I’m reading the novel, so you ought to expect some yapping. Nothing serious like an analysis or review (not smart enough for it), just a bit of rambling.

The ‘97 miniseries ends with the start of the novel (about dreaming Manderley, ect…), they probably wanted to keep the story more linear instead of having a big flashback.

While reading (I have yet to read the part taking place in Manderley), I’ve noticed that they have kept some lines from the novel, which is nice.

There’s much more introspection about the protagonist, which is to be expected, because doing something similar would require much more hours than the measly 3 of the series, tho I was surprised by the fact that her self doubt and feelings of not being worthy where present even before going to Manderley… I don’t think that this is really clear in the series, but maybe those remarks about Maxim treating her like a child (not present in the book) were meant to substitute this element. Interesting because yes, she’s MUCH younger than him (like 20/21 years? if I’m not mistaken) and yes, they are from wildly different backgrounds, but one thing is going out together and the other is getting married and moving (like… I felt deeply uncomfortable and out of place participating in a simple ball, just imagine her going to a place like that, living there and having all these expectations to be like the beloved late Mrs de Winter and always being compared to her)

I also like the fact that the looming presence of Rebecca is felt much before going to the place itself thanks to the book with the signature (the writing, the nickname exclusive to her). A bit sad how they have not included her burning the page with the inscription.

Maximilian is such a strange chap, she loves him, tho it is true that he has never said the same thing to her, muttered the words - I mean. It is also true that she knows so little of him, he’s basically a stranger and the got married so fast. Married a stranger…

I’m enjoying this novel :) <3

I’ve heard that people thought that Charles Dance was too old for the role of Maxim in ‘97, so here is this stupid thing:

I've taken up the hobby of learning how to ice skate and it has come with a few injuries but not bad ones

My favorite musical is phantom of the Opera and I've seen it once and own the movie and the 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert hall recording

I used to be in too many fandoms and they have cut down because they are WAY too toxic (honestly what fandom isn't)

Yet after his mysterious death, which was rumored to be a strategic zombie ambush, Atlas's legacy is left in the paws of his widow, Mitzi. Though with the zombie populace gaining more and more each day, Mitzi, and the Lackadaisy as a whole, must defend the once glorious speakeasy from ruin. Despite the ever increasing threat of the zombies, including the various rival gangs, and crooks, dotting the surrounding St. Louis area...

Because of the misunderstanding between Amourshipping and Pokeshipping I will praise the queen of Celulan and Kalos Queen ever and forever ✨🥹

This helps me deal with the fact that I love both characters very much. Since this fight will never stop, at least I can carry on as if nothing is happening. I know they'll keep hating, so spreading the word as often as I can about how much I love them is my way of "escaping reality" I guess.

Man I really feel so good when I look at the sagas in a way to clear my mind, it makes me feel renewed like the world is far away. I'm in my world getting ready to enjoy everything that Pokémon characters have to offer without giving room for judgment for a moment.

Started getting into Genshin Impact (don't hate me!) lately to keep myself busy and the more I play, the more I thank God for the DR character designs. They're so cohesive and actually pretty simplified and tailored to the character. Like, I like the Genshin characters but my God, they are overly cluttered, detailed designs.

Starfield ng+ could be a great meta game system, like in one of travelings to Unity you get greeted not by yourself but someone from TES or Fallout or other Bethesda and/or xbox games and you can just start playing that game from there... if you want to get back you can choose going back to starfield from some menu. And then you get some new options in dialogues bragging you've been to totally different worlds and experience stuff so incredible (but nobody really believe you not even other Starborns lol)

it probably requires game pass but...hey, that's a good business opportunity and Xbox should consider it.
