The best part of Sir Pentious' Arc
Is how UNBELIEVABLE it is out of universe.
Tumblr media
Like, Sir Pentious was originally made as a ONE-OFF VILLAIN FOR THE PILOT, he was literally only there for Angel, Cherri, and Alastor to fight. He was LITERALLY MADE TO LOSE. He's a joke of a character, from his over-the-top "evil" design- he's a VICTORIAN SNAKE for fuck's sake- to his goofy minions and his just... everything.
And yet, because Vivzie and the team took a liking to him...
He's went from that level of joke, to a minor antagonist of an episode, to a recurring Hotel member, to having his own romance arc with Cherri, and finally to BECOMING THE FIRST DEMON TO EVER ASCEND.
Meaning this- again- ONE-OFF VILLAIN...
Eventually became the living proof that Charlie's hopes are not a dream, but a reality.
Tumblr media
That is INCREDIBLE.

Absolutely nobody was prepared when Alpha reappeared in ‘Line of Finiteness’,
10 years after his last appearance, when he was supposedly destroyed by exposure to the matter of our universe.

[Toon x Mobster] Idea: Jack can switch between normal and muscle (feedback needed)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The idea for now is that he can switch between cartoon skinny to muscular by will or just whenever he's putting in actual effort using his strength.
I personally like it but had some critiques, still experimenting with him since I've honestly never bothered developing Jack's character design.
Also, I thought about it plenty of times before, but it sucks that Jack kind of looks like a young teenage boy a lot of the times. The wrinkles fixed it a bit at least.

Thinking about how Yor and Loid both don't really have hobbies, so post reveal they both start trying out random shit together
Loid doesnt like knitting or crocheting, something about it doesn click in his brain. While he is trying to figure out how he accidentally made a shitty cable in his basic scarf, Yor is almost done making the family matching sweaters
They've gone to check our several of the baseball batting locations but had to stop. Yor kept accidentally breaking the bats, the baseballs, and sending the balls through the fencing. They have been to taken to court for damages several times. Loid wants to go back because he thinks it's really hot that Yor can just do that come on hun we'll wear disguises they won't know
DND has been successful, they just have to remind themselves to keep it casual, Loid has to remind himself to not constantly worry about the rules and Yor gets way into the combat and gets a little frustrated when it feels like her character isn't as strong as she is. She could have easily dodged that arrow what do you mean she failed her roll
They both also reeeeally get into birdwatching and photography. It's like stalking prey, weirdly satisfies the spy/assassin parts of their brains, but instead of ending with a dead body or intel, they get bird pictures. Occasionally, they plan out weekend camping trips so they can go into the woods, set up bait, disguise themselves so they can sit closer to it as still as they possibly can, and snap pictures of every creature that shows up, giggling afterwards and gushing about how cool that cardinal they saw was. Anya hates coming along, it's been three hours and the same kind of boring birds keep showing up, why on earth are her parents covering themselves in mud and twigs and just staring at this pile of seeds, what on earth is exciting about this how can they be so laaaaame

i love that one of Magnus' powers is seemingly just "can magically detect the correct pronouns" because a.) this implies one of his healing powers is Proper Bedside Manner and b.) all i can imagine is him having like one billion instances of unconsciously using not very apparently pronoun sets for people without asking their pronouns and while he doesn't notice, Alex is just beside him making an eyes emoji face or pogging.

A while ago there was going around an art challenge where you draw your favourite Fire Emblem character of each letter of the alphabet. Figured I'd give it a shot, let's see if I can finish this. Here's ABC.
#fire emblem#fire emblem fates#fire emblem: three houses#Fire Emblem Awakening#FE Arthur#Alois Rangeld#FE Brady#Claude von Riegan#FE Charlotte#Alois is overall a super lovable character#but on top of that I also really appreciate the fact that he is a platonic S support option#9 times out of 10 video game romances involving the player character don't really do anything for me#but usually I still end up romancing someone anyway because mid content is better than than no content#so thank you IS for giving me the bromance option I always wanted#when I first saw Arthur I expected him to be one of those joke characters that get really obnoxious really quick.#Instead he turned out to be such a genuinely good dude and a cinnamon roll that he was impossible not to like#what really pushed him to the fave territory though#was the way every once in a while you could see cracks in his cheery exterior#revealing the unexpected melancholia underneath#being the unluckiest person on earth is getting to him despite his best efforts to not let it#or at least that was what i saw in him. you know how it is with blorbos#you never know how much of what you see is really there and how much you just made up. it's all part of the fun#On my first playthough I paired him with azura because their supports were cute#what I didn't see coming was the way azura disappears without a trace in the ending#and none of the in-game characters ever find out what happened to her#and so I couldn't help wondering#would arthur blame his own bad luck for azura's disappearance?#Would he spend the rest of his life terrified of something similar happening to percy and shigure too?#Would he become overprotective or would he isolate himself in an attempt to protect his loved ones from his bad luck?

“janus is so out of character, he’s not supposed to act like that!”
but it’s totally normal and in character for the literal personification of logic to dramatically break into a musical theatre song and serenade a jar of fruit preserve?

im like. so im trying to figure out just what Bilbo's internal conflict is like, and after reading the book and watching the movies, I've determined that it's a lot Took vs Baggins bullshit. Now what's confusing is that????????
When he's feeling Tookish, he is wide eyed and curious, asks a lot of questions, and works well under pressure; this is where we see his silver tongue. he is naive but he can bullshit his way around anything. hes far more accepting like this, open to new concepts and ideas and other things. like this, he is probably at his wisest.
But when he's feeling Bagginsish?????? hes?????? hes so fucking sassy??????? he's so concerned with propriety and manners that he like?????? just thinks everyone is stupid?????? and thinks everyone is saying things that are completely outrageous????? hes incredibly stubborn. like this, he is at his strongest. and this is also where we see him be an absolute bitch- a passive aggressive one, but a bitch all the same.
idk. im not sure if this is correct or not??? but this is how i differentiate them. I feel like the Tooks were a very wise family, very happy and free, good mediators. while the Bagginses were stubborn little fuckers who were incredibly strong willed and pessimistic beyond belief.
it literally said in the book that you would always know what a Baggins would say at any moment, which implies that a Baggins trait is being stubborn about beliefs and values and such. mind you, they were good values- but they were particularly vicious when it came to opinions.
idk i feel like it is this combination of traits that got him through the quest, and also helped him give up the ring. gotta be stubborn to deal with dwarves. gotta be open minded to get over the culture shock that comes with adventuring with dwarves. gotta be open minded and strong willed to give up the lure of the one ring.
i mean he was an oddity for this stuff, but overall i think its what saved him in the end.

@aroace-get-out-of-my-face @thefallenangel2008 @ravmycupine
just wanted to add some thoughts to the memory vial/brain dead au (or whatever we're calling it)
because of course ford's guilt about using the memory gun on stan is so much worse than it is in canon, not just for the obvious reasons but also because like
this wasn't the plan
Stan agreed to have his memories erased—of course he did, the whole thing was his idea. But he didn't know he was going to die. Granted, I feel like Stan probably still would've been willing to make that sacrifice if he had known that. But I don't think Ford would've.
Ford just thought he was turning his brother into an amnesiac, and even then he almost couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger. And of course he knew it was going to hurt, having Stan look at him like he's a stranger, but at least that's the outcome he was preparing himself for.
He was not prepared to see Stan's body topple over on its side, his unblinking eyes staring blankly ahead. Ford rushes to his brother's aid, grabbing him by the shoulders, trying to rouse him, calling his name (except, he wouldn't know his own name anymore, would he?). Stan's not moving. He's not breathing. Oh God, he's not breathing. Ford glances at the memory gun on the ground next to them, and horror washes over him as he realizes what he's done. The gun erased more than just memories, it erased everything. Stan's brain was a floppy drive and Ford was the magnet, wiping it clean and leaving it broken beyond repair.
No, no, this wasn't the plan. Time to call off the con. This wasn't supposed to happen. Stop, cut, abort mission, abort mission!
But it's too late. What's done is done, and he can't take it back.
Oh God, I killed him.
Sobbing now, Ford mutters choked-out apologies, first to Stan's body as he holds him tight—and again at his grave after he's buried. And the apologies start up anew every time he visits.
As the years go on, Ford is haunted by all the what-ifs that might've saved his brother's life. What if he had thought to type "Stanley Pines memories" into the memory gun instead of just "Stanley Pines", would it have kept his essential brain functions intact? Hell, what if he typed in "Bill Cipher"? Would that have been enough to kill the bastard and still let Stanley keep most of his memories and, more importantly, his life?
Ford doesn't know the answer to that question. And he'll never know. Because as much as he longs for it, he'll never have that chance to go back and do it differently.
