Hey writeblr, I made an author template on Notion. I've been using Notion to organize my WIPs for a couple of years now and thought some people might like the system I've developed for myself, so I made it available on my ko-fi shop! (the icons I used are also by me and also available on the shop ^^)

When I began putting my thoughts and ideas together to begin writing a story, I noticed how scattered my notes felt. I would start with an idea, backtrack due to being struck with a new idea, and then lose my place and my progress. I decided to make a Notion template to help me finish some of my stories and bring life to my ideas.
This Notion writing template was created to provide a structured step-by-step approach to the writing process equipped with Activity Schedulers, Progress Trackers, comprehensive Character Profiles, in-depth Worldbuilding Profiles, and databases for the Outline, Drafts, and Scene Cards. Going step-by-step is not imperative for experienced writers. The procedural layout has been implemented to help new writers make a start beginning with creating a writing prompt to starting their first draft. It's optimized for new writers, experienced writers, fanfic writers, and hobbyists.

✧ how i stay productive during summer break (while still having fun!) ✧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hey lovelies! ✨
summer break is finally here and honestly? it's my favorite time to both relax and get things done. i know that sounds contradictory but trust me, finding that sweet balance between productivity and fun is totally possible! after years of either doing absolutely nothing or burning myself out, i've finally found my perfect summer rhythm.
first things first: the morning routine ✨
i've learned that my day flows so much better when i start it intentionally. i wake up around 8 or 9 (not too early because we deserve some extra sleep!), make my bed immediately (small win!), and spend 15 minutes journaling before checking my phone. this tiny habit has literally changed everything for me.
my summer morning essentials:
iced coffee with oat milk and a tiny bit of vanilla
a cute journal that makes me excited to write in it
10 minutes of stretching by my window
a super quick skincare routine (sunscreen is non-negotiable!)
creating a flexible structure 🤍
the secret to summer productivity is having just enough structure without feeling trapped. i divide my days into three parts:
morning: productive focus time (2-3 hours max) afternoon: flexible time for errands, friends, or projects evening: pure relaxation and fun
this way, i never feel like i'm missing out or falling behind. the key is being realistic about what you can actually accomplish in a day. i used to make these impossible to-do lists and then feel awful when i couldn't finish them.
my productivity non-negotiables:
i always make sure to do at least one productive thing each day, even if it's small. some of my favorites:
reading 20 pages of a book
organizing one small area of my room
working on a creative project for 30 minutes
learning something new for my blog
planning content or taking photos
balancing productivity with summer fun ✨
here's my little secret: schedule your fun just like you schedule your work! this sounds silly but it actually helps me look forward to both. some of my favorite summer activities that feel refreshing but don't derail my productivity:
morning walks with an audiobook
afternoon picnics where i can also read or brainstorm
coffee shop work dates with friends
sunset swims after a productive day
weekend day trips that recharge my creativity
my favorite productivity tools:
a paper planner (something about writing things down just works better for me)
the forest app to stay off my phone when focusing
aesthetic notion templates for organizing my projects
time blocking in my calendar with cute colors
lo-fi summer playlists that help me concentrate
remembering the why 🤍
summer isn't just about getting things done or having the perfect instagram moments. it's about growing, reflecting, and creating memories that will make you smile in december when it's freezing outside. productivity should support your joy, not replace it!
i've found that my happiest summer days are when i accomplish something meaningful in the morning and then have the freedom to be spontaneous in the afternoon and evening. balance isn't perfect every day, and that's okay too.
what are your favorite ways to stay productive during summer break? i'd love to hear your tips too!
xoxo, mindy 🤍

my goals for the year :)
This will most definitely change. But directionally, here's what we've got:
🌻 Create a garden on my balcony: I've been thinking of growing tomato plants on my south-facing balcony for a couple years now. I've been aspiring towards working with plants. Now I need to go beyond watering a houseplant and wringing my hands when they start killing themselves and dying.
🎨 Paint my coffee table and decorate it: I really enjoyed painting my "community chairs" with my friends last year and they've become one of my favourite things in the apartment. Let's keep going; I got a coffee table off Facebook Marketplace for $25.
📖 Start and finish the Artist's Way: I'd like to get to a point where drawing and writing feel very natural, very joyful, and feels more honest. I'm very used to trying to operationalize my creative process. This probably needs the sort of spiritual healing that people seem to get from Julia Cameron's Artist's Way.
🫂 Make intergenerational friends: I don't hang out with enough babies and I don't hang out with enough grannies. That's a lot of joy and wisdom I'm missing out on! Not to mention delicious food. Plus my skill in being able to connect devices to Wi-Fi is most appreciated by this demographic.
🧘 Find better ways to release stress that actually release stress: I do a lot of activities that are supposed to release stress. But I am still a very stressed person, so I think I'm probably not doing the right things.
✌️Maintain my emotional vibe: Basically regulating my emotions better. Get in tune with urge surfing. But also if I'm feeling joyful, to share it with other people and worry less about its appropriateness.
🦜 Talk to more people whose work I find interesting: I'm shy to talk to people about their work but I want to know what possibilities are out there beyond making slide decks that are marginally interesting and poorly researched lol.
🎹 Pick up music again with guitar or with jamming with my band: I miss that spiky, focused feeling of jamming with other people. I'd also like to do some structured learning of an instrument. Probably piano or guitar.
✏️ Write my blog posts with less polish, more curiosity: More rigor on research, more googling, more interesting examples. Spend more time digging around instead of stuck wondering how to phrase something. Focus less on voice and style. This will come naturally with reading more and taking walks and talking to interesting people.
📚 Study more: I need to read up. I am foolish and not proud of it! I'd like to read more, engage with what I'm reading more, and take some classes. Probably about data analysis and design.
💡Try new things in my career: Writing this blog has been really fun and rewarding, but I think experimenting with other mediums will also be fruitful. Maybe trying out YouTube again or reviving the poetry podcast, or drawing on greeting cards; I just want to try something that I can fuck up and then learn from. I'm also thinking about how my 9-5 job shapes all of this exploration.
🥕 Figure out a food system: Get better at managing the admin / planning side of cooking: groceries, ingredient prep, meal planning, nutrition planning. I feel like I can reduce a lot of my food-related stress by planning more effectively.
I wrote more about this on my substack. And if you'd like to see how I'm keeping track you can check out my Notion template :)

intro to my fame dr!
Tumblr media
so, a bit of backstory…i had planned a fame dr wayyy before i started really getting into shifting properly (a.k.a. when i only had a streamer dr and was looking at templates to add to my notion). i had forgotten about it, but as of late, i’ve been really into sabrina carpenter, and i realized that i could frame my fame dr around that instead of whatever the fuck i had before! it was a hot mess of a script anyways…
BASIC INFO…
Tumblr media
name: amani hamilton
age: 24 (as of late 2023)
occupation: singer, actress, model, choreographer
likes: photography, escape rooms, baking, pilates, routines, theatre, video games, streaming, afterparties
inspirations: beyoncé, zendaya, ariana grande, victoria monét, janet jackson
significant other: sabrina carpenter
movies/tv shows i’m in: euphoria, bottoms, outer banks, on my block, bodies bodies bodies, grand army
OVERVIEW…
Tumblr media
sooo basically this is my way of living a very drama-filled, chaotic life in the music industry. i do realize that it will inevitably be annoying to deal with, but i wanna have fun with it. me and sabrina are gonna meet at an afterparty the day i shift, and it’s just gonna be the typical friends to lovers with a bit of secret dating sprinkled in 😋 and i’ll be living my best life creating choreography for my favorite songs here. i don’t really have much scripted in terms of “plot” but i might just see what happens.
honestly i have no idea how people make these posts so long…🤕 i can yap in real life, but writing is a hurdle that is hard to jump for me! (even though i’m a creative writing major.)
BYE! HAPPY SHIFTING :)

Hey. I made a thing.
Your new writing headquarters! (Perhaps. Maybe.) It keeps all your projects in one place, with spaces for characters, worldbuilding, plotting, inspiration, resources etc etc.
The design is intuitive and not too crowded. You have enough to worry about in your writing, clicking through hundreds of gdocs to find one piece of information should not be one of them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tl;dr: It’s structured, aesthetic, and made by someone who’s been writing for years. (It me. Hi.)

2 Weeks in Tumblr
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's been two weeks since I've started Tumblr and with almost 100 followers. I've got everyone to thank for the amazing growth I’ve had here. It's different from Pinterest, X, or Instagram—socials that I’ve also used for my media presence. Those platforms often rely on 'hacks' to achieve the kind of growth I’m experiencing, but Tumblr? I love this platform.
Actually, I’m not a first-timer on Tumblr. I used this platform back in elementary school to read stories and look at art. Some of the things I stumbled across were pretty interesting, I tell you, but I never thought I’d one day turn to it as a creative outlet in my life as a student. Back then, it was just a place of discovery. Now, it’s something much more.
Here I am today, posting my moodboards, sharing things that make me happy, and diving into creative projects. Before Tumblr, I’d been busy filming reels, selling planners, and creating Notion templates. I’ve always loved being creative and sharing it with others, but somehow, Tumblr feels different. It’s not just about the hustle or the perfect algorithm hack. It’s about the connections you make and the freedom to be unapologetically yourself. The way people interact here—reblogging with their own thoughts, creating tags that feel like little personal notes, or even just liking a post because it resonates—it’s a kind of engagement I didn’t know I was missing on other platforms. Tumblr feels less like a stage and more like a cozy living room where everyone’s swapping ideas, creativity, and snippets of their lives.
The creative energy on this platform is absolutely contagious. I've found myself experimenting more with my designs, writing snippets of stories inspired by reblogs, and diving into fandoms I hadn’t explored in years. It’s like the Tumblr of my childhood has grown up with me, and I’m rediscovering it through a whole new lens. The best part? The encouragement I get here feels real. Every like and reblog is a tiny cheer from someone who gets it, who’s part of the same quirky, passionate community.
So, as I reflect on these two weeks, I can’t help but feel excited for what’s to come. I’m eager to keep growing, not just in follower count, but in the way I share, connect, and create. Tumblr isn’t just another social platform—it’s becoming a creative home for me, a place where I can thrive without the pressure to be perfect. To everyone who’s been a part of this journey so far, thank you. Here’s to more moodboards, musings, and moments of joy to come!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
After taking a "blog break," I’m excited to start sharing some of the projects I’ve been working on during my time away! One of the highlights is a custom widget I created for Notion—a photocard featuring my favorite band, PLAVE. This widget is perfect for fellow PLAVE fans (Plli), allowing them to display a "fanmade" photocard of their favorite band members right on their Notion pages.
I began this project not only to celebrate my love for PLAVE but also to dive deeper into the world of Notion widgets and explore what’s possible.
Let’s dive into the details of how I built it and the creative process behind it!
Tumblr media
I started this project back in May, right after I discovered PLAVE in April! Around that time, I started following a 'photocard editor' on Twitter who creates these fantastic 'unofficial' collectible photocards of PLAVE. I fell in love with her edits immediately. I was also using Notion extensively to keep my Korean studies organized, so I thought, why not combine my passion for Korean learning with my love for PLAVE?
Tumblr media
I wanted to create a public widget that other PLAVE fans could easily add into their own Notion pages. To be respectful and ensure proper credit, I reached out to the editor, Jane, to ask if I could use her edits in my widget. I explained my project idea and shared some Figma wireframes to show how the widget would look and function. Jane was excited about the concept and gave me her blessing to move forward. I didn’t start any programming until I had her approval!
Tumblr media
For this project, I needed to create two main components: the widget itself and a webpage with information and installation instructions. Surprisingly, the info and installation page turned out to be more challenging than developing the widget! I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I wanted to ensure the page was user-friendly, responsive, and easy to navigate. It was tougher than I wished for!
Tumblr media
As for the widget, it was relatively straightforward to develop and only took me about two days. However, I did face some issues with broken links that I still need to fix, and I’m not quite sure why they’re not working. Usually, I’m a ReactJS enthusiast, but since this was a smaller project, I decided to use my "beginner combo": HTML, CSS (including SCSS), and JavaScript. I quickly realized how accustomed I’ve become to ReactJS because I kept writing code that didn’t work in Vanilla JavaScript—talk about a wake-up call!
In the end, I completed the project to a point where it was ready to present to both the PLLIs (PLAVE fans) and Jane. I found myself eagerly awaiting Jane’s feedback because her artwork was integral to the project. If she wasn’t happy with the outcome, I would have felt the same. Thankfully, she loved it! I officially posted the widget on Twitter/X, and Jane shared it as well. Although most of the users were Korean, reading their translated positive comments made me genuinely happy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who knows? Maybe in the future, I’ll work on another PLAVE-themed project. I really enjoyed creating this one!
Tumblr media
Feel free to check out the project and try installing the widget on your Notion page:
The official tweet about the project
The installation page

fyi, it still needs work, I will get to it eventually~~~!
