#different mechanics and lore

thinking about Aphmau characters in a dnd-esque setting and made a few in dndbeyond using the 2024 ruleset

here's the characters I've done so far:

Aphmau - Aasimar - lvl 10 Ranger(2)/Warlock(Celestial patron, 8) - Wayfarer background - Chaotic Good 14 str, 14 dex, 13 con, 12 int, 14 wis, 15 cha An urchin on the streets of Phoenix Drop, a small coastal town, who accidentally gets the attention of a divine entity who commands her to help protect the region as an Adventurer, leading her to start putting a team together to help her

Zenix - Human - lvl 8 Rogue(Thief) - Criminal background - Chaotic Neutral 12 str, 16 dex, 13 con, 14 int, 13 wis, 14 cha genuinely just a little shit. an urchin on the streets of Phoenix Drop who steals to survive, and sometimes also for fun. Completely by accident, he gets himself wrapped up in the adventuring business when Aphmau starts putting a team together

Garroth - Human - lvl 14 Paladin(Oath of Devotion) - Noble background - Lawful Neutral 18 str, 10 dex, 14 con, 12 int, 12 wis, 15 cha Originally, he swore his oath to his younger brother, the heir to O'khasis, but after both of them abandoned their home, they were suddenly recruited by an ambitious new adventurer to join her team, accepting without any other real options

Zane - Human - lvl 13 Cleric(Grave Domain, 10)/Warlock(Fiend patron, 3) - Noble background - Neutral 8 str, 10 dex, 12 con, 15 int, 16 wis, 18 cha The former heir of O'khasis who may or may not have made a deal with a literal devil (oops). On the run with his other brother and sworn protector, eventually getting recruited to a newly forming adventurer's group

Laurance - Half-elf (woodland elf) - lvl 10 rogue(Arcane Trickster, 4)/fighter(Eldritch Knight, 6) - Merchant background - Chaotic Good 12 str, 15 dex, 13 con, 14 int, 11 wis, 16 cha A charming merchant's son from Meteli, also extremely cursed. He was driven from his hometown because of the destructive nature of the magic he was cursed with, eventually being accepted into the little adventurer's group in Phoenix Drop

Katelyn - Human - lvl 12 Monk(Warrior of the Elements, 8)/Barbarian (Berserker, 4) - Soldier background - Lawful Neutral 16 str, 16 dex, 14 con, 13 int, 14 wis, 10 cha A former guard in O'khasis, was dismissed after the sudden death of her closest friend, now caring for his daughter in the quiet town of Phoenix Drop. Until that daughter disappeared one night, and Katelyn was scouted by the newly gathering adventurer's group

Aaron - Human(??) - lvl 14 Barbarian(Wild Heart) - Noble background - Neutral 16 str, 15 dex, 15 con, 14 int - 13 wis, 10 cha Doesn't live in or even near Phoenix Drop, a feral man living in the tundra to the south who gets picked up by the group a little later on their adventures. Once, he was the Lord of a prosperous town, until a fateful night that the whole town either vanished or died. Rumours say the former lord is cursed with lycanthropy and killed them all himself in a blind rage

That's all I've got for the moment. Gonna make more later, also might turn it into a fanfic, idk

I have no idea if this is actually gonna go anywhere, but it was fun.

anyway, let me know what classes/subclasses I should make other characters cuz I am 100% making more of these it's very fun

if i had a nickel for every time i played a remedy game that featured courtney hope’s character trying to get to a world-altering polyhedron in a universe where humans wear special harnesses to survive a world-ending threat, i’d have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's sure weird that it's happened twice

"the zelda timeline is bullshitted and fake and-" wind waker and phantom hourglass and spirit tracks are all direct sequels of each other. the games themselves say this. adventure of link is a direct sequel to LOZ. the games and guidebooks that came with it say this. link to the past was made as a prequel to explain how the triforce came to be in the state it was in in LOZ. the games and guidebook say this. ocarina of time was then made as a prequel to this game. also links awakening, as per in-game story and guidebooks, is the same link as the one from alttp. but then majoras mask was made as a sequel to ocarina of time, even if it conflicted with the events of link to the past, which suggests the whole time travel thing had some consequences. twilight princess, with the execution of ganondorf and the literal hero of time teaching you the way of the sword, is then pretty safely assumed to follow some time after ocarina of time. the oracle games feature twinrova attempting to resurrect their son, but summon ganon instead, telling us that it AT LEAST has to take place after ocarina of time and before LOZ. skyward sword pretty solidly establishes itself as the very beginning of hyrule, so has to happen before everything else.

its literally only the handheld games and the actual timespans where the timeline wobbles. the vast majority of it makes perfect sense. timeline haters simply have only actually played 2 games at best (one of which being botw) and then read some salty tumblr posts.

Some doodles for my own TMA / Mechanisms Crossover!! Not my favorite set of doodles but I wanted to get the concept out there.

I'm writing a fic for this au >:] Technically, a oneshot exists out there, but ya'll will just have to find it lol.

I love all the 'The Mechanisms were Jonathan Sims's College Band' aus on ao3, so I wanted to take a shot at one of my own.

TS/Nikola (outside of the horrors) is an aspiring makeup artist during Uni and goes professional later on. Love it for that. Also, Toy is the first person Jon meets out of the band.

Jon has gone through 3 million hair lengths in a single decade. He started short, had a bit of a nonbinary awakening and grew it out for a while, cut it again after breaking up with Georgie, grew it out again (mostly because he experienced a few horrors earlier than planned, hence the scars on his neck), and then cut and straightened it when he became Archivist. He will grow it out again, trust.

In this AU, Jon loses touch with the Mechs after Uni and only reconnects with them because Jordan/GPTim showed up at the Magnus Institute for an unrelated reason and ran into Research Era Jon. That was a very fun conversation to have.

I like giving them (The Mechs) all a little star motif because I wanted them to have some sort of subtle rep of their friendship that they can have around in their daily lives without drawing too much attention.

Personal opinion from here on out :]

If I can recall what the video said, I think it’s mostly because Omegaverse originated in queer fanfiction spaces and it’s used to explore the dynamics, power and relationship outside of a typical straight structures? So if the characters are straight then they feel like it’s just making Omegaverse more conventional and mainstream instead of focusing on the unique aspect

Another thing is probably because the view male alpha/female omega pairings the same in Omegaverse, just exaggerated, which kind of defeat the purpose of gender role subversion. There were a few examples in the comments sections that made me want to wash my brain HFJSJDJSJS (aka it’s bad examples)

I feel like people forgotten that Omegaverse is more than just sex, yk. And all of them are missing the point of the third gender, Beta. There’s more interesting dynamics to explore besides mpreg, what about scenting? Courtships? Pack dynamics? As much as straight relationship being the same; heat cycles, ruts, unexpected gender reveal or anything can still make the dynamic interesting

You may not like a male alpha/female omega dynamic, but that doesn’t make the story or the creation any less Omegaverse

At the end of the day, it’s a matter of preference. I feel like when it comes to creation, there’s no way to appeal to anyone. No matter how perfect an apple is, someone out there is still going to hate it and dump it into fire. So really, just write or do what you like

You know the worst part is I have already actively considered this. I was thinking about whether or not to add in the KH1 Sephiroth fight in LLM and ngl? Ngl.

I love when Vanitas gets his ass handed to him. I love when he underestimates his opponents. He is used to being the biggest shark in the universal waters, even if he isn't stupid.

So sure, he'll look at Sephiroth and that sizeable amount of Darkness and think "oh, a challenge". Then he'd fuck around and find out.

In the Coliseum setting where the whole point is... it's not supposed to be a fight to the death, he'd likely win by the skin of his teeth after a handful of attempts. And be bitter as hell about it, too.

In a less controlled setting? It's not that I think he doesn't have the power to take Sephiroth on, Keyblade Wielders obviously do if a fourteen year old newbie can. That said, I love when Vanitas just, loses solely due to expecting shit to be easy. He expects to overwhelm his targets.

Overconfidence would lead to Vanitas being a smear in the dirt in a one and done battle scenario. Given the chance to come back again and again, however? To take the fight seriously?

I'd give him 50/50 odds on winning.

-Animal person -doesn't like being alone (stress is always increasing if no other people in world) -Starvation doesn't hurt right away -mental health is different (stress/anxiety). -hates touching gross/slimey things

"Favorite" food: fruit medley

Info below: (it may be lengthy, oops)

Feels better around animals. Their stress lowers when near them. Tames beefalo a bit faster. Can tame tallbirds that they raise. Animals that usually run away from the survivors don't run away from them unless they hit them. Critters in their inventory lower their stress. Because they are an animal person, killing animals increases their stress (regardless who kills them.) They just don't like seeing animals die even if it's necessary.

When their hunger runs out, there's a small amount of time  before it starts to drain their health. It takes about 15 seconds.

When it comes to "stress."(I know what sanity is in dst, I just wanted something different for them.) They take damage if it's too high. Their stomach is also "full" when it's high. World looks more like scribbles when it's high too. When stress is high, they are not good at attacking or working. They are able to attack and work regularly as long as it doesn't get "high enough." They also won't eat if stress is high.

They get very stressed out when picking up gross/slimey things. Includes manure, any form of rot, slurtle slime, honey(it's sticky,) etc.

They don't mind being wet, so they don't get stressed from wetness. They do hate having to deal with their glasses getting messed up from being wet, so they are completely neutral to wetness.

It takes a while for heat to affect them. They hate the cold, and freeze easily. Low temperature that can seem managable to the others is cold for them. They prefer sitting by the fire pit during the winter. They like to stay put, and refuse to move away from the warmth. Unlessitstheholidaysthentheyllmakeanexception

Voice: Clarinet (Using the high notes. sometimes goes loud to soft because they struggle with their voice volume sometimes.)

A few extra things:

They don't like eggs and will not eat them. Includes eggs, tallbird eggs, tall scotch eggs, bacon and eggs, plain omelette, breakfast skillet, barnacle nigiri. Other than that, they'll eat anything.

They have apiphobia. They are terrified of bees. Being near one(or their hives) always increases stress. (Even the sound of their buzzing stresses them out.)

They do know how to swim and can do so if needed. They don't really want to though, and prefer to do it only when they have to.

They leave their big bag of belongings in their tent. They tend to instead use a backpack since they don't want something happening to their things. The backpack they use is the rabbit rucksack!

They love soft things! It helps with stress. Soft textures are their favorite! So are smooth textures.

They start off very shy and cautious at first, but slowly warm up to the other survivors. Going from feeling really bummed, low, and reserved to... being in a better mood. They smile a lot more, speak their mind more and are less hard on themself.

They picked up on the fact that everyone's names start with w. They decided to go by "Weardrop." It was just for shits and giggles, but then they ended up actually liking it and it just stuck.

They're from our modern times. They got pulled into the Constant three days ago. They were gifted their grandparents' antique radio when their grandparents moved away. They take advantage that they're from the modern times by confusing the survivors with our modern slang.

Some info:

She's Russian

She's sort-of an android. Her human conscious was placed into a man-made body to make her a super soldier. She doesn't remember anything of her life before.

She has a "dummy plug" ai that her superiors can use to remotely control her if need be. (Neon genesis evangelion reference)(the dummy plugs in-world name will be a sukuna and yuji reference)(<- on account of her still being aware of everything while being remote controlled)

Her insides are blue.

I think she's really cool.
