Love the idea of Tim being the only one who can actually lie to Bruce, but have you considered Bruce who always knows Tim is lying and just… can’t get himself to do anything about it?
Hear me out, arguably these two are the most similar if you ignore certain concepts like being an orphan and (in most universes) seeing death at a young age. They are both raised in rich wealth in a big, lonely house (yes even with Alfred there he was still a teenage boy with no siblings or parents), both have critical thinking minds and insatiable curiosity and have reputations for being players and are both CEO’s and owners of massive companies.
So when Tim lies to Bruce, two things happen.
One, he can’t help but feel like a hypocrite because how many times did he lie to Alfred? Or even Dick and Clark? He’s still doing it! Bruce is a secret keeper and when you have someone who’s just as good at you at lying, in some ways better, it’s hard to feel confident in calling them out.
Two, he wants Tim to be more than him, to not be so bitter and lonely as he was because Tim had actual friends and half of his lies are for his friends or to spent time with them (even if that’s in the middle of a fight). When he sees Tim stare at him unflinching while he lies about stealing a bio weapon, all he sees is his little boy trying to cover that he was hanging out with his friends doing something naughty.
Bruce sees a cat giving him wide eyes and a little purr with claws still digging into his wrist and folds like a napkin.
He badly wants his son to be honest with him about things, but since he figures it out so quickly, he can convince himself Tim is telling him just in a… overly complicated and deceptive way!
When the others notice it drives them insane.
Then there’s the third reason, the one he can’t admit to himself, which is how guilty he feels for making Tim talk him out of suicide and murder at just thirteen years old.
The part of him that knows that Tim has still spent more time being a parent for Bruce than Bruce has for Tim.
The part of him that knows he’s failed all his kids, but he used Tim.

A fluffy + angst one shot of Tim and Damian, no trigger warnings, hope you enjoy!
"Geraniums"
Tim could think for hours, but he would never come up with an answer to why Damian suddenly tried getting along with him.
He supposed only Damian knew the answer to that.
But still, even if it was odd, Tim figured the kid had decided that he didn't want to fight anymore, so neither did Tim.
So there they sat, at a family outing in a park, Tim sat with his legs criss crossed in the grass as he watched Dick and Jason play fight, tumbling around in the grass, which was gold entertainment if you started bets on who would win (It was always Dick, but nevertheless).
The girls stayed out of the grass, Steph talking Cass's ear off as they swung together, Cass never minded, just smiling and nodding, adding in her own whispery words every now and again.
Duke watched the fight, but glanced between siblings every few minutes, seemingly checking on them, Tim thinks he was a great addition to the family.
And over on a bench, together sat Bruce and Alfred, making small talk as they watched over everyone, most likely making sure they didn't burn the park down.
Damian however, sat in the grass at Tim's side, something the teen took pride in.
Take that Dick.
He had thought to himself, he didn't really have anything against Dick, though the man had been the reason Tim hadn't got coffee today, so if Tim was stealing the youngest one's attention away from Dick, well who's to really say.
But suddenly Damian stands, Tim glances up at the now standing child, but Damian just pads off.
No one else seems to pay attention to the action, but Tim does, he can't help from wondering where Damian's going, watching him walk away, though he doesn't follow after the younger one.
Tim thinks for a second, Damian was probably going off to play somewhere else. Then he remembered it was Damian.
He ponders for a few minutes on where Damian had left to, stuck in his own curiosity.
But then he returned, Tim peered at him questioningly, and Damian held something out to Tim.
It was a Geranium.
Tim waited, but Damian didn't just push it into his hands like always, Damian waited for Tim to take it put of his hands himself.
So Tim does, holding it up to the sun, watching the way the maroon petals shine in the light.
"Huh..thanks kid."
Damian smiles at Tim's words, nodding pleasantly.
Damian seemed happier that Tim accepted the present, it was a relief that Damian was still in such a good mood.
Tim smiles back, ruffling the younger's hair.
Damian doesn't pull away or shout like he normally would. Opting to stay, even seeming glad.
It confused Tim, but it was a nice confusion, so he stayed silent, letting the comfortable atmosphere wash over them.
The day moves fast, everyone having fun, but when they make it home, Tim realizes he forgot the flower at the park.
Though he supposes it is just a flower after all.
But when they get home Damian's mood sours.
A frown set on his small face. He brushes past Jason quietly.
"Hey, Dami-"
Tim had begun calling out, only cut off by a door clicking shut, Damian's bedroom door, as he ignored Tim...
Tim didn't know why Damian was so upset now.
Jason let's out a whistle.
"Damn, what did you do to piss off your number one fan?"
Jason was amused, joking, but it wasn't amusing to Tim.
They had just started to fix their relationship, why did this have to happen. Maybe Damian just changed his mind.
But as the day finishes and the week continues, Damian doesn't cheer up, only becoming his irritable past self.
And Tim decides he's seen enough.
Damian was upset, everyone had to know, he was aware of just how terribly he was hiding it.
Drake didn't want to be his brother and that was fine, he just had to let the older leave.
He wouldn't stop him if Drake didn't want him to.
"Damian, we need to talk."
Damian had to admit he was surprised when one day Drake walked up to him, in the living room.
"Yes, Drake?"
Damian prompted, his tone professional, he thought it would be better, thought Drake would enjoy this tone more, but it only seemed to upset him.
"I want to know what's wrong, why are you being a brat again?"
Drake probably shouldn't have worded it that way, and Drake probably knows it too, and just doesn't care, doesn't care about you, stop trying.
Damian pushed all of his thoughts away.
"You disposed of your Geranium."
Damian had informed, as if Drake didn't already know that.
Damian clenched his hands at Drake's next words, his knuckled turning white.
"That's what all of this is about? Damian it's just a flower."
To hear that stung more than Damian thought it would.
"It is not. It is a Geranium, those symbolize siblings, I gave it to you for that reason, I had assumed you left it for that reason. I know I'm not the ideal choice of brother, you don't have to pretend."
After Damian explained Tim fell silent, and Damian just stood, waiting in the quiet, like he had done hundreds of times before.
Although, Damian was confused, Tim had been silent for awhile now, looking almost distraught, it was an uncomfortable look to see on his elder brother.
"I did not know that. Damian, of course you're my little brother. I thought you knew you always were."
Tim spoke through a borderline sorrowful sigh. And Damian couldn't believe his ears.
"And don't talk about yourself like that."
Tim reminds, adding on to his sentence.
Damian can't stand the feeling of embarrassment that washes over him as he listens to Tim.
Was Damian really that ignorant? Not realizing that Tim hadn't even known what it meant to him.
Of course Tim wouldn't know, Damian never told him, not even once.
His face is dusted red, he knows it, but at this point, he isn't sure how much he cares.
He crashes into his older brother with a tight hug, rivaling one of Dick's.
"This never happened, by the way."
Damian murmurs into the fabric of Tim's shirt, a warm smile creeps onto Tim's expression.
"Sure thing, squirt."

Press, holding a microphone too close to Tim’s face at a gala: how are you settling in at the Wayne’s now you’re officially adopted?
Tim, with a confused face: What do you mean? I’m not adopted.
Press: ..What? No, you were adopted-
Tim: Bruce gave birth to me.
Bruce, behind Tim, nodding: Obviously.

Some mission where the family comes across this mirror that shows your tru self, " window to the soul and all" whatever that magician was mumbling about.
To expose their identities, their true selves to the world.
Everyone appears normal, nothing changed. Bruce remains batman, after all the mask is more his real self that whatever is under. Tim and dick are both wearing some version of their uniform. However their bodies remain the same. When tim first had robin taken away for him, he felt like his world was stolen from him, staring back at him is his current uniform, he is glad he was able to move on. Nightingale was wearing his old nightwing suit, it was around the time Jason started rejoining the family and everything was starting to get better and he was able to focus on himself.
Damian has no reflecriron at first.. until they look down, a small boy of 6 or 7 years stares back at himself with blue eyes.
Next to him stands Jason, in robin uniform, body bleeding, bruised, filled with wounds, broken. Half his mask is burned off, revealing one blue eye. On his cheeks a distinct J. This is him the day he died as robing. Bruce is brought back to the day he held his son in his last moments. He is pulled back to that moment all again for a second. It clicks for Dick and Tim too. After all they both have secretly read through the files and seen the uniform in the batcave. THIS was Jason's last day as robing, last day alive.
Then they all look back at damian. Green eyes, same shade as Jason. And the young child in the mirror, blue eyes. This is a family of detectives.
When Damian first died he was six. He did not know that then because he was only six years old. He will grow up to forget the colour of his eyes, just like your father his mama used say. They are just like mine, his mother would say.

I can’t explain how much I love fics where Tim is upset at the unfair treatment he got as Robin vs everyone else’s treatment and everyone else finds out, especially when he’s just upset with Damian getting this ‘prince treatment’ and he rants about it to Dick or Jason or both and they’re just like “huh?? No Bruce always gave us curfews??” Or “no Bruce always made sure we got proper treatment for our injuries??” And so on I just love it so so so much!! Especially the longer ones where it shows Tim and Bruce reconciling and Bruce at least somewhat making up for the past and Damian coming to an understanding about Tim (if that makes sense) also if anyone wants to leave fic recs like that I’d appreciate so so much I’m having a hard time finding more lolol
(Also yes I will be posting fic recs tonight just give me a couple hours I just got off work lolol)

Though there are valid reasons to want characters to have their own identities, I think some people insist too much on the Batfamily having all individual, unique names. This is why the Orphan name persists so much in fandom, or even Wayne Family Adventures - it's a byproduct of seeing 'Batgirl' as transitory and lesser than. This is not only a misunderstanding of Batgirl, but a misunderstanding of legacy mantles. Legacy mantles aren't stepping stones towards individuality, but identities with symbolic and storied histories. Characters can, and sometimes should, end in a legacy role.
It's also interesting that this anti-legacy philosophy is exactly what DC adopted during the New 52. They destroyed virtually every legacy they could, including wiping Tim's Robin history, erasing the JSA, and deleting Cass and Steph's histories. We all agree New 52 was bad, but most people focus on the content/ramifications on a specific character, when it's the philosophy that was wrong. New 52 was an effort to diminish the power of legacy titles, and to dismiss many characters that fall under the legacy umbrella.
Some characters should grow out of their mantles, of course. But that doesn't make the mantle they grow out of less meaningful or important than the mantle they step into. If we want to leave the New 52 behind, we need to leave its anti-legacy philosophy behind, too.

Tim, holding something behind his back: don’t be mad.
Bruce, already getting mad: I won’t get mad, you can always talk to me. What’s going on?
Tim, revealing a swaddled baby: I messed up when cloning Kon and accidently spilt my DNA into it and now I have a clone baby with my dead situationship.
Bruce, flabbergasted: ..???
Bruce: why were you cloning- when did you start datin- I’m a grandpa?! No, go back, how did you ‘accidently’ spill DNA aren’t you paranoid too????
Tim, who may or may not have been crying over one of the clones and accidently cut his lip trying not to sob and got blood into a test chamber: that’s not important.
Bruce, hyperventilating: why is it so small????
Tim: cause she’s only two months old.
Bruce; I understand that, but even an average two month old should be-…
Bruce: two.
Bruce: you said two months.
Tim: you said you wouldn’t get mad.
Bruce: you hid a baby for TWO MONTHS?!
Tim: I WAS PANICKING LEAVE ME ALONE!
Bruce: IVE BEEN A GRANDPA FOR TWO MONTHS AND YOU DIDNT TELL ME?!
Tim: WELL! I don’t know I’m seventeen, what did you expect?
Bruce, actively loosing brain cells: if you can clone your dead boyfriend-
Tim: we never actually started dating-
Bruce: -then you can tell your father you had a baby.
Tim: …
Tim: I’m not exactly sure what stage of being an adult I am, I started a little young I think.
Tim: but I am a mother now so don’t you dare yell at me.
Bruce: …
Tim: …
Bruce: …
Bruce: … can I hold her?
Tim, grinning in victory: wash your hands first and then you can.
LATER:
Bruce: why is she a girl if you and Kon are both male?
Tim: are you questioning my baby’s gender??? That’s so homophobic, gay men can raise girls.
Bruce: you know damn well I didn’t mean-

Another de aged Dan and Ellie story or otherwise known as Crack
Pt 1 Pt2
If only Clark hadn't been busy tracking Luthor, he would have been able to save his nephew, his sons best friend.
Once again, Lex Luthor has sabotaged him. He didn't even need kryptonite to do it this time. After Lexs mental breakdown, he had apparently gone off the grid, and unsurprisingly, he wasn't able to hear anything from him. According to the snippets from Lexs staff he had apparently refused to answer to his name, started to hate it, and called his board a " bunch of idiotic bimbos who only appear to work so they could buy expensive cars and whores".
It's definitely a mental breakdown or a possession. Lex doing something to damage his image? Unheard of. Possession didn't seem likely. What kind of person posseses a ceo just to insult his board and completely change their personality? They'd be immediately noticed.
He had been investigating Lex's disappearance for the past month and a half and had only succeeded in not being around to stop his nephew from committing suicide.
Bruce had called out for him, but being halfway across the world he couldn't make it in time, and consequently Damian made it over the bridge and he had been searching for his body for the past 3 hours and he still couldn't find him.
He had never seen Dick so shaken before. Jason had barely been able to stop him from following his brother over the bridge. After he arrived on the scene, Jason started to take his brother home.
"Find his body." He had told him before turning and wrangling Dick onto his own bike
"Stop, Jay. I have to find him. Please... Uncle Clark, please. You have to bring him home. I have to... " He could hear Dick plead with them the whole way back to the cave.
He could only bring their bikes home.
They had now all retired to the cave. He was ignoring Alfred calling Steph and Cass in the other room. Ignoring their desperate denials and begging to be told it was just a cruel prank. Ignoring Dick's full body sobs into Jason's arms, shaking them both. Ignoring Bruce's absent look and ignoring how similar Bruce and Jason's grief was.
Tim, luckily, hadn't broken his leg like what they originally had thought, only popped his knee out at such an angle it looked like it. Alfred had already reset it and listed his usual recovery despite Tim not even pretending to listen to it this time. Duke had already helped him upstairs, eyes red and swollen.
Finally the the tense silence came to an end.
"Did you find anything?" Bruce, one of his oldest and closest friends, asked, his voice calm and steady, his heart unwavering as ever but he knew better.
"I'm sorry."
"Search again."
Just as he was about to fly out again, the elevator opened.
"I found this in Damian's room." Tim hurriedly spoke he was already rushing past him on his crutches to the evidence processing, not even explaining what "this" even is.
"Tim. Explain." Bruce rushing and limped past him following quickly.
Like father, like son.
"What is it?" He turned to look at Dick, he had tear stains but his eyes were dryer his mouth was set in a firm line but he was leaning heavily on his younger brother.
"Tim found something." He responded quietly, and he continued on following his friend.
They sat silently together while Tim and Bruce worked together without speaking like a well-oiled machine firm in it's objective.
He'd say Jason was as still as a corpse with his eyes glazed over unseeing, but that observation was far from appropriate, considering everything.
99% Match found. Partial fingerprints detected unknown. The computer had finally accounted after 15 minutes of silence.
He and Jason waited for Bruce and Tim to tell them instead of jumping like Dick did to get the first look. He doubted Jason could get up, Jason was strong so strong, but he was still so young.
They all were.
Especially Damian, despite all his headstrong confidence and borderline arrogance, he will still only fourteen.
Only fourteen years old and dead by suicide.
He still needed to tell Jon he was buying time by the well-timed expedition of him and Kon already off planet and galaxy on whatever Kon called "brotherly bonding with a little bit of interplanetary fighting and toppling monarchies splashed in and maybe we'll catch a movie on the way home" they had joined some green lanterns to help rescue some new green lanterns who got in between a revolution on accident. He remembers researching for days before letting Jon go, but even just the name of the planet now escapes him.
It all seemed so trivial now.
He had seen what became of Dick and Bruce when Jason had died when Dick had been off-planet, and Bruce hadn't reached out to tell him. He just hoped Jon could forgive him.
"Clark. Where is Lex Luthor." Bruce demanded turning to finally look him in the eyes.
"I'm not sure. Lex went underground a month and half ago. Why? What does he have to do with this?" Clark asked carefully. He had to be careful not to set Bruce off.
" AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TELLING ME? Bruce's voice rose exponentially.
Too late, he couldn't help but think.
"His fingerprints are all over this goddamn envelope. Whatever was inside made Damian kill himself, and you're asking what does it matter!"
"How do we know?" Dick spoke softly, his eyes still glued to the results.
Everybody turned at the same time. Jason's head snapping so fast he winced.
"Know... Know what?" Tim asks him just as softly.
" How do we know Damian is.. is dead?" He spoke again, looking up to glance at them all.
" I know Damian. He's my.. my...He wouldn't just kill himself. He couldn't have. He showed no signs of ever even contemplating it. Not even... Damian would have told me.. Would have trusted me to help him. Lex must have taken him or.. or somehow lured him away." Dick spoke hurriedly or desperate but still completely convinced.
"Chum.."
"FUCK!" Jason exclaimed standing up and kicking his chair sending into the wall hard enough to crack the plastic. His hands shook like they were itching to wrap around someone's throat. They twitched and he ran his hands through his hair, his eyes were greener than ever and glowed so strong there seemed to be a small headlight in front of him almost.
"He could be out there being tortured or worse! And we are just sitting here twiddling our thumbs like FUCKING BABIES!" His voice grew louder and louder until he was screaming into their faces.
"Jaylad-" Bruce started just by hearing that name he knew whatever Bruce was going to say was going to be the complete wrong thing.
"We are going to find him. No matter what it takes. I never gave up on Bruce, and i can't give up in my baby brother either." Tim spoke up, his voice unwavering his heartbeat never stuttering, not even once.
He risked a glance at Bruce. His old friends face was softer, looking at his sons, but his frown was determined, and he tilted his head in the way he always did when he wasn't going to give up.
They were going to bring him home. They just had too.
---------
Crack
Boy, was Damian glad about this storm. He quickly realized that he couldn't use more than one of his powers at one time. He was able to make it to the coordinates of the apparent luxurious island Vlad was hiding out on.
He was expecting actual underground, not just some shell company bought island decked in lead and man-made waterfall galore.
He was absolutely soaking wet and shivering by the time he crashed onto the island. The storm just kept on thundering down on him, plastering his clothes and hair to his face in clumps. He better not get sick from this.
Cold fog escaped his throat, and he shivered even more.
"Daniel! Is that really you?" Lex fucking Luthor called out after he'd been laying exhausted and chilled to the bone in the grimy muddy sand for a few minutes.
"Hey, fruitloop." Was the first and last thing that he said before promptly passing out.

Something something Tim tearing up at his first Christmas with the Wayne’s because he’s used to presents being ordered by assistants while his parents are on digs and it’s always generic but Bruce gets him a personal present based off an inside joke and no he’s not crying it’s just he wasn’t sure if Bruce was just pretending to be happy he wasn’t here for dick’s sake but Bruce remembered and went out of his way to find the silly present and it’s cheap and stupid and nothing like what his parents would give him and it’s perfect because it means Bruce knows him, really knows him—

May get crucified for this take but I am of the belief that aside from hating Alfred for getting one of his friends killed just so Bruce could play pretend at being normal, Duke isn't impressed with his cooking like at all & either buys take out, makes his own food or goes by the Foxes or his friends for meals.
I know people glaze the hell out of Alfred's cooking prowess but logically looking at his backstory & his classist attitude he's likely only adept at British & maybe French food & not even the basic or homely stuff either.
Also depending on where you headcanon Elaine from (she's not a Gotham native but fled their to escape Gnomon, I personally go with West Africa or the Caribbean) he would have grown up with a specific type of cooking that is just not in Alfred's toolset.
If you wanna be logical only people I see actually liking his food in character is Cass (she's not a picky eater), Tim (grew up with similar enough food), Jason (also not a picky eater) & maybe Dick (didn't like it at first but grew to like it because of how long he lived with Bruce)
Given Damian was raised as literal royalty he's grown up on food from chefs that make Alfred look like a college student making cup ramen so I'm positive he just tolerates the food.

Fics I Enjoyed in December - DC Comics Fic Rec List
Fell headfirst back into DC Comics for the first time in years this month. Reread some old favorites and discovered some new gems!
My January DC Comics fic rec list is here!
Heart, Humble by Betty (Mature, 8k, 2005) Jack Drake deals with finding out that Tim is Robin (poorly, and then not so poorly). THEE canon-accurate Jack Drake-focused fic of all time, this is canon in my heart.
Back then, all the boys his age had hero-worshipped costumed vigilantes. Jack supposes they still do.
Exit Strategy by smilebackwards/@smilebackwards (Teen & Up, 13k, 2021) Tim plans to leave a family he thinks he was never really a part of and decides to train Damian on how to run Wayne Enterprises before he goes. Delicious angst, excellent character work, and fun Wayne Enterprises worldbuilding.
Batman needs a Robin and Batman has a Robin. Tim is just extraneous now, vestigial. He’s a bandage over a healed wound. He doesn’t know what he’s hanging on to. Or: Tim didn’t expect his exit strategy from the Batfamily to involve quite so much bonding time with Damian over Wayne Enterprises bureaucracy.
On the Downbeat by medusaceratops (Teen & Up, 2k, 2019) Bruce and Jason talk while waiting in line at a drive-thru (featuring Gotham-typical violence and husborth-typical gorgeous prose). I've always adored husborth's Star Wars fics and I'm so glad I dipped my toe into their DC works, no one's writing hits quite like husborth.
Jason has recovered his sanity, and Bruce and Jason have recovered their relationship; but there are some things that are hard to forget.
A Zoo for Canines by medusaceratops (Mature, 45k, 2019) Part 2 of Zoology; Dick and Jason try to help Bruce recover from addiction. If you're used to fanon Dick Grayson (cheery, friendly, forgiving) you will not find him here - his anger and pain is ugly, raw, and so fucking captivating.
Edit: This fic and the series has since been deleted off ao3, though Part 1 (An Aquarium of Nameless Things) is still up; DM me if you'd like to read it.
Dick, Bruce, and Jason head out to a cabin in the mountains, and they handle things about as well as they handle anything.
All the Roofs of Uncertainty by Kieron_ODuibhir/@kieron-oduibhir (General Audiences, 70k, 2015) Dick almost dies and makes Jason promise to take care of the family for him. A masterclass demonstration on how DC fic can square all the wildly divergent canon versions of Jason Todd into a single compelling character.
For all the blood on his hands, Red Hood was never just a villain. And Nightwing never gives up on family, not for good. (Or: The one where Dick bleeds a lot and Jason argues with everybody.)
The Till-Then From the Ever-Since by Kieron_ODuibhir/@kieron-oduibhir (General Audiences, 85k (WIP), 2020) Kid versions of the whole Batfamily mysteriously time travel to the future! I livetexted a friend the whole time I read this so I could yell about how amazing the character writing is; also I'm wildly impressed with how the author deftly handles tons of dialogue-heavy scenes with like 12+ guys in it without anyone going unmentioned.
It began, or seemed to begin, with Jason. Usually that would have meant something in the order of fire and explosion and probably at least one gunshot wound, but for once (as Tim said, sourly), it wasn't actually Jason's fault.
only you will have stars that can laugh by silverwhittlingknife/@silverwhittlingknife (Teen & Up, 9k, 2022) Dick finds out Tim is alone on Christmas and invites him to Babs' Christmas party. Discovered silverwhittlingknife through their galaxy brained Dick & Tim meta essays, stayed for every single line of Chapter 2 ripping out my heart and roasting it over an open flame.
You coming over is possibly the only thing that’s gonna stop me from wanting to punch your dad in the face, Dick doesn’t say. My current Christmas Day plans are 1) pace around at home, and 2) try not to obsess about what Bruce is up to, so trust me, you’ll be an improvement, Dick doesn’t say. Tim's alone on Christmas Eve. Dick finds out, and fixes it.
nerve endings by silverwhittlingknife/@silverwhittlingknife (Teen & Up, 5k (WIP), 2024) Post-Catalina Flores, Dick, Tim, and Bruce go on a (canon-accurate) cruise and dance around their open wounds. This is a glorious example of "he WOULD fucking say that", Dick's voice is so canon-accurate that the angst is even more painful i cri
It's all right, even, to have a foreign hand pressing against his skin, testing him, testing his reactions. He keeps his breathing controlled. Just Tim, damn you, it’s just Tim, don’t fuck it up. Dick's on a cruise with Bruce and Tim. And he's fine. Mostly.
Red Letter Day by silverwhittlingknife/@silverwhittlingknife (Teen & Up, 42k (WIP), 2022) Dick is sure the cryptic scribble in his agenda refers to something he's supposed to do for Damian, but he can't remember what. Mostly about Tim and Dick s l o w l y mending the post-Damian rupture in their relationship, but the whole family is here and Jason, especially, is fucking hilarious.
Dick Grayson, stressed pseudo-parent to a preteen assassin, tries to solve the case of Damian’s Mysterious Wednesday. He never expected it to help him fix his relationship with Tim, too. (… Though only after everything fell apart first.)
Gonna Be A Better One (A Thousand Miles To Your Door) by Traincat/@traincat (Teen & Up, 18k, 2011) Tim and Kon keep dating even after Jack forces Tim to retire as Robin. I reread this fic annually and every time am delighted to rediscover how funny and heartwarming and squee-inducingly kind it is, pure Timkon perfection.
In which Tim quits being Robin, Kon refuses to quit Tim and Ma Kent is full of relationship advice.
last light in a darkened room by bigdamnher0/@bigdvmnhero (Not Rated, 6k, 2024) Tim finds a distressing video of Robin!Dick and wishes that things were different. buy back the secrets by sundiscus/@vinelark (Teen & Up, 91k (WIP), 2024) Superboy rescues civilian Tim Drake before learning that Tim is Robin and shenanigans ensue. I spent my whole holiday vacation intermittently screaming at this fic while my family members looked on with vague concern this fic is ADORABLE and AGONIZING and PERFECT please and THANK YOU.
He takes a long, slow breath. Ignores the glares from the other students. “Superboy,” he murmurs. “It’s me. If you’re listening, I could use some help.” Or: 5 times Superboy saves Tim Drake, and one time Tim Drake saves Superboy.
