Weird dream. I was myself, visiting the library of my childhood. I wanted to ask them if they still had the comics I liked to read, but the main entrance wasn’t working.

I wound up using a tiny spiral staircase that took me up to the second floor, which meant I had to work my way down to reception instead of starting there. As I did, I realized that a lot had changed— namely, there was suddenly So Much Pokemon Stuff. I stopped for a bit next to one shelf that had 100% guides for every Pokémon game and a bunch of Pokémon plushies. It was explained to me that one librarian in particular was very passionate about completing Pokémon games, and believed everyone should do it.

I finally got to reception, and it was pretty busy— run by three tiny old ladies, who seemed somewhat out of their depths using computers. One looked up at me, smiled, and said “I’m sorry dear, we can’t help you right now, the computer network is too busy.” I nodded, took about three steps away, and then did a swift about face and came back. I explained my purpose— asking if they still had those comics, and ended up watching her extremely slowly peck away at a keyboard in an effort to find out for me. Her name was Shea. She insisted on starting every search by typing ‘Shea wants to know’ into Google. Google, of course, did not know if this one library had these specific comics.

Eventually I suggested she show me to where’s the comics were kept, and I’d look myself. She agreed.

I don’t know where I am. Everything is cold and foggy. I’m cold. Why am I cold. Something above me hisses “there’s intruders,” and I watch as a long, serpentine beast whips away into the fog. Also, I’m not me anymore. I’m Leo RiseOfTheTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles.

I’m also not alone. Casey— specifically future Casey, is sitting in front of me, face filled with concern, reaching out. “I’m so cold,” I tell him, as I take his hand. “I’m so cold.”

Touching him, I become a little more aware. The fog begins to recede. He’s speaking urgently on the phone with someone— “do the gesture,” they urge, “try doing the gesture.”

He traces his fingers over mine, and I recognize it as something my family came up with after the prison dimension, to help me tell what’s real. The fog is gone. I’m not cold. Casey isn’t on the phone, but my brothers are here— I just couldn’t see them before.

I look at Mikey, first. There are several Mikeys. Everyone is acting like this is normal. The other Mikeys aren’t reacting like they can be seen. I look at Raph, same thing, except all the other Raphs are shorter. I look at Donnie. There is a vague haze of purple behind him that suggests more Donnie’s but I cannot look at them, I cannot look away from Donnie’s face, because he’s suddenly so anime. Like, he’s turned into one of those gags where someone’s face is drawn overly glittery and handsome. This fills me with a primal dread and terror so strong I wake up instantly

Friendly reminder that health isn't a moral subject. The idea that being unhealthy is wrong is ableism plain and simple, despite living a very healthy lifestyle I will never be healthy.

I would love it for everyone to thrive. I do encourage everyone to take care of yourselves. But not because it is right or wrong, not because you're bad if you don't.

I could talk for hours about all the different reasons someone might not take care of themself. Disability, being neglected as a child, personal crisis, financial difficulties, sedentary working conditions, time poorness. But even if someone is completely able bodied, neurotypical, finaically well off, and in the upmost position of privilege. Even them. They aren't doing anything wrong by being unhealthy.

Including. This may be hard for some of you to hear. Including if they're fat. Even if they are fat for no reason other than loving high calorie, 'unhealthy' food.

Your health isn't a topic of morality where you are good or bad. It's no one else's business. You aren't bad for being unhealthy.

I'm not blaming the op of the original post, or trying to imply anything about them as a person. and I don't want to single out this post in particular, because the issue is an broadly reaching trend rather than any one individual happening to write a post in five minutes one time.

but I really Really wish we'd stop and think if it's a good idea to say "girls turning into boys makes them inherently less interesting" on the transgender website

picking a privileged group to be the butt of a joke because it's lighthearted when nobody's actually getting hurt by doing so Only Works when everyone within that group is actually privileged. making jokes about how men are lesser than doesn't Actually affect the people who are actually within power, but Does chip away at the confidence and comfort of marginalized men who are In these communities to be exposed to it.

and the issue isn't about any one joke or poorly worded discussion in particular, but it's difficult to articulate why it can feel so alienating and unsafe to have things like this be so common within my communities without sounding ridiculous or risk being made fun of for not being able to take a joke. because the framing of implied privilege makes it easy to twist those feelings alienation into the entitlement that's assumed with men taking issue with being the butt Of a joke.

I simply think "this type of person is inherently lesser than" should be reexamined and thrown out as a talking point, even in a lighthearted context. because there will always be vulnerable people within those groups who already Hear that they are lesser than for existing

I was thinking about the 5 year anniversary video and

it is interesting to me how Patton kind of decided for Logan what his role in the "family" would be. all the other sides chose it themselves, but he didn't get to.

even when he actively objects it's played for laughs and never addressed. this happened too when Patton revealed his name for him, and I just think it's interesting to note that after all these years, Logan still never gets to decide anything when it comes to Thomas, or even himself, to an extent. it's just kind of decided for him and he is expected to just go along with it, similar to how it was when Thomas dyed his hair.

ik it's mainly a "haha wine mom" moment, but that doesn't take away from how angsty it gets when you think about it.

Something that really sets Wille and Simon apart from other queer ships is that when we say their love language is physical touch, IT REALLY IS PHYSICAL TOUCH. And I’m not speaking of just sex. Over the course of the show, the amount of touching between them is astronomical. And that’s really something rarely seen in queer media. There may be moments here or there, but often times there’s a lack of physical contact unless it’s for “the plot”. Wille and Simon feel like a real couple in the way they’re always physically reaching out for each other.
