You absolutely 100% do not have to fill every prompt! You are welcome to pick and choose the ones you enjoy.

And if you reach the end of September and haven't finished? That's fine! Keep writing! Keep posting! Keep using the sicktember 2024 hashtag! The AO3 collection remains open until August of the following year.

Answering some questions from the interest check form

Thanks for the enthusiastic response to the interest check form so far! We'll be keeping it open for a while so feel free to continue to express your thoughts on the event.

Answers to some of the questions that have been submitted through the form:

How accessible the event will be: how long will we have to make things, are there limits or expected word count etc?

There is no expected word count and no word limit, and you can earn points for any fic you post. HOWEVER there are additional points you can earn for incremental word count starting at 1k. TL;DR there are no expectations but there are goals.

I would suggest making it like, full points for first fic and then partial points for any subsequent fics for the same prompt to make a fic not seem worthless? And maybe making "first" be the whole day? Those are just suggestions though

The FASTEST FINGERS FIRST bonus will apply separately from the points you receive for posting a fic and for word count. So you can still earn a lot of points just by posting, even if you aren't the fastest! We're hoping this balances out for longer works that people want to spend more time and energy on as well. :)

You are also free to post both one-shots and multi-chapters, but points will scale differently for both. More information about the point matrix will be made available closer to the event!

Can I participate if I didn't fill out the interest check?/Is the interest check mandatory?

The interest check is not mandatory, but appreciated. The interest check is only there to see if the week is worth running and getting people's opinions on prompts and posting dates. The interest check is now closed, but we appreciate all who submitted responses!

How much do I have to participate?

As much or as little as you want! There are no word counts or restrictions. 10k full chapter fic? Love it! 100 word oneshot? Love it! Fully rendered art? Love it! Doodle in the margins of your notebook? You'll never guess. LOVE IT! All we ask is that anyone who filled out the interest check with a "Yes, I will participate" please post for at least one day.

Are late posts accepted?

Yes, late posts will be reblogged. The DrarryWeek2025 tag will be monitored until January 31, 2025. After that? Just @ us and we'll reblog it, no matter how late. Life happens, we understand.

hi mods i have a subterfuge question! :D for this event, how do we balance our AU settings with those of other muns' muses? would most threads be AU muse + normal muse or AU muse + AU muse? just wondering if in this case we can only have 1 muse go AU first and the other transform more slowly afterwards. it'd be neat for normal muses to meet AU versions of their friends, but seems like once your muses starts changing you can't reverse the process, so the AU'd muse wouldn't react as much to their normal friend turning AU after them. (sorry if this is confusing i can clarify if it's too convoluted a question!)

I'll be honest and say that I'm not 100% sure what you're asking, BUT I'm going to try my best here ASDFGHJ

If you're asking if there would be a way for someone who was fully assimilated to notice their friends being different through the lens of thinking their old personality is the "real" one, then no. However, if a character is fully assimilated into their inverted AU, their perception of other characters would be that they should "already" be inverted and they remember them as they should be as if they were fully inverted.

So if one of their friends was behaving normally (as in they aren't showing many signs of inversion), a fully inverted character would find that weird and would think something was wrong with them still.

Alternatively, you could have your character mostly inverted but not entirely so. Think of the inversion process as a progress bar! They don't fully lose their memories of how things "should" be until they hit the 100% mark. You could write your character at the 90% mark where they're mostly inverted but still have their sense of how things "should" be, so you could plausibly have best of both worlds that way?

If you've already fully inverted them, you could just set any other threads before that point since chronology isn't tied to the order you post starters in or anything!

Hopefully I'm understanding this properly!

What characters qualify? - Yelena Belova - James "Bucky" Barnes - Alexei Shostakov - John Walker - Robert "Bob" Reynolds / Sentry / The Void - Ava Starr - Valentina Allegra de Fontaine Any and all relationships featuring at least one of these characters/actors are allowed! Including poly, moresomes, etc.

** if requesting/offering RPF, the actor/actress of these characters also counts as your 'one' needed (so requesting Florence Pugh is the equivalent of requesting Yelena, even though they are different and one is not listed here) **

Are crossovers allowed? Yes! But you are encouraged to make at least one fully Marvel request to improve your chances of being paired!

What is a 'Ship and Let Ship' event? It essentially is a 'don't like, don't read/write' situation, where requesters and writers are allowed to engage in the content they want and like, regardless of how it's viewed or handled in a real-world situation. This can be as small as Real Person Fiction (RPF) shippers or on a more extreme end like monster-fucking or incest. No judgment or harassment will be tolerated. It really is as easy as... don't like it? Ignore it. You will not be paired with things outside your stated comfort zone.

What goes in the 'Description' section of the sign-up form? The only thing required is any Do Not Wants, but it's highly encouraged to include more, like preferences, prompts, etc. There is a space to link a letter if you'd prefer that, too. This is also where you should 'opt-in' to any problematic content you'd be comfortable receiving.

Are treats allowed? Yes! As long as they meet the requester's DNWs. They do not need to meet the minimum word count or due date. You also do not need to be signed up to give a treat!

Will there be pinch-hit/pinch-hitters? Of course! Anyone is welcome to claim a pinch-hit, which will be posted on both Tumblr and Dreamwidth as they come up.

What should I do about tight deadlines? If you are worried you won't be able to complete your request, please default and reach out to a mod as soon as possible. A small extension can be given, but pinch-hitters will need time before the reveal if you are unable to meet that timeline either.

Hey there! Back in 2020 I, @echoghost1, decided to challenge myself and write 12 fics based of a 12 different winter & holiday prompts.

I was very productive that year and was able to do it! You can read it here if you like

It was so much fun I figured the more the merrier and made it a lil event open for other's to join!

I made this blog, got a AO3 collection, and for the last three years I've kept it going!

When is it?

It runs from December 12th until December 23rd

To help give everyone plenty of time and wiggle room, the prompt list will (hopefully) be posted on the 1st of December and you have until January 1st to finish, be reblogged, and added to the AO3 collection (if you've got something I can add to that)!

It is the holidays and finals season, so I don’t want anyone to feel too pressured with deadlines

I will queue up the entries on the day off the prompt or after it passes, so feel free to make and post stuff whenever.

I will give updates on the progress of the calendar as we get closer to December.

If it is not going to be ready by the first, I will have a post about it and give my best guess as to when it actually will be ready by.

What is The 12 Days of Fic-mas?

A short little Danny Phantom prompt-based event for those winter holiday vibes! One one-word prompt a day to fill however you please!

You can write (what I’ll be doing) or draw or make a song or whatever creative thing you can think of!

Why is it 12?

Honestly? It’s just because of the 12 days of Christmas song.

Is this just a Christmas thing?

Is there an ao3 collection or tag we're using?

There is a collection! It is not required to post to it since the event only requires posts for raffle entries be accessible to me simply to verify them, but everyone can find it linked on the event's carrd or directly here!

... I was also going to say 'there's no official AO3 tag but you can use-' however I am ENTIRELY INCORRECT because fun fact: there is an AO3 tag: 'Wondrous Tails of Final Fantasy XIV (Tumblr Challenge)'

I honestly did not realize that it had been wrangled into its own tag, which admittedly is quite humbling since I never imagined this event being big enough to warrant it. All the same, you can post to the collection and/or use the event tag on AO3, though I'll do my best to try and add fics myself as I come across them!

Rules & FAQ

Even though most of the general rules for the week were already written down in the Event Announcement Post, we would still like to specify some of our Do’s and Don’t’s to make sure Taikouvember will turn out amazingly for everyone involved!

Do's & Recommendations

The event goes from November 6th to November 12th, one day for each of the 7 prompts. 

You may choose either one or both of the contrasting prompts to use for each day. Interpret the prompts as you like, you can find some helpful tips in our Prompt Guideline. You may submit as many entries for each prompt as you like.

Every kind of entry will be allowed: Fanfiction, Drabbles, Poems, Fanart, Comics, Sketches & Doodles, Music, Playlists, Music Videos, Picture Sets and Edits, Gifsets, Meta, etc.

You can of course decide which series or medium you want to focus on: Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02, all corresponding movies, Digimon Adventure Tri, Digimon Adventure Last Evolution: Kizuna, Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning, Digimon Adventure: The 2020 Reboot, games, manhuas, audio dramas, novels, the stageplay, etc.

You are free to choose how to interpret the relationship of Taikou - whether that's romantic or platonic is completely up to you!

Other canon characters are allowed to be included, as long as the entries contain the original ship Taikou, the original characters, Taichi Yagami and Koushiro Izumi, and/or in extension, their partners, Agumon and Tentomon. You can also include multi-/polyships, OT3s, etc. as long as they contain Taikou.

Crossovers, Alternate Universes (AUs) or Own Characters (OCs) are allowed, as long as the entries contain the original ship.

What would each guild do if an Echo killed one of their members?

Each guild will have a different cultural response compared to the last, but all in all, the ending result will be no good.

NOTE: The following descriptions will assume that an Echo attempts and successfully kills a low-to-mid ranking Guild NPC. Attempts on the four guild leaders can be attempted, but may not always be successful.

All murders and attacks on guild members (including their leaders) should have an in-universe news report submitted to @aevumdaily so that a response from the guild can be posted there.

THE NOCTURNE GUILD.

The Nocturne Guild has a complex series of checks and balances to ensure no member gets caught or killed. (Certainly not with any incriminating evidence leading back to the Guild.) As such, Keen-eyed Echoes who become enemies of the Nocturne Guild will find themselves stalked for a couple of months before action is taken. Once the Echo's threat capacity has been thoroughly investigated, the Nocturne Guild may offer the Echo a summons from none other than Libretto Fortismo himself. He will give the Echo two options: atone for their transgressions by way of owing the guild a favor, or receive a debt the Echo may have no chance of wiping out. (Generally the debt would be a debt of 10,000-100,000,000 keys or various important items to the Echo. This payment will be taken from the Echo in ways of keys and material possessions.) Refusing either option will put you on the "Hounds List", in which the Nocturne Guild will commission the Smorzando Guild to hunt the Echo down. If the member is of high enough rank, the Echo may even be spoken about with the Dal Segno Guild. (see: Dal Segno, below.)

THE SMORZANDO GUILD.

Getting on the bad side of the Smorzando Guild is an extremely foolish endeavor. Guild members are highly volatile, impulsive, and prone to acts of extreme violence. They are also capable trackers and huntsmen, and a large-scale hunt of the offending Echo will ensue for about a month before the Smorzando Guild will bench their witch-hunt. This is true of the murder of any Smorzando Guild member, no matter the ranking. (However: killing a high-ranking member may result in the guild leader, Tre'bel Cleft, making the Echo his personal target. Cleft does hold a fierce grudge.) The Smorzando Guild will rarely result to murder as their immediate course of action, preferring to prioritize making Echoes they deem enemies suffer immeasurable amounts of pain and suffering. This can include beat-em-ups, torture, hazing, etc. Echoes can go under cover and work around the Smorzando Guild, and once their witch-hunt has been benched, they will become a lesser priority for the guild to go after. Tensions can be rekindled with fervor if the Echo's identity is revealed, though.

THE ETUDE GUILD.

The Etude Guild has a curious relationship amongst its members in that they all mutually dislike one another. Typically speaking, anyways. If a low ranking member of the guild were to meet an unfortunate end, chaos would ensue, resulting in in-fighting amongst the scholars in order to take their work and build upon it. If the member is popular enough (which isn't impossible), then the Echo would find that security has been increased around the Etude Guild hall— though noticeably, not by way of the Smorzando Guild. The Echo would be put under surveillance if their actions had been seen, and Etude Guild members would attack on sight. Revenge and murder would not be a priority so much as getting the offending Echo away from Etude Guild property and premises.

THE DAL SEGNO GUILD.

Killing a Dal Segno member will prove the most difficult as these members are largely elusive Aercon. If a member is killed by an Echo... nothing will happen. (At first.) But it doesn't take much longer than two weeks of having "gotten away with it" for seeds of a much larger revenge begin to take shape. Your Echo may find themselves waking up one day deep inside a Coda, having been transported there against their own will. Inside would be various personalized traps, enemies, and other methods of inducing whump onto an Echo revolving around fears that, most likely, the Echo hasn't spoken a word about. Suffice it to say: It's best not give the leader of Omerta Nostra any reason to have an Echo on his radar.

I must admit this will be one of the first times for me partipating on a fan-event such as this. I must admit I'm still not 100% clear on the rules so I'll just ask this: Say I write the prompts as chapters/one-shots for a single AO3 story. How would I go about properly including them in this event?

To include your work in the event, simply indicate that you are participating. That's it. Just a note at the top of the fic/chapter or social media post saying that you're participating in Sicktember 2024 and that your work was inspired by __ prompt!

Of course, there are other ways to promote your participation:

If you post on tumblr, you could use the tag #sicktember 2024

If you post AO3. you could add your work to the Sicktember 2024 Collection and/or tag your work as sicktember 2024

If you post in other fandom spaces, you could tag or mention that you work is based on sicktember 2024 prompts

During the event, you could send a submission to the Sicktember blog, to tell others where they can find your sicktember inspired work.

But none of that is required! You can be as involved as you want to be!

FAQ

What is a Big Bang?

A Big Bang is a fandom event wherein writers and artists come together to create! Typically, a writer will create a fic that meets a certain minimum length requirement, and an artist will create an art piece based upon that work. Writers and artists are paired up to work on their parts until the posting date, where the pieces are posted together!

Who can participate?

Any fans of the Stobotnik pairing are more than welcome to participate! This includes writers and artists, but we are also looking for beta readers and moderators. Currently, there is no cutoff for the number of participants.

How do I join?

Currently, sign-ups are closed. The first round of sign-ups was for writers, followed by artist and beta readers, who may input preferences for which project they would like to work on.

What happens after I sign up?

You will be contacted in DMs with the link to a Discord server, which will be the main hub for communication and check-ins. A Discord account will most likely be required for your participation in the event, but we are currently looking at possible alternative forms of communication if enough people request it.

Can I write/draw NSFW?

As long as you are over 18, yes! There will be a question within the application to confirm you are 18 or older; if you lie about this to us, you will be removed from the event. It is also required that writing and art of this nature is appropriately tagged and warned upon posting.

Can I participate as both an artist and writer?

No. For the sake of us here in the mod team and everyone participating, it is far easier if each person only does one thing, so you will need to pick one or the other.

Is there a theme?

There is no theme; if we run another event in future, there may be, but for the 2025 Big Bang, there's no theme, so go wild!

hi mods! quick event question, is altering character appearance okay? would something like short hair be permanent?

Hey Vanth-mun!

You can absolutely alter their appearance if it makes sense for the inverted AU you come up with! However, nothing you do to your character for the inversion will be permanent... for reasons that will become evident in part 2!

Yes and no! Participants are welcome to request and write any archive rating in this event. However, if you only request and offer platonic pairings ('A & B') and/or specify DNWs for romance, you will be guaranteed a gift that meets those preferences, as well as at least one platonic request for you to write. Unfortunately, I cannot currently guarantee an entirely gen/platonic assignment (like I could with other DNWs), as this depends on the sign-ups. If you have further questions or want to check in before sign-ups close to see if there is a suitable match for you, don’t hesitate to reach out again!
