Idk if this has been asked before but what’s your favorite things to draw? Like do you love making OC’s and unique characters or do you like making fan art of awesome characters more? I’m just curious

Danny is a damn good mechanic. Working on his parents automobiles have made how he works on vehicles a bit unorthodox. Why disassemble half of the entire car to get to the battery when you could just go in intangibly? OSHA is a scam and a fraud. So what if Nightwing sees him put tension on some coil springs he needs to add back to a cars suspension BY HAND BY SQUISHING IT DOWN and using safety squints while he secures everything in place. He also can MacGyver up absolutely anything you’ll ever need and anything you never should ever attach to your vehicle. All he asks is that no one ever repairs that part besides himself till the end of time or risk a chance of the item exploding in your face. Is it made out of half a toaster and a raspberry pi? Yes. It can however allow you to see the real time positions of any cop within 25 miles and that’s worth rapid disassembly.

Liberals of all sorts will confidently talk about what "indigenous peoples"* want in a way that makes it clear they've never studied a single anti-colonial movement in their lives. Like they can't conceptualise that the societies deemed "indigenous" are (by necessity of still existing) every bit as alive and part of the 21st century as any other people, instead preferring to think of them as nothing more than static museum exhibitions with any deviation from this being a lack of "authenticity". Nor do they imagine that resistance to colonising powers stems from the vicious destruction and exploitation these societies are invariably subjected to (by necessity of being classified as "indigenous"); rather they see it as a matter of idealistic preference for a "natural" and "primitive" life that leads them to resist the inevitable "march of civilisation" for its own sake

These sorts of foolish ideas are widespread, but groups will express them in more explicit terms than usual. Like Anti-Civs are really nothing more than the typical Liberal idea of the "Noble Savage" taken to a logical conclusion; if such people are so Noble then maybe we should aspire to Savagery. It's ultimately incredibly reactionary, whatever its adherents claim; a true progressive would reject the chauvinistic framing of "Civilisation vs Savagery" altogether

i think ive expressed this sentiment before but i love chapter titles so much. i love chapter titles that follow a naming scheme. i love really long chapter titles that start with "in which". i love chapter titles that just plainly state something that sounds unremarkable & you can't tell why it's important until you read the chapter. i love chapter titles.

This is such a non issue but there’s a tiny thing that bothers me in batfam fics, especially the fanon!tim centric ones

And it’s that there’s occasionally this moment where Tim will walk into the room and tells/ ask Bruce this super important piece of information during a moment where Bruce isn’t centred enough to acknowledge it appropriately (i.e he’s stressed about a case, he’s distracted, he’s agitated by something, etc etc) & as a result he usually ends up lashing out at Tim or just reacting inappropriately and as a result it caused more aggravation in the plot, which is fine—

But the part that bothers me is that, 9 times out of 10 Tim would not have revealed said information in that moment if we’re following what we know about Tim’s character (at least in a fanon sense) because Tim ABSOLUTELY would walk in & throughly read the room’s mood before revealing anything, especially personal, emotion based information

Tim grew up with abusive/temperamental absent parents (whatever fanon choice you want to go with) but he grew up knowing that he needed to be able to read his parents moods, and respond & act accordingly to ensure no ripples are created in the social ecosystem he’s living within, he ensures that he keeps things peaceful and non-eventful so he can blend back into the background if he needs to go avoid being the object of ire

And so I don’t believe for a second Tim wouldn’t instantly clock the type of mood that Bruce would be in and HIGHTAIL out of the emotional conversation asap like, this is the boy that regulated Bruce at his most emotionally inconsistent and volatile, there’s noooo way that he wouldn’t be able to read Bruce like an open book and adhere his behaviour accordingly, this is Tim ‘walking example of childhood parentification’ Drake were talking about come on now—

me: apple white is actually a really complex character and her moment with the evil queen was one of vulnerability because she can't be frustrated with how things turned out anywhere else and some part of her was still bitter that she had to give up something good for everyone else. the evil queen knew this and was playing on it. she was also playing on the pressure that snow put on her as well to 'get her happily ever after'. all of this resulted into her throwing the apple in the direction of the mirror in frustration (most likely to get her to shut up), which accidentally caused her to free the evil queen which she did not mean to do. once again afraid of making a mistake and this time having people KNOW about it she then covers for the evil queen as she's afraid of what people will think of her and not anything else because she's a flawed character. the evil queen the promises her happily ever after of course but apple doesnt really have a say in it as she's forced to do whatever the queen says in order to keep the facade that shes 'perfect' because (once again) her upbringing made her scared of making any sort of mistake so she tries to cover for herself instead.

Something I really like is that April’s constant stream of odd jobs she goes through is somewhat reflected in the boys as well. Like, you have April working at random pizza places or getting a crane license or being fully willing to apply for a job at a place clearly made out of cardboard. Then you have the boys as well who do anything from working as a basketball mascot, building a massive dog park, being waiters, getting a whole band gig at a theme park, etc, etc-

Main difference is that April actively applies for these jobs (and is hopefully paid for the short time she’s in them) whereas for the bros the jobs usually find them (and they practically never get paid.) It doesn’t even stop at jobs either, they just seem to casually amass skills in general.

I don’t know, I like how both April and the turtles are just so ready and willing to do things. Sure, they’re not always good at these things, but they do them readily! In a way, being heroes is just another job (well, more like volunteer work/vigilantism/another fun activity) that they initially took on because of their general sense of “why not?”

They’re very willing and open to trying out new things despite their tendency to revert back to what they enjoy (and how commonly trying new things ends up going wrong), and I think that adaptational interest of theirs really helps them be well rounded in multiple regards.

sorry I keep bothering you!!!! but I need your thoughts on Tenna he's so um um so uh and mail guy and and um divorce and and uhhhhhhhhhh I love hearing you break it down theoretical-style because your brain has wonderful ideas. (i havent actually gotten to watching any playthroughs of chapter 4 yet because I needed an emotional break and from what I've heard its .... yeah...)

man what a character to introduce, like all we had for context to him was spamton's absolutely enraged ramblings on how much he sucks, which ended up being like the worst and messiest miscommunication that could have happened to the both of them. Like in retrospect, it's so funny how tenna was introduced versus how he actually turned out. We have the most unreliable guy (a literal scam artist) giving us our only background, calling Tenna a criminal (even if said scam artist is 3x the criminal that tenna is when we actually compare the crime list), and then telling us to not trust him (this is coming from someone who doesn't tell us his actual motivations and betrays us to get Neo and eventually the soul). Like Tenna's buildup was so hilarious yet masterfully done, that when he appeared on screen in chapter 3, i was expecting the worst when in actuality, he's a sweetie with a masters degree in showmanship and abandonment issues.

I also like how similar spamton and tenna really are, how each are driven by their own motivations and aren't entirely exempt from being self-serving in their own regards. Like Tenna, despite being definitely being more grounded and more trustworthy than Spamton, still is so focused on keeping himself relevant, he resorts to extreme measures like trapping the lightners. He so desperately wants to be appreciated and cared for, and selfishly acts on this ambition by whatever means before Susie is (once again) the mvp of deltarune by empathizing with his situation. He's also held onto his influence and position for a rather long time, only losing it all at the end of ch3, as compared to spamton who's had time to deteriorate and spiral, to put it kindly. Like Tenna's story is so very close to Spamton's (from the way they lived to the way they "died"), but Tenna's case is like if Spamton had a better run with his luck and didn't crash and burn so harshly and so rapidly.

Speaking of which, like I love how messy and complicated their falling out was because it's neither of their fault, but you could see it playing out like it did a mile away when you understand both of their self-serving natures. Like Spamton gambled with the fact that spilling the beans about his secret, to get more success out of Tenna, wouldn't get it all pulled as a result. He lost that gamble, and fled the room in a panic (probably running to try and last-minute fix what was inevitably about to happen). That's not normal, but instead of trying to understand why it happened, or comfort Spamton, Tenna took the chance while he was away to get that secret for himself by picking up the phone, to find no one there, and misinterpreted it as Spamton scamming and ditching him. i absolutely love that even if it makes me so ill thinking about it :') They're so alike, and that was their biggest shared downfall.

even after, though, Tenna maintains his (albeit dwindling) influence, like he still had employees and TV world, but Spamton had it all drop to 0 immediately, his sales, his business, his friends, and more after he lost his "help". It's such a powerful contrast. It's even made worse that Spamton was made into a shell of his former self, undergoing something that made him completely unrecognizable, like if I was him, and having made that losing gamble, I wouldn't be able to live comfortably with that guilt, so pinning it all on Tenna as to divert all that hate and vitriol and blame makes sense so he can instead focus on a plan B (becomming [[Big]] or something real, now that he knows he's not real) by any means necessary. Meanwhile, Tenna is left with the obliviousness of what Spamton truly lost and, like, got the majority of the hangups in their separation. Like dude pls pls pls get overrrr him you'll be so much happier. Overall, Tenna's character is amazing at both giving us so much context to not only Tenna, but our favorite puppet man. Deltarune Chapter 3 how i love you.

This ended up with me just waxing poetic about these two lol. Their divorce was also incredibly funny and the fact that Tenna took the [pipis] in the divorce will forever send me.

white roses represent loyalty and devotion. commitment. they're a common wedding flower because they can also represent new beginnings.

for Suo Wei, they're like a silent testament that he is too wrapped up in his worries to be able to see or acknowledge.

for Xiao Shuai, they're a promise for what's about to finally begin for him and Cheng Yu.
