Jason was known for being able to remain calm and collected.

It was a quality of his that many considered to be positive. When things got stressful and intense, he could remain calm, look at things logically, and devise a plan. No matter what life threw at him, he didn’t crack under pressure or let fear take over.

So, if that was true, why was he pacing just outside the entrance of their makeshift camp, looking like a nervous dog while his heart thumped away loudly in his chest?

It all started with their quest. Jason was assigned a quest with specific members: himself, Piper, Leo, Percy, and Will. The end goal of the quest wasn’t important to him right now. What was important was that Leo had gone on his own to diffuse a bomb.

When Leo first pitched his plan, Jason obviously objected. He already lost Leo once to an explosion, he wasn’t about to go through it again.

Leo had rolled his eyes and said he was the best option. After all, he was fireproof and understood machinery and traps. Also, they needed to diffuse the bomb within the next 24 hours, or the item they needed for the quest would be destroyed.

They went back and forth until Jason ran out of good points to argue. He then suggested he could go with Leo, which Leo refused. Leo wanted them to be a good distance away in case the bomb went off. Also, Jason would only end up being a distraction. Jason didn’t have any good arguments after that.

It wasn’t like Jason didn’t trust or believe in Leo. On the contrary, he believed in him more than he believed in himself. He had full confidence that Leo could not only do this but do it without breaking a sweat.

What worried him was the unknown. What if Leo ran into a monster? What if it was a trap? What if he got stuck? What if he needed help? What if he got hurt? Those were the worries that flooded his mind.

“Jason, he’s going to be okay,” Piper said, trying to soothe him.

Piper and Percy got tired of seeing him pace outside the camp. They stood at the entrance of the camp, Piper looking sympathetic and Percy looking tired. Jason could understand why. At this point, he was tired of all the quests too. Percy should look into retirement. He wondered if the gods offered that to mortals. They really should, especially if the demigod in question has already saved the world more than once.

“What if something happens?” Jason asked, turning to face her, his back to the woods.

“Nothing is going to happen.”

“You don’t know that!” Jason insisted.

“He’s tougher than he looks,” Percy commented, his arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the tree that marked the entrance to their camp.

Jason sighed heavily. “I know that. I’ve been on quests with him before. You don’t think I know that? He’s saved my life more times than I can count. However, he’s still not a fighter. Something could happen. He could get hurt. He could be in trouble. What if he needs up and I’m not there to save him?”

“I’m sure he’ll be fine,” Piper said, trying to soothe him again. “He’ll be back in one piece, comment about how easy it is, and tease you for worrying so much.”

Percy’s eyes darted from the woods to Jason. “Uh… Jason.”

Jason ignored him. He let out a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair. “I know, I know. I just… I can’t stop worrying about him. If something happens to him, I’ll never be able to forgive myself for letting him go out alone.”

Piper frowned. She tilted her head as she crossed her arms over her chest. “What’s gotten into you? You weren’t this worried last time we went on a quest together. Well, you would worry about him but you weren’t… this level of worried.”

“Jason,” Percy spoke up again, with more urgency in his voice. There was a tone in it Jason couldn’t recognize. He waved Percy off.

“Things… have changed between now and then,” Jason muttered, trying to dance around the reason.

“Bullshit,” Piper retaliated. “Things have changed, but not enough for this extreme of a reaction. I’d feel more comfortable with this Leo going off on his own than that fifteen-year-old boy that we used to know. He’s had more training, is more confident in himself, and has all sorts of weird inventions he can test out on monsters. What gives?”

“It’s just… it’s different.”

“How? How is it different?”

“Jason!” Percy piped in once again.

“Shut up, Percy!” Jason snapped, glancing at Percy before turning his gaze back to Piper. “Fine! You want to know how it’s different? It’s because I’m in love with him! I love him so much that the thought of him getting hurt crushes me. I know he can keep himself safe, but my heart wants me to be his knight in shining armor. I want to be there to swoop in and save him when danger comes his way. I already lost him once, I can’t lose him again! I’d never forgive myself if I lost him and never got to tell him how much I loved him.”

“You love me?” A soft, familiar voice behind Jason asked.

Jason whipped around to see Leo. He was leaning against a tree, his right hand reaching across his abdomen, holding his left side. He looked tired but he was staring fixedly at Jason with his widened eyes.

Jason rushed to him in an instant, ignoring what Percy and Piper were saying behind him.

“I tried to warn him…” Percy muttered.

“It’s probably better this way,” Piper replied.

“Leo! Are you okay?” Jason asked, grabbing his shoulders. “Did you-”

“You love me?” Leo asked, cutting off his words, his question firmer than it had been.

Jason could lie. He wasn’t sure how much Leo heard, but he could lie. Well, Leo likely heard a large majority of it if Percy’s attempts to get his attention were anything to go by. He could lie… but he didn’t. Something told him that he shouldn’t. Also… he couldn’t lie to Leo, not when he was looking at him like that.

“Yes,” Jason replied, voice soft, “I do. I love you.”

Leo stared at him momentarily before gripping the collar of his shirt, leaning up, and kissing him.

Jason’s brain came to a screeching halt, almost being unable to process the fact that Leo Valdez was kissing him. He blinked in shock before his brain caught up with him and yelled at him, telling him to kiss his crush back and not just stand there like an idiot. Jason did just that. He kissed Leo back, his eyes fluttering shut.

The kiss was amazing, warm, and made his heart pound in his chest. He didn’t care if it was inexperienced and a little messy. It was with Leo, and that made it the best kiss he ever had.

All too soon, Leo pulled away from the kiss. As Jason opened his eyes, before he could even make a romantic comment or lean in to kiss him again, Leo let out a whimper of pain and slumped against him.

Jason looked down and noticed the red stain on Leo’s shirt from the side he’d been holding. Blood. He was bleeding.

“Leo!” Jason scolded. He pulled Leo close, threw his arm around his shoulder, and dragged him back to their camp. “You should’ve said you were injured and went to Will right away!”

“Kinda hard to remember your injury when your crush suddenly confessed his love for you,” Leo muttered with a huff.

Jason blushed but continued to drag Leo into camp and over to where Will set up his makeshift infirmary. Will sighed as Jason plopped Leo down right in front of him.

Will turned his attention to his bag, getting out what he’d need. Then, he looked at Leo, settled down beside him, pulled up his shirt, and got to work patching him up. Jason hesitated before sitting down next to Leo.

Leo sighed dramatically as he leaned against Jason, resting his head on his shoulder. He was silent for a few beats before his gaze flicked up to Jason. “I love you too, by the way.”

“I would hope so. I would hope you don’t make a habit of kissing boys who confess to having feelings for you as you’re bleeding out.”

Leo laughed softly. “I don’t. You’ve always been my expedition.”

Will looked up at them. “Can you two stop flirting while I’m trying to work?”

Leo stuck his tongue out at him. “Don’t be bitter just because your boyfriend isn’t here.”

Will shook his head and went back to work.

Jason ran his knuckles up and down Leo’s back. “How did the bomb defusal go?”

“Easy as cake. No challenge for me because I’m the best ever.”

“You really are,” Jason earnestly replied.

Leo blinked up at him before flushing and averting his gaze. He was about to reply before he jumped and hissed in pain as Will touched a sensitive spot.

“Sorry. My bad,” Will dryly said.

Leo’s gaze shot over to him. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?!”

“What? I would never.”

As Leo began to bicker with their medic, Jason laughed softly. He pressed a kiss to the top of Leo’s head.

Quests seemed to always have moments you never expect. Some good, some bad, and some life-changing. He was glad this life-changing moment was a good one.

found a blink-and-you-miss-it Donnie-actually-doesn't-mind-being-teased moment

OK so I was rewatching the Rise of the TMNT series with my brother and I noticed a little animation something in episode 21 Man VS Sewer.

So recap just in case (I'm sure y'all know the episode) the gang is going swimming and Raph has just revealed his giant rubber floaty, making Donnie is suspicious and concerned. Rightfully so, because Raph is actually using one of HIS tires from the turtle tank. Raph lies saying he actually got it from Splinter (looks like being bad at lying runs in the family) and Donnie starts to sarcastically point out how absurd that is, because Splinter only owns robes-

Leo then throws a floaty over Donnie's head and interrupts him before he can finish the thought. I'm headcanoning that he either was tired of listening to his brothers bicker or he was intelligently seizing an opportunity to intervene and save Raph, and by extension everyone, from a vacay ruined by an angry hyper-fixated soft shell.

Interrupted? Thrown into the water against his will? Raph is lying about his floaty? Mikey said it looked like the turtle tank tire?! You can bet he's upset! Just look at that grumpy little face!

But nobody else seems to care anymore. They breeze on past him, enjoying the sewer river and their day off, Leo relaxing like a super model, Raph and Mikey cheering and laughing... It doesn't even matter anymore.

Up bup bup! But Donnie is still upset, right? NOPE. There is a split second, nay, less than that, of animation where Mikey grabs onto Donnie's floaty and drags him forward with the current. It's used as a transition shot. But in that brief moment, when his other brothers are looking away and he's allowing himself to be pulled by Mikey, he smiles fondly. Just a little bit.

It's so brief, so quick, but REALLY TELLING about how he feels when being teased. Well, it wasn't necessarily teasing per se, but you get the idea. It's like, despite himself and his frustrations, he can't stop himself from getting caught up in their happiness. He's let it go for now- make no mistake there will be an investigation and questionnaire in the future- but... that can wait. He's having a great time with his family and that's all that matters right now.

Maybe he was just smiling at Mikey, idk. But when I came across it I felt like I got confirmation for stuff I had been theorizing about how his character works and I just... it's nice to have that confirmation and to feel like I understand him better. It's SO amazing how well the artists understood the assignment.

Am I reading too much into this? DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS AND I WAS JUST BLIND THE FIRST TIME AROUND???

Spa Day.....In the Lair?

Who says the mate of a ninja hero shouldn't treat her man to a nice, well deserved spa day? Lets get these fellas cleaned up, shall we?

After weeks of begging Alopex, getting Splinter's approval, Charlie and Kenzi being carried around the lair by Leonardo's legs, Dinah knocking Raph's stuff over, Mikey being more annoying, April assisting Charlie with giving Leonardo and Raphael puppy dog eyes, Kenzi using her charm and sex appeal to get Donnie to cave, and empty threats, it's been decided a spa day was in order.

Alopex and Dinah made some calls, while Charlie and Kenzi cleaned up and rearranged the lair. April suggested the turtles watch some videos and do some research regarding certain treatments for them. So they get a feel of what they want, what they're comfortable with, and how much they'll tolerate. Each of them being pressed to take thorough showers before the workers came.

Of course, Leonardo had every reason in the book to be apprehensive. Yes, they saved the world, but they still had to maintain boundaries between them and the humans walking above their heads. Alopex understood this, also being apprehensive due to respecting the guys territory. Yet, her sisters raised a good point treating them after all they've done. She made it a point to put all expenses on Charlie and Dinah's accounts. They shrugged, not caring because they're set for life financially.

Before they knew it, the lair had been set up like a salon. The guys were in body wraps, soaking their feet, getting a thorough scrub of their shells. The girls were mindful to inform the workers to use a special turtle shell formula to scrub and condition them with, to which seemed to be working due to the guys constant groaning and churring. Candles were lit, they were all seated comfortably, enjoying good old fashioned pampering. Mikey did the face mask but his brothers respectfully declined. The girls got the works: manicures, pedicures, facials, all cozy in feathery plush chairs. Splinter was tended to very respectfully by 3 masseuses, one of them who happens to love rats.

"Gotta say, this is pretty nice!" Donnie admits, taking slow breaths as he gets his shell cleaned.

"Yeah, I don't hate this." Raph grunts after a very well needed press on his bicep. The girls sat across from the turtles, happy they were able to treat them.

"We should do this more often." Mikey chuckles, as the female worker massages his scalp.

"There has to be a way to repay you. This is going over the line!" Leo says to Alopex, churring as he feels his muscles relax from the body wraps.

"Please don't. If anything, we want to do more. Enjoy it. Its not often this comes around, is it?" Charlie chimes, then they heard the sound of girls giggling in Splinter's quarters.

Splinter was getting claws tended to, fur washed and brushed, even his tail was cleaned! He didn't do the facial, he settled with the cucumbers over the eyes. He was in a better version nirvana. And the females working with him were enjoying it. A little too much.

It was a great time as they all conversed, the girls facials kinda creeped the guys out. It made it funnier when Mikey kept eating his. Charlie and April making it more entertaining throwing their cucumbers into Mikey's mouth. Alopex rolled her eyes and let it go, they had enough paper to afford it anyway. After getting scrubbed and their shells covered with towels and the girls were snuggled in the plushy chairs, is when the questions started rolling in.

"So how exactly do you know each other?" A female worker asked, massaging Mikey's shoulders.

"Whats your workout routine, handsome?" A female worker asked Raph, Alopex growling under her breath.

"Well, I uh, I lift weights all week long and do some sparring with the guys." He says, feeling the worker trace her nails on his scales.

"You're all pretty strong. Haven't been around this many biceps before. Is it gettin' hot in here or what?" A female worker tending to Leonardo chimes in, checking Leonardo's wraps.

April didn't need to look at the girls to see how territorial they're acting. Clearly, Alopex left out the whole 'these guys are basically our husbands, so hands off' bit. Kenzi nudged Alopex's knee.

"Settle down. I got this!" She says, as she stands up, picks up a tray of fruit and walks over to sit on Donnie's lap.

The girls were hooting and awing at Kenzi feeding Donnie grapes as he waited to have his wraps removed and enjoying the feeling of cleanliness on his shell. This was so foreign to all of them. Spa Days? Massages? Special Shell Treatment. Being fed fruit like royalty? It was like they were in another dimension where everyone accepts them. As she fed him slowly, he caught a whiff of something strong and moist. She smirked when he gave her a look. Not only is she claiming him, but she's doing it with no panties on underneath her robe!

Charlie wanted in on the action when the female worker stepped aside for a brief moment. She took a very plump strawberry off the tray, placed it in her mouth, coaxing Mikey to take a bite. Which he did, indeed. The girls and his brothers watched the lovesick puppies basically making out in front of the workers. April had front row seats to all the drama, the turtles needed some TLC.

Dinah had a magazine whispering girl talk with April, both looking at Leonardo, snickering. He rolled his eyes at the girls chatting. Donnie warned them all about getting involved with girl talk, so he closed his eyes and relaxed.

Time flew by, a lot of dumb questions from the workers, and the female masseuses taking their time with Splinter. Things were very peaceful. April couldn't help but be pleased with the outcome.

The wraps were removed, their shells and scales given a thorough deep tissue rub down, feet dried, the turtles felt rejuvenated. As if they've gotten stronger, more balanced. As they breathed a sigh of relief, they watched the girls wash off their facials, fluffing out their dreads and braids creating a fuller look. The guys almost dropped in their shorts, seeing how smooth the girl's skins are.

The girls working with Splinter finally emerged from his quarters. Their faces were beet red, grinning from ear to ear, constantly thanking the Muses for allowing them to work with Splinter. Explaining how much of a privilege it was to tend to his needs at his age. Before the workers left, at least one of them slipped Mikey her phone number. Charlie caught this and was livid.

"No she didn't!" She whispered, warping into her fox form with the intent on attacking the girl making passes at her man. Alopex saw what happened, grabbing Charlie by the tail preventing her from going crazy. The guys watched as Charlie gave Alopex a death glare.

"Calm Down! She ain't worth it. Plus, I'm sure Mikey knows better than that." She turns to Mikey,"Right, Michaelangelo?"

"Yeah, sis. I'm with Charlie. I'm a one woman turtle." He says, raising his hands up.

While April, Mikey, and Alopex calmed Charlie down, Kenzi volunteered to walk the workers out when Donatello stopped her. "Wait a minute. Is it wise to let them go just like that?" He asked. "I mean, they know what we are, where we are, what we do. Won't they.....?" Kenzi snaked her cheetah tail over his lip.

"Shhhh. I got this, Baby. Don't worry." She says, pulling out a device Donnie immediately recognized. He kissed her cheek before she went to the workers seeing them out.

"Man, I feel pretty good! Like I can take this whole city by storm!" Raph grunts, flexing his muscles.

"This is different. I feel my brain cells enhancing from that deep massage. I liked it!" Donnie adds, rolling his neck.

"Yeah, we should do this again!" Mikey quips.

Kenzi thanked the workers, immediately paying them heavily electronically, adding an extra tip for being kind to the turtles. Upon exiting the lair, she followed them, stood before them,"Before you go, can I get a picture? It's for the guys photo album." She hated lying but needed use something. They all agreed.

Kenzi pointed the device at them, pressing the button, flashing them all. They all looked at each other, confused to why they were in an alley way.

"You all were just on your way to your next appointment. A very interesting client. Your vehicles around the corner. Best to make haste!" She carried on, waving them good bye as they gathered their equipment and left.

She went back to the lair with a Cheshire grin stamped on her face. Donnie knew that face too well.

"You really are slick. You've impressed me yet again, My Love!" He says, tickling her chin.

"This was all you, sweety. I prefer to give credit where credit is due." She says, curling her tail.

Kenzi explained to Leonardo that the device she used whipped the workers memory of them away. Taking them back to 10 minutes before they arrived. Leonardo thanked her, which she immediately pushed on Donnie.

"We both did it, Sweety." Donnie coos, kissing her hand.

Splinter quietly made an appearance, showing to have reached a sense of tranquility from his pampering. His fur slick backed, clean cut, very well groomed. Everyone looked upon him, noticing a very suggestive smirk on his face.

Dinah and Mikey recalled the female's blushed cheeks from working with him. They all looked at each other with amazement as Splinter tended to his bonsai trees, humming.

"What kind of massage did he get? I wonder." Leo asked. Using their sense of smell, it was clear as the tails on the girl's butts and the shells on the guys backs. They grinned and kept their mouths shut. Except Mikey.

"Whoa. Sensei got mad game!" He chimed, earning scoffs and eyes rolls from everyone.

"Indeed, I do!" Splinter says, wracking Mikey up side the head with his tail.

I wanted to talk about qJaiden and qFoolish's trust and friendship with each other because it means so much to me!!!!

So, initially, when they first started to make a real connection, Jaiden was in a middle of a heavy conflict. She was getting... persecuted, for a lack of better words. She was the first who got tasks from the Federation (aside from Cellbit), she became suspicious to everyone for unfortunate coincidences, and everyone started to become wary of her when she all she wanted to do was protect all the eggs and be alone while she mourned her son.

But then, Foolish came into the picture. He didn't treat her differently, his opinion on Cucurucho was basically the same as hers, and he was never judgemental of her getting and doing Federation tasks. He was the second person she ever showed the Bobby Fields willingly (with Leo), and she explained everything; why she built her home so far away, why there was a room filled with paintings, why there's a tree house, why she placed the chairs like that and she was so surprised when he said he liked the room dedicated to Bobby. And, after all that, as they sat on the tree house waiting for the sunset, with Foolish refusing to sit on any of the chairs because he knew who they were for, all he asked was "Doesn't it make you sad?" she said no and he said "Well, now I'm sad."

Then, when things finally calmed down and Jaiden was no longer suspicious to everyone, it was Foolish who got himself into a situation. A situation that Jaiden understands very well. He was basically isolated, he was singled out of the group. She knew how it felt and she made sure to be there for him. To defend him just as he defended her.

Jaiden didn't want any conflict between her loved ones, so she tried to play all sides by helping Cellbit get information but being truthful to Foolish as well. But Foolish lied to her because he knew what she was up to. Despite all that, in the end, they both admitted to each other what they did. And I think that's where their trust in each other became what it is now.

They became each other's safe place. Jaiden swore her silence to Foolish, and Foolish already did that the moment he kept his silence about the Bobby Fields.

Foolish took Jaiden with him when the Federation assigned him as detective, it was his choice whether or not he should let her in the know, and he didn't even hesitate. He put his full trust in Jaiden that moment. And after that, he kept telling Jaiden everything he knew when people used to keep things from her a LOT. And Jaiden, in turn, told him everything she knew.

And now, Jaiden's the one with a huge secret. Something she swore she would never tell anyone. But she chose to tell Foolish without prompt anyway. Because he trusted in her first. He's her confidant as she is his. She knows he won't judge her. She knows his image of her will never change. She knows he will stand by her no matter what happens because he understood her the way no one else does.

Yes, Roier would never hate her for it, but he's different. The way I see it, Jaiden would never want to put Roier in a situation where he chooses between his family with Cellbit or her. Jaiden knew how much Cellbit hated Cucurucho, if she told Roier about her true connection with the Federation... well, we can only imagine what would happen. And she would never even consider telling Cellbit himself because, well, as I've said, she knew how negative Cellbit sees the Federation and Cucurucho. She cares for them both very much, she would never want them to think ill of her because of what really happened.

With Foolish, she can be honest. Because she knew where he stood and she knew Leo was going to be on her papa's side no matter what too.

Tldr: Jaiden and Foolish are each other's safe places. They are each other's confidants. They know each other's biggest secrets and they are willing to take it to the grave. And I think that's beautiful.

So you know how twins of opposite genders are usually pretty hard to find in mythology?

What if Apollo was born as female, but 1 second in he decided "ew no" and changed into the form he felt most comfortable in? In the beginning, he enjoyed taking more effeminate and androgynous forms (see old statues of him), but then maybe someone made a comment about it and he became self conscious of it and dysphoric, hence the change to performative masculinity (see book decriptions of him, his obsession with having abs, his fashion style).

But then Zeus makes him mortal. And this time around, he decides to toy with him some more.

So he assigns Apollo to an afab body, to truthly torture him mentally and to make every second of his mortality nightmarish.

At first, he tries really hard to pass, because he's terrified of the validity of his gender being questioned. And he succeeds for a while. Maintaining a low voice hurts. And he knows running around, fighting, and even sleeping in a binder 24/7 will wreck his mortal body. He doesn't care. He keeps doing it. He runs behind everyone, he struggles to breathe, he has to deal with horrid pain. But he considers it worth it. He loathes his body. He loathes the extra fat that gives him feminine curves. He wants it all to end. He desperately wishes to get his godly form back as soon as possible.

Eventually, he collapses. His ribs are badly bruised, and he can no longer pretend to be cis. As terrifed as he was of his peers' reactions, most of them don't really care. Meg calls him a dummy, punches him, and proceeds to tackle him in a hug and punch him again. Leo tries to crack a joke to lighten the mood. Calypso reminds Apollo back in their days nobody would have given a crap.

Lester tears up. Weirdly, he feels loved. He feels accepted, he feels understood for the first time in millenia.

If you ever need a friend who has always got your back, a Cancer is the right one for the job! Sometimes instead of acting out, they may become passive aggressive instead and continue harbouring resentment. When a Cancer placement finally feels supported, validated, understood and like they are being nurtured they form an attachment and become a lot more confident, wanting to share themselves with the world. I've got some things to say abt the latest episode of Tell Me Lies, as well as some fans of the show.

Firstly, I just want to say that Stephen IS Shakespeare's Iago.

1) I really hope Bree finds out Lucy was the girl Evan cheated on her with in the future storyline, bc this group of friends needs to just never be together anymore.

2) Oliver was always an opp, from day one, no matter how hot his actor is (and trust I have been both side eyeing and involuntarily gushing at their scenes for a while). "Boys" are the worst at any age; he's a prime example of that but Bree doesn't know that yet. 45x19 is never the move, esp when the older's married.

The reason why Bree keeps telling people abt Oliver is bc she doesn't want to feel guilty or under a moral pressure abt it when she's in the affair to feel like she is desirable/worthy of attention when her friends barely do anything to really know/care for her & she felt her relationship w/Evan didn't have enough reciprocated emotional investment. Which is ironic bc Oliver is certainly not giving that despite how she feels he sorta "picks" her over Marianne by choosing to spend time w/her, validating her feelings abt Evan/her friends. Despite him saying he won't leave his marriage for her.

He's playing a push-pull game to keep her wanting more: the ring, "why wouldn't we?", etc. HE travels to some NE "village" for Thanksgiving with rich white folks and she lives in the dorms. He is still using her, this is and never will be an "equal" relationship.

3) idgaf abt the possibility that Diana is trying to swerve Steven by lashing at Lucy, it will always be an amoral, unnecessary, unethical move when Steven PUBLICLY & VISIBLY in front of both their friends was & HAS BEEN trying to rile Lucy/Leo up.

4) Diana thus 100% deserved that slap, esp when Lucy was the one who put her onto to the Steven-Macy and *she* didn't believe Lucy at first. Lucy is the one who's enabled Diana--IF she is trying to get away from Steven now--to plan in the 1st place, & she goes & does this?

Nah, let's hold Diana accountable for her actions as you (a lot of people) have been holding Lucy accountable for hers! She was a coward bc even if she is doing this to get away from Steven and she is as smart as people say she is, if she is actually pretty good at social manipulation, it's still amoral to tell the victim he was the real problem and invited abuse (a girl younger than Diana [20-22] herself, who also took Steven back when he cheated on her and put her down for months and is currently still doing so), is not the NECESSARY move when we see the same dude publicly try to harass Leo and Lucy in front of the friends who will not check Steven.

5) This is also the same reason why I am annoyed & disappointed w/Pippa even though he was the only one to at least say something abt & TO Steven in the situation. How are you going to stand there, witness Steven try to get Leo to go wild on him not once but TWICE, hear Lucy tell you abt Steven getting to her, hear him say she "embarrassed" herself at that lunch table (Steven had been trying to break them up for ages!), see Lucy stay away from Steve the best she could until not only he but his sister criticize her for being "psycho" (against Steven, not her behavior towards others, Sadie thought Lucy was being "crazy" on Steven),...see Diana wrongly assign all the fault on Lucy...then say you can't "believe" Lucy slapped her?

Not only do we know & you saw Steven be emotionally abusive to Diana (& I am sure she wouldn't say the same if Diana slapped another girl saying that), you slapped Steven yourself?!!! Under the guise of a game, but everyone understood what you did! Leo fist-pumped you for it?! All bc you have a crush on Diana, you're willing to ignore how Diana is literally victim-blaming while she herself "makes it easy" for Steven to hurt her time and time again.

6) And I'm red in rage over the Lucy getting blamed and this idea of victimhood or victimlessness bc it's all abt the principle of the thing: yes there are many women who will sacrifice their dignity for male validation (like Diana, not just Steven but her dad), & Lucy was one of them when she had been dating Steven...but this is the point of the show! MANY women are like Lucy and Diana and Pippa. MOST women have at one point in their prepubescence to dating lives have sold other women/girls out, blamed other girls, to believed or vilified women trying to defend themselves in a sea of men-protectors, etc. bc out world has made it very clear that, for a time, these actions will at least move negative male predation away from them or get them social "favors" for it, or some sort of validation the same society denies young girls and women. Gain back what is lost.

It's still women's jobs to reflect and stop that behavior in ourselves as we grow. At least Future!pool-Lucy is not throwing another girl under the bus as she tries to get back at Steven for his wedding speech, even as she is choosing to react to more of his bullshit at the age of 25-27! We hold Future!Lucy accountable for not taking the opp to protect her own peace...but not Diana when she's actively making Lucy out to be the bad guy in a situation where she definitely wasn't?! Making her out to be the "crazy" ex and weaponizing her slapping her against her for her own needs?

This goes to show that our society/the internet still will approve male violence in any form--even encourage it, with Leo vs Steven (this instance is kinda valid, but you should know what I'm getting at)--before they ever let a woman REFLEXIVELY lose some bit of restraint and react/defend herself.

Past!Lucy was not even horrible to Diana nor Steven before epi 6; she was trying to stay away & live her life w/Leo & the others. Yeah, she's emotionally immature before and after Steven, but:

a) she is actually "worse" AFTER Steven and if he didn't exist or had approached her with all his damn negging, she likely could have done better for herself as she grew in this college environment when, once more, bc Steven was so horrible to her she developed a hyperawareness towards possible psychological threats from intimate partners or other kinds...esp with how her mother tried to make her to be the wrong party, talking abt "your dad would be so upset with you" when she slept with his best friend as he died and way before that! Lucy was kinds set up for more ish bc her mother created the expectations for that.

b) Past! & Future!Steven goes/went out of his way, unprovoked, to make her feel she was always the one doing wrong when he creates most of all his own issues: Macy, inviting the freshmen girls he hunted for in the first place, cheating on Diana, telling his gfs their hormones & periods make them insufferable, manipulating Wrigley AND his brother Iago-style , etc.

Steven is out here literally trying to ruin people's day bc he has never had one himself. How is Lucy mean to be so perfectly composed 100% of the time?!!! No, things will always give, plus she is 19/was 18.

7) Which is why I don't fuck w/Max even though Leo also cites how Lucy uses people's worst things against them (which, again, is her doing reactive mistreatment bc she, form Steven, now reflexively anticipates people using/lying/manipulating her).

Leo at least HAS to stay away from toxicity bc of his own anger issues & abusive past form his dad & his reliance on the only thing that made him relatively safe...ironically, very similar to Lucy. I wish he had clocked both this AND how Lucy is more reacting in the face of having not much support form the peanut gallery, but I get it, it simply isn't their time. I loved them together, and despite him not telling Lucy about his ex cheating w/Steven when he knows she is so triggered and afraid of any scenario like manipulation, saying that its "unimportant" I also think there is a chance that they could have tackled it with how good they were communicating otherwise. How good he was at that aside form this thing.

Max, however, has no background to be telling Lucy to "forget" Steven kiking up with him in the 4th or 5th episode, I forget. Esp when she herself asked him why he is doing said kiking knowing what she told him abt Steven...talking abt "people changed". Also we have seen no real consideration of what I have described all along: that Steven is the issue, and that maybe instead of "forgiving" him and giving him a pass, just suggest she stay away from him and not engage with Steven yourself for her to be able to actually "forget" him, as YOU say!

No, we don't dismiss our partner's upset bc we're upset they haven't "forgiven & forgot"; that in itself is not very "mature".

And no, I don't think that her FUTURE/present!pool-move licenses Past!Steven, present/future!Max, whoever, to give her past-self flack.

Yes, at the older age you must realize that sometimes you've got to be the one to make an end of things or have built up some thicker skin to generate some peace as you're not even in the same spaces anymore like you were in college when the guy truly was making life hell enough for you to drop a class.

Yes, the pool scene shows she has little progress than she should. That in no way negates how Steven hasn't either, he's just now even better at hiding his crazy...I mean that damn speech?

Yes, we the audience know that Steven is slighting both Lucy & Diana with his whole "find the right one to do the work for"; but people like Max don't. People who don't bother to internalize and observe people beyond the surface and at their own convenience.

Steven also says he was the idiot (notice how he makes it abt him), there is enough for some inattentive, inexperienced, distracted, or ignorant people to take it as if he's being self-effacing...but no, he *ended* his speech w/that dig. This and the sales comment abt her "as long as you're happy" (when we already heard him say to Diana that he basically thinks working in sales is "beneath" him). HE hasn't changed, not one bit. He will always try to get his lick in, as present/future!Pippa says he will and has not ever "changed".

Again, I can't exactly "hate" Lucy for the pool scene even as I am exasperated with her for it. I hate discrepancies like these where one ends up "hating" the wrong person the most, makes me misanthropic (not just misandirist).

Last Notes...

So, real life-wise, yeah, Future!Lucy, stop, just remove yourself from those group of so-called "friends" AND Max and get some therapy. Otherwise, you're just choosing to be toxic. Yes, the letter about Drew was much, but that is more misguided defending a dead girl who shouldn't have died. The way she went about it was concerning, but not unfoundly malicious. Yeah, her telling Steven abt Lydia's personal shit was terrible of her and maybe it's bc she had many experiences from Lydia actually doing as she did with that stupid poop comment to embarrass her. That was shitty, but I am also not going to remove the described possibility abt Lydia when we know Lydia is perhaps the biggest pick-me to ever pick me in this entire cast and is def jealous of Lucy. I think it's important to note that Lucy one time punched Lydia's ex when he basically cheated on her publicly or something along those lines. And, as Lucy says, she was trying to take care of Steven the way she thought she was (as some people will say Diana might be trying to while getting back at Lucy).

Perhaps Lucy and Steven are a pair who drag everyone around them, with Lucy sending that letter (Wrigley's accident, Drew's mental dive) and also having slept w/Evan & that also having lead to Bree getting w/Oliver. However, Bree wasn't forced to sleep w/Oliver even as she searches for validation form him she's missing from Evan and her friends. And Wrigley having allowed his mates to harass Pippa, having joined other boys/men in inviting only freshmen girls who he later says are a "curse", when he's the one who suggested this stupid ass game for this group of people (we don't nearly give enough flack for this when this basically set up the entire evening along w/Steven's bullshit, but apparently we will give Lucy flack for the pool scene above all else). Evan not only cheating but making Bree feel she's crazy for questioning his overcompensation, then getting mad when she wouldn't give him the time of day when she's really just distracted, then him stringing along the girl I don't remember the name of. All of these people are quite capable of creating their own drama and hurting each other without Lucy, esp with how they refuse to let Steven go or pay attention and hold him accountable, go ALL the way with him.

I think that a present popular audience feeling that Lucy is somehow "close" to Steven's level and type of toxicity are themselves serving to protect mal predation and bad acting. Something these "friends" are doing, ironically.

So I will always have the most smoke for Stephen & the other men....THE MOST. As I also ream Lydia Pippa, Bree, Diana....not just Lucy, as it appears people have and continue to do. Stephen is the un"fix"able provoker, Lucy may almost always respond or seek out to compete but that is more because she is highly, immaturely lost. Stephen is not and never was lost in her impulsivity that is discouraged more often than Stephen is simply bc of expectations of girls over males. There is no grace I can afford to Stephen who CHOOSES AND STRATEGIZES to be an active menace to everyone around him, god awful mother or not. Lucy needs someone to level with her without being a complete hypocrite or uncognizant of abuse and misogyny themselves so they can remain as observant as possible. Stephen needs jail or exile. Lucy's problems stem from an extreme sense of low self worth; Stephen is insistent on destroying others to make room for himself. They are not the same and do not have the potential for the same, esp separated and Lucy somehow forced to look inward. Remember, IAGO, and unlike Othello, Lucy's story isn't done yet, if the writers continue to write well.

I love this damn show so much. i wouldn't be friends or even acquaintances with any of them, yes inclu Lucy & Wrigley.
