Lifetime of semiconductor processing equipment parts can be checked in real time
The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) has successfully developed a system that diagnoses the lifetime of parts used in the semiconductor plasma processes in real time. It is expected that the new system can help preemptively prevent contaminant particles generated by corrosion of components, thereby upgrading the semiconductor yield as well as the stability and cost efficiency of the process. The work is published in the Journal of the European Ceramic Society. The plasma process involves precisely etching the surface of a semiconductor substrate or depositing a specific material using a gas ionized into a plasma state. The plasma process is considered a key process directly related to semiconductor yield because the circuit pattern on a semiconductor device must be precisely and uniformly implemented in the plasma process to achieve the performance targeted at the design stage.

You just know a ship is taking over your life when you have a.) a folder dedicated to content of them, b.) piles of WIP projects (art and writing) that just grow rather than shrink, c.) a 50+ page google doc with nothing but concepts and ideas yet to be made and finalized (with cooperation with a fren, shout outs to u pare), d.) a pinterest mood board full of things that remind you of them / board of inspiration, e.) urges to learn new skills or polish old skills (3d animation and model editing, plush making, sticker making) just for more content of them, and f.) a playlist of songs that just scream "made for them".......... man what is happening to me.....
Anyways, something I made for a playlist I'm curating. I can't decide which one I like more so I'm putting both. I'll reblog this once I finish curating the playlist with a link to it because it only has two songs as of now HAHAHAHAHAAHHA

thankfully a reader asked everyone's blood type (not that Brook needs blood anymore now YOHOHOHO)
anyways, to add onto this, Chopper said that Sanji getting a transfusion would be difficult because S- blood is a rare blood type
so seeing as Usopp and Robin are also S but couldn't donate to Sanji, that means they have S+ blood type, and it's not good for a RH+ blood type to be given to someone with a RH- blood type (however, Sanji is free to give blood to them if they were to need it)
we don't know Luffy or Jimbei's RH factor, but since Luffy's transfusion was successful without difficulty we can assume that they either have the same RH factor, or Jimbei is F- type

Of course, having cake for lunch means that it's probably a good idea to get some exercise afterward, so Alice took over dog-tending duties by taking Shadow out for a nice long jog around the neighborhood! They had a lovely time going over hill and dale and past the community garden (where I took the opportunity to evolve a few plants). Victor, for his part, finished up the harvest, Repairioed everything that was busted around the house, and had himself some fruit pie for lunch before calling up his new best buddy Felipe for a chat (reception was horrible as per the moodlet Victor got afterward, but it was actually a positive "glad to unhook from the modern world" moodlet, so -- yay?); Smiler, for THEIR part, headed upstairs to retrieve all their honeymoon videos out of their drone and start editing them and investigating the trends. Victor moved onto making more candles (his first cylindrical molded candle, in fact) as Alice came back home and, pooped, plopped right down for a nap on the floor --
But what ho, who is this at the door? Why, it's Knox Greenburg, Eco Master! With a request to use the recycler and a promise to share the bits and pieces. Alice got up at his knock and let him know that he was indeed free to use the recycler outside, then went upstairs to have a shower before settling into bed for a PROPER nap -- soon joined by Victor, who was pretty tuckered out after all his early-morning crafting and gardening! Smiler, though, being immune to getting tired, was free to fly downstairs and have an enthusiastic chat with Knox about the important of living green before asking for a drink. Which Knox was happy to give, because Smiler is his friend and just generally awesome. There are many perks to being a vampire with a Pristine Reputation, 10 Charisma, and the "Regained Humanity" bonus trait! :p
After that, it was back to chores -- Victor woke up and checked in on Moory, finding she needed a good brushing and another milking. Unfortunately, he woke up a little too late to do anything about the chickens -- yup, we had another fox steal an egg out of the coop! *grumbles* I suppose I should just be grateful none of them have straight-up killed a chicken yet... Smiler, for their part, took a moment to check Knox's traits before sending him on his way, then fed the cowplant and recycled all the trash in their inventory. Guess that chat with Knox was pretty inspiring! All in all, reasonably typical day around the farm...

In a world first, University of Sydney researchers have developed a chemical process using plasma that could create sustainable jet fuel from methane gas emitted from landfills, potentially creating a low-carbon aviation industry. Methane is a far more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide (CO2). According to the International Energy Agency, the concentration of methane in the atmosphere is currently around two-and-a-half times greater than pre-industrial levels and is increasing steadily, with waste emissions and the burning of fossil fuels accounting for a significant proportion. The research was published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Australia recently joined the international methane mitigation agreement with the United States, the European Union, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

So apparently some Swiss company found out that Brazilian blood has more immunoglobulin (which is used in some medications made by pharma companies) than European blood, and now international pharma companies are lobbying to change Brazilian law to allow them to use our blood as a resource
There is no current evidence that those things are related, but it just so happens that at the same time there is also another law being discussed that would get rid of "bureaucracy" when it comes to ethics analyses of trials on humans. It would also remove the right, which all brazilians currently have, to access to the medication resulting from the trials they participated in
Both sources are in Portuguese because both news have been recently broke by a Brazilian investigative news agency, but if you don't speak it, you can always use automatic translation
I know there's a lot of fucked up shit happening in the world right now, but please pay attention to medical rights in Brasil right now. Especially if you're European, because virtually every company related to this is from your continent and plans to benefit you above all
ETA: using blood as a resource for these medications is not new; however, current law in brasil only allows that use to come from donated blood (because it comes from the plasma and apparently not all of it is used in blood transfusion; I'm not a doctor so I'm not clear on the details but that's the gist of it) and to be processed and used by Hemobrás, the State-owned company that handles this type of medical technology. The new law would allow for private companies to buy our blood from blood banks for their use. It is worth noting that at least one company has already explicitly stated that they won't be making the resulting medication available in the Brazilian market, so, essentially, they will be taking blood Brazilians donated to help other Brazilians and using it to treat immunocompromised Europeans, to the detriment of immunocompromised Brazilians that need the medicine. In the process, they will be making it harder for our State-owned company to use that same blood, forcing us to import from them and therefore making the medication more expensive. They also want to make it possible for Brazilians to sell their own blood - a deeply ethically questionable practice that is discouraged by the WHO and that has led to HIV outbreaks in Brasil in the past
