It’s crazy how many people just don’t understand why a lot of aro and or ace people don’t like that Alaster gets shipped. It’s not that hard to understand we don’t have a lot to let ourselves lose. I mean can you name 10 asexual characters? 5? Can you name two aro characters. There’s the guy from Archie who they made have a sex scene in a movie version. There’s a few books. I think a background character in Heartstopper? Do you see the theme here??? You’re all queer people, do you not get it? How it feels to have nothing? Is it so wrong to be upset that there’s finally an outwardly aroace person in popular media and instead of people embracing that they’re fighting on the internet about why it’s ok to ignore it? And I will never in my fucking life have anything against the people who are aro and or ace and portray him in THEIR experiences, even if it is a romance or sex favorable experience, but it is obvious that way too many of you guys are allo and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t even like him as a character that much, he isn’t even made by an aroace artist. The show isn’t even that fucking good, I just want to keep someone like me for once in my life. If there were a million other aroace characters I wouldn’t care, but it just hurts seeing erasure coming from my own community. It just sucks, man, I don’t know. It just sucks

I remember sending in an ask about security breach being a show or play and the bots s/o is playing as a human version of them, BUT, combine that with a musical. I do feel like it’d be more mature since the glams and dca are human workers in this, like euphoria or hazbin hotel mature. I have this plot where it’s just like that and the movie’s subject is that they delve deep into s/o (in character)’s problems OUTSIDE of being their well known ‘self’ at the pizza plex.

The Hazbin fandom is consisted of the worst of both worlds from what I’ve seen: Bootlicking fans who can’t accept criticism and haters who act like Viv’s creations are the worst thing to happen since 911 or something like that.

Sometimes, I wish most shows were like the DP and TGAMM fandoms. Quiet and passionate at the same time.

i mean...you kinda just described most decently-sized fandoms. there's people at either end of the love-hate spectrum, as well as a wealth of opinions and takes in-between.

also idk, i'm admittedly a little wary of the whole "omg these bootlickers can't accept ANY critique of their shitty show!" perspective because quite frankly, so much critique of hh/hb comes from a place of bad faith. it comes from people who hate it on principle and will never change their stance, so like...why even bother engaging in an honest discussion if the other side of it won't actually hear and fairly consider your perspective, either.

most of the fans i keep up with are able to acknowledge hh/hb have numerous flaws. they engage thoughtfully with the source material. just because they still come out the other side liking it, or disagree with some criticisms of it doesn't mean they aren't thinking critically. it means they've simply come to different conclusions.

i don't have to trash or belittle a thing that i enjoy, and the older i get the more i realize i'd rather spend my energy cultivating what gives me joy than fixating on the things that irk or upset me. i like hazbin. i like helluva. i think they're fun shows. and god knows it's so fuckin' nice seeing adult animation that's trying something other than "stiffly animated family guy/rick and morty clone". i'm hoping it inspires more weird, off-the-wall independent stuff over the coming years, because i think the industry could use a bit of a shake-up.

When I first saw the Hazbin Hotel pilot, I knew Alastor would rise to the ranks of Tumblr Sexyman.

And I knew that he was going to be shipped every which way possible, but-

Thought of the night: Angel and Husk have their first, huh, before-marriage-sexual-intercourse, and then Angel is a bit freaked out you know, because it was so fucking nice, and then he starts singing a reprise of Poison and hes all like "another lover underneath those flashing lights" but then he looks up and the room is all dark because husk turned off the lights and he could simply sleep now
