i think the end of the day, a vast majority of “queer discourse” boils down to “(queer experience) doesn’t match My queer experience so it’s wrong. i will moralize this and imply that living this experience is negative and (queer experience)phobic” and it’s so pointless and it completely swallows up people because it’s easier to blame others for being happy than trying to figure out why you aren’t when you try to emulate the Correct Queer Experience.

but like. if a queer person is alive and living in joy they are the correct queer experience.

i feel like a lot of people have the need to apply a “prerequisite” to transition or using a gender label or just like. Being Allowed to Try Things Out. the need to validate and prove these feelings can come from a good place but at the end of the day if you feel like you need others’ approval to be yourself, you might need to step back and wonder why you need to feel like you have to prove it, and who you’re proving it to.
