Ok so - I know Patriot , Navalny's memoir, isn't available in russia, but is there a way to get it to people? I know sales are important but it's more important to get Navalny's words to russia.

because sometimes there are invisible tests and invisible rules and you're just supposed to ... know the rule. someone you thought of as a friend asks you for book recommendations, so you give her a list of like 30 books, each with a brief blurb and why you like it. later, you find out she screenshotted the list and send it out to a group chat with the note: what an absolute freak can you believe this. you saw the responses: emojis where people are rolling over laughing. too much and obsessive and actually kind of creepy in the comments. you thought you'd been doing the right thing. she'd asked, right? an invisible rule: this is what happens when you get too excited.

you aren't supposed to laugh at your own jokes, so you don't, but then you're too serious. you're not supposed to be too loud, but then people say you're too quiet. you aren't supposed to get passionate about things, but then you're shy, boring. you aren't supposed to talk too much, but then people are mad when you're not good at replying.

you fold yourself into a prettier paper crane. since you never know what is "selfish" and what is "charity," you give yourself over, fully. you'd rather be empty and over-generous - you'd rather eat your own boundaries than have even one person believe that you're mean. since you don't know what the thing is that will make them hate you, you simply scrub yourself clean of any form of roughness. if you are perfect and smiling and funny, they can love you. if you are always there for them and never admit what's happening and never mention your past and never make them uncomfortable - you can make up for it. you can earn it.

don't fuck up. they're all testing you, always. they're tolerating you. whatever secret club happened, over a summer somewhere - during some activity you didn't get to attend - everyone else just... figured it out. like they got some kind of award or examination that allowed them to know how-to-be-normal. how to fit. and for the rest of your life, you've been playing catch-up. you've been trying to prove that - haha! you get it! that the joke they're telling, the people they are, the manual they got- yeah, you've totally read it.

if you can just divide yourself in two - the lovable one, and the one that is you - you can do this. you can walk the line. they can laugh and accept you. if you are always-balanced, never burdensome, a delight to have in class, champagne and glittering and never gawky or florescent or god-forbid cringe: you can get away with it.

you stare at your therapist, whom you can make jokes with, and who laughs at your jokes, because you are so fucking good at people-pleasing. you smile at her, and she asks you how you're doing, and you automatically say i'm good, thanks, how are you? while the answer swims somewhere in your little lizard brain:

i will say im not super invested in the idea of the show giving us too much information on c&a. like itll be super cool if we find out about it! and im sure itll be relevant information if we do but i think the information we get is going to be not super indepth, because im not sure itd match the tone of the show? its less about mystery and like The Lore and more about the characters and examining how different characters respond and have been responding to the environment set up by the show

(it WOULD be fun to learn more details about c&a and i AM curious i just dont think itd actually enhance much abt the show itself, and as such, i dont think its super important writing wise for the audience to learn about it either)

that SAID i do ascribe to the idea that ALL of the cast members worked for c&a before the ended up in the circus, no exceptions. i dont really know how say gangle or zooble wouldve ended up there, but i feel like they all ended up there one way or another. and i think most of the cast doesnt talk about their life in the real world bc its gone and theres no reason to dredge it up (or theyve forgotten it or most aspects of it), but it does make it fascinating that not even pomni, who has the least reason to avoid these topics at least early on, broached the subject of what in the WORLD is c&a UP to. it literally is never brought up ever as of ep 4. which makes me think the company was probably always super shady in some way to the pt that its employees were kinda desensitized to the idea that its c&as fault that horrible things happen

I definitely needed Germany to win that match bc I NEED Rin to get worse and ruin his own life and make himself everyone else's problem but ALSO

I definitely think the next arc, whatever it may be, will suck for everyone in some capacity. Isagi's arc has been riding a high since the U20 arc. It's been super fun and satisfying to see but because his arc has been going up and up and up I can only imagine that it's about to come crashing down SOME how. Not sure how but I just don't think the next arc will ride the same high.

That being said I don't think it'll be just him. Obviously Rin is gonna lose his shit even more. Nagi is gonna continue to flop (I'm betting on Spain beating England for the same reasons I needed Germany to beat France PLEASE) whether he wins this match or not I still think he'll be one of The Main Issues for the final big arc alongside Rin (interpersonal and emotional and narrative thematic conflicts of the story).

Chigiri and Kunigami I mean, clearly there's unresolved shit there. Rin's internal issues are one thing but the Itoshi Brothers story is a whole other thing also and it's gonna get really ugly before it gets better. Bachira I'm unsure what direction it'll take. He's that positive constant that grounds Isagi so I wonder if he'll continue to be that or if the roles will switch somehow bc we have no clue how Bachira is doing right now but we know how Isagi is doing and it's probably about time he gives Bachira some courage.

But yeah all that to say I definitely think everyone is about to sink LOW and THEN we reach the end of the story where it'll be good again.

That is, if Kaneshiro doesn't hate his manga.
