And wow, for a show that advocates "true love", this mini-plot sucks. Because dwarfs and fairies are just "supposed to do their jobs" and all that shite. Yeah, sacrifice your happiness to "bring joy to the world". Except if you're a main character type, then you can choose true love.

Not good, show. Not nice. You just wanted to justify why Grumpy is grumpy? And why you gotta hurt Nova like that? They both just want to be happy. There are LOTS of dwarves and fairies that are content with the status quo but you just HAD to break these two apart.

Also, are you telling me that after all this, Grumpy fell in love again and had that diamond fiasco which was why he got sent to jail (where he met Snow)? Seems like dwarves DO love. And seems like they (writers? Directors? Idk) forgot about that Grumpy backstory just a few eps ago.

Guess the show has pockets I didn't notice before.

school hard is my most rewatched episode by a mile and it always makes me forget how the fuck sprusilla could ever possibly break up. they're SO good they're perfect to me here. despite the fact dru clearly isn't doing well they still feel like equals. spike is choosing to take care of her because he loves her, he adores her, and it shows. dru loves his attentions and loves giving them right back as best she can

i know everyone likes to put tharja in the "yandere goth girl" category but tbh i feel like pigeonholing her into one specific archetype does a huge disservice to her character. is she obsessed with curses and robin? yes. is she constantly shoved into a fanservice role by intsys? absolutely.

but i think a lot of people forget just how impactful a lot of her supports are...there's something about tharja that makes nearly everyone who interacts with her divulge their deepest secrets and points of anxiety with her. we see this with libra, who tells her of the abandonment he endured at the hands of his parents. we see it with nowi, whose cheerful demeanor slips off as she tells tharja of her missing parents. and although tharja is not the only one lon'qu confides in regarding ke'ri, their support is notably the only one in which lon'qu divulges that there was romantic involvement between he and his childhood friend.

and despite her antisocial exterior, she always listens mindfully and offers to help! she even goes out of her way to discreetly help the shepherds (getting virion to do odd jobs that benefit civilians, interrogating henry to make sure he bears no ill will towards ylisse, etc).

a big thing about tharja is that she IS kind. she IS considerate. she just also has a reputation to uphold as a dark mage and that (paired with her overall awkwardness ofc) makes her true nature hard to see at first glance

Sora, who knows exactly what he turns into when going Anti-Form and Rage Form.

it's easier to pass off in the beginning, an issue of using all these different forms so much. The first time it happened, Donald was startled as Sora ripped through Nobodies and Heartless with vicious ease. When asked about it after, Sora brushed it off with an "I don't know" but Donald wasn't a fool. Sora had said it so non-chalantly, with a wave of his hand and tilt of his head, that it shocked the duck into confused acceptance. And the same occurred with Goofy too. He tried pushing for answers a little further but it reached a point that, for reasons he couldn't explain properly, Sora had a look. His small smile that said: "Stop asking. I don't want to explain myself."

Donald and Goofy considered telling someone about it, anyone, but they then thought it wasn't their place to be the first ones to bring it up. What difference would it make if Yen Sid or Riku know when Sora still didn't want to talk about it? Maybe it'd upset him more that they told others without asking him.

In their next journey together, a new form takes its place. Neither Donald and Goofy disappear when it happens so they see it completely together. The movements were much more controlled and Sora could even still use his keyblade, though the aggression remained. It takes it happening three times before they ask him about it. Sora actually says something about it, something along the lines of "When he feels desperate enough" but he still carries the same smile—polite, practiced, so unlike Sora that they wonder when and why he made such an option in the first place.

Goofy quietly asks in the Gummi Ship after they had just helped Elsa and Anna if they should bring it up to Yen Sid and the others, and Sora gives a resolute "no." He says it's because he doesn't want to worry the others, and that is true, but there was definitely more to it. Uncharacteristically, Donald tells Goofy to drop it, mouthing "Don't push it."

Sora finally looks back at them from his seat and smiles.

It's a genuine one.

"Thanks, you two."

The next and last time Sora transforms, is when he's forced to by Xehanort. Even the old man is taken off guard by the ferocity in which Sora's darkness fights to get his light back. It's much more controlled, pronounced in a way that makes Xehanort aware that Sora knows. But the boy gets his light back fast enough to put Xehanort on the backfoot. No time to think.

Donald and Goofy decide to finally ask him about it again after everything is over. Maybe he'd be willing to explain when things settled down. Maybe it'd be easier if he had the time and space to breathe.

They never get to ask him.

Based on the thought/idea of Sora being aware of his issues but not wanting to talk about it. I take him as a person who knows what he's actively repressing.

this is just kinda an amalgamation of thoughts with no point to it but. i've been thinking about how the show would explain it if they had buck move on to another love interest next season. and idk how to word this correctly but the thought i'm having is like... if the only given explanation for bucktommy being over and the relationship not being the right one for buck is that tommy was his first boyfriend, for me what that's doing is legitimising the "i'm not your last, i'm your first" which was a statement born out of insecurity! to me the point of that should be tommy was wrong. i need him to be proved wrong.

otherwise... so the moral of the story here is that tommy was right and that buck doesn't understand his own feeings? that he mistook the excitement of the "novelty" of having a boyfriend for having real feelings for someone? that tommy was just a starter boyfriend and buck needs to "try out" other people (because his relationships with women don't count, obviously). biphobia? on the show that won't even let buck say the word bisexual? surprise! but not just that, i'm kinda sick of the whole treating buck like he's not an almost 34 year old man and is instead an impulsive teenage boy who we can't possibly take seriously when he says something about how he's feeling.

ALSO we know that abby was buck's most transformative relationship up until tommy. that i don't disagree with, buck said it himself. but i don't think we should look at it as tommy is only his most transformative relationship because he's a man and he made buck realise he liked men. is that part of it? definitely. but i don't think this was comparable to his other relationships in so many ways. Buck was, as he said, just so comfortable with him. he let tommy look after him and was never made to feel guilty about it. he wanted to move in with him, and while perhaps it was impulsive it wasn't like with taylor where he asked her to avoid telling her something else. he even brought up marriage unprompted! whereas the whole idea of getting engaged to taylor weirded him out. i don't want this relationship to be reduced to the fact that tommy was a man or that he helped buck "figure himself out".

personally i would like it to be made clear that tommy said what he said purely because he was scared of getting his heart broken, not because there was any truth to it. i can't have this end with buck going "yeah, guess he was right". the important points are, 1, he's not his first, and 2, it doesn't fucking matter if he was. I'm not even saying he HAS to end up with tommy. do i think he should? yes. do i think it would be a massively wasted opportunity and a stupid decision if not? yes. but the point is that if he decides to move on all of a sudden after holding on to these feelings for so long, i want to be given a better reason it couldn't work out 🤷‍♂️

(oh, and just adding that as a tommy enjoyer, i don't like leaving him believing that he isn't good enough, and then having that confirmed when buck moves on with someone "better". but whatever.)

Squid Game season 3 spoilers

People are really like "Squid Game did this bad, them portraying this thing how they did in the show means the writer is bigoted" when that's literally on purpose??? Hwang Dong-hyuk isn't "misogynistic and you can see it in his writing", he writes characters in a world that is misogynistic. Sang-woo didn't say that he doesn't want women in his team because Hwang Dong-hyuk hates women. He said that because Sang-woo grew up in a misogynistic world and adopted those worldviews. That's also proven because all of Squid Game's female characters are strong characters with determination and motivations and a personality that doesn't fall into the useless woman that needs to be saved trope. In fact. Jun-hee specifically doesn't want to be saved at all! Myung-gi tries to team up with her and help her so many times and most of those times she rejects him. How is that misogynistic writing? You can't tell me the woman who killed her abuser or the woman who fled a very controlling country to save herself and her brother or the trans woman who is so strong and competent or the religious woman who is able to easily build a following is misogynistic writing. They die sooner than a lot of the men because a lot of the Men in this show don't care about women. That's not misogynistic writing, that is writing that correctly portrays the misogyny of our everyday world. If you can't differentiate between the two then I don't know either

Also because some people say female characters or specifically Jun-hee are just plot devices: Every character in a story is a plot device. Every character serves a purpose for the story, that's actually really important for a story because why else would a character be there if they are completely useless to the story? The thing is though that a character that is a plot device turns into a character that is an actual person when you give them a personality and characteristics outside of their purpose for the plot. And every character in Squid Game has that!!

(That is also what I mean when I say that Squid Game portrays a realistic world)

So there's this Shadowvanilla fic on Ao3 Im fairly certain you know about, and in It SM and PV link up to eachother's minds/feelings/souls via their souljams touching, and its pretty sweet since since they're on their chests, the two basically have to hug to connect.

Which made me think, what about the other beasts and ancients? BS and GC would be by far the weirdest imo bc she would have to touch her forehead to his chest??? Which depending on the size difference It could still just be a hug.

SS and WL would touch their weapons (sword and staff), which can comes off as distant or cold, despite the fact they're about to peer into eachother's very being.

ES and MF suffer because their's are on their forehead and their ancient's are on their weapons😭😭 imagine HB shield to EG's forehead, that'd be awkward af

I don't really remember, I read the first 3 chapters a while ago and that's it haha (I really don't have the time to read fanfics, especially not ones as long as that one (it's like 15 chapters long now and still going with no end in sight, isn't it??? Goodness)). I never really did much of anything on AO3 tbh, I honestly just go there to write and post my own dumb garbage and then vanish into the aether again

Regardless. I always vibed with the concept of the Ancients and Beasts connecting/strengthening their existing connection through their Soul Jams. But the way I've tried to get around the fact that most of their placements are... cumbersome and don't really lend themselves to that (White Lily's staff and Silent Salt's sword, for example) is, I think of it as... Through the sharing of the Soul Jams, they're all already bound to one another, yeah? So do they NEED to have them be a component in the physical aspect of this? Do White Lily and Silent Salt NEED to have their staff and sword clink together to express that intimacy? Or can they simply embrace each other nice and tight, staff and sword set aside nearby, and their souls can resonate just with that action? The Soul Jam not physically being in their hands doesn't really mean it's left their ownership and they've completely lost access to its power, I don't think; we saw that with how the Light of Abundance refused to answer to Smoked Cheese when he took it, and how Golden Cheese could keep fighting Burning Spice for a while even without it (albeit weaker). So idk if they need the Soul Jams to touch so they can feel closer to each other. I think they've all been naturally imbued with that power at least to some degree and thus don't really 100% need the physical Soul Jams to facilitate that closeness. If I'm already super glued to somebody then not putting my hands on their belt buckle or whatever isn't going to make us any less stuck together ykwim

With that said I like to imagine BS's being particularly sensitive since it's embedded in his chest. GC can press her hand down on it, or lay her head against it, and feel his heart beating through it, if only faintly. Maybe it feels warm to the touch, and grows warmer and shines brighter the faster his heart races. Maybe his breath catches in his throat when she touches it because it feels different there than it does when she touches any other part of his body. Maybe it acts as a cute little nightlight when they're curled up together in bed. Maybe it burns hot like a coal and glows like the fire in a hearth when they're deep in the throes of passion. Maybe, as a charming little gesture, she actually will touch her forehead to his chest so they can listen to that soft little clink that sounds the little kiss Abundance and Destruction shares. Maybe a certain something stirs within them both when she does it, maybe not. But it's cute. They're so in love that even their Soul Jams want to make out. Lol

Also any excuse to put her face in those big strong man titties is 👌👌👌 in her opinion

Alright new Jason Todd headcanons in a dpxdc setting:

Danny is a "liminal" ghost, rather than a "half" ghost. He's alive and dead at the same time. (He's like Jesus Christ (in the church denomination I grew up in), fully ghost and fully human.) Danny, in human form, can go through a ghost shield, because he IS a living human.

Jason, however, is a reanimated corpse. He isn't a ghost, wouldn't have a ghost core, etc, he has a normal human system that runs ON ectoplasm. Jason CANNOT go through a ghost shield, because he is always an ectoplasmic entity. Danny can go through the Fenton Ghost Catcher and be split into a ghost and a human; if Jason went through the ghost catcher, he would straight up die.

(For my purposes I'm gonna say that Jason became an ectoplasmic entity upon his resurrection, but wasn't very stable. Dunking in the Lazarus pit stabilized his system but also poisoned his ectoplasm.)

I do think that Jason could learn certain ghost abilities if he learned to harness his ectoplasm, especially if they detoxed him off the Lazarus waters. He's probably already enhancing his stealth and strength in ways he hasn't really noticed. I think he's held back by the amount of physical matter he's lugging around, so maybe he couldn't fly, but I'm imagining temporary invisibility, or intagibility of like, a limb at a time. Maybe he can't walk through walls, but in a fight he can dodge by instinctively making the targeted part of his body intangible.

Okay I want to say something that is really important to me personally!!! If you make fanart, any kind of fanart that's about or related to a part of a show that has not come out yet (for example a new season)... Then that is still valid fanart once that part of the show is released. Even if the speculating fanart you made can not be canon anymore after the new season is released.

And just as importantly: if you have fanart planned concerning a part of a show that hasn't come out yet, but aren't able to finish that fanart before that part of the show is released, then you should still make that fanart after the new part of the show has come out!!!!

As an example I'll take Squid Game cause that is what I'm currently stressing myself about. I have a lot of fanart ideas that I want to draw or have already started that are speculation on what will happen in season 3. I won't be able to finish or even start most of them before season 3 comes out on friday. But that's okay!! It is totally okay for me to still make that fanart Even If my idea or speculation on season 3 will be proven to be wrong. And that goes for everyone in this fandom. If you have a really cool fanfic idea on how for example In-ho's identity reveal to Gi-hun will go and then the season comes out and it happens differently (which is very likely), then you should still write your fanfic about it!!!

The same goes for fanart that's based on lore that has been updated in the new season.

Also lastly: it's also very cool to make fanart of things that have happened in past seasons and topics that have already been resolved. Just because Gi-hun after season 3 will know that In-ho is the frontman doesn't mean you can't make fanart of him not knowing that anymore. Okay? Okay! Great <3

I love you, keep making great fanart and don't stress yourself because you feel like you need to get all your stuff out there before it can be "disproven". Fandom is about fun and creativity and there is never a point in time where your fanart is "wrong" or "too late" <3
