I have so many favorites in the last 5 years since I've officially gotten into DC.

John Constantine, literally all of the batfam, Connor (because of you and now I have his origin comic and did my first cosplay as him), Johnathan Crane, Harley Quinn and Edward Nygma.

I think the one that holds a special place in my head above all is Richard Grayson. It's a bit basic but he's the one I grew up with and got to see him grow again and again as i got older.

I might get his character wrong but I loved that he's such a mentally strong character who isn't just a happy guy.

I love that he isn't the most intelligent out of the birds and bats but he's made it up in so many ways with his cleverness, wit and compassion. I also loved that he killed the joker, man's not above murder to avenge family and I respect that.

He's a man with a temper and so much emotion that I don't feel ashamed to have a lot like him. He's just a man who's flawed but still keeps going and loves his family. He's my Robin and I just love him to bits.

You don't have to write something for me. Even a hint of an update, the smallest imagine or any post is a blessing to me 🥹💖💖

as much as I love the common "Tim worships/stalks Jason" trope in TimJay fanfiction because it's Good and making Tim a weird little freak is Fun, I think the underutilized dynamic is where Jason is the one weirdly obsessed with Tim and makes it Tim's problem.

Like, the moment Jason is confronted with the information that a third Robin exists, the first thing he does is cover his wall with pictures of Tim so he can just obsess and torture himself over it. That is the behavior of a man who is Unwell over Tim's existence and I love it.

And as much as a shitshow as The Titans Tower Incident™ is characterization-wise (though I think it has far more merit in depicting Jason's character than people give it credit for but I digress-) there's something very fun about the fact that even after kicking his ass, Jason respects Tim and is impressed by him.

And on top of that, Jason can't seem to stop trying to ask Jason to Tim to work with him in some capacity.

batman: battle for the cowl #2

While Battle for the Cowl is an exceptionally bad comic, especially for its characterization of Jason and the "be my Robin" bit is taken deeply out of context, I do think it's interesting how obsessed Jason is with believing that Tim is extremely competent, only held back by being "brainwashed by Bruce". (hence him leaving Tim for dead later on in the comic.) Jason seeing a darker side of Tim and wanting to bring that out of Tim, wanting to see what Tim could be if he let go of his loyalty to Bruce is so fun to me, tbh.

And in Robin #177, Jason seems genuinely upset Tim doesn't want to work with him. Jason sees such a raw potential in Tim and is obsessed with it, constantly wanting Tim to work for him and see Tim be the type of person Jason is. And despite Tim rejecting him, Jason doesn't shoot to kill Tim. I just cannot get over the fanfic potential of Jason obsessing over Tim, tracking him and seeing what he's capable of and what he could be capable of. Wanting to make Tim see things the way he does. To Tim it's corruption, to Jason it's freedom. Tim trying to 'save' Jason is fun and all, but Jason trying to corrupt Tim? That's even more fun to me. Watching that power struggle between them, Tim unable to get Jason off his heels as Jason gets more and more possessive and bold with each attempt.

And when Jason sees Tim successfully get Gotham back under control after a gang war, he's impressed. He praises Tim, even. And then Tim just. Breaks him out of prison.

The way they're constantly trying to see something in the other that isn't there, hoping the other will come around? That is the most fucked up hate/love dynamic ever. Jason keeps coming back to Tim, keeps trying to find ways to get Tim onto his side. They're always chasing each other. And I think Jason would be the one to confess love first, the one to do anything to make Tim his. And when you consider after all of this, Tim has his Red Robin arc and is at his lowest, getting the closest he ever gets to considering murder? I think it'd be so fun to see Jason take advantage of that and worm his way back into Tim's life and finally push Tim over the edge.

It’s just a much more interesting idea to me that there are so many clone troopers in the galaxy they could populate a country and essentially do, that they’re basically their own people who developed their own culture, they don’t need to be Mandalorian in any meaningful way. They’re never portrayed that way in main canon except with the smallest of evidence (Rex’s helmet design or whatever) and it drives me kind of nuts.

Jango Fett sure as shit did not think of the clones as Mandalorian or give a crap about them. You know who gives a crap? Each other. They decided they’re more than an army, they’re the only family they have. It’s a practically universal clone thing that they call each other brothers even though they’re technically not and that’s part of their specific culture.

Going by names they chose for themselves or earned instead of their numbers is part of their culture. So are words like “shiny” and “bucket.” They paint designs on their armor and commonly have identifying tattoos as part of their culture.

In main canon we do see that clones generally think of themselves as Kaminoan humans. Like so many SW species the Kaminoans are simplistically treated in canon as being practically synonymous with the profession they’re known for, cloning, which I think kind of resolves the confusion about how the destruction of Tipoca City and the cloning facilities in TBB is later discussed as a genocidal destruction of the whole species and their home. It really drives home that Kamino isn’t really Kamino without them. They’re the reason those places were built and the vast majority of the people on that world were clones. It’s not a great home to come from but it was a place mostly specific to them where they had each other, the only home they actually knew growing up, unlike the Republic they fought for or Mandalore.

tl;dr who cares about deadbeat dad Jango and whatever “culture” he passed onto the clones.

let it be known that i love prince inigo with my whole soul. however sometimes it is SO much fun to think about owain and his two most loyal-est knights you ever seen: worst guy in the world #1 and worst guy in the world #2. i love retainer inigo and severa so much. retainers who bully you and make fun of you and trash on you but they’d leave behind everyone and everything they ever knew to follow you and protect you in a whole new universe. they love you so much that they’d swear allegiance to total strangers but that loyalty pales in comparison to what they’d do for you. and they were all lovers!!!!!!!

Hi, i know you said you're unable to do paid requests, but i was wondering if i could pay for the existing 3 chapters of MariPav. I saw you deleted them, and i really liked them.

Please, you really, really don't have to pay me... Not for an unfinished comic... I'm also very sorry that my actions pushed you to feeling like you might have to pay to have them restored...

To be devastatingly truthful, while it pains me to chose this, given how much I myself was counting on finishing this comic...

...Given the massive length (150 pages of script!!) of the story, plus the fact that I will have less time for complex, focused art over the next year, minimum, (...though, again, I want to clarify that my situation in general is BETTER than it was before) plus my wavering feelings on Magolor's post-remake backstory and characterization (...that *frustratingly* invalidated MOST of what I wrote about him in this story) it's time to admit that I will not be able to finish drawing Marionettes' Pavane. I know. I know...

...However, given that the written text of MariPav IS complete (and has been for a while) I am currently compiling the pre-existing chapters + extras with the remaining, unpublished script (ideally, I want to make a few extras for that too, but we'll see) into one large, unified document.

Unlike before, I will be keeping this one up, seeing how this will be the complete "Marionettes' Pavane." I know it's a huge downgrade from a full-blown comic...However, I have had a few friends read over just the script on its lonesome before, and, based on their positive comments, I think it may just stand as a good read all on it's own.

(You all seem to like my writing enough ^^ )

Even if it's not illustrated in the big, dramatic, showy, passionate, paneled stylings of my favorite manga that influenced me so much as child, it is still my big heartfelt treatise on the Marxolor ship.

(And if you love angst + people suffering/dying for each other, oh boy... >w<)

Part two rosekiller prompt| Part One

"Have you seen Barty?!" Regulus looked up startled, his eyes wide and his heart beating rapidly in his chest. He stumbles out of his bed and stares at Evan for a moment, still startled from the abrupt entrance.

Evan had burst through the door with no warning, his presence startling Regulus. He quickly slammed his curtains close behind him and gave Evan an annoyed look

"Weren't you supposed to be on a date with him? At the lake?" He responded annoyed, his eyebrow raised.

Evan scowled and pointed a finger at him almost accusingly.

"He just fucking said I love you and ran off before I could respond."

Regulus' mouth drops open, his eyes widening. He sputtered for a moment stepping away from his bed and staring at Evan in shock

"He what!?" Regulus wasn't sure what he wanted to do more, rip his hair out and hex Barty or laugh manically and maybe take a nap for a week.

"A-and I can't find him. Merlin you should've seen his face Regulus- he looked heartbroken...I have to find him."

He shook his head and swiveled around to leave, his fists clenched at his side. Regulus watched him go, his mind still racing. Barty always acted before thinking.

Silence reigned in the dorm room for a moment before his curtains moved back behind him. Regulus slowly turned to the bed with pursed lips and a troubled expression.

"Think he saw me?" James asks before biting his lip. His hair is disheveled, his glasses crooked, his clothes wrinkled and half way off.

Regulus sighs heavily

"Shut up-" he pushes James down again with a smirk.

Pandora stuck her tongue out as she stared at the potion in front of her, her concentration fully on the cauldron. She blew a piece of hair out of her face and tried not to let the sweat rolling down her temple distract her more than it was already doing.

Carefully, with steady hands, she dumped a few more quail eggs in the cauldron. As she stepped back from the giant puff of steam she heard the door burst open behind her

She didn't bother looking over, she knew Evan was stomping towards her. She carefully pulled her gloves off and threw them in the trash as she turned towards her twin

"Try that abandoned charms classroom, from third year.." she murmured softly

She looked at her gasping twin who looked as if he'd been running everywhere, which she's sure he has been. He took a moment to catch his breath before stalking closer and placing a kiss on her forehead

"Will it work out?" He murmurs almost hopefully, it's a stupid question. She gives him a small blank smile

He sighs with a nod, even as she answers they both know what she's going to say

"With endless possibilities I am not sure, even if I was I cannot tell you as it could change the outcome. I wish you nothing but luck though.." she tilts her head to the side and let's him go.

He misses the smile that graces her face as she turns back to the boiling concoction.

Evan slams the classroom door open, his chest heaving up and down rapidly. His eyes scan the room quickly and it doesn't take long to find Barty.

Barty lays on top of the teachers desk, his limbs hanging off around him. It looks wildly uncomfortable but Barty never failed to do the same exact thing each and every time anyways.

"You don't have to come comfort me...it's fine Evan." He murmurs. He doesn't turn towards Evan at all, just stares at the ceiling blankly

"Unless you're Regulus or Pandora coming to comfort me because Evan pities me enough to send someone else.."

He glances over and sighs in a resigned tone, his eyes and nose are red, his hair messier than usual. He had probably been pulling at it, running his fingers through it.

"Well...get it over with then...reject me properly."

Evan stands in front of the open door for a moment catching his breath and trying to figure out what to say.

Inhaling deeply he steps further into the classroom and lets the door shut behind him. He pulls the confidence out of thin air and shoves it down his throat, he couldn't fuck this up.

"No. I don't think I will." He tries for nonchalant, isn't sure he succeeds.

Bartys head snaps back to the side to see Evan again. He sits up slowly with a frown, his legs swinging over the edge of the desk.

"What- Evan-"

Evan steps forward causing Barty to stop speaking. Evan rolls his shoulders, steels his mind for battle and forces his feet to keep going.

He doesn't stop until he's right in front of Barty.

"You're an idiot." He starts out with

Bartys mouth falls open in shock, he sputters for a moment his eyes showing betrayal

"I didn't even get to answer before you ran off you absolute troll." Evan huffs and crosses his arms

He raises an eyebrow down at Barty and steps closer, now in between Bartys legs. Barty, who previously had his hands folded in his lap, snatches them to the side nervously and leans back on them. He eyes Evan curiously, still too nervous to speak though.

"I.... I love you Barty." Evan says suddenly nervous. He uncrosses his arms and looks away from Barty's face, he can feel his eyes on him even as he tries to ignore it.

"You didn't wait for me to fully answer....I love you and you only. You are the only person who has ever made me feel this way. I didn't want-ugh...you make this so hard."

Evan curses Barty out in his mind as he tries to fumble together some form of a sentence

"You can't just drop a bomb like that and run off-" he huffs and slowly looks back to Barty

Barty stares at him stunned, his lips parted in surprise. Evan shuffles nervously, he feels himself flush red as Barty just stares at Evan incredulously. He stands his ground as best as he can.

"Stop staring dumbass-"

Barty grabs Evans hand after a moment of hesitation, quickly cutting off anything he was about to say

"Do you mean it?" He whispers, his fingers slide to Evans wrist and he squeezes. Evan shivers at the warmth of his hand, his eyes trained on the spot where their skin connects.

Evan doesn't pull back, let's him grip him as Barty stares up with wide eyes and hope glistening clearly inside them.

"That you're a dumbass? Yea I really do-"

Barty tugs at his wrist and pouts slightly

"Don't ...please answer."

Evan looks down at their hands again, biting his lips at the sight of Barty's hand that always has chipped nail polish and ink doodles across the back.

"Yea...I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it. I wouldn't play with your feelings like that..."

Evan looks up through his lashes for a moment, his head tilted down. Barty inhales sharply and tugs him forward

Their breaths mingle, they make eye contact, Evan breathes out and watches as strands of hair fly back. He knows he's looking at Barty through half lidded eyes, he can't help moving closer, too magnetized by the boy in front of him.

Barty nuzzles closer and their noses bump, Evan scans Barty's face, his eyes tracing every small detail. He was a sight, he always was. Always disheveled looking, always looking like a menace to society...

"May I?-"

Evan knocks their heads together, ignores the throb on his forehead from doing so and cups Bartys face

"Yea dumbass, kiss me." He whispers

He barely finishes his sentence before Barty is on him. It can hardly be called gentle, they had waited for so long, too long. There was teeth, there was bruising pressure, it was perfect.

Evan let his hand go to Barty's hair, his fingers sliding through and tugging lightly, barty groaned and almost tilted over when Evan pulled back. Barty stayed hunched forward, his head resting against Evans chest. He heaved in breath after breath, as if he had run a marathon. They both gasped for air, the kiss was short and yet it had Evan light headed.

Barty's fists were clenched on Evans shirt, his knuckles white.

He let out a hoarse whimper before pulling Evan closer again. Evan could feel the pressure of Barty's head on his stomach now, it was a comforting weight.

Evan breathes deeply, his hand gently running through Barty's hair soothingly. He could still feel his galloping heart, and could barely hear anything over it.

"Please tell me this is real...that this isn't a dream?" Barty murmures almost brokenly

Evan stopped, his hands twitching. He closes his eyes for just a second, his heart aching, before answering

"This is real, this isn't a dream...I swear it isn't." Evan forces Barty's head up and sweeps the hair off of his face. Cupping his face between his hands he makes Barty look at him

"This is real sweetheart." He murmures softly

"This is real.." Barty says back.

He presses a gentle kiss to the side of his mouth, more on his cheek than his lips.

"This is real.." he murmurs once more before pulling back fully.

Like I've never read the original mirage comics and I've never seen someone who says they're a fan of the original mirage comics which is weird cuz they're the original but I've just never seen one so I get told information and I have no idea if it's true or not and then I look it up and sometimes IT IS

Like what do you mean that April wasn't real and was made by like a magic pen but also saw this by becoming like a cockroach and traveling into the past or some crap like that and might just disappear at any time??? What do you mean she like runs away after finding out this information and then gets like attacked by a bear or something and then becomes like a vigilante??? What do you mean Casey just adopts a child in the meantime???

What do you mean the Shredder's killed in the first issue by Leonardo just straight up decapitating him immediately but then it's brought back by the foot clan feeding his corpse to worms and now he is the worms before he's killed again??? What do you mean by splinter is just a regular rat who just like lived for 15 years like just like that??? What do you mean splinter just raised the turtles to specifically kill the shredder and like not much else?????? What?????

What do you mean Donatello witnesses the actual real life comic artist Jack Kirby get like sucked into a dimension of like his own creations and then just has to like accept that that happened??? first of all thank u for replying to my ask~

i just have a question to ask since it's been bugging me but--

i want to know your thoughts on xiao? like, your characterizations, headcannons, something

i've been progressing my friendship with him and i've been reading all of his character stories. i just want to hear about him from your perspective because i feel like you get people/characters really well~

Oooh honestly Xiao is a hard one. I do a lot of my analyses based upon the performance of the voice actor and what is said, but the EN directors really jumbled Xiao's personality and translation at first making him come across as much more moody than he is meant to be. A lot of his true personality is hidden solely within the CN text, not properly translated into English.

That being said, it's hard to put into words exactly, but my reading on him is that he's a very tired and weary person. He's lived a long life. He is devoted to his duty. But at the same time, I don't think he'd necessarily fight and try to deny death if it came his way. So many people he has loved and have fought by his side have left. He's the last one of his kind. He's running on borrowed time. Let the boy rest.

At least, that's the vibe I got from Xiao before he met the Traveler. The person he shows to the Traveler is different. This is a Xiao hesitantly opening himself to the outside world. One that's not blocking out everyone that comes his way. While I wouldnt say that he's necessarily "curious" about humans, he's become more.......... Idk the right word. I wouldn't say "accepting" of them because he's never denied them. But he's not as quick to put up a wall.

On other notes though, this is more personal headcanons, but I feel that Xiao is a very pure and earnest person. Like I think back to that Lantern Rite where Zhongli tells Xiao to try out a kite (most likely to get him to relax and enjoy life a bit) and Xiao took it as an assignment and relayed his thoughts dutifully. I feel if you ever ask Xiao to do something as a joke, he probably would still do it to his very best.

At the point in Xiao's life now, I feel that he's like....... Slowly learning how to enjoy life. Flying kites, writing poems, enjoying food, remembering past friends—it's like for the first time in his life, he's doing things for himself, not his duty. And I think this is something he's never had before, even when the rest of the yaksha were around. Back then they gave him happiness. Now he's finding it on his own. Learning to have something to live for. Learning that he is actually a person and not a machine. Learning that he has the right to live.

At least that's my take on him. Admittedly I haven't done much of a study on him recently. There may be things that I have off because I'm going off solely from memory. Do you have any headcanons on him? I'd love to hear your thoughts to shape mine more. o3o

Writers like to play with Alder being old-fashioned, usually with regards to courting (even though the point of the witches' Pagan background is to reject that mindset and embrace queer shamelessness, but whatever), but one aspect I have yet to see anyone acknowledge is the older attitude towards war. Abigail's beliefs about glory did not come from nowhere, she absorbed them from the role models around her, from those highest up trickling down. She walked into Alder's office in the pilot, thinking based on her past experiences with Alder that her description of Raelle would garner Alder's sympathy. Alder herself speaks of glory many times during the show, including in contexts that make it clear that it is genuinely her personal belief, not just public propaganda for morale's sake. Her rebuke to Abigail was not that Raelle could offer other things besides being a soldier, but that everyone could rise to military excellence. In her opening speech in 1x1, she says that her deal with the Massachusetts Bay Militia was that "we will win your wars". Not defend, win. An emphasis on offense, on beating the opponent. Not a maintenance of peace, but a support of active conquest. Alder may have helped the creation of the Cession, but all of that land had to be taken by the US in the first place in order for them to be able to cede it. I will grant that there are more modern phrases in both 1x1 and her speech through Wade in 1x9. "to protect and defend" "to serve and defend" "cooperation, protect, restore peace" And yet, what are those sentiments surrounded by? "wipe the Spree from the face of the earth for good" "There is no middle ground. There is only one side now." "eliminate a threat with decisive finality". And, uh, while it may be tasteless to make comparisons to recent events in our world, this literally happens right after Alder had her soldiers do the opposite of rescue hostages in favor of killing the enemy, and then lied to everyone about who were the perpetrators. This isn't Alder bashing. What I'm saying is that I want to see a portrayal of Alder in fanfic that stays true to this characterization, that she comes from an era where the horrors of war only added to the glory one gained from them, where military commanders led from the front and relished the opportunity to triumph over their opponent. Where performance on the field was the standard by which they measured their respect for others. It's okay that Xena got to have excited smiles of anticipation about her fights. Alder focused the Accords on a specific purpose, rather than allowing for any other application of their powers (e.g. manufacturing, construction, agriculture, medical), because she herself much more prefers the scourge to the plow. There is zero indication in any second of canon, especially in season 1, that Alder was tired of the fight. At most she was annoyed that others kept trying to hold her back. To her, being a soldier is empowering.
