How I use AI as an admin assistant to improve my job performance:
First of all, stop being scared of AI. It's like being scared of cars. They're here to stay, there are some dangers, but it's super useful so you should figure out how to make them work for you. Second, make sure you're not sharing personal or company secrets. AI is great but if you're not paying the providing company for the tool with cash then you are paying with your data. If you're not sure if the AI service your company uses is secure, ask IT. If your company isn't using AI ask them why, what the policy on AI use is, and stick to that policy.
Now, here's how I use AI to improve my work performance:
Make a Personal Assistant: I use enterprise ChatGPT's custom GPT feature to make all kinds of things. An email writing chat (where I can put in details and get it to write the email and match my tone and style), a reference library for a major project (so I always have the information and source at my fingertips in a meeting), one for the company's brand voice and style so anything I send to marketing is easy for them to work with, and gets picked up faster. I treat these GPTs like an intern who tries really hard but may not always get things right. I always review and get the GPT to site its sources so I can confirm things. It saves hours of repetitive work every week.
Analyze complex data: I deal with multiple multi-page documents and Word's "compare" feature is frankly terrible. I can drop two similar documents into my AI and get it to tell me what's different and where the differences are. Again, a huge timesaver.
Prepare for meetings and career progression support: Before any meeting I upload any materials from the organizers and anything relevant from my unit, and then get it to tell me, given the audience, what sort of questions might be asked in the meeting and what are the answers. I also ask it to align my questions and planned actions to the strategic plan.
Plan my career development: I told my AI where I wanted to go in the next five years and got it to analyze my resume and current role. I asked it to show me where I needed skills, and provide examples of where I could get those skills. Then I asked it to cost out the classes and give me a timeline. Now I'm studying for a certificate I didn't know about before to get to an accreditation I really want.
How to do it all (prompt engineering):
Do the groundwork by giving your AI context, details, information, and very specific requests. I loaded a bunch of emails into my email-writing GPT and also told it my career ambitions. It's tweaked my tone just a little. I sound like me, but a bit more professional. Likewise if you're making a reference library. It can't tell you what it doesn't know, but it will try, so be sure to tell it not to infer based on data, but to tell you when it doesn't have information.
Security risks to consider:
Secure access: You absolutely must protect sensitive information and follow whatever AI policy is in place where you work. If there isn't one, spearhead the team working on it. It's a perfect leadership opportunity.
Data protection: Be very careful when sharing sensitive data with AI systems, and know your security. Also check your results! Again, think of AI as an eager but kind of hapless intern and double check their work.
Recognize AI threats: Stay aware of potential AI-driven cyberattacks, such as deepfake videos or social engineering attempts. There have been some huge ones lately!
By getting a handle on AI and being aware of the risks you can improve your work quality, offload the boring stuff, and advance your career. So get started. But be careful.

How I Started Earning With AI Without Quitting My 9-to-5
Tumblr media
The Easy Path to Letting AI Do the Work For You — Even If You're Not a Tech Whiz You Don't Need to Leave Your Job to Create a New Life Most individuals believe creating a better life is something you need to begin by burning bridges. Leaving your job. Being super risky. Going "all in."
I used to think that way too.
Each scroll through my feed demonstrated creators enjoying dream lives: YouTubers, freelancers, AI entrepreneurs, course sellers. It seemed like they'd all taken a leap, abandoned stability, and somehow transformed their passion into profit.
Here's the secret nobody tells you:
You don't have to leave your job to make money with AI.
The Lie Social Media Sells There's a myth that in order to succeed with AI (or anything on the internet), you must become a digital nomad full-time or start a startup.
That's the internet chatting — not reality.
In fact, attempting everything all at once is a recipe for burnout. But with just a handful of hours each day, I began to generate real income on the side.
No coding.
No shelling out cash for pricey software.
No quitting.
Where Everything Changed For Me I chose to dip my toes in the water.
Not by starting a startup. Not by learning to code.
I just started applying AI tools to problems and content creation, and I did it while still punching the clock at my day job.
My plan was straightforward: Apply 1–2 hours a day to experimenting with real-world tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, and other no-code tools to accomplish things like:
Generate content for small businesses
Construct templates and digital products
Automation of freelance work
Provide services through marketplaces such as Fiverr and Upwork
As soon as I understood how many individuals were ready to pay for something that I could now do quicker (gratitude to AI), I dove in.
What You Can Do (Even If You're Not "Techy") Here are some easy ways to begin monetizing using AI today:
Sell content created with AI (ebooks, blog articles, social media copy)
Create digital products with AI tools such as Canva or Midjourney
Offer AI services to others: emails, outlines, proposals, copywriting
Launch a voiceless YouTube channel with AI scripts and voiceovers
Lease ChatGPT for freelance genius, not drudgery
None of this needs a degree. You simply need some curiosity, some extra time, and the desire to do rather than scroll.
Make AI Do the Work While You Hold onto Your Paycheck You don't have to jump – you just have to begin.
AI is here. It's strong. And it's empowering ordinary folks like you and me to make money on our terms.
Begin with your extra hours.
Let AI assist you while your stable job pays the bills.
No show. No gamble. Just a smarter way to create a better life.

there's something so deeply dystopian to me how tech companies don't understand that a forced convenience is not a convenience at all. i'm sure autocorrect is helpful for many, but a function that forcibly changes my actual written words and punctuation is taking away my language. photo filters can be nice but i need to choose using them myself or else i have lost the ability to take the picture i want. i don't want a machine to draw or write for me. taking away the option for me to do things manually feels like violence!!!! all this talk of endless opportunity, why are you RESTRICTING me

Introducing my Digital Assistant - How I use AI in my work and my life
People often ask me how I use AI for my blog. They think now that ChatGPT can write on every topic, there is no need for people who create content. Let me share with you how I use AI nowadays. It helps me with so many things: makes the research I need for my articles, gives me the body of the…

Not to preach to the choir but I wonder if people generally realize that AI models like ChatGPT aren't, like, sifting through documented information when you ask it particular questions. If you ask it a question, it's not sifting through relevant documentation to find your answer, it is using an intensely inefficient method of guesswork that has just gone through so many repeated cycles that it usually, sometimes, can say the right thing when prompted. It is effectively a program that simulates monkeys on a typewriter at a mass scale until it finds sets of words that the user says "yes, that's right" to enough times. I feel like if it was explained in this less flattering way to investors it wouldn't be nearly as funded as it is lmao. It is objectively an extremely impressive technology given what it has managed to accomplish with such a roundabout and brain-dead method of getting there, but it's also a roundabout, brain-dead method of getting there. It is inefficient, pure and simple.

Video game I saw in a dream. It was in this low poly style like an older video game. You play as this character I think was meant to be a lamb, or maybe a weird mix of a lamb a mouse and a rabbit, (while not really looking like any of those things) and you’re running away from a wolf. Your objective is to last as long as possible before the wolf catches and eats you.
The house you’re running in is endless and bizarrely put together like most building interiors in dreams are (like the infinite toilet dream dimension on Reddit lol) the layout of the house is pretty detailed, you can stop and hide in places like closets or bins while the wolf looks for you, you can go up and down stairs and into rooms etc.
You never actually know where the wolf is or how close it is to you until it appears in your line of sight, it makes no noise and the game gives you no way of knowing where it is, and it’s pretty unpredictable it doesnt move at a consistent pace. When the wolf catches you there’s an animation showing it eating your character

i hate to say it because i'm neurodivergent and a chronic-pain-haver but like... sometimes stuff is going to be hard and that's okay.
it's okay if you don't understand something the first few times it's explained to you. it's okay if you have to google every word in a sentence. it's okay if you need to spend a few hours learning the context behind a complicated situation. it's okay if you need to read something, think about it, and then come back to re-read it.
i get it. giving up is easier, and we are all broken down and also broke as hell. nobody has the time, nobody has the fucking energy. that is how they win, though. that is why you feel this way. it is so much easier, and that is why you must resist the impetus to shut down. fight through the desire you've been taught to "tl;dr".
embrace when a book is confusing for you. accept not all media will be transparent and glittery and in the genre you love. question why you need everything to be lily-white and soft. i get it. i also sometimes choose the escapism, the fantasy-romance. there's no shame in that. but every day i still try to make myself think about something, to actually process and challenge myself. it is hard, often, because of my neurodivergence. but i fight that urge, because i think it's fucking important.
especially right now. the more they convince you not to think, the easier it will be to feed you misinformation. the more we accept a message without criticism, the more power they will have over that message. the more you choose convenience, the more they will make propaganda convenient to you.
