you really did think you could make it through the movie without jumping once. It was only ten minutes in and your fingers were practically glued to your eyes, only half the screen visible.
When kai had asked you if you would be scared later you told him no so confidently. yeonjuns chin on your shoulder, one hand wrapped around your waist, and the other reaching out past you for the movie you held. “I don’t know…” huening hummed picking up another dvd from the family-friendly section. “maybe we need to buy this one so you fall asleep to something comforting,”
“I promise I won’t be scared,” you say, taking the horror movie from Yeonjun. “it doesn’t even look that bad, right jjunie?”
“I’ll be awake either way you know I can’t take the jump scares,” he gives you a light kiss on your jaw before pulling away to reach out for the movie Kai held. “we should take it just in case,”
“We won’t need it,” you say, placing the horror movie into the basket Kai held. “I’m sure I’ll sleep like a rock even before the movie is over,”
but even with Kai’s little grin turned on for you he knew to be skeptical when you and yeonjun thought it a good idea to put on anything scary. He never said no to the movies because by the end of the night, you would be curled up next to him holding onto his shirt with a death grip. You would bury your face into his arm, wedging yourself behind his shoulder on the couch, asking when the scene was over so you could look.
It was cute to watch you, Kai spent most of the time giggling at your reactions, kissing away your fear. Yeonjun liked to jump the gun on being scared flinching before the scary part happened making you extra jumpy and sensitive to the feel of anything brushing against you. It would make you tighten your hold on Kai lightly kicking Yeonjun to tell him to stop, “you make it so much scarier when you do that! I never know when to close my eyes,”
“I can’t help it! The door creaking freaked me out,” both of you let out a scream when the killer jumped up on the screen.
Kai knew this was exactly how the night would go and for a few days, you would be clinging to him in bed and following him around the apartment when it started to get dark.
“So we don’t need a fun movie?”
“The scary movie is fun enough,” you shrug as Kai leans down to plant a kiss on your nose.
“Okay I warned you,” Kai says as you both move to catch up with Yeonjun.
The three of you are trying to decide what popcorn to pick. You and Yeonjun always need Kai to come in to make the final decision on anything. Kai never knew who to say yes to, wanting to please his hyung and his girlfriend he always suggested to pick both. “butter or kettle? pick kai,”
“umm,” you and Yeonjun giving pointed looks to pick the ‘right’ answer.
“Huening,” yeonjun warns, holding out his option in front of him.
You drop your shoulder giving a fake pout, “Yeah I guess yeonjuns is better,” and the act is already working, the basket in Kai’s hand already leaning towards you.
Yeonjun hooks his arm around your shoulders pulling you into him, “don’t fall for it, stay strong kai,”
“No really I’ll put mine back,” you say with no intention to follow through, your puppy dog eyes in full use on Kai. “it’s okay hyuka you don’t have to pick,”
“Let's get both, sweet and salty,” he caves, your smile his favorite treat.
“she’s a little devil you know that,” Yeonjun says pressing a kiss to your temple, “and you always give in,”
Kai shrugs, “She is so cute, how do you not give her everything she wants?”
“easy, just think about how hot she is begging,” you roll your eyes pulling yourself out of his hold.
“I’ll remember that one when you want anything,”
“Baby,” he whines as the three of you make your way to check out.
When in public Yeonjun was always more touchy, if you weren’t by his side he was looking for you to lean on or kiss. It was never more than a few light brushes of his lips. Most of the time people assumed the two of you to be the couple with Kai being a third wheel. Only Kai wasn’t into pda besides holding your hand and the rare kiss. And when riding in the car Yeonjun always drives with you in the passenger seat. Kai napping in the back or laughing at the two of you arguing in the front over directions. Kai holding the door open for you when getting out.
It was your favorite type of night with the three of you in the kitchen. It was a little chaotic with the space being so packed and Yeonjun is usually moved to cleaning duty or playlist handling because of how clumsy he is. huening always being given the ‘kiss the cook’ apron you bought on a whim, the fit making his shoulders look so broad.
The three of you wedged on the couch with your popcorn after dinner. The one bowl mixed with the two flavors sitting in your lap both the boys reaching over whenever they wanted some. Only now the bowl has been totally forgotten in front of you and you’re hiding your face from the screen.
“Are you scared?” Kai asks, his laugh caught on the end of the question.
“no,” you say, shaking your head but you’re not even trying to move your hand from your face.
“I am,” Yeonjun mumbles, face pressed into your shoulder. the loud slash of a knife comes from the screen and while Kai is as still as stone Yeonjun and you are jumping out of your skin. “no no no no!” Yeonjun says to the screen before he jerks back and hides against your shoulder again.
“Tell me when I can look huening. I don't know if I can take anymore,” you say, wrapping your arm around his to hold against your chest.
“it only just started,” he laughs his hand between your thighs, rubbing soothing circles on your skin.
“it’s morning in the movie i think you can look now,” yeonjun says picking up the popcorn bucket from the coffee table. But for the rest of the movie you spend only seeing parts of the screen. When it’s over and the lights are on you’re fully regretting having put the comfort movie back on the shelf.
“who’s idea was it to watch something so scary?” you ask knowing damn well it was your idea.
“Is someone regretting their decision?” yeonjun asks, picking up bits of popcorn from the couch, at one point the bowl tipped sideways after a particularly scary bit.
“You were complicit in that decision, it's not only my fault, right hyuka?” you’re still holding Kai in place not wanting to get up from a safe spot.
“Nothing is ever your fault,” Kai smiles, peppering kisses on your cheek.
“don’t lie to her huening, as I recall it was with her suggestion that we went out on Sunday and none of us made it to our Monday classes on time,”
“yeah that was kinda a bad idea,” Kai agrees, “my perfect attendance record is all messed up now,”
“you still showed up and we had a good night, win-win,”
“come on let's get to bed or we might ruin huenings perfect attendance more than it already is,”
but when you look down the dark hallway it is the last thing you want to trek down after what you just watched. “I mean one more movie won't hurt,”
“So we should have listened to me when I said to get the extra happy movie,” Kai moves his arm from your hold only to throw it behind you on the couch. Yeonjun lays back down next to you leaning against the armrest, the grey sweatpants he wears low on his hips.
“just one more I don't think I'll be able to fall asleep,”
“You know I do know something I could watch right about now,” Yeonjun tucks his arms behind his head. You’re hyper aware of your surroundings, still coiled from the movie so when Kai leans down to kiss your neck you feel it spread throughout your spine.
“Now that’s a good idea,” Kai mumbles against your skin, “and I’m sure you will be worn out enough after to fall asleep without any problem,”
“Are you using my fear as a way to get off?”
“well…” Kai starts but Yeonjun nods stating, “Kinda,”
“I think it just might work,” you say, moving around so that you straddle Kai, your arms slinking around his shoulders. He cups your waist in both hands with an easy grin on his lips.
Kissing Kai was always your favorite thing to do, he always started off so gently. Testing the waters as he gave you soft pecks, building up momentum as he found his footing before he was all over you. Kissing down your jaw, hands sliding up under the back of your shirt trying to pull you closer to him. and he was always hard after a few kisses, grinding on him making him vocal. Eyes closed and his brows creased, whining about you breaking away to pull your shirt off.
“Do you remember your first kiss?” Yeonjun asks getting comfortable, you turn to look at him, Kai sucking hickeys down your neck while you grind on him.
Every once in a while Yeonjun loved to bring up how the three of you got together. When everything was new and you three had no idea what you were doing. How he had been the one to suggest you get together after years of friendship, how one simple kiss ended with the three of you living together in the best relationship.
“not so easy to forget,” Kai kisses down your chest before sucking your nipple into his mouth, your back arching into him.
It hadn't been much different than this night when you asked if either of them had ever kissed someone before. Shyly wondering if you were falling behind, Yeonjun confessed that he had in fact kissed someone shrugging like it was nothing and saying it wasn't too exciting. ‘have you?’
‘no,'' you admitted even if it felt like with anyone else in the room they would make fun of you. ‘neither have I,’ Kai piped up blushing from ear to ear.
‘Maybe you two should just get it over with now. Be each other’s first,’ and you had listened to the suggestion. Kai and you leaning in and giving the softest kiss imaginable. ‘no not like that, like this,” and without much thought, you were making out with Yeonjun before he pulled away and pushed you back to huening, ‘your turn,’ the make out with Kai leading to the three of you finding any excuse to repeat the night.
“Now look at you, our needy girl putting on my favorite show,” you loved having his eyes on you, watching every little reaction you had to kai, eating up every sound, craving the sight of you falling apart. And it wasn't only Yeonjun who looked at you like that, Kai's hands slipped back to your waist guiding your hips to rock back and forth on him, your hands twisted in his hair as he looked at you like he belonged to you, like you set the stars in the sky.
Kai slipped off his shirt and you still had your shorts on and needed to take them off before they drove you insane. But Kai wasn't letting you up anytime soon, he pushed one hand into your waistband slipping right past your underwear to rub circles on your clit, moaning at the feel of you. “You're already so wet,” he whispers, exploring your folds. You rock your hips into his hand, his smile spreading as he slips two fingers into your entrance letting you fuck his hand, clit pressed onto the heel of his palm. His fingers are so long that they brush your g-spot with no problem and every time he does you stutter in your grinding. Arm wrapping around his shoulders pressing his face into your chest, “I'm gonna cum,” you whine feeling your orgasm build.
“Maybe you should stop huening,” Yeonjun shrugs, knowing it's the last thing Kai would do when he had you this close. He just loved the way you responded, that drawn out, “noo jjunie please,” your hips picking their pace, your hold on kai tightening before you were trembling over the edge, cumming on the edge of a cry. huening gave a few slow pumps of his fingers before completely removing them to place in his mouth, moaning at the taste of you.
You were already getting tired and standing up on shaking legs it was evident. But Kai tugged down your shorts and underwear for you before pulling you back to the couch. On your knees leaning over Yeonjun, he adjusted himself to sit up more, the bulge in his sweatpants clearly evident. “hi pretty,” he placed a kiss on your temple as Kai kneeled behind you.
Kai was wasting no time, the head of his cock brushing over your entrance making you shudder. when he pushed in the tip the both of you moaned, his slow entrance making you push back against him to try and get any more that he had to offer but he kept you back with his hand on your hip, “Wait baby I don't want to hurt you,”
one hand holding yourself up and the other holding yeonjuns you squeeze his fingers to try and keep yourself still. “I can take it hyuka,” you whine and Kai gives you small pecks on your back, edging in, “I know you can, you always take me so well,”
you can feel the stretch in taking Kai but it doesn't stop you from trying to push back again, kai’s throaty moan is loud when your ass is pressed flush with his pelvis.
Yeonjun gives a soft chuckle brushing your cheek with his thumb, “So impatient,”
Kai wraps one arm around your waist leaning over you and wraps the other around your chest using his hold to slowly pull back out before sinking back in. He barely pulls out again, “god you're sucking me right back in,” he moans trying to pick up his pace. You can feel his tip kissing your womb, every achingly slow drag of his cock brushing right where you need him. “How did I get so lucky, hum? My perfect girl taking me so good, so warm and wet for me,” you preen at the praise arching your back and feeling him slip deeper if it were even possible with how close the two of you are.
You're a whimpering mess when Yeonjun says, “Why don't you suck me off and get me all prepped and ready before I fuck you, okay?” his free hand pushes down his sweatpants to pull out his straining cock. Your mouth waters at the sight, face already close enough to kiss the tip. The warmth of your mouth makes yeonjuns hips jerk, hand wrapped around the base to keep himself in place. Every thrust from Kai makes your head bob forward sending Yeonjun deeper into your mouth. Your moans around him send chills up his spine as you lick up his pre-cum. An extra hard trust sends Yeonjun to the back of your throat and he has to pull out before he cums, not wanting to waste a single drop when he could pump you full of it.
“hyuka,” you cry knowing you're close but needing some kind of stimulation to push you over again.
“Tell me you want my cum,” Kai can hardly get the words out, “tell me,” he begs, punishing his cock into you.
“I want it, please, please,” and Kai pulls you up to sit you fully on his cock, stilling before you feel him twitching, hand pressed to your pelvis as he fills you with his cum. Your head falls back to rest against his shoulder before you jerk forward at the feel of fingers rubbing at your clit.
You give a shout as Yeonjun works your clit, leaning over to help you. Kais still throbbing inside you as you cum, pussy fluttering and overstimulating him, you would have fallen forward if Kai hadn't been holding you in place on him, his tip pressed onto your gummy spot making you cry out.
“Thank you,” you say trying to catch your breath when Yeonjun moves his hand away from you, but you don't know if you're thanking him for starting or stopping.
Kai slowly lays you down on the now empty couch, your hands cupping your breast so that your sensitive nipples don't rub against the fabric, cheek presses into the seat as you feel the gush of cum leave your heat, your thighs slick with it. If this was supposed to wear you out they had succeeded but Yeonjun hadn't had his turn and he wouldn't stop until he came at least once.
Yeonjun climbs up behind you leaning down to bite the side of your ass before he pulls away rubbing his thumb over the spot, admiring your body laid out before him. So easily compliant to his needs after Kai had his way with you, it was why he never cared if he had you first or not, watching was just as fun as fucking, and watching you twitch with overstimulation was his favorite. So he slipped his hand down between your folds spreading all the fluids through your folds brushing over your clit watching the way you trembled for him. He pushed your knees apart, angling your hips slightly up so that he could have access to you.
He was painfully hard as he slipped his tip along your swollen lips, no time for teasing anymore as he sank in. Yeonjun leaned his weight on you, wrapping his arms under you to grab your wrists, lips pressed to your temple as he gave slow, shallow thrusts. So warm and slick to slide in and out of he was a mess, every moan rumbling against your back and into your ear. “my pretty girl is always doing so good for us, hum? When I cum will you be good and keep it all in?”
You're at a loss for words, nodding along to everything he says, his body keeping your shakes to a minimum as he hits your g-spot, whimpering on a loop. “if you don't ill have to fuck you all over again. How many orgasms until you're so overstimulated I only have to blow on your clit to make you cum?” just the thought has you squeezing him, your gummy walls begging to be coated. “my pretty girl likes that idea huh? oh fuck I'm gonna-“ his fingers intertwining with yours, hips jerking his thrusts slowing until he completely stills inside you, moaning into your hair. The warmth of his cum is enough to make you climax right after him, wanting to pull away from the overstimulation but trapped under Yeonjun and left to feel it all. You're completely shaking under him as he gives you soft kisses on your cheek, making sure not to move so that you can have some time to whine down.
You are finding it hard to keep your eyes open when Kai leans down in front of you two, pushing stray strands of hair from your brow. “I got the bed all ready for you when you’re up for it,” he had already put on his pjs, a few damp cloths in his hands ready for clean up. “I even made sure all the lights are on so you won't get scared,”
“thank you hyuka,” you smile, Yeonjun finally pulling away, a soft whimper leaving your lips when he pulls out. Yeonjun takes one of the cloths from Kai, cleaning you up as gently as possible before you roll over so that he can get everything. You're not sure your legs are ready to walk just yet but Kai hands off the rest of the cloths to Yeonjun to finish cleaning himself and putting his sweats back on before grabbing his discarded shirt off the back of the couch to pull on over your head. Kai had gotten you a clean pair of panties to slide on, helping you before giving your knee a kiss.
Yeonjun leans over to plant a kiss on the top of your head, “Let's go finish up in the bathroom and head off to bed before all three of us are late again tomorrow morning,”
your knees feel a little weak as you stand but not too bad, both boys watching to make sure you're okay. “I'm fine,” you stand on your toes to give each of them a kiss on the cheek but your thighs are trembling, “neither of you fucked me hard enough to do much,” you playfully joke.
Yeonjun rolls his eyes raising his hand, “A challenge or a dis?” you move away from him giggling as you hide behind huening knowing if you got anywhere near Yeonjun he would slap you on the ass.
“Both?”
“oh okay so now you're playing with fire,” Yeonjun lunges forward ready to follow you all around the apartment if need be.
“Kai please protect me,” you say moving him in the way but he just wraps his arms around you holding you in place, you squirm as he kisses down the trail of hickeys he left behind earlier. “oh no you're not getting away with that one,” he passes you to Yeonjun who holds you in his arms giving you a playful scowl.
“I'm going to make you regret saying that,” he dips his nose down to yours before kissing you, you should have expected the slap on the ass as soon as you were distracted but you yelp anyways.
“I love you,” you say, pulling away from him before reaching back out for Kai, “and I love you. but I'd like to see either of you try,” and you take off down the hall to the bedroom, both of them following after you, laughing the whole way there.

Tumblr media
"Yeah, and the bullet went right through!"
Ever since her engagement to Lando Norris was announced, she'd been allowed to finally have fun. An arranged marriage sucked, but an arranged marriage between two people that had secretly been together for years didn't suck.
Lando sipped his drink. He himself was meant to be talking business for his father, but he was watching her, watching as she told the story of the time she got shot.
"I bet you've got a wicked scar," George Russell replied.
She held up a finger and passed him her drink. Lando watched, the horror not quite written on his face, as she hitched up her skirt to reveal a pretty grim scar.
Lando damn near choked on his drink. Any higher and her underwear would have been on show.
He didn't mean to march over to her, didn't mean to grab her skirts and lower them over her legs. "Hi, baby," he said, pulling her into his arms.
To anybody else, it looked like a sweet moment between a couple in love. But Lando leaned in close to whisper in her ear. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"Showing off my scar," she said almost innocently. But the smile playing on her lips revealed that she knew exactly what she was doing.
"Showing your scar off to George?"
She nodded and slipped her hands into his, gently swaying their bodies to the music. "I should take you home," he mused.
"What would you do with me at home?"
His answer was to take her hand and lead her through the hall. Fuck big fancy events.
Lando got her into the car. But, the minute he began driving away, she was slipping off her underwear down her legs and placing it in Landos lap.
"You little shit," he said as he pulled over.
It was late. The roads were quiet; there was no chance of anybody seeing them as Lando pulled her into his lap. He put his seat right back, giving them more room.
His hands gripped her ass. "You gotta stop showing off your scar, baby," he mumbled as he pulled her down onto him. "I don't like George seeing what's mine."
She pulled away from him, eyebrows raised. "What's yours?" She questioned, and Lando's cheeks flushed. "Try that again, Norris."
He gripped her tighter. "I don't like George looking at my girl."
"Better." She leaned down and kissed him.
Getting inside of her was easy work. Lando freed himself from his trousers and bunched up her skirts. Her hands were on his shoulders as she held herself up, allowing Lando to slip inside.
Content, she let out a sigh. "Think we'd crash if we drove home like this?" She asked, laying her head against his chest.
He gave an experimental thrust and she cried out, the noise involuntary. "You really wanna drive home like this?"
She wriggled slightly, and Lando gripped her, holding her still. "Well, think about it." When he thrust his hips towards her own, her words came out a stuttered mess. "If George saw us driving home like this, he'd never ask to see my scar again."
Any other words died in her throat as Lando began to move his hips, to well and truly fuck her. "Shit," she gasped, eyes squeezing shut and teeth meeting his shoulder. She didn't bite down, not hard enough to be considered a bite, anyway.
"'m hoping somebody does drive past," he said, lips meeting her neck, words muffled against her skin. "None of them would try flirting with you again."
She laughed, but her laugh was lost. He knew exactly what he was doing, exactly what put her on the edge. "Jealous, Norris?" It was such a struggle to get the words out, but a miracle that she'd managed it.
"Not... jealous," he answered through grunts. "Just... don't like my girl... being looked at... like... a piece... of... meat."
It had her tumbling over the edge, had Lando stilling inside of her. He kissed her head almost sweetly as the two of them laid against each other, attempting to catch their breaths.
"If you pull out you're gonna ruin my skirt," she mumbled, eyes shut, hand against his chest to feel his erratic heartbeat.
That was fine, they could sit there for a few minutes. Lando didn't mind holding her, but his clothes were sticking to his skin in the most uncomfortable way. "We gotta head home," he said, lips against her hair. "Get in the shower and stuff."
A groan left her own lips as she was lifted up. He slipped out and she climbed back in her seat. "Don't get anything on the leather," he mumbled, tucking himself back into his trousers.
Tucking her skirt under her ass, she made herself comfortable as Lando began driving home, his hand on her knee.

I have been in love with you as far as I can remember.
"If you were to watch the love of your life slowly fall in love with someone else, what would you do?" Asked the figure with a violet eyes and black hair. Its deep yet misty eyes stare at the two figure from afar then back at the woman in across it.
There the said woman followed were the figure with violet eyes were looking at. Looking at the scene, he was holding her close. He was holding her close that it was almost suffocating. Like something was stuck on her throat that she felt like throwing up.
"Are you okay?" It was the same figure with violet eyes that has been bothering her for a while now who snappened her out of her daze. "Love can be a dangerous game darling." Her eyes were glowing as if to warn her something. "Stop loving while its early." The hooded figure laughs, standing up from their seat as she continue to glare at the figure before it disappear from her sight.
She was left there in place, hands clench in a fist as she bit her lips. It was suffocating, her throat was itching. Something was happening. Something is starting. But what is it?
"Are you alright?" Rex Lapis asked as he gently and carefully approach her, but as soon as she look up to him, she could see her following closely behind. "Yeah. I'm alright."
I was here first. I met you first. I was there first. I was with you first. This means nothing to you, right?
Loving can be kind, but one must remember that love- loving can be dangerous. So dangerous.
She was so kind, so smart, so caring and lovely. Of course the adeptus were all over her for a reason, even him was no exception. "I honestly prefer your work over mind, what was Morax thinking when he chose mine?" She pout, sitting on the near vacant seat. Looking at her, a fake smile makes its way on her lips, "Is that so? Tell me about- cough!" "Oh my-! That sounded so painful, are you alright?!" "I'm alright.. If you'll exc- cough! cough!" She quickly stood up, hands covering her mouth. "Are you sure-!" "Move." "What was that-" Before Morax, Rex Lapis could even finish his sentence, she already run off.
Looking down at her hands in horror, there was blood. Then there was a single blue bloody petal. "What is thi-!" "I warned you didn't I?" She almost flinch but the perhaps, she had seen this coming. "What is happening to me?" She gasp, it was suffocating. For a while now, that suffocating feeling never went away.
"Pfffff haha" The hooded figure sigh like it cannot help it. "Asking something you already know?" She could not help but to glare at the fugure, hand curling into a fist, crushing the bloody petal. "It's the sickness of unrequited love. Hanahaki disease." Then the figure laugh, its violet eyes glowing. "I warned you, didn't I? Even the all mighty ones has their own demise."
Love is dangerous. It will bring you happiness until everything falls apart, tearing you into tiny little pieces.
I was there in your deepest darkest hours. I was there when no one was by your side. I was the one who pulled you away from darkness. I have always been by your side.
Series of claps can be heard as well as cheers as the two figure finally announced their relationship to the majority of the adeptus. And as much as she wants to do the same. She felt her throat itching like hell. Her sigh was getting deeper and deeper as time passed by, it was only a matter of time before she burst into fit of coughing. But she was all pretending everything was fine with a smile.
She held it in for a very long time until it was time for them to leave, she did not say a single thing. She just stood there in place, a smile on her lips. As soon as she was far away from hearing and sight. She crouch over to the ground as she burst out into a fit of coughing. Endless coughing.
She felt like she was dying, maybe she was. She cannot breathe, she felt like her lungs were being ripped apart. It hurts like hell that its killing her inside out. Tears rolling down her cheeks as she cough out bloody and fucking bloody white and blue petals. "Ah seriously-! cough- ugh!"
Is this the price to pay for loving-
"Tsk tsk. Look at you." Someone crouch down along side her. "Funny how humans and those immortal ones have something in common." Those belittling violet eyes, she wants to pull them out. "They all become a fool in love." "Regretting it now?" "Hahhhh... get out of my face."
Love is dangerous. But you know that didn't you? This is your choice.
"What should I do with you?" She was barely hanging on into consciousness. "This is such a foolish move." The figure tsked as it watches her die slowly. But it the major wounds on her body or suffocation. She had already accepted it. "Those wounds is fixable. It is the disease that is slowly killing you." The figure explain. "I can fix it but there is a consequence." That made her look at the hooded figure. "You'll have your emotions gone-" "They..." "???" "Are they okay?"
The figure halt. Then it laughed. "How crazy." "They're the reason why you're like this but even after all that you're still looking after them?" The hooded figure laugh for a long time then it looked back before disappearing without a trace, and not too long after that. Morax came on sight. His arms were trembling as he picked her up. She hated it, she hated the suffocating feeling in her chest that never went away even in these times. It was killing her. Like someone was tearing her lungs apart. Like somone planted a seed in there having its roots warped all around her lungs.
"Morax... Rex Lapis." She gasp, she was holding on into him for dear life. "Hush, come on. They'll be here in no time to heal you-" "My love.." She felt Morax stiffen. "My dear." She could barely breathe. "My lovely (First name)." "Guizhong-" "Morax... take care of her.. please?" She gripped on his arm. "I..." her eyes were teary. "I love her."
Just as Guizhong said that, the hands that was holding into him loosen. Slowly, Guizhong body starts to form a crack before it disintegrate into thin air. In her place leaving behind a bloody flower that was later known as Glaze Lily.
Love won't die, but it can kill you. You know?

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Tumblr media
I gasped and my eyes widened as I stared at the two beings in my living room. The one who spoke was a larger man. He appeared to have a dad bod underneath his white, purple and gold robe. The black mask he wore had two large horns attached and his golden facial features held a smug look. Behind him stood a female. She too wore a black mask, her horns curled inwards. She appeared to be wearing a black tunic with black skin tight pants and light gray thigh high boots to match. The crude white stitched mouth scowled at me, almost acting like I was wasting her time. I gulped, both sets of eyes watching me like a hawk. “W-who are you? What do you want?”
The masked man set down his bag of Doritos (which I realized were from my cupboard) and offered a hand. “The name’s Adam, sweetheart. I’m the First Man.”
I looked down at his hand and then back at him. He wiggled his eyebrows at me. “If you’re the First Man, does that mean that Lucifer sent you to come get me?”
I stepped back in fear as he cackled, holding his stomach. “Heavens no! I hate that son of a bitch!”
I lowered my guard a bit. “If you’re not with him, why are you here?”
Adam stopped laughing and brushed his robe. “I’ve come to take you to Heaven with me.”
“But I have no business there. I’m not even dead!”
“I can grant you permission. Let’s say it's one of the perks of being a celebrity.”
He pointed his fingers at me as if they were guns and he clicked his tongue. I looked between him and his companion. She tilted her head towards her master as if to say take his hand. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Come on! Lucifer can’t touch you while you’re on Holy ground. And I have a funny feeling he’d like to get his claws on you, if you know what I’m saying.”
I cringed in disgust at what he was implying. “Besides, I can be your bodyguard! I have special privileges being famous after all. And my wingspan is bigger than Lucifers!”
I looked down at my engagement ring. The snake seemed to coil tight around my finger as the eye glimmered, daring me to trust in the Heavenly man’s words. I bit my lip and looked up at him, his female companion now by his side. The sword at her side glinted and I could picture it ramming into my fiance. I could see the light leave his eyes and blood spill down his snow white skin. The betrayal would show on his face as it had mine when he took me to Hell. I felt my lips twitch into a smile as I realized that maybe, just maybe, these two were my allies. My eyes met Adam’s and I gave a quick nod. “I’ll go with you.”
His smile curled up by his eyes. “Good choice, babe. Lute prepare the portal.”
“Yes, sir.”
The woman stepped forward and raised her sword to the sky. She began to draw a symbol that looked like a cross and chanted under her breath. “In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, let these three souls enter Heaven freely.”
As soon as she finished, gold mist began to circle the ceiling. It began to sprinkle down around us, causing me to sneeze. “Bless you.”
“Thanks.”
I looked up and was amazed to see a bright blue sky and fluffy white clouds. Sunlight streamed down and it felt warm on my skin. “It’s ready, sir.”
“C’mon, babe! Let’s blow this popsicle stand!”
“Wait!”
I brought my fingers around my ring and forced it off. Relief flooded my body as I set it on the coffee table and I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I was finally free. “I’m ready now.”
I let out a squeak as he hoisted me up by my waist, his hand traveling a bit low to my butt. I didn’t have much time to think about it because his golden wings opened up and pushed us upwards. The wind from the angel’s wings swept my hair and I couldn’t help but let out a gasp. Even on a bright sunny day on Earth that sky couldn’t compare to Heaven’s. The blue of the sky was a bright baby blue and the clouds were the purest of white. I reached out a hand and laughed at how light the cloud felt passing through my fingers. “Beautiful isn’t it,” Adam questioned.
“It’s better than I could have ever imagined!”
“This isn’t even the best part.”
I focused my gaze ahead of us and my eyes widened. I could see a patch of clouds with bright pastel colored buildings, almost too bright to stare at. We landed on said patch and the mist surrounding the area brushed away, bowing to the First Man. Adam set me down and I was hesitant to place my full weight down. The cloud itself was soft and yet I didn’t fall through. Casting my eyes up, I saw a golden fence stretching a long distance that I couldn’t even begin to see the end of. In the middle was a set of golden doors creating a gate, pearls and diamonds adorning the bars. I gasped as I realized these were the Pearly Gates that people claimed to see as they passed on. As soon as it clicked, a short, blonde haired man with lightly saturated clothes and white wings appeared behind a podium. He flashed a smile with his pearly whites and beckoned us over. “Hiya! Welcome to Heaven! Can I get your name please?”
“Oh, um, Y/n L/n.”
He flipped to the appropriate page in his large book and when he found it he used his index finger to skim through all the names. He muttered under his breath as he searched, his eyebrows wrinkling after a few seconds. “Um, I’m not seeing you on my list. Perhaps you’re in the wrong place-”
“She’s with me, pretty boy.”
Adam crossed his arms and tapped his foot impatiently. “I told you not to call me that. It’s Saint Peter. Besides, she has to be on my list if she’s passed on. She’s dead, right?”
“No, but-”
“Adam, you can’t just bring living people here! It’s against the rules! Oh my goodness, what if He finds out-”
“He won’t! Now let us in, jackass!”
“I’m afraid I can’t allow that. I will not get in trouble again for your shenanigans!”
“You listen here-”
“What is going on here?”
All of us looked up to see two females flying down towards us. The one on the left was much taller than the one on the right. Both had gray dresses with purple and white accents. They landed in front of us and I could see them clearly. The one on the left appeared to be an adult woman with dark grayish brown skin. She had gray scaleras with white irises, long winged eyelashes and white freckles below her eyes. Her gray hair was long and was twisted into thick curls. A glowing white crown with blue jewels floated above her head as her black lips set in a frown. The one on the right looked like a child, her skin a lighter grayish brown tone. She too had white freckles under her blue eyes, the irises being an ombre of purple. Her light purple hair reached the hem of her dress and her black lips formed a pout. Both of their six white wings relaxed at their sides. “Sera, tell this dickhead to let us in! He has no right to keep us out here!”
“Sera, he brought in a human! One that has not yet passed on!”
The taller woman, Sera I assumed, raised her hand. “Enough. Let the girl speak on her own terms.”
Everyone turned their gaze towards me and I could feel my stomach twist in knots. My fingers fiddled with the fabric of my nightgown and I found my eyes were more interested in my bare feet. “Um, I’m Y-Y/n. I lived on Earth but Lucifer kidnapped me. He wants me to be his bride.”
I glanced back up at Sera and a shocked expression graced her features. In a second she flipped back to a more relaxed face, her black lips smiling at me. “My child, you have had quite the journey. Come.”
She moved to the side and gestured her hand towards the gate. I looked at Adam and he pushed me forward. “But, Sera-”
“It’s alright, Saint Peter. This is the one exception I will make.”
“Alright.”
He waved his hand and the gate opened, sunlight streaming through. I took a few hesitant steps forward and the four angels followed behind me. The buildings that I saw before glowed in the sunlight and the golden paved road appeared like marble. The two females stepped in front of me, calm smiles on their faces. “How rude of us to not introduce ourselves. I am Sera, the high Seraphim.”
She bowed her head as the child-like angel giggled. She bounced in front of me and was quick to take my hand, shaking it ferociously. “I’m Emily, the other Seraphim! But you can call me Emmy, Em, E, whatever. Welcome to Heaven!”
I smiled and pulled my hand away from her light grip. “Thank you. It feels so surreal being here honestly. I didn’t picture Heaven to look like this.”
“We are quite the close knit community. Everyone is friendly, polite and the nicest of the nice. We pride ourselves on being the best and most innocent of creatures,” Sera said.
“Oh you’re going to like it here, Y/n! We’ve got the most delicious food you’ll ever taste and the beds are like you’re sleeping on a cloud, they’re so soft! You can indulge in any hobby you like and we even have ice cream with rainbow sprinkles!”
I chuckled at Emily’s enthusiasm. “Sounds like fun. Where might I be staying, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“You’ll be with me, toots. I have several bedrooms in my bachelor pad.”
Adam wrapped an arm around my shoulder. His fingers played with the strap to my nightgown and I felt a pit in my stomach as he slid it down my shoulder. His black fingers caressed the skin and I couldn’t help the shiver that ran down my spine. I didn’t know what was worse: Lucifer’s gentle touch or Adam’s commanding one. “How about we get you something new to wear. Lute, take Y/n and get her some new clothes. While I enjoy seeing those pretty shins of yours Y/n, I prefer to see them just for myself.”
His fingers slightly dug into my shoulder and I gulped. Was he being possessive or was it just my imagination from being around Lucifer? Lute signaled for me to follow her and as we walked the golden road I wondered if I truly was in a better place. I thought back to Earth and how I longed to be there with S/o. I wondered if he was looking for me or if somehow the Devil made him forget all about me. I held onto the hope that he was searching everywhere, calling everyone he knew and scouring every town in our state. “Hey, pay attention! We’re here.”
“Sorry.”
I hadn’t noticed Lute had opened a wooden oak door and was pointing at it. I walked in and she shut it behind us. I looked around the room as she rummaged through a closet. The purple floor was made to look like tiled marble and the light blue walls were a pastel version of the sky. The bed itself was King size and had purple sheets and blankets to match. A white knit duvet laid over top and the whole thing looked so soft. A nightstand with a purple based lamp stood on either side of the oak headboard, a wooden oak desk stood under a stained glass window, a purple wooden dresser stood next to the door, and the purple closet was next to another wooden door. Lute walked over and threw a pile of clothes at my chest. I looked up at her and could feel the anger behind her mask. “This will be your room. Bathroom is behind that door. Change and roam around as you like. Just don’t disturb Adam or myself. We’re busy people, got it?”
I blinked in shock at her tone. Why was she so displeased with me? It was Adam’s idea to bring me here. When I didn’t answer, she grabbed me by the hair and pulled. I shrieked as searing pain tugged at my scalp. “I said, got it?”
It sounded like she was gritting her teeth. I nodded my head rapidly. “Yes, yes! I got it!”
As she let go, she pushed me and I landed on the edge of the bed. “Just because you're in Heaven doesn’t mean you’ll get Heavenly treatment. You’re only here because Adam said so. If it was my choice, you would still be rotting in Hell being Lucifer’s bitch.”
She scoffed and turned, her heeled boots clicking against the tiled floor. I sat in disbelief even as the door slammed behind Lute. Clearly she despised me. The question was why. It took me a few minutes to get over the awkward exchange, finally looking down at the pile of clothes. Lute had chosen a boring arrangement: a white tank top, a golden jacket that was just the neck, shoulders and puffy sleeves, dark purple puffy harem pants, and black gladiator sandals. While I matched Adam's color scheme, Lute made it so I didn't stand out. I sighed and walked to the other wooden door. Opening it, it did house a bathroom like she said. I stepped in and locked the door behind me. Sure, everyone is supposed to be friendly, but with the way Adam made me feel uncomfortable I was not risking my safety. The bathroom held a toilet, shower, and a white marble counter with a sink. Silently I stripped down and put on the angelic garments. I had to admit while the clothes Lucifer gave me were soft, these felt, well, heavenly. I looked at myself in the mirror above the counter. I looked so pale from receiving no sun down in Hell and my eyebags matched the purple of my pants. I sighed and turned the faucet onto cold water. The frigidness felt nice against my fingertips as I tested the temperature. Satisfied, I splashed water onto my face and rubbed it in thoroughly. I breathed in deep and looked at myself in the mirror once more. My cheeks felt a bit warm from the cool contact, but I felt a bit better nonetheless. Drying my hands on a towel hanging on a metal bar behind me, I unlocked the bathroom door and headed back into the bedroom. As I was trying to figure out where I was going to explore first, I heard two voices. Curious, I stepped to my bedroom door and opened it slowly. Nobody was in the hallway, but I could hear the muffled conversation taking place next to me. Hesitantly, I walked into the hall and to the golden door next to mine. I put my ear up close to the wood. I couldn’t tell exactly who was talking to one another, but from what I knew it sounded like Adam and Sera. “-can’t believe you would bring her here, Adam! Do you know how dangerous your actions are?!”
“Chill out, drama queen. Nothing is going to fucking happen, okay.”
“You don’t know what Lucifer is capable of.”
“The motherfucker hides during the exterminations. You really think he’d try and come up here?”
“Yes! When Lucifer desires something he won’t stop till it’s in his grasp. I fear he will make quite the grand entrance to come and retrieve his beloved.”
“Oh please. Even if he does come, I’ll have her wrapped around my finger to the point she’ll obey my every order.”
My eyebrows scrunched together. I could only assume they were talking about me. But why would Adam want me to comply with him? It’s not like I found him attractive or was even remotely interested in him. My ears caught onto light footsteps headed for the door, so I quickly rushed around a corner. I watched as Sera entered the hall, a look of disappointment gracing her features. She sighed and floated the opposite direction of me, Adam soon following after. I let my hands slip down to my sides and decided to take a walk to mull over the whole situation.
I didn’t really pay attention to where I was going, just focusing on my feet lifting up and down as I walked. It wasn’t till I heard ocean waves that made me stop. I looked to my left to see a gorgeous beach sitting in the distance. How odd.
I felt myself drawn to the calming sound of the tide seeping in and out as I made my way over. The wooden steps below my feet squeaked a bit and soon the white sand seeped around my sandals. I stopped at the water’s edge and closed my eyes. The breeze off the sea brushed against my flesh, the warmth feeling like a hug from a loved one. The smell of the salt reminded me of when S/o and I traveled a few towns over from ours to visit an aquarium. The animals were held in their natural waters behind glass panes, but the smell of rich salt permeated the air wherever you went. “Enjoying your freedom?”
My eyes shot open and I spun around. Laying on a long white beach chair was a taller woman. Her long blonde hair blew a bit in the breeze and caressed the top of the sand. She wore a dark purple sun hat with a lighter purple band, a dark purple bikini set, and purple rimmed sunglasses. Even though I couldn’t see her eyes, her aura wasn’t threatening. “W-what did you say?”
“I said enjoying your freedom, dearie?”
“Um, I guess. I mean I just got here so I wouldn’t know-”
“Come closer.”
I was taken aback by her tone. Though she was in a relaxed position, her voice was commanding, authoritative. I gulped and did as she requested. I stopped by her bare feet and could feel her eyes scanning me up and down. She hummed and her lips twitched into a small smile. “So you’re the one Lucifer is obsessed with now. I’ll admit I can see why. A pretty thing like you probably reminds him of the swans he would keep in gilded cages. While they weren’t ducks per say he found their beauty and grace appealing.”
I could feel my cheeks heat up at her compliment. “T-thank you?”
She chuckled and leaned back, soaking up the sun. “Your wedding will be the talk of Hell for quite a few months, I reckon. It’s not often that the King lends out his heart. You must be very special to him.”
“I found him as a snake. He was wounded and I patched him up. God, if only I hadn’t touched him I wouldn’t be in this mess.”
The woman scooted her feet over and patted the empty space on her chair. I sat sideways so I was able to glance at her. “So he took the form of a snake, eh? He hasn’t done that since he offered the apple to Eve. I always did find it interesting how slippery he could be, even when not in his snake form.”
“He’s so clingy. I hardly have any time to myself, he is always by my side. His claws touch me tenderly and when I look into his eyes all I can see is adoration. It’s disturbing.”
“Possessive as always. Perhaps your presence eases his depression.”
“I guess. I just don’t understand why he can’t get it through his head that I don’t want to be with him.”
“It’s called ego, darling. His pride gets the better of him. It doesn’t help that he’s the sin of it either.”
I brought my hand up to sit in my lap and found myself fidgeting with the finger my engagement ring had been on. “Apparently he’s so in love with me that he forgets he was married before. I realize his wife, Lilith I think her name was, left him seven years ago but he acts like I’m his first love.”
The woman was silent for a moment, the calm of the tide being the only sound between us. “Sounds like he’s just trying to find someone who makes him happy.”
“Yes, but at the expense of my own happiness.”
The woman opened her mouth to say something, but a familiar voice made us both look up at the wooden stairs. Emily stood waving her arm, a giant smile on her face. “Adam said you’d be out wandering so I thought I’d catch up and show you the ropes!”
“Sounds like fun.”
“Come on! I have so much stuff to show you!”
I chuckled and stood up from the chair. Just as I started to walk away, the woman’s hand clung to my wrist. Her grip was firm but gentle, making me turn back towards her. With her free hand she slid her sunglasses down her nose just enough to see her eyes. My eyes widened to see her light purple irises gleaming at me. “Please take care of him for me, Y/n. I can tell he truly loves and adores you.”
She raised my hand to her lips and left a light kiss on my knuckles. “Y/n, come on!”
The woman let me slip my hand from her grasp and as I slowly walked away she pushed her sunglasses back up. I was dazed as I reached Emily on the stairs, still reeling from what the woman had said. “Oh I’m so excited to show you everything! I think I’ll take you to the park first, ooo! Or I could take you to the zoo! We’ve got all of the animals Noah had on the Ark and more!”
I didn’t say anything as she grabbed my hand and pulled me away. Before we got too far I looked back at the woman, her hair blowing in the breeze.
I didn’t really pay much attention to what Emily was showing me or what she was saying. I was too focused on my conversation with the woman on the beach. Her eyes felt so familiar to me and yet I couldn’t place where I had seen them before. “/n? Y/n? Are you listening?”
I shook my head to see the young Seraphim looking at me concerned. “Huh?”
“I asked what you thought of the sunset. Isn’t it pretty?”
I followed her arm to see her pointing ahead of us. The clouds around us had turned pink, orange and light purple while the Sun had been cast to be a golden orange. “Yeah, it’s cool.”
“Are you okay? You seem distracted.”
“It’s nothing.”
“You can tell me anything. I’m here for you.”
Emily placed a hand on my shoulder, her thumb rubbing light circles. While the offer was tempting I didn’t know if I should tell her anything. I mean what did she know about Lucifer? Would she understand how the woman and I had connected while talking of the Devil? I looked over at her and could feel a wave of calm hit. Emily had this aura of trust and care surrounding her; her eyes sparkled and a friendly smile was placed on her black lips. I let out a sigh. “The woman I was with on the beach. Who is she?”
The angel looked puzzled, holding her chin in between her index finger and thumb. “I’m not entirely sure. She just showed up one day with Adam and Lute. I tried to talk to her but she brushed me off. Come to think of it, she only really talks to Adam. Why do you ask?”
“It’s just that she knew about Lucifer and I are to be wed soon. She also had information that isn’t known to the general public.”
“Maybe she heard it somewhere? I’ve heard Sera talk about Down Below every once in a while.”
“No, she knew too many details to have heard it in passing. Besides, she told me to take care of him, almost like she knew him personally. It was like she was giving me her blessing.”
“How mysterious.”
The two of us stood watching the sky slowly paint itself to night. It was refreshing to see something that S/o and I would watch any chance we got. “Y/n, may I ask you a question?”
“Sure.”
“What’s it like on Earth?”
I blinked a few times, stunned by her question. “You’ve never been?”
“No. I was created way after Lucifer fell. My only purpose is to make the winners happy and enjoy their eternal life here in Heaven. Sera doesn’t view my position as something needed in everyday human life.”
I hummed and stared at the night sky. A shooting star passed by and I smiled in wonder. “I find it to be a lovely place. The town I live in is a nice community. Everyone knows their neighbors and it was the kind of place where if someone had a barbeque, everyone in the neighborhood was invited. I live by myself in a small house. It was kind of like an apartment but with no roommates. I even have my own little garden out back. It is my pride and joy.”
“That sounds amazing. Do you have any significant others?”
“I do. His name is S/o and he’s my world. Before I was kidnapped we didn’t have much time to spend with one another due to our work schedules. But when we were together, my god those were the best times. He made me feel like the most special girl in the universe.”
I smiled upon remembering my dear boyfriend. The memories of us on dates or him telling a stupid joke that I’d laugh way too hard at flooded my head. Tears gathered in the corners of my eyes and I was quick to wipe them away. I choked back a sob and tried to focus on the stars. I didn’t want to become a crying mess in front of Emily. “Hiya, toots~”
The young angel and I turned to see the First Man standing behind us, his arms crossed in front of him. “It’s getting late, babe. Hows about you and I get to bed, hm?”
I looked at Emily, who gave me a curt nod. “I suppose.”
I walked up to him, only for him to snuggle me up to his side. “Thanks for watching her, Em! Go get yourself an ice cream or some shit.”
Before I could even say goodbye, Adam was dragging me back to my bedroom. He threw open the door and lightly pushed me inside. I stumbled and turned to look at him. “Alright, sweetheart. I’ll see you in the morning. If you need anything, and I mean anything, give me a holler. I’m right next door. Night, babe!”
He threw up a rock symbol on his right hand before slamming the door shut. What is with angels and slamming doors?
I shook my head and went to the closet. I looked in disgust at the pajama choice: a light pink babydoll nightgown with ruffles around the chest area and hem. I searched to see if there were any other options. Unfortunately, there were none. I headed to the bathroom with my pj’s and locked the door behind me. Stripping down, I slid on the nightdress. Looking in the mirror, I cringed at how short it was. I tried to pull the hem down but it stayed around my upper thigh. Growling in frustration, I unlocked the door and headed to the bed. I flipped back the covers and climbed in. I shifted around a bit to try and get comfortable. Even though the mattress was like a cloud, I preferred my bed back home. There I could have S/o’s arms wrapped around me as we cuddled. My homemade quilt and weighted blanket would keep us warm in the Queen sized bed. I could feel the tears from earlier gather in my eyes and slide down onto the pillowcase. I wrapped my arms around my midsection and curled into a ball. I ended up crying myself to sleep.
Over the next few days I found myself next to Adam’s side nearly all the time. The only time I was separated was when I was in the bathroom or when I was sleeping. Even being in the supposed happiest place for death I found myself very uncomfortable. Adam constantly had his hands on me: playing with the straps of my tops, smacking my butt, massaging my shoulders and hips, and his fingertips “accidentally” scraping my boobs. It didn’t help that Lute would constantly glare at me and her face would be pulled into a snarl. I suppose she thought I was disobeying her order to stay away from her master.
I thought about my interactions with the two as I pulled back the covers, getting ready to go to bed. A knock on my door made me pause. It was pretty late so I was confused as to who could be there. “Come in.”
The door slowly opened to reveal Adam. I gagged at how strong his cologne was as I could smell it all the way to where I was. “Um, hey Adam. What can I do for you?”
His footsteps sounded heavy on the tiled floor and the door shutting behind him felt like a blade stabbing into my heart. He lifted his hand and my breath caught in my throat when I heard the lock. I backed up but I felt the bed behind my knees. The First Man stopped right in front of me and allowed his lips to quirk into a deep grin. His hands came up and started to slide the nightgown straps down. Disgusted, I slapped his hands away and went to shove him. As my hands pushed on him, he was quick to grab my wrists and hold them to his chest. “You look so hot, babe. I was right to pick out this pj set. You fill it out perfectly.”
“Let go of me!”
I struggled to pull my hands away but his grip didn’t falter. “Adam, let go! Y-you’re scaring me!”
“Just go with the flow, sweetie. Can’t you see this was meant to be?”
He pushed me onto the bed and before I could get up he pounced on top of me. I was about to hit him but he pinned my wrists on either side of my head. He leaned down and began to kiss my neck. His lips were sloppy and he brought his tongue to lick against my vein. “I’m going to make you forget all about that fucking Morningstar. All that you’re going to have on your mind is the original Dickmaster.”
As he brought his lips down to kiss mine, I let out a growl and threw my leg upwards. I heard him let out a cry of pain before he fell onto the floor clutching his privates. “My balls! My fucking balls! God dammit, Y/n!”
With fear guiding me, I stumbled to the door and fumbled with the lock. “Come on, come on, come on, come on!”
My fingers shook as I heard Adam rise, a groan leaving his lips. “I was going to play nice, toots. I really was. But it seems you want to play hard to get!”
I heard the lock click and I quickly threw the door open. I sprinted down the hall as I heard Adam yell after me. Adrenaline coursed through my veins as I ran faster than I ever had. My escape was futile though as I slammed into a muscular body. I looked up to see Lute, her mask off to reveal a white bob and yellow eyes. I was frozen as I heard Adam huffing behind us. “Good job catching her, Lute!”
“What would you like me to do with the bitch?”
“Lock her in a cell.”
“Anything else?”
“Hit her or something for kicking my balls. That shit hurt.”
“Of course, sir.”
I cried out as Lute grabbed my hair and pulled me down the hall. I tried to pull her hand off but she just tightened her hold. With the pace we were going, the two of us ended up at a dark wooden door. Lute opened it and walked me to the middle of the dimly lit room. She opened the black metal door to the cell and threw me inside. I groaned as I felt my knee scrape against the cold cobblestone floor. I looked up at the angel who sent daggers into my soul with her gaze. “I told Adam you were trouble, but he insisted we bring you here. And after all the hospitality he showed you…you go back on his trust.”
“By hospitality do you mean perverted-” I growled out.
Lute brought her leg up and kicked my cheek. I landed harshly on my side and spit out some blood that oozed from my teeth. “Don’t speak of him like that.”
“Why? It’s not like he’s a saint!”
She growled and drove her foot into my stomach. I howled as sharp pain blossomed. “He’s better than you could ever be! I mean look at you. While he’s up here in Heaven you’re Down Below sucking Lucifer’s cock.”
Her foot hit my stomach again and I could feel bile rise in my throat. “How does it feel to know you’ll never achieve anything? Your legacy will be known as the Devil’s little whore and that’s all you're good for.”
I gave her a smirk before I coughed. “At least I probably give better head than you.”
Her eyes widened before they returned to slits. With her teeth clenched, she brought her right fist into my mouth. I felt my bottom lip split as some blood came shooting out. “Oh, triggered are we? Is this because you have pent up sexual frustration for your leader? Is that some kind of kink you’re into: master and servant?”
“Shut the hell up!”
Grabbing my hair, she slammed my head into the stone floor with a warrior cry. My vision blurred and the room felt like it was spinning. With her hand still tangled in my locks, Lute brought my head up and down several times to meet the floor. My cheekbone felt like it was on fire and I figured the bone was probably shattered with the force of me hitting the ground. “Think you’re tough shit, huh? I can tell you’re just a scared little girl. You were never meant for Heaven, even if you weren’t branded as Lucifer’s slut.”
I could feel my anger boiling. How dare she call me such vile names. “You think I chose this life? Hell no! I was fine being on Earth with my boyfriend!”
“Yeah right. You probably summoned that dirty retch. Why’d you do it? Did you want fame? Money? The glory of saying you fucked the King of Hell?”
“I didn’t do any of that shit! If I had it my way I would have never helped that stupid snake in my garden! Then maybe I wouldn’t be forced to be a bride against my will! Or better yet, then maybe I wouldn’t have met you or your motherfucking boss!”
She yelled in fury and brought her foot up to meet my chest. I landed on my back and the air left my lungs. I heaved in oxygen as she kept kicking me. I swear I heard ribs cracking under pressure. Lute didn’t stop there. She slammed her gray heeled boot onto my fingers and I couldn’t help but let out a scream. “That’s it! Scream, little girl! Pray that your hellish Daddy comes to save you!”
“S-shut up!”
I felt whiplash as her foot dug into my cheek, blood spilling down my bruised lips. “You know what we consider people like you? Fallen. Maybe I should cut your wings like we do all the others?”
“N-no!”
She roughly turned me over so that my back was facing her. I attempted to stand when I heard the sound of fabric ripping and cool air hitting my back. Lute however stomped me into the ground, her heel digging into my flesh. I heard her sword being unsheathed and saw its angelic light bounce off the cell wall. “I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean anything I said! Lute, p-please!”
She let out a cruel laugh and I yelped at her heel digging in further. “You’re pathetic, you know that? If you were half the woman that Adam claimed you to be, you wouldn’t go back on your word. Some advice for you, sweetie. If you say a threat, really mean it.”
I screamed as her sword pierced into the left side of my back. There had to be some kind of special angelic powers attached because this hurt way worse than when I would accidentally slice my finger while cooking. Lute reveled in my cries as she dragged the blade around forming some shape. Tears fell rapidly from my eyes as I slammed my fist down into the cold floor, trying to focus on something other than the pain radiating in my back. I was relieved when I felt the weapon retract, but the relief was short lived. A blood curdling shriek ripped through my throat as the sword entered the right side and began drawing a similar shape to its predecessor. Lute seemed to take her time, enjoying my wails bouncing off the walls. She harshly pulled the sword out and resheathed it. “While I would love to carry on my tradition of licking the blood of my enemies off my blade, I don’t want to taint my Holy body with your sin.”
“W-what did you d-do,” I stuttered under my breath.
I could sense a smirk gracing her features as she rounded in front of me. Reaching under my armpits, she hoisted me up and threw me against the wall. I cried out as the rough stone dug into my newly acquired wounds. “I just cut the wings off the fallen, dare I say, angel. Oh who am I kidding? You’re no angel. You’re not even as worthy as the dirt beneath my feet.”
“F-fuck you.”
I grit my teeth as she harshly gripped my chin, forcing me to look into her eyes. “What did I say about empty threats, sweetie? Or do I need to remind you?”
I shook my head as a dangerous smile overtook her face. “No, I think you need the reminder.”
Her hand moved to my throat and she made sure to drag my back up the wall as she let me hang. I weakly kicked my legs as I tried to get her to release me. I could feel my body shutting down as Lute squeezed. I was pretty sure I’d have bruises where her fingers lay. My hands started to slide off of hers as my vision began to get a black haze around the edges. “What is going on here?”
Lute let go of me in her haste and my butt collided hard with the ground. I couldn’t see who had entered as I heaved in deep breaths. “Miss Emily, what are you doing up? It’s late. You should get to bed. Here, let me escort you.”
“What were you doing, Lute?”
“Oh, um, I was taking care of a prisoner.”
I could see a familiar head peek around my attacker’s body, a gasp leaving the young Seraphim’s lips. “Oh my goodness! Y/n!”
Emily rushed past and cradled me in her arms, her hand gently rubbing my bruised cheek. “What have you done?! Y/n didn’t do anything to you!”
“On the contrary Miss Emily, Y/n here has committed a major sin. She rejected the orders of the First Man and I was told to punish her in any way I saw fit.”
“I rejected him because he wanted sex. You left that part out,” I hissed, my throat raw from screaming.
Lute bit her lip and I could see she was dying to cuss me out. “I could forgive Adam’s behavior up until now, but this, this is unforgivable! I need to talk to Sera about this. Violence isn’t the answer and neither is attacking innocent people!”
I could see a shadow cast over the white haired angel’s face and her hand reached for her sword. “There’s no need to discuss this with Sera.”
My eyes widened as her sword was unsheathed next to her side. Emily must have sensed something was off as well because her arms trembled around me. “Lute, w-what are you doing? Put your sword away n-now!”
“I can’t risk you running and tattling to Sera. Who knows what she’ll do to us. Adam and I belong here in Heaven! We’re doing good in God’s name! We will not be cast Down Below!”
She raised the blade and brought it down quickly towards Emily’s head. She screamed and with a newly found inner strength I forced myself up. I let out a warrior cry as I brought my arm up to protect my face, the sharp weapon making contact with my left shoulder. I heard fabric ripping and a glass shattering shriek from the young Seraphim. Glancing down I saw my arm was missing, it lying discarded on the dungeon floor. I let out a shaky gasp and stumbled into the wall. “Y/N!”
I went to go to Emily’s side but Lute stabbed her sword into my right shoulder, effectively pinning me to the wall. I screeched and realized there was nothing I could do. I helplessly watched as the evil angel went for the younger girl’s throat. However, a punch to her face made her drop Emily. She grunted as her head smacked the wall next to me and her body slid down to the floor. I looked towards our savior and felt the color drain from my face. There stood Lucifer, six red and white wings displayed behind him. His eyes were completely red as tall, curvy, red horns grew from his forehead. A flame hovered between them and the snake that usually rested on his hat was now wrapped around the tip of his horns. From this distance it looked like his sharp teeth had grown longer, his canines more prevalent. Lute grunted as she sat up holding her cheek, golden blood trickling from a cut. “You BASTARD! You can’t hurt an angel on Holy ground!”
“The rules don’t apply to FUCKING SCUM LIKE YOU! How DARE you lay your filthy hands on MY BRIDE!”
He rushed forwards and sent a hard punch to her gut. Lute let out a cry of pain before Lucifer grabbed her by the feathers around her throat. Her muscular legs kicked violently, her white gloved hands digging into black hands. I could hear the crunch of her neck bones breaking, golden blood flying out her mouth onto the Devil’s claws. “I can think of so many ways I can torture you with. What should I start with first, hm? I could pluck those white and black feathers from your wings and have them decorate a cape for my darling; Or I could have my snakes bite you all over your body as you screamed and writhed in agony. Oh yes, their venom would enter your bloodstream and there would be nothing you could do as it slowly overtook you, boiling your insides to ash; Or I could break each bone in your body beginning with your fingers and leaving your neck. After everything was broken and you felt that pain, I could slowly saw off each limb, starting with the tops of your fingers and going down each joint. I think I would like that! And after every vein, tendon, muscle and bone was cut off your body I could give them to Cannibal Town to feed the residents as a treat from their King. Just before you died, I could cut out your tongue, eyes and ears and give them to Alastor. I don’t know what the Radio Demon would do with them, but I know he’d find a way to make them useful. And as you would crash from blood loss, I would place your head on a spike outside my palace. It would be a reminder to not mess with me or my fucking bride! Oh, I’d have fun torturing your soul as surely Heaven wouldn’t want you as my hellish hands corrupted your purity!”
Lute bared her teeth and her legs started to slow down to a small wiggle. I watched on in horror as he threw her at the wall on the opposite side of the room. As he stomped towards her, Emily ran to my side. She took off the shawl around her shoulders and wrapped it around my left shoulder. She pulled it tight to try and staunch the bleeding. I hissed as the pressure sent shooting pain to my remaining nerves. Lucifer’s black tail flicked up and down, acting like a scorpion's. My pupils shrunk as I watched him wrap his fist around one of Lute’s wings. She scratched at him as he tugged, a scream ripping from her throat. “That! Is for even bringing my dear apple up here!”
He gripped her other wing and tugged, more bloodied feathers in his fist. “That! Is for throwing her around!”
He went back and forth ripping more and more feathers from each wing, a pile growing behind Lucifer as he called out something harmful Lute had done to me. “Get off me, you motherfucker!”
The Devil brought up one of his feet, slamming the heel of his black leather boot into her eye socket. I shrieked as he kept at it, more golden blood dripping down as her face was slowly being caved in. I couldn’t watch this any longer.
“LUCIFER, STOP!”
His foot was in midair as it froze. He looked over his shoulder at me. I scrunched my eyebrows together and let pleas slip past my bruised lips and raw throat.
“PLEASE, STOP! Just stop! You’ve done enough damage!”
He scowled and brought his foot down, turning to face me completely. White irises surfaced on top of his red scaleras, softening as they stared at me. “Y/n, she could have killed you! By God, your arm has been lobbed off! Why do you plead mercy for a disgusting soul like hers? She and Adam should suffer for what they have done to you!”
“It’s not worth it! Killing her won’t rewind time or heal me. Just, just let her be.”
He sighed and looked down at Lute’s crumpled body. I could hear her labored breathing so I knew she was still alive, just in a fatal condition. He walked over and crouched before me. Those white eyes of his were filled with rage and determination, but not directed towards me. He brought his hands up to my cheeks, tenderly rubbing them with his thumbs. “Okay. But I need to remove this weapon from your shoulder. I’m not going to lie, this’ll hurt like hell. Emily, stabilize her.”
“O-of course.”
The young girl moved her hands from my missing arm to underneath my armpits and Lucifer grabbed the hilt of the sword. “I apologize for the pain this’ll bring, my dear. I’ll go as fast as I can without the risk of damaging your nerves.”
I nodded and with that he pulled. I cried out in pure agony. Emily hushed me in an effort to make me feel better but all I could focus on was the pain. When the sword was fully out of my shoulder, Lucifer patted the top of my head and gave it a gentle kiss. He stood and turned back towards Lute, who had pushed herself up so she was in a sitting position. With the sword by his side, my fiance slowly stalked forward until he stopped in front of the fallen angel. I couldn’t see her due to Lucifer’s wings spread out but maybe he had done that on purpose. “You should thank my dear apple. She has shown you mercy in a time when she shouldn’t be so kind. But her kindness is one of the reasons I fell for her.”
I felt a sudden tension in my body. He had agreed to not do anything so why did I feel so uneasy? Suddenly he thrust forward and from the feminine scream that bounced off the walls I could tell he had stabbed her. “But on the other hand, I’m not so merciful. I am the King of Hell after all. What is it that you angels say about me? That I’m a rotten, purely evil, husk of a man who should have choked on his own apple while a snake hung me from a tree in the Garden of Eden? Well let me live up to my title. Let me show you how rotten and purely evil I can be!”
“Lucifer, no,” I cried.
He pulled the sword out of wherever he had stabbed it and lifted it above his head. He brought it down with a yell of fury and I screamed as golden blood sprayed everywhere. I squirmed as some of it had splattered across the room onto Emily and I. It was warm and sticky against my legs and face. I wondered if Lute was even alive after that blow. “You. Sick. Fuck! You’re a monster, you know that?!”
I was shocked to hear the female sidekick, even if her voice was shaky. “I don’t care! I don’t care what others think of me! The only one I need is Y/n! She’s MY darling! MY little apple! MY light! And no one, not even the fucker up here who calls himself Father, CAN TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME!”
My eyes widened and I couldn’t tell if it was Emily or I who was trembling the hardest.
He was crazy.
Absolutely batshit insane.
I finally realized how deep his obsession for me ran.
He cackled like a lunatic, throwing his head back. His whole body shook with how hard he was laughing. He brought the angelic weapon up again and swung down-
"LUCIFER!”
All of us froze. There in the doorway stood Sera, a multitude of eyes surrounding her gray curls. Her fists were balled at her sides as she walked in. “What is the meaning of this?!”
Lucifer didn’t even look at her, too focused on his prey in front of him. “I’m acting in self defense. Aren’t I, Emily?”
Sera looked at the two of us and Emily squeaked. “Is this true, Emily?”
“I-I-I-”
“Be truthful, my child. I don’t want you scorned for siding with the embodiment of evil.”
“...He saved us, Sera! Lute, she, she, she was going to kill me! If Mister Morningstar hadn’t stepped in both Y/n and I would be dead!”
The High Seraphim was taken aback, her eyes fading from her hair. “What?”
“Hey, what’s with all the commotion? Some people are trying to sleep-”
My gaze saw Adam walk in behind Sera, his mouth allowing a yawn to pass. The pit in my stomach grew as I feared how he would react when he saw the state of his right hand woman. Sure enough his eyes landed on her and his body tensed. “Holy shit…Lute.”
His hands balled up next to his sides and his eyebrows scrunched over the top of the golden eyes on his mask. “You, motherfucker! You, son of a bitch! You could have killed her-”
A screech ripped my throat as Lucifer whipped around and sliced through Adam’s arm. It flopped to the floor and a chorus of fear filled the air. The First Man was quick to grab his open wound, liquid gold coating his fingers. “What the fuck. What the fuck! WHAT THE FUCK! YOU CUT OFF MY ARM, YOU ASSHOLE!”
With Lucifer turned I could see the fire burning in his eyes. He was scaring even Sera, her taking a step back. “What is it they say? An eye for an eye? Well in this case it’s an arm for an arm.”
“YOU, DICKBAG! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!”
“Why don’t you ask your little whore when she wakes up? I’m sure she’d love to tell you in great detail while she’s in between your thighs sucking you off about what happened.”
Adam growled and released his shoulder, his bloodied hand pointing at Emily and I. His index finger started to glow with a bright white light and I feared he’d shoot me. With the threat in the air, Lucifer brought the tip of the sword to the masked man’s throat. He pushed it in, not enough to draw blood but enough to make the consequence known. “Don’t. Even. Think. About. It. You’re lucky that my dearest told me not to kill anybody. Because believe me, my limit has been passed and I’m hanging by a fucking thread.”
Adam gulped and the blade moved with the bob of his adams apple. I could see fear in the egotistical man’s eyes and even his stance had changed to try and protect himself. “Say, how about I cut off the other hand to join its partner on the floor? I could make them into a pair of cup holders for my beloved and I to use as we sip your thick rich blood from bejeweled goblets.”
“W-why would you want to do that? My blood doesn’t even taste that good!”
“Let’s see, I could name a million reasons. But the first one that comes to mind is to punish you for assaulting my fiance! Did you really think I wouldn’t know about you constantly putting your wretched paws all over her?”
“L-look, you stole two of my wives. I was only returning the favor!”
Lucifer grit his teeth and I swear with how hard he pushed them together they would shatter. The glare that he sent towards Adam was lethal as his eyes turned completely red once more. His black knuckles turned white with how hard he gripped the hilt of the sword. “Those two were just to show how superior I am to you. Y/n is different. She is my true love! She’ll remain by my side for the rest of her eternal life and together we will rule Hell as King and Queen! And if you think you can take that away I’ll cause my own extermination! Any and all winners will be subject to my wrath! They will be slaughtered one by one and their souls forced to burn beneath my hooved feet! I’ll torture every last one of them as I send them to each ring of Hell, the Cardinal Sins and Overlords free to do whatever the fuck they want! UNDERSTOOD?!”
The sword was pushed a bit further into Adam’s neck, a light trail of blood sliding down from the small gash. The tension was so thick that the weapon in Lucifer’s hands wouldn’t be able to cut through it. “Y-you got it, man! Just don’t hurt me!”
The Devil chuckled and pulled away. “Oh, Adam. So above it all until your whole existence is threatened. Then you turn into a pussy and cower away.”
Throwing the sword into Lute’s left wing with a huff, he used his now open hands to conjure a red misty portal. When Lucifer turned to face Emily and I his white irises had returned to his red eyes and a soft smile reached his lips. He walked over, his bloodied boots clicking against the cobblestone. Slowly, as if to not scare me further, he crouched in front of us. His arms reached for me and as he got close Emily hugged me tight to her frame. Tears ran down my cheeks and wet their previously dry tracks. I shook my head and curled my legs into my torso, trying to get as far away from my fiance. “Please don’t hurt her, Mister Morningstar!”
His face dropped and he shook his head side to side. “You honestly think that I’d hurt my darling? I’m hurt, Emily.”
He reached for me again and before the young girl could put up a fight, he wrapped his arms around me. Standing up, he hoisted me bridal style and brought our foreheads together. He closed his eyes and nuzzled me close. A purr rumbled in his throat and he opened his eyes. That frightening look of adoration had returned, his pupils almost looking like little hearts. He gave my forehead a kiss and then turned towards the other angels. “Goodbye, cunts. Hopefully we never see you again.”
His presence commanded the room as he walked us towards the portal, the familiar dark red sky of Hell peeking through. “Let’s go home, my dearest Y/n. We deserve some alone time together.”
A sob wracked my body as he flew forward, the portal closing immediately behind us.

A BLOODY PRICE
[ Part 2 to Crimson Red ]
Tumblr media
TW: swearing, violence (bones breaking and shooting, nothing too intense though), brief mention of attempted assault
˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁ ˖ ݁
He had her cornered.
The dim street lights were making the tears that rolled down her cheeks glisten, but no one would hear her cries or come to her aid. Not in the alley ways of Gotham City.
As she continued to tell him; "No, I don't have any money, no please," it only seemed to make him angrier. He had her by the wrists now. Rage contorted his features. She closed her eyes.
"Listen here you bitc-" He was cut off by the sound of his own bones breaking. Both of his wrists snapping forward before his hands hung low. Mock horror spread across his face as the most agonising yell left him.
As he tumbled away from the girl and fell to his knees, something else grabbed at his attention. The pair suddenly looked in the direction the slow footsteps were coming from. Heels on the wet cement. And once you stepped out of the shadows and he saw the mask. The lipstick. The lace...he realised.
"No." Weeps escaped him as he feebly attempted to get away. "No, please."
You looked over at the terrified woman as she held her wrists and watched you in anticipation. "How ironic." You scoffed, "Now he's begging. 'No, no, please.'" You mocked with a wicked smile.
"Who are you?" She asked, voice quivering.
Your eyes settled onto her and remorse began to stir in your stomach. "A friend." You said, "Now, how far away is your home?"
"It's just across the street."
"I'll watch you. Go."
She didn't hesitate, quickly moving past you and heading towards an apartment building. When the door closed behind her you looked back down at the man.
"You know, I don't think that's going to be enough to teach you a lesson." That playful glint left your eyes and was soon replaced with a deadly intent.
He began to beg again, until the sound of a gunshot split the air in two. His body hit the ground with a loud thud. Shocked, you turned, moved to the side hoping the shadows would conceal you, but another gunshot echoed through out the city as the bullet found its home in your shoulder.
In that moment, something wrapped around you and brought you down to the ground with them.
The two gunshots simmered in the air before disappearing, and everything became eerily still as Gotham continued on like nothing had happened.
"Shit." The voice said. You turned to see the Red Hood on the ground with you, arms holding on as though you were precious cargo before he quickly let go.
"Red." You breathed. A faint smile spread across your face until the pain of the gunshot began to finally kick in. You winced, and Jason began cursing himself for not reaching you in time.
"Where did he hit you?" His voice was deeper and a little robotic with his helmet on.
"My shoulder." You managed, gripping onto the upper part of your arm as if it would help with the pain. "Who-?"
"A sniper. I couldn't figure out if he was gunning for you or that pig."
You both instinctivly looked over at the man sprawled across the ground.
"Come on, can you walk?" He began to guide you up from the ground, a tender hold on your elbow and lower back.
"Yeah, my house isn't far."
Lies. And it was as though he could tell you were lying.
"I bet mine is closer. Come on, I can stitch you up."
"No, really. It's fine-" Another wince cut you short, and if Jason wasn't wearing a helmet, you'd see the concern embedded onto his face.
"You helped me," He pointed out, a little eager. "Now let me make it even."
So the Red Hood managed to convince you to go back to his place. A dark apartment filled with take-away, old books, and large windows in the lounge room, only lit up by one warm lamp.
"When I find that asshole, he's no longer going to have a spine." You said through grit teeth as he laced the stitchings through your skin.
"I wonder who it was." He said, focused on your wound. "Probably Two-Face."
You shook your head. "Sneaky son of a bitch. He knew I wouldn't be able to sense a sniper."
Suddenly, your hand flew on top of his and tightly held onto it. Jason's body stilled as his eyes darted up to you. You were squinting, until you finally let out a breath and said, "Sorry, that one had a little kick to it."
You were trying your best, but the burning sensation was beginning to get to your head. Jason nodded before apologising, his eyes on yours and his enclosed hands. You moved your hand back into your lap. Jason paused for a second before continuing on and a strange sort of silence enveloped the room.
You couldn't stop the small smirk. His hand was unexpectedly warm. And soft, even if it had a few scars on it. A blush crept onto your face and you hoped the mask was hiding it.
"I thought someone like you would handle pain a little better." He teased, cutting the string and moving to grab a bandage.
You scoffed as you stared at the bloody bullet that sat on his table.
"Well, I didn't really have to deal with pain growing up."
Jason raised a brow at you as he continued wrapping your arm.
"My sister was a healer." It was the first time you looked away from Jason, a sad, distant memory gleaming in your eyes.
"A healer and a pain inflictor?"
"Mmhm."
Watching you and how your usual confident expression melted away made him drop the topic. But his mind continued to wonder. 'My sister was a healer.' Past tense. He bit the inside of his mouth as he wondered what happened. Wondered if that was why you did what you did.
He clipped the bandage and sat back to look at his work. "All done."
You looked down and scoffed. "I didn't think I'd have to make the arms of my suit bullet proof too."
Then you looked back up at him and sent his head reeling. No snarky remarks or sarcastic comments. Jason was silent. You gazed back at one another in a comfortable silence, and he found that he really wanted to take that mask off. See who was hiding underneath. But the thought left his mind and his stomach dropped as soon as your eyes widened.
This time...you could hear a heartbeat.
As quick as a whip you were out of the chair and had your hands gripping onto his suit. Much to his shock and surprise, you were shoving Jason back, and in that split second a plethora of bullets began to shoot through the windows.
The loud gunshots mixed with the smashing and clinking sound of glass breaking as the shards scattered across the floor. You and Jason were pressed against the wall at the end of the room, your face buried into his chest and his arms around your head. The shooting continued on for what seemed like forever before coming to a sudden halt.
The floor of his apartment was nothing but glass shards and wooden splinters from the window frames. His table, chairs, and the wall opposite of the windows were decorated with deep bullet holes. It seemed the sniper had returned with a gun that had a little more kick to it. And now, he was gone.
You finally looked up at Jason as he stared back at you. You still had him pinned against the wall, your body pressed against his as you both continued to breath heavily. But the shock of what just happened wouldn't allow either one of you to move. All you could do was stare at each other before he looked over your head at his apartment and the windows.
A slither of guilt crept into your bones. Now he would have to move. You looked over your shoulder at the mess before looking back at him.
"That fucker is dead." He said, voice deadly and low.
"Seems we both have a common enemy now." You said.
Stupid enough, you felt your face become hot as you took in the position you were both in, and little did you know that Jason was thinking the same thing too. Except you had much more of an effect on Jason. Faces inches apart as you held him against the wall, your hands gripping onto the fabrics of his suit. Surprisingly enough, he found he didn't mind the position he was in. At all.

Whenever you have the time could you write about Gavi with a gf that is a bit reserved and touch starved, her love language is physical touch but she doesn't initiate it with Gavi because her ex always told her she is clingy and annoying so she's insecure about it, so Gavi tries to show her it's okay by always cuddling her, or touching her in any way. And then over time she starts to initiate the cuddling/touching and Gavi is so proud and happy because she finally feels comfortable with him
Your writing is amazing btw, I've decided to wait for you to finish Just Pretend completely to continue reading it because whenever I finish the last chapter you post I get so sad because the next one isn't out yet and I can't live in the agony of not knowing what happens next
Pls hold my hand
"Princess, why do you have a sweatshirt that says ‘clingy’ on it?”
You looked over to Gavi, who plopped himself down on the couch next to you, grabbing the remote to cue the Netflix show the two of you had been watching for the last several weeks, eager to finally watch another episode, as the two of you held your shared series’ to a sacred standard. With only two episodes left of the latest “Drive to Survive”, you didn’t want to delay the experience with too much conversation.
"Just and inside joke between me and my friends.” You said, avoiding eye contact and focusing on the bag of m&m’s in front of you.
“Your friends think you’re clingy?” He asked, turning to face you as his hoodie slipped from his head, messy brown locks on full display. One of the things you adored about Pablo was how much he was always trying to protect you and look out for you. You weren’t really be confrontational, and this lead to some mistreatment and being pushed over at times by those close to you. Well, you used to. Since you and Pablo started dating about 8 months ago, he had been there to defend you against people who wanted to take advantage, and often was the voice reminding you to stick up for yourself.
“No no, it’s not them. It’s … something to do with my ex boyfriend. Do you still want to know?”
Gavi tensed at this. Despite you never saying anything explicitly negative about your boyfriend, all the stories Gavi heard made him hate the man with a burning passion. He had slowly but surely messed you up in so many ways, and now as Pablo worked to slowly unravel the knots tightened around your heart, he couldn’t help but curse the man that tied them to begin with.
“Yeah. You can tell me.”
You shifted in your seat, rather uncomfortable with the topic, but not wanting to lie to your boyfriend.
“Well, remember that little love languages quiz I made you do? Well I did mine like years ago, and I got physical touch. Which makes sense right because that’s one of yours and we seem to be getting along pretty well.” Gavi giggled at this, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and causing you to tense.
“Well, my last boyfriend wasn’t super into like… touching? Fuck that sounds sexual. I mean he didn’t really like being touched or cuddling or all that couple stuff. Didn’t like holding hands either. And like this one time, he was watching something on his computer and I was feeling bold or whatever and tried to sit on his lap — he hated that though. He liked pushed me onto the floor and told me to stop being clingy.” You forced out a laugh, trying to lighten the mood and soften the look of horror that had occupied Gavi’s face.
“That was actually why I broke up with him. Anyways I didn’t hug any of my friends for a month after that, and when they finally confronted me and I told them why, they got this made me for me. See, look at the sleeve,” you said, stretching out your arm to show him the ‘pls hold my hand’ embroidered on the sleeve. “So now whenever I’m in my clingy sweatshirt, my friends give me a ton of hugs and stuff. It’s funny. I think.” You say, winching slightly by the fact that Pablo’s eyebrows are still pushed together in anger.
He muttered his grievances about your boyfriend while cuddling closer to you, pulling you into his chest. Your cheeks warmed as they were pressed against Gavi’s beating heart. Despite the long time you had been dating Pablo, you still were shy when it came to initiating any sort of affection. You were too scared of annoying him and pushing him further away. So you remained shy and reserved, only responding to the touches he initiated.
“Give me your hand, silly. Never been with a girl who came with instructions before. Maybe I should get you a pair of panties that say-“ his sentence abruptly ended with a pillow to the face. You giggled, trying to pull away from his grasp, but he just pulled you closer, wrapping both arms around you now.
“Oh no no princesa. You’re not going anywhere. Now hush and make mean comments about Verstappen with me.”
~
Over the next few weeks, Pablo had made an active effort to make you more comfortable with being physical with him. Whenever the two of you were out, he held your hand or had you two link arms. He hugged you and kissed you on the cheek or forehead, asking, “you don’t want to give me a kiss back, Amor?” Puppy dog eyes and adorable pout on display, you coyly returned the peck to his jutted out lip. He smiled widely, teeth almost blinding you. He returned with an attack, kissing you across both cheeks, and ending with a searing kiss to the lips.
His favorite time was when you two watched shows together. He would always pull you in close, cuddling with you next to him on the couch. He would lean close and whisper his comments about the show into your ear, making your skin erupt in goosebumps as his breath famed over. He would press kisses into your temples, breathing in the sweet smell of your hair, and reminding you how much he loved being around you.
“You’re so warm amor - my personal furnace. I love it.”
“Your skin is so soft, feels so nice.”
“I wish I never had to get up from beside you.”
After three weeks of hand holding, kisses, and encouragement, you finally found the confidence to approach Gavi to heal your touch starvation. You put on your clingy hoodie again, laying out snacks on the coffee table and firing up her Netflix.
“Princesa I’m here! Where are you?”
Running to the door, you wrapped both arms around Gavi’s neck, pulling him into you and greeting him with a firm kiss. As he recovered from the unexpected greeting, you informed him that you would be in the living room pulling up a new series. He followed closely after kicking off his shoes, and peeling off his Barca jacket, picking up the hoodie you had laid out for him.
“Did you change shampoos? Used to be peach and now it’s strawberry.”
“How could you tell?” You asked, grabbing some drinks as Pablo got comfy on the couch. He crossed his arms across his chest, legs spread and back slumped.
“My clothes smell different around the shoulders. That’s usually where your wet hair sits.” He looked over at you, watching your eyes go wide. “Amor, you know I love you, stop being surprised when I actually act like it. Now what are we watching?”
Taking a deep breath, you walked back over. You grabbed the remote, pressing play.
“The new season of Black Mirror is out and I’m dying to see it. Heard this one is creepier than normal.” As you explained, you walked over to Gavi. Before he could move to make space for you on the sofa, you draped yourself over his lap. Your legs were to his side, back pressed to his chest. Your arms wrapped around his torso, and you laid your head on his shoulder. ‘Deep breaths it’s okay he’s not going to push you off.’
Pablo was stunned for a moment, so much so that he remained motionless. Once the shock wore off and he felt your slight tremble, he brought his muscled arms around you, pulling you tightly against him, soft lips pressing to your pulse point and freeing a soft gasp from your throat. He rested his head atop yours, the pressure and warmth comforting and familiar.
“Look at you being bold cariño. If I knew it would get you to sit in my lap we would’ve done this months ago.” You giggled softly in response, turning to face him. You rested your forehead against his, gazing deeply into the deep brown pools of his eyes. Leaning in, his lips eagerly met yours, refusing to release you. When you finally pulled away, you resumed your comfortable position in Pablo’s embrace. “I’m so proud of you, princesa.” The two of you fell into s comfortable silence, enjoying the show, squeezing each other tighter whenever things got intense.
“Can I get a matching clingy hoodie for whenever I want cuddles?” Pablo asked, smiling at you from above.
“I don’t think so, Pablito. You would never take it off.”

heya, so i've read your fic "it's about magic eyeball biology" right when it came out on AO3 but i just saw it's not online anymore. is there a way you'd be willing to send me the file? I REALLY like it and I was reading it basically every day for a few days because it made me laugh
i pulled it because i was getting comments about it on other fics and that was super annoying. but i guess i don't have a problem reposting it to tumblr. some notes:
this is an AU based on a bunch of jokes in this tag (chronological order)
someone asked about how weird it would be to be an SI and find out about the eyeball symbionts, so i wrote about tori finding out. this fic is a joke. it is not "canon." no one in plasticity, mutagenicity, or any other fic of mine has eyeball symbionts. i do not find it interesting, amusing, or fun to explore this concept in other fics. i do not want comments or questions about it. please respect this
the word i chose to use is "symbiont," which in my experience is the more common term used by people who study symbiosis. "symbiote" is from marvel.
Tori was successful in not vomiting the first time she watched an autopsy. Her stomach churned uncomfortably, but she ignored it, watching Keizo’s hands and pointedly not looking at the face of their latest victim. If she just focused on the steady removal of organs from the abdomen and not the face, she could pretend they weren’t from a person.
Then Keizo moved on to the head, and she had to look. He pried open the eyelids, and her stomach rolled.
“The eyes aren’t so bad,” Keizo narrated, voice gruff and bored. He held the lids open with one hand while he cut away with the other. “I like to use curved scissors to-- pay attention-- cut through the fascial sheath, and then you can cut away the orbital muscles and it’ll pop right out. Orochimaru-sama isn’t going to let you touch anyone with a doujutsu, so don’t worry about damaging the…”
Tori frowned, barely listening to Keizo, as the victim’s eye did pop right out. It was smooth, almost a perfect sphere, with the dark brown iris raised ever so slightly. Pink viscera clung to it in Keizo’s hand.
“Hold on,” Tori interrupted, twisting her neck to try and look at the back of the eyeball. “Where’s the… you know, the optic nerve?”
She was pretty sure the optic nerve was, like, huge. It was a bundle of over a million nerve fibers or something insane like that, if she remembered the human anatomy unit correctly. Her teacher had called it a “bridge cable.”
Then again, that unit was from an advanced high school class, and Keizo was looking at her like she was particularly stupid. Even if he was mean, violent, and uncooperative, he definitely knew more about cutting out eyeballs than Tori.
“Is it smaller than it looks in cartoons?” she tried.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Keizo sneered. “Here, you do the second eye.”
That was the good thing about eyes, Tori supposed. You got two for the price of one.
He passed her the curved scissors, which were slick with whatever goo lined an eye socket, and Tori hesitantly put down the notebook she’d been writing in. Feeling very light-headed, she copied Keizo’s movements, gently separating the victim’s eyelids and praying something would happen to intervene in what she was about to do. A fire alarm going off, or a earthquake, or fuck-- she’d take the hideout being actively attacked over this.
No act of god stopped her. Her hands were shaking so hard that she accidentally punctured the sclera and transparent, goopy vitreous started leaking out.
The eye did pop right out, though. There was no nerve at the back, and no evidence of one in the back of the pink socket.
Looking into the face of dead, eyeless person, she could either feel the horror at what she’d done seeping into her very bones, or she could wonder: What the fuck?
xXx
She asked for an anatomy book.
“I don’t see what the point is,” Kabuto told her. “You’re getting hands-on experience.”
“I want to know how things work when they’re still alive,” Tori replied.
“Well…” Kabuto rolled his chair back from his desk towards a narrow bookstand of books and scrolls he kept in his clinic. “I suppose Orochimaru would approve. Here, you can look through this while we wait for that drug to kick in.”
He handed her what was clearly a picture book meant for children, a deeply condescending smile on his face. Tori pressed her lips together to prevent herself from saying something disrespectful, then forced her face into a polite smile.
There was a chapter on different senses, and she slowly flipped through the chapter on chakra networks in mild interest, before she found the two-page spread covering sight.
Mother of Christ, Tori thought.
She hadn’t found an optic nerve because there wasn’t one.
xXx
Part of Tori’s argument for why she shouldn’t be dissected like a frog was that there was no reason to think there was much special about her biologically, including her own anatomy. She thought it would be safer to simply not say anything.
But now she knew. She knew every person in this world was a walking sin against logic, and that knowledge, sitting in the Oto clinic with Kabuto, was a horrible, heavy burden that made it hard to breathe.
The picture book Kabuto had loaned her had explained vision to her the way Tori thought an alien who’d never even seen a human and also who didn’t have sight themselves might explain it: special cells at the back of the eye reacted to light, and then that information was transferred directly into the brain via a complex network of chakra, and this was not even the worst part.
The worst part was that eyeballs were an entirely separate organism. A mutualistic creature that colonized newborn baby eye sockets and then metamorphosed into basically a giant eyeball that fed visual information into the brain in exchange for protection and nutrients.
“During pregnancy,” the book had explained in a little Did you know? box, “a mommy’s body makes special hormones, which tell the visual symbiont to make babies too! The babies are called larvae, which have lots of little tentacles to help them move around. They like to stay with mommy, though, and so they find the baby when she holds it. Sometimes, when there’s a problem with mommy and she can’t donate larvae to her baby, a doctor can help daddy’s eyes make babies, or sometimes another mommy will donate!”
Tori was going insane. She was going to hyperventilate. What the FUCK!
“This is the worst thing I ever read,” she muttered to herself, eyes stuck on the book. Whatever drug Kabuto had given her was making her dizzy, but she felt like her vision was laser-focused and perfectly taking in the bright cartoon of two eyeball symbiont creatures. “Is this a joke? This has to be a joke.”
She was vaguely aware of Kabuto frowning at her. “A joke?”
“Visual symbionts?” Tori squeaked out, sounding and feeling hysterical.
“Yes…?” Kabuto repeated.
“No,” Tori argued. “No way.”
Bemused, Kabuto dug out more textbooks, these ones meant for actual medical professionals. He flipped through passages on syndromes related to host-symbiont genetic incompatibilities, being colonized by more than one symbiont, symbiont maldevelopment and absenteeism, chakra incompatibilities, if the symbiont spontaneously regrew its tentacles and left your head in order to start its sexual reproductive cycle.
“Is this…” Tori felt like she couldn’t breathe. She felt more apt to vomit than she did when she’d fucked up trying to cut out someone’s eye. “Is this a genjutsu…?”
“Did you really not know about them?” Kabuto asked. “I thought you had biological training.”
Tori had to work very hard not to break down into hysterics.
xXx
The good news was that “I have a special nerve that connects my eyeball to my brain and lets me see” sounded exactly as insane to both Kabuto and Orochimaru as “eyeball symbiont creature” did to Tori.
Well, no, that wasn’t really good news. But she felt vindicated at both their absolutely baffled looks.
She had to explain it three times– dropping words like “optic chiasma” and “retinal blind spot” before Kabuto believed her enough to press his fingers to her temple and send chakra into her eyes.
“There is something there,” he said, sounding deeply perplexed, and Orochimaru perked up like a child receiving a Christmas gift. “I think-- yes, it’s a nerve.”
“I think you should be able to see it,” Tori said, “if you shine a light into the pupil.”
They did. Tori did indeed have a white spot at the back of her eye, right where her optic nerve entered her eye.
“You’re like a cephalopod,” Orochimaru informed her, sounding like a dog owner telling their pet they were a very good girl. “This is how their eyes are arranged, an absolutely beautiful evolution. Oh, but the approach of the nerve is different. How fascinating.”
The examination ended with Orochimaru gleefully jabbing a needle into both Tori’s eyes. This was uncomfortable and painful, and he talked about how the presence of an optic nerve might be part of her future vision.
At least this backs up my story, Tori thought as Orochimaru’s cool hand held her face down.
xXx
Orochimaru strolled into lab the next day and pulled Tori aside to go over the results of her test with her. He took her down the hall to an office, which was surprisingly homey, all things considered. Orochimaru’s office was lined with bookshelves, and had a nice wood desk and a comfortable looking chair behind it. There was an ornamental lamp, which along with the desk chair, were the closest to “creature comforts” that Tori had seen in Oto so far.
She sat opposite to Orochimaru, in a much less comfortable chair. He spread a scroll out on the desk in front of her.
“Do you know how to read the results of a DNA test?” he asked.
“Uh,” Tori answered. “Not like whatever you’re about to show me.”
He hummed back at her, not at all bothered. “Ah, your otherworldly science. You should tell me about that later. For now…”
He explained how he’d compared the DNA extracted from her eye to DNA extracted from the hair he’d ripped off of her previously. They had matched exactly. He’d also ran her eye DNA against several visual symbionts they had on file, across many vertebrate taxa, and found no match at all.
“Your eyes are one-hundred percent Tori,” he said. “It’s amazing.”
“...thanks?” Tori tried. As a joke she added, “I grew them myself.”
“Hmm,” he answered. “I wish I had more of you, and more of other animals from your world. I’d like to study how they evolved.”
“I don’t understand how they didn’t evolve here,” Tori told him honestly. They had a special socket and everything! “I think… do other animals have eyes here? I’m pretty sure eyes evolved more than once. In my world, I mean.”
Orochimaru leaned back in his seat, eyeing her indulgently, a smile tugging at his lips. “The leading theory is that the symbiont started as a flesh-eating parasite that attacked proto-eyes in vertebrates, and then evolved with us until it simply replaced our eyes. Most babies are born with soft tissue in their sockets, to feed potential symbionts, and some think that growth is left over from millions of years ago when our ancestors had their own eyes.”
“Oh,” Tori said, unsure how to respond to that. She’d been taught parasitism and mutualism were opposite sides of the same symbiotic spectrum, so moving from one end to the other made sense. “Well, that happens sometimes.”
Orochimaru laughed.
They chatted. Orochimaru was good at answering questions thoroughly and without making Tori feel like she was stupid the way other Oto residents did, and he nodded along to her talking about whatever eyeball-related thing that came to her mind. Red-green colorblindness being a sex-linked trait, for example, was an extremely interesting topic for Orochimaru.
“So do you not have the genes for photoreceptors at all?” Tori asked curiously.
Instead of answering her immediately, Orochimaru had started writing down notes to himself. With the exception of occasionally labeling a tube or sample, Tori had never actually seen him write anything down before, and he scribbled with a sort of fervent focus.
“I’ve never looked,” he said eventually. “There’s evidence for photosensitivity in those without symbionts, but… It would be interesting to use your genome to search for any analogous loci…”
Because the conversation flowed easily, Tori eventually felt bold enough to ask:
“So is this why you can just pass sharingan around like hot potatoes?”
Orochimaru paused in the middle of writing, blinking at her.
“Hot potatoes?”
Tori blushed, and then backpedaled. “I know you… uh, Sasuke is going to get into a fight with Danzo at some point.”
She gestured at her forearm, and Orochimaru let a loud, rasping laugh.
“I don’t think Danzo can see particularly well with those,” he said, eyes mirthful. “But I suppose eye transplants would be quite difficult with a nerve to connect, wouldn’t they?”
Tori nodded. She was pretty sure they weren’t even possible. There were… a lot of problems, there. But if the eyeball was supposed to be an external creature, it had to be easier to pass them around.
“They have quite a high success rate here,” he answered, tone flippant as he played with the pen in his hand. “Unfortunately, an eye transplanted into a non-related host can rarely be coaxed into reproducing.”
“Huh,” Tori answered. “Why?”
Orochimaru’s lips quirked up into a smirk. “Perhaps that can be your next project.”
xXx
It didn’t get to be Tori’s next project, because Oto ended up going up in flames.
She didn’t even have time or energy to think about how everyone in this world was running around with symbiont eyeballs instead of regular eyes until months later, sitting in Sasori’s workshop and carefully stirring some foul-smelling concoction while he excavated someone’s insides so he could hide weapons inside or something.
“You know, you guys should really invent magnetic stir-bars,” Tori said, eyeing the beaker of slowly bubbling sludge and wondering if the fumes could hurt her.
Apparently Sasori was in a bad mood today, because he put the horrifying… scooping tool… down and turned to her fully.
Like carving a pumpkin, Tori thought against her will, eyes fixated on the… organ scooper?
“What stupid thing are you rambling about now?” Sasori asked her, voice harsh. “You’re distracting me. If you make a single mistake with that poison--”
Tori was trying very hard to pay attention to Sasori’s threats and not think about all the horrible squelching noises of the organs she’d removed herself. It was better to listen to Sasori, really. Probably increased her chance of survival, even.
There was movement behind Sasori. Tori squeaked in surprise. Sasori clicked his tongue in annoyance, picked up the organ scooper, and then used it to catch something right out of the air with the ease of a professional lacrosse player.
“Oh, disgusting,” he said, staring down at it in evident annoyance.
Something else plopped to the floor with an audible, vaguely wet thud. It rolled across the concrete floor, and Sasori trapped it against the floor with a firm sandal. Tori leaned over the bench to see what was going on, and saw the transparent ooze of viscera across the cement and gray tentacles trashing against the floor and the sides of Sasori’s sandals.
“Is that an eyeball symbiont?” Tori asked, suddenly excited. She leapt to her feet and came to stand beside him, peering into the shell of the organ scooper.
Sure enough, an eyeball with a halo of tentacles was rolling back and forth, desperately trying to escape.
Holy shit, Tori thought. That was… that was amazing, actually.
“It’s sort of cute,” she said.
Sasori looked at her like she was insane. This was, apparently, such a bizarre statement that he didn’t immediately react to the eyeball finally lurching itself forward and out of the scoop. Tori caught it easily in one hand as it fell.
“Don’t touch it,” Sasori hissed, grabbing her wrist. “Are you insane? It’ll induce your eyes too.”
“...what?” Tori asked, blinking back at him. “Oh, because the tentacles mean it’s trying to have sex?”
She stared down at the thing in her hand. The tentacles wriggled between her fingers. Kinky little bastards, weren’t they?
Sasori was looking at her with… awe wasn’t really the word. More like: What the fuck, I have never seen someone this carelessly insane before, and I am horrified that humanity could reach these depth.
Which was kind of rude, actually, because they lived with Hidan.
“What do you mean by ‘induce’?” Toi asked.
“Do you not know how eyeballs work?” Sasori asked, sounding just shy of hysterical.
Apparently, handling an eyeball symbiont in its sexual reproduction mode could induce a symbiont in a host to also leave the head and revert to its sexual cycle, so they could both run off and hopefully have an eyeball orgy with as many symbionts as possible. Tori guessed that made sense. The symbiont reproduced mainly asexually, but most things did occasionally run off to have sex. That was just life.
Sasori was absolutely disgusted by the entire process. His symbionts were the only living part of him, and he was personally horrified by the idea of them crawling out of his head to make babies.
He also seemed to be viscerally repulsed by the threat of a loose symbiont in someone’s living quarters, not because it might affect his housemates, but because he didn’t like the idea of more tentacled symbionts flopping around.
“Is this like… an ongoing societal problem?” Tori wondered. Did people kill them on sight, or was this considered a beautiful miracle of life?
She didn’t get to find out, because her question triggered a rant from Sasori about how much he hated them, and that they should just stay in people’s heads and look pretty like they were meant to.
“Is it common to leave a dead host like this?” Tori asked when he calmed down. They couldn’t really move on their own unless they went into sex mode, after all…
“Why are you still holding it?” Sasori demanded. His own disgust was the only thing keeping him from prying it out of her hand himself.
“Oh, I don’t have a visual symbiont,” Tori said, blinking at Sasori. “I just grew my own eyes. Uh. Like an octopus.”
Sasori very slowly let go of her wrist. He stared at her, perplexed.
The symbiont in her hand wriggled some more. Her own eyeballs stayed firmly in place.
“...pick up the one on the floor,” Sasori said eventually.
He wanted to keep them. He liked saving his puppet’s original eyes. Usually, when they left the host, he had to kill them and then isolate them for a week to be sure the hormones that could induce his own symbionts dissipated. That meant, once he was able to safely handle them, they were not in pristine condition. This, perhaps, contributed to why he hated them so much. They were frustrating art material.
Tori thought, based on what she’d read about things doctors did, he was being a bit paranoid, the way some people didn’t like touching raw meat.
“You’ll have to kill them and preserve them for me,” Sasori said, having fully accepted that Tori was a weird freak faster than she would have anticipated.
Tori felt bad when she killed them, slipping a scalpel into their backs where Sasori indicated.
“You’ll see more live ones,” Sasori sniffed when she complained. “This happens with about a quarter of my bodies.”
Fascinating, Tori thought. She’d never had one of her failed surgery… patients… do this. Maybe what they did in Oto also killed the symbiont?
“And you don’t use all those bodies for full puppets, right?” Tori asked. “You wont need every symbiont.”
“You can’t keep it as a pet,” Sasori sneered.
Obviously she didn’t want a pet. She wanted to run some experiments. This was really interesting, after all!
Instead of earnestly explaining this to Sasori, who seemed a bit on edge and likely to yell at her, she went for jokes at other people’s expense. He loved those.
“I want to see if Jashin protects Hidan from them,” Tori told him, and he snorted. “Or see if we can get one to colonize Deidara’s mouth-hand.”
“He will kill you,” Sasori said, not without a hint of bemusement. “You’ll cut off all their tentacles next. I like to use curved scissors…”

Scream Queen Book 1: Conventional Final Girl
Tumblr media
Chapter 4
Chapter 3 / Chapter 5
Stu Macher x Reader x Billy Loomis
“Did you find them?” Sid asked, referring to mom and Neil who were supposed to have arrived at the expo today, like they told us.
“Are you sure it was the Hilton?” Dewey asked, looking between us two.
“Mhm,” She said and we both nodded to him.
“They’re not registered there.” Dewey looked at us sympathetically, “Could they have stayed somewhere else?”
“I don’t know, I guess.” Sid said as she rubbed her head for the millionth time. I pulled her hand away from her face and held it in mine.
“Don’t worry girls, we’ll find them, okay?” Dewey reassured us as he put his hand on Sid’s knee.
An officer walked by placing a paper on Dewey;s desk and saying something about the mask. Dewey said he’ll “Be right back” as he pushed in his chair and walked off. “(Y/n), what if they can’t find (m/n) and dad?” Sid asked in a sad and quiet tone with little sniffles. Smiling up at her the best I could right now I said, “Hey, just like Dewey said, they’ll find them Sid. I bet mom and  Neil are okay wherever they are.” Pushing her hair back from her face she responded, “Wouldn’t he want us to know that though?” At this point I just looked away. I didn’t know what to tell her. Right when I turned my head is when I made direct eye contact with Billy, a chill ran down my spine and all over my arms. He was pleading to me with a silent voice. “Hey tell em, Sidney, come one, (y/n), tell em!” Billy finally shouted as they led him out of the room. Sid refused to look and see but me? I had a clear view of his pleas for help, part of me felt bad. Right when Billy was dragged out Tatum walked in and right to us. She rushed right to Sid’s side holding her close saying, “Oh Sid, I’m gonna getcha out of here. Okay?” Nodding in response, Sid just sniffled and cried a little.
Watching these two in front of me made me realise just how much of a family we really… aren’t. I mean the way Sidney might view it yeah for sure, we talk to each other and spend time together but when it comes down to it they’ll leave me in the background while they huddle to protect her. If this were a horror movie I know I wouldn’t be the final girl, Sidney would. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I overheard Dewey and Sheriff Burke. They’re talking about how it’s hard to track the buyer for the costume and they won’t be able to access the phone account until tomorrow. I couldn’t hear anymore after Tatum just groaned, “Ugh come on,” as she stood by Sid. I’m really hoping it wasn’t Billy, I care about him a lot even if he can be a little… menacing at times. He does his best for Sid and that’s all that matters.
“Hey Dewey, can we go now?” Tatum asked her older brother, impatience written all over her face.
“Hold on a second,” He said, pointing his forefinger up in our direction.
“What did mom tell ya? When I wear this badge you treat me like a man of the law,” Dewey basically whined out to Tatum.
“I’m sorry deputy Dewey boy but we’re ready to go!” Tatum shouted in a huff as she gathered her things, “Now, okay?!”
“Uh take ‘em out the back way, avoid that circus.” Burke said as he patted Dewey’s back and pointed towards the back door.
The whole station was laughing at Dewey and Tatum’s bickering as we rushed for the doors.
“There she is, Sydney!” Oh well I guess the Devil will always seek you out when you least expect it. “Hi, some night, what happened, are you alright?” Gale asked, shoving the microphone in Sid’s face.
“She’s not answering any questions alright? Just leave us alone,” Tatum said in a tired-of-this-shit tone.
“No no, Tatum it’s okay she’s just doing her job, right Gale?” Sid smiled and lightly pushed Tatum back towards me.
Judging by her voice, Sidney is about to throw down.
“Yes that right,” Gale nodded, still shoving the microphone in Sid’s face.
“So how’s the book?” Sid asked, a sarcastic and scorch sound to her voice.
“Well, it’ll be out later this year.”
“Oh, I’ll look for it.” Sid said, he voice cracking for the tears and sobs trying to escape.
I whispered over to Tatum, “Grab Sid. Now.” Tatum did exactly as I said.
Just in time too since Gale said, “I’ll send you a copy!”
Sid went to turn around and punch her but Tatum held her back with all her strength. This allowed me to take her place and land a clean right hook to Gale’s left cheek pushing her back and down into her camera man. Words could be heard from all the people behind her but I wasn’t listening.
Dewey ran up to us and escorted Tatum, Sid, and I to his patrol car.
“Where’d you learn to punch like that?” Dewey asked as he held onto my arm.
“Mom was a boxer before she got with Neil,” I said as I slammed the car door.
“(Y/n) why did you do that?” Sidney asked me, looking in confusion.
“What, you think I’m going to risk my sister facing legal action in the middle of this shit show? I’d rather land in the slammer than you Sid,” I said as I placed my head on her shoulder.
“See Tatum why can’t you be like that?” Dewey whined from the front seat.
“Because you’re my big brother Dewey you’re supposed to defend me!” And so the sibling bickery ensued once again.
Once we made it to Tatum’s we got dressed in our pajamas and just lounged around Tatum’s room. I guess my clothes weren’t up-to-par with the latest fashion because right when I walked in I earned an “ugh” from Tatum. “What?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest and leaning on the doorway with a goofy grin. “Well one, you always wear those ridiculous shirts, and two, change whatever you’re doing.” Standing up straight I tug down at my shirt, it was just a Pet Sematary shirt, I guess I do wear a lot of horror stuff. “I get why you don’t like the shirt but what’s wrong with what I was doing?” I asked in a genuinely confused tone. Tatum got up to cup my face and squeeze it. “You’ve been spending too much time with Billy and Stu, we need to re-acclimate you to society.” She said and she pouted her lip, feigning pity for my accidental new traits. While Tatum was shuffling through her drawers I looked over at Sid. I mouthed, “Aren’t you going to do something?” Sid shrugged and mouthed back, “What am I supposed to do?” I tossed my arms up in the arm and mouthed, “Anything.”
Tatum then threw something purple and soft right at my face. “There, go put those on then come back so I can braid your hair!” Tatum excitedly squealed. “We’re going to take cute pictures so hurry!” She shouted down the hall. Rushing to the bathroom I turned on the light, releasing a breath I held in… I’m just a little scared after tonight, I don’t know what’s lurking in the dark places anymore. I examined the set of small shorts and a smooth satin sleeping hirt. I quickly threw them on before heading back to Tatum’s room. When I came back I heard Tatum laughing.
“God I loved it! I’ll send you a copy, BAM, bitch went down!” Tatum imitated the event. Punching her stuffed rabbit.
Moving to sit up she again said, “I’ll send you a copy, bam! (Y/n), super bitch!” Tatum exclaimed shoving her arms out to the side. “She is so cool.”
I moved over to her vanity, careful not to make any noise because I wanted to bask in the fame.
Dewey walked in saying, “Thought (y/n) might want some ice for that right hook” Just had to run it Dewey.
“Over here Dewey,” I said as I sat at the end closest to the door.
Dewey tossed me the greenish ice pouch before I said, “Thanks.”
“I’ll be right next door, try to get some sleep.” Dewey said as Tatum waved him off.
I hopped onto the same bed as Tatum, I wanted to give Sid her space since she’s going through a lot right now.
Turning to me Tatum asked, “Do you really think Billy did it?”
My heart was telling me to say no but all that came out of my mouth was, “He was there Tatum…”
“He was destined to have a flaw, I knew he was too perfect.” Tatum said as she bobbed her head.
Hearing the phone ring in the other room just gave me instant chills, so did the knock at Tatum’s door right after.
“Telephone honey,” Tate’s mom walked in.
“Who is it?” Tatum asked as we turned to look at Mrs. Riley.
“It’s for the girls,” She said, making Sid turn her entire body.
“Is it my dad?” Her question was eager with hope in her voice.
“I don’t think so,” Tatum’s mom said as she gave a sympathetic smile.
Sid turned back over, having no interest in the matter anymore.
“Take a message,” Tatum said, leaning back against the headboard.
Getting up I said, “No it’s okay, I’ll answer it.” It might be something important, even if it isn’t our parents.
As I walked out I could hear the pitter-patter of Sid’s sock covered footsteps follow me to the phone.
“Hello?” I asked, crossing my fear arm over my chest.
“Hello, (y/n).” Oh no, the voice was obviously the ghost masked man from just hours ago. His words were drawn out just hoping for a reaction.
I gave him exactly what he wanted, “No! Stop, stop this now!” I wailed out.
Sidney came to my side, along with Tatum and her family.
“Poor Sidney’s Billy boyfriend, that guy doesn’t stand a chance with her.” This Ghostface said in mock gossip as if he were one of the girls.
“Leave me and my sister alone! You Jack Torrance sounding creep!” I exclaimed, shaking from the pure rage and fear that swam through my body.
“Looks like your sister fingered the wrong guy, again!” The masked murderer snarled on the other side of the line.
“What are you talking about? Who are you?” I asked in complete confusion by his words. Tatum and Sidney were begging me to hang up the phone.
“Don’t worry, you’ll find out soon enough, I promise.” He said before letting his line go dead.
“What?!” Dewey exclaimed as he rushed out to us a little too late. We were already walking back to the room
I couldn’t sleep for the entire night, neither could Sid and Tatum. We tried keeping our minds off of things by doing light hearted girly stuff like braiding each other's hair, painting our nails, taking cute pictures with Tatum’s instant camera. I just wasn’t ready to leave the warm security of our friend’s home tomorrow morning.

Hello! How do you think the SVE Adventurers (+ Mages too if its ok) react about learning that the farmer had 0 lvl combat experience or training when they joining the adventurers guild?
Preferably, they learned this by the time they already reached at the Crimson badlands for a while now
The game repeatedly reminds us that being an adventurer is a risky job. one adventurer even died to slimes. So why did Marlon just give the new farmer a rusty sword and went "Yeah, I done enough" and went to his merry way??? Its probably the first time they even held an sword, being fresh out of joja and all that.
So I can imagine an Adventurer/Mage noticing the farmer's rough fighting style in the Desert and asking them about who trained them and the farmer's like "Oh, yeah I'm self taught" and their Colleague being "???"
A little lyrical digression: in truth, Marlon is not exactly accepting someone with no experience into the Guild. If Farmer was able to kill at least ten slimes, they're already worth something. Especially since the old adventurer guessed that Farmer was a stubborn person and they would go to the Mines. So he gave them at least something to use in self-defence. Although on such an occasion, it would have been more logical not to let Farmer into the Mines at all, but there was no official ban on entry. Marlon's job is to guard the entrance so the monsters don't get out, but if any humans go in, that's a whole different story.
But that's me digressing, now let's get to the question.... Thanks for the question, by the way, dear anon! 💕
_________________________________________
Isaac:
Suspicions. Lots and lots of suspicions, which, for now, Isaac keeps to himself and doesn't share even with Alesia. Is he the only one who finds it rather odd that a person who has not had at least some experience in combat behind them has become a professional adventurer in a short time, willing to tackle even the horrors of the Crimson Baldlans? Farmer is either a cheater or not who they says they are, because well that's just not possible. And that pisses Isaac off a lot to the point where his facial scar starts to hurt a little. He'll be watching Farmer from a distance to find out what they're up to. And he'll keep his hand on the hilt of his sword if they do something stupid.
Lance:
Although it was rare, there were adventurers and wizards in history who, being beginners, were able to master in a short period of time such techniques and spells that were inaccessible even to adepts of their craft. Lance was the same - in addition to his natural gift in sorcery, he very quickly learnt the basics of magic, sem his peers. But even his quick learning was monitored. Farmer, on the other hand, had shown up very suddenly, so he understood his own and his other colleagues' suspicions. However, a few personal tests and communication with Farmer had dispelled all doubts of the pink-haired man. Nevertheless, he still considers Farmer to be the most mysterious person Lance has ever had to work with.
Alesia:
Of course, it is rather odd that there was no report or mention of Farmer earlier. The Castle Village archives hold files not only on the adventurers living here, but also from other Guilds or self-styled adventurers who had shown themselves in one way or another and could be considered as candidates who could be officially authorised to enter the Castle Village. She doesn't remember the Farmer among the documents. But the sniper trusts her former teacher Marlon, and if the old adventurer has faith in Farmer, then they really are worth something. Moreover, the Farmer shows themself to be a completely honest, brave and good person. Alesia even wonders what the young warrior is still capable of...
Jadu:
Truth be told, Jadu was busy with his own important business to listen to the local gossip and delve into the new Stardew Valley Guild member. But as time passed, the rumours about the mysterious warrior grew more and more, and he became curious as well. Most often, the young adventurer whispered that this Farmer had gone from a novice to a true professional in six months, chopping down monsters in Crimson Baldlans left and right. Which put Jadu in a stupor. He had recently asked Camilla about Farmer's background, and they really had no experience in past. Strange... However, Camilla is taking a very keen interest in them. She definitely can't be fooled, so if she's interested in Farmer, then they really are gifted. So Jadu is ok with Farmer.
Camilla:
Hee hee... For Camilla, this is no hindrance or reason to doubt about the Farmer. Even though even they are an adventurer and a mage only recently, she senses great potential in them. She also feels some of her friends and colleagues are a bit distrustful of Farmer. But any good mage and professional adventurer will notice that Farmer is a true uncut diamond, which with proper attention will prove themself even better than now. The main witch of Castle Village will let the Farmer solve their problem with distrust of others in themselves, at the same time to check how they will behave in such a situation. She will watch them with a mysterious smile...

Will Lyra still be helping out with the boys when they’re older or…?
does dream know?
HNBD Lyra considers the boys Nightmare's sons. Regular FuzzyNight Lyra knows the boys are Nightmare's sons and figures she is adopting them into her life by forming a relationship with her NightStar. Gooptales Lyra let Nightmare play the single father of a group of small children for a while, but no more. She will stay and help him raise his boys and continue to stay with him long after they are adults again. She will be their mother. ... And will likely cry when they first call her "mom."
As for Dream...
---
Nightmare stood outside of the cottage, permission to be in the OmegaTimeline given by Core when Lyra asked. It was a surprise visit. One that Lyra set up without telling Dream that he would be there. Also, without telling the positive skeleton there were four tiny skeletons with them.
Not that Dream was unaware of the condition of his... his sons... But the Guardian of Positivity was not informed on how they went from henchmen who acted like sons to just... sons. Nor, were the children aware they had an uncle. An Uncle that Lyra was insisting the children needed to get to know.
She knocked on the door as Nightmare shifted, unsettled about being here after... well... that day. Each tiny skeleton child with them was held off the ground and protectively by a tendril. He could feel Dust's subtle breathing as he slept, Killer's excited wiggling, Horror's stillness as he passively watched, and Cross's hand as he gently petted the limb holding him. Nightmare was about to back down when the door opened.
"Lyra," Dream greeted with a smile, but he then paused as he looked at Nightmare. "And Nighty... I will be honest, I did not think I would see your... well... them again."
Nightmare folded his arms and frowned, "I had not planned on you seeing them either." A light elbowing from Lyra made him sigh and add, "But I know I can not hide them away forever... And as my... as they are mine, Lyra has reminded me that they also become part of your family." After a moment, Lyra nudged Nightmare one more time, and he knew what she wanted him to say. With a long-suffering sigh, Nightmare finally added, "And... they may benefit from having their... Uncle Dream in their lives."
Dream's eye sockets and eyelights grew, stars forming within as he struggled to contain his aura as he was filled with annoying positive emotions. "I'm an uncle?" He asked, excitedly, then quickly moved, "I am sorry, please, come inside."
---
As the children play with Blue and Stretch, their self-declared cousins, Nightmare would explain what happened. Dream would have the scientists he knows there look into finding a cure too, but no luck. They reach the same conclusion as Sci.
Still, Dream is more than happy to watch the boys for a while... just a while. They are a handful! An adorable handful, but no wonder Lyra and Nighty bring them over now and then. One, they are trying to build a relationship and need to have a moment to themselves now and then, aka date nights (Dream hopes he is invited to the wedding). Two, at times, the two need a chance for a good long, sleep. A good rest in which they don't have to worry about kids waking up before them and getting into mischief.
And the best part of being an uncle? Spoiling the kids and then shipping them back off home to their parents once they start to get unruly.

wherever you want to go with this but i trust you -- prompt: blood
[uh @unicyclehippo & i are writing joan of arc themed lil fics bc … hello ava 👀 & mine is undoubtedly the more deranged of the two but ... here u go lol]
//
ava comes back gentle; ava comes back covered in blood.
‘i came back,’ she says, in the middle of the night when neither of you can sleep, after she’d stood in the shower until the water ran cold, scrubbing red from her skin, in the middle of a beautiful valley in france that has crumbling wine caves and a slow river, covered in reeds, currents that remember its history, the rot and death and face-down bodies.
‘i came back,’ she prays into your skin, her fingers tracing the curve of your ribcage like she’s remembering a church she worshipped at centuries ago, an organ and its pipes; your heart and ventricles and your own blood, faithful. ava touches you like she’s lived a thousand years; maybe she has. her eyes are the same brown as they were when you met, when she’d only been resurrected once, when she had cried at the marvel of the ocean and her own hands, and sometimes you wonder if you’re worthy of a strength like this — worthy of sacredness and consecration and your mother’s voice — i’d rather you take your own life than be gay — and maybe for so long you had taken your own life and shoved it down into the hollow of your throat, into the spaces between the bones of your wrists; you had discarded your want and offered up your slow-beating heart in its place.
ava kneels before you and scrapes her teeth along the inside of your thigh, the skin there pale and soft. it’s dark until she brings her mouth to your center and moans, and then the room glows: gold and blue — ava, ava, ava: life; some kind of god, some kind of — i am begging you to touch me; oh, i’m on fire, oh, i’m on fire; history and elegy are akin; you are my sweetest downfall, i loved you first. the holiness in ava is not of this earth — the metal, the burn — but she is, dirt under her fingernails when she came through the portal, blood coming out of her ears, covering her face. ava’s tongue is soft and she holds your body in the palms of her hands and the room is blue and gold, a room where you get what you want: crosses held before you while you die and eternal salvation and her name like a goddamn hymn and fuck, fuck, baby and your hips grinding down on her mouth and your hands tangled in her hair — hair that you had cut when you had wished for a home amidst the mountains and the tender press of her spine in the morning blue and hair that you had cut again a few days ago, trembling hands both times because she was beautiful, a blade at her neck and curls floating to the floor. she had asked you to, and now she asks you to do something for her again — to come, to come, to come. you hold your breath when you do, consecration.
the holy and the horror — the light comes in the name of the voice — and ava comes back ready to dance with you and laugh and ava comes back with enough power to detonate bombs with her hands. you kiss her and she tucks a flower behind your ear, waiting for your next battle at a convent in the countryside. ava eats without apology, whatever she wants, and drinks wine that stains her lips red, and kisses you in front of everyone; she is hot when you touch her, when her walls flutter and curl around your fingers and you touch her. sometimes you don’t know what to say so you just tell her what you know: primeval forests are so remote that humans don’t belong there, that people die when they go there, that there are wolves and moss and weather so cold humans can’t feel their hands. ‘what do you think our past lives were like?’ she asks, one day as you spar, divine powers aside, and you wonder: were you always her protector? have you always been by her side? have you watched her die, every time? ‘one,’ you say, like you remember it in your hands, ‘we were happy; we lived on a farm and we were poor, but we had milk and eggs and bread you knew how to make. i’d go out in the morning with the dog and you spun wool and it was quiet, and green.’ she sits against you, the halo and the divinium in her back against your front, enough to kill you, and her, many times over. ‘verde, que te quiero verde,’ she says, ‘we grew old. who died first?’
‘does it matter?’
‘no.’ she’s quiet; a ship slowly goes by. ‘we’d wake early, for breakfast and you rested your head in my lap when you were tired.’
‘i have loved you a long time.’
she traces a pattern along the lines of your hand, a scar straight across the passes right through them.
the days move on and ava heals and ava bandages your cuts and bruises and a broken wrist when you don’t, when you are human and frail and strong; ava falls asleep, too wild and small and lonely and beautiful, her spine curled against your chest. she wakes you with coffee and once, after a particularly bad battle, where you can’t move the next morning, a blow to your head too hard, she stays with you all day in bed, reading and running her fingers through your hair. she wears a soft sweater and socks with little dogs on them and says you’re a miracle, you’re such a miracle, i would destroy the world before i lose you and it’s true; it’s scripture it’s sacred it’s heresy it’s a blessing. a promise from a god, while you feel woozy and nauseous and your neck aches — a promise from a god, weighty and beautiful and sighed into your skin in the afternoon rain.
ava comes back in love with you; ava comes back —
there’s an explosion inside the sepulchre and everything is on fire; you have not been scared for so long — forgive us, we lived happily during the war; but on the wild nights who can you call home? only the one who knows your name — and you wonder if ava died staring at a cross; you wonder if you will grieve in this life, as you had before. you wonder if ava knew, if ava has always known, if ava was tired.
but then ava comes back — again, again — sooty and with torn armor and a gash across her face that hasn’t healed, blood streaming down. she walks through fire, unburnt, a smirk, even, on her face. ava comes back and kisses you and you taste blood and ash and dust to dust and the strawberry chapstick she had put on in the van before the battle, tucked in into her pocket with a wink. you have seen many miracles but this is one of an order you will never understand, one that will stop people from killing each other, one that is catastrophe and heaven.
‘let’s go home, bea,’ ava says, and you search her mouth for a sacrament and find it in the press of her tongue on the backs of your teeth. ‘let’s go home.’
and you do — the ocean, and in bed weeks later, the cut across her face red and shiny and healed, the edges pulled together taught, the burn on the palm of your hand a webbed scar right in the middle —
‘did you know,’ she says, in the moon and the quiet, ‘that joan of arc was put to death for wearing men’s clothing? she was so theologically clever that they could only order an execution if she relapsed into heresy; the guards at the prison she was at only gave her men’s clothes, which they eventually used to convict her.’
you kiss ava’s temple; her skin smells like lavender. she presses her lips to your pulse point.
‘being a girl,’ she says, her brow furrowed, your bodies stretched and tangled under the sheets. ‘she burned at the stake for being a girl.’
‘do you — do you remember?’
she turns toward you, different than you remember but still the same, still exuberant about the sea and ice cream and books she loves, texting and movie theaters and petting every dog you pass on the street; ‘sometimes.’
‘okay.’
’there are days —‘ she laces your fingers together — ‘that i feel a call backward, in my palms, in my knees, in the back of my skull. to understand, to see. there are days when all i know of this life is to love you.’ she presses a kiss to the divinium tattoo on your forearm that glows blue in the dark when she’s near. ‘this is how i know you. you are what i know.’
‘i will never watch you die again.’
‘i’m not sure i can.’
‘well then i’ll join you, wherever we go next.’
‘yeah,’ she says, so sure, prophetic, ‘you will.’
ava comes back for you —
what did the voice tell you when you returned to your room? it told me that i should answer you bravely.

The Criminal And The Princess VII
Grumpy!College!Eddie X Sunshine!Skater!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary : Cosy time in the apartment for Eden and Eddie.
Word Count : 2.1k
Warnings : not proofread, swearing, talks of food issues, talks of eddies dad, talks of arguments, talks of horror films, very fluffy, petnames.
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
I passed Eddie a green mug, full of coffee, giving him a smile. I took a sip of my own green tea before sitting down next to him.
“So what movie do you want to watch?” Eddie asked. “It’s up to you.”
“Do you mind horror?”
“Not at all,” I said, grabbing the remote and going to the horror section.
Scrolling through, Eddie leaned forward, putting his mug on the coffee table next to mine. “Thank you for this,” he spoke softly.
“Hm?”
“The company. I appreciate it, your homes really nice.”
“It’s okay. I like the company too.”
“Have you seen the scream movies?”
“Mhm, I only really like the original one though.”
“Wanna watch that one?” Eddie asked. I nodded, going down to find the movie.
Eddie had seemed to settle more now, when he first walked into the apartment, he almost didn’t know what to do. Saying he didn’t want to dirty anything, but of course he was fine.
It was nice seeing him in my space. I could feel myself leaning into him, I found a comfort in the fact he was there. And I think, not to be cocky, that he found that comfort in me.
“Do you want some popcorn?” I asked Eddie, already pushing up off the sofa to make some. “Sure.” I could hear his rings rubbing together, almost as if he was wringing his hands - he had a habit of doing that.
“Hey Eden.” He was leaning against the counter, his hip pressed against it, arms folded. “Yeah?”
“I’m sorry, if this is a weird thing to ask, I’m not good with this, I just um-“
I put the popcorn down, looking at the boy properly now. “What is it Eddie?” I walked over to him, “I uh, I got into a fight with my uncle, and I just … I need a hug-“
Before he even finished the sentence I’d wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him into me. His arms joined around my waist, holding me close as he put his face into my neck.
“It’s okay,” I said, running my hand over his hair. “Thank you for this, we just had a misunderstanding and then everything blew up.”
“Come on, let’s sit.” I took his hand, leading him back to the couch. Holding his hand in my lap, I let the boy speak. “He heard me on the phone, getting an earful from the head of the school.”
Humming, the boy continued, “He flipped. Saying this is what happens to music stars and that I should focus on history and do something sensible.”
“Oh Eddie I’m sorry,” I rubbed my thumb on the back of his hand.
“That wasn’t even the worse bit, he said that music like mine led to my mom’s downfall. Meeting my dad, he’s a deadbeat, having me a teenager and then dying soon after.”
I squeezed his hand. “Music makes me feel so connected to her and he just made it out to be this horrible thing. I flipped after that saying it was something beautiful she left behind, and that he was mad because he was stuck on a dull job.
“Then I walked out, haven’t been home since,” he sighed, rubbing his face with his large palms. “God, where did you sleep?”
“In the van, have blankets and stuff in there.”
“Eddie that’s so unsafe!”
“It’s fine.”
“How are you feeling about seeing your uncle?”
“I think I should stay away, I’ve never shouted at him before.”
“Well okay, you can stay away today, but you’re going home and speaking to him tomorrow.” He raised a brow at me. “You can sleep here. Johnny and Steve have both left clothes here so.”
“You don’t have to do th-“ I cut him off.
“I want too. Let me look after you.” I put my hand on his knee squeezing. “Thank you Eden, you’re a really good person.”
“So are you. Now let’s watch this movie.”
“Before we do, can I borrow a hair tie?” Nodding, I walked to my room and gave the band a good stretch before walking out. Eddie held his thick locks and pulled them back, tying them into his signature bun.
“Thank you, was getting a little warm.”
“Of course.”
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
The movie was around the halfway point when I felt something on my shoulder. Looking at Eddie. His eyes closed, long lashes kissing his cheeks, his lips pouted slightly as he let out soft breaths.
He really was beautiful.
The night in the van must have been awful, I didn’t want to disturb him, letting him remain where he was. He seemed so peaceful, which was amusing, considering the movie that was playing.
The popcorn was long forgotten, tea and coffee had gone cold and I, myself began to feel tired. My head resting on top of Eddies as my eyes fell shut.
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
“Be quiet!” I heard a voice hiss. Nancy? I heard almost silent footsteps, but they were clumsy, Robin? With a sigh my eyes opened slowly, seeing the pair in front of me.
“Hi?” I said, voice croaky as they stared at me. “Hello.”
“Hi.” They said in sync. Both sporting small grins. “What?” I asked.
Nancy motioned her head to next to besides me. I hadn’t noticed I was now lay down on the couch, resting on a familiar person. Eddie lay sound asleep. The night in the van must have been rough.
“Oh,” I said.
“Oh?” Robin snorted.
“Shut up, both of you shoo. Go.” I waved them off, and with giggled they went. Picking up my phone I saw that it was getting late.
“Eddie,” I said, shaking him gently. He let out humming sound of protest at being disturbed, which made me laugh. “Come on, up you get.”
“Did I- Oh shit .. sorry,” he figured out he’d fallen asleep then. But that wasn’t what my focus was on, it was on how deep his voice had gotten, thick with sleep. Good fucking lord. The sound went straight to my … never mind.
“Come on, you can hop in the shower and I’ll fix us some dinner?”
“Are you sure?”
“Course I am,” I offered a sleepy smile. Leading him to the bathroom I lay out some clothes, then fetched some of Steve’s clothes out of a spare draw.
He crashed here a lot. “I’ll leave them on here, help yourself to anything. The peach scented stuff is mine so, but if you don’t want that, Jonathan’s stuff is in here,” I motioned to a cupboard.
“I think I’ll take you up on the peach stuff, you always smell great.” I snorted, with a nod of my head, placing towels and a change of clothes on the counter top, scurrying away.
Walking out into the kitchen, I saw Nancy and Robin leaning up against the counter. “What?” I asked.
“Eddies here,” Nancy said with a shrug.
“He is. I said he could stay the night, he’s had a fight with his uncle so. Is that good with you guys?”
Both of them let out a yell of “Yes!” With wide eyes I looked at them, “What is up with you two?”
“Just you and Eddie … it’s cute,” Robin said.
“He’s a friend.”
“Sure E,” Robin smirked, “And Vic and John are our friends,” she motioned between herself and Nancy.
“Both of you shush! So what he’s cute. I like spending time with him, but I’ve know him for like a week!”
“And?”
“And it’s a week!” I exclaimed, throwing my hands up in the air.
“I’ve never seen you this into a guy E, or anyone for that matter.”
“Well I don’t really do this kind of thing.”
“What?”
“Like people.”
The pair smiled, jesus it was like looking at two cheshire cats. “So you like him?” Robin asked. “I … maybe? I don’t know!”
Nancy hummed, “Come on Robs, let’s leave her be.” The shorter girl held the others hand leading her away. With a sigh I rubbed my face, heading to make dinner for me and Eddie.
Those girls would be the death of me … or the very attractive man who was currently naked in my bathroom.
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
Around 20 minutes later I heard the bathroom door open, and was thankful for the quick meal of shitty but fantastic tacos I’d made for me and Eddie.
“Hey,” he spoke from behind me, as I grabbed up two cans of Dr Pepper, something I’d found out he liked. “Hi,” I turned to look at the boy and nearly choked at the sight.
His hair was damp, still dripping a few beads of water. Steve’s top was too small for Eddie slightly larger frame, the muscles on his arms making it stretch tight.
It was slightly too short on him, making it cropped, revealing his soft yet toned stomach. Oh my god. Clearing my throat, I slid the plate and drink to him.
“Thank you, I feel a lot better now,” The boy said, instantly tucking into the food. “It’s okay,” I smiled. The food was shit, but the company was great. I hadn’t felt this comfortable eating around someone in a long time.
Eddie was a sweet boy.
Eddie was a great friend.
Eddie was someone I could see myself falling for.
“Eden!” I looked up, Eddies dark eyes watching me. “Where’d you go Princess?” Putting the taco back on the plate I hummed before speaking, “Sorry was in my own head, skating stuff.”
“Oh yeah? Anything I can do to help?” With a shake of my head I replied, “Nah, just got my trainer back, so routines changed a bit.”
He let out a soft ‘oh’, sound taking another bite of his food.
I took him in, his tattoos, his pretty face, where his fingertips were rough from playing guitar, but steady from painting.
He really was extraordinary.
“Did you do those yourself?” I asked, motioning to one of the tattoos on his arm. It was a puppet on strings, “I drew it, but I didn’t do this one. I’ve got a few shitty stick and pokes,” he laughed.
He turned his arm so I could see a wobbly smiley face there. “I did that when I was 17, old man almost killed me when he realised it wasn’t marker,” he laughed.
“Your old man?”
“Uh my Uncle Wayne.”
“Oh I see,” I nodded taking a sip of my drink, “You don’t see your dad?”
“I haven’t seen him since I was like 12? No clue where he’s at to be honest.”
“Right, so not long after your mom passed.”
“Yeah, he got worse, got arrested and Wayne’s my closest relative so. I guess I got lucky. I know I’m pissed at him, but he’s a great guy.”
“He does sound it. I’ll look forward to meeting him.” With a smirk he looked at me, “You wanna meet him?”
“Well you’ve met my dad, only fair that I meet yours.”
“I guess you’re right princess.” With a nod I motioned to his plate, “Want any more?”
“Sure if there’s any going.” Taking his plate in hand, I filled it back up with tacos and veggies.
“Here you go pretty boy, eat up.” Eddies face flushed and he brushed his hair back out of his face, it was bothering him clearly.
“I can braid it for you if you want?”
“What?”
“Your hair, I can braid it.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, finish eating and I’ll do it for you.”
The boy seemed to wolf it down, at that offer. Soon enough he was sat on the couch, I was behind it brushing through his hair with my hands, putting detangler in it.
He was almost purring at the feeling. Soon his hair was in three seconds, being braided into one. “Does this feel okay?” I asked.
“Mhm.”
“Not too tight?”
“No it feels fine.
Soon his thick curls were in a large braid, that came past his shoulders. “You have such pretty hair I’m jealous.” I plopped myself next to him.
“Thank you.” He stretched out letting out a slight yawn. “You tired?” I asked.
“A little.”
“I’ll go get you some pillows and a blanket okay?”
“Okay.”
Going to my room I grabbed a blanket out of my wardrobe and a couple pillows off my bed. Wandering back out to Eddie, he gave me a smile. “Thanks Princess.”
“You sure you’re okay sleeping out here? I can bunk in with one of the girls and you can stay in my room.”
“Seriously it’s all good. This couch is a lot comfier than the van,” he joked.
“You try and get some sleep okay?” He nodded, taking the pillows and placing them at the end of the couch, pulling the blanket over his lap.
“Goodnight Eddie.”
“Goodnight Princess.”
Walking to my room he spoke again, “Eden?” I hummed, turning to face him.
“Thank you.”
“Anytime.”

i saw ur prompt list (i am just absolutely obsessed w hange) can you write the soulmates trope? w past lifes and stuff
Meet Me at St. Mary's | H.Z.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Hange Zoë x female reader Summary: Y/N shared a special moment with Hange at the bridge over St. Mary's. Word count: 1.0k A/N: so this is my fluffy apology fic after my last angsty Hange fic, i'm still sorry guys (i was about to upload this last night but i had a fever so it was kinda late, thanksss for the request anon!! :D)
Y/N always had a strange feeling about the river at St. Mary's. It appears as something neither deep nor shallow, but the dark waters streamed silently as though in desire to consume her. She passes by the river silently with a shudder. Not daring to look back or stare for too long.
However, that noon as she opened the love letter Hange slipped between her hands earlier that day, it only contained a few words, and that was enough to bemuse her.
"Meet me at St. Mary's."
Y/N laid down in her bed, eyes wandering the ceiling as her thoughts raced. Why St. Mary's? Why meet her lover at a place so surreal and horrific?
The next evening was a cold Sunday. Anyone who passes by would tell you that the weather was breezy if you asked. But Y/N would tell you that the air was sharp and biting, the waters streamed unforgivingly below the bridge. Too steady, too calm to be natural as her reflection stared back at her. It feels like a masked horror surreptitiously watching, waiting… waiting to pull her in. She was too absorbed in staring at the depths to notice Hange's presence approaching.
She jumped back a little in surprise as Hange hugged her from behind, kissing her softly on her temple.
Y/N could only smile softly before wrapping her arms around their body, taking in the sound of their heartbeat and the whiff of their perfume reminding her of the flowers she used to love from childhood. Y/N took their presence in and it was enough to make her breathe again
"I swear I've held you like this before," Hange murmured as their grip loosened but never let go, a small smile curling at their lips.
The familiarity of their touch surprised her, it was as if her soul attached itself to their embrace, yearning for something she once had. The park had gone quiet, like a still painting of people, mostly lovers, passing by. The birds of the night chirped, the faint glow of the street lamp illuminating the bridge where the two held each other.
"Do you remember anything else?" I murmured, tracing my thumb over their hands. My gaze remained on the river. Shallow yet so unfathomable. I want to know if Hange knew these flashes of memory... that it wasn't just me.
Y/N remembered holding their hand like this, her body recognized and yielded to their touch like a soft flower gently bowing down. It wasn't from this life but somewhere else… at another time that she couldn't quite put into words.
Too ineffable as she would describe it.
Hange lowered their head, their lips gently pressing on her hair. The river streamed quietly beneath, people pass by the park silently, absorbed in their versions of this night.
"Isn't it strange?" Hange laughed softly, facing Y/N this time, their soft demeanor dropping to an enthusiastic one as they held both of her hands on theirs. They told her the moment they first held her hand and the first time they kissed her. A version of events would flash in their mind, a distant memory coming close. No amount of science could have explained that even if Hange tried. This strange familiarity only enthused Hange even more, providing them with an unusual rush of emotions that feels too good… too right.
"It's like…" Hange gave a soft sigh, a smile forming on their lips. "I know you even before I learned your name."
Their words caught Y/N's heart, a spark running through her fingertips as her lover spoke.
"So I hope you don't mind this little experiment of mine," Hange continued, looking around. "I always see a vision of you in this bridge. Somewhere a long time ago… I just couldn't quite remember… "
But Y/N knew. She was starting to remember no matter how faint the memory was. Maybe it was this bridge that triggered these wisps of memory. It wasn't something that the mind could remember. Minds are fragile and could deteriorate, but the soul always knows.
"Then allow me to make you remember…" Y/N whispered, pulling her lover into a soft kiss. Hange's body melted against hers, remembering this same touch, this same soul pulling them into a loving embrace.
People tell you that love was developed out of practice, of learning and falling apart, all the same like a vicious cycle. They tell you that having one true love is a huge illusion, no vow or marriage could determine that.
But Hange remembered the myth of this river, under the bridge where their lover once embraced them.
It was said that two lovers rowed by St. Mary's river, cursed to travel the waters for eternity for their love for each other angered the gods. No worship, no form of devotion to a deity could imitate such things. When the two pass by under the lovers' bridge, lovers connected by their souls will be forever bound to each other, something that the two mythical lovers never had.
Hange gripped her tightly against their body and began to think.
Even if their love angered and ripped through reality, even if it defied the fragility of life and led them to punishment… they are willing to go through it over and over again.
Their will remained as boundless as the love they have for her. Their one and only.
Hange gently pulled away momentarily, their lips placing kisses over her forehead, her cheeks, her nose, and her jaw.
"I remember this…" Hange muttered in between each soft kiss, their lips helping them to remember.
All the while, Y/N held a soft smile, her cheeks heating up despite the breezy night. The starless sky never felt so bright.
A tear slipped down her cheek as she held them once again. Maybe it was because of relief, of recognition, or of finally finding her haven, she didn't quite know.
As the lovers held each other under the moonlight, the people passing gradually vanished one by one, even the birds had quieted, and a faint swoosh could be heard from below the river.

Hilarious concept for Ex-Ganger Tai:
He's just having a decent time, when he gets visited by this dude:
Tumblr media
Turns out, he was part of one of the largest Mistrali mafia families as a subsidiary. Naturally, Yang freaks out, Tai craves the end, and his former boss is just like 'hmmm, I like this tea :)'.
"Dad, there's somebody here to see you!"
Taiyang walked down the stairs, stopping mid-step to stare in horror at the smiling face, staring back at him from his doorway. Hong Lu, an executive of one of Spider's many "allies" in Taiyang's gang days. He swallowed hard as memories came back to him of the aftermaths he'd seen from his friends choosing to fight him.
And that monster was right outside his door.
"May I come in?" The man asked.
"Can he, Dad?" Ruby repeated.
Whether it was his nerves causing him to tremble or his good intentions to respect a dangerous ghost of his past, he shook his head, allowing Hong Lu to enter his home, and his life once more.
"Thank you." He said, stepping inside. "Let me introduce myself. My name is Hong Lu. Are you Yang?"
"No, I'm Ruby Rose."
"Oh, so you and Raven had another girl?"
"Er, n-no, Ruby is mine and Summer's child." Taiyang cautiously answered.
"Two children from two mothers." Hong Lu nodded. "You must be as popular as you were back in your day."
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.
"Your father slept with a lot of women back in his day." Taiyang's jaw dropped when he heard those tactless words.
"Slept with?" Ruby asked. "Did he have a lot of sleepovers?"
"YUP!" Taiyang jumped down the stairs. "Yeah, your old man was one sleepy boy! Hahahaha! Let's get lunch!"
"If it's no trouble."
"NOPE! No trouble at all!" Taiyang ran over and picked up his daughter. "Could you come help me with lunch, Ruby!"
"Can we bake cookies?" Ruby excitedly asked.
Taiyang was caught in a tight scenario. Ruby had been craving cookies ever since Summer had passed, and his memory of her baking left him wanting of her skill. If Summer's cookies were five stars, he'd be lucky to get two. Still, though, Ruby would be stuck alone with Hong Lu otherwise.
"Y-Yes." Taiyang had never felt so defeated.
---------------------------------------------------
Qrow was smashed into a tree. Raven had her sword broken and was put into the mud. Dad was being held by his throat above the ground. At the end of the arm holding him was a man with an armored pauldron and long, flowing black hair.
Yang cowered on the porch behind her mother, the woman acting as the only barrier between her and the dark-haired beast that beat their team. She whimpered for her daddy, shivering as she prayed for his safety.
Suddenly, she felt a weight and was blinded. Pulling the cloth free, she watched as her mother left her cape to her. Glancing over her shoulder, she gave a confident smile to her daughter. 'Take care of this for me,' she seemed to say.
She then faced the monster dead on.
"Let go of him." She said.
"I can't do that." The monster said. "There are people looking for him. Dangerous people."
"If you won't let go of him," she readied her axe, "then I'll make you."
Fast as lightning, metal clashed against metal as a long, bladed spear-thing met Sundered Rose. Less as fast, Dad fell and writhed as he clutched his throat and coughed. He then broke into a sprint for the house and picked up Yang, holding her close as he hid inside. He cried as he hugged her in the closet.
Today was the second time Yang had seen her father look so terrified. She couldn't blame him. There were nights, though far away they seem now, that went sleepless because the black beast she saw stalked close by in her dreams, chasing her daddy.
And now, he was sitting in the living room, politely waiting for his cookies. He sat there, unmoving save for a glance at a photo or two. Yang, on the other hand, was entirely frozen, never taking her eyes off of him. Of all the times for Uncle Qrow to be out.
"Uh, the cookies will be a minute." Dad said, nervously in Mom's old apron. "Anything you want to drink?"
"Tea, please."
Her father was the strongest man she had ever met. Watching him cower in the face of this monster scared her. She really wished Mommy was here, but... She wasn't. Not anymore.
"Oh, and Taiyang?" The man then said something in Mountain Mistrali. Yang was still learning, but she caught one word. Rat. And Yang still didn't understand what he meant.
---------------------------------------------------
"Mm, this is delicious." Hu Long set his tea down. "Your skills in teamaking hasn't dwindled."
"Er, th-thank you." Taiyang gulped. "Um, why are you here?"
"There are people looking for you, Xiao Long. And they're branching out." Taiyang looked him in the eyes. "Soon enough, they'll find you and likely kill you and your family."
At this, Yang burst into tears and hugged her father, seeking comfort in him. He couldn't take his eyes off the man sitting across from him, though. Even as he stroked her hair and pulled her close, he couldn't tear away. Ruby clung tightly to his clothes.
"Unless," Hu Long reached for his cup, "you work for the Limbus Company." He pulled the cup to his lips and took another sip. "You and your family will move to Mistral, where we can provide protection for all of you."
"No."
Taiyang's eyes finally tore away from the man and looked to his youngest daughter. Her grip was tight, but she kept her eyes on the man. She wasn't going to back down on the issue.
"You're choosing to stay, knowing that your family will be in danger?" The unknown man leaned closer. "These aren't schoolyard bullies. These are dangerous criminals who will make you wish you were dead."
"My school is here." Ruby argued. "And I get to build my weapon this year."
"Is your weapon worth losing your life?" Taiyang forgot how direct Hu Long got during his questioning. He didn't care that he was speaking to an actual 8 year old. As far as he was concerned, everyone was an adult living in an adult world, and should be treated as such.
"Yeah, because I'm gonna save a bunch of people with it!"
Hu Long was quiet for a moment. He reached for his tea, but found it empty. Setting it back into it's saucer, he nodded. "Very well. I'll make calls about working from a distance." With a chuckle, he lifted his cup. "That is, if you can give me more tea."

shielding the other one with their body
To say she was surprised to feel something barrel into her was an understatement. Malvina was almost thrown off her feet at the strength of what caught her from behind, the blue-haired woman turning with a sharp retort waiting on her tongue. But that all quickly melted away the moment she realised it was not a something that shoved her; but a someone.
The boy stood up shakily, the woman wasting no time to hold her hands out and help him stand.
“Hey, you alright, dear? Are you hurt?” she asked quietly, stealing a breath at the clear skies staring back at her in the young boy's eyes. Though not the same, they were… similar, yes. And they held the same worry she would recognise from a mile away, already seeing the mounted apology brewing in his mind before he could even go to voice it.
“I-I'm so sorry I didn't mean to shove you, ma'am!"
Malvina shook her head, dusting the boy's shoulders. "Don't fret in the least bit, okay? No one was hurt, it's fine." She gave him another smile but it was quick to wane on seeing the still etched-in worry on the boy's face. Though she kept her tone light as she spoke to him. "Why the rush? In a hurry to reach somewhere?" She asked curiously, watching as the boy's eyes widened again.
"Um-!"
"Pinocchio!"
Oh that was a shrill voice she'd recognise from anywhere.
Sure enough she saw Reul Ghorm in the flesh, in clothes she'd never seen her in before and striding towards them with a purpose. The hand she still had on the boy could feel him growing stiff, Pinocchio ready to bolt at any moment and yet he seemed frozen as though a deer caught in headlights.
Malvina didn't need to know anything else to realise just who had caused him this much grief. She didn't need the whys or how's or what's. If she was any similar to what she knew in her own realm… Gods, is this someone he can never escape?
Her eyes narrowed her hand still on his shoulder as she straightened up, pulling the boy Immediately behind her the moment the brunette reached them.
"Can I help you, miss?" She asked with the coldness of a polar icecap, watching calmly as Blue finally reached them.
"I need to speak with him." The Blue Fairy stated, straightening up in the process.
Malvina, with her hand still held out behind her to keep the boy back, huffed quietly. "With a tone like that? I don't think so."
"Pinocchio, step out from behind the lady this instant." The Fairy asked, Malvina stiffening herself under the scrutiny she was showing.
Seems that hasn't changed around here.
"He will not. And you won't be issuing the demands here either." Malvina continued, as she stepped a touch closer. "Just what horror has a boy like this committed that you felt it was right to yell at him like this?
"That is none of your-"
"It becomes my business the moment it involves a child being in your particular company." Mavina interrupted, biting back a grin at the indiginant glare that took over what calm the fairy previously had on.
"How dare you-"
"Yes, how dare I indeed. May I remind you that it is your duty to guide the children of this world and not break them over every whim and wrong, Blue. Is this something you of all people needed to be told about?" Malvina continued, her words unwavering as solid oak, despite the growing flame in front of her.
"I don't know what story he's spun for you already but you have no reason to get involved." Blue proclaimed, Malvina allowing herself the desire to scoff.
"He doesn't need to tell me any story or half-truths even, it's always been issues with you in particular." She quipped, smirking at the fae's continued annoyance. "Has he already worked to make amends?"
"He-
"It's a simple yes or no question you don't need to give me more than a single word as an answer."
Blue bristled, glancing around at the boy still behind the other. "No. No he has not."
Malvina nodded glancing back down at the boy still behind her. "Prok-Pinocchio?" She corrected herself, seeing the boy look up. "What does one usually say when they've made a mistake?"
His eyes were on the ground again, Malvina watching with sympathy as he wrung his hands together. "I'm sorry. It was only an accident I-I didn't mean to break it."
"You should be well aware about how-"
"That's enough." Malvina whipped around and shot back.
"Miss, this boy-"
"I said back off, Reul Ghorm!" The Fae demanded a little louder, her lips forming a thing line as she glared up at the fairy. "You do not need to lecture him any further. Kindly take your leave."
The women stared off, one looming over the other. But Malvina couldn't bring herself to care. She was never bothered about her defiance, especially when this bitch was involved. So she stood, squared shoulders up and head raised higher, an unrelenting shield against whatever the woman may still try to throw their way. The Blue Fairy stepped back, the anger still prominent but lessening.
"Geppetto will be hearing of this. As well the Sheriff." She glared back at Malvina before walking away.
"And I'm sure both will be delighted to hear how you tried to take your emotions out on him so publicly." Malvina called back, uncaring about the look she was shot. She watched on until the fairy left, letting herself relax at last.
"I'm really sorry about this."
She looked down as Pinocchio spoke once more. The ocean was once more turbulent, a sight she was all too familiar with as she crouched down once more, giving the boy another smile once more.
"You don't have to apologise to me, dear. And I'm sure whatever it is that happened didn't warrant such a reaction from her."
"You don't really know that." He commented, the boy looking up at her.
"Well then, call it my intuition instead." She held the smile again as she spoke, her eyes warm and quiet. "And again, my intuition tells me that nothing warrants such hostility."
"It was some garden statue or something, but it was an accident, I-I swear!" He exclaimed.
"I believe you. And again, I tell you, it's okay." She tilted her head a touch, trying to catch the boy's gaze. "Chin up, little sunflower, there's nothing to be upset about. What's broken can still be fixed." She pointed out, her smile widening at the curious look the boy gave her. She waved her hand, watching the stardust form and fall. He looked on in wonder, eliciting a chuckle from the woman. "So how about you show me what it is that happened and we go do exactly that?"
