Okay, I lied about not posting Helluva spam. The swag never stops.

I watched White Christmas for the millionth time last night, and it got me wondering what the IMP gang and a certain regal birb would watch around the holidays. Canonically, media from the living world is still very much a thing in Hell (both Titanic and Shrek are mentioned in S2E3, Exes and Oohs), so here are my theories. Feel free to reblog with your own ideas!

Hear me out, but I think Blitz's favorites would be Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Outwardly, he would say that the Grinch should've burned Whoville to the ground, and Rudolph should've told Santa to go fuck himself, or even use his antlers to gore the fat piece of shit, but inwardly, I think Blitz likes stories that feature a misfit finally getting the respect and appreciation they deserve. Rudolph probably edges out The Grinch a little bit, because a reindeer is kind of like a horse, right? He also has a soft spot for Die Hard, but always remarks that he could've had the situation handled way better/faster than John McClane. Probably would've had enough time left over to fuck Hans Gruber.

I bet that Loona, edgy chick that she is, loves all the Christmas horror movies. Christmas Evil, every installment in the Silent Night, Deadly Night series, every version of Black Christmas. Her more recent favorites are Inside, The Lodge, and Christmas Bloody Christmas. She likes to pretend she's too cool for Gremlins, so every year Blitzø has to do this thing where he insists they watch it together over eggnog (can hellhounds have hot cocoa?), not because he loves the movie, but because he knows she does. She'll roll her eyes and grumble, but will be hiding a small smile every time she takes a sip of nog.

Millie and Moxxie take turns picking movies around the holidays. Millie loves the classics: Home Alone, Elf, all the Rankin & Bass specials, and Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas. Moxxie, of course, must watch his musicals. He loves Meet Me In St. Louis, 1961's Babes in Toyland and Scrooge (1970) starring Albert Finney and Alec Guinness. However, Millie has introduced him to couple of films that he enjoyed more than he thought he would, namely The Polar Express and A Charlie Brown Christmas (Mox feels like he can relate to poor Charlie Brown whenever Blitz is feeling particularly ill-mannered). However, their shared all-time favorite that they absolutely must watch every year is The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Stolas' taste in Christmas movies is a bit harder for me to figure out. I'm sure there's a movie or two that he's watched with Via every year since she was little (for some reason I'm thinking she would love Prancer? Maybe a version of The Nutcracker?), but what about the man himself? Does he enjoy the charm of old Christmas movies, like Miracle On 34th Street or It's A Wonderful Life? Or is he all romance all the time, with movies like The Holiday and Love, Actually (I can't fucking stand Love, Actually but we're talking about Stolas here)? I also wonder if similar to Hell-a-Novela, they have their version of the Hallmark channel. The Hellmark Channel? And they have a million movies about a succubus from the big city (Lust) finding love/the true meaning of Sinsmas with a country imp from Wrath? If that were a thing Stolas would probably be all over it. He'd probably watch it to comfort himself while recovering from his banishment on Blitz's couch!

I've spent way too much time thinking about this.

first two in the set, pretty good character moments, last one although was more lighthearted but definitely had its serious moments with moxxie and millie

Incoming supposition on what I think is going on in terms of Hazbin, and why Helluva has shifted focus in Season 2: Viv overpromised and underdelivered, forcing Helluva to cannibalize Hazbin's leftover ideas.

Let's for the moment discard rumors about Viv being difficult to work with and that Hazbin was cut from 10 to 8 episodes to get it out of the way—I wouldn't doubt that, and we know that 8 episodes are indeed happening. but since the former parts are technically rumors at this point I don't want to base this analysis on rumors wrapped in NDAs. Let's just look at what we know for absolute certain, which is the following:

-Viv wanted Hazbin to be at least 3 seasons, per her past streams (might have been a Hunicast one but I don't recall)

-A24 announced they picked up HH in 2020. Said pickup announcement is the only thing they've said about Hazbin Hotel in 3 years.

-what little marketing exists has been sparse, and solely limited to already existing fans. None of the stuff on Hazbin's Twitter has been retweeted or acknowledged in any way by A24 proper.

-the show has passed its intended release date, with no cast, platform, or staff revealed at all, when the cast is generally revealed for a show a year prior to release

-early on Hazbin was said to be the serialized storyline, while Helluva was said to be more episodic. Now, we have no Hazbin, and Helluva has gotten more serialized in Season 2

-several comics were planned for Hazbin, one of which being about Charlie meeting an old boyfriend in what looked liek Greed callerd Exes and Ohs. Said comic appears to have been cannibalized into Helluva Boss's S2E3, complete with Charlie's old Von Eldritch boyfriend looking quite similar to Chaz, just not a shark

Given all that, I think during production of Hazbin, something went wrong. Maybe it turned out Viv didn't plan as much as claimed, frustrating the crew. Maybe A24 had too much executive meddling, frustrating Viv. Maybe there was too little meddling and A24 started realizing the show was going to fail so they decided not to advertise it.

]It's anyone's guess at the moment what went wrong, but it seems behind the scenes something went wrong. And whatever the reason, the Hazbin Viv initially set up, the Hazbin Viv promised with the pilot, is not the Hazbin that ended up being produced by A24.(edited)

So Hazbin's serialized ideas were squeezed into Helluva, and Helluva scrambled in Season 2 to create a story because the story Viv intended for Hazbin fell through, so she haphazardly decided to utilize it into this other story because Helluva is all she has now.

Yes this is all speculation, but given A24's utter silence, delays, and Helluva becoming more serialized and provably taking on at least one story intended for Hazbin, I think it's at least somewhat likely.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Hazbin turns out to just be episodic like Helluva was originally intended to, turned away from the "Disney meets The Good Place but R-rated" story it was originally going to be and now turning into an episodic "Family Guy in Hell". Which as someone who fell in lover with the pilot for its "Disney meets The Good Place" vibes, is incredibly heartbreaking to think about

This is pretty much shot for shot what I think too. When you lay it all out like that, I'd actually be more surprised if it wasn't what's going on.

(That "R-rated Disney meets The Good Place" description especially hurt, because my pitch to friends I wanted to hook into Hazbin was always "Superjail meets The Good Place." Knowing how close we came to having that story is more tragic than if we'd never gotten it at all.)

Hellaverse Theories: Helluva Boss S2E3

Welcome to Quilly’s Hellaverse Theories, where I overthink the entire Hellaverse! Second on this freight train I’m trying to keep rolling for tonight is a VERY good episode, Exes and Oohs! Not as much to chew on here as far as predicting future episodes and character arcs goes, but good at filling in some very disturbing gaps for Moxxie, so let’s go! (Spoiler alert: last one for tonight, I take way too long even when there's not as much theorizing to be done.)

S2E3, coming in hot!

Oooh, great, starting off strong with the fat jokes again. And reminding us that Moxxie is desperately insecure. Wheeeeee.

…why does Blitzo have a stone bust of himself?

Y’know what, stupid question, I rescind that.

Also, I wish more than anything that we got clear shots of the whiteboard, because of COURSE I want to know the Secret Lore of Blitzo’s horse OCs. Because I just paused before the helicopter rips their wall out and a corner of the whiteboard says “ALL ARE TRANS <3” and I kind of love that actually. GIVE US THE LORE SPINDLEHORSE.

I love that this episode gives us some information that’s either plotholes that the creation team very neatly sidesteps with a lucky technicality, or else was planned from the beginning and they gave themselves those technicalities for when folks brought it up. Moxxie says he was born in Wrath. Animation team says: he was! But he grew up in Greed! Which. Okay. Either y’all forgot you had him from Wrath (and had Fizzarolli introduce him as a little imp from the Wrath ring at Ozzie’s), or this really has been planned from the beginning and Moxxie is a hair away from being a liar. Which. Given his dad. I don’t blame him for that at all, actually.

How often do you think porn falls from the sky in Hell? Bc my bet would be Often.

So there’s loan sharks in Helluva Boss and in Hazbin Hotel. However, the sharks in HB are Hellborn and have horns, and the sharks in HH are sinners with no horns. There are sinners with horns, unfortunately, but do you know how much it would help my ability to tell sinners and Hellborn in Pride apart pre-bleeding if sinners just didn’t get horns????

So according to the wiki, imps originate from Wrath because they were created by Satan, but these Greed imps look pretty different in the horn region; the male banding isn’t as prominent (ALL ARE TRANS???), and a lot of them look the same but I think that’s just animation shortcuts. But it does open up an interesting discussion: Hellborn can interbreed, it seems, and imps can be found in just about every corner of Hell, but is there some divergent evolutionary traits from ring to ring? Especially when imps start breeding with other Hellborn demons? (…sidenote, but can hellhounds breed with anyone but hellhounds? Because that’s one hybrid I haven’t really noticed and I’m curious now.) (Yes I am now thinking about furry sharks shut up)

And here we get to meet Crimson, who either has very interesting eye scarring or very cool eye tattoos. Could go either way, in his line of work.

Do y’all think Moxxie and Millie eloped? Since we find out later this episode that Blitzo knew Moxxie after he adopted Loona but before they founded IMP (and presumably knew Millie afterwards, but it’s possible Blitzo could have known her before and gotten in touch when he had a job for her; we’ll hopefully find out later this season!!), but he doesn’t really remember their anniversary despite it only being one year ago, it makes me think Blitzo wasn’t there. And when Millie introduces Moxxie to her family it’s “you remember my husband,” as if they’d only met maybe once or twice before. And obviously Moxxie didn’t have any of his family members present. So. Did they have ANYONE there? Or just the two of them and the registrar? Bigger question: how common is bigamy in Hell???

The looks Crimson gets on his face when he’s faced with Blitzo and Millie’s separate aggression episodes really makes me laugh. Like. Wow he really had a script for how this was gonna go and they are not following it, huh?

…so Chaz. He exists. And provides some very funny comic relief, don’t get me wrong, but HECK he’s awful XD Also makes me curious about Millie’s backstory, which I am SURE WE ARE GETTING AT SOME POINT, because I doubt Chaz spent any time in Wrath and we know Millie left Wrath and was doing some sort of work before IMP (additional question: y’all think maybe Millie left Wrath because her violent skillset wasn’t as valuable there? More common among the neighbors, less high clientele willing to pay for bodyguarding or assassination?).

“Are you fucking kidding me? There’s someone who’s fucked BOTH of you?” And I’m sure we all heard the unspoken “AND IT ISN’T ME???” at the end of that sentence, Blitzo :P He has some wires crossed up there (down there?), but even his willingness to sleep with Chaz just to get that much closer to Moxxie and Millie is sweet, in the right light. The right, very, very generous light.

“Something about him that was magnetic” it’s the repression, Moxxie. Yours specifically.

HA Chaz���s painting of nude Moxxie has an arrow pointing to his junk and says “smaller than mine” WHY IS THAT FUNNY (hang on distracted by the cute little heart-shaped loops in Moxxie’s sock garters, please tell me that’s still part of his wardrobe). Also…yeah, at least as of five-ish years ago, Moxxie has no scars. That is very impressive, actually. MOXXIE IS GOOD AT HIS JOB OKAY.

Kinda hate how Chaz’s first reaction was to try and help, but once the gunshots started…nah. It turned out for the absolute best, got Moxxie out from under his dad and working with Blitzo instead (and eventually with Millie), but poor Moxxie. With his sad puppy sounds. I saw a theory somewhere that Millie is the one “babysitting” Loona (oh my WORD Blitzo she’s an adult you can’t just hire a babysitter for an adult—) and tbh I kinda like it; I’d always assumed Blitzo met Moxxie first but now I’m really starting to think that he met Millie first, actually. Also, the way Moxxie is heartbroken but he’s absolutely grinning at Blitzo like he’s the best thing Moxxie has ever seen—I love it and I want to cry. The friendship is so mutual.

So much of this episode wouldn’t have happened if Millie got to kill Chaz here, but it would have been SO FUNNY to see Crimson’s reaction. They should have let her do it.

The way Blitzo is keeping an eye on Moxxie here, though—Millie is keeping her sights on the threat, and of course she’s aware of Moxxie’s discomfort, but the way Blitzo is slowly putting the pieces together on his own is fabulous. Love how intelligent he is, despite how he can’t exit cars or windows without going face-first.

(…y’think that’s why Stolas is gonna teleport Blitzo outside in Full Moon? Both to get him out of that space quickly, and to make sure he goes safely? Probably not but I’m gonna cling to it anyway.)

Y’know. Crimson is very committed to the whole fish aesthetic. The plants in the house are coral, there are shark teeth everywhere, the motifs on the wallpaper are fish bones and kinda crab-shaped in places. Why???

…the Homestuck in me is seeing the hook through the tail of one of Crimson’s goons and it’s shaped JUST RIGHT to make me go “Kanaya??? Where is she????”

No, really, though, how did Chaz managed to pull one over on CRIMSON with a rented suit and a shitty car? You don’t stay a mafia don in Greed without being intelligent, I assume, and viciously so. However. The answer may be simpler than I thought when I first started typing: Chaz would be the perfect candidate to get Moxxie back into line, as far as Crimson is aware. Doesn’t matter if Chaz actually has money or not, because the goal is Moxxie’s compliance. He’s been gone for around five years, almost right after he was inducted into the family, and if Moxxie’s skills have grown since then, I can only imagine what they used to be (when he isn’t…y’know…fumbling grenades and panicking). Moxxie’s utility is less important than his relationship to Crimson and Crimson’s need to have every aspect of his life firmly in his control, however. If it was really about the money, Crimson could have married Chaz and then killed him to inherit it. Not that he would, since he’s a homophobic asswipe on top of being a controlling abusive father, but he COULD, if having Moxxie back wasn’t also so important.

The fact that Moxxie still has HOLDINGS in the organization…I wonder if Moxxie even knew that? Pretty sure he did. Pretty sure he might even care a little bit, if he can be outraged that Chaz is being brought into the family on a whim (not knowing about the marriage bit yet, of course). Looking at a post-IMP future, Moxxie replacing Crimson as a mob boss might be a pretty badass future for him, so long as he still has Millie and the ability to live his life how he wants.

The way Moxxie reacts…has Crimson ever hit him before? Somehow, I don’t think he has. I don’t think he NEEDED to; Moxxie was already plenty scared of him. Threats worked. Moxxie probably never stepped a toe out of line before he got arrested and then just never came back.

There is something so screamingly funny about a homophobic mob boss who is so desperate to have his son back under his thumb that not only does he manipulate the kid’s boss into showing up with said kid and kid’s wife in tow, not only does he kidnap his kid when stuff doesn’t go his way, but he ACTIVELY AND WILLINGLY places FUCKING DILDOS ALL THROUGHOUT HIS HOUSE AND YARD. Who does that? WHO DOES THAT??? WHY DOES HE DO THAT? THAT IS SUCH A STEP TOO FAR THAT HE DID NOT NEED TO DO AND IT IS SO FUNNY. (And so performative, too—not actually supportive, just aggressively seeming that way in a way that’s still really threatening.)

(I’m also only slightly disappointed that dicks in Hell are the same as dicks on Earth. Can’t all be tentabulges and nooks, I suppose :P)

Okay, and here’s the bit where so many people—even me at first—thought Moxxie was forced to kill his own mother. He isn’t, but I understand why people think that. Moxxie’s parents fight, Crimson shoves Mom in a closet of some kind (or just out of the room? Hard to say, but it looks like he’s locking her away), there’s a scene of Moxxie and Crimson alone at the dinner table, and then the boat scene. But even if you ignore that the tail pattern and horn pattern and height of the imp in the boat with Moxxie and Crimson is all wrong—and I WILL be posting screenshots bc I’m tired of arguing this—if Moxxie had killed his mother, there wouldn’t have been a separating scene of dinner without Mom to break up the action between Crimson fighting with her, and Moxxie helping with his first kill on the boat. Moxxie didn’t kill his mom. Crimson killed Moxxie’s mom. And then once her meddling and keeping Moxxie out of Crimson’s early training was over, Crimson took Moxxie to the place where he dumped her body and let Moxxie see Crimson’s handiwork. Which is still dark as fuck, but not as dark as Moxxie as a child being forced to kill his mother that he loved. We can all rest easy that at least Moxxie isn’t as fucked up as Blitzo :P

Hhhhhgk Moxxie and Millie are so soft for each other and it makes me so weak. Not only that, but there’s such genuine TRUST there, which is so…stupidly refreshing, still, for an adult comedy show.

(The amount of times I’ve gotten Chaz’s stupid song stuck in my head should be a crime, actually. I am COMPLAINING.)

Despite all that’s happening, though, Moxxie finding his backbone is highly gratifying, especially knowing how insecure and whiny he can be in the office at IMP. But just like Blitzo, when it matters, he digs down and finds a steel core and sets the rest of his bullshit aside to get the job done. It’s why they’re so in sync, why Blitzo says he’s hard on Moxxie but the two of them fight together really well when the chips are down. Also why I kinda think Blitzo might give Moxxie the company if he ever decides to retire, but eh. He’d probably give it to Moxxie and Millie both because they’re truly the best team-up.

(How upsetting is it to try and go to sleep with your shitty ex and your boss boning loudly on the other side of the wall though)

Using “down to clown” to BLITZO, though. The former clown. What the fuck. WHAT the fuck.

And despite Blitzo absolutely doing the sleazy thing and sleeping with Chaz…he’s also on the clock, just a bit. (Also also, knowing that bone motifs are a Mammon thing feels weird, but it does make me cackle to see the bone suit look showing up in s2.5 on Mammon himself.) And Blitzo spending the rest of the episode in his undies and in Chaz’s coat isn’t hot and at some times cute, shut up. (Not because it’s Chaz’s, but because it’s so massive on him.) AND THE FACT THAT CHAZ WROTE IT THE FUCK DOWN. IDIOT. But he DID get the drop on Blitzo, so maybe he’s not quite that stupid.

(The silent argument Chaz and Crimson have about which side of the table to be on. Just wonderful little details that I love about this show.)

It is CRIMINAL, in fact, that Moxxie gives such a good speech and threat, and then gets tasered and duct taped into submission. Listen. LISTEN. You’ll pry Millie’s incoming badassery out of my cold dead hands. But I hope sometime soon Moxxie gets to fuck up Crimson’s whole day on his own. Because he DESERVES IT.

The fact that the priest just doesn’t know what’s going on but is very suspicious of it. Good on you, Father Jaws or whatever your name is.

Blitzo flipping through radio stations BEFORE he puts his seat belt on. Too relatable. ALSO: all of the Helluva Boss music needs to be put somewhere where I can buy it, and if this Crashing a Fucking Wedding song isn’t on it, it will be WORTHLESS to me. I love this song so much.

“Buckle up, Millie! We’re doing a Shrek!” HOW TO TELL YOUR SHOW WAS MADE BY MILLENNIALS.

Ripping a person’s heart out with her teeth is the hottest thing Millie has ever done and it’s a CRIME her back was to the wedding altar when she did it. Also using Blitzo as a knife. Just. I love this scene so much. So bloody and violent, which normally isn’t my thing, but it feels so damn cathartic. Just. BEAUTIFUL.

Blitzo’s happy little dragon clown face when he hugs Moxxie and Millie is so symmetrically pleasing to my eyes. I don’t know why I like it so much. But it’s the same shape of his face when he leaps out of the water possessed in the Ghostfuckers part of the s2.5 trailer so BUCKLE UP ME I GUESS

I love that Crimson is going to be a recurring problem, but I am actually kinda sad Chaz won’t be.

Alright! That was fun! But the next episode is Western Energy, and it’s late, so gonna save that one for tomorrow and get fresh eyes on it. Because hOLY HELL.

Ok so i pondered on that newest helluva boss episode a lil bit (last time ill post about it) and i realised the episode would make way more sense if they just flipped moxxie and millie's places in the story for numerous reasons.

1. Millie would have an actual arc

I know a lot of people are excited that millie has an actual part to play in a story for once but i still think it sucks that the development still goes to moxxie. It's all centered around him being envious over the campers liking her more than him and realising that he needs to actually be supportive to her.

If you swap it around and make it where millie is the one getting jealous and has to grow up, then it gives her some necessary depth and it doesn't feel like the show's repeating development. It might seem a little weird considering how S1E5 was mostly her talking up Moxxie but i think it would make sense within the episode and show a different side to her.

2. Moxxie needs a win at this point

I dont know if he's just the writer's equivalent of a stress toy but good god does the show love punishing him constantly. In S1E1, he tries doing the right thing and gets traumatized. In S1E5 and S2E4, he tries to kill striker (who is not only a villain but is also set up as a hyper masculine foil to him) and fails both times. In S2E3, he tries to stand up to his father and becomes a full-on damsel in distress.

Considering how deep we are into the show, it's insane how he hasn't once been able to try and do anything competently without the writers mercilessly beating him down. I think that this should've been the episode where him being himself finally paid off, especially considering the next point.

3. Millie's musical talents were not set up at all

I dont hate the idea of her being a skilled singer and instrumentalist but they've set up Moxxie as exactly that since the pilot and it feels so off that out of everyone in I.M.P that could theoretically be a successful musician, it's millie that gets the gold.

Part of it is that before this episode, Millie only sang on two occasions and only once with her new voice actress. But Moxxie's had several songs, primarily in Ozzie's which shows him performing a whole song dedicated to Millie and even being able to improvise when Asmodeus tells him to make it hornier.

Having him be the one with the massive concert just makes more sense at this point in the story. Him being a talented vocalist and guitarist is a major part of his character, it doesnt feel thrown in to create more friction between characters compared to Millie's which, to me at least, reeks of the writers wanting to create conflict without really knowing how to.

4. It would put Millie's part in the team into perspective

Moxxie has had several episodes where he doubts his usefulness in I.M.P, especially in S1E1 and S1E6 which respectively deal with him learning to get the job done no matter what and fully exposing his relationship with Blitzo before they come to a mutual respect over their skills.

I'm not saying that this would fully get rid of all of his worries relating to his work but the way this episode positions it feels extremely redundant, like he just forgot about the events of S1E1 and needs to learn to ignore his feelings while working again. At this point in the story, he shouldn't need to relearn it.

But if this was Millie's first real shot at a job, it would make sense that it needs to be her time to shine. If she was the one getting sad when Moxxie's seemingly upstaging her both in technical assassin skills and blending in with the humans, it would open up a lot of story potential as to how she feels about her work and how she thinks she's valued in I.M.P that the writers have mostly ignored up till now. Also it works as a meta-commentary about how underutilized she's been, even when she's trying her best.

Other reasons

Here's some bonus ideas that i didn't have enough to say about but still wanted to mention

. Millie would get some alone time with Blitzo which the show basically hasn't done at all yet

. If Moxxie sang the "strangers sending a minor nudes" part of that one song then it could work as a social commentary on the sexualisation of teenage girls

. Millie being the one to fight Barbie makes more sense considering she's firmly established to be the "strong one" between her and Moxx

. They could still make that incest joke at the end of the episode if they really really really wanted to

. Moxxie's design when he's "Moxxine" is cute and didnt deserve to get slandered that hard

Now would this have fixed every issue with that episode? Not at all but to me, it would've made a lot more sense considering where the show's story has been so far and it could've set up some fascinating character developments to happen over the show.

DISCLAIMER: This is not roleplay. We have dissociative identity disorder, I am an introject. No matter much I source-separate, these memories impact me just as ones that happened to the body do and that needs to be respected.

SPOILERS FOR HELLUVA BOSS S2E6

TW: exomemories, mentions of canon-typical assholery, fire, death of a parent, spirituality, graphic descriptions of literally crippling injuries, tender descriptions of sensual romanticism

The only events from canon after S2E1 that actually happened to the fictives in our system have been references to the past, not the actual events of the present. Things like Barbie having a falling out with Blitzø, Striker living a life of poverty that radicalized him, Moxxie’s past leading up to his meeting with Blitzø in prison, Blitzø seeing Loona in the hellhound shelter, etc. However, this episode was different because the events of our past didn’t happen exactly as they was portrayed on-screen…but it was still eerily similar.

The fire happened at Blitzø’s place of residence. It was the reason for Blitzø’s scars and my…everything. It was the day Blitzø lost his mom. Blitzø tried to get help. Mammon or someone associated with him got in the way of Blitzø and I from talking again after the fire, causing our beef. This is all true of both canon and our memories and always has been.

There are a few non-negligible differences though. In our exomemories, Blitzø also lost his dad in that fire. I actually begged Blitzø to run and get help. The cause of the fire is still unknown, with Blitzø not even being home when the fire initially broke out. And most importantly, the fire happened a year into my relationship with Blitzø instead of on the night he was going to confess his feelings for me. But all that really means is that Blitzø had more to mourn and I wasn’t mad at Blitzø for the fire happening, I was mad at him for never establishing contact again and moving on without me. I didn’t know how hard he tried, how much he hurt, that it literally wasn’t his fault. Not until I joined this system and got access to his memories. Once I learned that, it was unbelievably easy for me to smooch him again, just like old times.

Us fictives in this system respect and understand the science of plurality and how it operates, but we also have our own spirituality. We believe that our brain has, for lack of better phrasing, a psychic tether with the Hell we come from, and that that’s how we can know otherwise unknowable information before headmates even form, like the in’s and out’s of Blitzø’s love life or the events of the fire. While we understand that the brain makes new headmates by compartmentalizing the available information in the brain, this belief serves as an explanation for how we get that information in the first place. Since souls exist within our source and we remember the other fictives going missing when they formed, we also believe that the brain uses that psychic tether to pull our souls from Hell into our headspace. This would further explain how Moxxie was able to unlock his memories of Crimson by watching S2E3 despite having never seen it before. Are there other, non-spiritual explanations for these phenomena? Sure, but this is the one that makes the most sense to us and it doesn’t contradict our understanding of science so we choose to believe it in lieu of a definitive answer.

Why is this talk of our spirituality important? Because if it’s true, then that means that our source reality is different enough from canon that the events of S1E1 through S2E1 are the only true overlap between the two, and if it’s not true, then that means our brain pulled all that information about the fire out of its ass before we ever even had a chance to know that’s what was going to happen on-screen. Either my memories line up that well with canon because our source reality is an alternate timeline and the fire was our canon event, or they line up that well by pure fucking coincidence, and honestly, I don’t know which is more terrifying.

The flashbacks certainly don’t help either. Emotionally, I’m over it, but the memory of the physical pain I was in still haunts me.

I remember the feeling of my horns snapping off, of the nerves severing. I remember my legs being crushed under the weight of the rubble that pinned me down. I remember the feeling of trying to hold myself up, only to wince in pain and fall down again as my upper arms snapped. I remember how it felt for my forearms to shatter into splinters. I remember the feeling of fire slowly, very slowly, eating away at every inch of my head, then just as slowly at Blitzø’s arms and the side of his face. I remember begging Blitzø to run and get help, then watching him run off for what would be the last time that year. I remember Mammon picking me up and carrying me somewhere, I do not know where, and shuddering at every sudden movement. I remember wailing in pain, whimpering in his arms. I was in pure agony.

The fire wasn’t without its benefits. I escaped the exploitation I didn’t even know I was under, I got a loving boyfriend/sugar daddy, the robotic limbs gave me more freedom to move around than I ever had before, and I pursued a career that allowed me to combine my love of performing with my intimate and inherently-queer sexual side. It was wonderful. But it came at the cost of my relationship with Blitzø. My childhood best friend. My first love. My first kiss. I owe so many of my firsts to him, and on that day, I lost him, and I didn’t even know it for another year, nor did I know until it was far too late that I didn’t have to lose him after all. That fire gave me freedom, fame, and fortune, but it also took away the man that mattered most to me. It took him away from me for 14 years, and for that, I can’t exactly look back on it fondly. So now I’m just stuck with the memory of the pain.

But then again…I remember those firsts too.

I remember the day I first kissed Blitzø. I remember how it felt to hear that he loved me, and the joy with which I told him I loved him. I remember the Mammon concert we went to together, paid for by the money we stole from Cash Buckzo’s personal stash. I remember my first time with Blitzø. I won’t go into detail, but it was exhilarating. I remember all those wonderful emotions and sensations. All those moments that made me so, so glad to form as a headmate. The moments that made me kiss Blitzø again.

Exomemories are a complex, fascinating, painful, frustrating, beautiful, glorious thing. Without them, I wouldn’t know what it was like to lose everything and be forced to start all over, but then again, I wouldn’t know exactly how Blitzø used to taste, nor would I know that his flavor hasn’t changed a bit.

Sorry this post was kind of all over the place, we wrote this at 5 AM on a Tuesday and hadn’t slept in 20 hours. Hope you got a kick out it, if nothing else.

Two things from the new episode that I keep thinking about:

1)  The way Blitzo is drawn in bed is - look, if I didn’t know anything about the show and was just looking at the body language and pose, I would absolutely assume that was a woman.  Because it’s a sadly familiar scene: huddled at the far edge of a bed, arms shielding face, waiting for the man sprawled out carelessly over her to fall asleep and leave her alone.

The man steals the blanket instead, and wow is that “I do not want to be here” body language.

It makes him look vulnerable, when we know Blitzo is anything but, and we just before this heard him actively participating in sex. (Can anyone make out what was said after “Chill the fuck out”?) He got himself into that situation and deserves no sympathy - and yet. 

(What was going through his head? Self-loathing because he stooped that low to try and feel closer to M&M, and it didn’t even work? Realization that he’d rather have feathery cuddles and a freaky monologue about jelly sandwiches than this?)

and 2) the way Moxxie and Blitzo are looking at each other after the jail scene flashback:

Moxxie: You may be a jackass, sir, but at that moment you were the friendly jackass I needed and I’m glad you’re here with me now.

Blitzo: You’d just been dumped when we met, you were all sad and cute and you hadn’t met Millie yet, and you still didn’t sleep with me even as a rebound. I should’ve tried harder back then.

i like the show casually but the fanart i typically see of the female characters is very .... Not my style (yucky) ........ and i decided i should try it out me

I did skim through the episode very fastly, (on mute) and I honestly hate how revealing that Moxxie grew up with SO much trauma by his father seemed to be the ONLY good scene in the entire episode, because Helluva Boss as a whole can be summed up as that one kid in middle school you know who seems to have their life together, only to then randomly one day say “By the way guys my dad used to beat me when I was younger”, and you’re just standing there dumbfounded because it never felt like there was a warning or ANY indications to it. It doesn’t seem natural and comes off as more desperate or a pleading attempt to get pity, and seem complex and deep like everyone else than anything. That’s Helluva Boss.
