Meine neue Notizen-App Notesnook (seit Anfang Februar 2025)
Google Drive (seit etwa 2006).

Quietly envious of Firefox modders like I was of UnixPorn rices when I was a lowly Rainmeter user.
---
I think I started out as an ElementaryOS user (it was sleek and pretty.) It was frustrating to use, something was always broken and someone related to the project was always in drama so I moved back to Windows. The funniest thing about my first installation of Elementary was that the install was broken and you had to rename a folder and add a file for it to work.
Came in-and-out of Linux with some Debian flavours. Settled with Ubuntu because I wanted something with a large enough community that I could have someone else give me fast solutions to problems that come up.
Changed my window manager from Budgie to i3 and ended up with my first rice that was super helpful when I didn't have a mouse for my half-dead laptop. Now I dual boot Linux + Windows and also switch between budgie, i3, and gnome depending on the aesthetics I want that day. I will also say that I wish I never upgraded to Windows 11 because WSL is broken for me. (If I'm doing something wrong let me know pls). If you're considering Linux then this can help you choose a distro that will suit you.
---
For spicing up Windows:
Wallpaper Engine
Fences
Rainmeter
TaskbarX
More things at Deviantart like pretty cursor sets
It is amazing how my software life always evolves because I'm chasing the next pretty customisable thing (and I did NOT have enough RAM for Windows + programs).
---
At my last job I ended up buying an extra 32gb because just running to preview my PRs would routinely crash my laptop. We weren't even sure it was the space issue at first because everyone else had Macs so no one could reproduce my problem 🥹

(OOC) Hey, do you know of any other cool rainworld ask blogs you could recommend to check?
I sure do!
@thunder-wolf64 is working on an AU in which one of Arti's pups (the green one, here named Sizzling Waters) gets adopted by scavs, and later reunites with his, erm, mentally unstable mom. If you are a reader who wants to see an AU with evil Arti, you will certainly enjoy Thunder's creations.
@threestarsaboveclouds is an iterator ask-blog that belongs to @delta-orionis, their posts are LONG and full of lore and I am honestly in awe people like Delta give so much to the RW fandom - it's free, high quality entertainment done purely for hobby. I have a lot of respect for their work. Besides, TSAC's color palette is very striking, which is what has initially drawn me to this AU.
@ask-the-colony-tree-siblings is @mushroominaforest's ask blog, and in this AU Arti and Hunter are siblings! Also, Mushroom's art style is a treat and immediately recognizable and I'm happy when i see it pop up in RW tag.
@firecracker-pup is run by @batnip; in a way it's a sibling-askblog to mine because both of our AUs center around the reinterpretation of Artificer's blue pup.
Honorable mentions:
@spotsupstuff's takes on RW lore and all their work surrounding iterators (my biggest blind spot) had my jaw drop to the ground and roll off into the seas - it's brilliant. I kid you not when I say I have +20 tabs open right now waiting there so I can binge-read Spot's posts once I get a free evening. There's so much of it... and I am ready to feast.
@opashoo has been working on a conlang for slugcats that I am 100% going to use in my AU. If you want to see amazing RW animations, art, and lore discussions, please follow her!
I'll admit, I feel like a lot of ask-blogs have died in the last 6 months? A handful of artists that were considered big - left the fandom. I'm not quite sure why that happened, but I'm hoping that the Watcher DLC brings some of them back (maybe).

Will be actually watching RWBY instead of just keeping tabs on it 'cause I need a new personality for the foreseeable future.
Thoughts on the first trailers ahead...
Red (Riding Hood):
- "Summer Rose: Thus Kindly I Scatter." That's a nice thing to have on one's memorial stone. Especially if you get cremated. Or in this case, can turn into flowers am guessing.
- I too want to disappear in a flurry of roses.
- The lyrics of the song playing here give glimpses of Weiss, Blake and Yang... "White is cold and always yearning, burdened by a royal test. Black the beast descends from shadows. Yellow beauty burns... gold." NOICE!!!
- Blood turning into rose petals is a nice touch.
- The music here is making me want to go on a medieval adventure.
- The fuck. A gun that can turn into a scythe too?! 🤯❤️‍🔥👏🏻
- Ruby killing wolves when she is supposed to be inspired from Little Red Riding Hood makes me happy.
- Holy hell. Badass two-in-one weapon being wielded badassedly.
- The background score used had such a haunting quality to it. Much kudos to the people behind the piece.
White (Snow):
- I love that it starts with a quote. And a good one at that. Gods, am already falling.
- The Schnee are in total three siblings, if I remember right. When Weiss is singing, it begins with one shadow. Then two. Followed by there being three lights on her, and it gives the stage three folks beneath her own self. Am I reading too much into it?
- Weiss fighting a big knight-like figure. Snow White is delivered to the jungle by a soldier. Perhaps I am forcing the parallel, but I like it.
- The song in this one is giving me chills. Amazeballs.
- Okay, the fade to black got me for a second. I thought it would end here.
- Weiss really be regal elegance personified. Her fighting style is so put-together. That bitch-slap from the giant knight really drove it in.
- Her sword has colourful modes of varying prowess. Probably not queer coded but that won't stop me. ✨🌈💖
- The stepping bases Weiss makes out of thin air, are they snowflakes?! The designs on them look so intricate. WoWie.
- Huh. I thought the mark on her left eye was an injury bleeding. Apparently not. Whoa.
Black (And the Beast):
- This one also has a quote. Which makes sense 'cause she be very well read from what I have heard. I don't know why, but I think Yang's trailer won't have an opening line like this. Or if there is one, it would be something funny.
- The setting is extra beautiful here. Red trees. Ugh. Really does something for my brain.
- Oh my Gods. Blake turned to the guy and said okay and now I must protect her at all costs. Am sure she can do it herself, but still.
- Holy hell. The hilt of her sword can turn into a lasso gun?! Brilliant.
- So this is Adam. His katana-like weapon is the only thing I want of his. And maybe his shoes. And pants. And mask. And jacket without the embellishments. And shirt. And hair... Fuck. I will just kill him to get them all. 😤😈😶‍🌫️
- Already proving he don't deserve the good swag. The way he says he will set the charges... Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. The crew members didn't do anything wrong. Thank you Blake for thinking of them.
- She looks to the side sadly and it makes me wonder if this isn't the first time such a conversation happened.
- Also, two different songs play for Blake's trailer. Both are awesome. And the second one feels like it's supposed to be for the Faunus species.
- Adam may look good, but the heart within is ghastly. That is why he is the beast who got left behind. YAYYYYYY!
Yellow (Goldilocks):
- Holy shite. Yang's quote hits the hardest for me somehow. I was so wrong and yet so happy about it.
- So this is the famous motorcycle am assuming. Coolio. It's making me want to learn how to ride a bike just so I could work this beauty. 🤩🤌🏻🫂
- Little umbrellas are one of the best things in life. I approve.
- "You can call me sir." And she has him follow through... Oh my Gods. I want to be her but since that's not possible, I want her to teach me her ways.
- Yang uses gauntlets for hand to hand combat which double as bullet shooters. And the way she reloads them... can she get any better?!
- Also, Junior is the bear. And is it just me or do Miltia and Melanie look like Ruby and Weiss wannabes?
- Yang's trailer is the culmination of all the songs used in the ones before, and then we hear hers... It's making me feel things.
- Super Saiyyan. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! And her eyes turned red. Huh.
- Aye, we meet again. Ruby and Yang truly are siblings... "It's a long story." LoLLL! She will probably tell her what went down later. Keep the might of her legend alive.
The fight scenes are well-executed. The music is immaculate. The moon appears to be breaking into pieces. I am ready.
(Follow in the footsteps of my parents and refrain from spoiling me!
Also, someone should gift yours truly all of the weapons from this show. Pwease. And thank you.)

Lancer Tactics devlog
I'm gonna try out posting my ~monthly devlog roundup here as well. These suckers are glorified changelogs with anecdotes and gifs galore. Let me know if this is something you like seeing show up on your dash?
Map Editor
Got units able to be placed/deleted/moved in the mission editor
Tumblr media
Can paint/remove command zones in the editor
Can paint minecraft-like terrain blocks in the editor
Tumblr media
Can paint/rotate multi-tile props in the editor
Tumblr media
Can edit unit character sheets and portrait via the editor
Tumblr media
3D maps
Did a bunch of art tests with 3D mech models, provided by GeneralChaos, which we ended up deciding not to go with to keep things simple.
Tumblr media
To avoid the can of worms that is animation, we'd have to lean into a static "tabletop minatures" aesthetic which we decided is not a style we want to be stuck with. By sticking with 2D sprites, we avoid falling into a sort of uncanny valley; it's easier to get away with not animating a 2D sprite than it is for a 3D model.
Tumblr media
We also experimented with 3D terrain. We decided to make a rule that the visual style for a piece of terrain should match its mechanical effect: obstructing terrain that you can't move through, such as rocks or buildings, will be in 3D, while non-obstructing terrain like trees will stick with 2D sprites.
Tumblr media
Hooking up the 3D camera to follow events like movement and attacks did a LOT for making it starting to feel like it's cohering into an Actual Game™
Tumblr media
Implemented cover! And an attack preview! Cover works by aiming a ray from the target to the originator (technically to and from each voxel of each, respectively, to handle size 2s shooting above size 1 cover) and tracking all the terrain blocks it hits (how we'll handle non-terrain hard cover TBD). I think I have it working according to Perijove's cover rules manual, but I'm sure there'll be edge cases to work out. This is a case where things are significantly simplified by working in squares instead of hexes; hexes have a lot more possible weird angles you have to deal with.
Tumblr media
Re-added what I'm stubbornly calling Combat Popcorn; little bits of text that pop out when you use abilities and attacks.
Tumblr media
UI & game screens
Added ability for the engine to show UI that's anchored to the game world via a little word bubble line but also stay on screen as the camera moves around.
Tumblr media
Got word bubbles working; you can now write dialogue in the mission editor, hit playtest, and see it work in a mission! (it does actually translate correctly now; this gif is just from a bug I thought was funny)
Tumblr media
Got ability effects mostly behaving appropriately again, including muzzle flashes. The easiest way to handle them ended up being NOT billboarding them so they always face the camera (like all other 2D sprites in the game); instead, I put them on a plane parallel with the ground and just spin them around the unit to point at wherever their target is.
Tumblr media
Did some work ironing out our tooltip system. The standard in CRPGs these days is this kind of nested labyrinth of tooltops that you see in Baldur's Gate 3:
Tumblr media
I Did Not Want to try and figure out how to wrangle that much UI, so we're instead opting to cap the nested tooltips at the second layer. You can lock a general tooltip for e.g. an action and then mouseover various items within that tooltip to get glossary definitions...
Tumblr media
...and then instead of having those glossary tips be lockable/mouse-overable themselves, I collect all related terms to that glossary definition and let you tab through them.
Tumblr media
Added skin overlay functionality to the portrait maker, enabling textures like scars, tattoos, stubble, and vitiligo to be applied to just the skin and not extend off into space.
Tumblr media
Midway through writing this update, Carpenter sent me this gif of the randomization button working! There's a still a bunch of skintones/assets missing and a few are a bit janky, but it was exciting to start seeing the range of these lil freaks (affectionate) that this editor can create.
Tumblr media
Mourning cloak license!
This is the one I'm probably most excited about: I did a bit of a content dive and implemented a basic character sheet + all Mourning Cloak traits and equipment. They don't have fancy graphics yet, but the weapons and systems can be added via the character sheet and used in-game.
Tumblr media
It took a little under a day, including adding soon-to-be common mechanisms like bonus damage. This is great news in that it means the engine we've been building for so long in the abstract seems to do a great job in handling comprehensive actual game content, and that it looks like we've set ourselves up for success when it comes time to buckle down on churning that out.
I'm sure other licenses will come with unique difficulties (I fear the day it comes time to do the Mule Harness // Goblin CP) but I'm feeling good about it!
Vertical slice?
Taking a step back, the pressing question on my mind has been "when will we have a playable early access build?"
I was originally hoping for Feb/March, but what we've internally been referring to as the "3D cataclysm" has pushed everything back by at least three months, so the target for the first alpha build is now in May. So, ah, thanks for your patience! Seeing things come together, I've become more and more convinced that moving to 3D was the right call.

Hatake Kakashi Headcanons
All right. It's time for some of my husband's headcanons. I consider Kakashi my husband. So I have to make some headcanons for him.
Tumblr media
Known
Birthday September 15th
Zodiac Virgo
Height 181 cm
Weight 67.5 kg
Blood type O
Hair color silver/gray
Eye color gray
Missions completed 1,141
197 D
190 C
414 B
298 A
42 S
Fighting
Jutsu: Tai and Nin
Kekkei: Sharingan
Hidden ability: Kamui
Style: Tracking/Assassination specialist
General
This man is an introvert.
Favorite colors: black, grey, green (neutral colors)
Reads Icha Icha in public
Work smarter not harder
Is late to things that aren't important
Sees KIA stone in morning
Appreciates his comrades more than he lets on
If you can't find him, he is reading or working out. Most likely reading.
If you REALLY can't find him, he is trying to hide and keep away from people.
He is straightforward and doesn't beat around the bush. Especially when it is something he likes.
Kakashi does smoke, only when extremely tired and stressed, like after a tough mission. Other than that, he won't smoke.
Will. Do. 400. Crunches. For. The. Fun. Of. It. Basically any kind of exercise for the hell of it.
His spacial awareness is insanely keen.
The moment he walks into a place or room, he already has a plan in case things go awry. He has an exit path separate from the front. He already has tabs on civilians and potential allies. On top of that, he already can sense those who have ill intent.
Plays dumb so he doesn't have to interact or get involved.
Has hyper focused on something and missed a conversation point.
Has fallen out of bed.
Has fallen asleep with his gear on. Basically face plant into his bed the moment he got home. And didn't wake up until 12 hours later to go to the bathroom.
He always throws up an aloof facade so he throws his opponents off. Acting bored or disinterested is the best way to rile up an opponent's anger, which can cause them to lose a fight.
Just the fact he shows up to something or for someone is a big deal. It means he supports them or it is important to him in a way, even if he is forced.
He gets really quiet and withdrawn when tired. Usually his book isn't even out by this point.
He gets more irritable when tired. He tries to keep his comments to himself and mouth shut.
Has massive respect for kunoichi. It isn't easy in the shinobi world and a woman has to be bad ass if they want to achieve recognition.
He is a stickler for teamwork and comradery.
He has a favorite tree he likes to sit in so he can watch over people while he reads.
He has sharp canines.
He has to stop and say hi to every cat and dog he passes. Just a quick pet and small hi.
He talks softly to the cats and dogs he greets, as if they understand him. When they meow or whine back, he will carry on a conversation with them.
Food
Favorite food Miso with Eggplant with salt boiled saury
Can cook
Likes simple meals
Doesn't like sweets
More savory food
Fish, beef, chicken, pork. In that order.
Can handle most spices.
Fast eater
Least favorite anything fried or sweet
Drinks
Water
Tea
It is rare, but in the mornings he will have Coffee, Black
Social drinker
Bit of a lightweight
Preferred drinks are Chuhai, grapefruit flavor usually. *Picture reference*
Tumblr media
Behavior
He is a gentleman, walks ladies home at night and makes sure his drunk friends get home.
He will get cats out of trees for civilians.
He will help the elderly with groceries.
Calm, cool, collected.
He is quiet and analytic, he likes to stay in the background and unnoticed. He will step in when he feels like no one will be able to handle the situation.
He is usually reading or day dreaming.
He usually speaks tactfully. But he does say what is on his mind.
Originally, he was strict and by the book. But after Obito's death, he became carefree and prioritized team safety over success of the mission.
He is reluctant to let anyone close to him. He fears losing them.
Modest about his abilities.
Senses
He has a heightened sense of smell and hearing.
He has a sensitive chakra network, able to pick up on people around him and distinguish friend and foe by their chakra signature. (Short range)
Hygiene
Showers at night
Smells like sandalwood and timber, earthy wisteria undertone
He brushes his teeth with mint and mouthwash
He shaves every morning.
Comb? What's that? Maybe once a week or so.
Fighting Style
Kakashi uses a ton of kicks to keep opponents at bay from getting too close to him.
INSANE core strength.
Fluid movements.
Constantly adapting to the fight, changing grips and angles of attack.
Will use chakra as a last resort.
Will use Sharingan as the ultimate last resort.
Will prefer to knock out or render unable to move. Will terminate as a last resort or if opponent is known in bingo book.
Has dealt with bingo book individuals before.
He usually waits to strike.
His Anbu training takes over and he strikes fast and lethal over power.
Lots of his fighting is based off Gai.
Kakashi knows the strongest and most powerful muscles in the body are the legs, which is why he uses them.
Sleep
He tends to sleep on his back.
He will wind up on his side.
He is a light sleeper.
Has insomnia.
He does like to nap during the day. Usually in a tree or outside. But he has napped at home.
He sleeps with a kunai under his pillow.
If he can't sleep he will read.
If that doesn't work, he will go for a walk around the village.
He enjoys taking naps with his ninken.
Chakra
First chakra affinity is Lightning
Second is Earth
Can wield all elements due to sharingan
Mental
Has PTSD
Depression
Insomnia, hence naps.
DISSOCIATION
He will have night terrors to the point he will purposely walk around the village to avoid sleep.

Google Keep (seit Juli 2015)
Google Drive (seit etwa 2006)

Hiii! :D
Hey, is it okay if you give me some tips on how to use Procreate? I'm most likely going to get an Ipad for Christmas, along with Procreate, and moving to another art program is hard 😅, plus, so I don't get confused on what to do lol
Ooh that’s awesome! 😍😍😍 I hope you get it! Procreate is AMAZING. Once you get used to it, it’s super easy to use. It’s not all that great with animation (just a bit glitchy when it comes to saving them), so I would still use a different app for that. But there are a bunch of really amazing brushes, so I definitely suggest playing around with them and figuring out which ones best fit your art style. 😁
Here are some brushes I personally love using:
•The Monoline brush for inking and line art
•Round Brush for coloring in larger areas
•Brush Pen for lines that taper off at the end, like hair or facial features.
•Dove Lake for texturing things like plants and trees
•Currawong for texturing walls and buildings
•I use Twisted Tree with a super light opacity to texture anything made of wood, like tree trunks or rafters.
•Clay on a lower opacity is good for texturing anything made of stone
•Wildgrass on a lower capacity can be used to make some cool textured grass
•And of course, I love to use anything in the Luminance folder to make things SHINY AND SPARKLY 😜🤣
Those are just a few of my favorites. There are some really cool features in the top tabs, too. A Drawing Guide, blur features, liquifying tool. You can duplicate layers, or change their opacity; all sorts of things that I’m sure different drawing apps have, but they’re super easy to use on here! And so far, I haven’t discovered very many glitches with the app (one app I used to have would crash on the regular, and I would lose an entire drawing I spent hours on. But as many years as I have had Procreate, it has only crashed two or three times and my drawing was exactly as it was when I went back into it).
One tip I would tell you to use that I do all the time is quick erasing: Tap the screen with two fingers at once, and it will erase your last action. You can do it numerous times to erase however many of your previous actions that you want. You can also redo those deleted actions by tapping the screen with three fingers at once. Just something useful that took me a while to learn about. 😊
Oh, and when it comes to saving a drawing, I tend to save it as a PNG; better quality.
If you ever have any more questions about it, feel free to ask me! 💜

Age Photos for Your Sims on Our Website! 🧸
Back when I was still working on the concept for the website, I thought it would be great not just to upload random screenshots of characters, but also to show how they grew and changed over time. How their facial features evolved, how their clothing style and hairstyles transformed… After some discussion, we decided to add a special section to the character’s profile — “Age Photos.”
📍 Where to find it? Go to any character’s profile, open the “Photos” tab, and then select the “Age Photos” section. We’ve included all life stages — from newborn to elder. You can fill in only the ones you need — the empty stages simply won’t be shown in the final profile.
Tumblr media
🖼️ How to add photos? Super easy! Just hover over the desired field, click it, choose your photo, and select the area you want to display. Chose the wrong image? No worries — you can easily replace or delete it. Just hover over the photo and use the buttons that appear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💡 Usage idea: For example, I create family trees not just for Sims, but for pets too! I only fill in the three stages I need — and it still looks great 😊
Tumblr media
✨ We have a few more ideas on how to improve the photo section, but we'd really love to hear your thoughts! What other sections or features would you like to see in the “Photos” tab? Let us know 🌳CREATE YOUR DYNASTY TREE 🌳

Occult Germany (2024) by Christopher McIntosh is described on the back cover as “recounting the longstanding magical tradition of Germany” and looking “at Germany’s rich and many-faceted spiritual heritage and explores Christian mysticism and theosophy as exemplified by Meister Eckhart, Hildegard of Bingen, and Jakob Boehme”. It has 16 chapters and is 233 pages in length including the acknowledgments and index. The chapter titles range from, the introduction titled Sky God Land, chapters Heidelberg:an enchanted gateway, following ancient footprints, fall and rise of the old gods, mystics, magicians and witches, symbol-strewn spaces, seers and somnambulists, pagan pathways and occult Germany today, amongst others. It covers Germany’s history from the first century CE with the writings of Roman historian Tacitus to the modern era, which is a substantial endeavor.
I was intrigued to pick this book up when I saw it at my local Barnes and Noble along with McIntosh’s other work Occult Russia which I haven’t finished yet as of the time of writing this review. I have delved into the Polish and Slavic side of my heritage, which has become the main focus of my pagan identity; however that is only half of my heritage and ancestry. I’m a pretty even split of German and Polish, Polish on my paternal side and German on my maternal side.
I have a college minor in Medieval History and both my parents are amateur World War II historians, but if you ask my dad, he’s a professional. This is part of the reason why I haven’t looked more into my German heritage because I grew up learning a lot about it’s dark times and I was pretty worried about what I would find, especially if I looked into my geneology because I know my mom’s dad was first Gen American and enlisted in the US Army for WWII and I have core memories hearing about how he was sent to a part of Germany where many of his family lived and him getting wounded in Wingen. I always joked growing up that my ancestors on either side were probably rolling in their graves when my parents got married; a German and a Pole.
I went into reading this book with some knowledge due to my upbringing and my medieval history knowledge so I didn’t anticipate learning a whole lot but as you can see from the photo attached to this post, I was greatly mistaken. I enjoyed McIntosh’s writing style and that in addition to the historical knowledge, he brought in personal experiences from living in Germany for many decades.
I also enjoyed reading about some of the sacred sites and recognizing them as places I have visited over the years and seeing them differently and hearing the history I didn’t learn because it wasn’t attached to warfare. Many of the tabs placed in this book were later added to my ‘places to visit’ list because even though I’ve been privileged enough to visit' Germany among other countries, some sites didn’t make it to my childhood travels. Places like, revisit Neuschwanstein castle where Ludwig II of Bavaria resided after building the castle after feeling drawn to the energies present, towns in the Baden-Wurttemberg mountains where in 2008 archeologists were exploring the Hohle Fels and found objects from the stone age, lower Saxony where Charlemagne’s Franish Army slaughtered approximately 4,500 pagan Saxons in the late 700 before being crowned by the Pope in 800. I would also like to revisit cities and towns that played a significant role in the Witch Trials of Europe where, in the 15th to 17th century more witches were tortured and burned at the stake in Germany than anywhere else.
Not only did I gain new knowledge and perspectives from the history illustrated in this book, I got new ideas about implementing more German occultism into my pagan practice. I’ve always worked with plant allies, such as Linden and Rosemary being my top two. McIntosh wrote “ trees are still personified among the Germans” (PG.37) and the author shared about the etymology (the study of origins of words) of some trees and plants many pagans and witches work with today. The Linden tree can be found in many Slavic writings and folk lore but I didn’t realize that “its name, Linde in Germany, is cognate with the verb Linden, meaning ‘to soothe (PG.37). McIntosh doesn’t just talk about German words for plants and other allies but also breaks downthe name of towns and cities and how many of them have pre-christian and lore based roots and have direct connection with the elements.
I enjoyed that McIntosh included photo photographs of some of the sites written about in his book, many of which were taken by the author.
I will add that after chapter 8, I didn’t make as many notes as previously in the book, not because it wasn’t interesting but mostly because by that time in the book, the author was discussing the 19th century and beyond. As someone intrigued by medieval history, this time in Germany’s timeline, wasn’t as interesting to me. As a note, this author doesn’t shy away from the controversial history of Germany. I did enjoy chapter 12th that was titled “Postwar Perspectives” and talked more about the modern impact of this time on the occult and how people view them.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and learned a lot and see myself re-reading it after getting through my ever growing TBR.

Paris plants its first "urban forest" on a busy roundabout as part of a plan to turn the French capital into a garden city
The city will plant 478 trees on the Place de Catalogne near the Gare Montparnasse train station as a flagship project in Socialist Mayor Anne Hidalgo's drive to cut noise, pollution and tackle global warming.
Tumblr media
The Place de Catalogne roundabout - designed by the late Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill in the 1980s - had for decades been a busy thoroughfare for cars. In recent years it has been transformed into a Dutch-style, bicycle-friendly junction that is also the start of a "voie verte" or greenway bike lane to the southern suburbs.

Paris City Hall aims to have planted 170,000 more trees between 2020 and 2026, and more than 63,000 trees have already been planted, opens new tab since November 2020.
Hidalgo's leftist-green coalition has also reduced the space for cars in the city, increased parking fees and is phasing out diesel cars from the city centre.
The city's latest plan is to drive large sports utility vehicles (SUVs) from its centre
