don't assume that "transmasc" and "transfemme" are catch all terms for trans people btw. it can be a form of degendering; if I'm a fully binary trans man, (im not, but in this hypothetical) being called "transmasc" without my permission can sound like: "i refuse to call him a man, but i will concede and call him masculine"
those terms were coined specifically for trans people who are nonbinary and may still transition to some degree (i dont mean only medical transition, remember that changing pronouns and names counts as social transition too!) they were never meant to be umbrella terms
and honestly you should always confirm if anyone is comfortable with those terms before you use them, even if they are nonbinary! if I have a nonbinary friend who is amab, taking estrogen and wearing dresses, and if i call them "transfemme" without permission, I'm basically 1. outing their agab 2. assuming that they are intentionally being feminine and not androgynous 3. just generally picking a label for them that they didn't ask for! some nonbinary people don't want to be referred by any gendered terms, including "transfemme" or "transmasc" 👍

admit you ship incest dude. the cn/jp shippers say its incest. pick up a book and translate it, it says kaeya is adopted. .. and heres a long paragraph about how incest is only between biological families and more disrespect to people who are adopted...
no idea why my inbox didn't give me this notif until now, but now's a better time than any to talk more about this.
i'm chinese. i speak fluent mandarin chinese. i've consulted other native chinese speakers about this, both genshin players and unrelated. i play genshin with chinese audio and english subs specifically to catch and complain about inaccuracies. i'd reveal more information but then i think it'd be trivially easy to doxx me if one knew what they were looking for.
fundamentally, the issue of incest lies in physical reproduction, yet i find adoptive incestuous relationships discomforting all the same. it's why i didn't like or finish go ahead (以家人之名) because i felt that it laid too much into the siblings aspect for romantic relationships to be feasible, and it was super contradictory from the initial general message of the first bittersweet yet wholesome episode.
however, personally, i just don't think kaeya felt like a part of the family until crepus's death and he really reflected on crepus's actions towards him (hangout). and even after beginning to view crepus as a father figure, he wouldn't have so shallowly made the transition for diluc to be his brother by adoption and consequently changed his entire mind about the guy (which you can see with the way he chooses to refer to both men with different terms, one adoptive and familial, one very clearly 'sworn', very consistently throughout the whole game. if that ever changes in chinese, well, at least you can know that i'll make a post about it if i still care about genshin by then.)
the localization team does make plenty of serious mistakes, and it's of my opinion that as a result, it has very clearly skewed character relationships with those mistakes, (cynari and collei, eulamber, some npcs in liyue, sumeru) some from cultural differences, some just from lazy translation overall. there's layers of complexity in how chinese utilizes honorifics and affectionate terms, as well as contextual consideration between fiction and reality, and sometimes i feel like the english localization team just threw it all into google translate and called it a day.
i don't even ship kaeluc that much. i like to call it the secret third thing where they can't get off their asses to talk about anything ever so they exist in an undefined space and to have them return to any semblance of a healthy relationship, platonic, familial, or romantic, would require a novel's length worth of development that hoyoverse will probably never write, and so my brain has made up novels of all three kinds and more.
however, i also don't care about people who do ship kaeluc or treat any other fictional media in an incestuous or otherwise problematic manner, regardless of language or culture. this is because i operate on a "don't like, don't read, don't interact" mindset. it makes being in fandom more fun; you should try it.
my disappointment wasn't aimed at the fact that i think too little people ship kaeluc. it just sucks to see people claim that that's what's wrong with the fandom and spin this evil gross imagery around the ship over a misunderstanding, especially when that's not how i view it. it's also the only thing vehemently regularly repeated ('klcers dni') when there's so many other issues with the game and the fandom.
(off topic but what's the worst thing that'll happen if a kaeluc shipper likes your fan stuff. it's not like they come into your tumblr asks to bother you with an "oh btw you're wrong about how you enjoy this media and this is what's right"-- oh wait that's what's going on here right)
including the fact that people like you purposefully go around searching in the kaeluc tag (which you probably did, because nobody is scrolling that far back in my blog to find this one specific post to complain about) to police and pick fights with people over a stupid issue from 2020/2021. i guess tumblr isn't a safe place to talk about kaeluc either lmao.
and to think i left anon asks on in the hopes that it could be an inbox for anyone who wanted to ask me art questions or just leave something positive and not feel too awkward (where do i get the confidence in thinking anyone would ask my incompetent brain for help lol).
to be fair, it's going to be my fault for continuing to draw attention to this by responding to such an ask instead of just deleting it and moving on but fuck it we ball.
this ended up pretty long but i feel like it would've been too rude to just say "会说中文的干嘛要翻书 :P". probably would've been funnier though and saved me a lot of time. kudos to you if you actually read this and read through everything.
final note:
#asks#anon asks#kaeluc#luckae#and with that no more anon asks :(#ngl from what i've seen online a lot of cn shippers aren't shipping it like incest but that might just be because i don't look for it#unless anon meant that calling your lover 哥哥 is incest which then i'd like to direct them to tgcf LMAO

Why do you think dickbabs fans always claim dickkory shippers love Dick and Kory as a couple only because of cartoons, animations and fanon, and not because of actual comics? I have read the comics that cover the relationship of Nightwing and Starfire as a couple and I think it was lovely, I absolutely love them. The majority of people I know did the same and love them in the comics. Why this nonsense claim?
An incredibly condescending claim, considering most of dickkory shippers i know have read comic books, including books featuring dickbabs. I've also seen some of DB shippers accused us of not even reading NTT, which is extremely untrue since we do read it! Dickkory has always been popular and beloved in comic books since the 80s and until now. They've been loved way before animations/films, and certainly way before canon DB 😂😂😂

See the comments and likes? Dickkory shippers are aware of their ship's state in current comic books! They're also aware of the ship that's canon instead of theirs, which means they indeed have read!
Hell, i have even read pre-crisis Batman books, NTT, Nightwing (1996), Bird of Prey (1999), NW Our Worlds At War, JL books, etc. We've read comics with dickbabs in it alright, but guess what? We're still a dickkory shipper! I admit DB writings HAD good elements, but they act like the moment we read their books we're instantly gonna change ships 🤧
Despite it all, their accusations hold some truth, because a lot of dickkory shippers came from non-comic book readers, aka general audience. Most of dickkory shippers showed their dislike on dickbabs contents in TikTok and other platforms, claiming they're more of siblings instead of lovers (which is not entirely wrong, in pre-crisis Batman comic, there is one panel where Babs saw Dick as a little brother). They took comic panels like NW Annual out of context to bash DB and spout other misconceptions, these are the things that made DB shippers accuse us of not reading comic books. Yes, dickkory shippers can be toxic and childish, and i believe there are two reasons for this. First, each fandoms has its fair share of toxicity, dickkory just tend to be more visible because our huge popularity. Second, as for the childish part, it's possible those who commented are literal children! Medias with dickkory in it like TT03 and TTG targeted young audiences after all! I know it's annoying to have such immature comments all the time from those dickkory shippers, but they forgot that dickkory is enjoyed by people consisting of older generations from 80s, adults, adolescents, and children! (i don't condone such toxicity btw! Just explaining things!)
I honestly understand why they accused us of not reading comic books, DB mainly exists in comic books after all. But that's hardly our fault when DC is inconsistent with canons in both comic book medium and televisions! Of course the audience is gonna be so segmented. Dickbabs shippers from comics won't enjoy animations, games, and films with dickkory in it. Dickkory shippers from general public won't enjoy A LOT of comic books with dickbabs in it. Even for comic book fans, comic book as an entertainment medium is hard to keep up due to its different continuities. Lots of effort and research need to be done first to enjoy and understand comic book titles that have existed for decades. Now imagine dickkory general audience trying to get into comic books filled to brim with dickbabs. Do you think they'll put in such efforts? No. They're a segmented audience that DC failed to transition into comic book readers. Dickbabs shippers didn't take those factors into consideration and accuse us of being illiterate instead!
So, do a lot of dickkory fans not read comic books? Yes, for the reasons i stated above. But do ALL dickkory fans not read comic books? That's wrong, the majority of us do read! I'm pretty sure a very large amount of comic book readers still ship dickkory despite the other ship's canon status! If they continue to deny our popularity by accusing us of being illiterate—claiming our ship's only popular thanks to animations, then i don't know what to say because all the evidence is against them 😭
#hope i got the points across and worded my sentences properly! a bit hard since english is my 3rd language#dickkory#dick grayson#koriand'r#starfire#dc comics#nightwing#robstar#dc#dickkori#dickori#comic talks#comic discussion#richard grayson#asks

Can I just say? Leftists/progressives/feminists/etc. who use "males" a la "I know a guy who xyz, he was male btw" or "males are blah blah blah" give the exact same energy as people who use "female"/"f*moids". (Also, I'm absolutely NOT including people like Velvet who use it for themselves, btw!!). Like, stop demonizing entire demographics (groups which are literally a fake categorization anyway like sex does not exist as a binary why are we still debating this in 2025), but also, as a masc person, I just know they mentally include me and like I'm a 5'2" brown gnc they/them person, please what male privilege do I have? And what do I share with this group anyway?
It's an incredibly gross and reductive way to look at gender, and I wish people would stop being such assholes towards those that dare to transition towards manhood or masculinity.
Heaven forbid someone want to be someone you didn't want to be.
I can only imagine the shit show if a trans guy would act the same way some trans women act towards trans men, by attacking trans women for daring to transition towards femininity.

there is always this discourse about if transfem and transmascs have it worse
And like, I know it's not really quantifiable and measureable to find the objective suckiness of being trans.
But like
Man it's gotta suck to be a trans guy. This is coming from the perspective of a trans girl btw.
I know that not all transmascs care about passing and having a "fully male body", like everyone decides for themselves what they wanna do. But let's see this from the perspective from a trans guy who wants to be as close to a cis perisex man as possible, this guy is also perisex afab, meaning normal development and stuff.
Ok, so for this man to "finish" his transition, he would need like, what? 3 surgeries. All of which are gatekept. He would need top surgery, tit chop as you say.
This is already a lot, and it sucks fucking dick that y'all have to wait for that. But other than that already sucky and gatekept surgery, we also have phalloplastry, which many countries including Denmark, doesn't offer at all because it's more complicated than vaginoplastry.
This is also a hugely impactful surgery, and I assume that for many trans men, it also doesn't really feel good enough because no semen and dick pump. Of course I'm no expert, so don't take what I say as gospel, I might flat out be wrong about many things.
But that still isn't it. By now we have moved past surgeries the average transfem would "need"
Like yes, many trans women end up getting BA and FFS to combat dysphoria on top of bottom surgery, but they aren't "required" in the same way. So let's round it out and say one half of both of those surgeries count, so that means that transfems on average get two gender affirming surgeries. Which means that now, transfem and transmasc surgery counts are the same.
But wait, there's more!
There are also hysterectomies to remove the uterus and ovaries. Which again is very extremely gatekept because "devine femininity"(bleugh)
That's three surgeries to transition "normally" for a transmasc versus the two of a transfem, already there it's more sucky.
Of course this is not taking other typically gendered features into account like hip and shoulder width, which is too variable to really take into account here. Also it is not as widely different between the sexes as some people claim.
But this is just the surgery front.
I can't even begin to imagine how dysphoria inducing dealing with menstruation must be to a trans man.
Like periods suck dick, I know that from personal exprience. It hurts like shit for like a week at a time and there's blood everywhere.
But for trans men you add fucking dysphoria on top of that???? Hellish, the female reproductive system is so invasive and intrusive. For transfems we can just y'know, not touch the thingy and we won't have to worry about a visceral bloody reminder every month that stays even after hrt starts.
Really what I want to say is that yea sure maybe transfems struggle more with sexism and such whilst transitioning, I'd argue even that is not quantifiable and will be hugely variable on how the individual looks(speaking from experience as a trans girl who has not once had transphobia aimed at her in person in public from strangers)
But the physical struggle of transitioning? I think that trans masculine transitions take the cake by far here. Like objectively too.
And all the transmascs out there at all, doesn't matter how dysphoric you are, or how far you wanna take your transition. I respect you so god damn much, and I'm in awe of all of you. You're genuinely incredible
#I'm really sorry if I phrased anything poorly or if I triggered dysphoria in anyone#I just wanted to give a different look on this stupid discourse because I think trying to decide who has it worse is pointless#and I just wanted to elavate transmasc people in general

https://www.tumblr.com/trans-intersex-confessions/776920752775708672/feel-like-every-example-of-an-afab-transfem
this anon, btw. Honestly i'm surprised the comments are so confused because i thought i explained myself clearly so let me re explain
First of all, no, I am not saying i'm trans as a way to reclaim the femininity that's been forced onto me, however if somebody did wanna go that route i'd support them. idc, labels are tools, and i'm not one to be a sticler for "rules" of queerness.
Nor am I saying that because my physical body is different and has been / will be changed, it makes me inherently trans. cis people get medical shit all the time.
What i AM saying is that not every intersex transfem who happened to be afab will have a really easy "basically perisex transfems but with a word written on a paper changed".
And I am affected by that. Even though feminity has been forced on me a bit, i will never truly have the access to being seen as a woman as a pericis woman will have, and have never been treated fully as one all my life. i was BORN in the "in between". as nothing. constantly de/re gendered as society saw fit.
My point about medical stuff is a few things:
A.) if i choose to define my own personal transfemininity by 'transitioning to femininity/woman.etc idk' (which INCLUDES PHYSICAL, feel like a lot of people forget that) then thats my own prerogative. its nothing about other people. this is how i define my transness
B.)
(general you used here)
I don't think the fact I've been forcibly medicalized should change anything. If you genuinely believe that being forced into medication will change somebodies sex to be "too XYZ" to be trans then you are supporting the ideas of the same system that oppresses us.
+ In my eyes, I would've just still needed to do it down the line if i chose to transition physically. I see my body untouched by science as my true 'starting form', not the one they made for me. I hate that people try and act like because i was forced into surgeries and shit that thats now what i am. erase my intersexuality i am now just some female. bleh. it erases the complexities of my life, i don't want to be seen as FTF or some shit, because i'm not. i was born close to neutral and whatever gender i decide is mine, i am transitioning to from that point. yk? idk i think cuz i'm intersex i factor in my physical form into my gender as well, because my life experiences as an intersex person have affected me. #intergender and such
Again, nobody else has to define their shit by physical transition. Just for ME its impossibke to seperate my transness and the fact i am intersex.
And C.) MOST IMPORTANTLY, what i'm saying is i still experience shit that perisex transfems do. its not like im some pericis lady. which idk i feel the need to state because i feel like half the battle is people saying "erm we share 0 experiences", and i wanna say i DO share similar experiences, even as somebody who doesn't fit close to the blueprint they're trying to sell idk
-
like i am trans, socially, societally, with my physical shit, and jsut as the very nature of being nonbinary. (im not going to go into my lfie story)
i'm not trying to make some big point about how everyone should experience life or ID. i'm just trying to say even people who are "too close" to where they "originated" have complex experiences. you cannot judge people based on SIG, sex, AGAB, nothing. because it just boils down their life experiences to something less and it still excludes folks.
but yea. ""afab transfems"" are not only valid when they are CTM and raised fully as a dude🩷
-
idk if i missed any points. its hard for me to explain myself when idk where people misunderstood me
.

BEWARE OF "body mod advices" - they can be dangerous and LETHAL.
(this post was about a deactivated blog but extends to any possible future blog like it)
edit3 since he deactivated: Red told me in the DMs that he WILL be more careful about all this risk stuff, I believe he is going to do better. Im sure he's a good person and he also was extremely civil in the DMs. Since he's not here to defend himself anymore I'll gladly take his side and say that despite this mess, all Red wanted to do was indeed reduce harm and potentially save lives. Good luck on all your endeavors, Red, I wish you a beautiful and successful career and that you have a great positive impact in the atypical dysphoria community, both on and offline. I don't know how my post truly impacted you, I'm so sorry if you're feeling bad. You acted the best way you possibly could.
Second, if Red comes back, DO NOT HARASS HIM, let him be himself and don't let his past hold them down.
Third, all my points still stand for their deactivated blog and any potential body mod tips blogs in the future. Please everyone, take care, stay safe.
Past edit: DONT HARASS any possible blogs like hers, just REPORT and spread awareness, (also don't make the same mistakes as me: TALK TO THEM FIRST)
Past edit: minors please interact with this post, forget my bio for this one
Past edit: editing editing the post since I talked to Red and he isn't bait. I definitely should have talked to them in DMs first. I sincerely apologize. So sorry Red! To those reading, don't make the same mistake as me, ok? Always talk to people privately first, I genuinely fucked up bad. This mistake of assuming others intentions, can traumatize them. If I were in Red's shoes I'd be traumatized. So yeah, I fucked up bad.
Their intentions are genuine but my point still stands that its extremely dangerous and can't qualify as harm-reduction / end edit note
alright, I'm not transid/radqueer but you guys need to REPORT AND WARN OTHERS of these accounts as soon as they appear. Do not entertain them, no matter how desperate you are to transition. You can become a victim of dangerous charlatanism.
LONG POST AHEAD, VERY IMPORTANT NEVERTHELESS
Archive to what i'm about to post
Red claimed to be "a non-professional surgeon, planning on getting better with practice." Bad move!
Red has told me he's pursuing a medical degree and won't actually do non-qualified surgery.
.
Red: "The blog is centered around an idea of "extreme" body mods that I would like to explore further, [...] things like breaking and re-mending bones, creating new joints, replacing skin, etc."
My point: the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and your blog was unsafe.
.
To any possible counterarguments: "But they (people following/asking advice) know the risks!" That's victim-blaming. Red gave himself the responsibility to give harm-reducing advice, but he didn't do a good job.
"But I know the risks!" You can't possibly know the risks because Red doesn't know either or "kinda knows" but has not properly informed his audience, it didnt give sources, oversimplified their advice and failed to provide accurate information about risk. Or gave plain misinformation.
Again I'm not transid, I can't possibly imagine what you're going through in order to try anything at all to feel better, including trying experimental surgery not legally available or not researched at all. However, please please please do not become a victim of medical deceit or whatever tf it's called. Even if the blog owner tries their best to be reliable.
They might sound confident, but they do not know what they are saying, what they're telling others to do.
.
Ask: "How would I make my skin gray without tattoos?" (DO NOT SHAME THIS USER BTW)
Red: "[...] I assume you want permanent grey. To do this, it's pretty simple, although it'll take a lot of time. Basically, what you want to do is to constantly be exposed to lots of silver. Any product with silver in it like specific lotions and skin creams. also fish, milk, mushrooms, and whole grains tend to have silver in them! So tldr, consume lots of silver!"
STOP!!! DONT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE!!! DONT OVER-EXPOSE YOURSELF TO SILVER!!! "Silver toxicity causes argyria. Silver toxicity occurs when too much silver is in your body." <- from a simple research on "too much silver in blood"
THE RESULT WILL BE ARGYRIA. EVEN IF YOU DO IT SLOWLY, YOU ARE BUILDING UP A HEAVY METAL IN YOUR BODY. THE GREY SKIN IS NOT PRETTY NOR WITHOUT GRUESOME SIDE SYMPTOMS.
Yall. Anything in excess will fuck up your body, including iron, vitamins, and silver.
To whoever asked Red, I don't know your mind, but I'm sure you'd love to live a happy life with grey skin! You'd love to have a body you're comfortable with and looks rad as hell! But you wouldn't be able to enjoy it if you're deeply sick with ARGYRIA, WHICH IS WHAT RED'S ADVICE WILL GIVE YOU!
.
Ask: "How do I get darker skin without going too dark? I’m pale and burn easily, I just want a color similar to Lin Manuel Miranda" (AGAIN DONT HARASS THIS USER)
Red: [...] "expose yourself to the sun more! As you do this, you'll get tan which will protect you from future burns and make your skin slightly darker, do this enough and you can engineer your skin to be as dark as you want!"
THATS MISINFORMATION! Yes you may tan to get darker (Lin's tone may or may not be achievable to you) but one: it's not permanent unless you're constantly going out; two: SKIN CANCER!!!! DONT OVER-EXPOSE YOURSELF TO THE SUN!!!! USE SUNSCREEN!!
TO ANYONE SEEKING A MUCH DARKER TONE: YOU CAN'T "GO AS DARK AS YOU WANT TO" BY TANNING. Just look at people who have lived their whole lives outdoors like farmers! White people can't tan to black! There's a limit to how tan you may get! Are you seriously gonna risk skin cancer for an impossible thing???
.
Red: "Self amputation is really dangerous! You should learn how to use a tourniquet, that way, you can stop the bleeding! [...]" WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR SOURCES, RED?
If anyone reading this is seriously thinking of amputating themselves, and will not change their minds no matter what, please just have someone immediately drive you to the hospital. I do not support such operation and you can still die or get horribly sick even with your best precautions, but you better receive actual medical attention and stay alive rather than trying to heal it yourself. Because what you'll most likely get from following Red's advice is DEATH FROM BLOOD LOSS. Again, if you absolutely cannot get rid of this dysphoria with therapy, or manage it at least, or have a doctor do it for you, I still would NEVER suggest you do it yourself, but IF you end up doing that then at least please go straight to the hospital instead of trying to heal it yourself.
.
Red: "do not try and break your own bones to make modifications! [...] Get another person (Like myself) to help you with the bone breakage instead."
NO ONE KNOWS WTF THEY'RE DOING. YOUR FRIEND DOESN'T. RED DOESN'T (as they advertised in the post). NO ONE IS GOING TO GET MODIFICATIONS LIKE THIS. NO ONE IS GOING TO BE HAPPY. EVERYONE IS GOING TO BE EITHER IN PAIN, RISK OF HORRIBLE INJURIES OR TROUBLE WITH THE LAW. FUCKING AROUND = GUARANTEED BOTCHED OPERATION.
Also, now that Red has clarified she won't perform surgery until having an actual degree, you can't really go to her XD
.
Red: "Some advice for surgery [...] This one's important, make sure your patient is strapped down and properly sedated, if they move, even slightly, you risk hitting a vital artery or organ, if you do hit an artery, don't panic, this is why you learned how to use a tourniquet! if you hit a vital organ though, odds are you won't know how to fix that, so be extra careful with abdomen and face surgery!"
Thats still promoting medical malpractice, mutilating and potentially killing friends, dangerously downplaying surgery so much, this is not harm-reduction
.
Ask: "I want to be blind in one eye, but more-so in the sense of extreme but not total vision loss. I want to do something permanent in the future!" (AGAIN DONT HARASS THIS USER)
Red: Well, a simple fix to your problem is just get some calcium hydroxide in your eye and wash it out a few minutes later, this should lead to permanent, extreme (but not total) vision loss in that eye. Keep it in too long and it can cause total vision loss so be careful!
Ok so, it's great that you're trying to come up with alternative ways for users not to kill themselves by gouging their eyes out, but you've still failed to give them the full picture
From a quick search "calcium hydroxide in the eyes": Exposure to the skin can produce burns, painful irritation and necrosis, and exposure to the eyes may cause severe pain and vision loss that can be temporary or permanent. If calcium hydroxide is exposed to the skin, contaminated clothing should be removed, excess amounts of the chemical should be wiped off and the affected skin should be flushed repeatedly with water. Victims of calcium hydroxide exposure to the eyes should flush their eyes with water continuously for the first 15 minutes, but all cases of external exposure should receive immediate medical care. Inhaling calcium hydroxide through the nose or mouth can also cause immediate, painful and potentially life-threatening complications. Throat and nasal passages may become painful and swollen, and the swelling may restrict airways, making breathing difficult or impossible. If the calcium hydroxide particles are carried all the way to the lungs, this may further complicate breathing. Victims of this type of exposure should be taken immediately to a fresh air environment, and emergency services should be contacted right away. Administration of oxygen and emergency respiratory assistance may be required.
.
Red (answering an ask): "the question shouldn't be what DO people replace their skin with, it should be what CAN they, after all, just because it's never been practiced or very rarely practiced doesn't mean it's bad or impossible! Of course, my personal favorite skin substitutes are rubber and red velvet, I am also a big fan of stainless steel."
(Don't promote such an operation). THIS OPERATION IS BAD AND IMPOSSIBLE TO SUCCEED. SKIN CAN ONLY BE REPLACED WITH SKIN. SKIN IS A LIVING ORGAN. ANY OTHER SUBSTITUTE WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE BODY PARTS OR DIE.
YOU KNOW HOW PEOPLE WITH TRANSPLANTS NEED LIFE-LONG MEDICAL ATTENTION SO THEIR BODY DOESN'T REJECT IT? HOW TF WILL YOU DO THIS WITH FUCKING RED VELVET?
YOU WILL FUCK UP YOUR BODY'S IMMUNE SYSTEM A THOUSAND DIFFERENT WAYS.
ANYWAYS. CROSSTAGGING FOR REACH. PLEASE EVERYONE REBLOG. THIS IS SERIOUS SHIT.

Some Jane hcs?
🖤Yes :3 luv her 🖤 (will be going off Jane R, the canon one not Jane A. I love the lesbian representation Jane R is! :) Also some of these are gonna be canon)
Jane was a woman with a normal life
The two suburban parents, normal school life, normal love life
Just normal and happy
Her and Mary met in high school
Mary was a cheerleader and Jane being her best friend at the time watched and supported her
Jane didn’t realize she was a lesbian till she saw Mary with a boyfriend in high school and got extremely jealous and didn’t understand why
And Jane never liked a boy before but she knew she felt something for Mary
When Mary and her boyfriend broke up Jane and her cuddled as Jane comforted her and they shared their first kiss
They stayed together ever since then
Even though it was the 90s/ 2000s when they started dating most people accepted them
Jane’s parents included
They got married as soon as they were able to
Jane’s normal life continued with Mary until her parents were killed by an at the time 19 year old Jeff
Jane was absolutely devastated and wracked with grief
She stayed in bed not moving for months
Some days she just cried and screamed and nothing else
She also got paranoid
What if he tried to hurt Mary next?
How could Jane let that happen?
She couldn’t
So she did research on Jeff like crazy
It was really unhealthy
Also took self defense classes and made Mary take some too
But with all Jane read about this guy, she knew that still wouldn’t be enough
She wanted to avenge her parents, the police were useless in helping
She wanted to protect Mary, Jane can’t bare to loose the love of her life
So what’s the answer to those problems?
Take a risky government observed and produced experimental drug called Liquid Hate of course!
She went into the facility blank faced, telling them they could experiment on her
Inject her with as much as they needed
Make her stronger and she would do anything for them
She was willing to throw away her old life completely for revenge
Jane didn’t care. In her mind any chance she had at a “normal life” died with her parents
She would be too afraid, too full of grief and pain and paranoia to live a normal life and move on
So she would become a weapon to protect the one person that matters to her. Mary.
It’s all she could do
And that’s exactly what happened
Her transformation was slow and painful
Pre transition she had dark hazel eyes and really dark brown hair
Now she has all black eyes and lips, pale skin and black hair
When she was injected with it it’s like all her anger came out full force for 2 minutes and she lost all control of herself
She destroyed everything in the room, lashed out at the scientists, injuring a lot of them
They had to sedate her and strap her down
When she came to, she apologized and is more or less acts like her normal self
She looked in the mirror
Her old life was truly gone
They told Jane all about her new powers which include
Enhanced strength and speed, vocal mimicking, shape shifting, healing, regeneration and regeneration of limbs, drug and alcohol tolerance and almost infinite stamina (this is canon btw)
Jane was now an assassin for the CIA and FBIs Justice Department (also canon)
And she didn’t even tell Mary
Jane went home and Mary screamed until Jane calmed her down
“Mary, it’s me! I-“
“What the fuck did you do?!”
“What I had to do to keep you safe.”
“And that is?!”
Jane explained everything
“What…how…you…”
“I know it’s jarring okay? But it’s still…me. I understand if you can’t love me because I look like this. I understand if you want to go. But just know I truly did do this for you and for myself. I have to protect you and avenge my parents.”
“You are so impulsive and stupid! But you’re still as beautiful as ever. You know I’m never going anywhere.”
They shared a kiss in the kitchen
Jane was so lucky to have Mary
Jane takes out any criminal asked of her and ones not asked of her too
Rapists, serial killers, p3d0s, abusers
Anyone that society doesn’t need
But her ultimate goal is to kill the man that killed her parents
Jeff the killer
She won’t stop until that happens
Jane doesn’t kill or hurt innocent people
She wouldn’t dream of it
Why be like the man she hates?
Jane’s actually really nice despite everything
She can be very sarcastic and snarky too though but can you blame her?
She’s still violent towards criminals though
Like extremely violent
They remind her of Jeff and she calls it “practice” for when she finally gets her hands on him
His death will be slow and painful
Jane has a sister and other surviving family members that she hasn’t seen in a while (how could she even begin to explain her life now)
Jane is 38 years old
Born September 1st 1985
Jane is Wasian (white and Asian, Japanese specifically) but looks more Japanese
She kinda looks like a type of vengeful Japanese spirit called the Onryō and has come to like it
people think she is one sometimes
Especially when she makes weird ass noises to freak out her victims/ mess with them
Jane really relates to Onryō due to the stuff that happened in her life
Her mother would often tell her stories about the Onryō especially around Halloween
Jane finds it ironic that she kinda looks like one with her pale skin, tall stature and long black hair
Especially when she wears white since Onryō are often depicted in white burial kimonos
She especially feels like one when she comes out of the darkness, quietly and slowly as if she’s floating her black eyes looking at her victim through the dark
She specifically relates to some parts of the story of Lady Owia. A man ruining Jane’s life, “killing” her old self and the life she knew, making her a vengeful person and leaving her “disfigured” and looking like an Onryō
Sometimes she still gets upset and will scream and cry at night in the middle of nowhere, making her look and sound like a spirit in pain
Despite the fact she’s still alive she sometimes feels like she died with her parents
Maybe she is just an Onryō in a humans body
She can speak fluent Japanese thanks to her mom
Jane understands Kagekao fully
Both of them being gay Japanese people who have pale skin and are good fighters is really coincidental
Kagekao thought Jane was a spirit or something supernatural due to the grief and vengeance coming off her
But to his disappointment she’s just a cool looking human
Jane really doesn’t like him
He’s a serial killer who kills people for shits and giggles like Jeff and she can’t stand that
Jane knows he’s a demon because he told her and Kagekao thought Jane wouldn’t understand him
They both also have voice mimicking powers and they use it against each other all the time
Jane is jealous of his parkour skills though, she wants to get better at it
When Jane is in a violent mood or in a fight black veins will appear all over her body, but it’s most noticeable oh her face and especially on her temples and forehead leading into her eyes as the veins pump and bulge with blood. Very unsettling to look at.
Jane is usually 5’10 but if she wants to look more intimidating in a fight she will make herself taller like 6’3-6’5
Jane is romantic/ trad goth and listens to the music since she was born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s it’s nostalgic for her
Jane wears black everyday because she thinks all other colors look bad on her
She wears white to sleep though
Jane’s eyes are pitch black so you have no idea where she’s looking or what she’s looking at
It’s kinda scary when she looks at you especially if it’s dark
But she’s pretty so it’s okay
Loves Japanese comfort foods and will cook them a lot like really good ramen, mochi ice cream, udon, kastu curry, tempura and hot pot
It reminds her of her mom
Jane’s kinda happy that she has long shiny black hair like her mom now
If you were ever gonna run into a Creepypasta and live, Jane’s definitely your best bet
Likes to shapeshift to look normal to take Mary on dates
Wears black dresses when she’s not fighting but when she is, jeans and a sweater all black of course
Sounds like Amy Lee from Evanescence when she sings
A smooth soothing voice when she talks
Lived with Mary in their home till she got roped in with all the other pastas (but that’s a completely different hc list completely)
Since Jane works for the government she’s rich. Like really rich
So she’s always clean and put together
Can walk in heels like a pro
Jane’s a queen and I love her
This isn’t proofread I made this at 3 am sorry lol

Final Thoughts on KinnPorsche
Right, so I just finished watching KinnPorsche for the first time. And I have many thoughts. And I want to subject you to them. Buckle in, it's a long one, filled with many complaints.
The Positives:
Ok let's start with the #1 strength. I don't know who cast Bible and Build as Vegas and Pete but I am kissing them on the mouth. They acted perfectly. And they are by far the most interesting characters and the most consistent. Plus their final arcs feel like they actually have a conclusion. Vegas is able to step away from the Mafia and Minor family business and build his life anew without his father shaping him. Pete chooses to do what he wants and is also able to leave the Main family (his lifelong loyalty). Their scenes together were emotional, tense, and just fascinating. Easily the stars of the show
Porsche's community. Yeah, the writers forget about this aspect sometimes, but when they don't it's great. He has a little family at the bar with Yok (WHO BTW I ADORE) and his friends. He has a little family with the bodyguards. He has Porchay. It's clear that he just bonds and cares with so many people and it's his biggest strength
The fight scenes are great. They're exciting and keep you invested. Again, if anyone knows, let me know, but I'm still curious if the actors all did their own stunts or had stunt doubles?
It was filmed very well too. So much gorgeous colored lighting and shots with interesting transitions. As noted in my liveblogging notes, this particular shot of the gunshot transitioning to a bottle pop was so cool.
Adored the brothers. Porchay is such a sweetheart who you just can't help but adore. Tankhun was also a delight, even if he contributed to a lot of the tonal whiplash in the show. It's not his fault. And although he seems silly, he's a lot smarter than he seems and has a lot of love and trust in the bodyguards. He was consistently the one to back up Porsche and wanted to look for Pete
I liked the setup of Porsche feeling conflicted and guilty about hurting others the way he's been hurt. Not that they did much with this...
The Negatives:
I'm nit-picky sorry. I have a LOT to critique here.
I did not care about Kinn at ALL. He started off as an arrogant asshole, but I thought they could make him more interesting by giving him more layers. And all we got was that he was betrayed once. That's so not interesting. He never had much of a personality to begin with, but he felt more and more watered down towards the end. Sure, he learned to trust, but it didn't feel like a satisfying arc to me, or one that had much effort put into it for that matter. And they could have made him interesting is the thing! Sacrificing his own morals and dreams for a job he's been born into is something that could be interesting. And they did touch on it in episode 6, and it was GOOD! And then never again
Porsche was likeable, yes, but god there were so many opportunities for more. Like I said previously, the few moments where he felt conflicted and guilty were good and I wanted more of that. But eventually the story forgot about those aspects. And the ending for him is that he's the head of the minor family? When he wanted so badly to leave this life? And saw many times how this job destroys families, including his own? Let him have his happy ending. And if you don't want that at least give him some conflicted feelings or SOME nuance to him becoming the new head of the minor family, but instead it's framed as his happy ending and I just don't buy this. And the story can't seem to be consistent with his care for Porchay. Time and time again, we're shown that Porchay is everything to Porsche. He's the only family Porsche has and he's his main motivation for everything. But then we get like 3 episodes after he's forced to be a bodyguard where the story seems to forget Porsche even has a brother. Porchay only matters to Porsche if it's relevant to the plot and like come on. The brothers deserve better that that.
And therefore Kinn and Porsche really didn't work for me as a couple, especially the main couple. They weren't "wow they're perfect for each other and they make each other so happy" to me and they also weren't the alternative "fully toxic and unhinged" like VegasPete. They were just kind of a weird in between where I didn't actually enjoy them together and them breaking each others trust just got so repetitive and uninteresting. I liked them in episode 6 when they were stranded in the woods but the show just never did anything with what they set up in that episode
So we're just going to ignore Kinn and Porsche being cousins? "Paulina there are so many more problematic things in this show" Ok I know. But still. Korn and Nampheung aren't blood related, sure, but Korn sees her as his sister and Porsche as his nephew so yeah. Still weird
The whole Porsche's parents thing was dumb and not interesting. It took so many turns and got so convoluted at the end and not in an engaging way, just in a messy way. Korn dealt with absolute zero consequences and it just felt like a cheap way to add more depth to the show but it really didn't. And Kim digging into Porsche's parents' death was also just kind of there and then it wasn't.
Maybe if they had taken the mafia plot seriously and written like. A legit plot and not this vague mess, there wouldn't be any need for more family drama
AND ANOTHER THING. KinnPorsche needs to decide what it wants to be. Are you a dark mafia thriller? Are you a comedic slap-stick spin on the mafia genre? A rom-com? Girl make up your mind. The tone was so inconsistent that it took me out of many moments. And here's the thing, I've seen people mesh more serious plots with comedy and it's worked! For example, The Heart Killers really worked for me. They set up the mood in episode one. The opening scene is a murder and then fun bowling. We get that there's going to be an interesting blend of both in episode one! And when they have serious moments, it's allowed to be serious without a joke in it. And it was marketed as a rom-com with assassins, so we knew the vibe that was being set! But here? Episode 1 is decidedly not a comedy and takes itself seriously. Episode 2 is a slapstick gag reel. The whole first half of the show was kind of hard for me to get through because they flip-flopped tones so drastically and couldn't make up their minds if they were taking this seriously or not. It felt like everything and nothing was happening. Porchay and Kim were an interesting couple to me, but felt like they were in a whole different series. Every episode felt like it was trying something completely different in terms of story and mood.
So...what did I think of it?
Well, it laid down really good ideas. It's a shame it didn't do anything with most of them. It gave me Vegas and Pete, who are their only strong, well-written characters with actual CONSISTENCY. And I'm aware that it was a huge shift for the Thai BL scene that allowed for so many more genres outside of High School/College Romances to enter the Thai BL mainstream. It had some really strong moments, but just so much holding it back, and so many missed opportunities. The script was like a rough draft. Not even. More like a mindmap of ideas they just spitballed. I'm just bitter about how good it COULD have been. And honestly, that's probably why it's still relevant and popular now. Because nothing is more engaging than a story that has a lot of potential to be good, because it keeps you thinking about it.

E👏P👏I👏S👏O👏D👏E SEVENNNN
We just started off with percy walking his way into crusty’s place like woah hold there buddy we’re starting quickly
the set is so pretty and colourful why couldnt everything else be like them ahem ahem waterland cough cough
Why do they know everything already 😭they’re really taking out the middle school cluelessness out of everyone in this show and its making me mad sometimes
What do you MEAN he casually has an entrance to the underworld?
walker’s acting was rlly good in this ep btw
The whole bed scene was so anticlimactic and quick STOP
”youre lucky we let you keep your head on” YEAH WELL SO IS DISNEY
grover just walking in like is it over now?? DISNEY I BEG OF YOU LET GROVER DO SOMETHING
grover’s squeaky ball to calm himself down😭 🥺
Sally and percy angst was not on my bingo card but here we are
WHEN YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO KEEP HURTING EACH OTHER 😭😭
That transition was neat
wow what a well lit underworld dayum
its confirmed percy and annabeth watched that movie
“Only suckers wait in line” savage
rip ‘we drowned in a bathtub’ hello ‘everyone is dying to some extent’
i dont know if its just me but i feel like the jokes and the humour of the show was more aligned to its pjo adult fans, rather than the books, which rick included middle school humor because that was what the initial audience was. I mean removing the fun of the lotus casino and replacing it with a scene of percy driving a car (which is an activity adults do) and the dying on the inside is something only adults in their quarter life crisis complain about
Idk it doesnt feel like annabeth is scratching cerberus because she genuinely likes dogs, it feels like more of a strategical move which i am not the happiest about BECAUSE I WANT SOFT ANNABETH
squeak squeak
PERCY PULLING ANNABETH UP FROM A CLIFF
”excuse me” i love how professional she is
i read so many fanfics and theories on how the fourth pearl would go missing?? And grover lost it??? Thats it???
I hate that principal why are you taking something a 10 year old said and say he needs ‘psychological monitoring’?? Hon he drew a horsie with wings that he claimed he saw, he doesnt need to go to a psych ward or therapy or something
but imagine percy hearing this in the other room🥺
I feel like all of them have a reason to get rooted and stuff in asphodel but its apparently only annabeth so
not grover seeing two of his friends turning into trees🥺
Idk grover’s not that emotional at all about anything?? Hes supposed to be scared and on the verge of tears 24/7? Not aryans fault just the writers
ANNABETH STRESSING ON THE FACT THAT THEY NEED TO SAVE PERCYS MOM TOO 🥹

Percy rlly just said “periodt💅”
They really copy pasted hades from the musical why is no one talking about that?
walker’s acting>>>>>
why are you trying so hard to get rid of me 🥺
THE WHOLE SALLY AND POSEIDON SCENE 😭 NO SALLY U ARE NOT FAILING
I love the fact that percy’s still chilling there
I WAS ACTUALLY EXPECTING POSEIDON TO GO ACT AS A WAITER TO TALK TO PERCY LOLL
what do you mean they have to find the helm too???
why no one help grover up??
poseidons speech as percy gets up and looks at ares is peak cinema
#General thoughts: its not as cramped as i thought it would be thankfully#But still there was so much going on#percy jackson#rick riordan#pjo fandom#annabeth chase#percabeth#pjo#heroes of olympus#pjo tv show#pjo tv series#percy jackon and the olympians#percy and grover#percy pjo#percy series#percy and annabeth#annabeth#grover

My IRL ex who lives abroad now is dating my online friend who also lives there and I am deceiving them, AITA?
All of us are Asian, 29. Fake names are used.
My ex (Fred) was my childhood best friend, we grew up together in the same conservative society, people expected to see us marry since we were kids, all that jazz. At 18, we both moved away and kept up LDR. Moving meant big changes of course, I was in a huge city and I had internet access for the first time. I became a BTS fan in 2013, I started creating and reading a lot. I joined tumblr, made friends from all over the world. I was being radicalized rapidly, and I figured out I was bi too. My world was suddenly a million times bigger.
He however, didn't change much. He was scientific minded unlike most people here and his friends were all STEM kids but they were still functionally right leaning. He was racist when it came to BTS or East Asians in general. He was ignorant and happy to ignore queer existence, he used to say things like queer people needed to be shown the right path. We were turning out to be quite the opposites. Eventually we broke up. He was heartbroken, he tried to drag me back in many times and I avoided him like plague. I managed to ditch him completely when we were about 23. He left for USA to study.
Around the same time I befriended one of my closest online friends, Daphne. We lived in the same state but she was always traveling so we never got to meet. We're both hellsite veterans and keep our identities under lock & key so we don't know our real names or exact place of work, but we know each other's deepest kinks and childhood traumas, and stories about our exes. We both had the same kind of interests, politics, and fandoms, we're both bisexual. I've also come out as a trans man a few years ago and I go by a masculine name online, can't transition IRL. Daphne's known me since my girl era. Daphne left for USA last year for her Masters.
Now the wild part, by some twist of fate, Daphne met Fred who's also working on his Masters in an adjacent field. It is by no means a niche subject and USA is the fourth largest country, they still found each other. He sang in our first language at some party, he's very hot, and... he's into BTS like her. Wild. So they're now dating.
They started following each other on twitter and he followed a bunch of her friends including Me! We have exchanged pleasantries and while on his account he has his real name and location, mine is a mixed bag account with my fake name and my (sfw) queer creations all over it.
I know who He is but he doesn't know who I am, he thinks I'm just one of Daphne's dudes, and Daphne doesn't know that she's dating my ex who she had promised to drop into the Challenger's Deep (joke). My reasoning for hiding the truth is-- It's still not safe for me to be out IRL and he can mess it up. I remember his bigotry, I hate him, I have every right to avoid him and here that means not revealing my identity. But it's been years so maybe he has changed, and Daphne is my friend. So, I feel like a massive ahole for not telling her at least. At the same time she really did hate my racist homophobic right leaning ex a lot, so knowing the truth will make things awkward and I don't want to lose my friend.
So, there you have it. AITA?
BTW, no I'm not into BTS ships or reader insert fantasies, that's not what I create. I know someone would ask about it so there. I'm also Not attracted to Daphne, if I was I'd have asked her out straight away, I don't play around about my crushes.
What are these acronyms?

"there is still time" applies to any aspect of your transition btw
been on hormones for a while but want to stop? then stop
been using the same name for years but it doesn't feel right anymore? change it
been using the same pronouns for years but they don't feel right anymore? change them
the right people will accept you
i've been using the same name since i was 16, including for important documents in college. i'm entering grad school in the summer and have been working towards a legal name change and decided that the name i chose 5 years ago at 16 isn't for me anymore. i appreciate the value it had, but it's not something i want to keep. i've been changing my name socially over the past few months and everyone, cis and trans alike, have accepted it with no issues. obviously, that's not going to be true for everyone, but a lot of my mental block in changing (as i've thought about this many times before) was that i didn't think other people would accept it because i've held onto the same name for so long. but people have been more quick than me to changing my name; they've been doing a lot of heavy lifting for me and it's honestly so wonderfully surprising to see that kind of support

Short Note on Diversity in novels...
During a certain writing event that starts with N, I often tried to research and find ways to write more diversity.
So there were ten rounds of people on both sides saying, "Don't include it for clout" and "don't do it to be token."
For me, these days, I add diversity because it's my lived experience and often it solves plot issues. No, really. Sometimes the character just shows up and I'm thinking, you're not acting how I thought, you're not acting NT. Could you be ND? If so, what type are you?
And then doing to research to lean into it rather than spending time taking it out is a lot more helpful to the story because how they act is rooted into the basis of the story.
People tend to think that adding diversity "adds more problems". But I kinda think adding historical accuracy or race diversity to NYC or off-hand mentioning that Rromani exist in a Europe setting solves issues like "Hey, here is an entire group that is dedicated to trading! You no longer have to question how Silk got to Europe." might give a richness and feel more accurate?
The fact that people couldn't figure out during that event that PoCs have relatives was wild to me. lol "I couldn't possibly write more than one Black person." Wha—where do you think Black people come from? Also Queer people would attract Queer people too? NDs attract NDs? So the idea of the lone gay (usually Black if they are going Intersectional) dude being the ONLY one in the entire world, is wild to me. You don't think the Black dude has a Black friends and maybe other PoC friends, because ya know, Black people have to hang around only white people and never know other Black people? You don't think the lone gay dude might want to do more than "fashion", "hair", "crafts" and actually date another gay guy? Just asking.
So usually, for me, it helps solve dilemmas. Like hey, if this group of people have known what it is like to handle horses for thousands of years, maybe they can help solve this plot dilemma with a horse. Let's research their group and how they handle horses because my characters don't come from a nomadic horse tribe.
This character doesn't seem to want to date anyone. Why? Could they be... ace aro? If so, what kind? If they aren't, why haven't they? or are they really aro/ace but haven't faced it yet and thus are being unintentionally destructive (BTW, this was me at one point when I didn't understand I was aro/ace and yeah, not my finest hour...)
It doesn't have to be a big deal, the big deal is to make sure to back it up with research even if you belong to that label.
For me, being NB, I had to research trans (binary) people better. Also wrap my head around the European version of trans rep, which I still don't always understand fully. The whole, you must when transitioning a character, make it painful? Why??? Like isn't there Queer and trans joy in transitioning and not all of it is surgery? Yeah. But understanding other perspectives than your own can help shake loose your story to give different flavor to your characters so they aren't "Token" and you can rep various PoVs, even if they aren't center stage. (Some of the you musts also didn't make sense to me... but I've posted those.)
But yeah, sometimes adding diversity helps save you having to rewrite the whole thing. And it solves plot issues—like having the Harfoots kinda like Rromani/traveling Jews solves how to get Gandalf safely from Point A to Point B. Having the elves being various skin colors solves why the spawning place for elves is roughly 30 degrees north which, BTW, lines up with the races on Earth at that latitude. Sometimes making the person Jewish explains why they are so good at inane arguments. lol (Saying this as a Jew... I can list the inane arguments my family has had). So yes, sometimes adding diversity helps rather than hinders and gives you more events you can add.
Your characters are meeting their grandmother coming from India while in Regency England! Well, you've just opened discussions on imperialism, food, language issues, generational wealth, clothing and questions about immigration and heritage. Plot bunnies galore. Are you stuck still? (BTW, this is accurate too).

I also want to say this as a transmasculine nonbinary person that I’ve seen a LOT of trans men be uncomfortable with the term being universalised to include them. Transmasculine started out as a nonbinary label (I think, I could be mixed up) that described enben who were transitioning to a more masculine point instead of a neutral one. Obviously trans men can use transmasculine if they feel like it fits, but still I think it’s best to not just lump us together with the label because there are so many trans men who aren’t comfortable with it (I’ve actually seen a lot of people saying that it straight up makes them dysphoric because they take it as being seen as less of a man)
Same goes for non-transmasculine afab nonbinary people— there’s actually a lot of people calling to just get rid of the terms because they see it as just an indicator of agab. I’ve actually encountered more transneutral afab enben who hate being called transmasculine than I have trans men who hate it. It makes sense, the entire point for transneutral enben is transitioning to some sort of complete middle, or outside of gender alltogether, and aligning them with a specific gender is not only just incorrect but also very uncomfortable and dysphoria inducing for a lot of them. A lot of people also really don’t like the idea of t being ‘transmasculine transition’, which I totally get because I feel the same way when someone says that t is inherently ‘male transition’
(btw this is all stuff I’ve heard from these groups, I’m not just saying what I think goes through their heads or anything)
On a personal note, I also don’t like the universalisation of it because it feels like aligned enben can’t really have a term to describe ourselves— like, being a transmasc or transfem nonbinary person is a very complicated experience, most of us really struggle with this sort of balancing act of androgyny and maleness/femaleness, we’re like an in-beteeen of an in-between and it’s really fucking hard to deal with. It would just be nice if we could have our own label and space to discuss it and help each other with it. But I also get that now a lot of trans men resonate with the term and it would very much be a dick move to just say ‘nope, you can’t use this anymore, fuck you lol’, like, no
idk, I think about this a lot and the topic comes up quite frequently so I have a lot to say on it, but I can’t exactly articulate it, so I hope this made sense sorry
if anyone has sources to show otherwise i'd be happy to see them but i've always been under the impression that "transmasc(uline)" and "transfem(inine)" were umbrella terms first and foremost, with origins in the world of medical transitioning, particularly HRT, that sought specifically to include non-binary people and therefore not imply that everyone going through [medical] masculinization or feminization necessarily identifies as a man or a woman. whether the end goal is conceptualized by the individual as a masc/fem role, it's just a matter of having useful, succinct language to describe shared experience. i really don't see it as denoting agab any more than the term "trans man/woman" does. like if you really are not comfortable denoting your agab at all, it sounds like you're not comfortable talking about being trans period.
as for the binary trans men who hate it i'm gonna be real, i cannot comprehend being mad about someone using an umbrella term simply to address you and others who have significant things in common with you in one breath. i'm a binary trans man and i won't lie, i have had my phase of whining about being "lumped in with non binary people," but like... that's what it was. it was a phase that i'm over because i've grown up and now realize that it doesn't actually dilute my identity to simply have things in common with other people. it would be like a square being mad about being called a rectangle because "you're erasing the fact that i am SPECIFICALLY a square!" literally no, no one is erasing anything. especially not in the context of a poll that's just trying to not draw really arbitrary lines, and which you also literally don't have to answer.
i think it's completely valid to be made dysphoric or uncomfortable by any terminology, but there's a point at which you kind of have to accept that that is a you thing? if a term's literal function is to be inclusive and you feel excluded somehow bc you don't like that you're not being acknowledged as fundamentally different than the others who that term applies to... like i'm sorry, that's kind of ridiculous. you have to accept that it's ridiculous and not anyone else's problem.
also i truly think that if it's coming to contentions such as "just because i'm a man doesn't mean i'm masculine" or ppl otherwise trying to draw hard lines between masc and man/male as definitions... i truly think you are just trying to make this more complicated than it is. like we do need words to describe things, lol.
in any case my thing - at least on this blog - is always gonna be in the context of making polls. firstly i'm working with a character and option limit. secondly, the questions being asked make it sometimes relevant to use some terms that lump groups together, denote agab, etc. the more i think about it, i don't think there's going to be a solution that satisfies everyone, and i also don't think that there's a huge problem with that.
(btw none of this is directed at anon, you articulated yourself fine, i'm just jumping off of your talking points)
edit: irt anon not liking the universalization of "transmasc" - it just occurred to me, would "transmasc nonbinary" not simply work? like it seems to me that you just need to add the word nonbinary and now you're gucci
