I hc that she got her cutie-mark when cheating on the test for Mal's sake, coming in contact w her power for the first time but shutting it down for the sake of a loved one. - Alina was originally an earth pony, altho I'm undecided if she got both her horn and wings the first time she summoned light, or if she initially just became a unicorn and got her wings later down the line, probably when she destroyed the Fold. - Decided to make both book!Alina and show!Alina :>

It really, REALLY depends on who it is.

The mer-boys are extremely territorial - including over the very few they allow remain in their home. If it’s someone they recognize as ‘theirs,’ then Moondrop would probably make some “discreet” moves to save them, leaving them on the bay confused and tired as all hell.

Sunrise is a little different, as in he’ll just swim right up and grab ya. YOUR problem if you get scared.

More questions If that's ok, because I love knowing more. So it was a random thought was, ok if it's raining- would Penny just be nothing but liquidity or what would happen or what does she do? Would she not go outside? Need to cover herself up with stuff? Or just gets a bit more liquidity then other water contact?

Another one is so...has she interacted with royal Dandy or was this after... *COUGH COUG* the accident... XD because part of me was wondering if she would 'eat him' (absorb him) even if it was by accident? (A little off topic? My brain was also going what would Dandy be able to do like questioning if he could 'do the same' and wondering how the absorbing would even work...)

Honestly it completely depends, since Penny can be made of any kind of paint. Acrylic is easiest to come by, so that's what she uses most, but she can also use oil, watercolor (though not ideal), or whatever.

Though if she is using acrylic, her paint instead dilutes when absorbing the water. Now, she can't have an infinite supply of paint on her person, so when she has too much it instead just drips out of her body. So basically she wouldn't really liquidify, but would lose a lot of her pigment and make a mess. So, she doesn't really like the rain (she prefers her colors bright), and avoids it best she can. It makes water one of her main weaknesses, as she doesn't find it fun to be colorless and pretty much shoot water out of her hands (though it is possible.)

Now, she has briefly met Royal Dandy, and let me tell you. He is the ONE THING she hates more than Pretty Princess. Which is unfortunate, because when she heard that there was another art piece that was brought to life, she was excited! But, she sees he has NO respect for the arts, and frankly finds him super annoying. She considers him a copy cat, especially when he's not NEARLY as cool as her (her thoughts), and there's nothing she hates more than someone LIKE HER gaining attention. He doesn't seem to have the same bubbling hatred in return though.

Now, I don't think Penny would absorb Royal Dandy unless he was made out of purely wet paint. She probably would if she could though. She probably briefly considered ruining the painting so he wouldn't come back, but she convinced herself that the art and it's history was more valuable then getting her revenge.

HI!!! i know you said now and it's been a few hours but we'll put it up to time zones. anyway, i was thinking about this ask and ultimately it's that quote from dan in that interview, right? "best friends, arch enemies, husbands, business partners, partners in crime, soul mates, just mates, who the fuck knows?"

obviously it's antagonistic, but on spongebob's part, it's unintentional (my knowledge is rusty, and i'm not fully caught up on spongebob, though i've seen a few squidbob moments from more recent eps) and when he does hurt squidward, he genuinely feels bad about it – when he picks up on it, at least. but, like, when squidward says spongebob has hurt his feelings or when it's really obvious, spongebob takes accountability and tries to right his wrong(s). even if that means making the situation worse, lol

AT THE SAME TIME, yes, squidward can really hurt spongebob and even enjoys seeing him hurt, but he understands when things have gone too far, and it seems to me like he doesn't just want to be in spongebob's good books for the sake of his reputation. take "fools in april" for example: squidward really hurts spongebob with his "prank" and it's a very public prank where people make clear their disapproval of his actions. of course, no one wants to be seen as the huge asshole, and squidward even says "it hurts, doesn't it?" to plankton when plankton becomes the most hated thing in bikini bottom. BUT when squidward apologises to spongebob, while he struggles, it's clear he wants to (he just physically can't) and he doesn't know everyone else is at spongebob's house. he genuinely just wants spongebob to like him again. (plus, he finds it humiliating when it's revealed other people are there – clearly, it's not about reputation)

the other obvious one is "dying for pie" where he puts spongebob's life in danger and realises he doesn't want to be responsible for spongebob's death nor does he really want spongebob to die at all.

it's also insanely cute to me that he's, like, as far as i know, the only one who calls spongebob "sponge" – i don't think i've heard any other character refer to spongebob like that . . . except maybe patrick? but i might be confusing it with a – you guessed it – squidbob scene.

also the way squidward's voice goes all soft when he calls "spongebob sponge" :') and how he's protective of spongebob too. like in "pizza delivery", when the customer is rude to spongebob and spongebob sobs, we can infer squidward KNOCKED THE GUY OUT!!!!! and he went back over to spongebob and reassured him that the customer was happy with the order and everything was ok :)

squidward also gets flustered when spongebob compliments him and spongebob likes it when squidward is having fun. i think deep down, they both genuinely care for each other, and they both want the other to be happy, they just have different ideas of happiness and aren't sure how to get them to align. there's really great potential there, and i personally love relationships like theirs where it's just so fucked and they're more prone for divorce but they keep remarrying anyway

sorry for this mostly focussing on squidward . . . spongebob is a bit more complicated to me bc he's a mix of childish and mature and you're never entirely sure when which facet will be more prominent. ultimately though i think they have the potential to balance each other out but still have a good time together (as in, they won't settle right into "BORED old married couple"). when i have more thoughts on spongebob's side of the relationship, i will let you know o7

i know this spawned from the "to be loved is to be changed" post tags, but for squidbob's part i feel i was mostly joking or i probably made a tblitbc comment while watching spongebob with my irl and i've forgotten why, LOL – let me think on it some more and let me watch more of the show, and i'll get back to you on that. :)

I think we as a society moved on too fast from jiaxus confession scene.

first, the setting itself was so intimate, within there own home and night, just the both of them and we need to take in the previous scene into context which is the scene where sang zhi confesses her long time crush and admiration.

NOW. he says I love you, in the most tender, tender way possible. he says it, while looking at her like she’s the whole entire fucking universe and that’s because she IS /HIS/ whole entire fucking universe BUT THATS NOT WHERE IM COMING WITH THIS, it’s how he apologizes for hurting her and making her cry when we all know, he has nothing to do with that, it wasn’t intentional but it’s the way he still apologizes and promises that he’ll make it up to her, and protect her future.

'wah wah everywhere is falling to the right wing the whole world is doomed' literally like 6 months ago we were talking about how there was a trend in countries getting rid of their right wing governments. poland at the end of last year, france voted in a unified centre left/left alliance, even the UK finally got rid of the tories after 15 years (right wing splitting be damned, it still happened). outside of europe, bangladesh removed a dictator in like 2 seconds, india may have reelected their Evil Guy but on a DISTINCTLY reduced majority, theres been queer rights successes in thailand, with gay marriage set to be legal by 2025, and thereve been positive court cases on it in japan. and this is just stuff i vaguely remember hearing about. im sure theres more if you care to look for anything aside from more reasons to make yourself miserable

the US has a distinct effect on everyone, so this won't be fun for anyone (least of all its population. sorry guys), and there ARE a lot of people sliding into right wing extremism, but presenting this like its an unchallenged worldwide phenomenon is inaccurate, its damagingly bleak, and all it does is encourage despair and apathy. you DO have political power, and you shouldnt forget that just because of bad election results and the media's desperation to make you lose hope
