And the aliens could have fixed that but then Runt goes "no, she's perfect" AND SO SHE STAYS LOBOTOMIZED. FOR BEING MEAN TO THE PROTAGONIST. THAT WAS SO FUCKED UP"

At the end of the movie one of the aliens says that there has been “an error in reconstitution” which caused her brain waves to be scrambled, completely changing her personality. The aliens do offer to turn her back, but Runt likes her better this way and she just stays like that forever I guess.

She was a bully, but I think being completely brainwashed is a slightly over the top punishment (especially since the rest of the town, including the adults, were also pretty horrible to Chicken Little and they got of scot-free)"

Why it's over the top: aside from the obvious, the rest of the town gets off scot-free for some reason, it's ONLY the tomboy bully who gets rearranged like this."

"He cheated on a test and as a result his entire family, all his friends, and the one teacher who genuinely cared about him died in a fast food explosion. He was adopted by his greatest enemy, who he convinced to separate the ghost and human halves of himself to try and lessen the pain, which in retrospect feels a lot like a form of assisted suicide for people who are already dead.

His ghost half killed the human half, fused with his enemy's ghost half, and used their combined power to destroy the entire world. His current fate is indefinite imprisonment in a container the size of a soup thermos. Because he cheated on a test."

"Crime: Cheated on an ungraded test

Punishment: LITERALLY ALL OF HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE KILLED (during a parent teacher meeting at a fast food restaurant?), he's forcibly adopted by his "rival" (aka the adult man who has repeatedly tortured this 14 year old because he wants to kill Danny's dad and marry his mom) only to have his literal humanity ripped out of him- his ghost fuses with his enemy's ghost half, turns evil, and then VIOLENTLY KILLS HUMAN DANNY (and then destroys the entire world)

Sounds excessive? Yeah! Sure, it could just be tragic coincidences so far, but stick with me. We're going to reset the timeline, we can make this better, right???:

TIMELINE 2:

Crime: THOUGHT ABOUT cheating on an UNGRADED test

Punishment: The Master of Time sends ghosts from the future to ASSASSINATE HIM, then is sent to EXECUTE DANNY HIMSELF (BECAUSE CHEATING ON THE TEST IS THE DIRECT CAUSE OF THE END OF THE WORLD APPARENTLY), but then he THROWS DANNY TEN YEARS INTO THE FUTURE OF THE PREVIOUS TIMELINE TO BE FACED WITH HIS ABSOLUTE WORST FEARS MADE REAL: the entire world was ended by HIM, everyone he's ever loved is DEAD, he was told of everything that happened in this timeline including the forcible adoption and his own death at his own ghost's hands, evil future ghost him TORTURES HIM AND TAKES AWAY HIS ONLY MEANS OF GOING HOME, THEN REPLACES HIM AND TRIES TO MURDER HIS FAMILY to ensure the bad future! Meanwhile Danny is being pummeled by the future versions of his rogues gallery because they think he's the evil version that destroyed their afterlives. Anyway he makes it back eventually (after his rival RIPS THE THING TRAPPING HIM OUT OF HIS CHEST WITH A DEVICE THAT COULD KILL HIM) and his family been captured by this impostor wearing his face, and after fighting for his life he finds out he was too late and HAS TO WATCH EVERYONE HE'S EVER LOVED EXPLODE RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. Of course then the Master of Time shows up, says it was all a lesson, then resets the timeline to before the test again, leaving Danny with all the memories of what happened to traumatize him into confessing he willingly "stole" the test answers (which he didn't even do, they ended up in his possession due to an accident that only happened BECAUSE HE WAS DEFENDING HIMSELF FROM ONE OF THE FUTURE GHOSTS SENT TO KILL HIM) because he was fully intending to cheat on the test (again, false- his friends accuse and berate him for planning to cheat before he even considered it, which he later only thought about seemingly because he was already being treated as a criminal and he had no time to study since he was busy DEFENDING HIMSELF FROM GHOSTS SENT TO KILL HIM SUPPOSEDLY TO PREVENT THIS SITUATION), because of course that's a proportionate response

Why it's over the top: In what world is physical and psychological torture, kidnapping, repeated attempted murder, permanently traumatizing a child, making them absolutely terrified of themself and setting them up to be their own worst fear, and MORE a reasonable response to ANYTHING, much less a 14 year old kid (who just wants to keep people safe) accidentally acquiring the answer key to an ungraded test?!"

Funniest shit about it being confirmed Yuno didn't murder is the fact that it is so easy to solve certain sins now.

Oh, you thought you could judge Futa his crime is literally taking a picture because of laws around that in Japan. Making the sin he's in here for taking a walk and taking a picture of something. A thing he's highlighted doing twice in Bring It On. He was like I didn't spread it and Milgram went lmao we don't care jail for you. Then the audience got him jumped and permanently disabled because they voted the lady who inserts herself into other people's plights just to feel strong innocent. The character the most and least like him. His logical extreme.

Kazui whelp as we see he wasn't even at the balcony in his undercover shot. So what happened there- Is probably they had an argument he left as he was coming back she did that. He even was like, only I would consider myself a murderer when we got here. Explaining the word guy downstairs because it's just fucking where he actually was. If he is in this bitch for having an argument and telling the truth. What does that say about the audience due to what they tried to do to him? Which was pay people to literally vote him guilty just because they wanted to see him bound up? Just because it would be fun. Oh, or the choosing to scrutinize and criminalize his romantic and sexual inclinations? As if that's anyone's business but his own and those he's comfortable telling.

Shidou well his undercover shot is his hands looking shaky after a surgery. The photo on his prisoner card is an operating room. His undercover Es victim scene is him punching Es in the stomach which is more than like a more violent depiction of an operation. He said he had many victims but it really simply could be him fucking having guilt over losing patients during medically necessary possibly life saving procedures. Yet not wanting to stop being a doctor despite that because if there are people who need help he wants to help them. Now he's dead because he was put in a prison with actual murderers and wrongfully assumed that they were all like himself people who did something that led to a death. Made that assumption with the wrong one and found out. I mean, he wanted to die. So, he got what he wanted on that one but wild if he didn't kill anyone.

Fucking Mahiru was just telling the truth and it was a super normal relationship but this guy committed suicide too for reasons she exacerbated. Yet her undercover es victim shot is her choking Es because she was a smoothering presence that ultimately exacerbated things. Or even more outlandish her hobby was traveling and exciting things. The undercover prisoner card photo for her is a picture of a fucking cave and we see them both traveling in I Love You. Very well could be they could have just been in a caving accident, and he died that way. Then Milgram went if you weren't pushing him to travel, he'd still be alive, and now she too is dead. Which wild way to internalize that but alright have at it.

With Kotoko, well, we know she killed someone there are in canon documents saying that she did that. There was a court case about it. I mean, at that point, it's if one wants to believe how she framed it or not. If it was just oh no a crime in progress accidentally beats up criminal too hard which okay fine whatever. Then goes onto make a habit of this with the other guy in the ally because it just felt that good. Why the fuck did the girl retract her testimony and why was she highlighted at all as connected to this sin.

Haruka, Mu, Amane, and Mikoto all did that shit though. They like did that we see them do that in their music videos in instances that are clearly real life scenes. Everyone one else though that shit is mostly in their fucking heads. With very little allusions to their real lives. They are in here for feeling bad about mundane shit. Because Milgram went wow that sucks you want to see how society feels about that real quick maybe get some closure. Then these guys in the best case scenario said,

"Sure, I would like to do that. I would like to seek out some sort of punishment or confirmation that what happened wasn't that bad or my fault."

Or, in the worst-case scenario, they just felt so guilty about the thing that Milgram just abducted them for it. Both of which are incredibly funny scenarios and definitely something Jackalope of all people would do.

Then when things got real due to Kotoko they were all like,

"Hey, this isn't what I signed up for. You should probably stop this immediately."

Which fucking wild. Like Shidou bluntly went to Es, you should stop this in his trial two voice drama and was surprised when they couldn't. Kazui brought it up as well. It's so stupid at first, then I think of the implications and-

LMAO that's evil and fucked up you threw some of these normal people in there with the human equivalent of Cassowaries and went well if no one sets off the cassowaries they should be fine. Just don't fucking set it off losers it's up to you to be a good enough judge of character to discern who is a threat or not then act accordingly. Aww, you set off one of them round one boo-hoo poor fucking you cassowary attack be upon you all.

Some of these people are doing Milgram, the others have been put in the fucking torment nexus for doing something that can be grossly misinterpreted as murder just because a person died and they are their own worst advocates because of how guilty they feel about it. Meanwhile the people who seem to have straight up murdered people are here discussing how what Milgram is doing is illegal actually, they need to get back home to not lose their job, crying for seven whole minutes about wanting to see their families, going well I probably shouldn't be around people on account of the fact I don't trust myself like that ya know due to the murder I definitely committed.

Just to be told, actually, what you did was fine- In fact, you should do it again. I'll give you the weapon too if you need me to. While they make the other people who actually did nothing look worse comparatively because like no one in their right mind would go yes I think this person who was just living their life, doing normal every day things, that resulted in complications beyond them should be locked up in the same prison as individuals who killed people except fucking Kotoko who said exactly that in Deep Cover and Milgram said her sentiments fit their own well and she from the onset said she liked Milgram.

Honestly, love that for some of these guys. That's fucked up and wrong and sure if I knew that from the start I may have done some things differently. But like all I can do now is go got damn that's a way to confirm something a lot of fans wanted and speculated about just to have them go,

"Wait, oh no, that's really bad actually."

And prove Yuno's and my own point of hey it's actually really bad to judge people outside of the law for just how they live their lives. That's really bad if they are in here for something that is not murder I don't want to think about that. I hope they killed so many people because we know some of these people did, in fact, kill and could have done it again. Like what if we voted Mu innocent last trial and Yuno died as the fucking result of that choice due to her ignoring her. Then fucking what?

A REAL PUNCH IN THE GUT - 'CAUSE SAYING: "A MIDDLE FINGER" SOUND BAD.

Allow me a little rambling in regard to - mostly - "The Reality War".

♦♦♦♦ Spoilers under the cut ♦♦♦♦

Well… Well, well, well…

I am not going to spend any words on Belinda and her supposed (although in my country it would be more correct to call it literally "supposta"- AKA "suppository") "happy ending" - simply because I feel that others have covered this topic far better than I could.

No, instead, I want to dwell on the absolute BESTIALITY of which the Doctor was the victim in the last episode of the season (and hopefully also the last of RTD, because - honestly - that guy MUST GO. He has clearly “lost his touch,” if he ever had one).

Let's take a step back and talk about something that has been repeatedly said/implied throughout the ENTIRE series: the Doctor has been a father - and more than that, he has been a father who has lost his children.

This has been said over and over again (especially when RTD was in charge), and always in such a way that even the most inattentive viewer can realize how this loss causes the Doctor to PHYSICALLY suffer. His is a wound that NEVER really goes away, going through regenerations (even the most cheerful/disinterested ones) and “popping back up” in certain attitudes or in particular situations.

Having clarified this, we come to these last two seasons…

I think I'm not talking nonsense, when I say that I have always seen Fifteenth as the one in which this wound is more visible/recognizable. For both last seasons (this Doctor DEFINITELY deserved better, but that's another story…) I almost physically perceived his desire to have his family again (especially his niece Susan), and when Poppy was re-introduced - as his ACTUAL daughter no less! - I could (again) PHYSICALLY perceive his relief, his joy, his desire for a shared future with her… A bit like what - many years ago, always during an "RTD Era" - had happened with Jenny (yes, even if apparently only fans remember, the Doctor STILL have a daughter who knows where).

Because, yes: RTD has shown us this game before; it has ALREADY shown us the Doctor having a daughter, only to have her brutally ripped away from him in the space of an episode.

So why do I say/feel that this second time is worse? Simple (at least from my point of view):

The Doctor doesn't immediatly accept Jenny as his daughter. He thinks of her as someone who was created from his genetic code and that's it (Cit. "You're an echo, that's all. A Time Lord is so much more. A sum of knowledge, a code, shared history, shared suffering"). In fact, for a good part of that episode, he adamantly refuses to bond with Jenny.

WHILE INSTEAD

The Doctor loves Poppy, you can tell from the first moment we see them together in "Wish World" that's true. And it only gets stronger as the episode goes on - until it "explodes" in "The Reality War", where the Doctor starts acting like the most attentive, concerned and loving of fathers (he does everything to protect her, he is genuinely torn between letting the world stay as it is so as not to risk losing her and having to do the right thing for the Earth and its inhabitants, he instantly decides to modify the entire TARDIS to make it "child-friendly"… damn, HE DECIDES TO COMMIT SUICIDE in the hope of getting her back!)

Jenny survives (thanks, Moffat!). The Doctor has no way of knowing, true, but that doesn't change the fact that TECHNICALLY Jenny is still out there in the universe, she's still the Doctor's daughter, and she can still pop up again (even though we all know by now that she never will; that, like Rogue and Susan, she will always be a: "Could, could, but won't!").

WHILE INSTEAD

Poppy too survives, but for some absurd reason she remain EXCLUSIVELY Belinda's daughter. In this way the Doctor (who just committed suicide, let's remember, to get his daughter back) sees her torn away from him in the worst possible way: she's there, she's alive, but she's not his.

RTD preferred to give a daughter to a character - Belinda - who has never shown the slightest desire to have one (just as not to have one, it's good to make that clear), rather than to a character - the Doctor - who has wanted her FOR CENTURIES, sadistically playing with both of his hearts for the pure pleasure of laughing at the indignant reactions of the fans.

And this is absolutely the most disgusting thing a showrunner can do to one of his characters.

HELLSGATE CIRCUS LOREDUMP

SECTION 1: LUCIEN “LUCKY”

ok so theres this guy named Lucien who was born in 1911 in England. he always dreamed of being a star on stage (an actor), but gave up in his early 20's due to both poverty and quickly worsening mental illness. he got more and more ill over time to the point he never felt joy and seeked out feeling by drinking. And since it would have a temporary effect on him, he was hooked. he formed and addiction that got really, really bad. All the while he was still severely mentally ill. It got to the point he wanted to commit suicide. He tried multiple times, and always failed. During his life, it's possible that he heavily harmed or even killed a few. In his mid-40's (in 1955, at 44 years old), he decided to try to kill himself again by driving while very drunk. That time, it actually worked. once he went to hell (for gluttony (drinking so much) and wrath (harming others)), he was at rock bottom. This made him desperate. he found an overlord named Cielle and after about a year of talking, they struck a deal. The deal was that he'd get a LOT of money if he gave Cielle a certain amount of demonic blood monthly (any amount of demonic blood more than normal grants a drug-like effect for demons. This means that since there's already demon blood in them, if a demon consumes a small amount of blood, they get drunk. This was to promote a literal sense of bloodlust and addiction, and it made demons more violent.). and what was a way to attract demons that fulfilled Lucien's original dreams of being on stage? circuses! Cielle agreed to fund a circus for Lucien to run. so, Hellsgate Circus was then founded. Lucien was the ringmaster, and he now went under the stage name "Lucky" (which is what everyone commonly refers to him as). he hired a lot of demonic performers (he lured them in under the promise of free food and housing, not telling them about what the circus actually is) and forced them to murder demons for him so he could harves the blood and give it to Cielle, solidifying the deal. So, that's what Hellsgate Circus was. A world of murder and bloodlust. Lucky was forced to stay. If he left, he'd stop providing blood, breaking the deal. And since the deal was soul-binding, Lucky would lose his soul to Cielle (basically making him a slave). Lucky didn't want to give up. but being a leader of something so cruel and being blamed for every single life lost affected him greatly. He went completely mad, taking a lot of murder into his own hands, killing a lot of his performers just to replace them with new ones and repeat the cycle. He still relied on alcohol and money to make him happy. and that still continues to this day.

SECTION 2: VIKTOR/VICTOR

Victor was born in 1884 in Germany and grew up to be a poet. He moved to America (specifically new york) in the early 1900’s for unspecified reasons and there he met a woman named Gladys. The two fell in love (not really love. Victor, over time, became a bit afraid to leave Gladys) and got married in the mid-1910’s. See, Victor struggles with mental health issues, and additionally wasn’t a good person. He was rude and selfish back then. Gladys, on the other hand, was posessive, controlling, and kind of manic when it came to Victor. Victor desperately wanted space but was genuinely afraid Gladys would harm him, so he just went to the nearby speakeasy whenever Gladys was busy or asleep. One night in late 1922, Victor had met a person at the speakeasy who pressured him into drinking a lot and eventually raped him. Once Victor was finally able to return home, he came back a disheveled mess and immediately went to bed. Gladys saw how much of a mess he was, along with some hickeys on his neck, and immediately assumed Victor was cheating. Since she’s a fucking nut, she stabbed Victor four times in the chest, obivously killing him. After Victor died, he went to Hell for not being that good of a person during his human life. From everything that had happened, Victor fell into a deep depression that lasted decades. He neglected his hygeine and really never got out of bed unless it was genuinely necessary. But one day in the mid-to-late 1960’s, he found out about Hellsgate Circus and with how desperate he was for change by then, he applied to be a magician and was accepted. Upon learning that he’d been trapped, Victor had a mental breakdown, but was assisted by another demon in there named Talon. He, despite the help, didn’t like Talon and found him ”insufferable.” However, the two connected more and more over time and eventually got together. As of now, Victor’s learned to be a better person and is better mentally.

SECTION 3: TALON

Talon was born in 1852 in the Western United States and was raised by his father mostly. However, his father fell ill (tuberculosis) and Talon learned how to care for himself at a young age. After his father passed away, he had to raise himself. He made his way by stealing what he needed and killing anyone who got in his way. However, by the time he was in his mid-30’s, he became heavily mentally ill due to the guilt of murdering people and being so isolated for such a long time (about 2 decades by then). Eventually, he committed suicide by a bullet to the head. Fun fact, all people who die will still have effects of their injury in the afterlife. Since Victor was stabbed in the chest, he has breathing and heart issues. And since Talon had shot himself in the head, he had gotten severe brain damage and lost most of his memory. This left him very confused after waking up from the coma from the injury he was knocked into upon entering Hell. He had no idea who he was, but he knew deep down that he wasn’t a good person in the past. He wanted to redeem himself. He did various efforts to help in every way he could, and upon finding Hellsgate Circus, he immediately applied to be the medic for the performers. He was accepted. And despite the grim reality of the circus, since Talon was still helping out, he didn’t seem to mind. He met Victor and helped him out, and Victor seemed to hate him. But Talon didn’t give up, still bringing him food and helping him clean. The two eventually got to know each other and fell in love. Now they’re together.

SECTION 4: ENZO

So a long while back, Lucky had hired a performer he kept for a couple years before killing him off for unspecified reasons. He wanted to use his soul essence (basically his soul condensed into a liquid) for one of his projects (he has created performers before out of spare stuff lying around and could use the soul to bring a project to life). He carried around the essence in a small vial but one day lost it accidentally. Then a group of middle schoolers found it. Not knowing what it was but being curious, the kids fed the essence to a venus flytrap in their science classroom a couple weeks later. Once all the flytraps were gotten rid of at the end of the school year, the flytrap with the essence, which was by then lying in an alleyway after being thrown away, began growing into a humanoid being with arms and legs. This was Enzo.

Enzo had the soul of the performer that died. That performer originally had a passion to perform at a circus, so Enzo also felt strangely drawn to the circus. Once he was old enough, after a while of also training himself to be the perfect performer, he got into hellsgate circus and was a jester and trapeze artist. He loved his job until he figured out that he had to kill people for Lucky. This almost entirely ruined it for him, but then he found himself a passion. To make those in the audience smile one last time. So he did that. One day, though, he let a small child escape the circus’ murderings. Lucky found out soon after, and due to that “ruining it” and “making him lose more and more demonic blood he can’t spare a drop of,” Lucky tried to kill Enzo by sticking four blades into his skull. However, Enzo is for some reason fucking immortal and survived. But upon the trauma of someone trying to murder him AND finding out he’s immortal, he had a mental breakdown. He has constant flashbacks and is usually more anxious than anything. He used to be lighthearted and fun, but now he is extremely anxious and loud and sort of obnoxious.

Texx is another character, but her lore is unfinished. Check back soon!

Out of all the Sano siblings, mikey and izana are the only ones who actually have a sibling rivalry. Even if it is unhealthy. You would think emma and mikey have a rivalry over draken but their sibling relationship isn't like that. All the Sano siblings didn't have parental affection much in their lives. Shinichiro was like mikeys dad so there wasn't competition between them. Emma mainly got her parental affection from mikey (he literally stopped the loneliness caused by emmas neglectful mom) and mikey also got parental affection from emma, because she took care of him to return mikey taking care of her. To me, Emma and Mikey are like eachothers mom's in that sense. They looked out for eachother in a unique way, similar to yuzuha and hakkai. Both sets were missing that family connection from others while the middle child was the one to always look out for the youngest. Also let's be real, i do think shinichiro was sort of an absent father figure to emma... in his flashback in the final arc he did NAWHT gaf about her other than like 3 panels. It was all mikey. MIKEY was that person for emma.

With izana, shinichiro was that adult figure he sought a bond with, and when that didn't turn out so good, izana blamed it all on mikey (I've heard this before...) so you can actually see their first sibling fight happen before izana is introduced when izana sent the black dragons to harass mikeys new little bf kazutora. And then mikey responds KNOWING izana is the reason the black dragons are like that, and decides to destroy it. So really the whole story surrounds the sibling rivalry between mikey and izana.

Again, you would also think izana would be jealous of emma because she lived with shinichiro too, but it wasn't like that. He really did love emma, even if he did set up her hit... he just wanted to fuck up mikey the same way he felt wronged. Izana wanted to BE where mikey was, living with emma and shinichiro as a family. He couldn't accept mikeys existence in that family he imagined, because to izana, mikey threatened izanas existence in that family. He felt like mikey took away affection that he rightfully deserved. That core of their relationship, what caused their rivalry, is a huge cornerstone of TR.

And when I say sibling rivalry, it really is one sided. Because to mikey, izana was always and will always be his brother. If izana lived with the sanos, he would mainly receive affection from MIKEY... Mikey wouldn't take any affection away, because while shinichiro didn't have much for izana in the first place, and Emma would probably have too much guilt for not reaching out to izana herself to overcome, mikey would accept him fully. Of course we see mikey have his tug of war with izana, but only when izana tugs first. Izana wouldn't threaten mikeys existence in the family. To mikey, mikeys OWN existence threatens HIMSELF. I'm sure in this scenario where izana lives with the sanos, mikey might commit suicide because he couldn't bear himself to sabotage such a beloved family due to his impulses. Izana and mikwy are both similar, they like to self sabotage, even though I think izana does it sometimes more impulsively than mikey, where mikey intentionally ruins his own life. Funny since mikey is the one with the "impulse"... no wait thats mistuya...

Now that I mention it mana and Luna probably do have sibling rivalry when it comes to mitsuyas affection because he is the mom in their situation.

Crazy revelation I just had about Soichiro's death. This occurred to me while writing a Beyond Birthday fic, and specifically having to keep in mind that death does not surprise him. Sure, he doesn't know how it'll happen, but he always knows when.

It's glossed over if not outright cut from the anime, but it's addressed in a blink-and-ya-miss-it way in the manga, that Soichiro was planning to commit suicide after the raid to Mello's base (for those who were unaware of that fact, it's because he believes his involvement in the case is putting his family in danger, as evidenced by Sayu being kidnapped). The reason he doesn't is obviously because he dies before then, because he cut his time in half after making the eye deal with Ryuk, and instead dies via gunshot wounds and the explosion. Soichiro's life was not taken by a death note, his lifespan was not completely cut short "before his time". My point is, his timer ran out.

MISA. HAS. THE. EYES.

Whether or not she would have figured out the exact formula for how long each tick is, or if she would have calculated the exact date and time, she would have at least seen that Soichiro didn't have much time left compared to everyone else. And she ABSOLUTELY would have told Light. A shinigami would never tell a human how much time they have left, or their loved ones, but there's no rule saying a human with the eyes can't. Even if she never calculates the exact time, she'd notice how much it's ticking down per day and could gauge about how much longer he'd have left. If you think she wouldn't, I'd like to point out that this is her future father-in-law. She would have made the effort. Even if for no other reason than to tell her long-term lover and boyfriend (whom she has lived with for nearly five years now, is her literal partner-in-crime, mastermind behind the schemes, and friggin Lord Kira himself), that his father is going to die in roughly X amount of time. Misa lost both her parents. She knows that pain. She would absolutely want to spare Light from it. She can't save him from it completely, she can't prevent Soichiro's death, but she can brace him for it.

All that now to say, it makes me wonder. Did Light know he was more-or-less sending his father to his death on that mission to raid Mello's base and get the death note back? What we see in both the anime and manga, it seems to suggest that he didn't know and it took him completely by surprise. But logically... he would have at least had an idea that it would be soon.

Now with that lens, while in the hospital and his dad is literally dying, it makes his internal dialogue about "how would a normal person react to this" make a lot more sense than that he has to pretend to care that his dad is dying. It's much less a matter of, "Light is a psychopath and doesn't care about anything other than his goals". It's now more like "he knew his dad's death was coming and has already come to terms with it". That's why it's not fazing him. I will concede that he didn't know that this would be how, or again, he knew it'd be soon but not today, so there's that aspect to consider (I bring that up to say that I like to think Light didn't put on a performance when he started crying, I wanna believe that was legit and he was grieving). But I'm totally open for friendly, civil discussion here.

I rewatched and reread the scene in question and, from a meta standpoint, I'm sure that Ohba just forgot and didn't consider that Misa would know he'd die. But from a character standpoint, I think it shifts the perspective on the scene and adds some interesting nuance.

The Stranger and my thoughts on where each LCB Sinner is at (Long)

Hey, I actually sat down and read L'etranger, Meursault's source novel. I've got some fucking feelings about it, especially relating it to Limbus Company and what it might mean for his Canto in like 2 years.

Firstly, you should read or listen to this book. It's short, surprisingly punchy, and easy to follow. I (probably) don't have autism but I can absolutely see a read of this where the character does or is neurodivergent in some other way; beyond his relationship and evaluation of social queues and norms he also seems to deal with sensory issues. There are better people than me who should talk about this and I'm probably not adding a lot to the conversation but keeping this reading in my head for the climax added an extra layer of discomfort (intentional discomfort for the benefit of the story's message, I should say) to the whole book. But It's worth experiencing even if you disagree with that reading or have a different one.

Limbus Brainrot/Spoiler stuff from here on in.

There's always the question of where exactly each Sinner is in their story as they're on the bus. Their stories have been reinterpreted and/or jumbled in ways that make it fun to guess, so to go over each Sinner and where they are based on what we know or my theories:

Yi Sang - I'm not gonna front, I don't really get The WIngs, but this seems like a Good End AU for him. He already escaped his "Wife's" control and the sunless room and is now flying again (metaphorically, or maybe literally? i dont know help me).

Faust - Likely in the middle of the part where she's using Mephistopheles' power to do good in the world and prior to her being damned to hell. Side note, she's last to get a Canto and I bet it's not a coincidence that (afaik) she and Dante are the only two with Hell in their stories directly. My long shot call is that Faust is also Beatrice and there will be so much DantexFaust ship art in 2026.

Don Quixote - The biggest enigma. La Sangre de Sancho has gripped the imagination of the fandom and I am no exception. She's next after Heathcliff so we'll get her some time in August at the latest and I can't wait. My best guess is she's currently gallivanting and will be forced home in her Canto, assuming Don is Sancho theory isn't true. Praying her Canto is called The Impossible.

Ryoshu - In Hell Screen, the reason the painter is obsessed with torture is that he can only paint what he has seen and is trying to paint the Buddhist Hell. In his quest for his art he destroys his life and those around him, and ends up committing suicide over it. But there is a villain in the form of the Lord who beyond driving the story by requesting the screen in the first place is guilty of SA and murder. I'm expecting we're post story; the Lord is related to the five fingers, the daughter might be recast as a friend or something, and the sword Ryoshu carries is likely the screen. Nothing revolutionary in my guesses here, but it's either going to be that straight-forward or insanely abstract, where she's the lord and the painter and the daughter and the screen and the sword is the monkey or some shit.

Hong Lu - I have not yet read Dream of a Red Chamber, it's next on the list. Forgive me!

Heathcliff - Oh boy. Like many, I expect he is post-spurning by Catherine and is on his journey for his fortune on the LCB. So, his Canto will be about coming home to a beloved who is with someone else. Yes, the beloved blorbo will suffer for my amusement. Let's go 3 hours Heathmael sex scene!

Ishmael - We now know her story already kinda happened, as many expected, making this a bizarre sequel to Moby Dick. I think it gave PM a lot of room to do whatever they wanted to while still sticking to the themes of the story. Already wrote about what I loved about this and the recontextualizing of Ahab as a whale unto herself (which I don't actually know if it's in the original novel, but it wouldn't surprise me).

Rodion - A weird one. Her inciting incident happened, the murdering of the landlord/pawnbroker, but the unintentional death of the innocent sister was shifted to the entire damn block. So if I had to guess she's in the period after her crime trying to avoid being caught, but no police officer allegory has really been introduced yet. I read Crime and Punishment years ago so I can't say for certain but it feels the most loosely adapted and suffers a tad for being part of the intro. Rodya's story is in no way finished so it's up in the air. Praying for a Petrovich just so people can meet the OG Columbo.

Sinclair - Still need to read Demian, but I have a rough understanding of the plot. Also unfinished in his story, Sinclair has a long way to go to his self-realization. This feels more intentional however, I remember someone made an observation of Cinqlair as representative of his drunken college years where he's popular but unfulfilled, and I think we can extend that to all of his IDs. He seems to have the most potential of all the Sinners, so much so that I wouldn't be surprised if there's a mirror world where he's a Color unto himself. I digress, the point is he's pre Frau Eva (who if she turn's out to be the Purple Tear I will lose my mind) who is also called Beatrice at some point so what's up with that PM?

Outis - Another big mystery, especially as she isn't Odysseus but Outis, a name referencing a particular part of the Odyssey with the Cyclops. I have to imagine she's on the Odyssey, journeying home after the Smoke War (which might have some parallels with the Trojan War beyond the obvious). It's interesting all the Greek myth named Abnormalities are Hospital themed, might be something there but nothing I can parse from my limited knowledge of Greek society and folklore. While she' might be a traitor, I'm thinking she's joined Limbus Company to hide while on her journey; she might be wanted dead by something and is concealing her identity after what happened in the war.

Greg - Again, a character post-story. He was locked in a room, he metamorphized, and... well he's alive? So we've diverged from the source novel, as it's taken the allegorical meanings and made them more literal, but Hermann is still around and a major player so who knows where this will go?

Meursault - I have so many thoughts. Meursault could be anywhere in his story, but I'm going to guess it's one of two places. First guess, we're completely pre story. His Canto opens with him getting a message that Maman died today, or maybe yesterday, he doesn't know. So the whole story plays out over the course of the Canto. But more likely, and my prediction, is that he's currently in "jail" awaiting his execution or acquittal. He has already murdered a man (or done some other crime) and instead of being tried for that, he has been tried and sentenced for his peculiarities of character. Bound in the chains of others, the multitudes have tightened their hold (I'm very clever and not cringe at all).

So I have to wonder what light blinded him, overwhelmed him so much that it led to his crime? The Bright Nights and Dark Days are an obvious choice, and I'm not the first to suggest it. Perhaps he distorted? Anyway, his story ends with him having given up on acquittal and instead hoping for a crowd of people hating him as he approaches the guillotine. I'm super interested in how this will play out in Limbus, especially as he must survive for gameplay purposes.

Also, Meursault is so horny. Like, oh my god. Half of his thoughts are of Marie, specifically of wanting her and all the connotations that contains. He spurns God in the face of a Chaplain, saying that He is worth nothing compared to a single hair on a woman's head. Meursault is not a romantic but not just some horndog either, his desire for sex and women and their bodies feels like an extension of his worldview centered on the immediacy of life and not just debauchery or hedonism. It's a part of the idea life is lived as today, yesterday, and tomorrow, and there is joy and happiness in that simplicity. I feel like this will get cut for Limbus but I hope it isn't, I want Meursault to casually admit he desires every Sinner on the bus carnally (yes the men and NB too, probably just a HC but I do believe that the City is a binormative society based on its already loose relationship to gender identity).

So uh, that's the thoughts so far. Merry Christmas, I guess.

Robson isn't a villain, Vern is the central antagonist of the series, Robson is just another of Vern's victims

hes another person, like Keller and Beecher, who Vern exploited and hurt, he just exploited him by instructing him to commit horrific acts of violence emotionally baiting him with the implicit promise that any one of these times now, he will have accumulated enough units of demonstration of his own love and loyalty to receive even a single unit of love from Vern as a reward. Also, hes had Robson do so much of his dirty work that people want revenge on Robson who did it and dont even bother to trace it back to Vern's orders so with every attempt to prove hes worthy of protection and fatherly love he has more people who want to get a hold of him for revenge. If he refuses any order, no matter how low or morally repugnant or allows him to show any sense of disapproval/"judgement" even when hes clearly totally horrified like when they find the hand in the mail. If he even questions the steadily more horrific escalation he risks losing that protection and falling into the hands of the enemies he made following Vern's orders.

So he follows Vern's orders, and gets more people wanting to hurt him, so needs protection even more desperately, so REALLY cant refuse, and by the time we are introduced to him hes snowballed into a situation where any form of refusal or protest or questioning orders or hesitation will land him in the clutches of part of the 90% of the occupants of the building to be likely brutalized possibly raped and for sure killed. He copes with this powerlessness in the dynamic Vern has manually artificially induced to ensure his dependance and therefor cooperation indefinitely by fantasizing that Vern sees him as a son and will eventually once hes done enough nd proven himself worthy be shown the love he was denied by the father that abused him.

To Vern, Robson is just another type of livestock. He's a piece of property with no choice to behave autonomously obligated by the danger Vern put him in to follow every order (so more people want to hurt him worse and hes even more dependent on Schillinger). Keller endured his abuse knowing there was a release date that would eventually free him from Schillinger's ownership, as did Beecher. If they could endure, there was a light at the end of the tunnel when there was a scheduled date after which it would never happen again. Robson is never seeing the edge of the penitentiary property with his own eyes in his lifetime. Theres not even an option to be considered for parole until hes nearly of retirement age.

And hes not getting paroled and has zero belief that if he even survives long enough to attend his hearing they're just going to list a quarter decade worth of practically daily write ups for fighting, raping, cold murder cases that they cant convict him for beyond a reasonable doubt but know goddamn well he did them because he did it in the middle of the day in the center of the densely populated common area in full view of literally fucking everybody every time like it wasnt even illegal, Carl Jenkins suicide and the kid he tortured with the razor which again not worth convicting a guy already doing life like u can only serve a life sentence once but hes under no illusion that hes ever going to see the outside of the facility with the eyes of this mortal body. There's no end in sight, no promise that if he can just endure until a set date his predicament will simply hit an expiration date and hell continue an existence back with his wife trying to be at least normal enough that she doenst abandon him too for his last few years before his number is called.

Robson knows he is going to die in Oz, regardless of it is violent or natural theres no reward for surviving the day other than a new one do survive in the morning. He will never be a mechanic, or a night shift stocker at a chain grocery store, or a plumber. He will never be anything but a convict. Hes never been anything but a convict since he was in a way incarcerated in his father's house and once arriving at Oz at the very end of his 20s, when everybody in his age range was hitting major life milestones and starting families and entering careers, his life including his chance to be anything positive or productive instead of just somebody who was too evil to let out of the series of cages within cages like a nesting doll with a cell a few paces in either direction that he had to share with another grown man and never experience another moment of privacy where he can take the mask off and acknowledge his feelings of vulnerability and state of hyperarousal constantly waiting to be hurt.

Hes literally got nothing to look forward to in his remaining lifespan, only fears he know will come true; while he could hold his own in a fair one on one fight, only Schillinger's supposed capability of protecting him from such harm, he knows how easy it is with the help of two or three other guys to overpower even somebody in good enough shape to disable any of the attackers one on one cant overpower and neutralize 4 people cooperating to get him into a blind spot and subject him to gang rape. he knows within a decade hell start getting weaker and weaker with every passing day that ages him until hes as helpless to defend himself physically as he was at 6 years old and it is inevitable if nothing else gets him first. He knows his death will likely be a drawn out, painful process in which even if he is spared from sexual violence he will relive the trauma of being restrained and having no control over the way somebody is interacting with his body he doesnt fear death and actually wishes for it every time he gets off balance on a latter or unsteady on the scaffolding he hopes to fall to his death or that some malfunction with the buildings heater will pump carbon monoxide into his room and suffocate him in his sleep, or that if he has to get killed that somebody will just cut his neck or thigh while he passes them and be halfway bled dry before he realizes he was even cut. He regularly considers suicide but worries that it will make his wife, who is still by his side 6 years into his sentence, feel abandoned or deserted or like she failed to save him and cant bring himself to hurt her any worse. But thats the last fear he knows hell live to see; shes going to get sick of him, used to his absence, miss him less every day until she barely remembers he exists. five years, a decade, shell have mourned him thoroughly enough to bury him in her heart and shes amazing so it wont take any time at all for her to meet a much better man than him who isnt hiding that he spent his childhood as an incestous sex slave and has not just a high school diploma but a degree in something romantic like poetry or history and she will finally see a door open for her to run through into the life she actually deserves if only she severs her ties to her husband officially, files the divorce, stops letting him mail her his weeks check from the mail room, start a real life and a family and be happy and normal while she still has time and he wants that for her but she might be the closest thing to love that hes ever been shown in his existence and the certainty that hes going to have to sign her away and see her signature on papers about how she finally found somebody actually worth loving and any love she might still feel is just a burden that shell have to make an effort to dispose of bit by bit but its finite and will eventually cease to exist completely.

So all there is to do is wait, bracing for the arrival of these inevitable blows that as long as he is alive could land at any time and over a long enough timeline if nobody ends his life his worst fears manifesting are the only things waiting for him in his remaining natural lifespan. He wants to die but he knows schillinger wont let him because he still has a decent amount of milage before hes no longer valuable for his utility. Anybody who will do it if he offers not to resist is going to make it painful, and until he gives out which as a young man in good shape could take weeks, maybe months, of consistent torture before it finally kills him. because nobody wants to kill him, nobody wants to cut his sentence short and give him the mercy of the freedom his body will never experience, everybody wants to HURT him. They want to make him suffer. He gets it, knows he deserves it, knows hes not going to live the rest of his days never slipping up and passing through a blind area, or that nobody will just pay off a screw to bring him to wherever hes going to spend the finale of his earthly experience in an antithetic amount of agony watching whoever gets ahold of him enjoy the act of causing him pain, of putting a human body in crisis by experimenting with the application of different forms of pain to the different parts of the anatomy holding off on where the nerves are concentrated most densely to keep him from going into shock and being able to hide from some of the pain, to have something lest to escalate to once he fails to respond to get him alert again and break through the dissociation. The only thing he is more afraid of than the pain that hes going to experience in the process of being murdered is that, in the end, hell survive. Hell heal, recover, mend, for the first time considering with horror that he might not be allowed to die. They might bring him to the brink and revive him until everybody who wanted to destroy the cell inside the cell where his soul was banging on the bars to be set free had their chance to put him through a worse hell than he would be dragged down to and finally end his miserable existence as the only act of mercy that he still had faith that a god whod never heard his screams might see him worthy to grant.

James Robson is such a tragic, forsaken, broken, devastated, vulnerable, desperate character that his happy ending, while Max shows his last scene to be him healing in therapy, is actually that Vern sends Clarence to attack him in a bathroom after trapping him in a stall. He asks in this dead monotone if hes about to be raped again, and when Clarence confirms, he offers to not fight back stating that he doesn't stand a chance at physically defending himself and even if he tried to fight Clarence would still be able to overpower and then abuse him. Back in the pod Vern confronts him about not fighting back without Robson giving that detail, confirming hes ordered the assault as a test to see if Robson would go down fighting or if at this point he was too tainted by having been Cutler's prag to resist knowing not only would he be overpowered anyway but that cooperation reduces the degree of violence/sadism involved in carrying out the rape. Clarence taunts him as he passes and Robson responds by letting him know he's HIV+ and submitted just to infect him to finally say he got retribution against a rapist. Clarence hits him and his nose or lip idr which starts bleeding and Vern is terrified of coming into contact with Robson's contaminated blood. Robson taunts him be moving his bloody hand up close to his face, and announces hes being transferred to an isolated unit for positive inmates referred to as "the fag ward".

Thats his happy ending. He contracts a fatal virus that will kill him in the next two decades at the longest. Hes not going to live to meet with parole. In close quarters like a prison where illness can spread so rapidly, it could be as soon as 18 months that he will catch something that he will be unable to fight off and it will kill him. But at most he has 20 years of getting a little sicker and weaker and more symptomatic with every passing day knowing its the best hell ever feal again in his life when he wakes up worse every morning. Because they have to inform her of his diagnosis, his wife is going to find out hed been raped or at the very least engaged with men sexually and the whole prison saw his abuse put on open public display so even if they never know what happened to him as a kid they know what happened to him as a grown men who didnt fight back and gave consent to his own violation, took his own clothes off, never resisted or tried to talk his way out of it, was emasculated and humiliated worse than if his history had surfaced because a six year old has no chance at defending himself from a grown man, but now everybody knows that not only did he submit without needing to be physically overpowered but that at some point during his time as a prag somebody, assumed to be Cutler, nutted a fatal virus into him with his explicit verbal permission to let Cutler use his body as a sex toy, not even rape by their standards, he agreed and never revoked that permission to anybody who tells the story, he consented. Then he is ordered to be violated after finally thinking the abuse was over for the last time once again only to be raped by Clarence and have the man he spent the entire series following the every command of in hopes to receive a speck of the experience of being loved by a father figure not only reject him and call him pathetic for not resisting an inevitable assault and Vern lets it slip implying Clarence reported back to him that Robson didnt fight back and it was a coordinated attack to test him and he failed and now hes suffered rape at the hands of Vern, his surrogate father, and his biological father, and learns pretty much that nothing will ever make him worthy of earning love and if both his fathers did this to him then hes the common factor and most likely at fault and somehow inviting or provoking the very people he believes are supposed to protect him into abusing him in the worst way.

He moves to the isolated wing occupied mostly by homosexuals and will spend the remainder of his days being looked at as just another disgusting diseased f@g waiting to die from a virus transmitted by sodomy and is branded forever as a homosexual in rank if not orientation by being housed in that wing. Vern dies a few days later and destroys any dream of reconciliation hed still been holding on to so that there was something to hope for other than that his first severe infection would be fatal and this would finally end. Then the mail room gets hit with anthrax. Everybody he knew or was friends with in his 6 years in Oz is dead. The only people who remember that hes rotting in the ward in the first place are people like Oriley and Beecher who either find it funny or find the thought of his fate too distasteful to dwell on. But now his blood is toxic. Hes so badly wrecked that whats left of him is no longer worth abusing or torturing because now hes a walking biohazard and so instead of even preparing to die like a man and cross the bridge of letting somebody access him to murder him as slowly and painfully as possible nd being done with it hes just sitting in a cell that being inside of lets everybody know he never gained his manhood and would be labeled a bitch until Cutler somehow manages to get the last punch in and murder him from beyond the grave. Total abandonment, a mass death of everybody hed come to feel comradery with in the last more than half a decade dies in a 24 hour period. The only people alive to even remember hes slowly dying in a humiliatingly stigmatized wing where he will spend the rest of his days with his location never letting anybody forget the state he allowed himself to be put on display in, and any new inmates wont know him as Vern's ruthless enforcer but as a sickly f@g who, if asked who he is, all anybody will remember was he was an AB who was exiled and wound up letting a biker claim ownership of him as a sex slave and thats how he became infected, by any witness account the second he didnt have the AB backing him up he wasn't man enough to fight his own battles and became a prag so that a REAL man would fight them in his place in exchange for on demand performance of any sex act requested and instead of getting beat to death or shanked by Pancamo he got fucked for a few weeks and then forsaken, left the lone survivor of what up until a few weeks earlier had been his fairly tight social circle and now hell never be more or make more of himself than the fact that of everybody branded a prag during his incarceration, hes the only one who volunteered to be fucked and made no effort to resist. So all he is and all he ever will be is a bitch, and now hes just waiting for the infection to become terminal and finally put an end to his story of overcoming nothing and with his housing relocation never becoming more or stronger or better than what he was at six years old in the shed and being on that unit nobody will ever learn anything more about who he was or his internal existence, just that he let a guy cum in his ass and it got him sick enough that hes going to die from it. His only solace is that now because he is infected, nobody will ever rape him again without consequences and his blood being contagious means has not going to be tortured to death like he anticipated.

hes just going to be forgotten. Hes going to rot. Hes going to slowly succumb to the virus and nobody is going to notice or care. If his wife gets the papers to the courthouse before that who will they even call to release his corpse to? He has literally nobody. He will probably be dumped into a pile of unidentifiably damaged bodies pulled from burning car crashes and IV addicts and washed up john and jane doe's that are decaying despite refrigeration from being unclaimed for so long. They're just going to throw him in a potters field with everybody else who never managed to be worthy of receiving love no matter how hard he worked to earn it or how much love he displayed hoping maybe somehow it would reflect back on him. He rots in despair and humiliation and complete solitude relieved to finally be able to abandon the hope of ever receiving love an surrender to the fact that he was disgusting, tainted, irreparable, and could finally accept that he was somehow so defective that no matter who he tried to get love from, he was unlovable, and all he'd ever amounted to was a source of sexual gratification to be used to get "real" men off, that was the maximum value that anybody saw in him as a living being. There probably wont be a headstone with his name on it even if there was anybody whod give a fuck to visit his grave. In town hall they'll have the paperwork confirming which mass grave of equally worthless wastes of life that nobody cared to claim or mark the spot with a rick etched with their name he was dumped in to prove on paper he was legally properly disposed of that nobody will ever bother to look up.

Brooke is a maniac just trying to stay on the wagon, especially when she meets Faith, since at the end of S2 of ND Brooke's mind gets Dana'd by Dru and while Buffy is in LA Brooke is back in Mosaic getting her brain put back together. The two girls bond really instantly and intensely because they're both troubled but it also leads to them being really bad influences on each other. Faith beats the shit out of her when Brooke tries to talk to in Graduation Day which is a factor in Buffy wanting to gut her like a pig lol. They do end up very amicable exes and friends but acknowledge they should probably not get back together.

I also ship Brooke with Spike because they actually have some commonalities in like taste and hobbies that would prompt them to actually get on and she WOULD be into his insane vampire flirting. Brooke has just generally spent more time around vampires and demons socially that she's better at understanding their social cues and she's also the voice of "demons are people. sometimes very evil people, but people" in ND, especially in S4. She, as the more slayer-coded one in the twins as self-halves metaphor thing, is more inclined to find his mix of monster/man immediately attractive and is less afraid of examining her interest. It also doesn't help that I extended the Gem of Amara stuff and have them doing a predator/terminator chase thing around Sunnydale (Brooke is usually the one who gets these kinds of scenes because it's just her Vibe lol), which is the kind of thing both of them would look at fondly as a fun relationship moment. Realizing this has absolutely been a crisis point because I like spu.ffy but sprooke/brike/whatever has legs..... but spu.ffy would be better for retaining readership..... but Brooke would think him chaining her up was cute and romantic which is so fucking funny. Like I KNOW regardless of how I go with things they'd end up best friends it's just that could..... develop into more......

I used to ship Buffy with Mateo who is an oc who's now kinda in limbo. I like him I just might wanna rework him a bit. He's a very handsome half demon who's mom was a potential slayer and his dad is like..... a 9ft tall red horned buff ass demon lol. They run a gym and Mat is VERY nice. He's tall, charming, kind, relaxed and a dancer. I now kinda really like the idea of Buffy with my oc Kalevi, who is a finnish vampire who's sister was the slayer which is why the family was turned. Her crisis over how powerless being the slayer is re: your own autonomy/fate lead to her commit suicide and he took out his grief on the Watcher's Council. He actually gets sent to Mosaic by his demon friends to get therapy and shit for his obvious violent suicidal depression which is how he ends up in Sunnydale where he gets a job at VMP 66.6 (yes I am VERY PROUD OF THIS JOKE) as a late night radio host. He eventually meets Buffy because he just wants to help the slayer out as a bit of a tribute to his sister, but being apart of that lifestyle again is actually very soothing and stabilizing for him. He's a singer/songwriter/musician and has both that like... hot 90s-00s goth guy vibe and "friend's burnout idiot older brother with a band" vibe. Again he's kind of a type Buffy already kinda likes (broody, artistic, tall, a smidge lame) and when I realized that I was like "oooooooooooooh hehehehehehe >:)". He's very mellow when not insane with rage and very family oriented and will allow Dawn to paint his nails whatever horrific combination she demands. He just generally a very reliable person with a good sense of humor. In a universe where those two are dating he absolutely gives her shoutouts on air and she's listening in the cemetery waiting to kill his neighbors giggling and kicking her feet.

Related to Kalevi I'm now also realizing he'd be a good fit for Drusilla. I'm still fully working that one out but I do really love the vibes so I'm gonna keep stewing on that.

I also had Buffy/Syd in one of my pinboards which is just WILD. I can only assume it was suppose to potentially replace the S6 spuf.fy drama but idk...... rambling about the rick-unity-wong talk bc i'm upset about it

r: look, it's clear you weren't lying when you said you could've taken over earth because your finger just took over america. i need you to help me fix that.

u: oh, it took that to make you believe me?

r: why should i believe you? you show up unannounced and hijack a state.

u: i called you! multiple times! you ghosted me.

so there are two ways i think you can read rick not believing unity. one is that he believed it was trying anything to stay in proximity to rick even though he was asserting boundaries, or two, he did actually believe it but wanted to deal with the situation on his own or just wanted it gone. either way, he didn't want to be around it.

then there's the part about rick ghosting it. like okay yes. unity tried giving rick a heads up but the fact is that it knew rick wasn't answering its calls. it Knew rick wouldn't know it was there unless it made a big deal about it being there and that's what it did. it literally showed up without permission and assimilated a whole state on rick's home planet, in rick's country. just to get his attention.

w: rick, is that true?

r: she dumped me. why would i answer her calls?

and now we get a blatant explanation for why rick was ignoring unity. i imagine it would've been clear enough anyway without this explanation but rick is still upset from being broken up with. so he decided to ghost it with no explanation, cutting it off entirely.

w: alright, i'm going to commit a cardinal sin in couples therapy here, but rick, i think you're wrong. [..] you had an outer-space lady who was worried for your life and your response was hostile enough to cause a huge problem.

u: thank you.

w: now you're asking her to both forgive you and solve it?

now, the mistake wong makes here is assuming she knows the full story. obviously she's smart and i think she gave her best analysis based on what she knows of the situation, but in her ignorance she fails to listen to rick, her patient.

the whole theme of this episode is rick asserting his boundaries. he doesn't want to see unity because last time he did it ended catastrophically for him. he's not ignoring it out of pettiness but as a defence mechanism. a coping strategy. and when it decided to follow through with its plan of coming to america anyway, destroying the boundaries rick had in place, it made him lash out.

rick also has a tendency to self sabotage when things are going well for him, whether he realises it or not. he abuses morty when they get too close. he made unity party with him instead of doing its duties. his actions push people away, keeping them at arms length.

i believe his boundaries are in place to prevent these episodes of self sabotage. so when they get ignored and discarded, he goes back into that mindset.

and wong, who would be aware of this at least vaguely, blames unity's actions on rick ignoring it which is not fair in the slightest imo.

w: unity, i think the reason rick brought me here is that he doesn't know how to indicate to you he's changed. because he's changing very slowly. but he is.

now this is something i had trouble understanding bc i am a shameful rick apologist at the best of times and couldn't remember what he actually did wrong. his crime in this instance was when he was distracting unity from its work, influencing it to drink and party all the time and avoid its responsibilities. this became too much for it, especially when it saw how rick used the same methods to detach himself from his family.

so it broke up with him, leaving him to spiral into the worst mental state we as the audience have personally seen him in in present day - his suicide attempt. unity doesn't know about that, and i'm guessing wong doesn't either, because all rick needed to say to wong was that their breakup ended horribly for him so being around it is difficult for him and maybe she would've understood more. but no that's too much vulnerability for old man sanchez.

rick has changed since then. i imagine he better understands why unity left him. i also think he knows that it wants the best for him but struggles with accepting that. that's what led to this mess of a situation.

he feels hurt from being abandoned. it feels hurt that rick couldn't understand why it left. and all of this culminated in a messy situation where unity acted drastically to get rick's attention, and rick in his stubbornness and pain refused to accept it.

and so. i think wong spoke too quickly. i think she definitely knows rick's patterns and is right to call him out but made an unfair judgement on only him because even she expects the worst from him. he is changing, but she is encouraging unity not to give him a second chance because he's not there yet. when really that decision should be up to unity.

even though it does take agency at the end. after unity releases america from its hold, we get this absolutely heartbreaking scene between it and rick.

r: i trust you now.

u: that's nice. but i don't trust you.

unity turns rick's lack of trust in it back at him, and it's telling the truth. it feels betrayed by rick's actions in this episode because it only wanted to make sure rick was alright. to it, rick seems to be punishing unity for caring about him.

anyway in conclusion. rick is mentally ill, wong was a little too harsh on him in this episode bc it's a complex situation, and unity will act drastically if it can't get rick's attention. it's unfair to blame it all on rick in this case (even though things are normally his fault) bc while he did act immaturely in response, he wasn't the only one that escalated the conflict so drastically.

Teresa Agnes Is Innocent?

This is strictly about the movies.

For one, people say she should have known that WCKD wouldn't not hurt anyone. While this may seem like common sense to most, we have to remember that Teresa grew up with them. I'm her memories, they do good. Because of their goal and the way they took her in when she had nobody, it’s reasonable for her to trust them and have a bias.

Next, in The Death Cure we find out they have trackers in their neck. That means that WCKD was bound to find them sooner or later. Her telling them only sped up that process. There was no actually getting out of it.

People say that she is the entire reason Newt became infected. This is a flat out lie. While they did go to the city because of Minho being captured she did not give him the Flare. There are two possible places he did. The first one is when their car got flipped over. In that scene Newt does end up holding his arm. This is from one of two things. Either he just hurt his arm in some way or a Crank bit/scratched him. The other possibility is the movies followed the books when it comes to the virus being airborne. Either way, Teresa did not plan on them coming to get Minho nor did she plan on this happening. She was looking for a cure that would have saved him. Some people say it was due to her long speech. However, that long of a speech could have actually saved him. When we see her giving the speech that is all she is doing. However, someone else turned on the lights, and light makes Cranks violent. That is most likely why Newt woke up and start attacking Thomas.

Now she did end up finding the cure. She could have saved everyone, but there was a war going on in the city which was already killing everyone. This was not something she could have predicted. If that hadn't been happening she very well could have saved the world.

Another huge factor to her not being able to is Janson. Janson has only self interest. He does not care about people who can't give him something he wants. That's why even when there was the cure he wanted it all instead of making more for any survivors of the war who were infected. When Teresa realized this she turned against them completely. She decided to save Thomas instead of something that she had dedicated almost her entire life to and had lost people over. She cared more about someone who hadn't tried to understand where she was coming from instead of what meant so much. She saved him and dragged him up through a burning building. Not only that, she apologizes for her actions and says she tried, showing that she blames herself despite so much of it being out of her control.

Her death was a suicide. That is what makes people who say they laughed when she died do more than get under my skin. They also say Newt would have been happy, but I disagree. Newt was selfless in a different way, and I truly believe he would be devastated to know she had committed suicide.

How do we know this is a suicide? Well, she has people reaching for. She has the choice, but she saved Thomas. Then, she doesn't see the point in going on. She feels so much guilt that she dies a horrific death of burns and falling to the concrete from a tall building. Not only would it be extremely painful, it wouldn't feel so quick even if it may have seemed that way. She would literally die in flames. She was not standing there because she was frozen in fear. She stood there because she thought she didn't deserve to live. The way she was able to stand after part of the building fell and get up with her head held high proves it. That is absolutely awful and unfair of her to believe and feel.

Lastly, she was a teenager. The estimated ages of everyone in the movies from what I’ve seen is sixteen to nineteen. No matter where she fell her frontal cortex was not fully developed which can cause more impulsive or irrational decisions. While it was clearly a very difficult but stern one and she stood by it, my point is that she had so long left. She could have learned so much about herself and grown even more, until she was someone that could be more healed and happier.

Teresa Agnes took her life as a teenager because she felt guilt for so many things out of her control.

S is the most overrated season of the 90's anime. Period.

I did this before but lets look up the word Overrated.

-rated or valued too highly.

Something is considered overrated when it's regarded as more important or better than it actually is, often due to hype or societal expectations. It's a subjective judgment, and what one person finds overrated, another might not. 

This is the reason why I say that it is overrated.

The way a nice piece of the fandom acts about that season. ( If that your fave season that's fine. Nothing wrong with that. We all got our faves.)

They act like it's untouchable .

That no other season can touch that season that come before or after it.

To the point that I feel like SuperS gets so much unnecessary hate because it comes after that season.

When in all honestly S is really the beginning of Sailor Moon downfall.

It is the beginning of the Senshi going from useful to being useless in every regard ( from being a supportive friend to a Sailor Senshi) .

To them literally forgetting about the Silver Crystal and them going with their own plot point that they created in the Dark Kingdom arc.

Like the Rainbow Crystal Arc was genius but they literally went copy and paste with it in S ( Pure Heart Crystals) SuperS ( Dream Mirror) and StarS ( Stars Seeds)

But people want to say that the Manga copy and paste...

Then I also notice how so many people are like " Well S gets super dark! That's the reason why it's so great."

Like I'm not going to take anything away from S being dark because it is ( really it is) but the other seasons before and after that was not?

Sailor Moon Classic- People got stabbed ( Nephrite and Mamo) blasted ( Zoisite), found out the whole Main Cast are reincarnated from an ancient civilization that got destroyed, the main character watch her four "friends" die, had to battle to save the guy she hated but actually liked from the woman who tried to kill her thousands of years ago, save him and watch him die AGAIN to save her, then battle the woman and dies but have a wish to be a normal girl thus rewrite the timeline and everyone comes back with no memories.

R- A little girl comes from the future after her home was destroyed trying the find the one thing that will save her parents and home after she thought it was her fault that her home was destroyed. She's getting chased by a group of people that is responsible for her home being destroyed. The Main Character gets her heart broken by the guy she loves that she doesn't know that is having visions and dreams of her getting killed like she did in the past. Find out the little girl is actually the Main Character and her love interest child and the Main Character is Queen in the future. The Main character gets kidnapped and almost SAed by a character that is totally obsessed with the future version of herself. That little girl gets corrupted into a villain by the main villain by telling her that no cares about her and she is not loved. The little girl who now a corrupted woman almost killed her parent past selfs. A woman got turned into a dragon and then got killed because of her jealousy for a guy who wasn't worth. A guy got left in a burning space ship to die. Another woman almost committed suicide becasue she realized the guy she fighting for didn't love her. People got blasted to death by the main villain. ( Yall fucking sleep on R so bad. The Manga, Crystal, and 90's anime this season is wild. R is that girl for real. lol )

season 2, episode 5 “dust and shadows” aka let’s keep making Alec suffer because that’s fun isn’t it

I hate this episode I hate this episode I hate this episode with every core but let’s get into it

1. Alec: move bitch I’m gay

2. Alec, just shoot him COME ON

3. Alec is different because he actually feels guilt and remorse. he’s not trying to make excuses for his actions. Jocelyn is clary’s mother and Alec thinks it’s jace’s mother so he feels like the blame is on him. Alec is obviously one of my favorite characters but what I love about Alec is he takes accountability and responsibility. he grows, adapts, changes for the better. he doesn’t just stand there make excuses and try to justify his behavior (I love a dark Alec) (his cute little angry face) (I’m sorry but it’s so cute 🥹)

4. Jace trying to be like I know what you’re going through but you chose to join Valentine. Alec didn’t choose to go and murder Jocelyn. Alec’s choices were taken way from him. Jace didn’t have to go and join Valentine and commit atrocities but he did and it’s something he won’t even pay for. literally jace is just walking around doing as he pleases and no one thinks hey this man should be in prison for all the murders he’s committed!!!!! he was in the city of bones for not even a whole week and was let out

5. I don’t care about jace’s feelings, I hate this motherfucker SO MUCH. he gets to hurt Alec and Magnus and Izzy and do whatever he wants and it’s a ok!!!!! it’s honestly infuriating but hey he’s supposed to be good looking and has trauma so it’s accepted

12. I hate when if some people are close to their parents and then they tell others “you would do the same” not everyone has a good relationship with their parents. I don’t and I take offense to this whole attitude of clary’s. I get she misses her mother- it’s understandable but not everyone has that kind of relationship or wants their parents around

13. Magnus’s mother committed suicide because of what Magnus is. who would want such toxicity in their lives? and clary doesn’t get until now but some people who parents who care shouldn’t assume everyone has that because we don’t. Magnus’s father was abusive and to add- so is his other father, a prince of hell. Magnus isn’t winning in the parents category

14. Magnus’s pain doesn’t get talked about enough which is another reason they would have a lot of material for a Magnus spin off. I do wish they would have showcased some moments with Alec of him getting to know Magnus more. and I’m very appreciative of what we ended up getting but some sweet intimacy moments would have been nice as well 🥹
