I would most recommend The League of Seven to fans of Percy Jackson and The Heroes of Olympus books.
In both, seven superpowered kids come together because of destiny (or something) to fight mythological monsters that are secretly actually real and save the world from destruction by evil forces, while having tragic backstories and traumatic experiences. And saying funny quips!!!
TLOS book one is sort of like if Annabeth, Leo, and a very young and optimistic Nico went on a quest together.
And fought evil Thomas Edison.

Birth Chart Breakdown- Pluto in the Houses: The Phoenix Within
Pluto does not whisper, it pulls you into the fire, strips you of illusion, and demands your rebirth. It is the shadow that follows you until you turn to face it, the destruction that clears the path for something greater. It rules the unseen forces of life, power, fear, control, surrender, transformation, and wherever it falls in your chart, that is where you will be undone and rebuilt, not once, but again and again.
This is not an easy journey. It is one of deep pain, soul-stretching lessons, and the courage to lose everything you thought you were, only to rise stronger. Pluto’s gift is not gentle, but it is profound: true power, the kind that cannot be taken, because it is born from within.
🌑 Pluto in the 1st House You are not who they told you to be. You have spent your life walking through fire, burning off the masks, shedding the layers of expectation, standing in the ruins of who you once were. Pluto in the First House forces you to confront yourself, raw, unfiltered, unbreakable. Others may fear your intensity, sensing the weight of your presence, the depth behind your eyes. You have walked through the storm of identity crises, of feeling unseen, of being too much and yet never enough. But this journey is about self-sovereignty, about reclaiming every fragmented piece of yourself and forging a presence so undeniable that even silence speaks your name.
💎 Pluto in the 2nd House What happens when everything you built your security upon crumbles? You have known loss, not just of money or possessions, but of self-worth, of believing you had to prove your value. Maybe you grew up feeling that love was conditional, that your worth was measured in what you could give, do, or achieve. Pluto in the Second House strips you of false securities, forcing you to find your foundation within. The world may take your riches, your titles, your comforts, but what you build from within is untouchable. True power is not in what you own, it is in who you are when you have nothing left but yourself.
🖋 Pluto in the 3rd House Your mind is a battlefield, thoughts that haunt, words that wound, truths that refuse to stay buried. Maybe you grew up silenced, told your ideas were wrong, or that your voice was not meant to be heard. Maybe your own mind has been your captor, replaying the past like an unbreakable loop. But Pluto here asks: What if your words are not chains, but keys? Your thoughts hold the power to create, to destroy, to shift reality itself. When you stop fearing your own voice, when you speak the truth no matter how it shakes the room, you will understand, language is magic, and yours was never meant to be quiet.
🏚 Pluto in the 4th House The walls that were meant to shelter you may have instead imprisoned you. Pluto in the Fourth House means home was not always safe, that family left wounds too deep for time to erase. You may carry the weight of generations, unspoken pain, inherited fear, patterns repeating like a song you never meant to sing. But Pluto does not let you stay trapped in the past. You are meant to break the cycle, to be the one who chooses healing over history. The home you came from does not define you, the home you create within yourself does.
🎭 Pluto in the 5th House There is a masterpiece inside you, a passion so deep it terrifies you. But do you dare to show it? Pluto here makes creativity a battlefield, maybe your art, your love, your joy was once criticized, stolen, or made to feel like it wasn’t enough. Love may have been a battlefield too, intense, intoxicating, but always leaving you breathless and burned. But the truth is, your essence was never meant to be hidden. Pluto asks you to reclaim your voice, your art, your desire to be seen, not for approval, but because you exist, and that is enough.
🛠 Pluto in the 6th House You cannot run from yourself forever. Pluto in the Sixth House makes the body a mirror, every unhealed wound, every suppressed truth manifesting as exhaustion, as illness, as the feeling that no matter how much you do, it is never enough. You have lived through cycles of burnout, pushing yourself to the edge, thinking that to be worthy, you must be useful. But Pluto demands transformation, not through overwork, but through healing. Rest is rebellion. Nourishing yourself is power. Your purpose was never to be consumed by labor, it was to rise, whole and radiant, into the life that was meant for you.
🤝 Pluto in the 7th House Love, to you, has never been gentle. It has been intense, consuming, the kind that leaves you altered, the kind that feels fated. Pluto in the Seventh House draws you to relationships that feel like mirrors, showing you your shadows, your fears, your deepest wounds. But this is not a punishment, it is the path to learning true intimacy. Not the kind built on power struggles or control, but the kind where you stand fully in your truth, unafraid of losing those who were never meant to stay.
🌑 Pluto in the 8th House You have met the abyss and survived it. You have seen endings that came too soon, trusted hands that later betrayed, felt the earth shake beneath you only to realize you were the earthquake all along. Pluto in the Eighth House forces you to face death, not literal, but the kind that leaves you forever changed. It asks you to surrender, to let go of control, to trust that loss is not the end, but the beginning. You were not meant to live on the surface. you are here to dive deep, to understand the hidden, to emerge from every ending stronger than before.
🚀 Pluto in the 9th House Once, you thought you knew. Then Pluto came, and tore down every belief you had, leaving you stranded between the past and the unknown. Maybe it was a crisis of faith, a journey that changed you, a mentor who made you question everything. Pluto here forces you to seek your own truth, not the one given to you, but the one you discover in the wreckage. This is the path of wisdom, not certainty, but curiosity, the kind that never stops asking, never stops seeking, never stops growing.
🏆 Pluto in the 10th House The world sees your ambition, your drive, but what they don’t see is the weight you carry, the sacrifices made, the moments you almost gave up. Pluto in the Tenth House makes success a trial by fire, careers lost and rebuilt, reputations shattered and restored. You were never meant for an easy path, you were meant to forge a legacy, one built on authenticity, not just achievement.
🌎 Pluto in the 11th House You have stood on the outside, searching for where you belong. Pluto in the Eleventh House forces you to leave behind shallow connections and align with those who truly see you. Betrayals may have taught you that not all friendships are forever, but they also led you to your true community, the ones who stand beside you, not for status, but for truth.
🌌 Pluto in the 12th House You carry worlds inside you, dreams, intuition, secrets buried so deep even you forget they are there. Pluto in the Twelfth House is the final surrender, to the unknown, to the divine, to the parts of yourself that cannot be controlled, only embraced. Let go. Trust the darkness. You are not lost. You are becoming.

I wrote yesterday:
The Jew is a sort of Rorschach test. People see in the Jew whatever suits their agenda. Banker, radical, victim, conspirator, communist, capitalist... Just never quite human.
I know Jumblr prefers the pithy, but I want to extend the metaphor.
---
The Rorschach test, as you might know, was meant to be a way to identify or classify difficulties of the human mind.
The patient was shown a series of inkblots, ambiguous shapes without any fixed meanings. The therapist would then invite the patient to describe what they saw in the inkblot shapes. Since the shapes were ambiguous, what the patient saw in these shapes, wasn't ever about the shapes themselves, but a means to supposedly reveal the structures of the patient's own psyche. Pareidolia as a diagnostic tool.
Tumblr media
The Jew as a Rorschach Test: Antisemitism as Projection
How a society sees Jews has almost never actually described the Jews of that society as much as it has revealed something about the society itself.
The Jew, because he is not actually understood by the society, is, like the inkblot, ambiguous. Since he is other and unknown, he is subject to wildly divergent interpretations, none of which reflect the Jew's life/beliefs/practices/values. Instead, what a society sees in the Jew reflects that society's needs, fears, and crises.
In medieval, Christian Europe, the Jew was the other - falsely accused of killing Jesus Christ, desecrating the host, and poisoning the wells. These accusations were baseless and absurd, but they must have felt true and valid to those whose world was defined by the overwhelming, omnipresent Christian binary dualities of the place and time: good vs. evil, salvation vs. damnation.
The Jew, as the outsider, wasn't just not-a-Christian, but a Christ-killer. He was an inkblot in which the medieval Christian's guilt, anxiety about sin, and need for a scapegoat was projected. The very ambiguity of the way the Jew existed within Christendom without being part of it, made Jew the perfect surface for unconscious projection.
Just as one person sees a butterfly in an inkblot while another sees a bat, Christians saw in Jews either satanic enemies or (more rarely) proof of divine mercy. Either way, what the observer saw in the inkblot wasn't based on any reality about the inkblot itself, but based on the fears of the observer.
The modern period generated a new set of anxieties: urbanization, financial abstraction, and political revolution. The Rorschach Jew here reflected contradictions at the core of modernity itself. In 19th century Europe, Jews were simultaneously seen as both the faceless financiers of capitalism and the radical firebrands of socialism.
This is the classic Rorschach dynamic, isn't it? Contradictory accusations projected onto the same ambiguous stimulus. How could Jews be categorically both hoarding wealth and fomenting class war?
Such a thing was only believable because the image of "the Jew" was not based in reality, but in the social psyche.
Like an inkblot, the Jew became a surface onto which irreconcilable social and economic tensions could be emotionally "resolved."
The 19th century also brought us Modern Nationalism. The Rorschach test was also supposed to measure boundary confusion, how people respond to ambiguous figures that blur inside and outside, self and other. That's what the Jew was in the European 19th century nation state.
Jews in Europe and elsewhere were frequently depicted as simultaneously hyper-assimilated (too much like us) and radically other (an alien threat among us).
This duality in which the othered Jew was simultaneously the ultimate insider and the ultimate outsider provoked a special kind of nationalist panic.
Antisemitism here operates like a defense mechanism against that ambivalence and national identity anxiety. The Jew becomes the inkblot where cultural boundaries are tested and violated. The fear isn't of Jews themselves, but of what they symbolize: the failure of clear categories.
Haviv Rettig Gur talked about the advent of the new mass societies of modern nation states as social constructs in the 19th century.
And in this world of new Mass Societies, in this shift from small, agrarian, maybe religious identities to Mass National Identities...they develop these ideologies of nationalism that try and police the boundaries of these identities to firm them up, make sure that they stay strong.
The Nazi problem with the Jews, says Haviv, is seen in Mein Kampf, and was driven by insecurity about German identity.
If Germanness is tribal and blood and ancient and biological and we can measure it by testing your skull...and a Jew in the morning can be a German in the evening...?
[Hitler believed] the boundaries of germanness are hard, the membrane is impermeable. It is biology, it is real- and what is the Jew doing? He's popping in and out all the time! He's perforating the membrane of germanness! If a Jew could be a German and something else, if you can have layers...you can't have absolute identity. And if you can't have absolute identity what is the German? The Jews endanger Germanness!
In the aftermath of the Holocaust, the Rorschach dynamic persisted. The image of the Jew in the West becomes morally saturated: a figure of sacrosanct victimhood for some, a lightning rod for resentment in others. In each case, the actual Jewish person disappears, and what remains is a symbol - an inkblot onto which guilt, denial, and moral discomfort are projected.
Read Dara Horn's People Love Dead Jews. Horn argues that the world's love for "dead Jews" is a form of perverse moral posturing, a way for societies to affirm their own virtue by honoring Jewish suffering...but this only works if Jews are no longer alive to complicate the ego-saving narrative.
Horn notes how the Holocaust is sanitized, depoliticized, and turned into a universal morality tale that erases real Jewish lives, culture, and ongoing challenges. She contends that many memorials and educational efforts, while well-intentioned, often serve to comfort non-Jewish audiences rather than confront uncomfortable truths about antisemitism or support living Jewish communities.
Some in the post-Holocaust world, especially after 10/7/23, accuse Jews of "playing the victim" or "controlling the narrative." Again, these reactions say less about Jews and more about the viewer’s need to process trauma, responsibility, and historical shame.
Today, in both far-right and far-left discourse, the Jew remains a shifting inkblot: billionaire globalist or Zionist oppressor, cultural subversive or imperial power broker. In conspiracy theories, Jews are often imagined as orchestrating both migration and ethnonationalism, feminism and patriarchy, capitalism and Marxism.
This incoherence is diagnostic. It reveals the deep psychological fragmentation within those projecting the image. As in a Rorschach test, the lack of internal logic is not a bug, but a feature. The more the image can absorb contradiction, the more effective it is as a projection surface.
To treat the Jew as Rorschach test is to shift the analytical gaze from the image to the viewer.
It is the society looking at the inkblot - the anxieties, disavowals, and desires which are revealed in what it sees when it gazes on the inkblot and sees itself.
Antisemitism, in this metaphor, is not about Jews or anything Jews believe or do.
Understanding antisemitism through this lens allows us to see that no amount of Jewish integration, explanation, or visibility can resolve the problem, because the Jew is not being seen as a person. They are being looked through, like an inkblot, revealing the shapes of other people’s fears.
I suspect that Israelis generally understand this better than those of us in the diaspora.
What do you think? What lesson should we take from this?

✨️Hekate is the 100th asteroid, she is the place we go to in our astrological charts to find out what we need to do to discern our direction in life✨️
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Aries: Your drive for change is direct and bold. This position can manifest as a need to make quick and determined decisions. You have a strong sense of independence and are drawn to exploring the unknown or the forbidden. You are a pioneer on your own path, willing to break barriers and challenge the established. However, your challenge is not to rush too much and learn to listen to the warning signs of the universe, to avoid impulsive decisions. Hekate's magic here asks for patience to channel your energy towards more conscious and strategic decisions.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Taurus: Transformation comes through the material, the sensual and the physical. Your relationship with worldly pleasures and emotional security can be a space where you face crossroads in life. You may face times when you need to let go of what gives you comfort in order to grow and evolve. You often seek stability, but Hekate challenges you to find a balance between your earthly desires and connection to the deepest part of your being. True abundance and growth come when you learn to let go of fears related to possessiveness or rigidity, allowing change to flow into your life.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Gemini: Here, Hekate connects you to the mystery of hidden knowledge and truths that are beyond the superficial. You have a gift for uncovering what others don't see, whether in words, ideas, or connections. The challenge, however, is not to spread yourself too thin, as this energy can lead you to jump from one thing to another without going deep enough. Your spiritual journey may be through the mind and communications, but you must learn to discern what is truly important.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Cancer: Manifests in your life through your deepest emotions and your connection to home, family, and the past. Crossroads may present themselves in your close relationships or domestic life, where you must learn to balance the need for protection with the need for release. You are capable of navigating the darkest emotional waters, but Hekate teaches you not to get stuck in the past, but to use those experiences to heal and renew yourself.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Leo: Your path of transformation is closely tied to your creative expression and your sense of personal power. You are a magnetic person, with a deep need to shine and leave a mark. However, Hekate's influence may bring moments where you are faced with dilemmas about your identity and what it really means to "be yourself." You may go through periods of doubt or identity crises, but these are moments of profound transformation where you can be reborn from your own ashes. Learn to integrate your shadows with your light, embracing every facet of your being without fear of vulnerability.
🧚‍♀️ Hekate in Virgo: Your journey of transformation is tied to the pursuit of perfection, organization, and health. You face crossroads in how you can improve and transform your life through service and constant improvement. Hekate challenges you to let go of the need for excessive control and self-criticism, showing you that true magic is in the acceptance of your imperfections and the power of routine and daily care. True transformation occurs when you learn to balance perfection with acceptance and self-care.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Libra: Relationships are the area of your life where the biggest crossroads present themselves. Important decisions may arise around what you need in a partner or partnership, and how to balance your independence with the desire for togetherness. Hekate invites you to find the truth in what unites you to others and to release relationships that no longer serve you. Your moments of change may come through your closest connections. Balance in your relationships should be a reflection of your own inner harmony. Don't be afraid to cut ties that prevent you from evolving.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Scorpio: This is a powerful placement, as Scorpio is a sign that naturally connects with transformation, mystery, and shadows. Here, Hekate challenges you to face your deepest fears and walk through the fire of purification. The goddess guides you through the darkest moments of your life, showing you that only by facing your own demons can you be reborn stronger. This influence gives you a deep connection to hidden power, whether in yourself or in the world around you.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Sagittarius: Expanding your consciousness and accessing deeper truths are key. The future is presented as a constant quest for wisdom and exploration, and Hekate guides you toward philosophical and spiritual paths you may never have considered. You are drawn to the mystical and the unknown, and you may feel like destiny is taking you to faraway lands, whether literally or figuratively. But you must remember that not all knowledge is superficial - you are not alone. Some journeys must be internal.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Capricorn: Your path of transformation is closely tied to your career, your ambition, and your sense of purpose in the world. The crossroads you face are often related to how you balance your desires for success with the need to follow your own truth. Hekate challenges you not to get stuck in rigidity or routine, but to recognize that true power comes from a deep connection to your purpose. The magic is in the integration of discipline with the desire to evolve spiritually, without letting work disconnect you from what really matters.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Aquarius: Connects you with the future and the energies of social change. You are a visionary person, but your crossroads may arise when you try to balance your desire for independence with the needs of the collective. Hekate's influence invites you to fight for the common good, but always from a place of authenticity. Your transformative decisions can have a positive impact on your community, as long as you remain true to your vision. True freedom and social change come when you are able to maintain your authenticity without compromising your values to fit into the conventional.
🧚‍♀️Hekate in Pisces: The connection with the mystical and the invisible is deep. This position gives you a gift for spiritual work, intuition, and healing. Your moments of transformation are often linked to connection with the universe, deep emotions, and spiritual insights. However, the challenge is not to get lost in illusion or fantasy. Hekate's magic here invites you to find a balance between the material and spiritual world, without falling into dispersion. The spiritual transformation you seek must be anchored in reality, using your intuition to guide you without letting the shadows confuse you.

the (essentially) government raised super weapon needs a little help realizing he also wants to blow shit up in the parking lot out back but luckily cub is here to support <3
snippet below the cut
Idly, from the crack of his ajar bedroom door, Cub watched Scar through gentle eyes, the other sitting at the couch, ever so slightly slumped as he watched the news, or maybe watch was a strong word, because it looked a bit more like he was sleeping. An awake Scar was never so still, so relaxed, the rise and fall of his shoulders never so slow. An awake Scar typically knew when he was being watched, a strong internal sense, and he would turn around, arm draped over the back of the sofa with a lazy smile, and Cub might greet him, or he might just shut the door, the observation not nearly as fun when the other knew he was there. Cub smiled, basking in the opportunity to simply look without being known. Scar’s hair was a certified mess, more than it usually was, the funny little cowlick at the back of his head completely out of control. Not that Scar ever tried very hard to tame it anyway. But today he didn’t have to try at all, because today he was here, and there were no cameras, no scrutiny. Well, maybe there was a little scrutiny, but Grian wasn’t home right now. Just Cub. Just Cub.
Scar’s legs were in the shop today, routine maintenance and things, but instead of spending the day in town as he typically did on these types of off days, he asked to spend it here, to just hang out, relax. Take off the mask and not think at all. And who would Cub be to deny him?
There was something so deeply satisfying seeing him here, out of uniform. He had arrived in it out of necessity; very few people had no legs and wheelchairs decked out in HotGuy merchandise, but Scar had changed once inside, visibly reveling in the luxury of being Here. In a place with people he trusted. No mask. No legs. No uniform. Being.. Scar. Given the nuclear identity crises Scar had been experiencing lately, this was nothing short of the ultimate freedom. And what an honor to be able to provide that, to be trusted enough that even a man so deeply insecure of his place in the world could find it in himself to just relax around you. To be himself. To fall asleep on the sofa without the fear of sharp edges.
Cub ducked out of his room, tip-toeing over to shut off the news. He didn’t care to hear it, and didn’t think it was too good for Scar either, not today. The scene reimagined to his liking, Cub slunk back to his room then walked from it again, normally, and draped his arms around Scar’s neck, humming. Scar roused, and Cub got the pleasure of seeing him blink away sleep.
“Ello,” Scar mumbled, leaning back to hit Cub’s chest with his head, and Cub closed his eyes, a small smile forming across his lips (maybe. Sometimes when he thought he was smiling, he didn’t look any different at all, his mind’s eye only playing tricks on his physical sense of self).
“Hi. You tired?”
Scar gave the question a moment of thought, endearingly, trying to push back further into the couch, like the barrier between them was a great frustration. Cub didn’t make any move to be closer, internally amused. Scar sighed, “Not really. Just got a bit bored, closed my eyes. Was still listening.”
Cub very much doubted that. He didn’t think Scar was lying or anything, just that he simply didn’t know how asleep he really was. No point addressing it though. “That’s good. I was thinking about you, y’know.” Cub snaked around the side of the couch, settling himself half on top of Scar, probably with far less grace than he was imagining. Whatever the case, Scar didn’t seem to care, looking more delighted than anything to have Cub so close.

Why do we believe Katniss was bad?
Okay, the title might feel a little misleading — and I did that on purpose ;)
Let’s be real: no one outright thinks Katniss was evil or a bad person. But not everyone fully understands her personality, and this often leads to unfair comparisons, especially with Peeta. Why is Peeta placed on a pedestal while Katniss gets labeled as “unworthy”?
1. Katniss is an unreliable narrator
We all know Katniss is her own harshest critic. She relentlessly picks at her flaws, second-guesses her decisions, and downplays her achievements. And let’s not forget: she’s a teenager. Who on Earth actually likes themselves at sixteen? That age is a messy cocktail of insecurity, identity crises, and, for Katniss, literal survival.
Her narration reflects her tendency to diminish herself. She assumes her bravery, self-sacrifice, and quick thinking are things anyone would do in her position. This self-effacing perspective shapes how readers perceive her — because we see her through the lens of her own insecurities.
2. Haymitch’s role in the misconception
Let’s talk about Haymitch. He’s a big factor in how people interpret Katniss. His straightforwardness and willingness to call her out, while often helpful, also feed into this narrative of her supposed unworthiness.
The infamous line — “You could live a hundred lifetimes and never deserve that boy” — is a prime example. Many fans took it at face value, interpreting it as a comparison: Peeta is a saint, and Katniss just isn’t good enough. But hold on — what’s Haymitch really saying here?
Haymitch and Katniss are deeply similar, and Katniss acknowledges this herself. Both are survivors shaped by trauma, guilt, and a desperate need to protect the people they love. Haymitch likely projects his own feelings of unworthiness onto Katniss. Maybe he’s reflecting on someone he thought he didn’t deserve. His comment isn’t about Peeta being a perfect angel and Katniss being “less than” — it’s about his own baggage, and Katniss internalizes it the same way she internalizes everything else critical of her (can’t wait for Sunrise on the Reaping!!)
I can’t emphasise enough how much Haymitch affected our perception of Katniss and probably will never find words to describe how perfect it is. I think it was a beautiful way (in the literal sense) to show how deeply they are connected.
3. Katniss puts Peeta on the pedestal first
It’s worth remembering that Katniss is the one who idealizes Peeta before anyone else does. She sees him as her dandelion — a symbol of hope and light. She’s constantly comparing his warmth and kindness to her own pragmatic, survivalist nature.
And, again, she’s a teenager. While Katniss doesn’t seem overly preoccupied with her self-esteem (she has more pressing concerns, like not dying), it’s clear in the way she thinks about herself that she doesn’t feel “enough.” Of course she buys into Haymitch’s comment — it aligns with the narrative she already believes about herself and about Peeta.
4. Neither Katniss nor Peeta are perfect — and that’s why they’re perfect together
Here’s the thing: neither Katniss nor Peeta are saints. They’re flawed, traumatized, and deeply human. And that’s what makes their relationship so compelling.
Katniss is resourceful, fiercely loyal, and willing to do what needs to be done — qualities Peeta admires and needs. Peeta, in turn, is empathetic, kind, and an anchor for Katniss when she’s consumed by fear, despair or anger. Together, they balance each other. They’re partners in every sense, not because one is inherently better or more deserving, but because they make everything work — either it’s their flaws that make them human, demons that haunt them or their best qualities.
So, no, Katniss isn’t “bad,” and she isn’t “unworthy.” She’s just a girl trying to survive, navigate an impossible situation, and protect the people she loves. And for that, we owe her a lot more credit.

Erik Menendez & His Big Three
Tumblr media
Sagittarius Sun in the 4th House @ 5 Degrees (Leo & Fame Degree)
The Sun represents the core of our identity, our sense of self, and our life’s purpose. In Sagittarius, Erik’s Sun placement reveals a strong need for freedom, truth, and exploration. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, meaning that Erik would have had an innate desire to seek new experiences, learn about the world, and push boundaries. However, his Sun falls in the 4th House, the house of family, home, and emotional foundations. This placement indicates that Erik’s personal identity was deeply tied to his family and upbringing. Sagittarius energy, which craves freedom and independence, is at odds with the 4th House’s focus on roots and emotional security, suggesting an internal conflict between wanting to break free from family expectations and being bound to them.
Adding in 5 degrees to the mix, this placement takes on an even more dramatic tone. The Leo degree is associated with fame, leadership, and public recognition, but fame that often comes with a price. Erik’s life, tied so deeply to his family, was thrust into the public eye, but the fame came in the form of a high-profile trial and infamy rather than personal achievement. The Leo energy enhances the importance of ego and the need to be seen, and in Erik’s case, his family issues became a matter of public spectacle, with his identity forever linked to the notoriety of his family drama. This placement suggests a life in which his personal self was never fully separate from the public’s view of his family, reinforcing the theme of fame tied to painful consequences.
Scorpio Moon in the 3rd House @ 26 Degrees (Taurus Degree)
The Moon governs our emotional world, instincts, and how we seek comfort. With the Moon in Scorpio, Erik’s emotional landscape would have been intense, secretive, and full of deep psychological complexity. Scorpio is a sign that delves into the undercurrents of life—power, control, transformation, and emotional extremes. Scorpio Moons are known to feel things deeply, often experiencing emotions like betrayal, fear, and obsession. Erik likely internalized his emotions, feeling an intense need to guard his vulnerabilities. Scorpio is also ruled by Pluto, the planet of transformation and rebirth, which indicates that Erik’s emotional experiences would have often been life-altering or tied to significant crises. Scorpio Moons also have a tendency to hold onto emotional wounds, and in Erik’s case, this would have manifested as a deep-seated resentment and pain connected to his family.
In the 3rd House, which rules communication, siblings, and immediate environment, Erik’s Moon placement suggests that these intense emotional experiences were tied to his interactions with his family—particularly his brother, Lyle, and the communication within the household and even now in prison. This is a placement of emotional power struggles, especially between siblings or close family members, where conversations and relationships are colored by secrecy, manipulation, and control. The Taurus degree (26 degrees) adds an additional layer to this. Taurus is associated with stability, material wealth, and comfort. While Scorpio is emotionally turbulent, Taurus craves peace and security. This degree suggests that Erik’s emotional turmoil was compounded by the material abundance he was surrounded by, a luxurious yet emotionally toxic environment. It indicates that while Erik lived in comfort and wealth, his emotional life was anything but secure. He may have felt trapped by the wealth that surrounded him, further intensifying his feelings of powerlessness and resentment toward his family. I believe this could be why he feels so free in prison. Wealth is a burden for Erik.
Virgo Ascendant @ 4 Degrees (Cancer Degree)
The Ascendant, or rising sign, represents how we approach life, how others perceive us, and the persona we project to the world. With Virgo Ascendant, Erik’s outward personality would have been seen as analytical, detail-oriented, and somewhat reserved. Virgo risings are often critical of themselves and others, always striving for perfection. They tend to be practical and controlled, preferring to focus on details and order. This placement suggests that Erik might have appeared composed, responsible, and even meticulous in how he managed his life and interactions, especially within his family. However, Virgo risings can also be highly self-critical, and this often manifests as internal pressure to meet impossible standards, especially in a family dynamic where expectations are high.
At 4 degrees, Erik’s Ascendant is linked to Cancer energy, which adds an emotional, family-oriented layer to his Virgo rising. Cancer is ruled by the Moon and governs family, maternal influences, and emotional security. This degree suggests that Erik’s outward demeanor and his approach to life were profoundly shaped by his relationship with his family, especially his mother. 4 degrees emphasizes emotional nurturing (or lack thereof), and in most cases, this degree points to deep "mommy issues" and unresolved emotional wounds connected to maternal care. Erik’s Virgo rising would have made him appear rational and controlled on the outside, but the Cancer influence shows that underneath this exterior, there were deep emotional scars and unmet emotional needs, particularly tied to his mom, Kitty.

🔹 Square – Chaos leads to awakening. Life places you in situations that challenge you to embrace change rather than resist it. Sudden upheavals force you to let go of control and step into the unknown with courage.
🔹 Trine/Sextile – Destiny unfolds in exciting, unexpected ways. You naturally attract opportunities for growth through unconventional paths, new technology, and radical ideas. Life always seems to lead you toward progress and innovation.
✨ Key theme: You are meant to embrace change, not fear it. Your destiny is tied to innovation, freedom, and unexpected breakthroughs.

Desert Dust & Dragon Ball Dreams: A Deep-Dive Of My New Headcanon;
Tumblr media
---
*“Headcanons are where fandom and imagination collide in a glorious explosion of ‘what if?’ and ‘why not?’”—Me, probably.
---
✨ Intro: The Seed of a Headcanon
From the moment I saw Yamcha stalking travelers in the blazing sands of the Diablo Desert, I felt something click. That shade of brown on his skin in *Path to Power* wasn’t just a sun-kissed tan to my younger self—it signaled an origin story begging to be told. Over years of re-watching, sketching, and daydreaming, I wove together a personal narrative: Yamcha as a bridge between two rich heritages—half Chinese, half Navajo.
This isn’t an activist manifesto, nor a declaration of *official* Dragon Ball lore. Instead, it’s my playful framework, marrying childhood nostalgia with cultural textures that resonate deeply with me.
---
🌄 Chapter One: Roots in the Middle Kingdom
* **Name & Nuance**: “Yamcha” literally means “drink tea” in Cantonese—a nod to Chinese culinary tradition. In a universe peppered with puns (Capsule Corp’s Bulma = “bloomers,” Master Roshi’s “turtle hermit” vibe), this feels *deliberate*, almost an invitation to see Yamcha as part of the East Asian mosaic.
* **Martial Arts & Mythos**: His Wolf Fang Fist, martial discipline, and wandering ronin-esque trajectory echo wuxia archetypes: lone warriors treading shifting sands, balancing honor and survival.
* **Philosophical Threads**: Beneath the bravado, I imagine him steeped in Daoist ideas—embracing yin and yang, seeking harmony in chaos. His early posture of “take what I need and vanish” mirrors the hermit sage drifting between worlds.
---
🦂 Chapter Two: Desert Winds & Diné Dreams
* **Visual Catalyst**: That scene in *Path to Power*, with Yamcha’s deep russet complexion under the midday sun, sparked my “not just a tan” theory. To me, his hue wasn’t transient—it was ancestral.
* **Why Navajo?**
* **Landscape Parallels**: The Diablo Desert’s ochre dunes & spiky cacti felt uncannily like Monument Valley vistas.
* **Wolf Symbolism**: The Diné’s bond with wolves as clan guardians resonates perfectly with Yamcha’s signature technique.
* **Survival Skills**: His desert-hardened resourcefulness—the ability to find water, set traps, read the wind—mirrors traditional Navajo teachings about living in harmony with a harsh environment.
* **Spiritual Undercurrents**: I picture him whispering traditional chants under the moon, seeking guidance from ancestral spirits, balancing his chi with the rhythms of the land.
---
🤝 Chapter Three: Collision of Cultures & Identity Crises
Being biracial in Yamcha’s world would add layers of tension and yearning:
1. **Dual Allegiances**: Torn between the stoic discipline of Chinese martial lineage and the ceremonial wisdom of Navajo elders.
2. **Outsider Syndrome**: Neither fully embraced by the desert clans nor by urban martial academies, he becomes the eternal drifter—trusted by few, admired by fewer.
3. **Fear of Connection**: His infamous stage‐fright around women? A manifestation of cultural dissonance: unspoken etiquette from two worlds, colliding and silencing him.
---
🔍 Chapter Four: Plot Holes & Self-Roast
* **No “Real” Earth**: We’re on *Dragon Ball* Earth—no USA or China flags here. So my headcanon exists in a delightful vacuum.
* **Maybe It’s Just a Tan**: I get it. But childhood logic is ruthlessly literal: if his skin looked darker, it *was* darker.
* **Canon vs. Creativity**: I’m aware that blending real-world cultures into Toriyama’s playground can feel clumsy. Yet, headcanons thrive on charming imperfections.
* **Yamcha’s True Heritage?** Could be entirely Japanese..who knows
---
🎉 Outro: Salvation for the Underdog
Yamcha never married the girl he was so much in love with, never landed the knockout punch, and became the punchline for decades of memes. In my fan-crafted universe, he’s more than a desert bandit—he’s a man woven from two proud legacies, seeking belonging. Half Chinese warrior-poet, half Diné wolf-spirit, fully underappreciated.
So here’s to Yamcha, the scrappy nomad with a heritage as blended as his fighting style—still chasing Dragon Balls, still chasing acceptance, and forever proof that headcanons are where the heart meets the horizon.

Autism’s missing women (Gina Rippon, Aeon, April 1 2025)
"Are autistic females really different?
The most startling answer concerns the very nature of autism, supposedly signalled by intentional social avoidance and elective isolation.
Once there was a closer look at females on the spectrum, a core aspect of their social behaviour was found to be, conversely, an intense focus on finding ways to ensure social contact with others, of obsessively trying to find ways to fit in, to belong.
Part of this was a powerful fear of being spotted as different, resulting in a lifelong pattern of exhaustive and exhausting attempts at camouflage, of devising ways to blend in, of ‘putting on their best normal’.
This drive might entail closely watching facial expressions or gestures, mimicking styles of speech, or even generating scripts by listening to others’ verbal social exchanges and repetitively rehearsing them in secret. (…)
Their painful struggles might be disguised by creating many different identities or masks that they could hide behind, masks that they hoped would allow them to join the gang, to be accepted as part of a social group.
The camouflager might come across as extremely shy or quiet, never putting themselves forward, the girl in the corner, quietly tucking herself away from view.
The masquerader, on the other hand, might come across as an extravert, or the performer. (…)
Sadly, these undercover activities did not lead to a happy and successful life, filled with contented membership of multiple social groups.
Once clinicians and researchers started to pay attention, they found that camouflaging behaviour was linked to high levels of depression and anxiety, suicidal ideation and self-harm.
Personal testimonies describe years of mental health crises, associated with multiple misdiagnoses, inappropriate treatment and medication, an ‘alphabet soup of diagnoses’, until the pieces fell into place and an autism assessment was finally suggested. (…)
This raises the idea that autistic women have been missed not because they generally show milder versions of the fundamental signs of autism, as found in males, or because they are better at hiding such signs, but because their autism presents in a different way.
Far from avoiding social interaction, it appears they are powerfully driven to seek it.
However, in common with the traditional view of autism, they appear to lack the necessary skill-set to successfully achieve such interaction. They have the motivation, but not the means.
Perhaps a different type of autism, but autism nonetheless.
Here, there is a powerful drive for social contact, so strong that elaborate (and ultimately damaging) camouflaging schema are developed to disguise any clues that these masqueraders might not fit into the social groups they seek to join.
Such camouflaging behaviour makes the underlying struggles harder to spot, but they are there, and the clinical guidelines and diagnostic definitions need to be revised to reflect this."

Neji: The Burden of Being Called a Genius.
Tumblr media
Neji Hyuga, a name synonymous with innate talent. With a Byakugan that sees almost everything and impeccable mastery of the Jūken, his keen intellect and limitless potential dazzle from his earliest years at the academy. But behind that precocious genius facade lies a heart marked by injustice and a belief in a predetermined destiny. A prodigy destined for greatness within the renowned Hyuga clan. But for Neji, being called a "genius" isn't just a title, but a burden imposed by a seemingly immutable fate. What does it mean to carry the weight of genius while also feeling trapped by circumstances?
Being labeled a "genius" carries a series of psychological and social consequences. They often face very high expectations, both from themselves and from others. This can generate anxiety and fear of failure. Likewise, the need to maintain a level of excellence can lead to extreme self-demand, affecting mental health.
Furthermore, the self-perception of being different or superior can make it difficult to connect with others, leading to isolation and generating feelings of loneliness and alienation.
Geniuses live with a very present fear of mediocrity. The fear of not living up to the image imposed on them can lead to identity crises, and the constant need to prove their talent can lead to physical and emotional exhaustion.
Outstanding Abilities: Neji is recognized as a prodigy by everyone in the village due to his abilities, even getting Hiashi to recognize him as the most talented of his clan. This caused him to develop an enormous level of self-demand with himself and with others, which shaped his personality, making him seem rigid and inflexible with his decisions, leading him to extreme attitudes such as training exhaustively or sacrificing himself for his companions in missions as is the case of the battle against Kidomarou.
Tumblr media
Family Pressure: As a member of the Hyuga clan, he feels pressure to prove his worth, especially in an environment where status and skills are highly valued. In his case, being from the secondary branch, he felt he had to work twice as hard to master all the techniques he was forbidden to learn because in this way he would demonstrate that despite the circumstances, he could excel due to his own merits and talent. Hence, he had so much pent-up anger towards the main branch, which he specifically externalized towards his cousin when he saw that she, despite belonging to the main branch, showed no signs of wanting to excel as a ninja or exalt her clan. This infuriated him because in his mind, the fact that she had been born into the main branch already endowed her with all the privileges while he had to suffer the burden of living eternally in slavery. However, he did not know everything that Hinata suffered from being mistreated by her father, who considered her insufficient and unworthy of being the heir of the clan.
Tumblr media
Internal Conflicts: His inner struggle with the idea of being a "genius" leads him to reject or belittle anyone who doesn't share his abilities, such as when he mocks Lee's desire to prove that one can be a ninja despite being unable to perform ninjutsu. This is what he strives to demonstrate throughout the first part, but we later understand that his true feelings are much more complex. He doesn't perceive himself as a genius; on the contrary, he actually feels like a failure, that his destiny has marked him out for a life of servitude, and that he will never achieve the greatness that others, due to fate, are already guaranteed. We can see this in the battle against Kidomarou when he says:
"I was always known as a genius so I cannot lose. Especially for the sake of those who believed I was a genius being my weak and powerless self."
His definition of himself is distorted; he fails to see that his value as a person goes beyond his abilities. This leads him to experience an identity crisis as the series progresses.
