink the closed union thing.
And since you seem so pressed about me talking about all this on their post when they're Dutch, here, I even found some things going on in the Netherlands that people can be supporting to help people
(yes the ukraine thing is still happening btw I checked)
https://ukrainians.nl/
https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/empower-local-communities-to-restore-their-ecosystems/
But no yeah, keep telling me all about how "nothing will change." Sure nothing will change if we don't fucking work together to actually try and make change. Keep being patronizing and acting. I will not be interacting with this post any further after this except maybe to edit the resources I have listed bc I have said all I care to say.
Also, just a note, due to time constraints I was not able to do proper thorough research on how reliable all of these sources are. I did my best but I am sure there's things I missed so I HIGHLY recommend doing your own research before supporting any of these.
I think if the popular political party lost then it’s probably their own fault somewhat don’t you think
#the potato speaks#God people like you are insufferable#I stopped caring about this conversation a while ago but i'm posting anyway bc I wanna spread these resources

Thank you for answering people's questions in such detail! I really enjoy this blog and the work that you Mods put into it. Do you have any recommendations for other blogs/ websites similar to this one?
Thanks for the kind words. We put the time in because we really feel that this info needs to be out there. So many artists don’t get the career and business advice they need to be successful — even in art school! Our goal is to give artists the info they need to do all the self-promo and networking that’s critical to an art career as effectively as possible so they can get back to making more art!
That said, here’s the rest of the sites run by the same Secret Agent Art Directors of DearAD (some more secret than others):
Drawn + Drafted — the umbrella home page to all our educational projects
Make Your Art Work — our online classes
The ProjectCast — our podcast with successful artist entrepreneurs
The Newsletter — sign up and hear about everything
we’re also on Twitter and Facebook
and then there’s also awesome places for art education:
Muddy Colors blog
Illustration Age resource page
SmART School, Pencil Kings, and Oatley Academy for more online classes
Advice on getting your personal projects produced and published at Art Order
That should keep you busy awhile!

What is bisexual?
Bisexual or bi is used to describe someone who is physically, romantically, and/or emotionally attracted to people of more than one gender in a similar manner though not necessarily at the same time.
The bi in the word refers to being attracted to genders that are both same and different to their own, It does not necessarily mean attraction to men and women. For a long time the word was used in that way, but in 2019, Merriam-Webster made “they” the Word of the Year in 2019. This stemmed bisexual+ advocate Robyn Ochs with the collaboration of GLAAD to write a letter to the company and ask them to update the term bisexual to acknowledge that gender was no longer defined as a binary.
Bisexual or bi+ people still experience misunderstandings regarding their orientation. Others still judge them and say that what they’re feeling is a phase or that they have to choose a gender. There is always a need to improve how we treat our LGBTQIA+ members and it can start with being understanding and listening to one’s experiences and feelings.
Important dates of celebration and awareness:
Bisexual Awareness Week: September 16 - 22
Celebrate Bisexuality Day: September 23
Pride flag:
The bisexual pride flag was designed in 1998 by Michael Page with the purpose of giving the community a symbol similar to the rainbow pride flag and to increase visibility towards this sexual orientation. The three colors of the flag represent the following: pink for same-gender attraction, blue for attraction to the opposite gender or regarding non-binary people, towards a different gender, and purple for attraction to two or more genders.

5 Books for Ace Week
In honor of Ace Week — or an international campaign dedicated to raising awareness and expanding education of asexuality — I’ve put together a quick list of 5 books that are either already published or coming out soon for everyone to understand a bit more about what the umbrella of asexuality is.
Additionally, at this end of this blog, I’ve included some list of resources for anyone who may be questioning their own identity (as ace or otherwise).
Aces Wild by Amanda DeWitt
This is a really fun novel that features ace main characters and a fun plot set in Las Vegas and filled with gambling and a heist. The writing was fantastic and the plot twists were engaging. I highly enjoyed this book and I think almost everyone else will too!
more info below to make this post not too terribly long :)
Ace Voices: What it Means to Be Asexual, Aromantic, Demi or Grey-Ace by Eris Young
Publishing December 2022, each chapter in this book was engaging, well-written, informative, and presented to the reader in a way that made it easy to sink into this book and learn. I love how the author specifically called out non-western a-spec experiences and cultures instead of just focusing on the western ones. Suffice it to say, even if you aren’t ace or LGBTQIA+ identifying, this book is something I think everyone should read and can take important knowledge from. Please read this book.
Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex by Angela Chen
This is the quintessential book about asexuality that has been recommended time and time again. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I think it’s a good primer for people who may not be familiar with what asexuality actually is or isn’t.
I Am Ace: Advice on Living Your Best Asexual Life by Cody Daigle-Orians
Publishing January 2023, this book is perfect for anyone who wants to better understand what asexuality is or who is curious about whether or not they may be ace. The author of this book writes wonderfully about their experience and also provides guidance on topics such as the difference between orientation and attraction, as well as navigating things like coming out and relationships. A great read, and a wonderful book.
Ace Notes: Tips and Tricks on Existing in an Allo World by Michele Kirichanskaya
Publishing in March 2023, this book is an informative book that discusses a lot of what asexuality is, isn’t and presents information that is rooted in validation for all viewpoints, barring any that are acephobic. The quotes and information in this book are incredibly informative and insightful.
Resources:
https://acesandaros.org/ — a connection space for anyone who identifies as ace or aro
https://www.stonewall.org.uk/stonewall-x-yasmin-benoit-ace-project — UK based project lead by ace activist Yasmin Benoit
https://www.thetrevorproject.org/ — Mental health and support organization for LGBTQIA youth
https://www.glaad.org/resourcelist — A massive list of resources for various different areas including Military, Aging, and Legal.
I hope you enjoyed this post, if you read or have read any of the above books, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Also, if you have any other books or resources that I should add, please comment below!
