Anonymous asked: Hello, I would like to know your opinion about something: Feng Jiu has not yet passed her ascension to "high immortal", do you think this would happen without problems or would it be complicated for her? (I had this doubt thinking about Bai Quian. Mo Yuan endured the lightning for her, making her have to go through a hard trial afterwards. Back to the subject, Feng Jiu has her husband's ring to protect her, but heaven could see this as a bad thing and consider it an advantage) Thank you in advance for your answer 🙏🙏

Firstly - bear in mind that likely it will be many years before Feng Jiu will have to endure her first lightnings. Not only is she very young, being only around 30,000 (for reference: Yehua's ascension to high immortal at 20,000 was considered to be very fast in a record-breaking fashion), but her cultivation was also halved at the very least toward the end of the Pillowbook after fighting and being wounded by Miaoluo.

Donghua's failsafe measure with the ring was implemented not because of any immediate danger but rather that he assumed he was going to die and therefore have to leave her something as protection rather than wait out the years and see. Therefore, there's really no telling when and in what state Feng Jiu will be when she reaches a point where she can make the ascension and take those lightnings. Given Feng Jiu's displayed independence, and Donghua's willingness to sit back and see while she tries to handle herself - it'll be possible, I think, that she could take her own lightnings when the time comes.

If Donghua does end up helping or shouldering the lightnings in some fashion when the ascension comes, however - I think, in terms of balance, Feng Jiu (and Donghua arguably a ridiculous amount more so) have really already endured plenty of "calamities." If anything, it might be more reasonable for the heavenly principles to count it as her having endured the trial of suffering first, and the lightnings coming much later.

Ultimately, though, I think the lightnings (and trials that come with ascension) have to do with growth, as cultivation also does. Therefore, I think the strength of a trial and how hard it is may depend on whether or not the individual has grown beyond what they were spiritually. In that measure, I think Pillow Book, as a story about Feng Jiu's entanglement, understanding, and overcoming of fate - proves that she has already grown.

L: I always have a pen, because you never know when you’ll need one. Also Virgil got me this stress ball sort of things he said I should squeeze when I get frustrated. It’s shaped like a brain.

Ro: I do actually…but nobody knows I have to so keep this between us. It’s a little ruby. When I first woke up after the split the imagination was a bit of a mess, found it in an abandoned castle and somehow I knew it was from the old creativity’s crown. I keep it to remember I have to be better than he must have been, I have to be a hero, to be what Thomas needs me to be.

P: Oh mine is silly. It’s this little bell, doesn’t even really make a sound anymore. It used to be on a stuffed toy Thomas loved when he was a tike. I like to keep it to remind myself no matter how big he gets, he’s still my kiddo.

i just find it a little ludicrous how, both in and out of lore, the admins/keepers have been forcing conflict to happen but then the ball happens and everyone is being forced to work together ??? it’s such a sudden turn that doesn’t make any sense to me. maybe that’s on purpose but it doesn’t feel very satisfying from a viewer perspective — kind of feels like a plot twist that was written purely for shock value, especially with the ban of ros, aimsey and pangi — who are probably the favourites of the realm community.

i don’t know. i’m not a huge fan of how it played out. i’m sure it will lead to interesting interactions and answers but at the moment, i just feel kind of disappointed for a multitude of reasons.

tbh, i'm pretty used to admin-intercepted lore and it didn't bother me too too much; i thought that the stuff that happened with like the end fight for example was pretty interesting without it being too overbearing. i think the issue comes into play when the admin lore takes precedence over player-based/made lore because it feels like they're actively rejecting or shelving the players/streamers lore in favor of their own, at least from an audience perspective.

i think letting and/or choosing three of the most active people to take out, even for shock value, was such a poor decision. i mentioned this in another post but i think it is incredibly stupid for someone like ros, who has been fighting tooth and nail to survive and maintain her progress since the start of the server, to lose all her levels to this (im under the assumption they will if they come back, not sure/confirmed though). literally the entire server she has done nothing but try and stay alive and was finally somewhere comfortable with her levels/lives that she was able to just live freely, and to now potentially lose all of that is absurd. it's unsatisfactory as a viewer when you realize how much of her story was about surviving and becoming strong enough to thrive on her own for her to die in such a way.

also forgot to add this to my last ask but ros’s latest tweet and aimsey’s reply heavily imply that this is going to be a big part of their character’s arcs. meaning admins weren’t event highjacking anything in the first place.

Question 1. Why did you choose Fordham?

Question 2. Did you commute or live on campus/the neighborhood, etc?

Question 3. I could not find a review of any plays that mentioned you as an actor during your time at Fordham. Did you have a relationship with the theater group(s) while a student?

For the next few questions I would like to ask you about your educational background versus your acting career.

Question 4. Did you write a dissertation-for your doctorate?

Question 7. When you first appeared on The Sopranos (2:1) your character, Philly Parisi, was killed off as a one-and-done, so to speak. Yet you were brought back to play his twin cousin Patsy Parisi for 46 more shows. What was the delay between getting killed off and being told you were coming back? Also, what kind of emotions were you feeling during this period?

Question 8. This is not that big a deal, but since David Chase was noted for his clever, subtle use of language, don’t you think Patsy would have been a better name for someone who thinks he is doing a favor and gets his head blown off than the other way around?

Question 9. "It won't be cinematic" has to be up there with all the great lines in literature and theater. Did you know the reaction you were going to get when you saw it in the script? How about the 1st table read?

Question 10. I know you have a “side hustle” where people can get you ro say/write that line in greetings and warning to their family and friends. How is that going for you?

Question 11.  It won't be cinematic, what is the under/over on that being on your gravestone?

Final Question preface: Tolstoy, supposedly said of Chekhov, he would have been a better writer if he had not been so good a doctor. (Though historically, there might have been some sarcasm in that compliment, but it got me thinking.) I knew several young people that were very good musicians who also majored in music education-to have something to fall back on should their career as musicians not work out. Well, you might have guessed it, all of them spent a little bit of time in New York hustling for work, yet all soon became music teachers instead. 

Question 12. Would you have been a better professor, or contrasting that, a better actor if you did not split your time as you did?

Description: This is the beginning...the very beginning before [Name] even moved into the Chateau. Before they came along, however, there was already someone else, another doll he collected. Except it had been years, decades perhaps? He was already growing bored of it.

Long, slender fingers hovered over the ivory keys, his elbows following along in a smooth, fluid motion. With him sitting in front of his piano, she could forget who he was. What he was. She could let her guard down knowing that he would be too preoccupied to pay her any notice.

As if finally deciding which song to play, his finger dropped gently onto the keys, his porcelain wrists falling along with it.

The faint lilt of a smile appeared on his face, and for a moment...everything seemed perfect. Together with him, in his piano room, where invisible instruments accompanied his playing, they finally seemed like a happy couple. It was an idyllic, if not romantic image they created.

But of course, he could never forget, and she shouldn't either. She was jut a poor fly caught in his web. Soon enough, what would remain of her husk will become yet another addition to his collection.

Just like the others.

Still, he didn't want to eat her. Not yet, anyway...

His voice was baritone. It wasn't low, per se. His was rich, soft, soothing to the ears. She could feel herself drifting ever so slightly, but she wills herself to stay awake.

Like a rusted machine, she turned her head to look around. Was she seeing things...or had he changed the interior again?

"Des mots de...tous les jours...

Et ça m' fait quelque chose..."

It wouldn't be unlike him. When she first came to this world, it reminded her very much of her old home in London. The old ivy-green wallpapers, the creaky wooden floors, and even the old commode drawer her mother gifted her on the day of her wedding.

She never thought she would see it again after they had to pawn it for money.

Now, it was probably stored away somewhere...like she would be soon.

She knew her time was coming.

The creature had grown bored of her. Tired of her . She had become too dull and lifeless for his tastes.

But how could he expect her to act alive when he has imprisoned her here?

He demanded from her. Always demanded. But nothing she gave was enough. Even after she gave up her soul, handed her eyes to him...but not like she was any better, was she?

To give up herself because he promised her everything. All his love and attention, all the jewelries and materialistic things she could possibly think of.

The song ended wistfully like a will o' wisp caught in the meadows. But now that the performance was over, the creature's attention had returned fully back to her.

She tried her best to avoid looking at his face, but even from her peripherals, it was difficult to ignore them. The pair of black-button-eyes hidden beneath the fringe of swaying black hair. His porcelain skin made them stand out all the more.

She resisted a shudder. His very appearance made her skin crawl.

"Did you enjoy the song, dear?"

She raised her head to look at him. Only then did she notice the dimple on his cheek from the large smile on his face. Someone was being awfully cheery today, and it made her wary.

"Granted, it isn't our love song, but I believe it's about time I sing something different, don't you think? After all, a new guest will be arriving soon."

Her eyes widened at his words. Well, they would have if she still had them instead of a pair of buttons. All she could do to express her disbelief was...silence.

"I know. I couldn't believe it as well when I first saw it, but alas...My familiars never lie."

Speak of the devil.

A large arachnid crawled its way past his shoulders and down his arms to his hand. Just seeing its needle-thin legs made the hairs on her neck stand.

The creature hummed as if he were listening to someone, but all she could see was the spider dancing away on top of his hand, moving sideways, backwards and forwards like it was trying to convey some kind of message.

"Hmm...I see."

Gone was the pleased smile on his face. Now, an irritated frown took its place, showcasing his displeasure at the sudden turn in events.

As curious as she was to know what the spider's message was, she couldn't bring herself to ask. She had become afraid of speaking or acting out of place. The consequences were too much. The stitches on her throat always reminded her.

"Looks like our guest will be...late."

The creature stood up ever so gracefully. It was odd, considering his monstrous height. Giants were usually awkward and lumbering in their movements, weren't they?

But then again, the giant in Jack and the Giant Beanstalk was truly titanic. A monster of both enormous length and width.

The creature in front of her? He was too thin, too...thorn-like. Not so different looking from the spider on his hand, really.

He sighed. "And I had everything ready and settled, too. What a shame."

Then, his black eyes shimmered. When they turned to look at her, however, she knew he had thought of nothing good. He only ever gets excited about bad things.

As he tap-tapped his fingers away on the smooth surface of the piano, he hummed.

"I suppose that is good news for you, dear." With a toothy grin, he revealed his sharp teeth. She could imagine what they would feel like sinking into her.

"Until [Name] isn't here yet, I still have use for you."

Now, hold on a second. I will start by saying, yes, Blue and Yellow have had to do quests and the like to gain members. It's been a struggle. And I'm not here to say "Green had the fewest members, they needed them!" (All of the people I'm saying are in character btw, not the creators)

(and all of this is /lh /gen, sorry if it comes off as aggressive, I'm just passionate)

But the actual issue I have with what you're saying is that no one has had any lore reason to join Green and that's just flat out wrong.

Tubbo wasn't going to be brought into Yellow after leaving Blue due to his aggression towards the kingdom, and was recruited by Green.

Krow was definitely a more loose addition to the Green faction overall, considering how it happened. But I still believe there was a lore reason for why it got added so quickly, and that it had to do with the Keeper's favoritism to Tubbo.

And also, Krow had some negative associations with Yellow already due to being previously Red, and by proxy of being part of Red, was blamed for those kills pulled off against Yellow by Pili. Also, Ros still doesn't like Krow for what it did to Aimsey to save their faction members. And maybe Blue was an option, but I imagine Krow still has more resentment for Yellow overall, and neutrality doesn't seem to fit him that much.

Lukey was killed by Ros upon entering the server, and got recruited by Bad after some good negotiation on their part. Pretty lore intensive.

And Badlinu today when getting switched over that Yellow has hurt him (specifically Ros, which I do feel for her ooc) and that Bad specifically gave him his armor and showed him kindness despite being in the Red faction.

The only new member that's actually been there to use Green is Owen, but, again, for lore reasons.

And with Sausage, it was lore. That's what held him back. It was part of his lore that there would be problems with him getting onto Yellow.

And idk what was up with Scott's moving, but what this actually comes down to isn't that the admins have favorites, it's that over time, things have changed, and every individual player has individual expectations for what they want. Especially with Red essentially being dissolved at this point, it being a failed experiment, there's no reason to hold onto players and make them do extra stuff to get into other factions.

Put very basically, it's a clash of lore between the server and players. There's not an answer. Every case is handled individually, and that means there's going to be contradictions, unfortunately. But there are legitimate reasons for players being where they are, and just because you're frustrated doesn't mean you should dismiss that. /lh /gen

The admin favoritism for green especially now that Tubbo is on it is so annoying tbh. They literally can get anyone on their team immediately by asking while blue and yellow had to do obtuse quests and still be forced to wait weeks if not months just for the chance to join

The game takes about an hour to play and calls for three to six players to investigate a murder by gathering evidence. The winner is the player who, through the process of elimination, can figure out which three cards are hidden within the secret envelope that hold the answers to Mr. Boddy's murder.

hello admin team! i think this rp is such a fresh idea and im excited to join. 🫶🏼 do you mind elaborating more on ilsang's history? the year it was founded, any important facts about the area, is there noted scenic views such as mountains / hills / bodies of water etc? could muses have family that have lived for generations? what's the weather usually like? do you have any visuals for the town for references? thank you for your help. ✨

sure thing! i'll do my best to keep it short, as most of our lore and specifics can be found in our pages ( see timeline, locations, housing, npcs ). all of the visuals for the town can be found at locations, but again, if you need more of a feel as to what ilsang is like, i will try my best to answer this question under the cut. please let me know if you have any further questions! and thank you for your interest!

HISTORY 

before ilsang was an official town (pre-korean war), it follows the same history as the rest of korea! 

during the korean war, ilsang (though not officially ilsang) served as a military base for many american soldiers. this was around the time the bunker was built (for safety precautions). 

ilsang's official founding day is august 20, 1954 (stay tuned for our fashionably late founder's day event). although most of land had some housing/prior buildings scattered in place, this is the official date that ilsang became its own town rather than an extension of neighboring places. 

because of its proximity to the ocean, ilsang's biggest export is fish. 

since 1954, ilsang has advertised itself to tourists in hopes to also gain more income via tourism. due to this and its prior history, many townies are likely to be multilingual-- or at least know basic english. 

with its relations to the korean war, ilsang-- although not inherently a military base itself-- still is closeby to an american military base. hence, we welcome muses of western fcs who would love to come to ilsang as either visitors or townies! 

if you are applying for a tour guide position these may be important to note! also you may grab important info from our npc page! 

fun fact, the moon twins are the oldest ilsang residents, as their family are the original owners of the haedodi house! so to answer your question, yes, you may have individual generational history with ilsang, though many muses with older history may remember ilsang as what it was prior! and from there they would get to watch ilsang grow to what it is today.

ENVIRONMENT 

much like the rest of south korea, ilsang's biome is deciduous forest! there is a beach on the west side of ilsang, but the east side (near jeongsang park) is a more forested area. hence why much of our housing has unique characteristics and inspo! for example, residents in yeonhwa-gil are within walking distance of the ports, which is why this housing is rather run down and old (they were the original houses of ilsang due to the close proximity to the water-- used for crop irrigation). 

ilsang itself isnt exactly the same distance above sea level, as you go west its about 0-10' above sea level-- to the east it matches ansan at 30'. so, although ilsang isn't exactly mountainous, the area itself isn't one flat plot of land. i would say the most 'mountainous' part of ilsang would be jeongsang park, but even then it is not that high in altitude! 

major bodies of water would be the pacific ocean and the lake found deeper into jeongsang park! 

summer: long, hot, humid (especially during monsoon season); winter: freezing cold, dry, snowy 

fall and spring are intermediates of these! 

ilsang's symbolic flower is the sunflower! there is a field of them near jeongsang park!

MISC 

ilsang is not a major city, it's more of a 'everybody knows everybody' town! 

pretty suburban/rural in the sense that most of the food is locally grown, but with mayor choi and his previous successors, the town grew neighborhoods like yonghaeng-ro (wealthy gated community) and deokgu-gil (think college 'town' vibe, all the housing is more updated than yeonhwa-gil, but not as modern as yonghaeng-ro). 

town has not really been updated since its 1954 establishment since most of the townies enjoy the unique characteristics the original town buildings hold! most business owners think the charm of the town buildings helps bring in business. 

though some residents/visitors may say otherwise! power outages are common in yeonhwa-gil due to the outdated architecture and electricity sources. 

yonghaeng-ro is currently the most updated housing (thanks to mayor choi), so the amenities and housing are pretty modern and up to date. 

if you would like some ideas on what exactly the feel of the town is (with the aliens included) some of the inspiration for the lore of our roleplay is Wandavision (tv show), The Twilight Zone: Season 1 Episode 22 (tv show), Nope (movie), Us (movie), Venom (marvel), Get Out (movie), Fear Street series (netflix trilogy), The Quarry (video game), The War of The Worlds (1938 radio drama/event). Some of our pre-plots also are inspired by Fright Night (1985, movie), Disturbia (movie), Scooby-Doo (tv show), IT (novel/movie). We may also have future plots which may take more inspiration from other media! 

it's important to note that while this roleplay is lore heavy, most of the 'lore' will progress as the community itself progresses. there's a lot of things undiscovered about ilsang that may or may not be uncovered depending on our lovely writers and the direction they move with their muses! we wanted to create a roleplay that, while it already has its own storyline, it's fluid and is more community based.

I have a question about the monthly challenge. Is it okay to combine the challenge with, for instance, a Drabble game that I'm doing? Or connect it with one of my series? Or does it have to be an specific story made just for it without connections to anything else?

It’s definitely okay to be connected to something you’re already working on! We only ask that you do not combine the two themes into one work is all.

Shu: The first time he caught you singing he was amazed, he couldn't believe how beautiful your voice sounded and he even felt upset because you didn't let him hear you before. He will definitely encourage you to sing more and would love when you sing to him.

Reiji: He is impressed, he imagined that you were a good singer cause you told him before that you like to sing, but he didn't expect you to be that good. He'll ask you to sing specific songs from time to time.

Ayato: This was his first time hearing you sing. "Why didn't you tell me you can sing that good??", "How do you even go that high??". He will definitely make you sing for him.

Laito: He wasn't surprised, for some reason he always thought that you were a good singer. "Hmm, Bitch-chan has such a nice voice, I'd love to hear you sing all the time" "But is not the first time that I hear your voice going that high Nfu~"

Kanato: He won't let you know but he loves the fact that you can actually sing, since he sometimes sings too I feel like he would lowkey enjoy singing with you

Subaru: He didn't think he could be more in love with you until he accidentally heard you sing. He thought you were incredibly talented but he won't let you know that he heard you unless someday you ask him directly.
