I love love love when trans women* give advice to trans men* about """manly""" things and when trans men* return that kindness with advice about """womanly""" things. I love the intracommunity commitment to supporting each other <<3

If you have only watched the Ouran High School Host Club anime I really cannot recommend reading the manga enough. There is (at least) twice as much plot as the anime has and it delivers so much more character and relationship development for every club member. You deserve to see more of them!

I have nothing to say but I want to write.
I guess it’s a little too quiet and I can’t sleep. I wish someone was up and wanted to talk to me.
Not just anyone though, sadly but greatly I’m picky. Many will talk to me, but none I want with me.
I guess it’s a little too quiet and it’ll be like that for awhile. I wish someone wanted me and not just to reconcile.
Although with you I wouldn’t mind. To talk about anything and everything if it meant I could have you for awhile.
I guess it’s a little too quiet and I have no where to be. I wish someone wanted to be with me.
In the future, to have and to hold. No ring or papers are necessary, true love begins and ends in the soul.
I guess it’s a little too quiet and sometimes I don’t want to be alone. I wish someone would choose me, no matter where I grow.
Seems a little desperate, I know. It’s not desperation if I’m willing to be alone. Risking my heart is not a risk I will take, but with you the choice is evident no matter the stake.
I guess it’s a little too quiet and I’m in my head. I’ve made it comfortable here but still wish you were here instead.
It’s a little too quiet and I should sleep. What would put me to rest? I don’t know, what do you think?

Okay, there has been a quote from a blog post going around about the increase of visual description and decline in interiority in novels and prose more widely, which I do agree with, and I think the advice in the full post beyond the link and quoted section are sound and currently relevant. As a prose writer who took a long detour into screenwriting and is a spatial thinker, I do find myself getting caught up in the idea of conveying what's happening on a screen and needing to return to the affordances of the medium, even several years on from writing scripts, and knowing that scripts themselves often have very scant description.
However, I think many of the comments that I've seen going around on that post overcorrect into an idea that any description in prose should be eliminated, especially as they seem to ignore how setting, and conveying a sense of place, plays a role genre to genre. Many novels do not need much description, if they are not looking to create an atmosphere grounded in place, but other stories, and certain genres in particular, rely upon the grounding involved in describing the setting. In Science Fiction and the Mass Cultural Genre System, John Rieder notes that in its full-fledged form, when it began to be used as its own genre, sci-fi leaned substantially upon an "[a]ttunement to such a distinctive handling of the setting" to impart the norms of the world and conceit that satisfied the higher level of audience buy-in that was necessary for the story to function. I would argue that something of this ilk has long been a hallmark of genres in the more speculative realm, fantasy of course being another major one, but also those grounded in reality but in some way distanced, like historical fiction. To point to a few generic hallmarks, Hugo might've been getting paid by the word, but many of the descriptions of Paris and its systems are to an extent important to achieve audience investment in the plight of the poor of the city, and Tolkien's establishment of the feel of Middle Earth is crucial to creating in the reader an echo of the love the members of the Fellowship feel for their homes that drives them on their journeys.
I do think authors should generally be more willing to explore character interiority and not simply write out a blow-by-blow recount of the action that might be taking place on screen, but given how prone writing circles are to taking writing advice as all or nothing, I think it would be a mistake to run with the idea that interiority is the only way a prose format should or can convey the information needed to tell a story, and I'd encourage writers not to apply it unthinkingly or unilaterally to their own work.

The whole Saavik-kidnaps-a-baby scene was so so good. This moment popped out to me, I just love the mental image of them exasperatedly looking at one another…

Hear My Cry, O God
To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David.
1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. — Psalm 61:1-2 | Authorized King James Version (AKJV) The Holy Bible: Authorized King James Version; Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s patentee in the UK. All rights reserved. Cross References: Exodus 33:21; Psalm 17:1; Psalm 18:2; Psalm 27:7; Psalm 42:6; Psalm 55:1; Psalm 64:1; Psalm 77:3; Psalm 86:6; Psalm 94:22; Psalm 102:1

Notes: In Psalm 61:1-2, David, feeling overwhelmed and distant from God, cries out for help, asking God to "lead me to the rock that is higher than I," symbolizing a plea for refuge and strength in God's protection.

THE SPARK!! Okay so this is totally random but I just had a thought and ugh, I have feelings about the spark thing. So canon dropped the ball and didn’t let us have Spark Stiles. So he goes through everything as the pack human but what if his spark needs his mate and their mate bond to be complete for it to come to life?? Like we always say sparks are the most powerful magic users so what if stiles needs his mate/mate bond to be an anchor for his magic to be able to work?
I know it would have never been a thing in the show but the idea of it feels kind of fun to me.
Mmh to be honest not much a fan of it being tied to the matebond because that ties his magic too much to romance and as much as I am a romance writer first, I don't like when romance is overvalued over other bonds. That's why I like to tie his Spark to his pack; first time he used his magic, in canon, was to help and protect his pack, literally the episode right after he joined the Hale Pack. It's right there. I am grabbing it and running with it. *shrugs*

Just booked my ticket for the Hunger Games prequel tomorrow. The fact that we’re in the middle of a Hunger Games renaissance is mind-blowing to my childhood self. I’ve yet to miss a midnight premiere for the entire series and although they’re not a thing anymore, I still plan on viewing the earliest fucking showing tomorrow. This series helped me so much as a kid. I'm sure if someone looked they’d notice that there are small breadcrumbs of the series all throughout my little blog. It’s still incredibly personal to me. So much of my life mirrors Katniss’. How fucking special it was to have someone go through so much trauma at the same age as me and still try and maintain her humanity and strength throughout. I named my dog Primrose, as a reminder to keep going, and on days when I can’t give myself any care, I pour it all into her. I feel excited about something for the first time all year. I feel like a kid again. I feel stupid and slightly embarrassed but I'm so fucking glad Suzanne decided to expand this world and enrich its characters once more.

It’s 2025, near the beginning of June,
I’m sitting, thinking, of every attempt at love,
Of everything I had been through,
So I could end up here, with you.
Call it what you want, fate or the butterfly effect,
This was indeed a very long journey,
As it started way before the year 2020.
Of course, I'm a little scared but that's not entirely me.
If you say you have no fear, who are you actually fighting?
The ego has no bounds, if you let it continue to seek.
It will make you feel your past, push you to be a refugee.
"You've felt this before, this is not safe"
"run away, run away."
"You've learned this before, you should already know"
"walk away, walk away"
Nothing you see here is true.
You spent years falling apart, gaining trust issues.
You spent years building walls, keeping your guard up.
Just remember these were formed solely for construct.
Safety, while constructing the new you.
and after you've grown and stepped into something new,
the walls seem to feel like glue.
They do you no good, so you tear them down,
but they already caused destruction around.
You move on, continuing through life.
Understanding you're no longer in fight or flight.
There's no need for the walls, because you keep yourself safe.
You know now your love partly depends on faith.
They walk into your life and you have no walls.
You keep your heart open, staying vulnerable.
"Take me as I am", you've never felt so strong.
Yet little things prick and suddenly your ego knows all.
My walls are broke and my love more than true
Now it's time to address the ego issue.
Call it your nervous system, the alarm that goes off.
But that system is outdated and no longer does the job.
Without silence and quiet observation,
Self-sabotage will send you to an unwanted destination.
Don't let it be your ruler, trust me, I know.
An untamed ego will seem to be the killer of Love.
But if it can be ruined, murdered, or covered in blood
Was it really true Love at all
Or was it meant to show you who it never was?
For true love cannot be destroyed by such low frequency factors.
It just feels right regardless of the matter.
No ego or trauma can scare true love away,
it's rather welcomed, acknowledged, while its untamed.
And no, don't get me wrong,
this doesn't justify always coming off strong
for you are accountable for you own flaws
but will true love judge them? Not one bit at all.
It'll look at them with kindness and offer patience
It comes with a sense of gratitude and emotional irrigation.
You're able to feel freely, within yourself and amongst them.
Simultaneously being responsible with your stream of conscience
Being accepted, heard, and seen
does not mean you get to act on emotions irresponsibly.
Keep in mind, you always come first.
You need extra help? support? a case to be reasured?
True love is there, no matter the works.
Sometimes its laughter other times its silence,
the best true love, in my opinion, is the one that hurts.
It's the one that cares so deeply about you
that it shines a light on all your negative attributes.
It uncovers things you didn't know still existed,
but nurtures them into fruition.
If love doesn't hurt, do you think that its true at all?
Or is it just a simple facade,
that keeps your ego thinking, it knows it all.
This love, I will continue to choose everyday.
Not once, has my mind or heart thought to stray.
It’s a love that’s hard to explain,
But I can say one thing,
It’s here with every intention to stay.

The Shield of Light
When shadows creep, and spirits fray,
And fear begins to steal the day,
Remember, child, you're not alone,
A mighty seed of Light is sown.
For deep within, a beacon glows,
A knowing peace that gently flows.
And from above, a tender hand,
Extends across this weary land.
Divine, benevolent, pure, and vast,
Their loving shield forever cast.
Around each soul, each fragile heart,
They play a sacred, guarding part.
No lower vibration, dark and deep,
Can break the vows the angels keep.
No evil whisper, cold and sly,
Can pierce the grace that lights the sky.
From every doubt, from every plight,
We're cradled in celestial light.
Protected, cherished, safe and sound,
On hallowed, consecrated ground.
Let earthly static fade and cease,
And rise to realms of calm and peace.
Let every fear dissolve to dust,
Replaced by pure, unwavering trust.
The frequency of man now shifts,
Through conscious choice, and grace's gifts.
Our hearts expand, our spirits soar,
To peace and love, and so much more.
Unburdened, light, we lift our gaze,
Through sunlit paths, through healing haze.
Uplifted, calm, with spirits bright,
Bathed in the Universal Light.
So breathe it in, this truth profound,
Wherever peace can now be found.
For we are loved, eternally,
Protected, safe, and truly free.
