seen more than a couple posts recently laughing about lucanis' "like a kiss goodbye" line and how it's downright comical coming from him and how can illario not have jumped on that with all the sibling teasing???
(which is all accurate to a point and p funny, don't get me wrong)
but i think there's a point being missed there: lucanis is, in the most of the scene but especially the beginning, very much treating rook as an employer-slash-coworker who happens to be helping him deal with his zara "contract".
elsewhere spite says there's three kinds of people in his worldview: family, enemies, contracts. rook is just a contract at that point. it's still early in his personal quest, he hasn't had the time or the opportunity yet to see how rook really breaks those nice little boxes of compartmentalization. there are ways these kinds of meetings are supposed to go.
so he flirts, he's charming, because that's what is expected of him as a crow. this is a skill he's observed, and been taught, and learned from others, and can deploy easily when it doesn't mean anything. it's enjoyable to keep banter going with rook later in the conversation because it's banter, there's a rhythm to it that he can work with.
when it matters, when it's with someone he actually cares about, when it's real, you can tell. comparing coffee to a kiss goodbye? that's nothing. that's just rote small talk, meant to put a client at ease and endear them to lucanis. and illario would know that too.
#had to get my thoughts on to metaphorical paper somehow#also i stand by the fact that half the reason lucanis panics when you flirt in the pantry#is because it's easy to fall back onto a script#but that's not *real*#and he doesn't know what to do with either his feelings for rook or the fact that using the client script feels *wrong* because of it#dragon age#veilguard#veilguard spoilers#mild in the tags anyway#lucanis dellamorte#also lucanis is a funky lil autistic dude and you will never convince me otherwise

Working on my robot au and i decided ichimatsu would be the brother that would be extremely popular bc hes marketed as a domestic companion. There'd be someone in a civil rights legal battle with the supreme court to actually allow ai-human marriages to be legally recognized, with an ichibot.
I say this for several reasons, but mostly bc i can see yall doing that.
Osomatsu would be the cheapest to buy secondhand bc he keeps accidentally gaining real sentience and uses it immediately to gamble, commit crimes, fuck around and over all do osomatsu related bullshit. But he can drive! Thats his special feature!
I have ideas ofc for the other ones but lol ive been thinking "and osomatsu can drive too please stop returning him you cab use him as a taxi driver and make money off of him you just have to be okay with the fact he might hit on your customers or crash your car, or steal your money to gamble pleeaaaseee we're trying to fix this in Series 4!"
#open_mouth.exe#see the issue is that oso should be a big brother unit and theyre robbing him of hos true purpose#suematsu would ofc be social units. they would be purely companions with jyushi specifically being therapeutic#he'd be frequently seen in hospitals as a form of durable medical equipment or youd find him in schools as a coach or chaperone#there would be a few professional leagues made of jyushi custom configurations in the same way you see robot fighting#and theyd be use for multiple sports including mma and wrestling. and baseball ofc and stuff. jyushi is a companion tho but his uses are#medical and sport. hes a team member.#todo for the most part multipurpose but he does best as a companion. he's typically be used for lonely people who want to chat. lgbts. and#customer facing jobs. he'd be use anywhere from client relations. call centers. some restaurant chains would have one as a gen manager#he's priced out for the most part from the average population bc he has the most complex scripts so finding one secondhand would be rare#bc like jes highly sought after. many people WANT to buy him as a life partner after interacting w him in a csr context#but see his literal 22.5k price tag new and go thats the price of a new car..#osomatsu on the otherhand theyre tryong to give away at the door. current gen 3 brand new osos are less than 3k. they desperately want to#keep him in circulation bc hes a literal scientific marvel like they finally made the first artificial deadbeat loser#he tends to get bought by ppl who want a boyfriend or a friend but typically ends up as a bad influence so ppl return him#i got stuff about kara and choro but i haven't thought about it too deeply. i feel like both of them would be used for unintended purposes#Karamatsu for instance feels like he would be designed for people with social anxiety or for creative fields#but i feel like people would end up having an entire mod scene specifically for sexing him up in various ways like ppl woild become#programmrrs to fuck him. Kara can also drive but its not important bc oso comes with an internal gps and he doesnt#choro feels like he'd be designed as an elderly caretaker and companion but would end up somewhere else. i think#people would use his predisposition for entertainment and idols as like a utau and would have him either produce or sing music#like choro units would end up in so many bands

all vinegar no honey
#genuinely deranged ass assignment#i keep thinking this over and over but dennis reynolds youd love being a home inspector#every fucking time i read some shit abt how being a good home inspector is about putting on a performance/acting im like uh huh#oh you need to Maintain Control and not *lie* but be choosy with truths and how to deliver them#i don't even know if dennis would be particularly Good at this (theres So much that can throw you off your social script) but like#i think they were onto something w honey and vinegar truly i think he'd be a decent agent and a good inspector#in a familiar situation i think he'd be good at maintaining this sort of 'dont worry about it i have it under control'#in the most fake it til you make it way#and that's. like you dont even necessarily need to Know anything about what youre talking about#you basically just need to make sure the client doesn't distrust you enough to question it#inherently deceptive profession where you're sort of a jack of all trades and master of none#when in doubt just say you should probably get that looked at by a specialist lol#in the context of sunny i think itd be hilarious to have the gang walking through peoples houses and pointing to obvious disrepair#like yeah i think that's gotta get looked at#burst pipe gushing water -> camera pulls back to show charlie standing up to his waist in sewage#am i giving away the game here. hire me to look at your furnace or whatever i can tell you if there's rust on it#ada speaks#the one thing is that dennis is so bad at bullshitting i think anybody would catch on he had no idea what he was talking about#but if he was genuinely informed like he is with psychology i think he'd be able to manage questions being lobbed at him#at least well enough to deflect without losing credibility#inspector inspection

at the club last night a couple both came to me for a tarot reading, separately, and i had to tell them both, separately, “your relationship is fucked dude holy shit”
#cypher key#i didn’t say it like that. obviously.#the one person got ‘this is going to suck but you’ll live. you’re stronger than this.’#and the other got ‘break your addiction and communicate or die i guess!’#and i was like. … HUH.#client confidentiality etc i didn’t tell them the other’s reading info but they came#in a group of five that i think all had a linkshell goin and probably were sharing the outcomes#anyway reading for ppl - especially regulars - is so very interesting#especially when you see how they interact w each other in the club#i feel like a tertiary character you see on like. idk. some tv drama . who is quietly putting pieces together in the background#and saying Nothing#or an NPC in a video game where all the MCs come to ask her for advice but don’t name names or anything like that#and she doesn’t have any dialogue outside of her shop menu dialogue / pre-written fortune/advice scripts#but she is connecting the dots.

your art is beautiful!! your style is so distinct and lovely to look at. excited to one day get a comm from you
side note, would you ever be willing to work on a a commissioned comic? I understand if not, it's a ton of work. regardless your art is beautiful and a full panel comic from you would be a masterpiece
take care ♥️
Thanks! At this time my commissions are closed, but when open I would likely be willing to do probably 3-5 pages max? So suits most people and not a whole series or graphic novel. Sometimes I only have time/energy for a single or few regular non-comic/multipart ones, usually I announce the limits.
#asks#not art#Prices would be completely based off contexts and page amounts but my guess would probably run about $75-150 per page depending#Higher if characters have complex designs or they're fighting and so forth with a lot of different poses and angles#Clients would also need to be able to give feedback and adequate instructions/scripts and not expecting me to wing everything#I say that because I did have people in the past inquire abt this and wanted me to wing everything for OCs I know nothing about

HOW DOES THE CLIENT INITIATE THE PROCESS regarding their construction project?
The client initiates a construction project by defining the project's scope, objectives, and constraints, often through a project initiation document or feasibility study. This includes outlining the project's purpose, parameters, and scope. The client then typically engages with a design team to develop preliminary designs and schematic plans. Once the client approves the design, it's time to release the construction documents and begin the construction phase. They initiate the construction process primarily during the preconstruction phase. A key step involves the release of a Request for Quote (RFQ). This document includes the project design. This sets the groundwork for the build and allows the client to solicit bids from contractors. The client management process becomes more complex for commercial clients with large-scale projects.
As a Project Manager and a Master of Architecture with experience in Project and Design Management in large-scale commercial facilities, multi-story offices, high-rise administration buildings, residential buildings, educational buildings, and industrial buildings, I recognize the significance of efficiently starting a project. When the client begins the process, it usually includes several crucial steps:
Defining the Project Scope: The client should clearly define the objectives, requirements, and constraints of the project. This includes outlining the desired outcomes, budget, timeline, and any specific architectural requirements.
Engaging Stakeholders: The client should identify and engage relevant stakeholders such as end-users, project sponsors, architects, engineers, and other key parties. It's important to understand their needs and expectations from the project.
Selecting the Project Team: The client may be involved in selecting the project team, including architects, designers, engineers, and other professionals. They should ensure that the team has the necessary expertise and experience to deliver the project successfully.
Establishing Communication Channels: The client should set up clear communication channels to facilitate effective collaboration between all project stakeholders. This may involve regular meetings, progress reports, and a centralized platform for sharing project information.
Setting Project Goals and Deliverables: The client needs to work with the project team to establish specific goals, milestones, and deliverables for the project. This includes defining the architectural design requirements, construction phases, and any other project-specific deliverables.
Developing the Project Plan: The client, in collaboration with the project team, should develop a comprehensive project plan that outlines the overall project approach, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: The client should identify potential risks and challenges associated with the project and work with the project team to develop strategies for mitigating these risks.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are considered and addressed is crucial. This includes obtaining necessary permits, adhering to building codes, and meeting any other legal obligations.
Signing the Project Agreement: Once the initial project parameters are defined, the client and the project team should formalize their agreement through a signed contract or agreement that outlines the scope, responsibilities, and terms of the project.
Effective initial steps build a strong foundation, paving the way for successful project delivery.

I actually have a fic idea but lc is a show that's like. you will never ever have all the information and context until the end. and I am a writer who writes best and more confidently when I have all the info and context at my fingertips. so now I'm just like 🧍♂️
anyway. ramble in the tags
#mine musings#not tagging etc etc#it's an AU so it shouldn't even matter actually. but. whatever. i'll still try to write it. it'll take a while#it's more like character exploration anyway. a role reversal (my favorite kind of au)#i.e. what would the emma case look like if cxs is the one who keeps timelooping to save lg?#it's not a power swap or personality swap so i think it'll be an interesting exploration of the limits of their personalities#for example: in this au i think lg is still protective of cxs and acts as the guide. but he's closer to og!timeline lg#so i'm thinking that he's still very principled but perhaps less strict about doing small deviations from the timeline#cxs is still empathetic and reckless and i think that would actually get worse in a timelooping cxs#since he's the possessor he rationalizes to himself that he gets to shield lg from the messy parts of an operation#and how this self-matyrdom pulls at the fragile trust they have. because their partnership is never equal when someone is timelooping#i'm thinking in like the emma case this all comes to a head when emma gets the text from her parents#in S1 lg tells him “it's better not to look”#i think in this au. cxs would have already honed his acting skills and be like “lg. does she check the phone?”#and lg who is protective but a little naive and not as strict with rules is like#cxs looks so sad :( he's been missing his parents lately :( emma doesn't see the text until tomorrow but...#this probably won't change the timeline too much... right? i think cxs needs to feel loved right now :) “yes she checks her phone”#and cxs is like “... are you sure?”#lg: “yes i'm sure”#and then post-dive cxs finds out emma dies but he doesn't tell lg :) he just keeps it to himself :)#bc it's his job to handle all the messy parts :) like the emotions of their clients. their regrets and obsessions. their fates#in his mind. the more lg knows the more he tries to sacrifice himself to save cxs. so it's important that lg is kept in the dark#something something actor/scriptwriter metaphors idk still working on the idea#just. role reversal shiguang... cxs who keeps timelooping bc he has abandonment issues so he can't handle lg dying...#lg basically is like 9S from nier automata who always dooms himself by learning the truth#this could've been a read more instead of a tag essay i'm sorry. i keep forgetting that feature. i am a yapper in the tags#cxs after dragging lg out for dinner so he doesn't catch the news: “hey lg. we followed the script to a tee right?”#“i didn't forget any lines or anything?”#lg (confused) (lying): “yes. aside from getting the financial data part. we did everything right.”#cxs: “okay 😊 i trust you 😊 past or future let them be”

Finlay Friday
13x18: “Sheltered, script extracts pt. 2/2
#CSI#CSI CBS#Finlay Friday#Julie Finlay#DB Russell#Sheltered#my gifs#script extracts#1. I barely remembered this episode but it has some GREAT Finn moments#on re-watch I actually think it’s one of my favourite s13 episodes for her#2. DB and Finn getting emotional over two people making a fresh start#as if that’s not what they’ve been doing for the past 2 seasons lmao idiots#3. your honor she is going to bang that attorney’s journalist client#she hasn’t met him yet but the next time they meet is going to be hilarious#(I love Kate Danson’s face she is SO pretty)#4. I never r e a l l y headcanoned Finn with a child back when it was airing#despite Lisa insisting in the s14 BTS that she’s broody lmao#but re-watching her scenes with Miranda in this episode for the first time I was like#GIVE THIS WOMAN A DAUGHTER ;____;#5. (I feel like thematically all the cases that really get under her skin involve girls/young women)#(obviously Janet Warren but many others too)#(if I tried I could probably meta this all the way back to the doll!daughter in the closet in “Seeing Red”)#(ONE DAY)

Every time I remember that I’m probably autistic it’s like an awakening and everything makes sense and I have the peace of understanding what’s wrong with me. but then for some reason I forget again and start to get confused and devastated trying to make sense of my 100,000,000,0000000 comorbidities
#I have yet to find a therapist though who doesn’t immediately shut it down like naw no way you’re autistic#like you fucking fools obviously I appear normal to you because the therapist client script is one I’m really used to and comfortable with#observe me for 2 min in the outside-of-therapy world and you’ll probably get it

Typical Detail: RC Slab Drop Panel 典型细节: 钢筋混凝土板 Drop Panel by Sonetra KETH

DROP PANELS are reinforced concrete extensions around the top of shear walls, columns, or heavily loaded areas. They are critical elements in seismic and load-resistant structural design. Slab drop panels are thickened areas around columns in flat slab construction, increasing shear strength and enabling the slab to support greater loads. This feature is typical of flat slab systems, which are two-way reinforced structures.
Drop Panels are needed because:
Shear and Moment Resistance: They enhance the capacity of vertical structural elements (shear walls or columns) to resist bending moments and shear forces, especially at the critical junctions (e.g., wall-column interfaces).
Reduce Stress Concentrations: Drop panels distribute concentrated shear and axial loads more evenly into the foundation or diaphragm, preventing stress concentrations and potential structural failure.
Increase Structural Rigidity and Stability: They improve the overall stiffness and robustness where high load or seismic forces are expected, especially in high-rise or seismic zones.

Much engineering judgment is required to reach a sound conclusion on the allowable movements that can be safely tolerated in a tall building. Several factors need to be taken into account. These are:
Type of framing employed for the building
Magnitude of total as well as differential movement
The rate at which the predicted movement takes place
Type of movement, whether the deformation of the soil causes tilting or vertical displacement of the building
Every city has its own particular characteristics regarding the design and construction of foundations for tall buildings, which are characterized by the local geology and groundwater conditions. Their choice for a specific project is primarily influenced by economic and soil conditions, and even under identical conditions, it can vary in different geographical locations.

in other news, Ran Haitani is legally (by contract) not allowed to wear contacts and owns 22 (!!) pairs of glasses with his prescription but they all somehow go missing when it's time for him to sign legally binding contracts as a drafter 🙄
#rindace#thankfully for him (me) i keep a pair of his script in my bag and another pair in my desk for such times#he mostly brings IN clients so he usually doesn't do any of the actual contract work#but SOMETIMES i'm not on the case and he has to sign instead

You get used to your own issues after awhile that someone else's would probably feel foreign even if they're at similar levels of severity. Like why are some worlds in my game inexplicably laggy? Who knows, but some are not so it's just, don't go to the bad ones, problem solved, it isn't bad if you're not experiencing it, except if you are it's horrendous. I made attempts to organize my mods folder for Sims 3, and 2, but both are probably not the best and I still can never find shit when I need to. I think Windows search is just terrible and useless tho. Somehow I had less issues in 3 when I had everything in one folder unsorted and played on the world's worst laptop at minimum graphics with 1 hour load and save times. I used to not care as much, I suppose.
Windows search doesn’t make any sense if I search “hair” it should show me anything that has hair in the name even if the word it finds is chair
1 hour save and load times would kill me on the spot
#the sims has trouble reading sub folders in mods#that’s usually why it has issues#I imitate sub folders by having all my script mods in [brackets] and then it’s alphabetical order in different sections#so my cas items or organized like {CAS-Hair} for example#same with build buy#and then I have a seperate organization system for indual mod creators#but I might even make sub sections for their cas and build buy or their clothes and their shoes#might have it like {CAS-Shoes-1-Madlen} or something#I have a lot of cc clothing items for women for someone who exclusively plays with male sims#I’m gonna be thinking about this while I do a root touch up on my client today for why#my organization gets worse every mod update I swear#neon answers#neon plays the sims

Sorry if I'm mixing you up with someone else, but you've worked security before, right?
If you're willing, I'd be really interested on your thoughts on the murderbot diaries or murderbot as a character with that in mind?
Like did you recognise aspects of your job in murderbots descriptions of security work? Or did they like throw you out of immersion in the story?
Anyway thanks and hope you're having a good day/evening wherever you are!
As a security guard who has read the first two Murderbot books, Murderbot has been the number one most realistic security specialist character I have ever seen in media so far 😭
The third most annoying thing in security in my experience is handling threats. The second most annoying thing is having no threats to handle and being bored. The number one most annoying thing is the client being an idiot
Ihave social anxiety which I am medicated for. When I am in uniform with clear instructions, that anxiety is zero. I have a script and a set of rules and that makes life easy. I’m super good at performing tasks with clear expectations and that’s kinda how I keep getting good offers, it’s super straightforward
Bad clients are clients who give stupid, inefficient, counterproductive, cruel, or flat-out illegal orders. There are ways of shutting that shit down without them losing heir shit, but it’s still a pain in the ass every time
I’m a security specialist. I specialize in security. This is what I am trained for- handling crisis situations and minimizing harm. If you, an off-shift cashier at pet smart, see me deescalating a situation and decide you’re gonna drop your untrained uninformed ass in there with zero context or skills and “help” because I look small and helpless, then all you’re doing is increasing my likelihood of getting hurt while increasing my paperwork load by like two hours, and I’m gonna hate you the entire time. What you have essentially done is promoted me to meat shield while giving the aggressor I’m calming down an obnoxious and aggravating hostage. Good god please do not
Yes, I am sometimes asked to stand perfectly still in a corner for several hours like a mannequin. What do I do to avoid going insane? Think about Star Trek and the very good fanfiction I’ll be reading on my break, mostly
Yes I can assist in evacuating tw location in the event of an environmental disaster. No I cannot tell my waiter that they put cilantro on the wrong order. Yes this makes perfect sense
I love Murderbot. I love how realistic it is. Like obviously I can’t speak for everyone in the industry but yeah I’ve worked for absolute dogshit security companies in the past and yeah a lot of the books so far are super accurate to that experience so A+ so far, honestly
#Murderbot#the Murderbot diaries#teablart#Honestly I would never want to BE a security guard like Murderbot cause it seems really unhappy with it’s position in life#and it’s ‘employers’ understandably#But it seems like a partner I’d really enjoy working with#Feels like annoying chatter would be at a minimum and tasks would still get passably done#It might hate me though#I’m a bit neurotic and tend to care too much about following rules and doing well#I think about the job too much#Murderbot I could see being much happier as an EMT#Or a park ranger#I don’t know if Murderbot would be happiest doing guard work even if it had personhood and a choice#Even me… I think I’m mostly here cause it’s what I know#I think a lot of people live like that#doing what we know#whether or not it makes us happy
