It's been awhile, but a conversation with my housemates inspired a very silly poll about the problematic fave of TOS episodes:

I'm guessing the censorship logic for the first of these is that Shatner-as-Janice seductively using her feminine wiles to lure a man into committing murder isn't gay, because Janice is a woman who stole Kirk's body and thus it's straight, even though what we're seeing is Shatner doing this in classically campy style.

But the logic of the second is, presumably, that Kirk trapped in Janice's body telling Spock he's closer to him than anyone in the universe and Spock knows his thoughts -> Spock melding with him to confirm his identity -> the two of them running off with Spock holding Kirk's hand/wrist through multiple scene cuts for 25 seconds onscreen (and who knows how long in-story) isn't gay because Kirk is played by a woman at the time.

But personally, I feel you can have "it's not gay if the characters are a man and a woman even if the actors are the same gender" or you can have "it's not gay if the actors are a man and a woman but the characters are the same gender" but not both!

I started playing Veilguard thinking that my favorite character would be Lucanis, the romanceable main companion that the majority of the fandom loves, who gets plenty of appreciation and fan works even beyond his relationship with Rook, only for my favorite to wind up being Tarquin, a much less central character who has a fraction of the posts/fics/art. Such is my lot in life. Understandable.

I started playing Inquisition thinking that surely, this time, my expectation will be accurate. My favorite will be Dorian, the romanceable main companion that the majority of the fandom loves, who gets plenty of appreciation and fan works even beyond his relationship with the Inquisitor.

“you know, the ‘we listen and we don’t judge’ one. people tell their unhinged stories, and we just… don’t judge.”

he smirked, leaning back with his arm lazily draped around her shoulders. “you’re gonna judge them. you’re the queen of side-eye.” “i will not,” she said indignantly, though the hint of a smile gave her away. “come on, it’ll be fun!” “fine.” he adjusted his hoodie and nodded. “but if this gets outta pocket, don’t look at me like it’s my fault.”

she clicked record, grinning at the camera. “okay, so we’re doing the ‘we listen, we don’t judge’ challenge. i have a bunch of these to say. ready?”

“born ready,” he replied, though the confused glint in his eyes suggested otherwise.

she took a deep breath and said aloud “‘i used to fake passing out during pe class so i didn’t have to run laps. one time, they called an ambulance, and i had to pretend to wake up ‘confused’ just to keep the lie going.’”

he blinked at her, then let out a sharp laugh. “nah, that’s crazy. you’re telling me they had the whole ambulance rolling up, lights flashing, for fake fainting?!”

“babeeeeee! we’re not judging!” she scolded, though she was giggling too.

“i’m not judging—i’m… i’m admiring. yeah. that’s commitment. but also, imagine having to keep that up for the rest of the semester.” he mimicked a dazed expression. “‘oh no, i can’t run laps. what if i pass out again?’”

she shoved his shoulder playfully. “stop. your turn”

“okay so one time in high school this girl won’t stop asking me out, so to avoid her i pretended to be nick.” she blinked, shocked at this revealed fact. “…woah?” matt laughed at her stated and gestured her to continue.

“fine so you remember your favourite hoodie that ‘got lost’? yeah well it’s lying in my cupboard right now and i use it whenever i miss you.” she said innocently. matt gasped loudly, “you thief! but it’s kinda sweet actually.”

“moving forward, i became obsessed with your skincare products after you did my skincare once.” he confessed. she let out a huge dramatic gasp hearing this. “so this is the reason i keep running out of the products!”

“hey no judgement.”

“urg so i keep on raiding your secret chocolate sash and blame it on chris every time you ask me” before he could even react and loud “what” was heard behind the camera from the youngest brother. the video cut to next scene where matt sided eyed his girlfriend before he said the last confession of the challenge.

“i download your voicemails and listen to them when i—”

before he could finish the sentence, a flying pillow was thrown his way cutting off the inappropriate thing he was about to say.

“mattew there are children on the app” she gasped. “you said no judging” matt said, faking confusion.

“that was before you broke the rules of decency.” was the last thing the camera could capture.

Here is my list, no order except Minglan is always n1.

The Story of Minglan (2018-2019)

My n1. cdrama is the amazing, too short at 73 eps, The Story of Minglan, a sort of Elizabeth Gaskell meets period China.

It follows three interconnected upper-class families, but more specifically, it is about Sheng Minglan, a concubine-born daughter of a minister and Gu Tingye, the oldest, legitimate, and hated by his family son of a Marquess. Their narratives run largely parallel for the first half of the story and such is the genius of this drama that I, the ultimate romance junkie, did not mind that.

Minglan is a rarity in dramaworld - she is fiercely smart, very collected and emotionally detached. Life in the troubled Sheng household taught her to survive and to hide her feelings and talents. Tingye is a big cdrama love. Abused and reviled by his household where he can do no right (the Marquess hated having to marry his merchant mother for money and has displaced that hate on her son), Tingye manages to keep his warm heart but acquires the ability to go his own way. Both of the protagonists are wonderful and smart and magnetic and rootable for separately, but when they get together, the sparks go off the charts and they become my n1 cdrama OTP of all time. A lot of the story is about family battles, women’s world dilemmas and relationship (of all sorts) interactions. There is also politics and battles, but the true charm of this drama are the mundane details of the world and the fully-fleshed out people who inhabit it. If you watch only one cdrama in your life, make it this one.   

Novoland Eagle Flag (2019)

There might be one or two cdramas I love more, but none that resonates more for me on a personal level. A grim epic with a sprawling cast and amazing sets (money was SPENT on this one), its strength is its theme of the meaning being not in victory but in the fight, of staying true to what you believe despite (or because) the horrors of the world. It's EVERYTHING.

The cast is huge, but it centers around three protagonists - Asule Pasuer, a nomadic crown prince sent as hostage to the civilized yet even more bloody world of the plains, Yu Ran - a full of life princess in exile of the winged people, and Ji Ye - an amazing fighter brought in the gutter. The three become closest friends and we follow them separately and together. There are multiple OTPs, epic battles, clever plots, but at its heart it's a character study. Asule is a pacifist berserker (it makes sense), Yu Ran insists on joy as her shield, and Ji Ye yearns for recognition and status, and the way the world fulfills or warps them is fascinating.

The Rebel Princess/Monarch Industry (2021)

Gorgeously filmed, impeccably acted, and solidly written (where censorship didn’t come for them), this is such an emotional and visual feast and Awu and Xiao Qi are the best OTP I’ve ever seen in dramas (at least for my specific preferences) and feel real.

If you want to see lavish sets populated by smart, fierce, ADULT characters, this one is for you. If you have a competency kink, this one is for you. If you like cinematic-looking epics, this one is for you. If you like a smart, fierce heroine who is also a believably a period aristocratic woman, this one is for you. If you like dysfunctional families and interesting supporting characters, this one is for you. If you like a hero who redefines calm, deadly, and smart yet feels like a real breathing human being, this one is for you. If you like arranged marriage turns to love, this one is for you. If you like amazing OTP which, once they decide to be all in, never waiver from each other, this one is for you. If you are into couples showing affection in a warm way rarely seen in a period cdrama, this one is for you. If you like hot, adult men and hot, adult women, this one is for you.

Fangs of Fortune (2024)

I have rarely seen a drama that speaks to me so personally, but it is also narratively perfect, emotionally devastating, with impeccable acting, complex characters and visuals that are beyond stunning. This is an emotional and visual feast, with such incredible characters, interesting explorations of fantasy and mortality and morality and what makes life worth living. It is also the most eye popping drama I've ever watched as well as throwing me back into what it's like to be immersed into an amazing fantasy book as a kid and the characters and the relationships and the themes sing to me. A miracle.

Joy of Life (2019, 2024)

This is a masterpiece. The first season was perfect and somehow the second is even more perfect. It’s smart, it’s funny, it’s heartbreaking, the cast is still impeccable and Zhang Ruoyun gives a completely jawdropping performance as the focus of all the madness Fan Xian. It really is the rare drama that lives up to the hype.

The Myth (2010)

For the longest time, this was my favorite cdrama, to be replaced only by Minglan. It starts out funny and ends up tearing out your heart. This is the only time in my drama watching experience I cried so hard I threw up. The story is about two accidental time-travelers - a photographer and a cook - who end up in Qin Dynasty China. And from then on it’s about how that cruel, horrifying world takes two perfectly normal men and by wracking their very souls turns one into a hero and the other into a monster. To me, this is Hu Ge’s best performance and as you see his protagonist desperately try to hold on to his humanity and his love in a world that is doing its best to destroy it, I dare you not to cry like a baby. His character is my ultimate cdrama crush.

The Rise of Phoenixes (2018)

Like dramas to destroy you? Come right in. A story about a disfavored prince and a lost daughter of a previous dynasty, this is smart, gorgeous, incredibly acted and is going to wreck you. The schemes and the intensity and the yearning and the....

Yeah, I realize it's seven, whatever. :P

Claudia Strife headcanons

Since I've been writing about (more like obsessing over) Claudia so much for the last few months, I decided to share some, if not all, of my headcanons regarding her! I decided to leave out stuff regarding my otp/oc, but include the facts about her I came up with for my fics and more. I probably forgot about something but it is what it is. I might edit the post later, especially since there's only going to be more of them.

Oh and I'm tagging Cloud and Tifa's mom as well, since there's quite a lot about them.

General

She tends to get very sentimental. She reminisces about the old times quite a lot, has a lot of pics around her house (most of them are of Cloud) and loves looking at old photo albums.

She loved shooting pictures herself. When she was a teen, she had an instant camera she was running around Nibelheim with. Even years after Cloud was born she used to take pictures of important moments.

Aside from cooking mentioned in the canon, she loves sweets and enjoys preparing/baking them.

She gets very happy when she has someone around to talk to (which is kinda rare after Thea's death and Cloud's departure) and to have a partner to cook with, is a dream of hers.

In general, due to getting shunned by the townsfolk for her ambitions to leave Nibelheim when she was a child, losing her husband and Tifa's accident later in her life, she ended up being quite lonely.

Just like the rest of the town, her parents didn't really understand her and her upbringing was rather tough.

Her parents died not that long after her husband, attacked by monsters on their way to visit an extended family, essentially leaving her and Cloud alone in their family home.

She has a very pretty singing voice.

She's adorably flirty towards her partners.

She keeps her hair tied and doesn't wear makeup on a daily basis, being mostly alone or with Cloud. She might subtly style her hair or just keep it loose and do some delicate makeup on special occasions like holidays and dates, though.

Cloud

While learning that she was pregnant at such a young age was terrifying to her, she couldn't wait to have Cloud.

She was the one to choose the name for her child. She decided that if it was a boy, he would be named Cloud and if it was a girl, she would be named Raine.

When Cloud was born, Claudia got some additional help from both Brian and Thea, especially after her husband's death, but after Tifa was born a year later it was Claudia that was helping them however she could.

Just like in his later years, Cloud was a very quiet and a bit different from the rest of the kids and she did everything she could to make sure that he felt loved and accepted.

She always cared about making sure that he felt safe with her, understood and that he can talk to her about everything.

So after Cloud could already talk (already after her husband's and parents' deaths) he was not only the most important person in her life, but also somewhat of a friend - her respite from all the issues she could have. There was a very strong bond between them.

Just like Cloud had her, when Claudia was in doubt or feeling lonely, she knew she had her son around and they became an inseparable duo.

Cloud ended up sleeping with Claudia for quite a long time compared to other children. Often coming to her at night when he was scared or sad for some reason. Claudia didn't mind having her boy to hug, especially whenever her self-esteem was low or some sounds outside made her anxious.

Quite a bit of his toys Cloud got after his mom.

She became quite lonely after Cloud left for Midgar, especially with him not keeping in touch that much and her always wanting to give him the space she felt he needed. His departure was devastating for them both. Seeing him two years later during Nibelheim Incident was euphoric, to say the least.

After Tifa's accident, Claudia dedicated a lot of time and effort to protect Cloud from the rest of the town and his own illegitimate sense of guilt.

Claudia's marriage

Claudia fell in love with her husband and got pregnant rather quickly. He vowed to stay with her and raise a child after he learned about the pregnancy, seemingly throwing away his traveller lifestyle.

Her parents quickly grew to like him, which caused them to give Claudia a break, despite being very upset at her for getting pregnant so young and without marriage.

Still the young couple had to get married before Claudia's due date.

Cloud's dad was rather good to him and Claudia. She remembers him as someone caring and someone she was happy with.

Still, the mystery surrounding his death (no body being found and him going to Mt. Nibel without telling her) and the gossip around town that he "could never settle down" caused Claudia to sometimes have doubts regarding his death. Whenever she was feeling extra lonely and her self-esteem was low, she was wondering if he didn't just leave her and Cloud.

After her husband's death, she never really went back to dating, due to her relations with the townsfolk being rocky from the start and then Tifa's accident happening, causing both her and Cloud getting further shunned by the town. I can't imagine Nibelheim having large population either, nor her really being interested tbh.

Whenever asked by Cloud about his dad, Claudia spoke about him positively, remembering the good times they had together.

Thea Lockhart

She was a few years older than Claudia.

Claudia was friends with her ever since they were kids and she had managed to develop a crush on her in their teens.

Due to her upbringing in a secluded village Claudia brushed off her own feelings as just hormones and platonic love.

Whenever Thea and Claudia were spending time together, so were their children. This only changed after some of Tifa's friends rejected Cloud as the weird one and then Tifa's accident happened.

They were best friends for Thea's whole life up until her death, which Claudia was mourning heavily.

Despite having a strong falling-out with Brian after Tifa's accident (in defense of her son) and their friendship not being the same after that, they visit Thea's grave together on every anniversary of her death.

the rise of red ending we deserved…

okay so hear me out, I was thinking of an alternate ending to rise of red, since the one we got was highly questionable (at best)

so red and chloe go back in time, stop bridget from turning evil, all that stuff right. and then once they come back to the opening ceremony, the queen of hearts does her little card trick and up to this point, everything’s the same.

then red approaches her, happy that their mission worked, and she’s like “mom?” and the queen of hearts turns around to face her, crinkles her brow and goes “oh, I’m sorry, have we met before?”

at the same time, chloe sees her mother’s still alive so she runs up to her to give her a hug. but cinderella turns around, confused, and says, “excuse me? do I know you?” chloe is like “wait what do you mean, I’m your daughter.” and cinderella is obviously shocked, and she’s like “I don’t have a daughter.”

AND THEN the queen of hearts walks over to cinderella, holds her hand, and says, “darling, do you know these two?” to which cinderella shakes her head no.

so basicallyy, since the prank never happened, bridget and ella went to castlecoming as planned and everything. I mean sure, ella danced with charming, but because bridget didn’t get cold and angry and never pushed ella away after that night, like she would have in the original timeline, ella and bridget remained close friends. they relied on each other, with bridget helping ella through her tough family life and ella protecting bridget from uliana.

so they grew up super close and finally, when they’re adults, got married. the movie ends with the realization that now that the prank never happened, neither red nor chloe were ever born.

and then this perfectly sets up the next movie, because red and chloe have to decide what to do. I mean they don’t even exist in this timeline anymore, their own mothers don’t remember them. but the only other option would be to go back in time and make sure bridget becomes evil, but then would it be worth sentencing her to a miserable life of hatred and loneliness, when she has everything she wants now with ella?

guys disney should have done this if they WERENT COWARDS, I mean c’mon it would’ve set up the perfect plot for d5. anyways this is just a silly little headcannon of mine hehe :))

(can you tell I absolutely love this ship? like glasshearts is good, but bridget x ella [is there a ship name for them? if there is please tell me I need to know] will forever be my otp in this fandom. like they would’ve been so good together, ella would have given bridget the world 😭 I actually NEED a scene of the queen of hearts and cinderella singing and dancing to “so this is love” like ella and charming did in the beginning of the movie. disney PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU—)

Satoru was born to be a weapon.

He’s known that ever since he was a child – how could he not, when he was born with such a powerful gift? – but somehow he’s never come to terms with it. He’s never accepted that his only purpose is to be useful, that others will take his technique and push him to become exactly what they want: a godly figure to deter further violence, and an incredible weapon when that violence finally strikes.

He’s in bed, one arm propped behind his head as he stares up at the ceiling in the dark. It’s quiet, and he’s alone with his thoughts, finally understanding just how inanimate everyone must think he is to ask him to go up against Sukuna at Shinjuku. He’s thinking, and he’s mourning.

Until a small sound comes from beside him.

Satoru turns his head, watching as Suguru sighs softly, sleepily. He shifts and rolls over, his hair mussed with sleep. He slowly blinks his violet eyes open, and Satoru just gazes down at him in the dark, staying silent.

Suguru blinks sleepily. “Can’t sleep?” he murmurs.

Satoru shakes his head and turns back to the ceiling. Finding patterns in the uneven textures.

Suguru sighs softly and leans up on one elbow, raising his other hand to gently trace Satoru’s jawline. His fingertips are light on his skin, and Satoru can’t help but shiver. “It’ll be okay,” Suguru says, trying to quell his husband’s fears.

Satoru’s tempted to brush him off, to smile and say “Of course it’ll be okay; I’m the strongest!” But he knows he doesn’t have to act like that around Suguru, doesn’t have to put that mask on for him. So he just whispers, faintly, so quietly no one else in the world will hear him, “I’m scared.”

The words make his chest clench in their truth. He’s never been as scared as he is right now, the night before the Shinjuku showdown, when he’s supposed to go fight the king of curses, who’s also taken his son’s body and made it his own.

Suguru’s heart aches for him, to see the true worry in his eyes. He brushes his fingers over his cheek again, touch lingering comfortingly. “It’ll…it’ll be okay.”

Satoru just slowly shakes his head, turning to finally meet those violet eyes once more. His own ocean blue eyes are tense, drawn, immeasurably stressed. He murmurs, “What if I can’t do it? What if I look at Megs and I just…” He trails off, throat closing.

Suguru still just gently touches his face, trying to keep him grounded. His voice is sad, but determined. “You’ll do what needs to be done, Satoru. And we’ll all be there for you.”

Satoru knows he’s trying to soothe him. It doesn’t work.

Instead, Satoru finally breaks, and that drawn expression shatters into pieces, leaving behind only sorrow and misery. He shifts and buries his face in Suguru’s chest, trying to fight back his tears. His voice cracks when he speaks. “I’m so tired. I want to be done with this, Suguru. I don’t want this life anymore.”

Suguru, once again, aches. “Shh,” he tries to shush him, wrapping his arms around his lean body and pulling him further on top of him. He gently rubs a hand up and down his back. “I know, Satoru. I know.”

His voice continues to waver and break. “After this, I’m done. I’m– I’m retiring. And we’re moving far, far away.”

Suguru can’t help but smile at the idea, the idea of moving away with Satoru and finding some quiet corner of the world to live out the rest of their lives. They both deserve a future like that; they’ve far more than earned it. “Deal,” he says softly, still rubbing Satoru’s back. “We’ll pack up the car, take any of the kids who want to come. We’ll give them a good life, too, if they want it.”

Satoru’s quiet for a moment. Then, he mumbles, “And we’ll just keep driving. And driving and driving, until we’re far enough away that nothing can find us ever again.”

Suguru nods, hugging him a little tighter. “I won’t stop for anything.”

“I want a house in the country,” Satoru continues. “With chickens. And I want to live a life so boring we’ll never know what to do with ourselves.”

Suguru imagines it, the life Satoru says he wants. It’s a quiet life, something he never thought he would ever want, not after they’ve been living in the city for so long, missions and excitement and noise. But he would give Satoru anything he wanted, so he just quietly agrees.

Satoru’s body is slowly starting to relax on top of his. He pulls back a little, tears in those blue eyes, expression softly hopeful. “You’d really run away with me? Leave all this behind?”

Suguru chuckles warmly. “Satoru,” he says, mock-seriously, “you have no idea how many times I’ve thought about just taking off. I won’t be sad to leave it all. Especially for you.”

And so Satoru slowly rests his head back down, and he is finally able to sleep, wrapped tightly in Suguru’s arms. Suguru closes his eyes again, feeling at peace, knowing that once Satoru wins – which of course he will, he’s Satoru Gojo – they’ll be able to take off and never once look back.

They’ll finally get their happily ever after.

💭 How I feel about this character

As I think everyone who has read any of my rambles with reference to Lucrecia is aware, I have a lot of mixed feelings about Lucrecia. She's so callow that she's incapable of advocating for herself where it matters, but so arrogant that she refuses to even engage with the concerns of others. She's consumed with guilt over Grimoire's death, but also doesn't hesitate to use Vincent in the same project that killed his father. She carried a baby to term with no interest in becoming a mother, and when that baby was born she wanted him more than anything—only to eventually realize that she didn't deserve him.

She's so complex it's fantastic; I don't like her as a "person," but as a character I think she's up there with some of the most compelling in the series.

💞 All the people I ship romantically with this character

The only characters I actively ship with Lucrecia are Grimoire and Hojo, both of which are canon even if only one was requited, so I'm pretty boring in that respect. (I do not ship her with Vincent, but that's also canon so I accept that it happened. It just isn't happening anymore.)

🤝 My non-romantic OTP for this character

I cannot express this enough: Shalua. Lucrecia would never believe her work would have a fangirl. I also think Shalua would periodically have to be like "We don't experiment on babies anymore, Dr. Crescent," and Lucy would be like "Right, right, sorry," but otherwise they'd get along like a house on fire.

🚫 My unpopular opinion about this character

Lucrecia Crescent would have been a shitty parent. She'd have been a better option than Hojo, but that isn't saying much. She's self-aware enough to understand this, saying "You can't call me his mother," and she's right. I think Gast also knew it, which is probably one of the many reasons he never let her see Sephiroth prior to running off with Ifalna.

Hojo only got full control of the department after Lucrecia disappeared into the mountains, but I don't think he would have let her meet him either, even once he had the power to allow it, albeit out of concern for the stability of the project rather than out of any concern for Sephiroth's wellbeing as a person. (He did give Sephiroth that photo, though, so sometimes...I wonder.)

🌟 One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

I actually really like Lucrecia's storyline as it is in-canon. The fact that she spent literal years trying desperately to save Vincent, but in the end her final gift to him isn't his life, but her absence from it? That's beautiful. Poetic. Tragic as hell. She's one of the only characters in the entire Compilation who chose her own route to redemption and then stuck to it, and I wouldn't change that a bit.

I would like to see more of her interactions with Hojo outside the Jenova Project. It's not so much something I wish had happened, because we know it did canonically happen, it's just something I'd like to see.

Miklan x Balthus These two are total foils to one another: - Both being first-borns yet disinherited from their House (Miklan did not have a Crest, Balthus was disinherited ~because~ of his Crest) - They both have a younger half brother (Sylvain is Crested vs Balthus's brother is Crestless) who is the heir instead - Both ruining their lives with their own destructive actions (Miklan being a brigand who raids villages, Balthus running into nonstop debt) - Their opposite attitudes towards life; Miklan blames everything on Crests/Sylvain for his grief and lacks that self awareness, Balthus ~knows~ his actions are what led him to where he is now - Their opposite personalities; Miklan is rude and aloof - in Hopes, he values hardwork gets mad when people 'slack off' in his eyes (Ch6 Explore), Balthus is outgoing and friendly - this guy peaked in highschool and blows off every responsibility in life - More headcanon-y as a treat; Miklan wants to beat the shit out of Balthus, but he cant seem to dent the King of Grappling because his Crest goes off and restores his HP, Balthus is more entertained than bothered by this With everything I laid out, put those two in a room together and Consider the hilarious amounts of toxic yaoi between these two

→ RELATIONS

Father: Kel as Mas'tyrr gave everything to his father. Love, devotion, and murder were constants on the altar. And yet… he was still a failure. He begot no bhaalspawn of his own, save one which he slaughtered along with the rest of her line. He swore it was just because he wanted to give his father worthy grandchildren but that wasn’t it. Was it selfishness? A desire to be Bhaal’s only? Who can say now.

When Kel learned of his past, his love had already moved to another and he had none left for the father who abandoned him. He gave Bhaal everything but not a drop of loyalty was returned. Kel could not love a father who did not love him back.

Orin: Kel never saw Orin as his sister. She was an inbred pest that he tolerated. Her insistence that they are siblings irritated him as Mas’tyrr. It implied they were equals, which they were not.

Post lobotomy, Kel hates Orin more than anything or anyone. Traitors are the worst sort of being. Loyalty is a virtue which holds everything together for Kel. Without it, his worldview implodes and he becomes dangerous. Orin (and Bhaal) betrayed him, triggering his cataclysmic wrath.

Foster Family: Kel was placed with a Lolthite foster family as an infant. His foster mother hated her sister and wrongly believed Kel was her nephew who killed her sister in childbirth. Delighted by the humiliating death he gave her sister, the woman took him in to raise him to be a courtesan bargaining chip in Menzo. He didn’t speak until he was six, after his newborn foster brother “disappeared under mysterious circumstances”. His older foster sister was always unsettled by him. When he was 98, his sister plotted to disrupt a carefully constructed social web he had built for himself, disrupting his leverage over several women interested in him. The following night Kel killed and ate his foster mother and burned the family home down. He left Menzo and his “foster sister”, meeting Sceleritas Fel and learning his origins.

Children: While in Menzo, Kelandrin had a single child with a young drow woman who was seeking to rebel against her own precarious situation. The child was born after he left but he was well aware of her existence. Unlike Kel, she and her line were prolific breeders and she continued his bloodline down several generations. Over the next 200 years he would return often to the Underdark to cull this rogue bloodline one by one, eating them as an act of returning Bhaal’s blood to himself.
