you'd been through a tough fight with an upper moon demon all by yourself since you were the only hashira there and all your comrades were lower ranking demon slayers who were defeated by the demon. it was so long that it lasted until sunrise, but you managed to defeat it with your great talent and abilities. you were one of the strongest hashiras out there after all. however it left you severely injured that you had to be taken immediately to the butterfly estate, and it surely traumatized you. being put in a life or death situation and seeing your comrades die one by one was quite the harsh experience, you wanted to save everyone, you wanted to come back victorious without losing anyone. but it wasn't the case.

your boyfriend, kyojuro, once the news of you being transferred to the butterfly estate reached his ears he instantly dropped whatever he had in his hands and headed to where you were. he slowly walked in and sat right by your side. and there you were, eyes closed and your body was covered in bandages. he clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles turned white, he watched you with his heart full of concern and with a pained look all over his face.

his body flinched slightly when he heard you murmur some incoherent noises in your sleep as your eyebrows furrowed. he gently held your hand as his thumb soothingly stroked the back of your hand. kyojuro's heart shattered when a few tear drops fell from your eyes and down your cheeks, he began blaming himself for not being there on time to help you out and left you all alone.

his train of thoughts was immediately cut short when you startled him by getting up with a panicked expression on your face, wincing in pain from your injuries and panting as drops of cold sweat had formed onto your forehead. you had an awful nightmare, the horrific events of earlier replayed themselves ruthlessly and violently, the sight of the spilled crimson blood was very clear, the faces of those who died were so awfully vivid, their desperate eyes and screams haunted you.

“i-i failed… i couldn’t do anything, kyojuro. i couldn’t save anyone..” more tears continued to escape your eyes and fell onto your cheeks, a strong feeling of guilt mixed with sadness and regret took over your heart.

upon seeing you in distraught, kyojuro extended his other free arm out and rested a hand on the side of your cheek, and the moment your cold skin came into contact with the warmth of his hand you felt all your fears and worries washing away slowly.

“you tried your best, y/n. you did everything you could. you surely didn’t fail.” he tried to console you, his hand still tightly holding onto yours.

“but we have to move on, we have to keep fighting. for the sake of our lost comrades.” you nod as kyojuro slowly began wiping away your tears, his thumb gently rubbed against your cheek and you leaned into his comforting touch. the one thing you loved about your boyfriend the most was his ability to say the things you needed to hear the most at the perfect timing.

"i'm so glad you came back alive, not that i didn't trust your abilities or anything but i was so worried about you, and sorry i wasn't there to protect you, y/n. it must’ve been hard on you." his grip onto your hand began to get tighter, and the genuine concern in his voice broke your heart a little. you knew your boyfriend has a high sense of responsibility, and he'd blame himself for not doing any better in regards of your safety.

you freed your hand from kyojuro’s grip and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him so close to you to the point where it felt like your bodies were glued together. your fingers run through his fiery, blond hair. he let a heavy sigh escape his lips as he secured his arms around you, savoring your scent that he missed so much.

“don’t blame yourself, kyojuro. none of this was ever your fault.” you gently patted his back, you could feel him slowly relaxing as he rested his chin on top of your head.

“i’ll never let anyone hurt you ever again, i promise i’ll protect you with my life.” kyojuro’s oath of protection had brought a sense of comfort and relief to your heart. at this exact moment, you were very grateful for having him by your side. you always felt safe and sound around him, and he provided you with the strength you needed to overcome any hardships, so this too, shall also pass.

It started, as most mildly unhinged things in the Parks Department did, with Leslie Knope making a spreadsheet titled “Operation Get Those Two Adorable Dorks Together.”

“Look at them” she whispered to Ann, pointing across the bullpen. “They’re like Jim and Pam, but with more budget reports and less kissing! It's TRAGIC.”

“Do you think they know how obvious it is?” Ann asked, sipping her coffee.

“No” Leslie said, pulling out a binder labeled Ben + Y/N: Road to Romance. “That’s why we, as a department, must intervene subtly. With grace. With dignity. And also maybe with a fake work retreat where they have to share a tent.”

April, overhearing, added without looking up from her computer, “I already started a betting pool.”

“YES!” Leslie high-fived her. “That’s the spirit!”

The only person who remained completely oblivious to the romantic tension that had been simmering for nearly a year was Chris Traeger.

“I just want to say” he announced one morning, “that the synergy between Ben and Y/N is LITERALLY the most productive pairing I have ever seen in a government setting. Perhaps in any setting. Perhaps in history.”

“Cool, cool” Tom muttered, “Can I put forty on ‘Ben cracks by Thursday’?”

You had tried to be professional. Truly, you had.

But Ben Wyatt was infuriatingly handsome in a floppy-haired, budget-conscious, accidentally-charming way. And every time he adjusted his tie while blushing after you complimented his latest economic model, your resolve wavered like a raccoon at a salad bar in Pawnee.

It didn’t help that Leslie kept giving you and Ben joint assignments. Or inviting only the two of you to her weird, theme-heavy “Team Bonding Brunches.” Or sending emails with subject lines like “Just Two Smart Attractive People Needed For This Task – Others Don’t Qualify.”

Ben, for his part, was drowning.

He wasn’t exactly smooth. His flirting style could best be described as “mild panic" especially when you wore that blazer he once accidentally told Donna “radiated competence and charm and kind of made his knees feel weird.”

He thought maybe you liked him back. But what if he ruined things? What if you didn’t feel the same? What if he became the emotional Ice Town of your career?

So he stayed quiet. And longed. And ate his feelings in the form of an unhealthy amount of calzones.

Then came the Parks Department “Synergy Brainstorm” scheduled by Chris Traeger in a moment of extreme enthusiasm and a post-kale smoothie high.

“Ben! Y/N!” Chris beamed, placing two color-coded folders in front of you. “Your connection is LITERALLY the backbone of this department’s functionality. I would like you to remain here and brainstorm for an extra hour. No distractions. Just pure, focused, platonic synergy!”

And with that, he left, the door clicking shut behind him.

Ben looked at you. You looked at Ben.

And something shifted.

“I don’t think I can do this anymore” you said softly.

Ben blinked. “The synergy meeting?”

“No. This whole… pretending-not-to-be-slowly-falling-in-love-with-you thing.”

He froze.

“Oh my god” he said. “You too?”

You let out a nervous laugh. “Ben, we’ve been dancing around this for months. I’m pretty sure April made a voodoo doll about it.”

“She did” he said. “It winked at me once.”

Silence. Then, awkwardly, sweetly:

“Do you want to go out to dinner sometime?”

“Yes. Like, desperately.”

And then, Ben kissed you. It was warm and tentative and wonderful, like everything that had been building up between you had finally found a place to land.

Outside the conference room, the entire department (minus Chris) let out a muffled cheer.

Leslie burst into the bullpen fifteen minutes later with two sets of color-coded champagne flutes.

“I KNEW IT” she shouted, waving a glittery binder in the air. “You beautiful government nerds are IN LOVE, and democracy has NEVER been stronger!”

Ben, still pink in the face, adjusted his tie. “Um. We were going to try and keep it low-key, at least at first.”

Leslie looked personally offended. “Excuse you. This office has suffered for eleven months and three days watching you two make heart-eyes over pie charts. We earned this.”

"You count it?"

Tom held out his hand. “Pay up, everybody. Ben cracked first.”

“No way” Donna said. “She said it first. I’m getting my mani-pedi on your dime, Haverford.”

April typed something into the betting spreadsheet. “This is the most emotionally invested I’ve been since I found that bird with one leg and named him President Screech.”

And Chris?

Chris walked in moments later, holding a tray of gluten-free muffins.

“What’s going on?” he asked brightly. “Is there a celebration?”

Everyone froze.

You and Ben looked at each other.

“Uh” you started.

“Just… high synergy” Ben added quickly.

Chris smiled, thrilled. “Amazing! I LITERALLY had a dream last night that the two of you became co-managers of a regional morale task force. The synergy was off the charts!”

The entire department burst out laughing.

Chris, still oblivious, grinned. “I love inside jokes!”

From that day on, the dynamic changed.

Ben brought you coffee in the mornings. You “accidentally” scheduled your lunch breaks at the same time. Leslie started planning double dates in a wildly overzealous Google Calendar labeled “Power Couples of Pawnee.”

And Chris?

He remained joyfully unaware for two more weeks, until he walked in on you and Ben making out in the supply closet next to a stack of Welcome to Pawnee pamphlets.

He gasped. “You two are… DATING?!”

You pulled away, flustered. “We were going to tell you!”

Chris blinked. Then his face split into the biggest smile you’d ever seen.

“I AM SO HAPPY I COULD LITERALLY DO A BACKFLIP.”

And he did. In the hallway. With perfect form.

Everyone clapped.

Leslie cried.

Ben turned to you, dazed. “Did that really just happen?”

You smiled. “It’s Pawnee. Of course it did.”

A few months back, I asked if it was okay to write using Clora and Seb. Finished the work - thought I'd lost it on my hard drive and a virus scan located it.

Not sure if it's sad or happy, but the basic premise of it is Clora getting frustrated/upset at Sebastian and Sebastian comforting her, Sebastian getting upset at a predicament Clora's in and Clora comforting him, and them both getting frustrated/upset and having to comfort each other.

If you'd rather I didn't post it, that's fine too, but just wanted to test the waters and double check that you'd be okay with it if I gifted it to you via AO3, or see if you wanted a sneak peak of it before posting it.

@sunshine-goblin AAA THANK YOU!!! im honoured its your fav fanfic AND ALSO THE LONGEST YOUVE READ BAHAHAA fr, when you say its as long as four books in lotr it rly makes me realize how insane i am😃👍 aw IM GLAD I COULD INSPIRE YOU TO DRAW MORE AND WRITE AS WELL😭 I was curious so i creeped you and everyone go look at their HL blog @sunshines-legacy your MC is so cute and so is your art🥹💖 as for tips on writing a longfic and brainstorming and motivation and stuff, my motivation was my brainrot and unhappiness with the canon story/ending LMAOO, and looking at the story of the game and playing around with what i was unhappy with/what i WISHED could have happened instead, was a lot easier than just coming up with plotlines from scratch. but something i highly recommend is just OUTLINING and making a timeline, one of my fav parts of writing was just putting on some cafe ambience in the background and doing stream of conscious type word documents where id just barf ideas and then worry about making it pretty later....like look at how many versions of the same chapter i have BAHAHA or like different renditions bc i couldnt decide if id wanna keep a scene/what order, so id make a timeline and keep smoothing things out until i was happy with it and whatnot

brainstorming is defs my fav part of the process and the most helpful part to me. just getting a blank document and writing stuff you want to happen without worrying about how it connects to the story, and then a lot of the times as i was doing that id just keep going and it would kinda tie itself together/id come up with a solution as i was writing / once the ideas kept flowing. so basically : TIMELINES AND OUTLINES I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND, but very low pressure and barebones ones. for example, this is what my outlines/brainstorming look like

its honestly just me talking to myself LMAO, and a lot of the time ill interject and be like "OH YEAH AND THEN THIS CAN HAPPEN" as the ideas come while im writing BAHAHA. its a super fun process and honestly nothing feels better than just getting hit with that flash of inspo, and since its all very low effort theres no pressure to actually write well and its just a chill fun time AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR OWN PROCESS / WRITING💖💖💖it can be difficult but HOPE U HAVE FUN TOO💖💖

Of course, there is another explanation for this possibility. Trickster simply was given a job offer as part of a guards at some point from Asgore. And now he gets paid twice. Asgore and Sans know each other, through Gaster since in this au Gaster and Asgore were friends that worked together, Gaster introduced the skelebros to Asgore long time ago

I in all honesty haven’t thought throughly about the Trickster’s royal guard role and its details yet cuz I’ve been working on his other parts of his lore, which took more priority as of now AHAHA

But as I was saying, Trickster’s existing connection with Asgore and how his silly reputation with the underground would have reached to Asgore’s ears eventually and and and UGHH MY BRAIN IS NOT WORKING SORRY Gaster could’ve told Asgore too actually AHAHHAAHA many possibilities happening here

but what I wanted to say is that, Asgore would know Trickster eventually and THAT IS WHY he could’ve asked Trickster to do little training session for Undyne since Asgore would’ve wanted her to learn and experience new things from someone different than himself, also it’s his close friend’s son like he’s sure he got some tricks up to his sleeve that could help undyne’s growth or WHATEVER I THINK THATS WHAT I THOUGHT AT THE TIME?? director’s commentary on clove & avendano pov oneshots? (i ate those UP)

omggg thank you for asking this (esp about clove and avendano… my beloved ocs hehe)

well! i know i say this allll the time, but when i was first writing Deep Dive i never intended on giving them actual personalities. i wrote the v first chapter when i was 17 (going on 18… grown ass woman btw) and back then my mom felt like my greatest fuckin opp, but thankfully i had a moment of clarity and realized it would be sooo boring if annie’s parents were flat and one dimensional so i started brainstorming a backstory for them that highlights the fact that they were just kids/young adults at one point in time too, and it really helped humanize them (for lack of a better word) for me

i know it’s not very apparent in the fic, but i’ve always meant for annie and clove to be parallels of each other (which is why i thought it was always so ironic whenever anyone in the story would mention that annie and her dad were so similar) and i think the one shot in her pov was where i really got to play around with that concept. she’s messy and emotional and hot headed and im so glad i spent thousands of words exploring that

for avendano, i just really wanted to get inside the head of someone so extremely insecure. i’ll admit that the immigrant plot point (for lack of a better word) was the weakest part despite being the strongest focus, but i’ve always been intrigued by how the american dream is absolute bullshit, and this fic was where i could really tease that concept apart. like idk for me personally my dad is definitely more wealthy and successful than his siblings who stayed in their country of origin, but things would obviously be so different if he was white/was merely just born here. his story was so much more difficult than cloves bc 1) he’s a man 2) explaining his rationale for the cheating. he’s pathetic and insecure but that’s why it’s so fun writing him

edit: also in the Deep Dive fic i feel like clove and avendano straight up just hate each other at that point but i loved how in both their povs u can see that the love they shared was mutual and so strong at first (and a lil crazy…)

She falls asleep and he kisses her slightly stinky feet. Neither of us have a foot fetish, swear, there's just something really hot about Sylus worshipping "dirty" parts of the body

Sort of related to that last point. Could you maybe work Sylus being fixated on reader's body odor into it 🥺 Based off of the summary, Sylus has to have missed reader a lot when she moved away, and part of missing someone is missing the way they smell. Sylus dragging reader into a boxing match because it's still his hobby in this AU and he takes the opportunity to sniff. She notices, he smugly and annoyingly denies it

Reader masturbating, not thinking about anyone in particular, just to take the edge off, and when Sylus hears her, he starts masturbating too. But jealously because he thinks she's thinking about someone in particular

Yo-Kai sona ´cause Why-Naant

So... I saw a couple of people In the community make Yo-Kai sonas and I wanted to make one as well! :D

So I brainstormed for what my Yo-Kais inpirit would do and how to approach the design and I noticed that there was a Yo-Kai that was already very similiar to what I wanted my Yo-Kai to be like, Terrorpotta. I usually represent myself as an little crown and Terrorpotta already looked like a crown and had an inspirit I found relatable. I eventually started to redesign Terrorpotta to resemble my lil crown sona more and this eventually resulted In the Yo-Kais final design. I originally wanted the sona just to be an odd looking terrorpotta, I thought It was an bit more lore accurate that If my character dies, It becomes an already existing Yo-Kai, like we have seen It happen In the anime with Daiz and Unsheltered for example, but at the end I still wanted an more unique Yo-Kai to show off, so I came up with an new evolution for Terrorpotta!

Whoopsala Is an A-Rank Restoration Attribute from the tough tribe.

It evolves from Terrorpotta after being fused with Enerfly.

People inpirited by Whoopsala tend to easily drop and break objects, often stressing the victim In the progress.

Medallium Entry: Unlike Terrorpotta, Whoopsala has an much less fragile golden shell, causing her anxiety and heartrate to return to an healthier level, she although still posses the habit to break other fragile items easily, how stressfull.

Attack: One-Two Punch -No Description-

Technique: Restore -No Description-

Soultimate: Whoops! Dang It! -Drops fragile Items on the enemies, the splitters will get stuck and drain their health.

Inspirit: That Cant Be It -Enemy Is so stressed It might turn on their allies-

I wanted to make It an more tanky Yo-Kai low risk Yo-Kai, quite different from Its counterpart Blownhistoppa.

The name Is a pun from the german word "upsala" which Is just another word for whoopsie.

Now I want to talk about why I choose Enerfly as an fusion "Item".

Enerflies inspirit Is slightly different In the various Yo-Kai Watch media, but the anime says that Enerfly can overall bring things to peak condition, so I thought It could cause Terrorpottas fragile shell to get to peak condition and become sturdier.

Im still pretty new to designing Fan-Kai, but hope U enjoy It anyways. ´:3

!!!! ok first off i just wanna say u made my day with this ask im so excited that other people r excited abt this and want to hear my explosions (also i definitely want to make individual profile posts for each tribute so this will be. sparknotes of what i have thought up so far :D) Tango - i have tango in district 3, along with mumbo. district 3 is the technology district, and with mumbos redstone contraptions and tango's decked out programming, it felt very obvious placements to me :] i dont think they were very close at all before the games. not in a bad way, just they didn't cross eachothers paths all that much (subject to change but in life series canon theyre never on the same team iirc). theyre cordial in the proceedings before the games but dont train together or plan to team up. tango, skizz, and bigb eventually ally together during the training days before the games! (aka heart foundation) Jimmy - jimmy and scar are actually from the same district, district 11! 11 is the agriculture district, and to place jimmy in this district i pulled from his ranchers and empires sheriff vibes if that makes sense. i also just know that 11 is one of the poorest districts and doesn't usually do well in the games, and we all know jimmy in these games. (i considered jimmy in 12 bc of the canary thing, but skizz and impulse r from there and i figured putting him somewhere else is fun too!) scar - as said above, scar is from district 11! i don't think he is expected to do super well in the games from the reaping, but during interviews its clear that he has the charisma to get some sponsors. i honestly haven't thought up all that much for scar yet but dw i will (he literally wins. how could i ignore him) fun fact! scar and jimmy were going to kind of team together, but during the first day of training, scott (career tribute) makes some joke to gem about how they wouldnt stand a chance if they teamed together bc of their district. jimmy let this get in his head and decided to split from scar, causing both of them to be loners at the start of the games. jimmy eventually finds martyn during the games and they ally bc of reasons (that i can get into if we want to), but scar stays relatively alone honestly most of these tributes and their district placements are pretty set in my mind, except for martyn, cleo, and bigb, who i still can't figure out where to put (if anyone has suggestions pls send them lmao). ive got some bits and plot points from the series already worked out into a hunger games universe, but a lot of it i dont! if theres any specific part of the series anyone wants to ask about, please do!! i work best when someone tells me what to brainstorm on lmao. anyways lol hope yall r liking this! i dont have any clue if it will gain any traction, but i've been thinking abt this au so much since the finale and i wanted to try and share it and talk about it with people :D pls send comments or asks abt any of it if you want to !!!

i have a notes discord server! and a channel in there specifically for game ideas. previously i had a big word document titled "game ideas", but its easier to access discord from my phone lol

usually i have an idea and i stick it in there first

and then ill noodle around with it, just brainstorm and slap spaghetti around. this is another reason why i like discord for this at the moment, its informal and easy, much less daunting than a word doc

i didnt end up using most of the bits here lol

and then ill move it into a word doc once its clear that ive got an actual project / game starting to form!

the one problem with this is sometimes ill keep an idea in there for much longer than i should and it becomes a mess of me replying to myself, terrible to follow. this is the current problem with moonlight whaling, sigh

The Empress — Where do your ideas come from? OR Do you seek out or avoid inspiration while working on an idea?

a lot of places!! tumblr being one of them, sometimes ill see a post where im like "huh that could be a game in some way" and ill stick it in my notes discord for later. but really anything, books, movies, songs, other games. im not the first to say this but u gotta read / watch / experience new things to make new things

ive learned a lot from any designer whos game ive played or read, to start. but i wanna shout out @thydungeongal on here, her posts abt game design and rollmaster / d&d are highly highly fascinating and helpful to me, as a guy who hasnt even played d&d let alone any old school stuff and just kinda jumped into the indie scene from the start.

The Chariot — What is the next project you’re planning to start OR What is the next project you’re excited to finish?

this has been my big question to myself recently, what game to really focus in on next. i have games that just need to be finished, but i think my next one* is gonna be this time travel game ive been thinking of

working title is Hooked, and the reason i think im going to start (and finish) it next is cause ive already got the main mechanic figured out, where when you fail a roll you can choose to create a hook, and in doing so succeed the roll

but that hook is a place where a future you has traveled back to that point in time and given you what you needed to succeed, which means at some point youre going to have to come back and close the loop, or else risk creating a paradox

too many paradoxes and the universe explodes so like. be careful :3!

it is going to be a lot of work, i want the general aesthetic to be the journal of a time traveler, with notes from all their future and past selves scrawled in the margins in different colors. and theres the question of if its a solo game or multiplayer, or both. solo-friendly is my current thought, but encouraged for more than one person. but we'll see how it actually plays.

but! i have a crochet project on the mind so i wanna talk abt other stuff im into also :3

im currently considering ADHD and how it could possibly relate to myself, so just keep that in mind when i say ive dipped my paws into a whoooole lot of different creative hobbies. sewing, knitting, pottery, bookbinding, needle felting, jewelry making, and yea, crochet, are all stuff ive been into at one point or another

but my favorites are crochet and cooking / baking. for most of my life i thought my career was gonna be in food service! ive been a baker, cake decorator, and diner cook before, and loved all three of those jobs.

and crochet is great mainly cause you can make stuffed animals / amigurimis >:33 i loooove little guys and being able to choose what soft yarn im gonna make em out of, though its been a minute since ive made one. but!! like i mentioned ive got a project on the mind, as im gonna try and make the "something strange and indescribable" from the Before the Flood backerkit campaign and im very excited abt it :3 stay tuned for posts abt my success or failure on this front

The Devil — What motifs or mechanics do you just keep coming back to? OR What is a game you’ve enjoyed playing in the last year?

NIGHTHAWKS by @titanrpg is really really good. it has a heart in it, one that beats at an all too-familiar rhythm. when i played it we told a story that was perhaps a touch too close to home as well, disparate sad people sitting several stools apart at a dive bar in a small town.

i have a tendency towards comedy when i play ttrpgs, but my favorite moments are all when ive been deeply serious and sad, and thats what i got from NIGHTHAWKS

The Tower — Talk about about a game you tried to make that crashed and burned.

center of the known universe was an anthology of games i wanted to make a while back, all inspired by the part of the nevadan desert i live in. i dont think its crashed and burned necessarily but i certainly never finished it and im not sure i ever will, though i still like the ideas for some of the games and may release them individually

The Star — Talk about a game you’re working on and what excites you about it.

a game ive been working on for a looong time that i dont think ive really talked abt on here is The Lady, The Tiger, and The Accused. its a descended from the queen game based on The Lady or The Tiger? short story, where (to put it very briefly) a king has created a new form of justice where the accused is put in an arena with two identical doors in front of them.

behind one door, a lady of an appropriate social standing for them to marry, behind the other a very hungry tiger. this leaves the verdict up to fate, for if the accused is innocent they will surely pick the door with the lady, and if they are guilty they will choose the door with the tiger.

but the accused in the story is also the lover of the lands princess, and when they look back at her for the last time she raises a hand and points towards one of the doors.

the question in the story is one of love. would the princess rather see her lover dead, or married to someone else?

what comes through the door, the lady or the tiger?

but! there are other characters in this story, with agency and lives of their own.

The Lady, The Tiger, and The Accused instead asks a question of trust. when The Accused looks back towards their princess, and she raises her hand, do they trust her? do they open the door that she points towards?

its a game for three players, with each person playing one of the titular characters. it uses the descended from the queen format to create the character of the princess throughout play, along with the characters of The Lady, The Tiger, and The Accused.

its a good game!! ive got a bit more work to do on it, mainly on the tiger role. not everyone is comfortable being an actual tiger and role playing scenes that involve communicating with humans or attending parties and such, it turns out.

but im really excited abt it overall :3 its good and fun and i think it uses the descended from the queen format really well and hopefully one day ill do a crowdfunding project for it and get enough money to hire a bunch of different artists to make princess illustrations for it >:333

The Sun — Talk about a game you’ve made that you’re proud of.

im proud of all of my games, in one way or another. but, with an obligatory Before the Flood mention (crowdfunding now!), im really and truly proud of my body is your body is our body is

it was my first kinda big game that i published, and there was a lot of stuff with the first edition i really wasnt super happy with. im really, really proud of myself for finally going back in this year and fixing it. its so much better now! in a lot of ways.

and i mean it was good to start with also, most of my problems were with the programming side of it. when i was making the second edition reading back through the game made me cry a bit lol. theres a lot of banger lines in there and a lot of feelings.

we actually got to see that mike feels the same when he got upset that will said the “wither away” thing. that so like their pre isolation cabin selfs - insults each other just to control the urge to start making out 😭 glad that will didn’t control it this time and i can bark cause of kissing shoulder scene.

poor will almost had a stroke cause of mikes edward cullenofication And his best friend only made it worst with her deductive skills. but i think max dropped this conversation too fast. i have a feeling that it will come out after some time. it must be so scary for will to open up like that especially, if i remember correctly, nobody really knows what actually happened between he and mike. also “i don't wanna keep secrets just to keep u”.

i loved el and her dedication to all the good stuff she can eat. i bet she’d murder that one poor little camper who would take the last pancake 💔

and i Really liked that little dad son bonding moment. van camping doesn’t sound that bad for me will!!! at least u don’t have to sleep outside 😭

hi alya! sorry it took me one million years to answer this ask but it was so thoughtful and thorough that i wanted to wait until i had the time to do it justice with the response 🫡🫡

first, i am sooooo so glad you liked chapter 7 because it was insanely fun for me to write! really enjoyed writing it and their shifting dynamic and i’m super glad that came through! you’re so right in saying that neither of them is stupid enough to Not notice how things are changing between them, and they both are definitely coming to terms with the realization that they do enjoy each other’s company in a way that is more than just physical. i think for meeee one of the most fun things abt this chapter was writing the different ways they approached that realization, especially from will’s pov. the feelings definitely are not new for either of them, which i think is pretty obvious by this point in the fic, but both of them are used to turbulence and are anticipating that and don’t really know what to do without it! super glad you picked up on mike’s hesitation as well — i think people tend to characterize our mike as “all in” or a lot more open about his feelings than will is, which is true to an extent, but he has his limitations just as much as will does and maybe even more at times.

anyways all that to say that i’m really glad that the chapter came through the way i was intending! the other parts of it were so fun to write as well — the hopper and will moment, el and max, so on and so forth. re max: it definitely is very hard for will to say the things he’s feeling to her, and battling with not wanting to keep such a big secret from his best friend vs not wanting to betray the newfound trust between him and mike is absolutely something he has been struggling with. very excited to see how that plays out hehe ( <- knows exactly how it will play out)

as for your last question, we have a couple initial songs for every chapter that have been in the playlist doc for a while, usually the “main” song for that chapter, but it’s pretty much up to whoever is writing to choose the rest of the songs and move them around/add and remove as desired! we try to keep it about 5-6 songs per chapter to keep the playlist from getting monstrous (bar some very Long and Dense chapters that are getting more) but what we do is we assemble the chapter playlist as we write and then let the others know in case there is a song that someone thinks doesn’t fit or has a better suggestion for. we’ve absolutely added songs that aren’t in the master playlist before, especially ones we stumble across and realize would be perfect for a chapter.

Scout often wondered about how people really felt about him. I mean, really felt. Sure, some of his teammates called him annoying, or treated him like a little brother- but he knew that was all in good faith. At least they'd tell him to screw off to his face if he got too annoying.

But it was harder to figure things out when it came to folks outside the team, and by "folks" I mean his partner, and by "his partner" I mean you.

Scout had been particularly energetic today, way more than usual. He had been chatty to everyone, including you. He was all over the field, hardly able to concentrate of the objective. He ran to every explosion, every shout, anything that he heard immediately grabbing his attention. It was frustrating for everyone on the team, even Scout was getting annoyed with his own inability to focus.

It was safe to say that they lost the match.

After the match everyone had glared at him whenever he tried to lighten the mood. Usually it worked, but today not so much. But he kept trying.

"Hey ya know- those guys were prolly cheatin' anyway. So really-" Scout was cut off.

"Son- will you just can it?" Engie snapped, "We lost. Everyone knows it's your fault. Everyone else has accepted it, you need to do the same before you get a black eye."

That shut him up real quick.

That was Scout. He tried all the time to be there for everyone else, to lighten the mood, to make everyone feel a bit better. Even if he was the butt of the joke. It was just who he was. But today... he just felt like he was too much. For anyone. Even you.

You hadn't seen Scout since he'd left the showers. Usually after he hit the showers, you both headed straight to his room to hang out, watch movies, whatever. But when you knocked on the door he wasn't there. You'd even double checked to make sure he wasn't just asleep, but he wasn't there. Which was odd for him.

You went searching, checking the kitchen, and the lounge area, The garage, even the Med-Bay, but he wasn't there. Nobody seemed to know where he went either, that or they were still too pissy to want to find him.

You were almost to Sniper's camper when you finally spotted him. You had turned around to check for critters when you saw the glint of something on the roof of the base. Dogtags. It didn't take much walking to see the small dash of bright red curled up on the roof.

Climbing up the roof was quick work if you knew where the secret ladder was (it was in Sniper's room, which he never used). It wasn't hard to sneak up behind Scout either. He was too lost in his thoughts (usually a bad thing when it came to Scout).

"Hey baby," You sat down next to him. He jumped at your sudden intrusion, he calmed fairly quickly though. Scout was still wrestling with his pent up energy, made obvious by the tapping of his leg and his other little fidgets.

"Hey sweetheart, ya scared me. What uh, what bring ya up here?" He asked.

"Oh, well I was looking for you." You explained, "You disappeared after the match today. I though we were gonna watch a movie tonight?"

"Ah, yeah. Sorry I um.. Just needed to clear my head. Didn't wanna keep botherin' anybody."

"Scout."

"What?"

" What's going on with you hm? You're not usually like this."

"It's- I just- It's nothin' really," He scratched the back of his neck, "I'm just being a lot today, and I know it. And I can't even help myself 'cause I don't realize it until it's too late. And then everyone's pissed off at me. And I already pissed everybody off by losin' the damn match, and I really didn't feel like pissin' you off too. 'Cause I knew you wouldn't tell me if I got too annoyin'- 'cause I know you. And I'm probably pissin- you off right now with alla this and I should just stop fuckin' talkin' but I can't and I-"

You wrapped your arms around him gently.

The two of you sat up there for a while, watching the stars. You let Scout talk about everything and nothing, just to get it out of his system. Because, yeah, he could be annoying, and he could be a lot, but that didn't make you love him any less.

Anthony thinks that darcy isnt all THAT bad but hes nothing special, just a people pleasing prep who is pretty nice

they would so hang out once they become friends though. go get sandwiches or burn darcy's dads' money at the fair just being silly and goofing off, darcy also LOVES hanging out with outgoing and social people

darcy has to physically and mentally prepare to speak to people, like he has to give himself an hour to turn on socializing mode so if anthony ever caught him when he was unprepared for the interaction he would just stare at him like a deer in the headlights trying his absolute best to figure out what to do. in response he gives his trusty "i dont know what to say and cant form any opinion on what youre telling me", aka "uh huh" "yeah that sucks" "really? wow" "thats insane" "mhm"

ummmm i have a lot more. Don't wanna say interesting because i did put a lot of thought into Darcy it just doesn't show when he interacts with other peoples ocs most of the time because he's just a stupid boy with no sense of self so he mimics whoever he is hanging out with but i am brainstorming ocs with more set in stone personalities is what I mean

And comparing me to Andypants? Sweet sassy molassy- that's an such top-tier compliment. Andy is such an incredible author and I absolutely adore their writing style and how they're able to weave so much emotion into each and every sentence. I think every MHA author wants to be like Andy when they grow up.

As for how I come up with ideas- hmm. I tend to daydream a lot and come up with lots of little questions/scenarios during my day. Sometimes I try and think about how different characters would react in situations and run that through my head like a play. And then I escalate it by asking "what is the funniest thing that could happen in this scenario?" and run with what I come up with.

So, for Cardinal Rule I had the passing thought that it would be funny if birds didn't like Hawks. From there, I started thinking about what *exactly* that would look like, and found that being able to understand the birds really opened things up for humorous scenarios. And thus, the avian telepathy Quirk reader came to be.

And Bottle Episode was originally going to start as a quick one-shot where Reader and Shouto got trapped in the love bottle, but were able to escape really quickly because they already had feelings for each other. But then I started thinking about *why* exactly a bottle like that would exist and things took a pretty somber turn as I realized that my original concept wasn't funny at all past surface level; it was actually incredibly horrifying (That's the one story that ended up WAAAAAAAY off the path I had been originally brainstorming for.)

I heard "you can do it, because you do it in the future just fine!" Lol. You're guides feel so loving and protective of you. I feel like even if you're not financially stable right now you definitely will be soon, anything you feel like you have no control over you will soon! You'll be gaining so much not financially but spiritually as well I feel like.

So I feel like you're just in a very icky situation, like my head hurts and I feel some violent emotions. The woman in the cards is all tied up and bound and I feel like you could feel that sometimes, and that's totally valid! I feel like your spirit guides want to remind you of how important it is to be kind to yourself and remind yourself that it's okay, I see a positive mindset is something that could always make us feel better, always try to make ourselves feel okay and valid and comfortable even in uncomfortable situations because it's very important to nurture our soul! I also feel like your guides want you to spend more time brainstorming ideas and solutions because if there's a will there's a way basically! You said you couldn't afford an apartment on your own, this is my advice personally but maybe there's a friend or a relative you're close with that you can talk to about getting a shared apartment together and splitting the rent with or maybe you could do AirB&B (if you feel comfortable) and rent out your apartment if you get an extra room.

With the Chariot I feel like it's another reminder that you're going to come out on top of any war! There's going to be movement! With the Eight of Pentacles it's literally talking about you working on your craft, whatever that means. I kept hearing a message about you getting employment soon! You're going to be getting a job or maybe even working on your own personal business if you're into that or have been thinking about it, something along the lines of that but you're going to be running into some abundance through an opportunity. I feel like some of your negative thoughts are also blocking you from a few opportunities, it could even be blocking your intuition or maybe making it harder for your Angels to send you downloads. They might get in contact with you soon, via dream or maybe download, maybe something big and significant or maybe something small and simple, either way you'll notice it so don't try so hard to make it happen, just let it!
