Oh FFS 🤦🏼♀️ did you see AL’s tweet? A 1:1 copy of Georgia’s haha OMG such couple goals post/story, again.
And why the heck would they of all people no want to see their own partners celebrated and encouraged? You know, those partners who ensure the nice cozy life they lead and who by their profession are dependent on the public and industry’s continued positive acknowledgment… Not that mutual support shouldn’t be present in any relationship, mind.
I'm in the middle of answering a few other Asks/writing a detailed post about some of Georgia's recent posts this week, so I will save a lot of my thoughts for there, but...yes. Yes, I did see AL's newest tweet, and I am amazed at her blatantly copying Georgia. Again...

I think the thing for me--other than the exact copying, which is just painful at this point--is that I would have zero issue with either one of these posts if it felt like there was even a smidge of affection behind them. If there is a joke here and that's how these posts are meant, they're somehow not reading that way at all. It also seems like both AL and Georgia think a joke and an insult are the same thing (and I realize that in British culture/sensibility that is often the case), but again, what makes it distinguishable is that underlying feeling of affection that is seemingly absent from these posts.
At what point does "Don't encourage him" actually start to mean, "I don't encourage him" or "I don't support him"? A person in a relationship can start to feel over time that their partner doesn't support or encourage them through their actions, even if the partner doesn't ever say those exact words out loud. And this would be no less egregious or worth calling out if it was Michael and David doing it to AL and Georgia, but it noticeably seems to keep being directed from one side to the other.
That is the other piece of this as well, that both of these posts are not one-off occurrences, but part of a larger pattern of comments that have been going on for years (which I've written about previously on my blog) and seem to particularly occur in response to David or Michael receiving any kind of praise or accolades in the press. The difference now versus in the past is that I've started to see some pushback in response to both. There are many comments on AL's tweet from folks saying that Michael deserves encouragement, and shouldn't it give one pause to consider that such a sentiment is so opposite to what his own partner is saying? That the one person who should be his number one supporter consistently reacts in the least supportive way possible?
And I agree with you as well about mutual support being important, which again is what makes all of this seem so unbalanced. David has frequently been supportive of Georgia, but with Michael and AL, neither one honestly seems that supportive of the other. For me it's also that Michael is so consistently and effusively supportive of David that it becomes even more noticeable when he doesn't do that with someone else. All Anna's tweet today did is draw even more attention to that and to the (less than positive) similarities between her and Georgia, and I imagine that is not at all what she was hoping for.
Those are my thoughts, at least. I know plenty of people will continue to see Michael/AL and David/Georgia as #couplegoals--and if that is how people feel, they are welcome to it--but for me, a relationship where the frequent centerpiece is putting down your partner on social media doesn't seem like one I'd want to be in. Glad to hear from others with your perspectives as well...

"But doesn't having a notion of 'balanced' combat inherently imply that all combat encounters are expected to be fair and winnable" well, no – it implies only that the GM has the ability to know whether a given combat encounter is fair and winnable.
There's a story that's been going around for decades about a Dungeons & Dragons party who encountered a large room full of treasure while exploring a dungeon. Immediately suspicious, they asked their GM a series of detailed questions about the room, but no obvious dangers were identified. Satisfied, they moved into the room – and were immediately set upon and eaten by the dragon that had been sitting atop the pile of treasure the whole time, which the GM hadn't mentioned because the players never specifically asked about the presence of living creatures within the room.
While this is obviously an extreme and ridiculous case, it illustrates an important point: as GM, you're the group's eyes and ears. If you don't describe something, the player characters literally can't see it – that dragon was effectively invisible from their perspective. The trick is that active malice isn't the only way to invisible-dragon your players; a group can also find themselves invisible-dragoned because the GM simply failed to provide sufficient information for the risk in question to be identified. This can happen through neglect, but it can also happen because the GM themself was unaware that the risk was present.
Now, hold on, you might be saying: the GM "plays" the entire world. How is it possible for the GM not to know that a risk is present? Well, that brings us back around to the subject of combat balance.
A game in which "balanced" combat is a meaningful thing to discuss is typically going to be one in which both the players and the GM are actually making strategic, tactical, and/or logistical decisions, rather than merely producing a description of their characters making such decisions. Without a good handle on the interplay of these decisions, it's completely possible for the GM to be wrong about the level of risk the scenario they've constructed entails.
That's actually pretty critical, because even if you don't care about the game being fair and winnable (and that's a perfectly valid stance), your players are still depending on you to be their eyes and ears, and to give them enough information to make good decisions about whether the fight in front of them is one they can win. A game where not every fight is expected to be winnable needs to be a game where the players have the opportunity to walk away.
No matter how objective you try to be, your own sense of the answer to that question is inevitably going to colour how you communicate about it. You being wrong about the level of risk at hand inherently increases the chance that your players will make bad choices. The party eating a TPK because they made a stupid decision is one thing; the party eating a TPK because they made a decision that looked reasonable from their perspective based on your unwitting miscommunication of the level of risk involved is quite another!
Sure, once the dice hit the table I'm probably going to realise that I fucked up, and I can adjust things on the fly to bring the level of risk that's actually present in line with the level of risk I communicated – but that's extra work I don't need with everything else that's on my plate. And that's a best-case scenario; if I'm running the game for a hardcore let-the-dice-fall-where-they-may group (and such groups tend to have a pretty significant overlap with groups that are cool with not every fight being winnable), I may not be able to adjust the fight's parameters on the fly without violating the social contract of the table.
Basically, whenever I see an OSR game with tactically crunchy combat brag about how its author never even thinks about "balance", what that's telling me is that running this game is going to create a whole lot of extra work for me as a GM. This is not a selling point.

Why will they choose you?
(future spouse/ lover/ partner)
This is a general reading meant for multiple people. Take only what resonates and leave out the rest.
Your feedback is much appreciated. If you find the reading resonated with you, leave a comment, I’d love to know 🎐
About me | Masterpost Book a reading with me - KO-FI (→ personal reading)
GROUP 1

The first thing they register about you is you're quite tempting to their eyes. Your physical appearance matches their type. Something about you is seen as ideal. They notice the effort you put in to look beautiful and they will always appreciate it. They want to get closer to you but somehow you elude their grasp, they can never fully get a hold of you. This will make them want you all the more. The mystique won't fade, there's always something to learn more about you, you keep them guessing. Understanding you will be their lifelong project that they might never complete, but they will try nevertheless.
They like your confidence. You know your worth, you can be proud, arrogant even, but they still like it because it signals that you know the good things in life. You know what to look for, what to chase, what to keep, what to discard. They would imagine life with you will be easier, as you help them discriminate and open their eyes to the things that hold values to them. They will also be proud of themselves for having you by their side. Not as a trophy, but like a mighty ruler, and they're your devoted subject. They sense that, with you, they will be able to weather any storm, they can change for the better. Talking with you will nourish their soul deeply. You will change many of their perspectives. You let them peer deeper into subjects that they never thought they would be interested in. But through you, they will begin to ponder life more seriously and see more magic.
What's interesting here is that you will allow them to express various different energies within themselves in love without shame nor reservation. You make them want to work harder, to embody both the feminine and masculine energy and balance them to be a better partner. They inherently sense that you can provide what they're lacking, they can learn from you and they can complement you too. Your personalities could be very different, opposite even, but somehow, they believe that you guys just fit together nicely.
GROUP 2

This person has a conflicting desire within them that they might not be aware of. They seek both challenges and peace within a relationship. They want someone who can stand up to them, even putting them in their place when they get out of line, someone with enough fire. But they also want someone who is laid back and introverted. This conflicting desire puts them in a dilemma and oftentimes, they find themselves in an unfulfilling relationship. The people they've been with were either too fiery or too timid. But they will find their wish come true in you, that perfect balance. You're both nurturing and strong enough to stand firmly on your own.
One of the reasons why they will choose you is that you will come at the right time of their life, when they want to settle down and have a stable long term commitment with someone. They might have had a player phase, chasing the high of romance with fleeting connections, performing as an ideal love interest. All of this will begin to wear out their heart. They will seek a more lasting companion and a deeper connection with someone.
They will also begin to realise their contradictory wish in a partner and learn to be more reasonable and compromise. You will make the compromise part easier for them as you two seem to mirror and complement each other nicely. You will never run out of ideas to talk about with each other. Both of you will learn to be a better listener, both will feel more brave to explore and exchange ideas that you might deem too outlandish to talk with other people. There will be many things that you can both teach and learn from the other person, so your dynamic will be well balanced, something that they've always wished for.
GROUP 3

This may sound like a contradiction but your future spouse will choose you because you're so different from everything in their life, like a true outsider, someone who they don't expect or imagine will come into their life.
When you come into their life, this person will be in the process of self improvement, of getting out of their shell and be more brave. They have a lot of fears, they're timid and shy. But at one point, they will realise that they can't be like this forever, they will miss out so much, waste their life to a limited and fearful existence. They will actively seek to change, starting from their mindset. They will begin to chase after their dreams, rise above the negative self-talk and gossip from other people. Many will try to dissuade them from moving forward, to keep them in their lane, keep them small and fearful. But your future spouse will try their hardest to ignore that and continue to tread towards their goals.
They will realise the importance of networking and put more effort in connecting with people. While they may not actively seek a partner, they will feel a longing for their other half. Someone to encourage them in their new journey. That's when you step into the picture. They will intuitively sense that you present a healthy choice, that life with you will be just "right", that they will feel nourished and can grow with you. You're someone whom they can imagine living everyday with, as a part of their life. They seek improvement and mastery and you can help them do that. Maybe your habits, your mindset just fit theirs. They will feel like their wish was answered, by embracing changes, the universe will deliver the right person to them and they're you.
GROUP 4

You guys might be friends for quite a while before they develop romantic feelings for you and make their intention known. In the beginning, they might be the chaser and you're the runner. You're always out of their grasp, you don't seem to be too committed to them, maybe you might even entertain some other options. They're the opposite of your light attitude. They're very serious and ambitious. When they want something or someone, they will devise an intricate plan to get to their target, even when they have to play the long game.
Not going to lie, They're tempted to tame you, to make you see them in a different light and commit to them. You present a much needed lightheartedness in their life. They're intense, usually, when they're attracted to someone, they make their intentions known immediately and proceed with the relationship at a fast, decisive speed. But with you, they can't, they will need to access a softer part of themselves, be more patient and intuitive, and they like being that.
They could have some secret parts of themselves that they hide from the world. They project a very strong masculine energy, being active and not very emotional. But with you, they can express their other hidden part, the one that is nurturing and vulnerable. They feel like they don't have to try too hard, to prove a point or to be constantly in a defensive mode. They can display their childlike enthusiasm, their playful spirit with you. They can trust that you can be their friend first and foremost.

How the Moon Signs Crash Out
For those who don’t know what crash out means here is the Urban dictionary definition: Means to get really mad or upset; lose all your self control.
We think the water signs would crash out but every element has a point of crash out when it deals with their emotions, read below.
Fire Moon
Fire moons are the most obvious “crash-outs.” They’re the first to crash out because they act impulsively; they don’t always think things through before reacting. So, why do fire moons crash out? It’s primarily over their pride. If you play with their image or challenge what they deem as right, they’ll crash out. If you try to make them seem weak, attempt to overpower them, or force them into a position of submission or docility, they’re going to crash out.
Fire moons also crash out if you try to make them understand your perspective—especially if it clashes with theirs—and they perceive it as the start of an argument. Any slight form of disrespect will set them off. If they feel disrespected in any way, they’re crashing out. Attempts to control them can also trigger this response. However, if you respectfully suggest something, they might listen. It’s when your tone shifts to one of disrespect—like raising your voice—that they crash out.
Ignoring a fire moon is another sure way to provoke them. They will crash out if you play with their image, reputation, or how they see themselves. Similarly, if you try to dictate how they should live their life or act smarter than them, questioning their intelligence or ability to think critically, they’ll crash out.
Honorable mentions for what might make a fire moon crash out include:
• If someone flirts with their partner, they’re crashing out.
• If anyone disrespects their kids, even slightly, they’re crashing out.
• If someone talks badly about their family, they’re crashing out.
• If a trusted friend betrays or flips on them, they’re crashing out.
Fire moons are the ultimate crash-out personalities. If you ever meet one, tread carefully. Anything they perceive as disrespectful could set them off.
Earth Moons
Earth moons are known for their calm demeanor. People enjoy being around them because they provide a sense of stability and avoid unnecessary intensity—after all, earth moons struggle to handle too much emotional or confrontational energy. However, certain situations can push even an earth moon to their breaking point. Here’s what can make them “crash out.”
Because earth moons are naturally calm, they are particularly affected by intensely emotional and confrontational individuals. When faced with someone who is provocative, blunt, or openly expressive without regard for consequences, earth moons can lose their composure. They simply can’t handle that level of emotional intensity and may react by “crashing out.”
Triggers for Earth Moons:
1. Financial Instability:
Earth moons are deeply connected to material stability. If they lose their job, experience financial struggles, or dip into negative balances in their bank account, they will crash out. The loss of any valuable material possession they hold dear can have the same effect.
2. Breakups:
After a breakup, earth moons often struggle with overwhelming emotions. Their inability to process intense feelings calmly can lead to a full crash out.
3. Friendship Fallout:
Earth moons value long-term friendships, so falling out with a close friend can cause a significant emotional reaction.
4. Missed Opportunities:
If they’re rejected for a job or an opportunity they were counting on for stability, they can spiral into frustration and anger.
5. Disrupted Environment:
Earth moons need a sense of order in their living space. If someone starts moving their belongings or changing things around them without permission, they’re bound to crash out.
6. Overwhelming Demands:
Earth moons value their personal time and space. If someone demands too much of their time and ignores polite requests for space, the earth moon will eventually snap.
7. Being Wrong:
Earth moons take pride in their logic and reasoning. If they believe they’re right about something and later discover they were wrong, it can shake their confidence, leading to a crash-out moment.
8. Emotional Pressure:
Pushing an earth moon to express emotions in a way that feels uncomfortable to them can cause them to react negatively.
9. Being Controlled or Dismissed:
If someone tries to tell an earth moon how to live their life—especially someone they don’t respect—they won’t take it lightly.
10. Prolonged Exposure to Emotional Volatility:
Earth moons prefer calm, stable environments. If they’re forced to deal with someone who is consistently emotional, moody, confrontational, or volatile, their patience will wear thin, and they’ll eventually crash out.
11. Dealing with Bullies:
Earth moons try to avoid conflict, but if they’re exposed to bullying behavior for too long, they’ll eventually lose their calm and lash out.
Honorable Mentions:
• Earth moons crash out over material possessions. If someone moves, touches, or disrespects their belongings, it’s a major trigger.
• They also struggle with emotional instability after a breakup, the end of a friendship, or job loss.
• Being wrong about something they were confident in can push them to react strongly.
• Prolonged emotional confrontation or demand for their time will wear them down until they snap.
Although earth moons may not seem like the “ultimate crash-outs,” they can go all-in when their stability and calm are disrupted. Once they reach their tipping point, their reaction is swift, intense, and affects everyone around them.
Air Moons
Air Moons might seem chill because they tend to intellectualize their emotions. People often perceive them as logical when it comes to feelings, believing that emotions don’t bother them much. However, Air Moons can ultimately be the biggest “crash-outs.” Let’s break down why Air Moons might crash out.
Air Moons often analyze and intellectualize their emotions because they don’t fully understand the emotional landscape. When they’re forced to deal with intensely emotional situations, much like Earth Moons, they crash out. However, Air Moons crash out in a unique way—they try to process emotions through communication and logic, often failing to let those emotions flow naturally. This can lead them to accuse or assume things about people and situations that aren’t true. They rely on patterns and past experiences to create preconceived notions, which only adds to their frustration.
Triggers for Air Moons:
1. Things That Don’t Make Sense:
Air Moons crave understanding and clarity. If something doesn’t make sense to them, they lose control and crash out. Their curiosity is so strong that when they can’t figure something out, they start assuming things, which only fuels their frustration.
2. Lack of Communication:
If they feel ignored or if communication isn’t flowing the way they want, Air Moons will crash out. They thrive on dialogue and connection, so feeling shut out is a major trigger.
3. Challenges to Their Intelligence:
Air Moons take pride in their intellect. If someone plays with their intelligence—makes them feel dumb, uneducated, or less knowledgeable—they’re bound to crash out. They need to feel five steps ahead of others, and any slight to this will set them off.
4. Opinions and Beliefs:
Air Moons are deeply attached to their opinions, even when they aren’t entirely logical. If someone challenges their beliefs too much or tries to “win” a debate, Air Moons will crash out. They always want to feel right, and being told they’re wrong about their life, thoughts, or perspectives is a surefire way to trigger them.
5. Threats to Freedom and Independence:
Any perceived attempt to take away their independence is an automatic crash-out moment. In relationships, if their partner becomes possessive, controlling, or overly emotional, Air Moons will react negatively.
6. Emotional Intensity:
Air Moons struggle with highly emotional people. If someone is too intense or moody, constantly expressing their emotions, Air Moons will eventually crash out. They can’t handle being around excessive emotions for too long.
7. Petty Triggers:
Sometimes, Air Moons crash out over minor things. If they don’t like the way someone talks to them, or if they’re in a mood, even a small annoyance can set them off.
8. Perceived Verbal Threats:
Air Moons are highly sensitive to words. If they feel someone is trying to intimidate, disrespect, or talk down to them in a condescending or sarcastic way, they will crash out.
9. Lack of Praise:
Air Moons often feel a sense of superiority because they intellectualize their emotions. If they don’t receive acknowledgment or praise for their ideas, logic, or reasoning, they’ll crash out.
10. Being Called Emotional:
Never tell an Air Moon they’re emotional. They refuse to see themselves that way and will crash out if you try to label them as such. Comments like “You need to get over it” or “You’re stuck in the past” will only fuel their frustration.
11. Overstimulation:
While Air Moons enjoy being social, too much time around others can overwhelm them. They’ll start to feel overstimulated, with too much energy and inconsistency in the environment, leading to a crash-out.
12. Inconsistency (From Others):
Air Moons can be unpredictable themselves—they might ghost people, not text back, or fail to show up. However, if someone else is inconsistent or unpredictable, Air Moons will crash out. They expect reliability from others, even if they don’t always provide it themselves.
13. Challenges to Their Identity:
Air Moons will crash out if they feel someone is challenging who they are as a person. If they think they can take on the challenge, they’ll fight back. If they feel it’s too much, they’ll still crash out, but in a more chaotic way.
Final Thoughts:
Air Moons may not seem like the ultimate crash-outs at first, but once their calm exterior is disrupted, they can spiral quickly. Once the air starts moving, it doesn’t stop—it becomes a whirlwind of frustration, overthinking, and emotional outbursts. Tread lightly around an Air Moon if you don’t want to witness their crash-out firsthand.
Water Moon
Water Moons are often perceived as the ultimate crash-outs, but the truth is they can be quite calm—until they’re pushed too far. People don’t always understand this about them. Let’s break down why a Water Moon might crash out.
Why Water Moons Crash Out:
1. Self-Protectiveness and Boundaries:
Water Moons are extremely self-protective. If someone invades their personal space, crosses their boundaries, or confronts them abruptly, they’re going to crash out. They don’t tolerate invasive behavior or anyone overstepping their limits.
2. Lack of Emotional Understanding:
Water Moons will crash out if their emotions are misunderstood. If they express their feelings and someone twists their words or tells them they feel differently than they do, they’re crashing out.
3. Emotional Reciprocity:
If a Water Moon opens up and shares their emotions, but the other person doesn’t reciprocate, they’ll crash out. Vulnerability requires mutual respect, and they won’t tolerate feeling like they’re the only one opening up.
4. Loved Ones and Family:
Water Moons are fiercely protective of their loved ones. If someone insults or disrespects their family, friends, or those they care about, they’ll crash out—especially if it happens repeatedly.
5. Intrusiveness:
Water Moons value privacy. If someone pries into their personal life, tries to psychoanalyze them, or pushes for details they aren’t willing to share, they’ll crash out. They only share what they want others to know.
6. Feeling Disrespected:
A Water Moon won’t tolerate being made to feel stupid, weak, or incapable. If someone tries to undermine their emotional intelligence or strength, they’ll crash out immediately.
7. Not Getting Their Way:
Water Moons are deeply connected to their desires and emotions. If they don’t get their way in situations that matter to them, they’re likely to crash out.
8. Lack of Love and Nurturing:
Water Moons need emotional nourishment. If they feel unloved, unseen, or untouched—whether through physical affection, kind words, or emotional support—they’ll crash out. A lack of care or affection is a significant trigger for them.
9. Stagnation:
If a Water Moon feels like they’re stuck in life, in “stagnant waters,” or unable to move forward, they’ll spiral and crash out. A sense of progress and growth is essential for their emotional well-being.
10. Breakups or Friendship Endings:
After a breakup or the loss of a close friendship, Water Moons can lose control of their emotions. The pain and emotional intensity are overwhelming, leading to a crash-out.
11. Feeling Betrayed:
If someone switches up on them—acting friendly one day and then cold or hostile the next—Water Moons will crash out. They value consistency in their relationships.
12. Volatile Environments:
Water Moons thrive in calm, emotionally supportive environments. If they’re surrounded by manipulative, cold-hearted, or emotionally unavailable people, they’ll eventually crash out. They also won’t tolerate rudeness or outright disrespect.
13. Feeling Unappreciated:
Water Moons invest deeply in their relationships and emotional connections. If their efforts go unnoticed or unappreciated, they’ll feel hurt and eventually crash out.
14. Being Pulled Out of Their Space:
Alone time is crucial for Water Moons. If someone tries to force them to engage when they need space, they’ll crash out. Respecting their need for solitude is key to maintaining harmony.
15. Forcing Realism or Logic:
Water Moons don’t like being forced into a strictly logical or overly realistic perspective, especially when they’re in an emotional state. If they feel pressured to abandon their emotions for practicality, they’ll crash out over time.
16. Dismissing Their Trauma:
Water Moons are deeply affected by their past experiences. If someone dismisses or disregards the emotional pain or trauma they’ve endured, they’ll crash out. Their experiences are integral to their identity, and invalidating them is one of the worst things you can do.
Final Thoughts:
If you don’t want a Water Moon to crash out, it’s important to respect their boundaries, emotions, and need for connection. Water Moons are like waves—when they crash, they can disrupt the emotional stability of everyone around them. Handle them with care, and avoid testing their patience. Once they reach their breaking point, they’re hard to stop.

Thankyou for stopping by let's dive in ☄️,shall we ?
Choose the pile you feel most drawn to 🧸

Pile एक
Pile 1 : your first valentine's day date might possibly be a 50-50 date like you couples splitting your bills or it could be like you both are always so busy so it took effort from both sides to have a valentine's day date together finally. It's gonna be a very planned and calculated date . You guys might also not show your truest self to your spouse on this date because either of you or both can have your guards up even though you're married. I also feel on this date you could also fight with eachother 😭 probably because of hiding something. I see 'hide' word is so prominent here . I wonder how you guys are so mysterious to each other . Mostly I see you guys could be trying local street foods , trying drinks here n there. Although I feel you both will be dressed perfectly for a date to bring the date date vibe . Having drinks on this could help both of you to loosen up a bit and open up to each other . This date will be a start for something new probably you could think of starting family or something else . This pile seems like both of you love eachother but also don't show it and hide it very well that you both seem to each other like enemies ✨ that's all pile 1 I hope you liked reading this pile happy valentine's day and bless you all 🎀💗
Pile दो
Pile 2 : your first valentine's day date is gonna be amazing I swear . They'll make you feel like a prince\princess . Almost worshipping you and giving all the power . I also feel your spouse will be older than you . So ofc they gonna spoil you it's natural to them and you gonna enjoy it . They'll surely take you on various activities for this date like taking some fun classes in day , eating local foods , taking you on shopping, then dinner night at a perfect place probably by river or seaside . This date will grow more love between each other . I get the vibe of ' material girl ' from this pile and I support you for this lol . You go guys . You deserve it all . Now from another perspective if we see this than your spouse could be bit more domineering in this date like those ceo and their girlfriends where ceo likes to eat at three Michelin star hotel and you enjoy your ramen and drinks but you're forced to go on the three Michelin star hotel date lol. I feel you'll act like a disciplined kid when in real you're so spoiled 🍃 and you just don't listen to anyone but you'll have to listen and follow them .that's all pile 2 I hope you liked reading this pile happy valentine's day and bless you all 🎀💗

Astro knowledge pt. 2
work by astrobydalia
Cancer rules hotels, motels, etc. Hotels are all about hospitality, making people feel welcomed, comfortable, provide for basic needs like a bed, food, etc. Of course this will differ based on quality and the kind of place but in general places designated to provide shelter and a place to stay are ruled by Cancer
When I learned this it made a lot of sense cause my mom has Groom in Cancer and 7th house ruler in the 4th house and she met her fs at a hotel. I know a couple who has Cancer ASC in their composite chart and they met at a hotel
Jupiter is a very unpredictable planet and a negative manifestation of it is that it can make things grow uncontrollably without reliable results. Jupiter can give blessings yes but it does not guarantee success. Those blessings are just opportunities but it's up to you what to do with them.
Astrologically, the key to success is Saturn. That's why success is so hard to obtain and it's a symbol of status or accomplishment. And yes this applies to whatever it is you consider success. Saturn is not about obtaining success in itself, it's about growth, the way we feel accomplished and successful as humans is when we feel like we've grown and flourished overtime. That's why it doesn't matter what your definition of success is, in order to get it you need to mature and go through sacrifices and lessons related to your Saturn placement.
MC/10th house = what success means to you Saturn = also related to what success means to you, but it can specifically tell you how to get it
Moon is related to wealth that's why it is exalted in Taurus!
Moon in a man's chart indicates his wife because Moon symbolizes the divine feminine. Venus is important too but ultimately a man will commit to a woman that satisfies his Moon energy. That's why it is often said that men marry someone like their moms or the way a man treats his mom is how he's gonna treat his wife
5th house rules your creative endeavors and the 11th house rules your public/clients/fanbase/etc. That's also why 11th house is related to money you make in your career (2nd from 10th). If you wanna have your own business you gotta look at both the 5th and 11th houses
Something I don't see people mention much (maybe because its obvious) is that Libra energy makes things to be balanced in itself because Libra is all about avoiding any extremes. Libra makes this to be on the "elevated" or positive side but always keeping it moderate. For example, if you have Libra ruling your money houses your income could be averagely decent, like you could make good money (cause, Venus) but you're not insanely rich either or it does not appear that you are (cause Libra also rule appearances).
Aquarius rules heavy cold winds (you know like those very heavy and erratic winds), that’s why it also rules over airports and planes. I've also seen astrologers say that back in the day, Aquarius used to rule over sailing of bigger boats which also needed heavier winds in order to move
We all know Leo rules inner child. One thing about children is that when you're a kid you kinda don't have a concept of others being their own person and having completely different lives (that's something Aquarius brings awareness to, that's why its the humanitarian), but rather kids tend to assume everyone lives the same way as they do. That's what happens with Leo astrologically, they tend to not understand or fathom or be interested in things that go beyond them or their experience. Their own perspective of life is their whole world and what they will project on everything much like the Sun project its own light into the world. In the case of very unhealthy Leo energy this can go as far as actively minimizing other's experiences and perspectives. When Leo does try to understand others, they have a tendency to circle it back to something they can relate to or is relevant to them or they can understand
There's also another side of Leo that rules teenage years since that’s the period of our lives where we are finding our identity/expression and also where we start to become more interested in romance and sex
In composite, the ASC is how the relationship started and how it generally comes across as but the 7th house is the dynamic the two people have between them, how they actually interact with each other
Both Aquarius and Pisces are the last two of the zodiac wheel and both relate to themes of evolving as human and elevating spiritually but because of this, these signs are the hardest to develop healthily and many people fail to do so. That's why you see many Aquarius and Pisces placements with a god complex or huge entitlement cause both share this sentiment of feeling 'different', more elevated or special than everyone else
Venus finds fall in Virgo bc Venus is a sex goddess, she rules abundance, sensuality, pleasure and indulgence. Virgo on the other hand is the virgin, she's minimalistic, cerebral and modest, she’s too much of a “prude” for Venus.
Since Pisces is the most empathetic sign, its opposite Virgo is one of the most unkind signs unfortunately. Pisces wants to find the beauty in all things and people (Venus exaltation) while Virgo wants to find the flaws and everything that is wrong and needs to be improved or fixed. Pisces is about accepting the "soul" of things while Virgo is attached to an idea of how things should be. That's also why Venus finds falls in Virgo because Venus is related to kindness (this does not mean Virgo Venus people are inherently unkind, this can manifest in any unhealthy virgo placement, it's just an astrological explanation)
Domicile/exaltation is not always positive. When a sign exalts a planet it means that it can enhance both its positive AND negative qualities. That's why exalted mars can manifest as toxic masculinity or why exalted Venus can manifest as textbook enabling behaviour. On the flip side, planets are its fall/debilitation are challenging placements because the positive qualities of the planet are weakened but at the same time its negative qualities can be neutralized. For example, Mercury debilitated can be less prone to pointless rambles and have a more focused intellectual approach, debilitated Venus can be less compliant, etc
The energy that rules horror astrologically is Pisces/12th house/Neptune, we usually associate it just with dreams and idolization but it actually has a creepy and twisted side to it. Neptune is all about blurring the boundaries of reality including what we judge to be good or bad (Virgo). It rules over dreams AND nightmares. Not only that but Neptune energy does not understand the difference between a dream and a nightmare. This characteristic can range from blindness to red flags all the way to having rather morbid fascinations.
Following the above, the association of 12th house with nightmares is also explained by Saturn finding its joy is this house (the so called 'bad spirit', the never-ending burdens that come to haunt you). However, as I explained earlier in the post, Saturn is the key to success so this means Saturn is the key to help you achieve your dreams (12th house)
Pisces/Neptune energy rules spirituality but at its lowest it can also be the most superficial and vain sign (again, the negative side of Venus exaltation) because Pisces also rules illusions and idolization. It can focus so much on portraying an ideal image that it does not dive deep within, wants to escape reality and live a fake ideal
In terms of performance, Leo is theoretically better at sex than Scorpio
How to read the chart of a Nation + some observations
Sun signifies the characteristic of the rulers and it also symbolizes what that country is all about if that makes sense. For example USA is Cancer Sun and they've always been known for they patriotism and how they're very attached to their past as a nation.
Moon represents the people (civilians, population, the society). The energy you will likely experience by actually spending enough time there and start integrating yourself with the people. For example New York has Aries Moon and a relative of mine who used to live there once told me jokingly "with all the hustle and normalized criminality sometimes it feels like a war zone here"
Ascendant is the general national identity they present, the first thing that comes to mind when you think about that place. I've also noticed the stereotypes of a nation a lot of times relate to its ASC. For example Canada (Toronto) is Libra ASC and they’re known for being polite and nice to everyone. Japan (Tokyo) has Virgo ASC and their known for being super diligent and clean (think Marie Kondo). USA (nation) is Sagittarius ASC and they’re known for being loud, entitled, optimistic, multicultural, a massive country, cowboys and country music, etc.

when they try to woo you
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
tags: early stage of relationship ; suggestive ; minors dni
Wriothesley
Lots of, I’m telling you, lots of cuddling and hugging. Wrio is very touchy
He tries very hard to be a real gentleman with you however it results in funny, awkward situations (which is so endearing of him)
Will talk a lot about his piercing telling you a story of each
Lets you touch his hair because you want to touch it
Can’t choose the proper colour pallette for his formal suit and ends up wearing the most laughable socks ever
Wants to show off with his bike and will certainly give you a night ride
Will come to your date half-sleeping after late night shift but still see you
Neuvillette
Would pull the chair for you at the restaurant 100%
Chooses the suit for your first date for a whole week in advance
Wants everyone to know that you’re his so will hold your hand at every possibility
He puts a lot of effort to be a perfect boyfriend so he’ll even offer to pick you up from work
Neuvi has a closed personality so he generally won’t be the first to kiss but if you do, he will certainly be the one to deepen it
Chooses the date place really attentively, remembering all your needs, food choices, allergies and the general vibe you give off
Is the person to spend the night with you completely without doing anything naughty besides sleeping
Pantalone
Would certainly wear a cologne with pheromones on your first date in order to woo you. Not that he’s insecure but he’d definitely like to add up to his charm
Very nice hair styling in gel and possibly perfumed shampoo with a sweet-spicy scent like amber
Neatly manicured nails (lol always in gloves)
Expensive gifts are must-have for him but sometimes he’s afraid he will scare you off with that so does that in moderation
Helps you do shopping, choosing the highest quality goods and balance your spending
Is actually a horny catastrophe but will never push you past kissing and cuddling if you are not ready. When you ask if he is ok with being patient, he nonchalantly responds that he is a grown man and can control his needs
Dottore
Different mask on every date
Gifts you his vial earring as a token of his affection
He’s not very touchy and it is exactly the problem! He doesn’t want you to slip off his fingers because of his personality, that’s why he offers you lots of phone calls in order to compensate some other aspects…
Will help you make choices in absolutely different aspects of life because he’s older and also has a unique perspective on things
Can definitely answer your message in the late night if you feel upset
Buys you concert tickets before you do it
Capitano
FLOWERS is a must have on every date with you. The bouquets he gives you are rich and radiant
He’s like a rose with sharp thorns and can demand lots of privacy in the early stages. If he doesn’t feel like it, he won’t go past hand holding and kissing
Asks you a lot about your previous relationships (if you have ones) because he genuinely want to learn more about you. Capi desperately needs to gather every single detail abt you in order to make his company as comfortable as possible for you
Will let you examine his helmet and will certainly let you braid his hair
Tells you epic stories about each one of his scars
Even exhausted from work and with tight schedule will agree to see you at least 3 times a week because he wants to stay close to you so much
Alhaitham
Hardly talks, prefers listening to you
Lets you wear his headphones, but worried you might not like his choice in music (mostly lo fi)
Loves hand holding with you. Does that on every date
Will make sure to finish your dates with kisses even if brief, he just needs your lips on his
Provides you with fast access to Akademiya library if you ever need that
Sits never in front of you, but next to you
Will take you for a late night date only to gaze at the stars afterwards. He finds it romantic and dreamy
Chews mint gum and wears fresh-smelling cologne in order to attract you

poly!marauders x reader but reader is contemplating their relationship?
(IDK IF YOU DO ANGST SORRY 😭)
No worries!! It's definitely not my most practiced genre but I'm happy to give it a try :) Honestly unsure if this came out as angsty enough, so please do not be shy and let me know if not! Thanks for requesting
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 886 words
James, Remus, and Sirius balance each other out perfectly. James is so sweet he should come with a warning label, always showering everyone in affection and bringing joy into every room he's in; Remus emanates a quieter sort of contentedness, and he provides a calm, rational perspective when the others need it; and Sirius takes everything they have together and dials it up to eleven, the depth of his feelings so intense that being around him is almost a sort of high.
The issue is, you're not sure where you fit into all that.
The boys seem to care about you, but you can't really figure out why. You have none of James' lightness, Remus' patience, Sirius' humor. You've been trying to hold onto this thing between you, to enjoy it while it lasts, but waiting for the other shoe to drop is becoming maddening. Eventually—someday soon, likely—they're going to realize that they're better off without you.
Naturally, you're pondering this while Sirius braids your hair, James chattering about why he thinks you all need a dog (Sirius has pointed out that you already have him) and Remus reading with his back leaned against your side.
You're trying to figure out the least needy way to ask why they care about you when Remus nudges you with a movement of his shoulder.
"You've been quiet tonight, dove."
It's far from accusatory, but the other boys pick up on the implication nonetheless. Suddenly, all the attention in the room is on you. It's a bit overwhelming.
"I was just thinking..." you say tentatively, unsure of your words. "Do you think we'll all stay together?"
James looks as though you've slapped him, and though Remus doesn't turn, you feel the muscles in his shoulders tense.
"Why would you say that?" James asks. "Of course I think so."
"But..." Merlin, there's no easy way to go about this conversation. "I just, I don't really see what I'm bringing to the table here." You cringe at your own words, awaiting judgement—or worse, epiphany—from your boyfriends.
Sirius, whose hands have been motionless in your hair since you spoke up, abandons his project entirely, letting your hair drop limply from his grasp. "Wha—what does that even mean, what you bring to the table?"
Remus turns around, placing a reassuring hand on Sirius' shoulder. "Easy, love," he murmurs. "Y/N, can you tell us what you're worried about?"
You look between them as Sirius comes to sit beside Remus, feeling stupid and immature. "Sorry, it's not...a you-guys thing. It's just that, I can see how well you work together, and why you love each other, but I don't really see why you'd love me." Your voice gets quieter as you finish, shameful of your thoughts and the position you know you're putting them in.
Sirius releases a disbelieving exhale, slumping into Remus' side, and the taller boy wraps an arm around him, looking at you like you're one of his crosswords and have just given him a particularly perplexing clue.
"Sweetheart," James says, pulling your attention towards him, "it's not a matter of why we would love you, just that we do. Do you need to list off reasons for why you care about every person in your life, or doesn't it just happen?"
"I don't need to," you admit, "but I could. I love you guys because of who you are."
"And so do we," Remus says. "Dove, we care about you. Isn't that enough? Can you trust us with that?"
"It's not..." It's not a matter of trusting them. You'd trust any of them with your life, with everything. It's that you don't trust yourself. It's that you're worried you won't live up to it, to this earnest affection they're offering you. You don't think you deserve it.
"How about this," Sirius says, in his typical cut-to-the-chase manner. "If we didn't love you—and have damn good reasons for loving you—we wouldn't be with you. So there." You must look unconvinced, because Sirius arches a brow. "You don't think that, with James' bod and Remus' hot accent, not to mention my boyish charm, we could have anyone we wanted?"
You crack a smile, but Sirius just looks at you, awaiting an answer. You shrink a bit under his gaze.
"You could," you say sheepishly.
"Right." Sirius grins suavely. "And we used those combined faculties to snag this hot piece of ass." Without warning, he reaches out and drags you into him, the two of you piling an unfair amount of weight onto Remus.
You squeal, and James shouts "Oi! Leave our poor Moony alone," tugging on Remus' arm until Remus sighs, disentangling himself from Sirius and going to sit beside James. James ruffles his hair, planting a triumphant kiss on the taller boy's cheek. If Remus blushes a bit, you pretend not to notice.
"Got that?" Sirius looks at you threateningly, but his voice is soft, his eyes imploring. "We want you, baby. Finders, keepers."
James nods as if this is a sage decree. "Think you might be able to get used to that?" he asks, and you know he's only partly joking.
You relax into Sirius' hold, giving Remus and James an apologetic look. "Yeah," you say. You can definitely get used to this.

I personally think its disgusting of what she posted yet again its all about her and she the reason why micheal keeps trending 4th day oh please he was trending for days before she came in the picture. And for someone who has no career and basically living off her parter who works so hard and been ill with virus the last few days and haven't been able to perform and she post this. Taking the credit for something that has nothing to do with her. He very grateful that she keep him grounded what that suppose to mean ? He was doing better before she came in the picture since he been with her his career have been slowed a little and she probably the reason for it
What do u say ?
Oh, boy. I saw this a little while ago, and all I could think was that the bar is so low at this point--like halfway between the fourth and fifth circles of Hell--and this still somehow falls short.
I know there has been a lot of talk about the t-shirt Anna is wearing (which was a gift from a fan at the stage door of Nye), but for me, the t-shirt is the least concerning part of all this. It's a reference to a quote from Staged (it's the title of a season 1 episode, in fact), and I am sure Michael found it funny. The only problem is that without the context of why it's a joke, it actually just isn't that funny. And it sets the stage for everything else that is happening.
Which brings me to the caption she wrote, which was what primarily caught my attention. The reason Michael is currently trending on Twitter (X, whatever we're calling it) is because of the overwhelmingly positive response to The Assembly, which aired last Friday night. He is receiving a tremendous amount of praise for being on the show, how he spoke to the interviewers, and the respectful and joyous atmosphere that was cultivated on the show. And rather than allude to any of that--not to mention Michael being sick recently, or the trip they went on to Disneyland Paris--Anna made Michael trending on Twitter about her.
That is what stands out to me the most. The idea of "keeping him grounded" that is coming across more like kicking someone when he is already down. That he somehow needs that, and that she would have us believe he is "grateful" to her for, what...comparing him to a loud bird? Repeatedly making fun of his looks and interests without a shred of respect or affection behind it? I'm also confused by the implication (and the irony) that Michael somehow has a large ego that needs to be kept in check when she is the one coming across as self-involved in this Insta story. So, yes. I'm at a bit of loss here.
I just keep thinking of the things she could have said instead. How she could have uplifted Michael, wished him well on returning to the stage tonight after several days' absence, said how she was glad to have spent time with him or taken care of him while he was ill. Just something that would give him a reason to hold his head high. But I guess it might just be easier to convince herself/everyone else that he is smiling if his head is hanging down instead.
I am just glad Michael is out performing again tonight and getting to be on stage and do the thing he truly loves to do. But those are my thoughts, and I'd be glad to hear from my followers about what you think, regardless of whether you agree or disagree...
#angel19924#reply post#michael sheen#welsh seduction machine#the 'keeping him grounded' thing is giving me Georgia Lite vibes#though at least with Georgia it's original#i don't even know anymore#i don't think AL has had any effect on Michael's career either and I'm not blaming her for that#yet it seems clear he hasn't affected her career in the way she hoped either#trying to provide a balanced perspective#but what's the old saying: when someone shows you who they are believe them the first time#anna lundberg#relationships#thoughts#discourse

Chapter 16: Breaking Point
Three days after your date with Jiwoo, the tension in the studio had become almost unbearable. Your initial resolve to maintain professional composure was crumbling under the weight of constant proximity to Han, whose own behavior had shifted in ways you couldn't quite interpret. Where before he had been carefully neutral, now he seemed to alternate between avoiding eye contact entirely and watching you with an intensity that made your skin prickle with awareness.
The date with Jiwoo—which you hadn't repeated despite his polite follow-up message—had somehow changed the dynamic, though you couldn't understand why. If Han truly believed his feelings for you had been circumstantial, why would your dinner with someone else affect him at all?
Yet something had shifted, creating a volatile undercurrent that threatened the professional environment you'd both worked so hard to maintain after the breakup. Other members had begun to notice as well, exchanging concerned glances when production discussions between you and Han became clipped and tense, when creative disagreements that would have previously been resolved through collaborative compromise turned into stubborn standoffs.
Today's session had begun normally enough—reviewing the final mix of the title track, making minor adjustments to levels and effects. But tension had been building incrementally, each small interaction between you and Han carrying the weight of unspoken words and suppressed emotions.
"The vocal reverb on the bridge needs reduction," you noted, making an adjustment to the mix without waiting for agreement. "It's muddying the instrumental texture."
Han frowned, reaching to revert your change. "The reverb provides depth. Without it, the transition feels two-dimensional."
"The depth should come from the arrangement, not artificial effects," you countered, your tone more brusque than usual. "The composition is strong enough to stand without excessive processing."
Chan glanced between you, clearly sensing the growing tension. "Maybe we could try a compromise? Reduce the reverb slightly but maintain some of that atmospheric quality?"
"The current level is already a compromise," Han insisted, an edge entering his voice that would have been unthinkable in your earlier collaborations. "Further reduction undermines the emotional impact of the section."
"That's your subjective interpretation," you responded, professional patience wearing dangerously thin. "Objectively, the mix is cleaner and more effective with reduced reverb."
"Music isn't objective," Han shot back, frustration evident in his posture. "It's emotional expression, not mathematical calculation."
"And professional production is about balancing expression with technical quality," you countered, the argument moving beyond the specific issue into broader philosophical territory. "Sometimes that means making choices that serve the overall composition rather than individual preferences."
Changbin exchanged a concerned look with Chan, both clearly uncomfortable with the escalating tension. "Maybe we should take a break," he suggested cautiously. "Get some fresh perspective."
"The perspective is clear," Han stated firmly, his gaze challenging as it met yours across the console. "The reverb stays as is."
Something in his tone—the flat finality, the dismissal of your professional judgment—broke through your carefully maintained composure. "You don't get to make unilateral decisions about this mix," you said, your voice dangerously quiet. "That's not how collaboration works."
"Isn't it?" Han replied, something bitter entering his expression. "I thought making decisions for other people was standard practice around here."
The comment landed like a slap, its meaning clear only to you—a reference to his decision to end your relationship without discussion, to declare his feelings insufficient without giving you a voice in the matter. The sudden intrusion of personal history into professional disagreement crossed a line that had been carefully maintained for weeks.
"That's completely inappropriate," you said, standing abruptly from your station. "And entirely irrelevant to this discussion."
"Is it?" Han challenged, rising as well, the professional pretense crumbling further with each exchange. "Or is it the root of the whole problem?"
Chan stepped forward, alarm evident in his expression. "Okay, let's definitely take that break now. Fifteen minutes, everyone cool down, then we'll revisit this with clear heads."
But the breaking point had been reached, weeks of suppressed hurt and confusion finally boiling over into words that couldn't be taken back.
"You don't get to act like the injured party here," you said, gathering your belongings with trembling hands. "You made your feelings—or lack thereof—perfectly clear. You don't then get to have opinions about how I process that or who I spend time with."
Han's expression flickered with something like pain before hardening again. "I never claimed to have opinions about that. Your personal life is your business."
"Then why the sudden hostility since the date?" you demanded, abandoning professional reservation entirely. "If you truly meant what you said about your feelings not being deep enough, why does it matter to you what I do outside this studio?"
The question hung in the air between you, loaded with implications neither of you were prepared to address directly. Chan and Changbin remained frozen in place, clearly uncertain whether intervention would improve the situation or escalate it further.
"It doesn't matter to me," Han insisted, though his tense posture and averted gaze suggested otherwise. "I'm focused on the music, which is why I'm advocating for the production choices that best serve the composition."
"Right," you replied, disbelief evident in your tone. "This is exclusively about reverb levels, not about you attempting to assert control in one area since you've lost it in another."
The psychological assessment was cutting in its accuracy, causing Han to flinch visibly before his expression hardened into something distant and cold. "Believe whatever you want. I'm trying to create the best possible album, which is what we're all here for, supposedly."
"Yes, it is," you agreed, a sudden clarity washing over you as the full weight of the situation settled in your chest. "And I'm beginning to think my physical presence here is becoming detrimental to that goal."
Chan stepped forward, concern deepening in his expression. "Y/n, that's not—"
"It's true," you interrupted quietly. "The current dynamic isn't sustainable or productive. We need to find a different approach."
Without further elaboration, you turned and left the studio, ignoring Chan's call of your name as the door closed behind you. The walk to your dorm passed in a blur of hurt and clarity, each step cementing the decision that had been forming in your mind since the argument began.
Inside your dorm, you moved directly to your laptop, opening your email with shaking hands but absolute certainty about what needed to be done. The message you composed was professional and straightforward, addressed to JYP's production director with copies to your management team in LA:
Subject: Request for Remote Completion of Contract
Dear Director Park,
I am writing to formally request modification of my remaining contract obligations with JYP Entertainment. After careful consideration, I believe the project would be best served by my completing the remaining production work remotely from Los Angeles rather than continuing in Seoul.
The album is now in final mixing stages, with all major production elements established and approved in yesterday's executive review. The remaining work—final mixing adjustments, mastering supervision, and production notes—can be effectively accomplished through digital collaboration, as is standard practice in many international productions.
My team in LA has confirmed the availability of appropriate studio facilities to ensure seamless continuation of the project, and I am prepared to maintain the established timeline for completion.
I believe this arrangement will provide the most efficient path to completing the album at the quality level JYP expects and deserves. I remain fully committed to delivering an exceptional product and am available for immediate discussion of logistical details.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
Sincerely, Celeste. Executive Producer
You read through the message twice, verifying that the tone remained entirely professional with no hint of the personal complications driving your decision. Satisfied that it represented a reasonable business request rather than an emotional reaction, you clicked send before you could reconsider.
The solution wasn't perfect—remote collaboration would present its own challenges—but it would provide the distance needed to complete the project without the daily emotional strain that had become increasingly unbearable. Seven weeks of careful professional distance had proven unsustainable; perhaps physical separation would allow both you and Han to refocus on the work rather than the complicated feelings neither of you seemed able to fully suppress.
As the email departed into digital space, a profound exhaustion settled over you, the adrenaline of confrontation giving way to a bone-deep weariness. You'd come to Seoul for a professional opportunity, a chance to expand your production repertoire and work with talented artists in a different cultural context. Somehow, that straightforward assignment had evolved into the most emotionally complicated experience of your career.
The worst part was how much you'd come to care—not just about Han, though that remained a raw wound, but about all of them. Felix with his sunshine warmth and perceptive friendship. I.N. with his endearing combination of youthful enthusiasm and surprising maturity. Hyunjin with his dramatic flair hiding genuine depth. Chan's steady leadership, Changbin's quiet insight, Lee Know's observant calm, Seungmin's thoughtful intelligence.
They had become more than colleagues, more than the subjects of a temporary assignment. They had become something like family, a realization that made your decision to leave prematurely all the more painful. But continuing in the current environment would only damage both the project and the relationships you'd developed.
Sometimes the kindest choice was also the most difficult. Distance, in this case, might be the greatest gift you could offer—to the album, to the group, to Han, and to yourself.
Your phone chimed with a message from Felix: "You okay? Chan told me you left suddenly after an argument."
The concern was touching but also a reminder of how intertwined your personal and professional lives had become here—precisely the complication that had led to the current situation.
"I'm fine," you replied, the standard response when one is anything but. "Just needed space to think."
The truth would come soon enough, once your request was processed and approved. For now, you needed time to begin the mental and emotional preparation for departure, for returning to LA weeks earlier than planned, for saying goodbye to people who had come to mean far more than you'd ever anticipated.
Seven weeks suddenly reduced to days, perhaps even hours, depending on how quickly management processed your request. Time that would now be measured in goodbyes rather than ongoing collaboration, in packing rather than production, in ending rather than creating.
It wasn't what you'd wanted or expected when you'd accepted this assignment. But sometimes the only way forward was to step away, however painful the separation might be.
---
The atmosphere in the studio remained tense in your absence, Han's expression closed and defensive as Chan and Changbin exchanged concerned glances, uncertain how to proceed after the unprecedented confrontation.
"Maybe I should go check on her," Chan suggested finally, breaking the heavy silence that had fallen after your departure.
"Give her space," Han countered, turning back to the console with forced focus. "We can continue working on the other tracks while she processes."
Changbin's expression reflected clear disapproval, though he directed his comment to Chan rather than Han. "Should we reschedule today's session? The energy isn't exactly conducive to creative work right now."
Before Chan could respond, the studio door opened to reveal Manager Kim, his expression uncharacteristically grave as he surveyed the room, noting your absence with a slight frown.
"Chan," he said, gesturing toward the hallway. "A word, please."
Han watched with growing unease as Chan followed the manager outside, the door closing behind them with a soft but somehow ominous click. Something about Manager Kim's expression, the unusual interruption of a production session, sent a chill of premonition through Han's system.
"What do you think that's about?" he asked Changbin, trying to keep his tone casual despite the anxiety building in his chest.
Changbin shrugged, though his expression suggested concern rather than indifference. "Probably related to what just happened here. Word travels fast in this building."
The observation only increased Han's discomfort. If Manager Kim had heard about their argument, about the personal tension that had infected the professional environment, would he make the connection to his earlier warning about inappropriate relationships? Would you face professional consequences because Han had failed to maintain the careful boundaries that were supposed to protect your career?
The minutes stretched endlessly as Han waited for Chan's return, each scenario his imagination conjured worse than the last. When the door finally reopened, Chan's expression confirmed his worst fears—something significant had happened, something that wouldn't be easily resolved.
"What is it?" Changbin asked, voicing the question Han couldn't bring himself to form.
Chan closed the door carefully before turning to face them, his expression a mixture of concern and resignation. "Y/n has requested to complete her contract remotely from LA. Effective immediately."
The news landed like a physical blow, leaving Han momentarily breathless as the implications registered. You were leaving. Not in seven weeks as scheduled, but now. Immediately. Without proper goodbyes or resolution or any of the closure he'd imagined might eventually come.
"She can't do that," he protested automatically, though he knew intellectually that you absolutely could—remote collaboration was standard in the industry, especially for international projects.
"Apparently she can," Chan replied, his tone carefully neutral though his eyes reflected concern as they assessed Han's reaction. "Management has approved the request. She'll be flying back to LA tomorrow morning."
"Tomorrow?" Changbin repeated, genuine shock evident in his voice. "That's... abrupt."
Chan nodded, moving to his workstation with a sigh. "The email chain I was just shown suggests she made a compelling case for why remote completion makes sense at this stage of production. Technically, she's right—we're in final mixing, most of the creative heavy lifting is done. But the timing..."
He let the observation hang, the implication clear to everyone in the room. The timing, immediately following a heated argument with Han that crossed professional boundaries, was no coincidence.
"This is because of what happened today," Han said quietly, the reality settling in his chest like a stone. "Because I couldn't maintain professional separation."
Neither Chan nor Changbin contradicted this assessment, their silence confirmation enough. The weight of responsibility pressed Han further into his seat—you were leaving Seoul weeks ahead of schedule, abandoning the close-knit creative environment that had produced such exceptional work, because he had failed to honor the very boundaries he'd established to protect your career.
"We need to tell the others," Chan said finally, reaching for his phone. "I'll call a meeting at the dorm in an hour. Everyone should hear this together."
Han nodded numbly, unable to formulate a response that wouldn't reveal the full extent of his guilt and regret. You were leaving because of him—because of his inability to reconcile his feelings with his actions, because of the tension his deception had created, because continuing in his presence had become unsustainable.
The protection he'd claimed to provide through ending your relationship had ultimately failed, driving you away physically as well as emotionally. The irony was bitter, the failure complete. In trying to shield you from professional damage, he had created a situation so untenable that leaving early had become your only viable option.
Seven weeks reduced to less than twenty-four hours. Whatever slim hope he might have harbored for eventual resolution, for some kind of closure or understanding before your scheduled departure, had been extinguished by his own actions. The realization was devastating in its finality, in the absolute certainty that he had lost something precious through his own misguided choices.
---
The dorm living room was unusually silent as the eight members gathered, the somber atmosphere suggesting Chan had provided some context for the emergency meeting when summoning everyone. Han sat slightly apart from the others, hyperaware of the occasional glances cast in his direction—some concerned, others accusatory, none particularly comforting.
"I've called everyone here because there's been a significant development regarding the album production," Chan began, his leader persona firmly in place despite the personal nature of the situation. "Y/n has requested and received approval to complete her contract remotely from Los Angeles. She'll be flying out tomorrow morning."
Despite the hints Chan had clearly provided beforehand, the official announcement was met with immediate reactions of shock and distress.
"Tomorrow?" Felix repeated, dismay evident in his expression. "But she wasn't supposed to leave for seven more weeks."
"What happened?" Seungmin asked, his perceptive gaze moving between Chan and Han. "This seems sudden."
Chan hesitated, clearly considering how much detail was appropriate to share. "There was a disagreement during today's session that... escalated beyond professional bounds. Y/n feels the project would be better served by her completing the work remotely."
"A disagreement," Hyunjin repeated flatly, his eyes narrowing as they fixed on Han. "Would this 'disagreement' have anything to do with certain personal complications that have been affecting the studio atmosphere for weeks?"
Han met his gaze briefly before looking away, unable to deny the accusation but unwilling to elaborate on the specific exchange that had pushed you to your breaking point.
"This is ridiculous," Felix said, frustration evident in his usually cheerful voice. "She can't just leave without proper goodbyes. Without closure. Without..." he trailed off, the unspoken 'fixing things with Han' hanging in the air.
"Apparently she can," Lee Know observed quietly. "And given the situation, it's hard to blame her for wanting distance."
The pointed comment wasn't directed explicitly at Han, but its target was unmistakable nonetheless. Han remained silent, accepting the implicit criticism as his due. This outcome was the result of his choices, his actions, his failure to navigate the complicated circumstances he'd helped create.
"So that's it?" I.N. asked, his voice small and hurt in a way that made Han's chest tighten with fresh guilt. "Noona is just... leaving? Without saying goodbye?"
The Korean term of affection—the one you'd once mentioned touched you deeply when I.N. first used it—highlighted the personal bonds that had formed beyond professional collaboration. Bonds that would now be severed prematurely, leaving no opportunity for proper farewells or closure.
"I'm sure she'll say her goodbyes," Chan assured him, though his tone lacked conviction. "She wouldn't leave without at least messaging everyone."
"A text isn't the same as a proper goodbye," Hyunjin argued, his usual dramatic flair underscored by genuine emotion. "We should at least have a dinner or something before she goes. A chance to properly thank her for everything she's done."
"I'll reach out and suggest it," Chan agreed, though his expression suggested limited hope for success. "But given the circumstances..."
His gaze flickered briefly to Han, the implication clear—your desire for separation likely extended beyond professional considerations to include distance from Han specifically, making a group gathering potentially uncomfortable or unwelcome.
"This is completely messed up," Felix stated, voice rising with uncharacteristic anger. "She belongs here, with us, finishing what we started together. The album won't be the same without her physical presence."
"The production quality won't suffer," Chan assured him, ever the professional leader. "Y/n is still fully committed to the project, just from a different location."
"It's not about the production quality," Felix countered, frustration evident in his expression. "It's about the creative energy, the collaborative spirit, the family we've become. You can't replicate that through digital communication."
The word 'family' sent another wave of guilt through Han's system. You had indeed become something like family to many of the members—Felix's best friend, I.N.'s surrogate sister, a valued confidant and creative partner to others. Those connections would now be severed prematurely because of his inability to manage the personal complications he had helped create.
"This wouldn't be happening if certain people hadn't made things unnecessarily complicated," Hyunjin observed, not bothering to disguise the accusation in his tone as he looked directly at Han. "If feelings had been communicated honestly instead of whatever game has been playing out for weeks."
"Hyunjin," Chan warned, clearly trying to prevent further escalation. "Placing blame doesn't help the situation now."
"Doesn't it?" Hyunjin challenged, rising from his seat with building emotion. "Because I think acknowledging exactly why Y/n feels she needs to flee the country might be pretty relevant to fixing the problem."
Han remained silent, accepting Hyunjin's anger as justified given his limited understanding of the situation. Without knowing about Manager Kim's warning, about the potential career consequences you had faced, Hyunjin's interpretation was understandable—Han had created complications through his own emotional cowardice rather than legitimate concern for your professional future.
"It can't be fixed," Han said finally, the words emerging with quiet resignation. "Some situations don't have simple solutions, no matter how much we might want them to."
His response only seemed to fuel Hyunjin's frustration. "That's convenient, isn't it? Declaring something unfixable rather than actually trying to resolve it."
"You don't understand the full situation," Lee Know interjected, surprising Han with the partial defense. "There are complications beyond what's immediately apparent."
The comment suggested Lee Know had shared at least some of what Han had revealed about Manager Kim's warning, though clearly not with everyone given Hyunjin and Felix's continuing anger. The realization was both concerning and somewhat relieving—Han wasn't carrying the full weight of knowledge alone anymore, yet the circle of awareness was expanding in potentially dangerous ways.
"Then enlighten us," Felix challenged, his usually warm demeanor hardened by concern for you. "Because from where I'm sitting, we're losing someone important because of unresolved personal issues that should never have interfered with the professional environment in the first place."
The accusation stung precisely because it contained truth—the boundaries between personal and professional had indeed blurred beyond recovery, creating the very situation Han had feared from the beginning. Your career was potentially still at risk, but now from a different angle—the premature termination of your Seoul assignment, the unusual contract modification, the implied interpersonal complications that might raise questions with future employers or collaborators.
Before Han could formulate a response to Felix's challenge, a sound broke through the tense atmosphere—a sob, quickly stifled but unmistakable in the otherwise silent room. All heads turned toward I.N., the youngest member's eyes filling with tears he was clearly struggling to contain.
"It's not fair," he said, voice trembling with emotion. "Noona belongs here. With us. With her family."
The raw hurt in his expression, the genuine distress at your impending departure, broke something in Han's carefully maintained composure. I.N. had formed a special bond with you—the sibling-like relationship that had brought him comfort and guidance throughout your time in Seoul. That connection would now be severed prematurely because of Han's actions, his choices, his inability to navigate the complicated feelings between you without creating a situation that drove you away.
"I.N.—" Han began, though he had no idea what comfort he could possibly offer.
"This is your fault!" I.N. exclaimed suddenly, tears flowing freely now as he rose to his feet, hurt transforming into uncharacteristic anger directed squarely at Han. "You did something to make her want to leave, and now she's going away, and everything is ruined!"
The direct accusation from the usually gentle maknae stunned everyone into silence, the unprecedented outburst highlighting just how deeply your impending departure was affecting the group dynamics. I.N.'s relationship with you had been special—the noona/dongsaeng dynamic giving him a different kind of support than he received from the other members.
"You have to fix it," I.N. continued, voice breaking with emotion but conviction unwavering. "Whatever you did or said, you have to make it right. Noona belongs here, with her adoptive family. She was happy here until... until whatever happened between you two."
The plea was so earnest, so heartfelt that Han found himself unable to maintain eye contact, the weight of I.N.'s disappointment too heavy to bear directly. "It's not that simple," he said quietly, the familiar explanation feeling increasingly hollow with each repetition.
"Why not?" I.N. demanded, surprising everyone with his persistence. "If you care about her—and don't pretend you don't, we all see how you look at her—why can't you just be honest? Why can't you fix whatever broke?"
The simple question cut through Han's complex justifications with brutal efficiency. Why couldn't he just be honest? Why couldn't he trust you with the truth about Manager Kim's warning, about his real feelings, about the fear that had driven his decisions? Was protecting your career worth the pain his deception had caused—not just to you and himself, but to others who had formed meaningful connections with you during your time in Seoul?
"I.N., it's more complicated than—" Chan began, trying to defuse the situation with his usual diplomatic approach.
"It's NOT!" I.N. interrupted, tears streaming down his face now as emotion overwhelmed his usual respectful demeanor. "It's only complicated because people make things complicated! If you care about someone, you fight for them! You don't let them leave without even trying to make things right!"
The raw emotion in I.N.'s outburst silenced even Chan, the leader clearly recognizing that this was something the youngest member needed to express rather than be soothed away. I.N. rarely showed such intense feelings, his usually cheerful or thoughtfully quiet demeanor giving way only in exceptional circumstances.
This, apparently, qualified as exceptional.
"Please, hyung," I.N. pleaded, looking directly at Han with tear-filled eyes. "Please fix this. Please don't let noona leave like this."
The naked vulnerability in the request struck Han somewhere fundamental, breaking through layers of justification and self-protection to the core truth he'd been avoiding: his choices had hurt not just you and himself, but others who cared about you both. The ripple effects of his well-intentioned deception had expanded beyond anything he'd anticipated, creating pain he'd never intended.
"I'll try," Han heard himself say, the words emerging before conscious thought could censor them. "I can't promise it will work, but... I'll try."
The commitment, however tentative, seemed to provide I.N. with some measure of comfort. He nodded once, wiping tearfully at his face before retreating to Felix's supportive embrace, the older member murmuring gentle reassurances as he held the still-trembling maknae.
Han looked around the room, taking in the various expressions directed his way—Hyunjin's skepticism, Chan's concerned encouragement, Lee Know's knowing assessment, Changbin's cautious hope. Whatever happened next, whatever attempt he made to resolve the situation with you, would unfold with these witnesses, these people who cared about both of you in different ways.
The protection he'd sought through deception had failed. The careful distance he'd maintained had crumbled. The professional environment he'd prioritized had fractured despite his best efforts. All that remained was truth—however complicated, however potentially consequential, however terrifying in its implications.
You were leaving tomorrow. His time for careful calculations and protective distance had run out. Whatever happened next would require courage he wasn't sure he possessed, honesty he'd been avoiding for weeks.
But I.N.'s tearful plea echoed in his mind, a simple truth cutting through complex adult justifications: if you care about someone, you fight for them. You don't let them leave without trying to make things right.
The question that remained, the one Han would need to answer before facing you with the truth he'd been hiding, was deceptively simple yet profoundly challenging: what was he fighting for? Your career protection? His own emotional safety? The possibility of a relationship that still faced the fundamental challenge of geographic separation in just seven weeks?
As the group meeting dissolved into smaller conversations, plans for potential goodbyes, and processing of what your early departure meant for various members, Han retreated into silent contemplation of this essential question. The answer would determine his next actions, his approach to the precipice he now faced with time rapidly running out.
You were leaving tomorrow. Whatever truth needed sharing, whatever resolution might be possible, would need to happen before you boarded that plane. The countdown had begun, the moment of reckoning approaching with merciless speed.
Han could only hope that whatever courage he managed to summon would be enough, whatever truth he offered would be received, whatever damage existed could be repaired before time ran out completely.
---
As the meeting disbanded, members drifting off in various states of distress and concern, Chan caught Han's eye with a silent gesture toward the balcony. The leader's expression was unreadable, but the intent was clear—a private conversation was needed, away from the emotional chaos of the group.
Han followed with reluctance, knowing what awaited was likely another well-deserved critique of his handling of the situation. The cool evening air offered little relief from the suffocating weight of guilt and regret pressing against his chest as he stepped onto the small balcony, closing the door behind him.
Chan leaned against the railing, silent for a long moment as he gazed out at the city lights. When he finally spoke, his voice was carefully measured, the control of a leader who needed answers rather than emotional catharsis.
"I need the full story, Han. Not bits and pieces, not the sanitized version. Everything."
Han hesitated, instinct still pushing toward protection through selective disclosure. But I.N.'s tearful plea had cracked something fundamental in his resolve, and Chan's steady leadership had earned complete honesty, regardless of how uncomfortable the truth might be.
"Manager Kim called me into his office two weeks ago," Han began, voice low despite the privacy of their location. "Said there were rumors about me and Y/n having an inappropriate relationship. Warned me about the consequences if it was true."
Chan's posture stiffened slightly, but he remained silent, allowing Han to continue uninterrupted.
"For me, it would be disciplinary action, maybe impact on comeback promotions, but nothing career-ending," Han explained, the familiar words bitter on his tongue. "For Y/n? Immediate termination. A formal note in her professional file about contract breach. Blacklisting from JYP and probably other Korean entertainment companies."
"So you ended things to protect her career," Chan surmised, the pieces visibly connecting in his analytical mind. "But you didn't tell her why."
Han nodded, relieved at being understood without needing to justify his actions further. "I was afraid if she knew the truth, she might decide some things were worth the risk. That she might want to continue despite the professional consequences. I couldn't let her make that choice when the damage would fall almost entirely on her."
"So instead," Chan said, his tone sharpening slightly, "you told her what? That your feelings weren't genuine? That it was all circumstantial?"
The accuracy of Chan's guess suggested he'd pieced together more than Han had realized from observation alone. "Something like that," Han confirmed, shame coloring the admission. "I thought a clean break based on fading interest would be easier for her to accept than ongoing risk to her career."
Chan was quiet for a long moment, his breathing measured in the way that those closest to him recognized as controlled anger rather than calm acceptance. When he finally turned to face Han fully, his expression confirmed it—the usually warm, supportive leader was genuinely angry, something Han had rarely witnessed directed at any member, let alone himself.
"Let me make sure I understand this correctly," Chan said, voice dangerously quiet. "Our manager threatened one of my members with career consequences without ever speaking to me. Then that same member made a unilateral decision affecting another team member's emotional wellbeing and our group's dynamic without consulting me. And now we're losing our producer weeks ahead of schedule because both situations were mishandled from the beginning."
Put that way, the failure of communication seemed egregious, the bypassing of Chan's leadership an obvious misstep. Han hadn't considered how the situation might appear from Chan's perspective—not just the personal complications between himself and you, but the direct intervention from management without involving the group's leader.
"I didn't think—" Han began, but Chan cut him off with uncharacteristic sharpness.
"That's exactly the problem. You didn't think. Not about the group dynamics, not about proper channels of communication, and certainly not about what Y/n deserved to know for herself."
The criticism stung all the more for coming from Chan, whose leadership style typically emphasized support and guidance rather than direct confrontation. But the anger wasn't just about Han's decisions, he realized belatedly. It was about Manager Kim approaching Han directly with threats about career consequences without involving Chan as the group's leader and protective buffer between members and management.
"Why didn't you come to me?" Chan asked, the hurt beneath the anger becoming evident in his voice. "When Manager Kim made those threats, why didn't you immediately tell me? That's literally my job, Han—to handle these situations, to protect the members, to interface with management when issues arise."
The question revealed an aspect of the situation Han hadn't fully considered in his panic to protect you—that bypassing Chan might have been perceived as lack of trust in his leadership, an unintended insult to the person who had guided them through countless challenges over the years.
"I was trying to protect Y/n," Han explained weakly, the justification sounding increasingly insufficient with each iteration. "I thought handling it quietly would minimize the risk to her career."
"And instead," Chan replied, "you've created a situation where she's fleeing the country to escape the emotional fallout, the group is in disarray, and our album completion is now complicated by remote collaboration. All because you didn't trust me enough to help navigate this properly from the beginning."
The assessment was brutally accurate, highlighting the cascading failures that had resulted from Han's well-intentioned but ultimately misguided attempt to handle everything himself. He had no defense to offer, no justification that could mitigate the consequences of his choices.
"I'm sorry," he said simply, the words woefully inadequate but genuinely meant. "I should have come to you. I didn't think through all the implications."
Chan's expression softened slightly at the sincere apology, his natural tendency toward forgiveness tempering the justified anger. "No, you didn't. But my real issue isn't even with you right now."
He straightened, a resolute determination replacing the earlier hurt and anger. "Manager Kim had absolutely no right to approach you directly with threats about this situation. That conversation should have come to me first, as the group's leader. The fact that he deliberately circumvented my position to intimidate you individually is completely unacceptable."
The shift in focus surprised Han, who had expected Chan's anger to remain directed primarily at his own failings rather than management's approach. "I didn't think about it that way," he admitted. "I was too focused on the immediate threat to Y/n's career."
"Which is exactly why these structures exist," Chan explained, some of his usual patient leadership returning to his tone. "You were emotionally involved and isolated with this information, making decisions from a place of fear rather than with proper support and perspective. That's on Manager Kim, not just you."
The absolution wasn't complete—Han's choices had still created unnecessary complications—but the sharing of responsibility eased some of the crushing weight he'd been carrying alone.
"What do we do now?" Han asked, genuine uncertainty in his voice. "Y/n leaves tomorrow. There's no time to untangle all of this."
Chan's expression turned thoughtful, the strategic mind that had guided their group through various challenges already formulating approaches. "Here's what's going to happen. You are going to find Y/n tonight and tell her everything—Manager Kim's warning, your real feelings, the actual reason you ended things. Complete honesty, no more protection through deception."
The directive was clear, allowing no room for argument or evasion. "And then?"
"Then you let her make her own informed choice about what risks she's willing to take and what she wants moving forward," Chan continued firmly. "Whether that's maintaining distance, considering options despite the complications, or something else entirely—it has to be her decision this time, not yours."
The approach made sense, even as it terrified Han to relinquish the control he'd maintained through his protective deception. "And what about Manager Kim? The contract clause? The potential consequences?"
Chan's expression hardened with renewed determination. "You let me handle that. As the leader, it's my responsibility to address management overreach and protect my members—all of them, including our temporary producer who has become part of our family."
The confidence in Chan's voice, the certainty of his leadership in this moment, provided a reassurance Han hadn't realized he desperately needed. He wasn't alone in this situation anymore—the burden of protection and decision-making could be shared with someone whose judgment and authority he trusted implicitly.
"What are you going to do?" Han asked, both curious and concerned about potential repercussions for Chan himself.
"Have a very direct conversation with appropriate parties about chain of command and the proper handling of sensitive situations," Chan replied, his tone suggesting this would be no casual discussion. "What happened—approaching you directly with threats, bypassing my position as leader, creating a situation where both you and Y/n have been suffering unnecessarily—violates protocols that exist for good reasons."
Han hadn't seen this side of Chan often—the fiercely protective leader who, despite his usual diplomatic approach, could become immovable when his members' wellbeing was threatened. It was simultaneously reassuring and slightly intimidating to witness.
"You're willing to confront management over this?" Han asked, concerned about potential blowback for Chan's career as well. "Even with the comeback so close?"
Chan's expression made the answer clear before he verbalized it. "I have always prioritized the wellbeing of this team over corporate politics, and I always will. A leader who doesn't stand up when it matters isn't a leader worth following."
The simple declaration, delivered with absolute conviction, reminded Han why Chan had earned their unwavering trust and respect over the years. His leadership wasn't based on position alone, but on consistent actions that put the group's needs above individual interests—including, sometimes, his own.
"What if Y/n doesn't want to hear the truth now?" Han asked, voicing his deepest fear. "What if it's too late? What if she's already decided to move on?"
"Then at least she'll be making that decision with complete information," Chan replied pragmatically. "And you'll both have the closure of honesty rather than misunderstanding."
The wisdom in this approach was undeniable, however daunting the task of complete disclosure might be. Han nodded slowly, accepting the direction from his leader with the same trust he'd shown countless times throughout their years together.
"Tonight," he confirmed. "I'll talk to her tonight."
"Good," Chan said, some of the tension leaving his shoulders as he sensed Han's commitment. "And Han? No half-measures this time. Complete honesty, regardless of how vulnerable it makes you feel. She deserves that much after everything that's happened."
The instruction was clear—no more protective distance, no more shielding through selective disclosure, no more decisions made on her behalf without her input. Terrifying in its implications but necessary if any resolution was possible before you boarded that plane.
"I understand," Han said quietly, the weight of the task ahead settling on his shoulders. It would require courage he wasn't sure he possessed, honesty he'd been avoiding for weeks. But Chan's confidence, combined with I.N.'s tearful plea, had created an imperative that couldn't be ignored any longer.
Chan placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, leader and friend in equal measure now rather than disappointed superior. "Remember who you're doing this for—not just for Y/n, not just for the group, but for yourself too. Living with unspoken truth is its own kind of prison, Han. Whatever happens after you speak it, at least you'll be free of that."
The insight struck deeper than Chan likely realized, articulating something Han had felt but couldn't name—the suffocating weight of deception, even when motivated by protection rather than malice. The constant vigilance required to maintain the fiction had become its own form of exhaustion, a burden that had grown heavier with each passing day.
As they returned inside, the conversation concluded but its implications reverberating through Han's consciousness, one truth emerged with undeniable clarity: the time for protection through distance had ended. Only complete honesty remained as a viable path forward, whatever consequences might follow.
You were leaving tomorrow. The countdown had begun. Whatever courage Han could summon, whatever truth needed sharing, whatever resolution might be possible—it had to happen now, before time ran out completely.
With renewed determination tempered by realistic awareness of the challenges ahead, Han began mentally preparing for the conversation that would determine not just his own future, but yours as well. A conversation that should have happened weeks ago, before deception and distance created wounds that might prove impossible to heal.
But Chan believed in the power of truth, even belatedly offered. And Han, despite his fears, had to believe that possibility existed as well—that honesty, however late in coming, might still provide a foundation for whatever came next, even if that was nothing more than understanding and closure before physical separation.
You deserved the truth. And finally, after weeks of protective distance, Han was prepared to offer it—completely, without reservation, regardless of what followed.

I'm writing a story where a major character is slowly spiraling into madness where small details kinda hint into the downfall right before the bigger details appear and then it the floodgates open. Is there anything I should avoid? Anything that I should keep in mind? Anything that I should research?
1st vs. 3rd POV For Mad Characters
This may sound irresponsible for someone who gives out writing tips, but the best method to figure out the best POV character is to test 2-3 out (just try writing the first chapter) to see if it works the way you expected it to.
Here are some factors to consider when you’re writing an MC who is mad:
The extent to which you want to capture their internal world
The extent to which you can afford to “warp” descriptions of the external world (while not getting your readers lost)
How much you want your readers to sympathize with the character
What you feel comfortable with. How much you actually know about the mental condition they’re going through will be REALLY important and easy to tell in 1st person POV. For 3rd person POVs, there’s more wiggle room.
First Person MC POV
The POV that takes the most research and careful balancing between actual description and the “insane” descriptions.
Since the reader cannot see beyond a mad character’s head, it can be difficult to tell what’s “actually happening” at times. Many writers have used this as a major plot twist, given that it comes with careful structuring so that enough evidences are left for the readers which all come together at the end.
Be ready to make use of side characters who are more capable of telling readers the truth
If the focus is more on the process of going mad, this is the best POV to fully explore how a character can live in their own bubble.
Third Person Omniscient
Even when writing in third person omniscient, you’ll typically follow a main character from whose perspective you follow the story.
It’s more convenient to jump into side characters to let the readers know what’s reality from the madness-induced beliefs of the MC.
If the MC’s madness is one that is hard to justify(criminal mindset), it’s easier to use 3rd Person to distance yourself a little
First Person Observer POV
Whether you can have an effective 3rd person observer at all will depend on the kind of madness your MC is falling into. For sociopathic insane characters, it doesn’t make sense to have someone who can follow them closely enough to provide description.
Think about why and how this narrative character will follow the MC around
I think 3rd person observers work best when you explore how mad characters are judged/helped by those around them throughout their journey.
This may come more naturally to us since we are technically observers who will watch this character go mad.
My final rec: start with 3rd person observer POV, then try out one other POV for the first chapter to decide.

Understand is is a very weird question to get out the blue so no offence taken if this gets left in the inbox, but I was wondering how (if at all) to integrate transgender knights into arthurian retellings/adaptations ect while trying to keep it vaguely true to the medievalisms of the whole thing? I know its easy and liberating to just go 'fuck it everything queer' and its a totally valid way to go about it, but (as a trans person) I like having a narrative examine queerphobia and other structual issues with the setting - gives the whole thing a bit of meat (in my personal tastes). That being said, it feels like its a nightmare to try and have a transmasc knight stay stealth in this place! Everyone feels like theyre getting stipped and tended to after breaking a rib in a joust or merlin shows up and is a dick about pronouns and outs you to get you married to a Roman king. Stuff like that - things that feel a little easier to dodge when its a civillian character, not an ruling class.
Is this a 'kill the cop in your brain' kinda deal? As a queer storyteller yourself do you have any tips or strategies or tools you use to crowbar this kinda stuff a little easier together? Or do you know any stories/retellings/academic texts ect that cover these kinda things (even if its in a 'for the love of god, don't do that' way). Love the work you do for this fandom a lot, regardless of your answer! Hope you have a good day.
Hello anon! This is a great question.
Now let me preface this by saying I’m not transgender and I’m not a medievalist. There are plenty of trans medievalists on tumblr, but I’m not one of ‘em. So my answer is coming from a queer but cis author and enthusiast perspective. I'm going to provide lots of links to read things as well so everyone can draw their own conclusions from the material.
I think a large part of this does come down to “kill the cop in your head.” But at the same time, I’ve been exactly where you are wondering, “How can I make this story feel authentic to its era without torturing the trans characters?” Because you’re right, there’s a lot of nudity and close proximity interaction between knights in the medieval stories and Merlin is totally the type to be a dick about pronouns. I've also searched and struggled to find a medieval-set story that manages to incorporate queerness in a period-appropriate way (so far as we can guess) while balancing the narrative as to not tip into something deeply unpleasant for the target audience to read. (See: the series by Lavinia Collins, which has great queer rep, yay! But tons of horrors previously unseen and still unnecessary, boo!) So where does that leave us?
Well first I’m going to give you an example of how not to handle transness in an Arthurian story....
The book Once & Future and its sequel Sword in the Stars by Amy Rose Capetta and Cory McCarthy went with the phenomenon you already described as, “fuck it, everything queer.” It doesn't take place in the past, but does use the medieval stories as more than reference, it's not as divergent as something like Port Eternity by C. J. Cherryh, the reincarnated characters do interact with the past directly at times, so I'm using it as an example.
Anyway most characters are either gay (umbrella term) or trans. Except the way trans characters are treated sucks majorly (in my opinion). I completely lost faith in book 1 after the introduction of Lamorak, a gender fluid knight who uses they/them pronouns. Merlin misgenders them and gets corrected by Kay, to which Merlin does this whole self flagellation routine about. Lamorak is also disabled, missing their left hand. (Why isn't it Bedwyr? Anyway not the point...) Lamorak gets no dialogue here whatsoever, all agency is completely stripped from them regarding their disability and their gender identity. Double whammy.
This is worsened when Percival gets introduced, as Merlin then makes a point of asking for pronoun clarification in the most obnoxious way possible. To which Percival takes no offense at the weird slight against his sibling and tells Merlin his pronouns.
But what about the sequel? Surely these two queer authors improved with time.....
Is this a joke? Is this the best way they could indicate the inclusive realm of Avalon? Why not just describe the women as they are, all shapes and sizes, and let the reader figure it out? The authorial intent would be so obvious by this point. Instead they say it… like that. Gag.
It only gets worse when Mordred is born. Then they're weird about a literal infant.
What in the bio essentialism? If the characters have been living in a future that’s broken out of the gender binary, the baby’s genitals should be irrelevant. Gwen’s literally saying Mordred is going to fulfill the evil prophecy because he was born with a penis. Even if this is intended to be a teaching moment, I hate how it’s handled. These quotes are in order of appearance in the books, so after the subtextual implications of all that came before, this last part really doesn’t sit right with me. Sorry I find these books completely abhorrent. They've won awards, they’re beloved by many. Maybe it's me. But no thanks.
Honestly, so long as you're not blatantly offensive with your handling of such things, I think you'll be fine. It's important to remember that even if one is part of a demographic they're depicting, it's always a good idea to hire sensitivity readers and take that feedback seriously. Not everyone will love your work, there will be advice you don't utilize, with time you'll be able to weed out the bad faith feedback, (the "all depiction is glorification" crowd) and ignore it. But it's so important to open oneself up to constructive criticism so you can learn and your work can develop into the best possible version of itself.
Now let's get to some ways you can go about researching a way to do this that fits in your story. It’s important to remember that throughout human history, many people lived stealth their whole lives and we don’t know about them for that reason, not because no transgender folks ever lived authentically and happily in medieval times. So it’s never impossible to incorporate a trans character into a story who experiences no direct violence, even if the world they live in isn’t presented as a queer utopia. The other thing is that public opinion regarding queerness, cross dressing, etc have varied a lot over the centuries and were vastly different depending on location. Not every “woman” found in armor would have been treated as poorly as Joan of Arc. So there’s lots of wiggle room for interpretation when you go about writing these narratives. The majority of my examples deal with the ruling class so they address the concerns you mentioned with added scrutiny a noble would face if they were to experiment with gender presentation compared to a commoner. I’ll be spoiling the plots of everything on the list to make clear why I’m suggesting them.
My initial advice would be to read medieval literature with queer themes followed by essays on the subject. The best examples I know of are:
Yde et Olive
Transmasc knight (good ending). 12th century French romance. Yde’s mother Clarisse died giving birth to her & later when Yde reaches maturity, her father makes advances, so she disguises herself as a man & flees. Yde becomes a successful knight & is married to the king’s only daughter, Olive. When it comes time to consummate the marriage, Yde must confess the truth of his identity to Olive, who vows to keep it secret. This is overheard by the king who then attempts to uncover Yde’s identity but is stopped by an angel who chastises the king for harassing such a good vassal. Then Yde is transformed into a man, the king dies, & Yde is able to have a child with Olive. They name him Croissant as if it couldn’t get any more French than it already was. Anyway the story alternates pronouns for Yde given the situation which is pretty neat & in the end he gets to live his best life! Yay!
Le Roman de Silence
Transmasc knight (bad ending). A 13th century French romance about a baby girl named Silence. Silence is raised as a boy because King Eban won’t allow women to inherit property. Like many medieval romances, the hero's adventure is often punctuated with personified emotions (Dame Fortune, Lady Love, etc) but Silence is tormented by Nature & Nurture as he comes into adulthood. He becomes a knight & eventually takes on an "impossible" quest, to capture Merlin, which supposedly can only be done by a woman. Content warning for the ending, it does not go well for Silence. Merlin reveals his backstory, & he’s forced to take a feminized version of his name, live as a woman, & marry the king to keep his lands.
Wigalois by Wirnt von Grafenberg
A 13th century German romance that follows Gawain’s son, Wigalois [Gingalain], but this ain’t about him. There’s a character Marine who fights as a knight. She’s consistently referred to with she/her pronouns, but she’s renowned for her knightly virtues & fights alongside the men in the war. She’s treated very well narratively & dies in battle after apprehending a high-value hostage. Everyone mourns her & there’s a big funeral held in her honor. So even if Marine never presented herself as a man the way Yde or Silence do, she provides an example of a female thriving in a male role. Food for thought.
Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach
Another German banger from the 13th century. This one’s about a cis male knight but Parzival has transmasc vibes. Trust me. Here’s my favorite article about it called The Clothes Make The Man - Parzival Dressed & Undressed by Michael D. Amey that really illustrates what I mean.
After that, you can check out these retellings:
The Story of Silence by Alex Myers
I bought this but haven't read it yet. It’s a retelling about the aforementioned Le Roman de Silence. This book uses neutral they/them pronouns to refer to Silence, which I can say from experience sometimes causes confusion with readers, so it's good to study how this author did it & determine if that method feels right for you. (If you ever decide to do something like that with a character.)
Spear by Nicola Griffith + Spear's Author's Note
I enjoyed this one, beautiful prose. It didn’t feel like the most comprehensive Grail Quest retelling, but Peretur can be interpreted as a butch lesbian or transmasc, it’s ambiguous. She only uses masculine pronouns when stealth, otherwise using she/her, but it has a happy ending! It’s firmly set in the era & felt authentic on that front while letting the queer characters relax. Peretur isn’t alone. (A/G/L enjoyers keep winning + sapphic lady of the lake ftw + the other hotties Peretur pulled.) Definitely worth checking out.
The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman
This book just came out in 2024. Including it here is already a spoiler given the topic but I’m going to spoil fully from this point on so ignore this if that’s a problem. This is the best example I can give for your reading/writing tastes based on the ask; Dinadan is a trans man. His transness isn’t revealed in the main character Collum’s pov, but in Dinadan’s backstory pov, opening in his childhood. He & his twin brother were sent to different schools but young Dinadan would leave the girl’s school to practice knightly skills with the fay, which retroactively explains why he has a fairy sword that Collum was admiring. In exchange for this training, the fay ask that Dinadan slay Merlin. Which he agrees to while never believing he actually can, but the wrath of the fay in the afterlife is worth his ability to live as a knight. I love how it was all handled firstly because Dinadan has a fighting style that works for his smaller frame & because every knight has a different fighting style (Dagonet’s is “If it sucks hit da bricks.”) Dinadan doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb yet his physicality is accounted for. Secondly Dinadan explains the lengths he goes to in order to stay stealth from obvious ones like binding his breasts to pretending to shave his face every couple days & wearing a packer. Later on, Dinadan’s secrets are revealed when he goes swimming in the ocean with Palomides (who evidentially already knew) & Collum joins them. Collum had no idea, which I think brings up an interesting point about all of this which also reminds me of Gawain not recognizing that Beaumains was Gareth—the power of expectation. Just as Gawain expected to find a kitchen boy & would have no reason to assume his brother (who hit puberty since they last saw each other) would be stealth in the kitchens so therefore didn’t recognize him, Collum expects to find men as knights of the Round Table, so when Sir Dinadan is introduced, & Collum had heard of him before, Dinadan’s stature & high voice don’t register to Collum as anything but traits that this guy Dinadan happens to have. Learning Dinadan’s secret in the presence of another knight who already knows & is chill about it also encourages Collum to be accepting too. So giving Dinadan at least one ally in his corner throughout the story went a long way. In the end Merlin, who can only be killed by a man (which is why Nimue had to settle for sealing him away) is stabbed by Dinadan. So it’s like a reverse Silence/Éowyn situation that Dinadan’s gender is affirmed in his ability to kill Merlin. This book also includes the part from Le Morte d’Arthur where Dinadan’s forced to wear a dress, which in this context is very transphobic, but that’s the point. It’s made better when Dinadan gets to go insano style on Merlin so he gets payback. Just a heads up about that.
Some fantasy/scifi that’s not Arthurian but may help, as Arthuriana is largely fantasy to begin with, this may help you determine where on the spectrum your taste/writing falls regarding the bending of reality/history to fit your narrative.
Orlando: A Biography by Virginia Woolf
1928 novel about a character named Orlando living during the reign of Elizabeth I. Orlando is born male, then at some point in his early adulthood, falls into a deep sleep from which he awakens the exact same person, now metamorphosed to be female. Orlando, for her part, adopts this new role immediately & keeps on moving. She lives for 300 years as such & has many adventures, including an instance where she then presents as a man to elude marriage. Transitioned so she could cross dress in the other direction. She would’ve done numbers on tumblr. Ultimately, Orlando does marry… a gnc sea captain! The success of their marriage is attributed to their similarities in gender non-conformity. Even though this book only remains in the late medieval era for the opening, I think it’s a poignant example of a transgender individual living their life in their time & still getting to enjoy themselves without excessive suffering that may provide lots of inspiration.
The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin
1970 Hugo & Nebula award winning novel. A fascinating examination of gender from the point of view of a cis man named Genly Ai having to reconcile his interpretation of the gender binary when confronted with a society who operates outside that. His travels with ambisexual Estravan challenges what Ai understands about the universe. His ignorance forms the backbone of the narrative as he grows close to a person from this other society. Even if it’s not a medieval setting, it may help you develop a narrative voice regarding this subject you’re able to bring to your work. Also it’s just really good.
The Privilege of the Sword by Ellen Kushner
2007 Locus award winner, Nebula & Gaylactic Spectrum nominee. High fantasy medieval setting. Katherine is a country girl brought to the big city Riverside by her uncle the Duke where she’s offered the opportunity to train as swordsman (ie cross dress) instead of political marriage. She’s unsure of the reasoning behind her uncle’s motivations for doing this, but goes along with it & kicks ass. A preview is available on Google books (linked).
The Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb
This is my favorite series ever. It spans 16 books published between 1995-2017. The fandom on tumblr & ao3 is hugely active. (Avoid tags to dodge major spoilers or check it out for amazing art & many quotes!) The series has many gnc characters in a fantasy medieval setting. First & foremost, The Fool, who’s in all the books & whose gender ambiguity is mentioned book 1, to which he says, “None of your business.” The character ever. Without getting too specific, there are several trans characters including gender fluid characters who will alternate between masc/fem presentation & pronouns. This is my favorite example of gender fluid characters in any fantasy I’ve read, especially since there are several & each feels unique. In The Liveship Traders trilogy, Amber coaches another woman how to hide her period while pretending to be a ship’s boy by using a sock, so if anyone finds the blood on it, she can say she cut her foot. Little things like that really deepened the realism in an otherwise fantastical story for me, because addressing those details answers questions my overly analytical mind would ask & wonder about if unacknowledged.
Lastly I'd like to suggest the article Armour of an Alienating Identity by Jeffrey Jerome Cohen. While it doesn't mention Parzival (the text), it does mention Perceval (the character), as well as Gareth Beaumains, Lancelot, Gawain, Yvain, and even Arthur himself. It goes on to reference endless examples to support its thesis including Greek heroes such as Achilles and Odysseus with references to many different medieval stories from Old English Beowulf to the Irish Ulster cycle to the works of Geoffrey Chaucer. Most (if not all) of the texts mentioned in this essay can be found on my blog for cross reference if you desire, although the article already contains many quotes.
Okay I think that’s all I got. I’ve given you a ton to think about and read. Ultimately I don’t think there’s a clean cut answer for this. Nuance, you know? Having hired an editor and many sensitivity readers myself, it really is just a professional a vibe check sometimes. You write what you want to the best of your ability, then other people weigh in, and you keep tweaking it until it’s as good as you can possibly make it. During development, and even in its final form, there will be people who don’t enjoy your story and that’s fine. It isn’t for everyone, it’s for you and your audience. No single experience in this life is the same so each fictional depiction emulating life will also be unique, there’s no “right” answer on how to write this or anything else, only the way you want to.
Hopefully now you have some tools to help you learn how best to express your vision. I know they gave me a lot of insight and ideas I lacked before when writing trans characters in my books. Thank you for trusting me with this question and good luck with your project! Take care! :^)

Mabel Pines: Authority, Identity, and Emotional Growth
Mabel Pines emerges as one of the most vibrant characters, a sparkling counterpoint to her twin brother Dipper's analytical tendencies in Gravity Falls. With her colorful sweaters and boundless optimism, Mabel navigates the supernatural mysteries of Gravity Falls while simultaneously facing the challenges of growing up. By examining her relationships with authority figures, particularly her great uncles Stan and Ford, we can uncover crucial insights into her personality, values, and emotional development. The stark contrast between how Mabel and Dipper interact with these authority figures reveals fundamental aspects of Mabel's character: her emotional intelligence, resistance to change, need for validation, and complex journey toward maturity.
Mabel's Essential Character: Beyond the Sweaters
Before analyzing Mabel's relationships with authority figures, we must establish her core personality traits. Series creator Alex Hirsch clarifies a common misconception: "Mabel's not stupid. She's a ham! There's a big difference. Mabel's love of goofing off is a natural force of her personality, but she can still understand when people she cares about need help or are in danger." This distinction proves crucial—Mabel's playfulness doesn't equate to obliviousness or lack of intelligence.
Among the Pines family, Mabel possesses "the biggest heart," typically being the first one to try to make someone feel better or try to befriend them. Her creativity extends beyond her artistic pursuits into problem-solving, where she employs her own creative impulses and ideas to overcome challenges, such as spraying Bill's eye with spray paint or rearranging the clay monster. Her optimism balances Dipper's seriousness, reminding him not to grow up too fast and to have fun.
However, Mabel demonstrates less positive traits as well. She can come off as selfish when focused on fun, sometimes forgetting that just because she's having fun doesn't mean everyone else is. This self-centeredness manifests in her "stubbornly nosy" tendency to involve herself in others' business, particularly in matchmaking scenarios. Most significantly, she harbors a deep fear of growing up and resists change, a trait that defines her character arc and her relationships with authority figures.
Physically, Mabel expresses herself through "very active" body language that is very expressive and exaggerated, incorporating "twirls," "finger guns," and animated arm movements. This expressiveness reflects her emotional openness—Mabel wears her heart on her sleeve, contrasting sharply with her great uncles' more guarded natures.
Mabel and Grunkle Stan: Emotional Kinship
Mabel's relationship with her Grunkle Stan reveals much about how she views and relates to authority. Unlike Dipper, who often challenges Stan's schemes on moral or logical grounds, Mabel connects with Stan emotionally. She is typically the one who brings out the softer side of Stan and isn't afraid to call him out for neglecting to be polite like saying a simple 'please' or 'thank you'. This suggests a comfortable familiarity that allows her to gently challenge his rougher edges without creating serious conflict.
The relationship benefits both parties. Stan's gruffness doesn't intimidate Mabel, and she helps him access his more vulnerable side. They share a playful dynamic where they often share teasing jokes about Dipper, creating a bond that sometimes excludes Dipper. This alliance provides Mabel with validation from an authority figure without requiring her to fundamentally change who she is.
Some critics suggest that "Stan favored Mabel more than Dipper as well, and made him do all the potentially dangerous jobs around the house." While this perspective may be somewhat biased, it does indicate that Stan's relationship with his great-niece differs significantly from his relationship with his great-nephew. Where Dipper must often prove himself to Stan through trials, Mabel receives affection more freely.
An illuminating example of their dynamic appears when Stan explains his approach to toughening up Dipper. After recounting his own childhood boxing lessons, Stan reveals: "That's why I'm hard on Dipper to toughen him up so when the world fights he fights back." Notably, Stan doesn't apply this same "toughening up" philosophy to Mabel, suggesting he perceives and treats the twins differently based on their personalities and perceived needs.
This relationship reveals Mabel's need for emotional security and validation. She gravitates toward the authority figure who provides unconditional acceptance, allowing her to maintain her identity without significant challenge. Stan creates a space where Mabel can be herself without judgment—crucial for a character who fears growing up and changing.
Mabel and Ford: Fear and Resistance
Mabel's relationship with Ford presents a striking contrast to her connection with Stan. Where Stan's authority style embraces Mabel's personality, Ford's more academic approach aligns naturally with Dipper's interests and temperament. This creates tension for Mabel, who sees Ford as potentially separating her from her twin.
This fear culminates in "Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future," where Ford asks Dipper to become his apprentice. Mabel's reaction reveals her deepest insecurities—when faced with the possibility of Dipper staying in Gravity Falls while she returns home alone, she makes a catastrophic decision, accidentally making a deal with YOU KNOW WHO. This crisis demonstrates how Mabel's relationship with Ford is defined not by what they share but by her fear of what his influence might cost her.
When Dipper tries to explain Ford's offer, Mabel repeatedly says "you can totally go with Grunkle Ford to save the world or whatever" while noting that she'll be doing "birthday junk all week". The contrast between world-saving and "birthday junk" highlights the gap Mabel perceives between Ford's serious world and her desire for fun and celebration. When faced with difficult conversations about this future separation, she didn't want to hear what was being said to her, demonstrating her immature coping mechanisms when confronted with unwelcome change.
Ford himself may contribute to this tension by "projecting" onto Dipper and Mabel's relationship, possibly suggesting that "
Mabel is holding him back. This mirrors Ford's own complex relationship with his twin brother Stan, creating a parallel between the two sets of twins that Mabel intuitively resists.
Mabel's difficult relationship with Ford reveals her fear of abandonment, her resistance to growing up, and her anxiety about Dipper developing in ways that might separate him from her. Where Stan represents comfortable acceptance, Ford represents challenging growth that might threaten her sense of security and identity.
Contrasting Approaches to Authority: Dipper vs. Mabel
The stark difference in how the twins relate to Stan and Ford illuminates their contrasting approaches to authority more broadly. Dipper seeks intellectual validation and mentorship, looking to authority figures (particularly Ford) to guide his development. He looks up to him so much that he's probably going to glom on to whatever he says. This makes him receptive to Ford's academic, mission-oriented guidance but sometimes puts him at odds with Stan's less conventional authority style.
Mabel, conversely, seeks emotional validation and acceptance. She thrives under Stan's more permissive, affection-based authority but feels threatened by Ford's more structured approach. Where Dipper sees growth opportunities in Ford's challenges, Mabel sees potential loss and separation.
This difference reflects their fundamental personalities. Dipper is future-oriented, goal-directed, and driven by curiosity. Mabel lives more in the present, values emotional connections over intellectual pursuits, and prioritizes maintaining what she has over risking change. Neither approach is inherently superior, but they create different trajectories for the twins as they navigate the transition from childhood to adolescence.
Authority and Identity Formation: Mabel's Emotional Journey
Mabel's interactions with Stan and Ford reveal much about her internal struggle with identity formation. Stan represents the comfort of childhood unconditional acceptance, fun without consequences, and freedom from change. Ford represents the challenges of growing up increased responsibilities, intellectual demands, and the painful necessity of separation.
Mabel's preference for Stan's authority style and resistance to Ford's influence demonstrate her fear of growing up. She wants to preserve her bond with Dipper and maintain her carefree approach to life, both of which seem threatened by Ford's more serious perspective.
This resistance isn't simply selfishness it reflects Mabel's genuine anxiety about losing what matters most to her: her relationship with Dipper, her freedom to express herself, and her joyful approach to life. While critics argue that "she didn't get developed properly, and actually regressed towards the end of the series," her struggle with growing up represents a realistic challenge that many early adolescents face.
Conclusion: The Authority Mirror
Mabel's interactions with authority figures provide a window into her complex development. Through her comfortable relationship with Stan, we see her strengths her emotional intelligence, her ability to bring out others' best qualities, and her commitment to joy even in difficult circumstances. Through her tense relationship with Ford, we witness her struggles with her fear of change, her occasional selfishness when threatened, and her immature coping mechanisms.
These relationships reveal Mabel as neither simply selfish nor simply sweet she is a mixture of admirable qualities and realistic flaws. Her resistance to Ford stems not from mere stubbornness but from a deeper fear that growing up might mean losing what matters most. Her embrace of Stan reflects not just a desire for indulgence but a genuine connection with his more emotional approach to life.
Understanding Mabel through her authority relationships allows us to see beyond reductive interpretations. She is neither the underdeveloped character that critics describe nor a flawless beacon of positivity. She is a young person navigating the difficult terrain between childhood and adolescence, sometimes stumbling but always maintaining her essential Mabel-ness, her creativity, expressiveness, and big heart.
Her journey reminds us that there are multiple paths to maturity. The tension between Mabel's approach and Dipper's reflected in their different relationships with Stan and Ford illustrates this diversity of development. Neither twin is "right" or "wrong" in how they relate to authority, but each reveals different aspects of the complex process of growing up and finding one's place in the world.

Can you please with a cherry on top write. (Au where Cornelia died after blue eyes birth) Where Caesar is thinking of having reader as his mate but Koba keeps saying she will hurt the colony and baby blue eyes so when blue eyes normally goes to reader during the day Caesar takes him to another female ape and reader is confused and hurt but doesn't say anything until blue eyes sneaks away to be with reader and then Caesar realises reader is perfect mother and mate material. Thank you. :)))))))
And I just don't Koba. 😒
Okay… this is my VERY FIRST time writing for Caesar. I think I like it… I hope you do!
~
Motherly Instincts
Caesar's grief was palpable as he mourned the loss of Cornelia, his mate, and the mother of his child. The pain of her passing was a heavy burden on his heart, and he struggled to come to terms with the void she had left behind. Though Blue Eyes brought joy to his life, the absence of his mate left a deep sense of sorrow and emptiness within him.
Your journey started soon after, with Maurice finding you abandoned and in dire straits, your life hanging in the balance. You were emaciated and weak, struggling to survive on your own. Maurice, filled with compassion and care, stepped in to rescue you, bringing you into their family and providing the love and nurturing you desperately needed.
Blue Eyes, took an immediate liking to you. With small, delicate hands, the infant would reach out, seemingly drawn to you. Your presence would bring a ray of light into the weary days, your smile able to brighten the darkest of moods. Your connection with Blue Eyes was instantaneous and deep, a bond that would only grow stronger as time passed.
One particular morning, Caesar sensed a subtle but profound shift in his heart. He stood watching Blue Eyes with you, witnessing the bond between you and his child. There was a tenderness in your interactions, an affinity that stirred within him. As he observed the two of you together, he felt a protective instinct flare up deep inside him, recognizing that your connection with Blue Eyes went beyond mere friendship.
Caesar observed you interacting with his son from his spot next to Maurice. He couldn't help but notice a small smile forming on his face as he watched the gentle way you handled Blue Eyes.
Maurice, perceptive as ever, noticed Caesar's expression and signed to his friend, "Human treats Blue Eyes well…. be good mother… and mate." There was a hint of playful teasing in his sign.
Caesar's response was nonchalant, signaling that he wasn't opposed to the idea at all. He had grown fond of you, engaging in personal conversations and even sharing meals together. The bond between the two of you had grown beyond mere acquaintance, and there was a sense of comfort and familiarity in your interactions. Caesar recognized the potential the idea held, a thought he couldn't dismiss.
Koba, on the other hand, had a completely different perspective on the matter. His attitude towards you was one of caution and wariness. He seemed to view you as an outsider, someone who didn't quite fit into their world. His distrust was evident in the way he observed your interactions with Blue Eyes and Caesar, a constant skepticism lurking behind his gaze.
Koba points down at you, a look of disdain in his eyes. He motions to you with a sense of accusation, his signs conveying his distrust. "Human...ruin...home..." he signs. The message is clear - Koba believes you are a threat, someone who will destroy their way of life. He warns of your potential to tear their home apart.
As Caesar continues to watch you, his heart is torn between two conflicting desires - the safety and stability of the colony, and his own happiness, a rare sentiment for him to consider. The decision he needed to make weighed heavily on his mind, as he grappled with the opposing forces pulling him in different directions.
You can't help but let out a laugh as Blue Eyes cling to you, refusing to let go. You try gently to peel his small hands away, attempting to tuck him into his nest for the night.
"You have to go to sleep," you tell him, a mix of sternness and affection in your voice. Blue Eyes, however, is stubborn, holding on to you with a strong grip, unwilling to give in to your attempts to make him rest.
Caesar enters his home quietly, catching you amid your struggle with Blue Eyes. A soft smile graces his lips as he observes the scene before him, and he speaks softly. "He likes you," he muses, his voice filled with gentle warmth. The sight of you trying to put the stubborn Blue Eyes to sleep seems to bring a touch of amusement to Caesar.
As soon as Blue Eyes notices Caesar, the youngster eagerly dashes towards his father, enveloping him in a loving embrace. You watch the heartwarming moment with a flutter in your heart, appreciating the undeniable bond between father and son. Caesar reciprocates the embrace, his strong yet gentle arms wrapping around Blue Eyes. It's evident in this interaction that Caesar is not only a great leader but also an incredible father, effortlessly balancing his responsibilities with affection and love towards his child.
Caesar hums softly as he picks up Blue Eyes, settling the young ape onto his hip. He turns his gaze towards you, his eyes filled with both tenderness and a hint of concern. “He gives you… trouble today?” he asks, referring to Blue Eyes’ stubborn refusal to go to sleep.
You shrug and let out a small laugh, explaining the situation. "He just doesn't want to go to sleep," you say. As you ruffle the soft fur on Blue Eyes' head, you add, "He's just being stubborn." Caesar nods, a mixture of affection and understanding in his eyes. He knows his son's stubborn nature all too well.
Blue Eyes, perched on Caesar's lap, glances at you and extends a small hand, signing a "stay." His request is simple and endearing as if he doesn't want you to leave.
Your heart swells as Blue Eyes looks at you, signing his small hands to ask you to stay, but you know you have to go back to your own sleeping space. "I have to go to my own nest, Blue," you tell him gently, a hint of regret in your voice.
Caesar's words come out swiftly, his mouth moving quickly before his mind catches up. His eyes widen slightly as he realizes what he's just said, a sense of surprise and mild embarrassment evident in his expression. "You could... stay," he repeats, his voice laced with a mixture of uncertainty and unexpected invitation.
Silence hangs in the air as Caesar's words linger. It's a moment of realization for both you and Caesar, as the weight of the unexpected invitation settles in. The usually composed ape king seems momentarily caught off guard by his suggestion, his gaze locked on you, awaiting your response.
As Caesar's words hang in the air, your eyes widen in surprise. You grapple with the question of his intentions - did he truly want you to stay, or was he simply trying to appease his son? It's difficult to hide the fact that your own feelings for Caesar have begun to bloom, a secret that's becoming harder to keep hidden. The tension between you and Caesar is palpable, waiting for your response to his unexpected invitation.
Silence once again blankets the space between you and Caesar, the air thick with anticipation. The usually composed ape king keeps his gaze fixed on you, his eyes searching your face for any hint of how you are feeling about his proposal. He appears to be silently pleading, hoping you'll accept his invitation.
“If you want.” Caesar's eyes flicker with a mix of relief and anticipation at your response. The tension in his shoulders eases slightly, a sense of hope and a hint of vulnerability in his expression. It's clear that Caesar is silently yearning for you to stay, his desire evident in the way he watches you.
Blue Eyes, seemingly sensing your decision, crawls into your lap and snuggles against you, seeking the comfort of your embrace. The young ape's gesture is sweet and poignant as if expressing his approval of your decision to stay. Caesar watches the interaction, a soft smile playing at the corners of his lips.
You glance down at Blue Eyes, who is now comfortably snuggled in your lap. A smile graces your lips as you gently speak to him, asking, "Now you ready?" The young ape responds with a soft, satisfied murmur, appearing more relaxed and sleepy now that you've agreed to stay.
You move to the back, cradling Blue Eyes gently in your arms. You hold him close, snuggling with him until he finally drifts off to sleep, his little body relaxing and his hold on you loosening. The sight is heartwarming, as Blue Eyes finds comfort and security in your presence, his sleepy form at peace in his nest.
You press a gentle kiss to Blue Eyes' forehead, a tender gesture of affection. As you slowly move to exit the nest, a sense of satisfaction fills your chest. The sight of the young ape sleeping peacefully brings a smile to your face, a sense of accomplishment in having helped soothe him to sleep.
As you step back into the firelight, your mind is abuzz with thoughts, contemplating the significance of your decision to stay. Caesar remains seated by the fire, waiting for your arrival with a mixture of anticipation and curiosity. The air between you seems to crackle with tension, the weight of the moment palpable.
The moment is interrupted by the sudden appearance of Koba, his ominous shadow casting a presence in the doorway. He stands there, silhouetted in the darkness, his figure a stark contrast against the flickering firelight. His presence is unexpected, adding an extra layer of tension to the already charged atmosphere.
Koba's gaze settles on you, his eyes filled with a cold suspicion that has lingered since the very beginning. The sight of you in Caesar's personal space, in his nest, seems to heighten his distrust. It's clear from the way he looks at you that Koba is more convinced than ever that you are a threat, a danger to their community.
You can't help but feel small and vulnerable under the intense glare of Koba's gaze. His suspicions and wariness towards you are palpable, and it's clear that his presence at this moment is not a simple coincidence. His eyes follow your every movement as if silently judging your every action.
Caesar, aware of the tension in the air, rises to his feet, addressing Koba directly. "What is it… Koba?" he asks, his voice calm yet firm. Caesar's stance is one of composure, but there's an edge to his words, a subtle warning to the other ape.
The moment hangs in the air, a triangle of tension forming between you, Koba, and Caesar. The ape king waits for Koba's response, his gaze fixated on the other ape's face, his body language displaying a mixture of authority and caution.
Sensing the mounting tension, you take the initiative to stand, intending to leave the situation. "Um, Caesar," you say, your voice somewhat shaky. "I will just see you tomorrow." You make a move to exit, but before you go, you turn to Caesar and bid him a soft, "Goodnight." The atmosphere is thick with an uneasy energy as you navigate past the two apes, attempting to distance yourself from the intense exchange.
As you leave, Koba's gaze follows you, his eyes filled with a mixture of hostility and disdain. The sight of you descending back to your home, your status lower than his, seems to only fuel his suspicions and dislike towards you.
Koba, his voice dripping with venomous suspicion, questions Caesar, "Why…human here? In...Caesar...home?" His words are laced with distrust, suggesting that he can't fathom why you're in Caesar's personal space. Kobo doesn't trust your presence in the ape king's home.
Caesar's response is firm and straightforward, yet tinged with a hint of protectiveness. "Blue Eyes wanted her... here," he repeats. Despite the simplicity of the answer, there's no denying the protective tone in his voice. Caesar's decision to allow you to stay is rooted in his son's comfort and desire for your presence.
Koba's scoff carries a hint of ridicule as if the idea of Blue Eyes being the sole reason for your presence seems unlikely to him. He poses a question. "Blue Eyes... or Caesar?" The implication is clear - Koba suspects that Caesar's desires, rather than just his son's need, are at play in your presence.
Caesar averts his gaze from his friend, Koba. Despite the challenges Koba presents, his loyalty and contributions to Caesar cannot be denied. The ape king seems caught between his trust in Koba and his feelings regarding your presence. The dilemma is evident in his expression.
Caesar's voice takes on a persuasive tone as he defends your presence, "She is helpful... with Blue Eyes. She cares... for us." There's a hint of determination in his words, a conviction that your presence has been beneficial for his son and the community as a whole. His argument suggests that your role in caring for Blue Eyes is a valid reason for your accommodation in his home.
Koba's scoff becomes louder and more pointed, his words taking on a harsher tone. "She will... kill. us all... all... humans do!" The ape's distrust and skepticism towards your kind are evident in his statement. He strongly believes that humans, like you, pose a threat that cannot be ignored. The weight of his fear and suspicion hangs heavily in the air.
Koba presses on, his tone growing more intense, "You wait... too long... and Blue Eyes... will be... gone... be... her fault." His statement takes on a sinister quality as if he sees your presence as a ticking time bomb for the safety and well-being of the younger apes. Koba's belief in your destructive nature is clear, and he seems convinced that you pose a significant risk to the ape community.
Koba's words hit a nerve in Caesar, igniting a spark of fear within him. The king of the apes, although hopeful for humanity, has had more negative experiences with humans than positive ones. The stark reality of this imbalance weighs heavily on Caesar's mind, and Koba's warning only serves to further deepen the ape king's doubts and reservations.
As Caesar ponders Koba's words, a wave of uncertainty washes over him. Perhaps Koba does have a point, and your presence could be detrimental to the colony or even to himself. Doubts begin to cloud Caesar's mind, casting a shadow over his previous conviction to keep you near.
Early in the morning, you approach Caesar's dwelling, making your presence known before entering. You knock gently on the threshold, your heart fluttering with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. The moment feels significant, as you prepare to enter Caesar's private space and be closer to the ape king.
You greet Caesar with a warm smile as you spot him basking in the sun while gazing out over his land. "Good morning," you say, your voice soft yet cheerful. The sight of Caesar in this moment, seemingly at peace amidst the beauty of nature, evokes a sense of calm and awe within you.
You notice Caesar's silent nod in response, but there are no words exchanged. You instinctively glance around for Blue Eyes, your eyes searching for the young ape's presence. However, his absence catches your attention, leaving you curious about his whereabouts.
You ask the question that lingers on your mind, "Where's Blue Eyes?" Your voice carries a hint of concern, as you wonder about the young ape’s whereabouts. Caesar continues to gaze out at the landscape before replying, his voice steady yet tinged with a hint of melancholy.
Caesar's response answers your question, "With Ginger… With other young." There's a tinge of melancholy in his voice, and he doesn't turn to face you. The mention of Blue Eyes spending time with the other young apes and Ginger stirs an unexpected pang in your heart.
“Oh, okay.” You approach Caesar, attempting to engage him in conversation or perhaps suggesting an outing, but Caesar's response is curt. "No... very busy," he says, shaking his head. The firmness in his tone and the lack of eye contact suggest that he's preoccupied and not particularly interested in conversation or spending time together at the moment.
Caesar moves past you without another word, his footsteps echoing with a sense of firmness. The sudden departure leaves you standing alone, baffled by his aloof behavior. You're left with a mixture of emotions - confusion, disappointment, and perhaps a hint of hurt at the abrupt end of your attempt at connecting with him.
As days pass, you notice that Blue Eyes is consistently sent with any female ape except for you. This repeated pattern doesn’t escape your notice, and a feeling of unease starts to take hold. It becomes clear that there’s a deliberate effort to keep you apart from Caesar's son, and the reason behind it remains a mystery. The thought that something might be wrong gnaws at you, and you can’t shake the sense that there's more to this situation than meets the eye.
You try to think of any possible reason for the sudden distance. Did you do something wrong? Were you disrespectful in some way? No matter how hard you wrack your brain, you can’t come up with an answer. The lack of explanations and the persistent sense of exclusion leave you feeling confused and frustrated.
Caesar walks by you once again, his eyes avoiding direct contact. There's a sense of detachment in his demeanor as if he can't bring himself to acknowledge your presence. The indifference in his gaze is palpable, leaving you feeling invisible in his world.
At dinner, Blue Eyes attempts to make his way towards you, Koba intervenes, quickly stopping the young ape. "Dangerous," Koba hisses, his finger pointing in your direction. Caesar observes the scene, seeing the confusion in his son's eyes and the clear desire to approach you. Blue Eyes' longing to find comfort in your presence is evident, and the situation tugs at Caesar's heartstrings.
As you discreetly excuse yourself from the gathering, Caesar's eyes follow your movements, noticing your early departure. He's aware of your absence, even if he doesn't express any reaction outwardly. Caesar watches as his son, Blue Eyes, follows your path, sneaking off in your direction. The young ape's determination to find you is evident and Caesar can't help but observe the connection between you two.
Caesar rises to his feet, his attention now fully on following after you and Blue Eyes. His instincts kick in as he realizes the need to keep an eye on the young ape and the dynamic between you two.
Caesar continues to watch as you both approach your humble dwelling, situated at the very bottom of the colony. The location is not lost on him, as the desolate and cold surroundings stand out starkly compared to the rest of the colony. The physical distance from him adds another layer to the complexity of the situation.
Caesar wants you closer to him, not just physically but emotionally as well. The realization of this desire adds an extra layer to Caesar's complex feelings towards you.
Blue Eyes, feeling the effects of being separated from you, clings to you desperately, hooting and crying in distress. It's clear that the little monkey is overwhelmed by the situation, and the physical separation from you has taken its toll. The young ape seeks comfort and reassurance in your presence.
You regard Blue Eyes with a soft smile, but sadness lurks within your heart. "You're not supposed to be here, Blue," you gently remind him, your voice filled with a mix of concern and warmth. It's clear that you understand the complexity of the situation, and the fact that the young ape shouldn't be at your dwelling alone adds an extra layer of worry to your expression.
A deep voice pierces the air as Caesar steps into your home, the dimly lit surroundings casting an air of mystery. He speaks with a hint of regret, his words carrying the weight of his realization. "seems... I have been foolish," Caesar admits, his voice filled with a mixture of introspection and remorse.
As you look up at Caesar, a mix of confusion and surprise shows on your face. The sudden appearance of the ape king in your home after the distant treatment of the past several days puzzles you. With Blue Eyes in your arms, you explain, "He came to me." There's a hint of defense in your words as if you feel the need to justify the situation.
Caesar responds with a soft smile, his demeanor slightly softening. His words carry a tone of understanding, "I know." There's a subtle admission in his acknowledgment, suggesting that he knew all along about his son's actions.
Caesar takes a step closer, his movements deliberate and somewhat intense. The distance between you both shrinks as he moves closer, his gaze fixed on you.
The air seems to thicken with tension as Caesar comes closer, his proximity sending a shiver down your spine. His presence is both authoritative and intriguing, and you can't help but feel a mixture of anticipation and apprehension. In the dimly lit space, the power dynamic between you and the ape king is palpable.
Caesar's voice breaks the silence as he regards the sight of Blue Eyes clinging to you. His words carry a hint of resignation and understanding. "He needs you," Caesar murmurs, his gaze fixed on the young ape's desperate hold on you. He's acknowledged the bond between you and his son, and the depth of Blue Eyes' attachment to you.
Caesar's expression falters, and it's clear that there's more he wants to say. His eyes remain fixed on you and the child, a mix of emotions playing across his features. There's a conflict within him, a struggle between his thoughts and his words.
Caesar's voice is soft and hesitant as he utters his words, "I... need you." The statement hangs in the air, filled with vulnerability and a hint of uncertainty. It's a confession that seems difficult for him to vocalize, suggesting that his dependence on you runs deeper than he anticipated.
Caesar's hand moves gently to cup your face, his palm warm against your skin. His gaze locks with yours, and the intensity of his eyes pierces through the dim lighting. There's a flicker of vulnerability in his eyes, a hint of raw emotion that betrays the stoic ape king's usual demeanor.
Caesar moves closer, his head descending to meet yours. In the intimate space, your foreheads touch, and the connection between you two becomes electric. The touch is filled with a potent mix of passion and vulnerability as if he can no longer resist the pull between you two.
Caesar's voice is firm yet gentle as he speaks, his words carrying a sense of finality. "You will stay... with us... from now on," he says, his head still pressed against yours. There's a subtle possessiveness in his tone as if he's claiming you for himself and his son.
The realization of being a family with Caesar and Blue Eyes settles upon you, a powerful notion that fills your heart with a mixture of joy and responsibility. The idea of the three of you together as a unified unit strengthens the connection between you all, forging an unbreakable bond built on love and loyalty.

Reading Wolverine comics after watching the movies has me absolutely falling in love with the "man or animal" motif that follows Logan literally everywhere.
// Marvel Comics Presents (1991): Issue #75
My favourite read so far is the short 4 issue series, Wolverine (1982), which the 2013 Wolverine movie is based on. Bascially it being about Logan trying not to lose Mariko to an arranged marriage and the cultural powers at play to which he isn't privy to. Furthermore, it absolutely dense with character-centered narrative with Logan's inner conflict surrounding the balancing act he must preform between embracing his animalistic side and his desire to be more than the killer he's always been, whilst he struggles with fitting into japanese society and the japanese underground. I could not reccomend it enough. Issue #3 is such a standout for me, all the excerpts provided are from it also.
One of the scenes i think highlight what im getting at with the motif is how Logan actively interprets an event that took place previously in the story. Earlier, he had fought Shingen (Mariko's father) to defend his own honor and for him to overrule Mariko's marriage so they may be together again, ultimately he not only loses but he humiliates and dishonors himself in the process. In this scene, he has a dream about the battle in a sequence that showcases what that humiliation actually meant for him in relation to his internal fight to let go of the animal he thinks himself of.
Despite how undisputable his physical strength is, the defeat he endures against Shingen crushes him and defines his motivations for the entire series. The words Mariko says in his dream, bascially defining him as a fraud and unworthy of her love, and the panel that follows this one saying he is also unworthy of life, is pretty indicative of his fear that his primal instincts- what he defines himself as -negates his noble aspirations to be a better man, overshadowing his morality.
It's also interestingly delved into with how his relationship with Mariko and his following romance with Yukio is contrasted in how they have an effect on Wolverine's internal conflict: Mariko's influence makes him want to strive for self-improvement, to appease her, while Yukio is able to accept who he is
Mariko's influence makes him want to strive for self-improvement, to appease her, while Yukio is able to accept who he is and his nature. The growth and control vs embracing your supposed truth serves as a new perspective to view Logan from. Basically, it's a reflection of how Logan himself is struggling to not only balance both aspects of himself, but also his struggle to accept them in the first place.
Going back to the films, I think they do a good job of adapting this method of symbolizing his self-reflection. For instance, in the origins movie, one of the conflicts I love from it is how this exact concept is adapted to Kayla and Victor. Kayla, being the stand-in for Mariko, motivates Logan to move past his animalistic side, literally telling him "you're not an animal, logan", whilst Victor is the force that wants him to ditch assimilation and embrace his mutations completely, though in this case it's much more violent and psychotic than Yukio's approach in the comic. The film version is a whole new exploration of his characterin its own right since it's more like these two opposing ideas are telling him what he should be, and the consequent struggle between what he should choose.
Though, and this is just my interpretation, what I appreciate most of this theme is that it managed to be so confusing for Logan that it circles back to being ironic. Because yes, he failed Mariko and he failed Yukio, he failed to assimilate to societal standards and he failed to be true to himself- whatever that really is -but I think one of his biggest failings is concluding for so long that he is an animal and therefore not a man, when in reality he has shown nothing but human desires, ambitions to change, to choose. He is an animal, it's just that that animal is a man.

Imagine that both Sirius and Severus survive at the end of the series, and it also comes to light that Severus was a double agent all his life and everything he did. Do you think Sirius's view of him would have changed? Do you think they would have had a good relationship or at least a cordial one?
I want to preface this by saying that I don’t think we should focus on Sirius when considering whether the two of them could get along civilly, because Sirius’s perspective is not the one that matters—it’s Severus’s as the victim. Severus was the one who was mistreated, Severus was the one who was harassed and tormented by Sirius, so if the two of them were ever to have a relationship, even a merely cordial one, it would depend on Severus and whether he was willing to move on. And he has no obligation to move on. Victims do not have to forgive their abusers or get along with them or give them the satisfaction of feeling forgiven or free of guilt. That’s not something they are required to do because they don’t owe them anything.
But well, to answer the other questions…
When I’ve read some Snirius fics, this is often the trigger for Sirius to change his perspective—Sirius finding out that Severus is, in reality, breaking his back to save everyone. This realization makes him "see reason," but I’ve always felt that this oversimplifies Sirius Black’s personality. I see him as more complex, or at least I like to think he is. I think Sirius despised Severus not only because he wanted to fit into a world Sirius hated but also because of Sirius's aristocratic upbringing, which deeply influenced his disdain. Severus didn’t just want everything Sirius had rejected—he was also a poor, working-class, half-blood kid who didn’t belong to the world he aspired to. Severus did everything he could to climb socially, trying to earn a place in a social stratum that didn’t belong to him and that isn’t achieved through effort but through birthright. I think Sirius, in addition to resenting Severus for aspiring to what he despised, found him pathetic. He thought it was pitiful and pathetic for a nobody to want to reach the top of the social hierarchy, and he basically considered Severus a ridiculous, laughable loser. When it came to Severus, I think Sirius had two issues: on the one hand, Severus wanted what Sirius rejected, and on the other, he aspired to a world that wasn’t his. And I believe that Sirius, just as his family viewed Muggle-borns as "others," as depersonalized beings, as people whose humanity they stripped away to justify their disdain, did the same to Severus. Sirius reflected all the elitist and violent education he had received at home in his bullying of Severus.
If we look at their relationship during Order of the Phoenix, we can see that Sirius has been reduced to a burden, someone who serves no purpose to the Order beyond providing a headquarters. It’s obvious that the balance of power in their relationship has flipped. Severus is no longer the defenseless kid at a disadvantage, the one with "bad" ideas that served as an excuse to treat him as a punching bag, the one you could try to kill without facing consequences because Dumbledore didn’t care. Now Severus is an adult who has become an incredibly powerful wizard but, more importantly, an extremely efficient agent. So efficient, so useful, and so competent that he’s Dumbledore’s right-hand man and knows things no other member of the Order does. Severus is now a key player, and Sirius is basically a wreck—and he can’t stand it. He really can’t take it. This is clear in their confrontations. The only reason Sirius gets away with it is that Severus lowers himself to his level because of the immense trauma he carries; he can’t help but be triggered when his abuser says something to him. But if Severus weren’t so emotionally broken, he could have easily left Sirius crying in a corner.
If it were revealed that Severus was actually the linchpin in Dumbledore’s plan to defeat Voldemort while Sirius was still alive, and it was also known that he did it all for Lily, I think Sirius would not only question everything he thought about him but also feel a surge of rage and humiliation. Suddenly, the kid he used to hit and torment, the one he almost killed, the one he didn’t even consider a person, the one he gleefully mistreated because he told himself Severus deserved it, turned out to be someone far more efficient, competent, and useful than him. To top it off, Severus managed to deceive and manipulate half the wizarding world, sacrificed his life for the cause, let everyone believe he was the worst scum imaginable for the greater good, and ultimately helped Harry far more than Sirius ever did. That would truly eat Sirius alive. It would feel like a massive blow to his pride because Sirius Black, the rebel, but most importantly, a Black—someone destined for glory, someone who chose the right path from the beginning, someone who was always on the side of good, who spent years in prison unjustly, who always protected his friends—couldn’t manage to do even a tenth of what that jerk he bullied in school did.
Severus is like the prodigal son in the parable: the one who strays from the path and, when he returns, the father showers him with gifts and blessings for coming back. Sirius is the brother who reproaches the father, saying he’s always been there but the father seems happier about his ungrateful brother returning, and he doesn’t think that’s fair. I believe that would be Sirius’s initial reaction—without a doubt. I’m sure of it. I also think he’d try to influence Harry, telling him that Severus wasn’t that great. But Harry would shut him down, telling him to stop hating because he’s wrong, and that would frustrate Sirius even more.
Personally, I think that if Severus had survived, he would want nothing to do with the people connected to his miserable past, except perhaps McGonagall, with whom he’d likely remain in contact, and maybe the Malfoys, though I imagine his relationship with them would need years of healing due to the years he spent deceiving them. I don’t think he’d want much to do with Harry and his gang, and certainly not Sirius Black. However, if they had to be in the same room or ran into each other occasionally, I believe they would still dislike each other. Sirius wouldn’t be able to handle the frustration of Severus being the epitome of bravery and sacrifice, and Severus would never fully forgive Sirius. I think their first encounters would end in fights, but perhaps over the years—many years—this could evolve into what’s called a "friendly rivalry," in the sense that they’d never truly like each other but would develop a strange, dysfunctional kind of camaraderie due to knowing each other for so long. If they got to know each other better, they might transition from outright hatred to merely having a healthy rivalry. But there would always be that aura of a divorced couple who can’t stand each other.
