Would he be horrified? Would he be proud? Would he hate them? Who, if any, would he tolerate the most?

Here's a bit of info on all of them (I tried to keep it condensed).

Morgana's son:

Madoc ‘Morgar/Morgie’ Le Fay, 20—was hired on as a bodyguard for Arthur and Gwen’s oldest two sons after they did something very foolish despite only being two years older than them. He's been described as odd, smarter than he lets on, and mysterious—and he is a magic user, like his mother before him (Funnily enough, he fills Merlin's role for the twins. Aka he saves their lives when necessary but doesn't outright spy on them and report back to anyone with that information).

Arwen's Children:

Loholt Pendragon, 15—heir to the throne who spent most of his childhood running around with the servants and knights’ children and the rest in the library and blacksmith’s quarters. Is destined to die of disease in the prison of Sir Caradoc of the Dolorous Tower, if intervention does not occur. Is dating a princess named Angelica.

Llacheu Pendragon, 15—twin of Loholt and possible future ruler of Lady Florie’s kingdom (the princess he is dating). Is destined to be slain in his sleep by his jealous best friend’s hand after slaying a giant if intervention does not occur. Has some magic in him.

Nathalia Pendragon, 13—a studious but fierce princess who is particularly handy with a mace and has many an ally amongst the other princesses. Destined to die a martyr with 11 thousand others during a pilgrimage if no intervention occurs.

Amhar Elyan Pendragon, 13—the first adopted son of Arthur and Gwen, and a Chamberlain. He was studious and always the odd one out in group settings, but was well loved by his family regardless. Is destined to be murdered by a shapeshifter taking on Arthur's form if fate does not intervene.

Iduana Pendragon, 11—a good friend of the staff’s children and a smart, stubborn, sneaky princess who knows how to get what she wants. Later, when she's older, she marries a disgraced prince named Edgar and goes back with him to his kingdom, keeping contact with her family.

Aedulf Pendragon, 10—this wild child of a prince grows up spending most of his free time in the stables, woods, kennels, and other places where he can be around animals. He goes on to become a vigilante dressed in all black under the name 'Morgan Le Noir’ before meeting Isolde's former handmaiden, Brangaene, and falling in love with her. If his older siblings’ fates are not prevented, he becomes the king of Camelot.

Duran Pendragon, 7—a squire who spent most of his childhood inside and fearing of the crows that were prophesied to one day take his life before he went on to become a vigilante named ‘Patrike Le Rous’.

Gwydre Pendragon, 5—a Bard and a Squire with an eye for matching making. He's highly resistant to his parents’ overprotective nature and has a flair for the dramatics. Is destined to be slaughtered by a giant boar if fate does not intervene.

Artie Pendragon, 3—the adoptive son of Arthur and Gwen who was rumored to be Arthur's affair child (which is not true). He's a mischief maker who wants to be just like his dad and is best friends with Merlin's son, Dragonet, and Gwaine's son, Everard.

Melora Pendragon, newborn—the second youngest child of Arthur and Gwen, and the one most willing to attend council meetings. takes up the mantle of 'the Knight of the Blue Surcoat' and goes on a series of quests to save her beloved, Prince Orlando of Thessaly, after he was imprisoned by an imposter of Merlin that Sir Mador sent after him.

Hilde Pendragon, born when Artie is five— the quietest and the most nurturing of the Pendragon siblings. The youngest child who eventually goes on to marry Prince Herthgegn.

Neither Morgie or the Pendragon siblings were raised how Uther raised Arthur and Morgana.

For the five years of Morgie's life that Morgana was alive for, she tried to be a better parent than Uther himself was and she succeeded.

As for Arwen’s kids?

Well, Arthur and Gwen raised them to be true to themselves as well as kind, hardworking, and just. Their children are their world and they didn't let things they found silly prevent their kids from being happy. Their daughters wanna learn sword fighting? Then they learned it. Their sons want to learn magic or how to sew? If it's possible they learn it.

Their kids come first to them.

And when Arthur found out about the orphaned Morgie (when he was twenty) he welcomed him with open arms.

I definitely think that uther would not like Madoc simply because he is a magic user lol. but also he is morgana's son so half of my wants to say that he might be tolerant but i do think the magic thing would just make him hate madoc.

Loholt- umm maybe have complicated feelings. i do see uther tolerating loholt but also running around with servants when he doesnt deem servants worthy like uther is looking down on loholt for running around with them. i do think some tolerance but not enough. i did for a second accidentally mess up stuff so hopefully i fixed everything and this now makes sense for loholt.

llacheu- the magic in him would make uther not like him at all lol. complicated feelings again but magic puts a damper in everything that uther talks about or feels about

nathalia- ohhh i think he make like nathalia. uther is a complictaed person especially with how he reacts with his family but i do think i can see him tolerating or even liking nathalia to a certain extent

amhar- sidebit- holy shit thats sad as fuck that if no intervetion that would be his fate. now im sad thinking about if there ois no intervention that he could spend the last moments thinking that arthur killed him. brb sobbing (typing on computer cant do emojis now)

okay side rant over- i think that maybe the adoption thing might set uther off because uther is absolutely traditonal and etc so i can see him just not tolerating amhar. i dont think that uther would hate him but also not have any warm feeling about him

iduana- i see her going with the disgraced king as something that uther would not like at all (after all we did see how he reacts with people that he doesnt deem worthy and etc with gwen while yes its different but also the disrgaced prince lol) anyway i do think he would have complicated feelings about that. like i can see him liking iduna but it puts a damper on everything

aedulf- i think differences of how to behave and etc would affect this relationship high key. ngl i feel like a lot of them are tolerance but not enough and etc because uther feels so familial to me like he wont let disrespect go and etc but also i dont think he high key hates his family. so sorry if i repeat this again lol but tolerance but not enough where it actually matters

duran- he might like duran. hard for me to say right now what i think lol

gwydre- again i feel like this is hard for me to say. uther is sooo complicated in the family category that i think he would do anything for this kid but also at the same time not be willing to change who he is to actually be tolerable towards gwydre

artie- the adoptive thing i think would mess with him and make hi, hostile towards artie especially if its a rumor about an affair child wait actually i think that would make uther have the biggest resentment towards artie like it would be insane. so scratch what i said before i think uther would have a deep hatred towards this kid simply because of everything that everyone said.

melora- i think the knight position may make uther some bit hostile but also he never seemed in canon to have a problem with morgana fighting but also he has strict rules so idk honestly. i think uther would tolerate melora

Hilde- maybe some tolerance but honestly not enough to make it meaningful

lmaooo i did not read the last part before answering any of them but honestly reallll love how they dont follow in uther's footsteps. their kids coming first is everything!!! i think uther thinks of himself like that where his kids are incredibly important to him but it doesnt come across that way and he has different rules in how he operates. so like arthur and gwen's beliefs and how they raised their kids are going to 100% clash with all of uther's beliefs so def a lot of non-tolerance or barely any tolerance lol

here's a wild one for y'all. cw for parental death. names have been changed, it is a kinda specific situation but I think only 1 of my family members is on Tumblr so whatever. sorry it got so long, it's a complicated situation and still VERY fresh so my brain is kinda fried lol.

tldr my dad passed away without a will and we want to give his long-distance "side" gf the house he helped her buy. I'm worried she won't be able to afford the mortgage, but don't really want to give her any of the monetary payouts. WIBTA if my brothers and I kept all of the cash?

so late last week (it's Dec 19 as of submitting) my father (60s M) passed away in a sudden car accident on his way to work. I'm (late 20s ftM) his oldest child, I also have a younger brother (mid 20s M) who we'll call Phineas and an even younger half-brother (almost tween, M) who we'll call Aaron.

so I'd describe my dad as a kind and loving but stubborn and stupid man. I would also guess, based on what I know of his love life, that he was polyamorous but didn't realize it due to his conservative Christian upbringing and didn't know it was an option so instead ended up being...well, kinda an adulterer tbh. this isn't to excuse his actual actions bc they were obviously wrong, but is the way the situation reads to me, a polyamorous person.

Dad had a long distance girlfriend (50s??? maybe??? F) on the West Coast (we live near the East Coast), we'll call her Melody. I met her a few years back when he flew Phineas and I with him to visit her. she's a sweet woman from what I know of her. when I got the news of his passing, I was the one who called her to let her know what happened. (which sucked.)

well, what I Didn't know until I was trying to scrape together travel arrangements (I live 5 hours away from Phineas and my dad) was that he also had a Wife (60sF), who we'll call Patricia. (it wasn't a legal marriage, it was "in the eyes of the Lord" as they said, due to legal complications to do with her social security benefits or something. which is why the arrangements for his death fell onto Phineas and I as his adult children. but if he called her his wife then as far as I'm concerned that's what she is.) he didn't really tell me or Phineas about the full nature of their relationship. Phineas found out bc our dad was spending so much time with her that he'd practically moved in w her, put two and two together and asked her to confirm. I never even knew she existed till all this happened. he had told his parents and siblings about her, and they approved of her. we can only speculate why he kept it so quiet to us, she thinks bc of his history with Real Duds that we'd be upset somehow. idk.

so anyway Patricia knew about Melody. my dad was already seeing Melody when he started seeing Patricia. I don't know what he was thinking when he got with Patricia tbh, can't ask him now anyway, but she knew about Melody the whole time. wasn't thrilled about it, constantly told him he needed to tell her the truth and end things, but doesn't truly hold that against Melody herself bc she didn't know.

Melody, however, did not know about Patricia. he was planning to tell her at some point. kept meaning to. still loved her, didn't wanna hurt her, but was also trying to be monogamously committed to Patricia too. he never got around to actually ending things with Melody before he passed, and as far as she knew he was still planning to move out there and get married to her. he even took out a loan to help her pay for her late mother's house, both their names are on the mortgage and deed.

which brings me to my question. my dad didn't seem to have a will (not that we can find anyway), so Phineas and I are the ones in charge of distributing his various belongings and payouts and such. we both agree that we don't have any use for some house across the country, and Melody is already living in it anyway. imo she should just Have It. however, she is also Pretty Poor. I don't know the specifics of her situation (or, really, much about the complications of home ownership?) but I do worry about her ability to continue to pay the mortgage, assuming that's a thing. we're still waiting to hear about all the details and numbers and have somebody who actually knows about that stuff translate it into layman's terms for us non-homeowners (or in Phineas's case, Brand New Homeowner) so we can get a full picture of how all that is going to work legally speaking.

Dad also had life insurance thru his employer. we are still working thru the red tape at his company to figure out who the beneficiary is, the most likely candidate being me as the eldest child. Phineas and I are agreed that we'll at least be splitting most, if not all, the money evenly between us and Aaron. Patricia is INSISTENT that she doesn't want any of it, she wants us kids to keep it bc unlike some of his exes she never cared about his money (he made GOOD money, but still ended up kinda poor due to both being generous to, and having been taken advantage of by, multiple women since my bio mom died. including having to shell out an insane amount of child support for Aaron despite already having a very active role in his life. like he paid more child support than either I or my fiancee even make at our jobs, while also frequently just straight up directly providing for him where he could). because of his income it's looking like a pretty hefty payout.

however, my brother and I are both pretty poor as well. while we don't know the exact amount we're getting, some are speculating a number that, even split 3 ways, would be Life-Changing for us. we're talking 5 figure amounts, more than I or my fiancee make in a year. like we'll still need to work for a living but, for example, it could be a down-payment on a house or a massive safety net for when I'm out of work (I have a steady job but with seasonal unpaid breaks). it could help Phineas afford expensive repairs for the trailer he now owns, which my dad was supposed to help pay for. in the right account with a decent interest rate, it could be tuition for when Aaron goes to college.

I feel like I Should probably toss some of that money Melody's way, esp since I feel so bad that she's getting the one-two punch of finding out her bf died AND also he had a wife she wasn't aware of. but my brothers and I could really use that money as well. I don't know that Phineas wants to send her any, we're saving that conversation for when we know more of the exact numbers. I don't even know how much Dad was paying towards it, or if he even was anymore. plus--and this is kinda a minor detail--but there's kind of a general vibe I'm getting from the Family (ALL 4 of my dad's siblings AND both his parents are somehow still alive) that Melody is kinda...unliked. they love Patricia and were CONSTANTLY frustrated that he was still visiting Melody and frequently sending her money; I get the feeling they viewed her the same as some of his other gold-digging exes so i think maybe sending her Even More Money would look a little weird? like she's already getting full ownership of a house out of the deal. most of them are in agreement that Phineas and I are the ones who get the final say on the bulk of these decisions but they're...a little pushy anyway.

like I said, we don't know what any of the actual numbers look like AT ALL yet, so it might actually be fine. but WIBTA if we just left her the sole homeowner when she couldn't really afford it, and not send her any money? the consensus will probably show up too late to affect our decision but hey, figured the situation would make for a wild ride anyway (or maybe I just feel like that bc it has been for me LOL).

The alarm goes off at 5:30am and you’re thankful that you remembered to pack all your new clothes the week before. As you rushed to do your routine, put on nice makeup, a nice set of lingerie and one of the new dresses you bought just for the trip. A black, knee length little summer dress paired with some strappy, chunky heels.

A whistle comes from behind you and your mom, dad, and sister are standing there, soft smiles on their faces. “Honestly that guy is a fuckin idiot. Giving up my hot sister to go do god knows what.” You laughed at your sister’s comment and sighed. “Think you dodged a bullet on this one honey. Always gave off that kinda flakey vibe.” You nodded and gave them a hug. “Thanks dad. Think I dodged a bullet too.”

Your mom perks up and checks the time. “Well let’s get you to the airport then. Don’t want you to be late for your flight!” Your dad helps you with your bags as your mom leads the way to the car, your sister talking your ear off about the trip and to send lots of pics and videos and to have fun.

Luckily when you arrived it was only 6am and the line to get through security was short enough it only took you 20 minutes to get through. You made your way to the assigned gate for your plane and made yourself comfy as you waited.

It was about 15 minutes later when a group of four men came into the area, discussing something but honestly you were immersed in your podcast and couldn’t exactly hear them. That was until one of them, a handsome man with a British accent, pointed at you and approached. He was dressed in dark jeans and a gray t-shirt, showing off defined, strong looking arms, dark skin glowing in the early morning sun.

”Sorry to disturb you ma’am, but is this the gate for flight 5138 to Italy? They changed us at the last second and my boss is pretty sure we're in the right area.” You look at his ticket and then your own. “Uhm yeah looks like it! Hate when things change last minute.” The man nods, beautiful chocolate brown eyes shining. “Thank you miss…?”

You flush, extending your hand and giving your name. He takes it and kisses your hand, “A pleasure. Thank you again.” He walks back to his group and you stare at your hand for a moment before going back to listening to your podcast. You notice them all gather around closer and sit across from each other and a seat away from you. They talk amongst themselves before the oldest, who you assume is their boss, pulls his beanie over his eyes and leans back for a nap.

The one that asked you about the gate earlier sits next to you and pulls out his phone to play some game. The other two, one with a skull face mask and the other with a Mohawk talk amongst themselves. You hit an interesting point in the podcast you’re listening to, as the narrator retells a scary experience story someone sent in. Under your breath you unconsciously mutter out a ‘Oh my fuckin god why? Wouldn’t have let the spooky batch in my house to begin with.’ Drawing their attention to you.

”Aye, letting spooky bitches into your home would nae be the smartest move.” You glance at the Mohawk guy and apologize. “Ah sorry I didn’t think I’d said out loud.” He shakes his head and laughs. “Nah don’t be. What’s so spooky anyway?” You show him the podcast on your phone, him and the masked guy looking and nodding. “The woman likes scary stories. Got any recommendations?” The masked one speaks and his voice is gravel, you absolutely love it.

”Well this one is pretty good. Active too, about 400+ stories with some of them compilations.” You give him the name of it and he searches it up, popping a headphone in and scanning the area. The Scottsman brings your attention back to him, more interested in having someone to talk to. “What are ye headin to Italy for? Family? Friends?” You hesitate. You don’t know these men and having four strange, and extremely handsome, men knowing you’re by yourself seems like a bad idea.

”Uh, Honeymoon for one.” His face drops and his frown surprises you. “That a thing? Did nae ken you could have one a those.” Beanie guy chimes in, “That’s not a thing Johnny. Quit bothering the poor lady.” “Aye Cap, just makin friendly convo with Bonnie.” Chocolate eyes smirks and leans in, “If he’s bothering you we can muzzle him for ya.” You giggle and shake your head. “No no, he’s fine.” “So what’s the reason fer the solo honeymoon if ye dinna mind me askin?”

You look at him for a solid minute before replying. “You don’t gotta answer him. You don’t know us, you’re not inclined to share.” You nod, but politely give them your name. Beanie guy introduces himself as John, mask dude says his name is Simon, Mohawk is John but says you can call him Johnny, and chocolate eyes says his name is Kyle, you make a face before furiously apologizing. You slap your hands over your face, trying not to ruin your makeup. “Oh my fucking god that was so rude! I’m so sorry.”

”Gave ‘er the ick and all you did was give the poor girl your name Garrick. That’s a new one.” “No no I’m sorry. My ex fiancé’s name was Kyle. Stupid asshole literally left me at the altar yesterday. Hence why I’m on this solo honeymoon. His parents spent the money and they didn’t want to let it go to waste.” The men stare at you in shock, taking in your outfit, the nice makeup. “”What fuckin muppet. Was he cheating?”

You shake your head. “His best man is an absolute madman with any kind of tech and went through all of this socials and electronics, even the phone records. Didn’t find anything.” The men nod and hum. “So what are you guys heading to Italy for? Business? Overdue vacation?” “Something like that.” John says. “On leave for now.” “Military?” They nod, “What’s that like?” “Fuckin exhaustin. Wish the bad guys would take some fuckin vacations honestly.”

After that you five spend time talking until they begin boarding the plane, the stewards sending everyone to their own first class areas. You order a Jack and coke and settle in for the long flight.

what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?

Definitely my childhood, we went through some traumatic shit and it forced us to grow up pretty quickly.

My family and our cultural background. My dad left Cuba in the 80s, fought hard to bring my mom and my older siblings over and that struggle has been engrained into us. (also the fact that they settled here in Canada and decided to raise us here, rather than the US where he originally landed)

My friends. My oldest friend I met when I was about 6, he and I went through the same thing and it bonded us to hell and back. I have friends I met in Elementary, they're an anchor. I have friends I met in high school, we've all grown up together and I wouldn't be who I am without any of them.

5. what made you start your blog?

Honestly? Covid lol. I started writing fanfic in my teens, and then dropped it when I got into my 20s. Forgot about it, thought I'd outgrown it but the stories have always been there. My friends and I would make up stories for each other as gifts and then the pandemic hit and I found myself reading fanfic for the first time in over a decade. I saw the overwhelming talent on here and it just ignited something in me. I started writing again, realized that I'm not half-bad and met a whole community of amazing writers.

14. what's something you've always wanted to do but maybe been too scared to do?

Shave my head, as insane as that may sound. A lot of women shave their heads, I know it's not that big of a deal but I've always felt my hair was such a security blanket. My mom never let me cut it as a child, always halfway down my back. Then when I grew into an adult I took it back and would cut it chin-shoulder length, but the urge to just shave it off has always been there. I always regret not having done it at the beginning of the pandemic. The thought of having nothing to hide behind is both freeing, and terrifying. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough.

Bumblebee- Uhm... huh? Because they work here?

Raf- Illusion means how did they start working here, or something.

Bumblebee- Oh! Spike started coming here when he was a kid, his mom and dad are engineers here. It was supposed to just be a one time thing, cause his parents didn't trust him to be alone at home, so he came here after school for a week. He started to come here even after his brother graduated high school and he was trusted to stay home alone. He liked it here, especially because at the time Chip had started coming here for the same program you and your cousin are here for.

Raf- The program is that old?

Chip- I only heard the last part, i take offense to that, I am not that old! You are 14!! this wasnt even 10 years ago! I was 15 when i was accepted into the program! Im 20!!

Raf- You are old though.

Chip- I have never hit a child, but I am so close to right now.

Carly- Why is Chip about to hit Raf?

Bumblebee- He called Chip old.

Carly- If he's old what does that make me?? Im 2 years older than him!

Raf- Also old.

Carly- I think Chip had a good idea.

Spike- Ok, both of you stop. Hes a teenager, and the youngest human here, he's going to be arrogant.

Bumblebee- Oh yeah, and Carly came here when she was... 18 i think?

Carly- Huh? Why are you wondering about when i came here?

Illussion- For the ask blog!

Carly- Oh! Yeah, I started coming here when i moved here for university! I would have loved to come here before, but I guess the program is only available to people that live in the nearby city, since its only a couple miles from here. Plus the program is limited to like, 5 people from the university. The past couple years, no one has qualified for the program besides me, Chip and Spike. For college kids, its like an unpaid internship the first year, and you can work up to getting a paid internship, and you have a job once you graduate! I recently graduated, so i started working full time here.

Spike- I just have one more year of the internship. Carly and I specialized in different types of engineering so we won't be working together, but we will work in the same area.

Raf- But, Chip isnt an engineer, why is he here?

Chip- You know, you're still in slapping range. *sighs* I'm a computer science major. I help integrate the Cybertronian technology with ours.

Illusion- So you work with Jazz and Blaster?

Chip- Yeah, or anyone that has monitor duty in the bridge. Jazz is like, spec ops, so he isn't there all the time, Blaster is the one mostly in charge of them.

Illusion- Oh!

Chip- We do important work.

Illusion- I have a question.

Chip- Yeah?

Illusion- Why are Jack and Miko here? They aren't in any of the programs you guys mentioned. They always hangout with us when Andy and Raf are shadowing the adults.

Spike- Oh, those two are here because of their parents.

Illusion- But why?

Spike- Jack's mom is a nurse, she was hired back when... Jack was like 13? His mom worries, so she asks him to come here after school. She used to pick him up, but several autobots volunteered to do it for her, so she didnt have to worry. And Miko, her parents were transferred here from japan. Miko was like... 12. They saw that there were a couple kids here already, so they just started bringing her here. She gets picked up after school along with Jack, Andy and Raf.

Illusion- Oh so they don't do anything.

Spike- I mean, they sometimes shadow their parents, but not in an official manner.

Illusion- Freeloaders?

Bumblebee- Ok, who taught you that word?? You always struggle with words that are that long, how did you say it right the first time??

Illusion- Andy calls Miko and Jack that all the time.

Spike- Ok, I think I should talk to Andy about appropriate ways to treat her classmates.

Illusion- but you just said they arent in the program.

Spike- Not here, but they are in the same school. Hey Carly, aren't you the one in charge of them?

Carly- Yeah, but when its their free time, I'm off teacher duty and do my normal tasks.

Raf- Do you even know how to be a teacher?

Carly- Chip?

Chip- Yeah?

Carly- Hold my earrings.

re parent regret article.... recently got my mom to admit she and my dad are deeply unhappy and the only reason they got married and had kids (in their early 20s, and it has dictated every moment of their lives since) is because it was what was expected of them and they felt like it was just the thing to do ... its very upsetting to think of how unhappy and unfulfilled my parents are but at the same time its kind of freeing because I understand a lot of their actions better now and their inability to raise us and give me the care I needed. this year I am older than my parents were when they had my oldest sibling and I kind of feel like im older than them now because theyve never fully grown past that point at least not as individuals. ya I suppose everyone has their paths in life and it all fits together and works and means something but it is very sad to realize your childhood was painful because your parents were really just not suited to be parents and couldn't have done any better. im trying to not be weighed down by their lack of self actualization and to be an example for them by manifesting my life in the way I want despite them being upset by it, and to encourage them to become real people now that theyre 60.. umm ya sorry your inbox has become my therapy sessions recently it just feels so much better to confess these things anonymously and write it all out to someone instead of trying to explain to someone face to face and have it deal with their responses. plus i think u understand a lot of my issues although objectively our lives are quite different! anyway yeah hope you have a nice day!!!! xoxo 2012 :3

it is really crazy to think about the pressure ppl face to start families , seems to be less prevalent now but yeah even 20-30 yrs ago it was just, What You Do.. for my parents, they were in love, and i think they rly did want kids, they were together for 5 years before doing it they planned it out, i DO believe they were soulmates. but then once the reality set in idrk there was just this disconnect. my dad was the more nurturing parent, and he had kids from a prior marriage so he knew wat he was in for, i think he missed my brothers a lot so he had perspective. i assume anyway. but he was also major alcoholic which i thought was normal for so long (in england it is i spose). that took up a lot of his time. i know so little about him or his inner workings its quite torturous to me lol.

and my mom is still alive but i know so little about her too, other than stuff i learned thru drunken outbursts. when i try to ask her anything remotely personal or emotional now she stonewalls me so hard :/ she's always just been closed. her childhood was Horrific tho like both her parents were still minors when she was born, her mom is a WW2 orphan and her dad was a delinquent forced to enlist in the navy instead of being sent to juvie. all the stuff she HAS revealed to me abt her life is absolutely bats**t. its awful like i genuinely can not feel a single morsel of bitterness towards my mom knowing wat she's been thru.

that being said i WAS extremely angry at her for a big portion of my life its been a journey to unravel. but at this point i feel so much forgiveness idek how i got here or when. but i love her unconditionally! i also feel that my moms self actualization was rly stunted, not even by having kids but by my dads death, and being left with these kids she has to care for alone, oh god if i try to imagine how she felt it turns my insides to stone. like it really fractured her soul and made existing problems spiral out of control. although that being said she is doing WAY better now in comparison to the past, im rly proud of her. when we talk i try to always encourage her like u say..

really the best medicine is being able to zoom out and view the big picture of Life, not just your life but how all our lives fit together, when you zoom out you can spot the patterns find the order in the chaos. for ages n ages i cldnt understand the reason everything in my life was hell while all these other ppl i knew seemed to have it so normal. Nowadays i can understand how it lead me here, the trajectory and timing of everything, it brought me a lot of EXPerience i can use to help others..Even just by having this blog where i can talk about vulnerable topics , ppl tell me it helps them, i begin to see a new sense of value in my endured sufferings. if i feel like im healing someone that heals me ..

Finch rambles: MSB headcanons

(These are mostly headcanons that @daiohficblog and I have discussed on our Magic School Bus Discord server, but there's a few of my own as well.)

Carlos and Wanda are basically adopted twins, even though they live in different families.

One time, when Wanda was six, her actual older brother (Henry) shut her in one of the grocery store freezers. She was there for several minutes before Carlos found her and got her out. Ever since then, Wanda has hated the cold.

Carlos knows that Wanda and Henry don't get along, but part of him still can't fathom that siblings would fight so often. He's the oldest of three siblings, and they're practically three peas in a pod. Any time he gets into a fight with Mikey and/or Maria, it's usually about something silly.

Phoebe's basically a Disney Princess-- she's a good singer, she's kind, and she has a natural talent for befriending animals. She also names all of the animals she befriends.

The comedy act that Carlos puts on in "Getting Energized" (especially the Terminator impression) is something he came up with to entertain his younger siblings cousins at family gatherings. However, it does not work on a crowd of people who have been waiting god-knows-how-long to ride a Ferris Wheel.

Carlos cannot for the life of him play an instrument. However, he is a good singer. (Probably the second-best after Phoebe.) Wanda, on the other hand, thinks she is a good singer, but isn't.

Phoebe is the tallest girl in the class, but also the youngest.

gonna make this one about micky and bertie (mostly micky) cuz ive had them the longest and ive posted about them the most i think. they also have the most fun facts

1. this is on her ref , but micky is part spotted linsang, on her dad’s side.

she mostly takes after her mom, a black-footed cat, but she has an unusually long tail, spots on her belly, and unretractable claws on her hands*

she also has a cousin, named charlotte, whos a linsang and has a part in her story

*linsangs have retractable claws, but micky was born without the ability to retract them. her parents don’t know if it was caused by her being part linsang, or just by chance

Arcade Review

I attended VCF Midwest 18 (retro computing festival) in Chicago with my dad this last weekend and we stopped by the Galloping Ghost Arcade. I jotted down a list of the games we played and figured I’d flesh that out with some notes/context for tumblr.

1. Tron - they had both the original machine and the Discs of Tron machine. Considering we had both brought Tron shirts, this was a hit with us.

2. Qix - I’m familiar with the “cut off the box while something bounces around in it” genre and I had heard this name before but I don’t think I’d ever connected those dots before. I wanna play some more of this one sometime.

3. Asteroids - a classic and not much to add, but the vector graphics were so bright and vivid here that it really looked cool. and the momentum feels pretty good too on the ship.

4. Street fighter/mortal Kombat - we played MK2 and 4 which was good fun, I’d like to play more of all of them. And we did one round of SF1-4 which was super fun. I wish it was easier to get into fighting games. And that I didn’t have to pick one main!

5. Commander havoc - this really impressed with the vivid vector graphics and interesting track-cylinder controls. I didn’t even get to the platforming part until playing later in the Atari collection on my vita! Which emulates the track-cylinder using the touch screen which is a nice touch, never heard of this game before

6. Battle zone - again, this is familiar territory but playing with the real headset and joysticks really elevates it.

7. Batman forever - this one was just silly, the photo scans of the actors looks so goofy on top of the movie already being goofy

8. Berzerk - a favorite of my dad’s

9. Wizards of Wor - this one played like Pac-Man if Pac-Man has a gun, really wasn’t bad despite never hearing of it before

10. Dragon’s lair - got further than I think I ever have before, new goal of mine is to actually beat this game or at least watch the full “movie”

11. Capcom vs - always fun until the game actually starts lol, love the rosters but I suck at these even more than normal fighting games. Highlight was my dad recognizing a couple character from tatsunoko and promptly kicking my butt with them

12. Dungeon and dragons hack and slash - already own this at home but always fun to see, I really ought to beat my copy sometime with someone else

13. Virtual fighter/tekken - again, takes me back to a simpler time but I need a local player 2 for these to be fun

14. Darius - I think we played the oldest and newest one. Neat novelty for the wide wide screen. On the old one, you can tell it’s a CRT in the middle flanked by mirrors reflecting CRTs on the bottom of the machine. I have burst on my vita and never played it before, it’s cool to see how arcade accurate it is now!

15. Silent scope - always gotta pop my head in here because it’s a fun novelty, I should try the home port someday for fun

16. La machine guns rage of the machines - I have this on Wii but it was fun to play the arcade version! I was surprised by how strong the rumble was. I need to play this, NY gunblade, and ghost squad more at home with my legit Wii zappers

17. Aerosmith - never knew this existed and boy is it buckwild and kind of hilarious. Never would’ve expected the Aerosmith game to be a rail shooter

18. Moonwalker - we played this for about 30 seconds before sharing nervous laughter and moving on

19. Journey - we called this one out ahead of time thinking it surely wouldn’t be here. Plays like tron where it’s actually 5 minigames featuring poorly digitized heads of the band members. Pretty funny

20. Resident evil gun survivor 2 - this was really curious! You aim with a lighting but also move by using the light gun as a joystick. Pretty neat but the multiplayer didn’t work for us. Looks like there’s a home port exclusive to EU/JP? I’d love to play more of this oddity

21. Castlevania arcade? - I think this was just a port of Castlevania 1 but still interesting

22. Super Mario bros versus - couldn’t tell if this was different from Mario 1 at all functionally but playing with an arcade joystick and buttons was neat!

23. Mario bros - I’m so used to the remake included with GBA Mario games that the original makes me embarrass myself when I play it

24. Donkey kong - I need to actually clear all the stages at least once

25. Sinistar - my dad clutched a win against the S man himself, kinda neat how this game has multiple phases and free movement

26. Star Wars arcade - we played a super low poly one because it was 2 player with a much higher poly one next to us but single player only. Also played a ROTJ speeder bike game with neat handlebar controls

27. Defender/Stargate - a classic, I need to get decent at this one sometime

28. Tempest - TxK was the first game I got on my vita and I didn’t really get it, but now I get it more and the graphics really impresses. I’d like to play more versions of this game

29. Pac-Man/mania - a staple like bread or eggs. Maybe someday I’ll play all them in order

30. Joust/2 - this was super fun. Really shines in PvPvE with an uncertain alliance. Transforming the mount in the sequel is neat, had never seen it.

31. Warlords - 4 player pong basically, but also reminded me a bit of boom blox. Keeping an eye out for this one now.

32. Night driver - never heard of it before but kind of fun

33. Pole position - feels so much better with a real wheel and pedal

34. Qbert - terrible at it but cute

35. Spy Hunter 2 - pretty fun in 2 player mode actually

36. Speed racer - this really surprised, this was super fun. Jumping over my dad was the highlight until we both collectively ran off a cliff and quit

37. Gauntlet dark legacy - somehow plays way worse than the GameCube version? But fun seeing this guy here

38. Robocop/2 - first one sucked, second one relatively impressed especially with the Wild Guns-Esque shooting gallery minigame

39. Contra - we had just played the DS Contra 4 so we had to play this one for comparison. As hard as I remember, especially for him lol. Also played an odd 2.5D contra in Japanese. I got the feeling it was a phone game port and googling now confirms yes, it is, called Contra Evolution

40. Ikari warriors - fun to play because of the unique twisting joystick. My dad lamented that we didn’t get to the tanks

41. Crystal castles - my dad showed off a secret warp trick on the first try that I managed to recreate on my vita port that uses the touch screen as a trackball. Way cooler with trackpad than joystick like I’d played before. Also always think of the musical artist

42. Cyberball - hot nonsense, he crushed me. Fun dual screen corner setup

43. Sonic the fighters - I had thought it would be fun if they had this one and they did! Didn’t play long but just fun to see it show up

44. Segasonic - this was my wildest guess as to what could even appear here, very happy to see it! My only chance to ever really play this game. Sadly, had a rude guest next ti me during it

45. Yi are king fu - this was high on my dad’s list and did in fact appear, he blazed through the first five levels quickly. I’d like to try and play this a bit more

46. Ring king - boxing game my dad was looking for, we really struggled to get started with the controls

47. Punch out - it was neat to get to play the arcade original with the wireframe graphics like his alternate costumes in smash bros

48. Judge dredd - this one was just kinda funny, classic stiff digitized photo graphics ala mortal kombat

49. 3D xevious - had never seen this, kinda neat

50. Super puzzle fighter - a favorite of my mother’s, fun to see the cabinet version. Especially since the XBLA port is weirdly compromised in some ways

51. Space invaders - this one was fun because it had a physical background graphic that the game sprites seemed to hover above, which was much more impressive than seeing just the game sprites in isolation

52. Mega man power battle - I had beaten both of these before on the capcom arcade collection for $1.99 a pop, but playing and seeing a real cabinet was a real treat

53. Paperboy - I always associated this game with the NES but the arcade version with a unique handlebar controller is a lot more charming. Still far too hard.

54. Pit fighter - so bad it’s good, this was on my dad’s list

55. Quake - this was a curious one, having to aim and move with just arcade buttons

56. Star Trek - pretty cute vector game, the Split View of first persons and top down is pretty neat

57. Cliff Hanger - fascinatingly, a laserdisc game in the style of Dragon’s Lair but repurposing clips from Lupin III without advertising itself as such.

58. Wrestlemania - not my first time playing this one, but always fun to see the super over the top moves

59. Rampart - one of my dad’s favorites, admittedly kind of advanced for the time with the base building in between rounds. Kind of an addicting gameplay loop if I am being honest

60. Quantum - super cute vector game with trackball that plays like Pokémon ranger where you have to draw circles around objects. Pretty good game feel, curious about this one

Popeye - favorite of my dad’s, screen broke

Star Wars episode 4 - similar

Mk3 - working but poor screen, my favorite MK

Soul calibur - the only had 2 and we ended up skipping it anyways

Silent hill - beautifully giant machine but was either down for repair or occupied

As I am now 30 and apparently an Actual Adult and Twitter is exploding even more, I figured that before I get back to the last bit of ArtFight I'd do some Dolly Introductions because most of my characters exist in the form of very expensive, very large dolls rather than the far cheaper "just draw them" option.

This is because I have impulse control issues and just love these idiots so... Hey! LORE is below the page break, as well as their sculpts!

These are just the ones who are important in some way in the big ol' thing I have going on, there are MORE DOLLS. So many more dolls.

1. Callum Shelley - Dollshe David Kuncci - the man who made Frankie and his siblings. Married to Science and Science only; he's also very gay and very awkward, and so decided that his desire to be a father could only really be achieved through sewing a ton of bodies together and reanimating it using science and Arcane Shit. He's technically on the run, as Frankie was kinda made in a lab that was meant to be looking into ways to improve transplants and other slightly theoretical ideas rather than Maybe Magic Could Help Me Have A Child, but he's managed to embed himself into Harlan's weird little underworld and so they don't have to jump ship at a moment's notice anymore. He now lives in London, in one of the many buildings owned by the Twins- Harlan wrangled that, as it would be useful to have an actual doctor on standby, right?

2. Franklin "Frankie" Shelley - Ringdoll Frankenstein 2013 - Frankenstein's Monster if he was a mid-20s Horrorpunk Dirtbag with a heart of gold. Very family-oriented- it was him and his dad for a few years just after he was made and they're very close. Had a few wobbly times as he came to terms with Being A Bunch Of Corpse Parts and therefore not really being able to do stuff, but now they have a little niche he's having a good time. Would literally die for-

3. Poppi - Aimerai Scraps - a ragdoll that was brought to life via some fairly arcane shit. A literal cinnamonbun angel. Frankie's other half, and generally makes sure that Callum doesn't accidentally forget to eat while he's working on stuff. As she can't have children (she literally has no internal organs), she's also involved herself heavily in looking after Frankie's siblings.

4. Evelyn Shelley - Sugarble Night Miriam - Frankie's "little sister". She's about six and she's always going to be about six- she's a very sweet little kid, loves dolls and dressing up. She has that "Family Princess" confidence, and can often be found "making Frankie Pretty".

5. Valentine Shelley- 5StarDoll Aiden - Frankie's "little brother". Although he's technically younger than Evelyn, he's probably more akin to a 7/8 year old. He was made as a playmate for Evelyn as she was getting pretty lonely. Callum had honed his technique a little, hence Val not literally being blue like his siblings. He's always ready for some sort of adventure, but lets Evelyn take the lead.

6. Magdalen - Doll Chateau Oort -very old vampire. She's the tactician; although she's very powerful, she tends to direct her brother rather than get her hands dirty. She talks the most of the twins, but even that's not much. The twins function almost as one person, and are rarely far from each other.

7. Alasdair - Doll Chateau Cyril - also a very old vampire. He's Magdalen's muscle- if something threatened them, he'd be the one actually dealing with it. He barely speaks, but when he does it's generally something very important. The twins live in Highgate and do not appreciate any link between them and that Highgate Vampire business. Their home is a massive Victorian thing that has some minor glamours so it's not considered "the clearly haunted house".

8. Harlan Silver - Ringdoll K -puts the Whore in Victorian, he's here representing the Pansexual Slut Vampires. He's considered the "oldest son" to Magdalen and Alasdair, but his function is less as a child and more as their connection to the outside world. He brokers deals and access to the twins, sources... food for them if they don't feel like hunting and has shown them how to connect to the wifi about 5 billion times. He lives in a basement flat in London that would make any antiques dealer jealous. He also kinda has a... thing... with Callum, but it's less emotion and more mutual benefit.

9. Seraphine - Doll In Mind Marcellina - the precious baby daughter in the vampire family. She was brought to them by Harlan as a toddler in the late 1800s, and they have raised her the way they were raised. Day of Invention- The story of TOOB TOSS!

It was Sept 5th, I am living in an efficiency apartment in Etna PA. My finance and I broke up earlier in the year and I am in a place that is directly across the street from where her and I lived together, She has since moved away, which has made life way easier for me. My cousin Bobby Lee is up from WV to visit with her son Mathew and his cousin from his dad’s side Kevin. So, it is hot out and we were bored. I notice that Mathew is “shot putting” the football to me instead of throwing it normal with a spiral. Kevin and I were surprised this 15-year-old boy could not throw a football. I asked Mathew “didn’t anyone teach you how to throw a football” and to my surprise he said no, and that he spends all his time hunting and fishing. I told Mathew imagine the threads on the football are a fish and your hand is the bigger fish eating the smaller fish, that is the football. After I explained it to him this way, Mathew threw a spiral right to me. After about an hour of that my arm was like spaghetti noodle. We were hungry so we ordered a pizza to have it delivered. And we played Hacky Sack until the pizza arrived. Once the pizza arrived we had few slices, and then Mathew points out to me how cool his moms pop up trash can for her car is. And compresses it and lets it pop up into the air, I said ”that’s pretty cool, let me see that” so I pop it to see if it will fly through the air. I notice the bottom is impeding its flight causing it to flip over and act like a kite, it would not fly correctly. So, I ask Bobby if I can ruin her pop trash can for her car, she responds “what, why?” I ask her how much was it, she responds with “I don’t know 5 or 6 bucks” I said OK here is a 10, and I go upstairs take a razor blade and cut a hole in the bottom of the trash can and for the next 3 hours Mathew, Kevin and I try to pop this spring tube onto a fence post. And I say “This is a game” they all look at me and say “what do mean” I say think about it, we threw football, then played hacky sack, and we are spring flinging. Or something like that.

So over the next 2 or 3 days I went and purchased some more pop trash cans, 2 more. I took those 2 and put pink duct tape on the end, to give it some wait and create a reverse venturi through the center of the TOOB to stabilize it inflight when you through it. So I had to think of a better name that “spring fling”. I started with the name TOOB-IT and you can play three games with TOOB-IT, TOOB TOSS, TARGET TOOB & TOOB TAG. Well, TOOB-IT sounded too much like “too bit” so I settled on TOOB TOSS. Now after I filed and obtained my patent. Not much happened over the next few years. But TOOB TOSS was not was it is now. It was made of all fabric and only flew about 15 to 20 feet at the furthest. So, during this time I had moved in with my new girlfriend and her 3 children. The oldest daughter was 15 years old being a brat and we were arguing , and I said something like me and your mother will get rich off my invention. And before I could finish being a 15 year old girl she said “your toy really sucks, make it better” and I am standing there with nothing to say. Because she was right. So over the next few months I redesigned it to what it is now, I have to but a 3D printer and make a foam end mold, because I had to see if I could get it to fly correctly and far enough. Now TOOB TOSS has in flight correction feature that I didn’t plan on. That makes it difficult to have a bad throw. And with is ergonomic design and ease of use makes TOOB TOSS fun safe and soft for all ages. And TOOB TOOS now flies 30 to 60 yards. And is throw & catch fun for the entire family. TOOB TOSS is a registered trademark, and a patented product.
