We translate the Osaka accent as American Southern. Is there another regional Japanese accent that would fit with Cockney?

I'm absolutely losing my mind seeing "We need to not treat men and masculinity as inherently evil and worthy of hatred, and not fall back into biological and gender essentialism because that hurts everyone, including trans women" being misinterpreted as "Women need to stop oppressing men", "I think trans women are actually men" or "You specifically who have trauma around men need to get over it because men are the real victims". It's so willfully disingenuous. It makes me sick how willing people are to read in bad faith, especially how willing other trans women are to suddenly start harassing and dogpiling another trans woman.
I am a trans woman too, I understand what it's like to feel unsafe, but it helps no one this cynical attitude that crops up every time someone suggests being kind to men in our lives. "You could save a man you know from falling down the alt-right pipeline" is not the same as "It's your fault that men murder you". "There are people who could be on our side if we don't meet them with immediate hostility" is not the same as "You need to shut up and stop criticizing power structures for the sake of your oppressors' feelings" (I promise there are a lot of people who can be taught about their complicity in oppression without immediately shutting down but you need to work with them). This kind of attitude isn't somehow more informed or correct. It's just lashing out to avoid considering one's own agency.
Making a better, safer world for ourselves requires all kinds of work, but it's always work. It's hard to try to reach out to people who could very realistically harm us, it's work that not all of us can afford to or are able to do and that's fine because we're all just trying to survive. But some of you would rather condescend, tear each other down, and make more enemies before even considering it a possibility.

Please stop forgetting nonbinary people!
Theyfab isn't a transmasc-specific slur. It's always been used against any nonbinary person assumed to be AFAB.
Though the AGAB of nonbinary people is nobody's business in the first place, it bears repeating that not every AFAB nonbinary person is transmasculine, just as not every AMAB nonbinary person is transfeminine.
These bigots aren't just transphobic towards trans men/mascs, they're exorsexist as well. We'll be stronger if we stick up for each other and push back against them together!
Edit: Just to make it clear, theyfab is being used against transmascs as well! I just want people to also acknowledge the non-transmasc nonbinary people being hurt.

Diomedes really cranked the "simp-o-meter for Odysseus" from 0 to 12 in approximately 0.6 seconds in book 10 (choose ur spy buddy) and im snort-laughing.
Partially because of how Unnecessarily Extra Diomedes is.
And then even more so because of how Extremely Done Odysseus is in his reply (every time he uses the "long-suffering Odysseus" epithet i fucking DIE laughing. I can FEEL the -_-)
But also, because I feel like the opposite is more typical (Odysseus having the flowery flattering speeches and Diomedes just, like, "read at 2pm"-ing him in return):
I am choosing to headcanon that Dio is very subtly/very gently teasing/mocking Odysseus. And that Ody has done the "oh i pick Diomedes the incredible, the unmatchable, unwinnable force of the gods' will!!!" thing to him recently and Dio is now just throwing it back at him in a "do u hear what u sound like when u talk???" Kind of way.
Which is why Ody is peak "i am Unamused by this, diomedes" in the scene. Because he knows he's being gently roasted in a way the others likely won't pick up on/which is Just For Him.
And i think that's beautiful

head up if you don’t want tumblrs partnered ai companies automatically scraping your blog for image datasets, you need to manually opt out.
You can’t do this in the app rn (apparently you can but I couldn’t find it so you might have to update), only the desktop version or web browser on your phone. It will also need to be done for every sideblog you have.
You find it by opening up your blog settings > scroll down to visibility > prevent third party sharing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As an aside, I’d thoroughly recommend opting out of having your blog scraped, even if you’re not an artist. Afaik Tumblr hasn’t explicitly stated which companies they’ll be partnering with, but the vagueness of that wording is really alarming.
These datasets use a lot of selfies for photorealistic results, moderation of who has access to these datasets is notoriously ass, and a lot of AI engines are being used to generate pornography and racist imagery (you can see this rn with the rise of ai generated propaganda). While ‘your likeness is used in an awful generated image without your consent’ IS a worst case scenario, it’s a really upsetting one. Protect yourselves.

"If we get rid of AGAB language how do we define being trans?"
By being trans, by going against how society sees you. Because guess what, not every trans person is going to transition, not every trans person fully removes themself from their "AGAB", not every trans person sees their transition as going from one side to the other.
Transgender is just a made up word just like every other word. It's a label you're supposed to use to help describe your experience, not another way to force others to conform.
Besides, AGAB language is completely useless when it is incredibly flawed. It just tells you what letter they put on your birth certificate and that is determined by your primary, secondary and beyond sexual characteristics. Guess what, not everybody's sexual characteristics fit, not everybody's "AGAB" fits them at all. Why? Because it's a pointless binary category based off of small minded individuals who think nature draws in straight lines and has a very simplified version of reality in this minds.
Also stop ignoring Intersex folks just because we don't fit your narrative and we're making you confront your own intersexism.

just gonna say my peace and then spam reblog some more posts but
when Remmick talks about the “Our Father” and how he was forced to learn it from the people who stole their lands. that can still mean he was Catholic despite being about 600 years old in Ireland where Catholicism was running rampant, but it just means he was Irish Catholic. yeah, 600 years is not far enough for there to be an Ireland where Catholicism was not the majority religion, but you know what wasn’t something many Irish from 600 years ago (until 1930s) did???
spoke English
so it is very likely Remmick was not talking about the religion itself but rather being forced to lose his mother tongue by the English invading and colonizing Irish lands. forcing the stop of speaking Irish also had two major goals 1) control over the people and the property and the laws and 2) “unity” through one kingdom, one empire, yada yada— VERY reminiscent of the themes presented in the movie
just something to think about

still kind of baffling that "highly defensive of the use of tme/tma" and "thinks discrimination is based primarily on identity, a thing that exists materially... somehow" is such a common combination
i realize it's not how they get used that often (mostly because people tend to just use the New, More Woke terms for the exact same things instead of considering why new terminology might be useful in the first place...)
but i really do feel like using a term like "transmisogyny affected" and basing it on "how do you think of yourself" or "what's your ~true inherent identity~" and not
y'know
"are you significantly affected by transmisogyny"
kind of wild

“My Mom” would only make sense in a family situation with stepmothers.
“Our Mom” would be used to compare her to other moms.
If someone used either in conversation with their siblings otherwise, I would assume English was their second language.

Heard from a friend who talked to someone who played DE in Chinese, and this person maintained that "Harry [had] a daughter that died of illness. and that being the reason his and his ex-wife's marriage broke down."
People who are familiar with the Chinese loc: is it in any way plausible that the guy got that info from there?

It is truly just so fucking telling when someone in the Teen Wolf fandom decides to make a post clutching their pearls about evil age gap ships and only ever brings up queer non-canon ships.
Let me be clear: I would not condone Parrish/Lydia shippers getting harassed, this isn't a "they should get shit too!!" take. Nobody should be harassed over the silly little fiction they enjoy.
But it stands out so glaringly obvious when this fandom routinely loses their mind about people shipping Stiles with Derek, while Parrish and Lydia were literally canon and nobody batted an eyelash, it never gets brought up in the posts about how morally wrong age-gap ships are. When discussing "harmful" ships in this fandom, it's always the gay non-canon ships that get demonized.
The age-gap between Parrish and Lydia is the exact same as between Stiles and Derek.
There is exactly two differences between these ships. One of them is a queer ship, the other is a straight ship. And one of them is a fanon ship that you literally never have to interact with if you would just learn to block tags and not seek out content you hate, while the other is one that was ""condoned"" by the writers by making it canon and thus unavoidable to the people interacting with the show.
But strangely, it's only one of these that gets brought up all the fucking time as being "illegal" and "morally wrong". And even stranger still, it is never the canon one that is aired to a broad audience of innocent watchers who would have no way to avoid this vile, evil ship dynamic.
Don't get me wrong, the "moral" approach to shipping and the stupid pearl-clutching is always ridiculous and always wrong, but when the hypocrisy of it is so blatant, it is somehow even more ridiculous because it makes you just look homophobic. After all, you have no problem with the straight ship, it's only the queer ship that's "problematic" and that... just looks like you find the queer of it problematic, since you clearly don't have an issue with age-gaps in general, only with queer age-gaps. Only with queer ships.
That aside, this show aired over a decade ago!! Get over it! They're fictional characters. There is nothing morally wrong about fiction, it doesn't harm anyone because it is fiction. How have you not learned to block tags yet, how have you not learned to focus on the things that spark joy instead of the things you hate, how are you still getting on everyone's nerves with your decade-old homophobic takes on shipping, dressed up in new modern purity cult language?

Once u learn to be critical of rhetoric that relies on associating [supposed bad thing] with some form of psychological and/or neurological "damage", u really notice just how prevalent it is on here. Everyone you don't like is delusional, they're insane, they have brain damage, they need to Check The Carbon Monoxide Detectors, they need to Get Help and Go To Therapy, [form of media and/or communication] is literally brain poison, they've had their attention spans destroyed, they're "small brain" or "smooth brain" or "brain dead" or whatever. So many people on here remain seemingly incapable of criticizing someone's actions or views without needing to insinuate that the "problem" is neurological, "in the brain", unchangeable, fundamental. I should not have to explain why it is insensitive, nonconstructive, and oftentimes straight-up ableist to tell someone that they must have "brain damage" because you got into an argument with them online.
