People who complain about people who draw/write Gywn with Az in sexual situations or with other characters because she was SA'd need to shut up. Ya'll dont hold that energy for Nesta, Rhys , Lucien or Feyre. People who have been SA'd can go on to have beautiful and fulfilling sex lives, especially with partners they trust and using Gwyns SA to diminsh the fact that she can be a sexual person (with Az or otherwise) is disrespectful imo.

haaate how my two favourite ships (surgamy + espilver) typically involve the less popular character losing their edge and acting really out of character (but in an in character way?) because when i go through periods of not drawing/writing/whatever much when it comes to surge or espio as standalone characters (or at least outside the context of shipping) i get scared im gonna forget who they are and that theyre actually so cool

NO this is not how they usually are, and let's call it what it is - a huge betrayal Bucky has done to Sam by not putting valentina's ass in jail asap, and worse staying on a team funded and created by her and calling themselves new avengers, basically undermining Sam and stomping over the avengers legacy Sam is trying to protect. This will be so funny when they act like nothing happened in doomsday. It will be the same thing as when Steve and Tony were fighting. Marvel doesn't give a fuck about your feelings and normal dynamics, you should know that. You and everybody here, are just a super small part of the sambucky fandom. I keep on seeing big sambucky tweets every day. As soon as they interact in doomsday, everything will be forgotten and forgiven except by the 8 of you, I suppose. The actors don't give a shit neither. And the character won't give a shit. It's a russo/marvel movie at the end of the day.

Like let's leave aside marvel and the actors for a min, huge part of the reason why we even have to make posts like this is the fandom. I come into the sambucky or the sam wilson tag everyday and see the worst takes known to man about sam, constantly minimizing him and his feelings, sidelining him, being racist abt him while claiming not to be racist abt him, only caring abt him in regards to what he can do for the white characters and I mean the list just goes on.

A character doesnt have to be your fave for you to understand and respect them and not treat them like an afterthought. And especially so if you say you ship them and then proceed to make them into someone unrecognizable.

And marvel deciding to retcon this bs or completely nvr mention this again is never going to erase the way so many ppl were foaming at the mouth ready to hate and think the worst of sam. And it STILL wont erase the fact that marvel could have showcased and respected sam in better ways, like at least mention him in a respectful way in all the movies leading up to and after cabnw.

So yea i care about sam enough to want to point out the abhorrent way he's treated by a large portion of the sambucky fandom and marvel. So if you dont care abt sam, then here's a very radical suggestion for you: gtfo of the sam wilson tag 🙄

basically this au is seliel gets dragged intro the royal familys business by cole and gets a cute little crush on harumi while harumi wants to kill him❤

after way of the departed cole and seliel interact much more, they play games together online, send themselves postcards, message themselves on their phones and just talk a lot more but its long distance because nom is literally on the other side of ninjago in the middle of nowhere. well when season8 comes around the ninja are recruited to watch over and protect the oni mask that resides in the palace... but everyone immidiatelly notices that lloyd gets a crush on harumi. everyone giggles about it a little but they soon realize that it might be an issue later on. cole back in the first few seasons and pilots used to be the leader of the group (you can see it very well in order comics and books) and he realizes that this might be an obsticle because of how much they already have to do; keeping the mask of the oni safe, looking for the other one, figuring out why someone would need them and what they would use them for, and also looking for master wu... but the royal family still needs protection, and they won't take in a some rando. so cole suggests seliel. everyone (excluding lloyd who has no idea who seliel is) is like well considering our situation she's the best choice... though some are sceptical because the last time all of them interacted was years ago during rebooted and he was a dick to them lowkey😭 lloyd also agrees because he's too embaressed to admit he has a crush on the princess.

cole hypes phantom the fuck up to the royal family. he tells them that they need more personal protection while the ninja are there in general and because they themselves are mostly focused on the oni mask shenanigans. they relucantly agree and cole calls phantom.

he very relucantly agrees BUT has very specific and strict rules that he would work under:

1. most important - COMPLETE ANONIMITY. no one in nom knows that seliel is the phantom and he doesnt want anyone else other then his dad and the ninja knowing. he takes this very seriously; the floor his room will be on has to be completely cut off from the rest of the palace, no one can enter it for the sake of his privacy.

2. an extenstion of the first rule - they have to make him a new suit (he was just being a bit bossy and thought yk might as well make them make me a new gi if they need me that bad they will do it.) and they do! tbh this was lwk just an excuse for me to design my own phantom suit LMAO

3. working only at night. phantom is a night creature that sleeps during the day

4. oh yeah he has to have his own place there in the palace with somewhere to train and stuff. cole didn't tell the royal family where phantom is from, just that's he's a "great warrior from far away"

so sandor finds and kidnaps this boykings missing sister so *he* can return her safe and sound. so he can prove the assumptions wrong about him, that hes not just a monster. that he can be trustworthy, respectable. that robb needs him, he Has too. hes the only option sandor has.

robb, as king in the north, has power and authority. he has the power to give sandor a fresh start, a new home. to forgive his sins. to give him a new purpose. maybe to even respect him as more than a near rabid dog.

and robb, who has gone through so many betrayals recently, having someone that he KNOWS he can trust… and i know. youre squinting at me saying robb could trust sandor but LISTEN. robb has been working off the assumption pretty much since ned died that arya is also dead. then sandor comes in and drops arya at his feet, more-or-less safe and sound. he brought her back from the dead, gave his mother one of her daughters back. then sandors offering to commit the worst sin possible, For Robb, to deal a massive blow to the lannisters, not to win himself any victory or glory, but just to prove that robb could trust him.

robb knows that sandor doesnt have anywhere else to go. he wouldnt be here if he did. he knows hes sandors last hope. if robb rejects him he might as well pack it up and jump on a boat to join a sellsword company. hes done. robb holds sandors future in his hands. theres a certain security there, along with sandors desperate attempts to prove himself, that he wont be betrayed again. that maybe robb Can trust sandor.

and i also just think robb does Want to see the best in people, to believe in them. so he does give sandor a chance

Your blog feels like somewhat of a safe haven because you seem like a very reasonable person, which is why I feel safe saying this here only. Some of the responses to L*udna calling Im*gen sister make me very uncomfortable. People literally saying that m*risha is wrong about her character or that it doesn't mean anything, or that laudna doesnt know how she feels. It reminds me of my least favorite aspect of the Fandom, where people will decide how they think the characters feel or think about something or how they would act in a given circumstance, and then in their minds it becomes Canon and they get frustrated when the actors (who in dnd are the storytellers) don't act upon their Canon. This is different than just being disappointed that a ship you like didn't become Cano, IMO. I really like Imogen but I LOVE laudna, and I feel like a lot of the times she is reduced to just be Imogen's other half, and now that people denying what marisha says her character thinks, saying she's wrong, being mad at the choice, it makes it hard to interact with the fandom on this site because I feel like I can't talk about Laudna or Imogen without it circling back to their relationship. My favorite pairings in C1 were Vex and Percy and Vex and Keyleth and I feel like I didn't have this problem as much with them but also I wasn't as deep on the internet or in fandom back then. :(

I don’t have a ton to add or say about this, honestly; the post I reblogged about it said it better than I could. This has always been what put me off the ship as it exists in the fandom: I’m not opposed to Imogen and Laudna becoming a couple, but the fanon is deeply boring while also being all consuming and crystalized before the end of the first episode. It’s frustrating, as someone who enjoys both Imogen and Laudna, to try to talk about them without getting obnoxious responses to anything that even hints there might be misunderstandings or conflict between them. It lessens their characters and the work both Marisha and Laura have put in. It makes it impossible to explore their flaws, and it makes everything about them uncompelling, when they are both very interesting characters. I’ve found Laudna especially to be coming into her own in this Team Issylra arc.

The fact is, Laudna said what she said. It doesn’t mean a romance is impossible, but I think it’s genuinely indicative of how Laudna feels at this time. Which to be honest matches how I’ve felt regarding Laudna’s feelings about Imogen from early on! I think Imogen is romantically interested in Laudna, but I think Laudna has always seen Imogen in a more familial way, and I don't know if it's fair to her to try to explain that as just Laudna's insecurities. I also think it's possible Imogen has exacerbated those insecurities - if I were Laudna, I’d be feeling a certain way about Imogen’s exploration of the validity of the Vanguard, and I might even still be feeling the unresolved pull of the gnarlrock fight.

I can’t speak to Campaign 1 ships specifically since I watched that campaign after it had already finished, but at the very least Imodna has felt notably different to me in that usually people talk about at least one of the parties of a popular ship as an individual, even if they reduce the other to nothing. Here it feels like they both get folded into ship fodder. I’ve also seen a really strong trend of people tagging fanart of one of the characters alone, without the other, with the ship name, and that feels new compared to past campaigns and popular ships though the obvious cynical answer is just that the ship is more popular than the characters on their own and so artists are just trying to get eyes on their work in the most effective way. And as I’ve said a few times, the fact that Laudna’s death was more than once referred to as throwing the ship away has stuck with me as an illustrative moment. I think the fandom response to this ship is different than some past ones, and not in a good way.

With that said, I am trying, despite myself, to practice good faith here. I’ll admit that I’ve had enough bad faith interactions with fans of the ship such that it’s no longer an option when I get reblogs on my posts or anons in my inbox. But in terms of what might transpire in the hypothetical situation where Imogen and Laudna end the campaign without becoming romantically involved, I would like to give those who ship it the chance to respond with grace rather than assuming they will not.

In Dustin’s universe, he’s really good friends with Will and El, he knows Mike through Eddie, and seeing his good friend as another Spider-Man is endearing to him so he visits Mike in his universe a lot to get away from most things-

However in his universe he and El are good friends but never get the chance to talk considering she is still with Mike, at first- he was never interested in relationships after everything that happened with Suzie, it was too hard to bare at the time. He was out of it for the most part- he drifted away from Mike, El, Will and all of his friends. However when he went into the Spiderverse with Mike and met this El- they sort of began to bond. Mike and Will had their own problems trying to avoid each other, but realized that avoiding the problem won’t fix anything, they try to make amends as best they can together. With Lucas and Max trying to fix things as well they are sort of stuck in the middle and decided to support each other, Dustin began to open up to El because she was the only one who was there to listen and genuinely understand. She told him what she went through too, they finally found someone on equal footing with each other.

It began to shift into a more complex friendship, he would visit her universe just to talk, and she would do the same.

They both agreed to keep their relationship strictly as friends, until Dustin would be up at night thinking about her, his feelings became mixed and it troubled him, he confronted El saying how scared he was to loose her as well.

He could never imagine the world without her in it and it scared him. “The world needs Spider woman. But what happens when I need her more?”

She felt his anguish, but from what they’ve seen from Will and Mike, trying to avoid anything and each other doesn’t solve anything, it hurts more to stop.

“Then why stop?”

She told him that Spider man or no, they are people too, sure they aren’t normal but who cares? They have each others backs and understand each other more than anyone else in the world. Maybe that’s worth more than something?

Yes they do get together! And they stay together! They have minor bumps in the road in their relationship but they communicate and pull through it together, they understand everyone around them more than they know, what they see around them makes their relationship stronger, and they teach each other a lot of things, El’s relationship with Hopper gets stronger because Dustin tells her to keep the people she loves the most close to her. And in return, she tells him to open up to his close ones, allowing him to build up the courage to talk to Steve.

They are just such a cute ship and I think they would be the most healthy relationship but that’s my opinion lolll

Also they would do the iconic upside down Spiderman kiss except Dustin would jump back onto the ground so they can do the kiss <3

And they hold hands the most out of everyone, the first time they talked they held hands as sort of support and understanding of each other, it became their connection to hold each other tight and never let go. :)

(amity stayed in the demon realm and the hexsquad is getting attacked by a spy in the forest)

its a breezy afternoon in the boiling isles,. until a blue star spy starts chasing after the hexsquad (except amity)

"what is this thing?!" hunter yelled. "what makes you think i know!" gus responded, luz is using glyphs to defend everyone. luz ran out of glyphs until an abomination wall covered everyone.

someone ran in front of them, they had a hood, everyone looked confused, they couldn't see their face and they js all stood there in awe. luz felt like she knew this person, these fighting movements felt similar, too similar. everyone's minds went blank as they saw this random person with a black oversized hoodie on. after the collectors spy was taken down, the mysterious figure took down their hoodie.

as they pulled it down, light purple hair with roots growing out revealed. it was a girl. she hadn't realized the people behind her as she realized they might've been tourists. she was still catching her breath and moved her hair out her face, revealing a scar, one on each ear. she fixed her hair and put her hands in her pockets as she finally turned around. more shock and relief washed over the teen's faces as they realized it was the one and only, amity fucking blight. as she turned around she realized the 5 people behind her. shock overtook her face.

"amity?" luz whispered. camilla then realized who this girl really was to everyone, her daughter mentioned a girlfriend that stayed back in the demon realm. "luz?" luzs face was overcome with a smile as they started running towards eachother as amity jumped in her arms and was being twirled around, like they used to. "wha- w-why- how!?" amity said, her brain lagging as she couldn't believe these people were here. once luz got a closer look she realized her girlfriend who once had a babyface and a light blush on her cheeks, now had eyebags and a scar trailing down above the middle of her jawline, near her lips.

"its a long story, oh my gosh i thought something horrible happened to you." luz said, bringing amity into another embrace. well, clearly sam and kat like her enough, and colby tolerates her enough, that she most likely will be in another video. i'll be extremely surprised if she's not in at least one video this coming year. realistically she is still their friend, and that is enough to have someone on their channel. on top of that she's still close enough to kat that most likely if snc do their whole "we gotta go somewhere and we're taking kat too", stas will come along just for the ride and so kat isn't lonely, since that was the whole reason she started being with them in the first place. not to mention, a lot of fans still see them as the core four so to completely exile her like that, i just don't see snc and kat doing.

the thing with colby is that he doesn't like to rock the boat, even if it would benefit him. that's why he tries his best to stay out of drama. that's why he allows friends to use him and treat him like shit until he can't no longer. it would be too much to ask for respect in his mind, and i don't understand why he's like that, but that's just what he's like. clearly stas did something at some point after the europe trip to piss him off just enough for him to be done with her, even if for a small while. that reverberated thru kat and sam too. and then once the waters were calm, she was allowed back in. and while she's kept her distance for the most part, she's still in the group, even if just slightly.

and like you noted, her getting closer and closer to his other friends means she ain't leaving either. but i do think he was able to kind of…. put her in her place, or at least let the general friend group know "hey, i get we're all on good terms again, but that doesn't mean i have to hang out with her just bc yall are" with her and his bday.

granted there was other stuff going on (assumingly) so it's hard to say it was just her that made him do what he did. i also don't personally believe that was his sole reason for not being there.

You weren’t any different than them, the only main difference was Law. Must to the dismay of the rest of the crew, the enemy had agreed, also knowing Law saw something different in you, meaning you were worth more in value than the former hostages. 

You knew Law would be pissed once he found out what had happened, but now wasn’t the time to think on that, hell, you didn’t even know if you would see the brunet again. Watching the others get pushed out, you were left alone as they scurried off, trying to find a way to help you. 

It had been over a month since that day, the crew was told by the natives of Zou to stay low, that there was a chance you had died since Law was away. When he had came to Zou, the crew greeted him with hugs and tears, happy to see their beloved captain again. However, it got quiet when he had asked for your name. After a long hesitance, it was Penguin who had spoke up, explaining the situation and how another crew learned the whereabouts of the Heart Pirates. 

It didn’t take long for Law to be able to pinpoint who the crew was, quick to get them on a transponder snail, annoyance laced in his voice as he talked with them. They had stated you were alive, though they didn’t expect you to last long from the neglect inflicted on you. Once done, he had spoken with the Straw Hat Crew, letting them know the change of plans, while his crew was nervous of the rejection, their captain took it as a challenge, wanting to fight whoever this other crew was. 

Whether the crew expected money or Law’s head, they didn’t get what they were after. Law had appeared to make a deal with the captain, but it quickly turned into an ambush fight between the three crews. Not wanting to waste anymore time, he was able to find you below the ship’s deck, locked up in the dark abyss below. Quick to remove any constraints, he kept your weakened body in his arms as you and the rest left the now crumbling ship.

Hugging the man who was carrying your body back to the sub, you smiled tiredly up at his own worried gaze. “I knew you’d come, I’m happy you’re back captain.”

Why I hate canon Kailor sm

Im not gonna tag Kailor on this for obvious reasons plus this is kinda a long post, I don’t mind fanon Kailor mostly because tbh I don’t think it’s really a big thing and most I have seen of it is fine. Don’t read this if you like Kailor and don’t want to hear it bashed

Okay listen, s4 is my favorite season out of all ninjago, but if theres one thing I hate about it the most is Kailor. This ship has always been really annoying to me throughout the show, and I’ve hinted towards that in my blog. But why?

1. It’s basically jaya redone

Kailor brings nothing new or interesting to the table because honestly? It’s literally just the same dynamic as jaya. Socially awkward guy simps for usually unimpressed girl until she eventually caves in and they start dating.

Not only has this already been done before with jaya, but is also completely out of character for Kai to do.

While I admit seeing Kai as a flustered dork is kinda funny, once you realize the context of the situation that they’re in it’s pretty clear that Kai would never actually do this.

Reminder: Kai JUST found out his dead friend is alive and is forced to recognsizle with friends in order to get him back

Usually when Kai is presented in a situation like this, what he normally does is set himself dead first on the task at hand and usually ignores any distractions. He’s mostly distance and seemingly uncaring

((note this is after Zane died and Kai ran away from the ninja because of cole and jays bickering, knowing him he wouldn’t be the most excited to be back. His arc should have revolved around coming to terms with lost friendships due to death or distance but that never happens)).

What Kai DOESNT do is immediately fall head over heels for a girl he JUST meet to the point where even when he sees his DEAD FRIEND ALIVE AND WELL he completely ignores that for a girl he meet less then a week ago

This is something JAY would do, not KAI, Kai is a loyal friend who do anything to save his friends, he cherishes them and would fight god to help them with anything they need, he doesn’t forget them for someone new

It also does skylor unjustice as well, but we’ll get there when we get there

2. It adds nothing to the characters and is otherwise never mention again

You know how bad you fuck up a relationship if the best aspect of it is how it’s rarely on screen

Even considering the fact Kailor is just jayas dynamic, the connection between skylor and Kai feels completely non existent or one sided

Most of Kailor revolves around Kai simping for skylor

They have no common interests, common goals, they rarely actually talk outside of lloyds plan to overthrow chen

The whole relationship feels forced every time it’s brought up because of how disconnected they both are to eachother, Kai only likes skylor because she’s hot and that’s it, nothing else about her is actually interesting to Kai in anyway ((again sort out of character for him in this situation))

Skylor and Kai don’t form any genuine bond with eachother, it feels hallow and empty

Let’s compare this to lava, wait no that would be to easy, let’s compare this to pixane

Pixal and Zane both genuinely like and respect eachother, they both share bonds outside of being robots, they both care about eachother enough to know when they’re uncomfortable or need help

Kailor is barely mentioned past s4 and most of it in s4 is Kai being a creep

Oh yeah let’s get to that

3. It’s really really creepy

Im sorry I don’t find incest jokes funny ninjago, it’s just really uncomfortable and creepy

Hopefully this goes without saying but Kai thinking skylor is hot, figuring out they might be related and no longer finding her hot, and then finding out they aren’t and thinking she’s hot is really weird and creepy

Not to mention scenes like, Kai looking into her room without her knowledge or consent

Or Kai fighting people for her when it’s not necessary

Or him trying to impress her everytime he sees her

This isn’t cute or funny, it’s gross, privacy invading, and overall just very creepy and uncomfortable and most definitely not healthy

Again, this is REALLY out of character for Kai, Kai knows when to back off and respect people’s privacy

Literally the season before this he didn’t get involved in the love triangle probably because he knew that would make Nya’s situation worse

So for him to suddenly become this privacy evading perv is so grossly out of character for him and makes the whole relationship feel off and unhealthy

And finally

4. The whole thing is misogynistic

During this entire thing skylor doesn’t get a choice in the show once, she follows the commands of her dad before Kai tells her not to like her dad and follows his lead.

She doesn’t come to disliking her dad by her own thought, she was told to by Kai

She doesn’t get to do anything that SHE actually wants to do until LITERALLY the VERY END

She’s told by guys around her what she should do constantly, even without her being a love interest that’s just screams misogynistic to me ((Afab speaking anyways))

Everything about her character, down to the way she talks, who she’s allied with, and even sometimes how she looks is determined by male characters

Conclusion

If canon ships were shrek movies then kailor is easily shrek the third, a constant tired unfunny mess that caused everyone to think that these ships were shit ((to be fair Jaya is kinda bad to but at least it tired to get better))

There’s nothing redeeming about it to me, every time it’s viewed in a romantic setting it makes me groan or upset

What’s even more frustrating is how people constantly say lava can’t be canon because of it

Im going to go on a side tangent so you can just skip this part as it doesn’t add any actual substance to my argument

But it’s so frustrating to see people say that

Cole and Kai have had a much healthier relationship and would be a lot better for there characters

But no, this stupid misogynistic creepy ship where one side isn’t even consententing to it half the time is the one that has to stay canon because “it’s what the creators intended”

Lava isn’t the superior possibly canon relationship because it’s gay, it’s superior because it’s closer to a healthy working relationship in show then kailor has been ((fanon lava and kailor doesn’t count here because they’re isn’t any better fanon ship, Im just talking about in show))

But no it can’t be canon and it’s unfair for people to want it to be canon because tommy created this rlly shitty straight relationship for Kai instead

there’s also the bender/nonbender dynamic at work there...i have a hc of jeong jeong as something of a prodigy so he’s kind of reliant on his bending (which means that the resentment after he stops bending is worse) while piandao on the other hand bc he isn’t a bender but has turned the sword into an art and thinks a lot abt bending in relation to defending against it. and the concept of them exchanging ideas and sparring together is just incredible (this post sums up my feelings on the topic)

whether or not they actually dated before whatever it was that made jj disappear into the woods...well if they did there is Major Angst Potential (eyes emoji re: burns, jj hating his own firebending bc maybe...he hurt piandao....after he deserts he breaks up w piandao bc he doesnt wanna drag him down with him...more eyes emoji ok i’ll stop). but either way i like to think that piandao was the one that found jj wherever he fucked off to after the deserter - iroh is powerful but hes only one man, there’s no way he knew where every single member of the white lotus was. 

and then cue...the reconnecting...piandao being, yet again, The Friend that helps hermit!jj sorta reconnect with society. and i’m not sure if jj would ever really come to terms with his bending esp if we take the first hc of him having hurt piandao into acct but. perhaps the bender/nonbender dynamic makes a reappearance bc piandao is perfectly fine without bending and jj was always impressed w him and MAYBE he teaches him more stuff about working w swords - almost like zuko with the dao bc his bending was weak. and oh fuck oh shit maybe jj is falling in love w him (AGAIN OOPS)

and then they go and live together in piandao’s estate while jj is waiting for his pardon bc obviously zuko wld pardon him and are soft and happy bc it’s what they DESERVE

there’s also the thing where they’re basically just older zukka...i initially did not vibe with this but the more i think about it the more true it is...jeong jeong and zuko with the shared fire trauma and Dramatic Theatre Gay energy vs sokka and piandao with Sword Gay energy
