Thinking about Thalia Grace. Thinking about Thalia losing her little brother when she’s nine. Thinking about Thalia running away and meeting Annabeth Chase a few years later, a tiny blond girl around the same age her brother would have been if he’d still been alive.
Thinking about Thalia starting to see Annabeth as a little sister.
Thinking about Thalia sacrificing herself to save Annabeth and Luke like she could not save Jason.

PLEASE PART TWO OF THAT NICO DI ANGELO FIC
I'm not even a fan nor do I know anything about the PJO series but that.. THAT fic makes me wanna start reading it
Sword Fighting Pt. 2 (Nico Di Angelo x Son of Aphrodite)
Part 1 can be found here, however, you don't need to read it to understand this.
tags: love confessions, Nico being overprotective, near-death experience, takes place during The Blood of Olympus, reader is injured (badly)

Time was something demigods rarely had, and Nico di Angelo had lived long enough to know that it always slipped through their fingers. He never planned to reveal his feelings for you, the son of Aphrodite, but as Gaea rose from her slumber and the earth itself raged in the final battle, regret gnawed at him.
He should’ve told you.
The battlefield was a maelstrom of chaos—monsters falling, demigods fighting with every last bit of strength they had left. The air was thick with dust and the stench of death, but through it all, Nico’s eyes sought you. You moved like a whirlwind, graceful and deadly, wielding your twin blades with a skill that defied your heritage.
Even now, in the heart of war, there was a terrible beauty to how you fought—fluid, precise, unstoppable. Nico's breath hitched as he watched you, his heart pounding in a way that had nothing to do with the battle around him. He had seen many things in his life—gods, monsters, and the depths of the Underworld—but he'd never seen anything as beautiful as you.
For a moment, it seemed like the battle was turning in their favor. The monsters were thinning, their numbers dwindling under the combined might of Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. Nico’s heart pounded with a glimmer of hope. Maybe—just maybe—they had a chance.
Then it happened.
As the demigods paused to catch their breath, thinking they had won, a final foe—enormous, armored, and ancient—rose from the shadows, roaring with fury. The beast lunged, aiming straight for Hazel, its jagged weapon raised for a killing blow.
You didn’t hesitate. Without a second thought, you threw yourself between the beast and Hazel. Nico saw it as if in slow motion—how your eyes flashed with determination and your blade shone in the sun as you swung to kill the beast before a sickening crunch echoed across the battlefield. You had saved Hazel, but you had also been stuck, crumpling to the ground, your blood spilling across the earth.
“No!” Nico’s voice tore through the chaos, a raw cry filled with panic and horror. He barely felt his feet moving as he sprinted toward you. He reached your side in what felt like an eternity, falling to his knees beside you. Blood stained through your armor, dark and thick, pooling beneath your body. Your face was pale, lips quivering as you struggled to draw breath.
“Nico…” you gasped, your voice barely a whisper, eyes fluttering.
“No, no, no stay with me.” Nico pleaded, his hands trembling as he pressed them against your wound, desperately trying to stop the bleeding. Around him, the other demigods rushed to your side—they moved quickly, but it felt agonizingly slow to Nico. The son of Aphrodite was barely conscious as Percy and Jason lifted him gently, careful not to jostle his broken form too much.
Hazel, pale with guilt and worry, led the way back to the makeshift camp they had set up behind the front lines. It was a patch of relative calm amidst the chaos of war, but Nico’s heart hammered in his chest like a storm.
“Will!” Nico screamed, his voice tight with fear. The blond healer turned around and paled upon seeing your state—ushering Percy and Jason to lay you in an empty bed.
“This is bad,” Will muttered, his voice hushed, trying to keep his composure as he assessed your chest. He pressed a glowing hand to your wound, his brow furrowed in concentration, but he shook his head slightly. “The weapon must’ve been enchanted—it’s deeper than it looks, and it’s not healing like it should.”
Nico’s throat tightened. “You can heal it though, right? You have to.”
Will glanced at Nico, his expression shadowed with doubt. “I don’t know, Nico. This kind of wound…” He trailed off, shaking his head. “I’ll do everything I can.” His grip on your hand tightened as Will began his work, the faint golden glow of healing energy surrounding your body, but Nico could tell it wasn’t enough.
Hours passed, and Will pushed himself to the limit, alternating between ambrosia, nectar, and healing magic, trying everything he knew. But still, your breathing was shallow, and the wound stubbornly refused to fully close. Nico stayed by your side the entire time, refusing to move, barely blinking as he watched every flicker of your face for a sign of improvement.
The others came and went—between the battle's cleanup and burning of shrouds—they all offered words of comfort, but Nico barely registered them. His world had narrowed to the cot where you lay, your face pale and peaceful as if already slipping into the void.
Days blurred together. Each dawn brought a renewed wave of dread, as Nico feared you wouldn’t wake up. Every breath you took seemed a miracle, but it wasn’t enough. Ambrosia was fed to you sparingly, Will careful not to overuse it. Every time you twitched or murmured in your sleep, Nico’s heart leapt, only to sink again when you didn’t stir beyond that.
He never left your side.
“Nico you need to rest,” Will urged gently, exhaustion lining his own features. “You’ve been here for days. You can’t keep going like this.”
Nico shook his head. “I’m not leaving him.”
Will opened his mouth to argue but stopped. He knew better than to push Nico. The look in his eyes—dark, haunted—was enough to silence any protest. He had seen that look before, in the faces of those who had lost too much already, those who were on the edge of breaking. “Okay.” Will said softly, placing a reassuring hand on Nico’s shoulder before stepping out of the tent. His footsteps faded, leaving the ghost king alone in the dimly lit space.
Nico leaned forward, resting his forehead on the back of your hand. His body was heavy with exhaustion, every muscle aching from his own battle wounds and malnutrition, not having eaten anything in days, but he couldn't leave. Nico wouldn't. The thought of walking away, even for a moment, felt like abandonment—like if he left your side, you might slip away for good. And that…that was something Nico couldn’t bear.
“I convinced myself there was time to tell you how I felt,” Nico said, his voice cracking, each word feeling like it was pulled from a wound too deep to close. “But now…now it might be too late.”
His breath hitched, and he squeezed your hand tighter, as if holding onto you physically would stop you from slipping away. He could feel the faint warmth of your skin, but it wasn’t enough. It didn’t feel real—none of this did. You were so still, your chest rising and falling with shallow, labored breaths. The strong, brilliant demigod he admired—no, loved—reduced to this fragile, fading presence in the cot before him.
Nico swallowed hard, the ache in his chest nearly unbearable. "I should’ve told you the moment I realized. I should’ve been braver. But I was scared. Scared that you wouldn’t feel the same, or worse—that if I let you in, you’d leave me. Like Bianca did."
The name hung heavy in the air, thick with old grief. His sister. His rock. The one person who had ever made him feel less alone—until you came along. Losing her had shattered him in ways he’d never fully recovered from, and the thought of losing you now? It was a nightmare he couldn’t endure.
“I couldn’t handle it,” Nico whispered, his voice trembling as the confession spilled out. “If you leave me, I don’t know if I’ll survive it. Not again. I’m not strong enough to go through that again.”
The dam broke, and the words came faster, more desperate. “I swear, if you die on me, I’ll follow you. I don’t care what Will or anyone says. I’ll follow you to Elysium if I have to." He pressed his forehead against the back of your hand, his body shaking with the effort of holding back tears. "I love you. I should’ve said it before. I love you, and I’m not ready to let you go."
For a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath. Nico stayed perfectly still, the weight of his confession hanging between you, the silence around him thick and unbearable. Then, faintly, a shift—a movement so small Nico almost didn’t notice it. Your fingers twitched beneath his.
His eyes snapped open, and he lifted his head in disbelief. A soft, rasping sound reached his ears. “Nico…” His heart lurched. Your eyes fluttered open, bleary and filled with pain, but undeniably alive. You coughed weakly, wincing at the movement, but your lips curled into a faint smile. “I wouldn’t do that to you.”
Nico froze, staring at you as if you were a ghost. The relief hit him so suddenly that he couldn’t breathe. “You’re awake…” His voice was barely a whisper, disbelief coloring every word.
Your smile widened just a fraction, though it was strained with effort. “You didn’t think I’d leave you, did you?”
Nico’s relief was overwhelming, but it didn’t come without an edge of something sharper. Anger, bitter and cold, began to surface as he stared at you, still fragile but alive. The thought of how close you came to dying—how close he came to losing you—made his chest tighten painfully.
He pulled back, his expression hardening, the words spilling out before he could stop them. “What the hell were you thinking!? You nearly died out there!”
You blinked, still groggy but more aware now, and gave a weak smile. “Someone had to, right?” you rasped, trying to lighten the tension, but Nico wasn’t having it.
“That’s not the point!” Nico’s voice was louder than he intended, eyes burning with something between fury and heartbreak. “You could’ve died. You almost did."
Your smile widened, even as you winced at the effort. “You would’ve done the same thing,” you said, your voice hoarse but filled with that infuriating calmness. “If it had been you, and Hazel was in danger, you wouldn’t have hesitated.”
Nico froze, his jaw clenching as the truth of your words settled over him. He wanted to argue, to shout at you for being reckless and careless with your life, but he couldn’t. You were right, and that only made it worse. If the roles were reversed, Nico knew, deep down, that he would’ve done exactly the same thing.
You smirked at his silence, clearly pleased with yourself. “See?” you said softly, your voice still weak but playful. “I know you, di Angelo.”
Nico scowled, but his anger was already slipping away, replaced by something warmer, something he couldn’t quite name but felt deep in his bones. He didn’t reply to your teasing, didn’t trust himself to say anything without his emotions spilling over again. Instead, he just shook his head and muttered, “You’re impossible.”
You laughed, though it quickly turned into a pained cough. Nico’s heart clenched again, his worry returning in full force. “I don’t care what you think,” He said after a moment, his voice quieter now, but still laced with intensity. “Next time, don’t throw your life away for anyone. Not Hazel. Not even me.”
You met his gaze, your smile softening. “I won’t.” you said, though the glint in your eyes told him you were lying. Nico didn’t reply to that. He knew you too well—knew that your words were empty promises. But for now, you were alive, and that was all that mattered.

Thalia: So what happened after Juno took you? Where did you go? Were you safe, happy?
Jason, uncomfortably brushing her off: Well, it’s a long story and kind of a bummer haha. You don’t wanna hear that right now.
Thalia, softly: Jason, I’ve waited thirteen years to hear your sad stories.

I found it funny how Thalia and Jason are the most unique pair of siblings in the whole franchise, but Riordan barely did something with them, and they can't even use each other powers.
We had people that had 2 children with the same god of course, like Maria di Angelo or the Stoll's brothers mother or even Reyna and Hylla's dad,and we also have people that have siblings from both side of the Pantheon since they have the same divine parent,Nico and Hazel and everyone's that regards each other as a siblings really, but Beryl Grace was the only one to have children from the same god,but from 2 different aspect. And it was nothing less than Zeus/Jupiter,the king of the Gods and Heavens. Twice. And one of her children became Juno's champion. You can say everything you want about that woman, because she was definitely a bad mother and went insane, but that's fucking impressive.
In TLH Riordan make us acknowledge that this is the first time it ever happens. Before them, there wasn't another pair of siblings that had the same parents, with the immortal ones switching sides. They are the first. And he barely did something about that too since after the first book Jason barely mention his sister. Which is kinda insane since he went on a mission with Annabeth, and we all know their history. They haven't see each other for almost 2 decades, and talked a bit in like...one chapter?? And that's it. I can totally see Jason try to fill the void in him, because he doesn't know his sister anymore and they are literally strangers, with Annabeth talking to him about Thalia and what happened before this quest started. It was really a missed opportunity to also have them bonding more since in MoA she was still wary of him.
And their powers too. Thalia can summon without a problem lightnings and controll the mist (but that's something Chiron teached her),but she can't fly (because of her fear) or create tornadoes like Jason. And Jason can't summon lightnings like Thalia can because he gets tired pretty fast. And I don't remember if Thalia can also control the weather or the winds, but I don't think so,while Jason technically could.
And it's so funny for me because they could literally tap into each other powers and potentials without problems, since they have the same blood from both parents so it could easily be more simple for them, but they can't. Because Thalia's fear limit her and Jason is nerfed in everything he does.
And I compared that with Hazel and Nico. They aren't blood siblings from both parents, since they have 2 different mothers and their father was different for both of them, but they can still use each other powers. Hazel can shadow travel, while Nico has geo-kinesis too. They focus more on their own phere of control (Nico with the dead and Hazel with the riches),and Hazel decided to lean more on her mist powers so she kinda left them be,but they can still use each other abilities without a problem. Nico canonically help Hazel to have a better control of her powers in SoN,and still had time to teach her a bit of his. So that's mean he has control over both aspect but prefer to stick to only one, while Hazel is learning to do the same.
Rick could do the same for Thalia and Jason, and it would have probably made more sense, but he didn't. He had one of the most interesting topic to delve into and totally ignored it after TLH.

Another baby Jason thought: eight/nine year old Thalia makes a cake (probably a boxed mix) for Jason's first or second birthday, unsupervised of course, and then I'm just picturing her sitting with him picking at her own serving and watching baby Jason excitedly smash handfuls of crumbled funfetti into his face while Beryl is probably passed out in the next room

*raises hand slowly* Did… Did anyone want some fluffy Grace Siblings set to the backdrop of my Married Valgrace AU??
— — — — — — — — —
“Do you need any help with that?” Jason asked, looking down at where his sister was crouching, “Reyna’s pretty good at this stuff having lived on Circe’s island-“
“I can handle it on my own,” Thalia said, her tone not quite irritable, but a little flustered. She fumbled the long sheet of silk that hung around Jason’s legs, trying to hoist it up in the customary fashion.
She took a crumpled piece of paper out of her pocket and studied it. It was a printed-out screenshot of a Pinterest board, taken from a demigod-safe computer in a New Rome Public Library.
“I’ve fought countless untold horrors,” she muttered to herself, “I’ve slain the unslayable. I’ve completed feats no mortal could possibly accomplish. I should be able to handle a frickin’ toga.”
Despite her frustrations, Thalia was doing very well- all things considered.
She went about pinning down the garment, smoothing the folds perfectly crisp, tucking and pressing the delicate fabric- she was being uncharacteristically gentle as she ran her fingers along the gold embroidery on the hem.
Jason helped where he could- holding the silk in place with his fingers, directing Thalia on where and what to adjust. Eventually they fell into the rhythm of it. There was a quiet sadness to this ritual. Jason could feel his sister grieving for all the moments she had lost with him. All the school uniform collars never smoothed down. All the medals never pinned to lapels. All the ties never tied. She was mourning the loss of a childhood. One they could’ve had together. Where she got to be a big sister.
She clipped the gold broach at Jason’s shoulder to hold the silk in place, and stood back to admire her handiwork.
Jason turned so he was standing in front of the mirror and adjusted the garment.
“Does it look okay?” Thalia asked, glancing at her reference pictures, “I’ve never even worn a toga before, you have more experience than me.“
“It looks great,” Jason assured her.
He turned to his sister. There was so many things he wanted to tell her. So many emotions it was hard to put into words.
Thalia reached a tender, almost motherly hand up to Jason’s cheek, the back of it brushing against the stubble on his chin.
“I can’t believe how much you’ve grown,” Thalia whispered, “It seems you came into this world only yesterday, and now… gods… married?”
She cupped his chin in her palms, and stood on her tiptoes and pressed her forehead against his. A little spark of electricity jumped between their hair. “I am so proud of you, Jason.”
Funny- Jason had worked his whole life trying to make people proud. His father. His friends. Camp Jupiter. They’d awarded him Praetorship and Pontifex Maximus, given him medals and wreaths and titles- but never had anyone said “I’m proud of you.”
And here Thalia was, staring in wonderment of him just standing there, just… existing. Jason hadn’t done anything to make her proud, and yet she was proud all the same. He’d worked his whole life for the approval of others only to realise the love he needed could be given to him unconditionally, by Thalia, by Leo, by the hundreds of friends and found family waiting out there- all for just being himself.
“Oh gods, I’m gonna cry-“ Jason said, hiding his face and wiping his eyes.
Thalia rubbed his back. “Let it out, brother,” she told him.
He fell into her shoulder and buried his nose in her padded suit jacket, letting his face sink into the warmth of his sister’s earthy smell.
“I love you.”
“Love you too,” she patted his arm, soothingly, “Now we should probably get going. You’ve got a man to marry.”
“You’re right,” Jason stood up. Thalia handed him a tissue, which he accepted and used to wipe his eyes.
Then he took a deep breath, and grabbed the door handle.
— — — — — — — — —
So! You all apparently loved my Married Valgrace AU. And if you didn’t… I loved my Married Valgrace AU. This is another little vignette set in the same world, or in any other world where Jason gets married! The fact that it’s Leo he’s marrying only comes up once, so feel free to swap it out for whoever you want in your head. This is just a short little bit of Grace Siblings fluff to keep the gremlins fed while I’m away for the holidays. Their siblingship is everything to me.
Also, for the record, Leo is doing the exact same thing with Nyssa in the other room.

Okay okay but re: Tamara Smart keeping her accent in the show, what I think would be really cool if they ever do any sort of HoO adaptation (and is also just in general interesting to think about) would be Thalia having an accent while Jason doesn’t. Jason was taken out of his family when he was still in the early stages of learning to talk and would have done most of his learning to talk in New Rome.
Use that to really drive home how long they’ve been separated and that sibling divide between them. Have them speak to each other for the first time in thirteen years and they both startle because she has an accent and he doesn’t. Jason was too young when they got separated to really remember how Thalia’s voice sounded and he didn’t even know she had an accent. Thalia never imagined Jason grown up but her little brother is here and alive and so different from how she remembers him. The fact that they barely got to share a home or a childhood is really hammered home by the fact that there’s even a difference in the way they speak. They’re siblings but they’re also strangers having to relearn what being siblings means and I think her accent and his lack thereof would just be a constant reminder of that.
#Idk. Something to think about. I’m huge on Grace sibling angst if you couldn’t tell lmao#Grace siblings#jason grace#Thalia grace#grace family#pjo tv show#thalia and jason#Thalia pjo#jason pjo#heroes of olympus#hoo#percy jackson and the olympians#pjo tv series#pjo show

One of the things that further separate CHB and CJ,that's barely acknowledged,is the prophecy of the first 5 books. While both camps had the Prophecy of the Seven, only the greeks had the Great Prophecy since the romans didn't had an active part in it until the end.
Jason,Reyna and the cohorts stormed down Mount Othrys and defeated Krios, but the whole place collapsed because Kronos was defeated by Percy and Luke. The romans did something, but it was a small thing in the long run full of crash outs the greeks were having for years. When that happened Jason was barely 15 (his birthday is the 1 July,so only a moth before Percy) and the books make us realize that the romans were clueless of what was happening in Manhattan. They never heard about the prophecy, children of the roman counterpart of the Big 3 didn't have the same treatment that the greek counterpart had.
Jason got put on a pedistal, like Thalia and Percy, because he was the son of Jupiter and people expected much of him; Hazel got isolated, like Nico, because children of Pluto are bad luck. But that's it. Nico,Thalia and Percy were actively fighting for their life while the gods were trying to decide, every year,if they could continue living because of the prophecy. And that's another difference between the greek children of the Big Three and the roman children of the Big Three.
Idk why Rick decided that the prophecy was only influencing the greeks but ironically we can explain it,in the narrative, with the powerscaling (again,he needs to understand what the hell he want to do with it because it's a whole mess): Children of Hades,Poseidon and Zeus are more dangerous and powerful than the children of Pluto,Neptune and Jupiter. Which could also explain the whole power difference between Percy and Jason (and Nico) in HoO but we all know that Rick was at fault in this. But outside of the narrative? Rick never explored CJ more than SoN,and it's clear he favor CHB more (like most of us let's be real-),so he never went into details for the romans.
Also, yes, this is another post on the OG Little Three trio and how their life was more fucked up than Jason and Hazel during the first serie. All of them lived the same things,in the same prospective, that put distance from Jason and Hazel. Nico,Percy and Thalia can understand each other because of the share amount of trauma,Jason and Hazel can't because they never had the same problems.
Jason was Juno champion, while Hera treated Thalia like shit,Pluto can't acknowledge Hazel but tried to be there in some of the worst moment of her life,we all know how Hades and Nico relationship went down in TLO. Their life was never put on a vote in front of them, only because they were a living being,by their own fathers and rest of the Olympians. Thalia,Nico and Percy did. (Another waisted opportunity to explore their complex relationship, the differences of greeks and romans, and how Hazel and Jason could feel about not having a commun ground with their cousins).

im trying to sort the pjo characters in hogwarts houses and i had a thought about jason in slytherin, cause he's the son of jupiter and stuff, and thalia in gryffindor. i thought like ‘oh they would repeat the black brothers' fate’ and then i was like OH. they would repeat the BLACK BROTHERS' FATE.
just imagine jason feeling lonely. he wouldn't care about what their father said, he would want to be in gryffindor, with thalia, so so bad. and then he died young lol
#jason is a pure gryffindor tho#im struggling with where to put leo rn cause my babygirl has so much trauma that he fits EVERYWHERE#jason grace#thalia grace#thalia and jason#grace siblings#black brothers#regulus and sirius#percy jackson and the olympians#heroes of olympus#hoo#pjo hoo toa#pjo hogwarts!au#hp#hogwarts houses

Thalia, handing out snacks on a quest: Here, have a candy bar.
Jason, wrinkling his nose: Oh, no thank you. I’m not big on junk food.
Thalia, rolling her eyes: Oh sure. You used to eat staples for breakfast, but now your body’s a temple.
