When Sigma Seventeen find Breakdown, he's only just now regained a sense of consciousness in this spirit, halfway-to-faded-away-to-nothing form. So he's the same bot he was on that fated mission to take out Airachnid.

He still thinks the war is going on, that the Rescue Bots are more reinforcements for Optimus, and that the Nemesis is still flying around Earth's atmosphere with Megatron's army aboard, and nothing these Autobots say is gonna convince him otherwise.

But Knockout, on the other hand...

He's an autobot medic now, he's got a position on the Cybertronian medical council now, he's a parent now. He sees things in an entirely new way than he did the last time BD saw him.

Returning to the Smokescreen and Magnus thing!

One of the many reasons that Smokescreen is having such a great time compared to canon is that no one is suspicious of him! He didn't arrive in a Decepticon escape pod, rather, he arrived with a well known member of the Autobots!

It should be noted that as excited to meet the whole team as Smokey is, Wheeljack does. not. like. him. Mainly because Wheeljack does not like Magnus. And right here is (in his eyes) a Mini Magnus! Anyway, Wheeljack desperately wants to dropkick the child.

There's a fun variation of this (which includes a card game that i, personally, will not be talking about yet) where Wheeljack gets Smokescreen into gambling to spite Ultra Magnus. This backfires horribly because unlike his Gen 1 counterpart who cheats to win, Prime Smokescreen is naturally good at gambling. Wheeljack does not win. And Smokescreen gets the gambling addiction that is his birthright. Magnus is absolutely furious with the Wrecker.

Will I add the gambling subplot in? I dunno. It's a fun idea and Smokescreen gets to have even more fun while the rest of the cast suffers. Wheeljack and Magnus the most.

Knockout is the type of person to huge Breakdown from behind and rest his head on his back. He also kisses Breakdown on his cheek and neck while he hugging him.

YESYESYES!!

Knock Out likes to come behind Breakdown when he’s on desk duty and just lean over his back. He can kiss and nuzzle his neck, whisper into his audials. It’s one of the only times during the day they are relatively level so it’s easy reaching around him. Breakdown doesn’t mind at all, even if he gets a little flustered from the kisses and Knock Out’s flirty words. He still leans back into the loose hold. It’s comfortable and soft. Breakdown doesn’t often get to be held so he really enjoys it in a casual easy way.

At night, Knock Out likes to be the big spoon, jet packing himself on Breakdown’s back and dragging his claws lightly over his shoulders, kissing his cheeks and top of his helm. He likes to dote on Breakdown, likes to feel him in his arms. Breakdown enjoys the warm, likes when Knock Out falls into recharge behind him and can feel his engine humming and vibrating across his back strut, hear the little murmurs of Knock Out mumbling in his sleep.

Especially since Knockout is technically supposed to be Bumblebee's foil; Breakdown Reflects Bulkhead, and Knockout Reflects Bumblebee

(now, my post tfp knockbee thoughts take SOME inspiration from rid15, but don't loyally follow the rid15 timeline— that make sense??)

Basically: mutual angsty post war hurt/comfort about grief and change, but ultimately healing too
