A3 will "Deepen" Spider and Quaritch's Relationship "For Better or For Worse"
Read the article HERE!
yall I decided to take a break from social media for a week while I visited my family, and I figured nothing was gonna happen while I was gone since the Avatar fandom's been so dry lately. Imagine my surprise when this is literally the first thing I see when I open instagram after getting back from my trip!!
I have too many thoughts I'm just gonna blurb them all here
first off, this scene either means Spider got captured by Quaritch AGAIN! OR it means Spider willingly went with Quaritch for some reason and obviously isn't thrilled about it, and yikes, I don't know which option is worse! I'd hate to see him captured AGAIN after being a prisoner for so long, but I also don't want to think about what circumstances would lead to him willingly going with Q...
The very second thing I noticed was Quaritch's awesome hoodie, its got the recom logo on it, idk why its so funny to see him in casual clothing lmao. I want one of those. Q looks like he's trying to be a cool dad for his teen who's not buying it lol
anyways, getting more serious, Q just looks all happy and proud of himself, and his body language looks like he's trying to cajole spider into cheering up or doing something for him. At first glance, it looks like a nice scene, but when you stop and think about the context, it feels a little more sinister
What did quaritch do to get spider here? why's he trapped in bridgehead again? The room looks like yet another holding cell, so he's clearly reduced back to his weird POW/mascot status. What's Q trying to get spider to do now? Why does poor spider look so upset? Sir, can you not try to kidnap your child for 5 seconds đ
Awhile ago I made a post speculating that Quaritch might respect Spider's decision to stay with the sullies and let him be as long as he's safe, but this image makes me think thats not happening!
But ANYWAY, onto Spider!
The metkayina tatt!! The seashells in his hair! The new loincloth! baby boy is getting accepted we love to see it
but uhhh somebody on reddit pointed out that if you look carefully at his wrists you can see the skin is red/bruised like he was handcuffed or tied down, poor boyyyđđđ
And I know this is just a still, but he looks so beaten down and tired of Quaritch's shit, he needs a break
Here's what Stephen Lang had to say in the interview:
âThey reconnect out of necessity, their connection is not a solo connection. There are times when everybody comes together on some level. But, when enemies cooperate, you can be sure betrayal is just around the corner.â
So it's not just Spider and Quaritch who will reconnect, and I'm betting he's alluding to the leaked scene of Jake and Quaritch being forced to team up. But from the sound of it, that alliance is not going to last very long, which isn't surprising at all knowing Quaritch. Oh well, it'll be cool to see while it lasts
âSpider confuses Quaritch, but Quaritch wants clarity. There is something about Spider that Quaritch really loves â not a word we associate with him. I think respect and admiration really develop in spades, as well as animosity and manipulation. The relationship will deepen â for better or worse.â
Woop, there it is, basically lines up with what I was anticipating. Quaritch is confused, but deep down he really loves, respects, and admires Spider, and I think he'll be more willing to admit it after he called him son at the end of A2. However, there will also be animosity and manipulation, presumably meaning that even though Q genuinely loves Spider, he's still going to try to manipulate him into aligning with his goals, which won't end well for poor Spider. Aaaaaghhhh I love and hate these kinds of character dynamics: the love is there, the love is real, but it's not going to save their relationship because Quaritch can't let go of his villainous side. It's gonna be so tragic! I can't wait to see how it all pans out!

Complaining abt Suicide Squad yet again but the fact that they have Waller exposing the alien community to space racist attacks and talking abt how she got to her position through deceit and being a terrible person and stuff is just. Ahsfiwueh JUST SAY YOU DONT KNOW WALLER.
Anyways literally the 3rd mission of the Squad ever (and the first framed as smth Waller picked and not orders from above) was the Squad discrediting and stopping a rogue vigilante who was only arresting POC and funneling white people into white supremacy groups (of which he was the most prominent member) in SUICIDE SQUAD #4. and it's explicitly framed as this mission being personal for Waller that she's hiding from the government bc its illegal like. Guys. Please why are we having her incite (space bc comics) racist attacks now
Also the whole "Amanda got her position through deceit and being a terrible person" NO. she KEPT her position through being shitty and playing complicated political games!!! She wasn't always that way like there is a difference and it is IMPORTANT ppl PLEASEEEE. In Secret Origins #14 we learn Amanda's backstory and she used to be a normal, caring person! Like even after she entered into working in government and politics she wasn't automatically morally bankrupt like please people. She was originally given control of the Squad by Reagan (*sigh* 80s comics...) to distract and get rid of her because she was so successful at pushing progressive social policy in Congress. Acting like she's this static pillar of evil is such a waste of her character and so fucking uninteresting and disrespectful to her arc it drives me MAD.
Like I am NOT saying Waller is all sunshine and rainbows, she fucking SUCKS (said w love <3) but like there's a human being there. It's a progression, she has a character arc like please, DC, please!!! They've fucked up Waller so bad and made her so opaque and uninteresting she can't even be the protagonist of her own story for fucks sake!
Like I don't know how many times I have to scream it until DC hears me or remembers but WALLER IS THE MAIN CHARACTER OF SUICIDE SQUAD. ITS HER BOOK. yet right now she's a cutout to be used as the villain wherever the writers please. Even in her book we get none of her perspective really displayed, no exploration of her thoughts with any kind of understanding of the role she traditionally has played and was made to play in the story.
#its like youre unable to root for her in any form. which is annoying bc shes actually awesome actually#also having her say âactually im the good guy fuck you'' w/o any actual deep analysis of her psyche or whatever while doing these things#doesnt count as development or showing shes 3 dimensional. its just having 2 dimensional waller say shes right when everyone is obviously#supposed to believe shes wrong#anyways i want real waller back please i miss herrrrrrrr#anyways hope mr john ridley has read secret origins no 14. i know its from 1987 but please guys please. my only hope#also it was a few months ago but i think they tried to push certain elements of a diff backstory in dream team and sorry but fuck that. and#any mention of another waller background like my eyes are closed sry. im a preboot truther#actually im just ignorant of most squad comics outside the original series. im gonna do a readthrough and become knowledgeable on other#stuff i just need to find time. so if im wrong then sorry if its smth factual and if you disagree with my opinion then uh sorry for ur loss#anyways shoutout to the time i had a nerd night w my one friend and she was asking me abt dc and said my favorite villains and i said waller#and silver swan. and she had a âyuck WHYâ to waller and a ???? to silver swan. love shouting out my faves and explaining them to the less#informed. didnt say a number 3 but would probably be parallax ig. idk hes kind of slay. or maybe someone else honestly i like hal but waller#and nessie are blorbo level for me i could think abt them for hours#or maybe it wouldnt be parallax actually idk who my 3 would be. hes definitely up there but way below the other 2. maybe the cheetah#interpretation that i personally have. v different from the popular cheetah interpretation esp rucka vers actually. much closer to the pĂ©rez#and esp develops some subtext there surrounding barbara and the exploitation and theft of sacred cultural artifacts and pieces but also#like british colonization a lil bit#but i actually despise the cheetah that lives in my head but think shed be interesting to use narratively and see diana fight#vs the other guys who i find interesting and sympathetic and like for themselves#whereas my fave interpretation of cheetah can rot in hell#i got off topic here#blah#swishy rant#also disclaimer that w the main character ik dreamer is the main character of dream team. im talking more in general and that amanda should#always have a huge role as shes the main character of the squad and yet is treated like its villain and not its protag#sui sq

Deadpool and Wolverine might actually be the best love letter to Marvel that Iâve seen.
On a meta level, the movie feels like it was written in response to people dismissing the Marvel properties that arenât the MCU. The MCU is the âSacred Timelineâ while everyone else gets thrown into the trash aka the Void. Wade even tried to become an Avenger because he feels that his life doesnât matter. Then, Wade gets a chance to join the MCU. Of course, heâs thrilled, but is then told that the rest of his universe is getting destroyed since they lost its âanchorâ (aka it lost its relevance). So, Wade decides to fight for his universe.
On a surface level, you can read this movie as a criticism of the MCU in that itâs treating the only stories worth a damn as the ones coming from that universe. But I donât think thatâs the case. I mean, first off, this was made by Marvel Studios. Feige and Co had to sign off on this and a great deal of the plot stems from the Loki show. Second, the movie felt more like it was trying to say that ALL Marvel stories matter. Itâs not really criticizing the MCU, itâs criticizing how audiences view the Marvel movies/shows that arenât the MCU. The âwhy should I care about this movie if it doesnât lead to the next Avengers movieâ attitude.
Thatâs why I say this was the best love letter to Marvel Iâve seen. Itâs a celebration of the companyâs works, both MCU and non-MCU. You can see that from the Easter eggs, the cameos, the nods to the fandom, and the emphasis on forgotten characters getting a chance at redemption. Even the jabs at the company and fanbase feel like they come from a place of love.
But what really sold me on this movie being a love letter to Marvel was the ending. Instead of a tease to a potential De4dpool movie, it was a montage of the development of the Fox Marvel movies (I canât say X-Men since clips of the Fantastic Four were there). On one side, itâs a touching send-off to the Fox X-Men franchise. On the other side, it felt like a reminder of why people love Marvel to begin with. Itâs these people - actors, writers, directors, producers - coming together to make these entertaining stories for us, to bring the comics to life on the big screen. Itâs like Ryan Reynolds was telling us to take a step back from all the conspiracy theorizing, nitpicking, and fanbase drama for a couple of hours, that we should just enjoy this Marvel movie as it is.
And it worked. It was genuinely just a fun, awesome movie to watch. If weâre using the MCU-as-a-TV-show-analogy that people love using, Deadpool and Wolverine is the 100th episode that is made dedicated to the fans and celebrating the show as a whole. Itâs a fanservice movie done right, one that goes beyond just references and cameos.

- "mammon, help me with this." "levi, why is my screen stuck like this?" "lucifer you paused the video-"
- he likes silk pajamas :3 he also can't STAND sweatpants for some reason.
- once a week, he dedicates atleast an hour or two grooming his own wings and his horns. there's a lot of occasions where he transforms in his demon form for parties and such.

- he has cold lips but his kisses are always very passionate with you!
- very well mannered everytime he's on the dining table and eating. y'all will never catch him spill a single food on the table or his clothes.

- eats with his hands sometimes when he's alone. and if someone ever finds out his excuse is always "so what? sometimes eating food with your hands is a better way to savor the taste." and i completely agree with him
- cleans his jewelry a lot. he wants them dazzling that people will do a double take when they see his mega awesome drip. like "haha yeah yall cant beat me on this baby" type shit

- during family photos, he's always the one doing silly poses. he does hand stands, he has his ass out on display, he's ON THE FLOOR
- always man spreading in class. like you can literally see him chewing on his pen from across the room with his legs sprawled out
- you know that empty feeling you get after watching a movie? double that and give it to mammon. man takes it HARD especially if it was a sad movie that he watched. he'll feel empty for a gooooddd while
- always breaks his earphones, so when d.d.d airpods came out he got really happy and bought like 6 pairs (he ended up breaking all of them too)

â leviathan:
- there's just like random times where he'll suddenly remember all of his past cringe phases. and it like appears on the most random times it's actually pissing him off
- always fantasized about creating character designs for simeon ever since he found out he was the creator of TSL
- he has a bad habit of HOLDING IN HIS PISS. yes he holds them in. he developed this habit ever since he got addicted to gaming. luckily for him he's a demon but boy if he was human he would've gotten kidney problems by now.
- levi would never ever admit it but he enjoyed getting spun around by mammon when they were still kids. like mammon grabs his arms then just spins him around and stuff
- sleeps with his headphones on and now he can't sleep without it. he's just like me jujujuju
- he really likes alex g :3
- sometimes he wishes he was a magical pop star girl performing for people on stage because they always look so happy when he watches them

- has a hidden album on his phone of stolen shots of you doing the most random shit ever. eating, sleeping, showering..đ
â satan:
- even when it's freezing cold, his feet are always peeking out of his blanket. can't sleep without his bare feet hanging out.
- doesn't need reading glasses but insists on buying them because he thinks it fits the detective aesthetic. unfortunately he loses them a lot and no one knows why
- besides lucifer, satan is very sleek and neat when putting on neck ties
- had a phase where he absolutely despised coffee and tea because he found out lucifer enjoyed it. deep down he knew he enjoyed them too and it'd be one of the reasons for his constant rampages..
- started enjoying lofi music ever since levi introduced him to it.
- out of all the brothers, satan feels the most comfortable crying in front of mammon the most. (can i get some big brother mammon appreciation out here? đ)
- he's the type to practice his lines in front of the mirror before asking you out on the date! he just wants everything to be perfect for you and yes sometimes he messes up but it's your fault for being too pretty

- does that back arch thing in his room when he's bored đ
- bought so many makeup products once to the point lucifer banned makeup in HOL for like a month đ asmo held a grudge for a while because he was lowkey kinda conscious of his appearance when he'd go outside. especially when he's in front of you! ;((
- second most followed user on devilgram! (top one is diavolo lol)
- if he had to choose a favorite makeup brand from the human world it's either the ones with the cute packaging (ex: flower knows, too faced) or the high end brands like dior
- changes bed sheets like twice a week because it's either he can't stand the feeling anymore or found a new inspo on devilgram

- crop dusts every now and then
â beelzebub:
- finds those gross ass thirst trappers who sexualizes food nasty asf and is a big donutdaddy hater
- wins awards from eating competitions a lot and always ALWAYS spoils you and belphie first
- always the viewer in situations where one of the brothers fight w eachother. mans always there for some reason so lucifer always approaches him first when smth happens lol

- he likes hand made accessories/jewelry. belphie was the one who made his choker on his everyday outfit and cherishes it everyday
- he thinks tongue piercings are cool but never went out of his way to get one
- buys burger merch or any food merch in general lol
- he was never really the type to care about his own appearance and only did the bare minimum to make himself look presentable. but sometimes he does feel insecure when people get too intimidated by him, especially when it's you.
- "mc, you're not afraid of me right? i won't hurt you. i promise"
- majority of the time he's the one who fixes belphie's bed and cleans his side of the room so lucifer won't get mad at him
â belphegor:
- has no shame in stealing pillows from furniture shops and always gets away with it
- unintentionally says the most sassy remarks ever and stares at you when you call him out for it
- being the youngest, he doesn't really need to go shopping for his own necessities because one of the brothers already buys it for him before he can even step out of the house
- when you'd go back to the human world, he'd always gaze up at the stars and wonder how you're doing and if you're getting enough sleep
- always constipated like idk he just seems like the type to only shit once a week lmfao
- one time (or two..or three) he accidentally used a different toothbrush that belonged to one of the brothers because he was half asleep
- hates the feeling of jewelry on him because he thinks it's just in the way. especially hates earrings because it's a nuisance when he sleeps.
- HORRIBLE driver and can't drive for shit. crashed mammon's car once because he fell asleep. and his in defense was because traffic was so long smh
- he can't live without his cardigans. always wears long sleeved shirts unless it's summer season in the devildom and settles for loose shirts. he also has a habit of pulling his sleeves that it nearly covers his whole hand
- very calming singing voice. back when he was still in the celestial realm, a bunch of angel kids would approach him at night, telling him to sing lullabies for them to help them sleep <3

what's Leverage (this is an invite to infodump)
Hohoho ok ok ok. Wiki-level infodump incoming!
So, Leverage is a 5 seasons TV show from the early 2010s that has come back in 2021 with a follow-up show called Leverage: Redemption. It is a Robin Hood kind of series in which a group of thieves help poor/honest citizens get back at the rich/powerful who wronged them/stole from them/abused them.
Despite most episodes following the same format, it manages to stay interesting and attention grabbing thanks to its peak attention to details. Everything you see in the episode is a hint for how they get the bad guy, which should be a staple of the police genre but which is particularly well done here.
It's a character focused series, with very interesting development and overarching themes and plots. It also does an amazing work at blurring the line between "good" people and "bad" people. Some good guys are absolute pieces of shit, some bad guys are just down on their luck. Several episodes have the main gang changing plans totally because the "bad" guy they were trying to scam ended up being just another victim, so instead they started offering their help to fight the actual bad guys. Many times the bad guy is a piece of shit but when there needs to be nuance, the job is done incredibly well.
There's also a very purposeful Found Family Trope that's just... great. It's awesome.
Now, I just said it's a very character focused show so I'll have to dive in more into the actual characters. I'll be trying to keep it to the very first episode and remain vague on the rest but there will be some spoilers ahead! Especially so since every single in-show introduction is a masterpiece that I must talk about.
The Mastermind: Nathan "Nate" Ford is the brain of the group. He's an ex-Insurance employee who got fucked over by said insurance company when they refused to pay for his son's medical fees (something I'm sure many US citizens can relate to). He ends up having to work with criminals he has previously hunted down before, which gives him a good overall knowledge of how they all work while his time in the insurance company explains why he knows so many scams.
Despite being the "token good guy" in the first season, I'd say he's the most interesting at first. He's a self destructive genius with a terrible alcohol problem, and that alcohol storyline is just so beautifully handled in the first 2 seasons, I was completely hooked. Starting season 3 the line between honest man and criminal blurs though, as it should considering his activities for the past couple years, so he lost my interest just a bit. Still a very strong character with amazing storylines and a terrible personality.
Among the Found Family Trope, he is the depressed alcoholic father who pushes his kids too far but would still do everything to make sure they come home safe. His arc is literally going from deadbeat dad to the dad that steps up.
The Hacker: Alec Hardison is an early 20 years old sassy chatty black kid who, not content of being one hell of a hacker, is also an amazing grifter who picks up skills on the fly. While the sassy chatty hacker who is the comic relief of the show is a common trope, he's one hell of a charming character who will weaponise everything he has underhand to get away with stuff. Absolute kudos to his actor who was also in his early 20s at the time who regularly offer some of the best performances ever seen on TV. I swear that guy is too good.
His introduction depicts all that in seconds. He's the first thief to appear, already talking his head off and giving his opinion on the technology he's been given for the job. His introductory flashback is interesting as it doesn't show him in the middle of hacking, but instead getting caught by police having fun in a hotel room he stole and giving a Star Wars reference. Just from both of those you flag him as a young easy-going guy who still messes up a bunch.
In the Found Family Trope, he is the youngest child who messes up a lot. He has the most obvious father/child undertone with Nate, and an equally obvious bigger/younger sibling undertone with Eliot.
The Hitter: Eliot Spencer is a thirty something years old man whose job is keeping the rest of the gang safe. When it comes to the hardened ex-military trope, you expect scary brooding man who always avoids being hit while getting rid of his opponents in seconds. That's not quite the case with Eliot. Yes, he gives off scary and brooding vibes, but he actually has the biggest heart of the gang. He's regularly shown being the one who worries the most for others, and there's an ongoing thing about him being the defacto person to go to get help help when you're 18 and under. Eliot has an incredible amount of screentime being soft and helping/protecting children.
Not only that, Eliot isn't some kind of super soldier. He gets hit. A lot. But the point is that he always gets back on his feet to continue the fight. His hitter prowesses come more from the fact that he has a lot of knowledge in the matter, rather than from being a perfect fighter. He also has an underlying theme with self-control and anger issues. Eliot is a character that is constantly annoyed/angry, and who uses fighting as a self-regulating tool.
On top of all that, he's also a good grifter who, when not there to hit people, is there to hit on girls. He's regularly used as eye candy to keep the attention away from the others. He's also (not so) surprisingly low key. Eliot is often described as "hiding his game well", his opponents often underestimating him.
Eliot is the second thief to appear on screen, being asked by Hardison what exactly was his job here and not answering, nailing in the "low key" aspect of him that confuses his opponents. It's reinforced by his introductory flashback which has him sipping coffee while having guns pointed at him, then cutting to the outside of the room so we don't see his skill in action, then back to the room where he's still sipping his coffee, unfazed, while everybody else is K.O. The last part of his introduction comes when he finally shows what he is capable of, appearing out of nowhere to put out of commission several guards who hold Hardison at gunpoint, to which he finally answer to Hardison earlier question of what exactly he was here for, with a smile. That's where you start getting a glimpse of his softer side that is entirely focused on keeping his team safe.
In the Found Family Trope, he is the eldest son. He bullies Hardison at least once per episode (and Hardison fucks him over about as many times too), and is the one who, with Sophie, keeps Nate in check so that he doesn't go overboard. Nate and Eliot have a lot in common and while they are rarely clashing, there is definitely a tension between them.
The Thief: Parker is a (most likely autistic (edit: she is indeed autistic, it's canon)) young woman who loves money and throwing herself off of buildings. She starts off as quirky/weird/off putting until we (and the main gang) start to understand her. She is both the most obvious and the most complex character of the bunch, who unabashedly loves what she does and has a lot of fun with her new partners, all the while having absolutely no idea how to handle interpersonal relationships.
She is the one that grows the most during the show, picking up skills left and right (fighting from Eliot, grifting from Sophie, etc), developing her interpersonal skills and empathy, learning to rely on others and falling in love. Her evolution is just the best and she never gives up her whimsy while developing.
She's the third thief to appear on screen, but she's actually the first one being mentioned! Nate tells his client that "Parker is crazy" before agreeing to take the job. She appears hanging upside down from a rafter, interrupting the boys to ask playfully if she can have an earpiece too, and finally jumping off the building with a joyful yell before Nate can give the go. Then in her introductory flashback, we see her as a young kid, with a terrible family situation, literally blowing up her house after her "father" dared her to become a better thief to get the bunny plushie she wanted. And so you know Parker is the wild card of the team who is actually pretty forthright once you've pinpointed her interests.
In the Found Family Trope, she's the middle child who has... whatever is going on with Hardison and Eliot. While the boys have more obvious family interactions with Nate (the father), Parker mainly has them with Sophie (the mom) who teaches her the most out of everybody. Nate still regularly is there to explain things to her when she's confused, and Eliot teaches her how to bully Hardison (lovingly of course).
The Grifter: Sophie Devereaux is an actress that the gang fetches when their client fucks them over. It's a bit hard to depict her personality like the others because her whole theme is that she has identity issues. As a grifter she has many identities, and she plays them so often that she comes to forget who she even is in the first place. She's a quick witted, caring person who helps tempering Nate and coming up with plans, she's a femme fatale who either seduces or instills fear in her preys, she's the one who puts at ease the clients who come ask the group for help, she's the one who comes up with on the spot solutions when something goes awry and needs an immediate fix, she's the one always at the forefront of the plans keeping the attention on her so the others can do their jobs, etc etc. Sophie is everything and nothing all at once, which makes her a fascinating character that is difficult to explain properly.
She's the last thief to appear on screen, being brought by Nate. She's introduced as a terrible actress, all three thieves being appalled by her prestation on stage while Nate is smiling wildly. Then we get a glimpse of the romantic tension between her and Nate when he asks her for help, and another glimpse at their closeness when the three thieves turn to her when Nate confuses them, only for Sophie to tell them he really hasn't changed. Her introductory flashback focuses on her stealing a painting, being intercepted by Nate, and them both firing at each other. Finally the last part of her introduction comes when she shows off her actual acting talents while grifting the bad guy, startling Hardison who was still worried about her acting skills.
Sophie is introduced with her acting skills and her relationship with Nate instead of her personality or quirks like the other (the only quirk here being that she's a terrible actress on stage but an excellent one when she's grifting), which keeps nailing down her identity crisis.
Since we're on Sophie, I'd like to point out how well the writing team handled the actress being pregnant and needing to stay away from the show for a while. Her reason for being away tapped into her identity crisis, but she still was there to give advices to the others, mainly the "kids". While it was obvious in one episode that they placed the characters and angled the camera to avoid showing she was pregnant, the rest was handled beautifully well.
The show seems very respectful of its actors, to the point it lets them showcase their skills in season 3 like Hardison and Eliot's actors' music prowesses. It also allows them to shine in the filler episodes by having them play other roles, to which they deliver amazing performances (especially Hardison's actor. I'll never shut up about him, he's just perfect).
And yes, that was the time when we still had filler episodes! And they are GREAT! Some of my favorite episodes are filler episodes, like one where the whole gang go over a theft they all accidentally did together years ago, constantly fucking each other over without realising, all from their own perspectives. There are jabs at each other, like Sophie's accent or Eliot being a ladykiller and a terrifying psychopath, but there's also an insane amount of details scattered. One of my favorite being that everybody else saw the head of security carrying a rifle while Eliot was the only one (save Nate) to see it as only a box. It's a minor background detail that the show doesn't even point out, but when I caught it I got super invested in the episode. At first I believed it was because Eliot hates guns and sees them as sticks to beat people up with, but with the last perspective being shown with the "truth", it turned out Eliot was the only one seeing it as a box because it was a box. Eliot would be attuned to the amount of danger the objects around him would pose, and so wouldn't mix up a box for a gun. Once more, it's a background detail but it just ended convincing me that the showrunners care a lot about this show.
Ok I'm officially out of fumes. I think I could go into more if I dove into the actual episodes but I don't want to spoil more than I already did. All in all, great show, handles heavy stuff like addiction and grief and neurodivergency incredibly well without being condescending, scratches a hitch by fucking over powerful people in the most horrendous ways, makes you aware of the kind of scams there are around, etc etc.
It's just one hell of a good show. 10/10 would recommend. I only wish the 5 seasons box set wasn't so expensive, I can't throw that much money in it ToT
ONE LAST THING! If you wanna watch, the seasons are all available on Youtube (US only, get your VPN ready if you're not from there) in the RIGHT ORDER! The first season was aired out of order by the network so you will probably find it in the wrong order online too. It's not much since each episode is mostly contained, but it did make me pause at one point because of consistency issues.
Season 1 link
Season 2 link
Season 3 link
Season 4 link (careful, the Playlist starts with the last episode and finishes with the first. You gotta reverse the order of the Playlist!)
Season 5 link (careful, the Playlist starts with the last episode and finishes with the first. You gotta reverse the order of the Playlist!)
Redemption S1 link (careful, the Playlist starts with the last episode and finishes with the first. You gotta reverse the order of the Playlist!)

My Top 10 Batgirl (2000) Moments
This is my list of top 10 Batgirl (2000) moments!! There were so many to choose from, but these are my personal favs :)). Counting down from 10 to my absolute favourite.
10. Volving
An absolute classic. Perfectly encapsulates what Cass does throughout the entire run, and more writers should play with Cass' use of language like this!
9. Beat Up Every Mob In Gotham
Perfect encapsulation of the early Barbara-Cass dynamic, and one of the funniest moments in the series. Just love the expressions and the way this shows so much of Cass' character.
8. Choosing to Write
The entirety of issue #2 builds up to this heart-wrenching moment. After delivering a dead man's final message to his wife, Cass sees the wife's reaction to the written message and decides to learn to write. A foundational moment for her character, and a nice motherly Babs scene too.
7. Alpha Redemption
Capping off issues 35 + 36, Batgirl unmasks herself to convince Alpha (an amnesiac villain) that he doesn't have to be defined by his past. Brilliantly displays her core belief that people can change, and the fact that her belief pays off makes this moment extremely moving.
6. For God's Sake
Possibly a controversial pick, but I really like this moment because it underscores some of the fundamental conflict between Babs and Cass. They love each other, but they don't always understand each other, particularly in regards to each other's disabilities. A painful moment that should have been explored more.
5. Fight For Your Life
My favourite Stephanie and Cass moment in this run. You can feel Cass' grief throughout this hallucination, but there's also so much hope and love (for Stephanie and for herself). It's an amazing conclusion to Cass' initial suicidal tendencies: instead of desiring death, she now actively fights to live.
4. Darknight Detectives
This interaction sums up a lot of Bruce and Cass' best moments. Cass' unwavering moral beliefs, Bruce's pride, their instinctive understanding of each other; they just get each other in a way few others do. I picked this one instead of the 'instinct/good answer' moment because it also marks Cass' development in her detective ability. From Moment 8 above to here, the confidence in her mental capacities has grown so much. She really volved!
3. Perfect For A Year
I mean of course this had to be here. These lines literally take up 90% of my brain space, it's an incredibly tense moment that illustrates Cass' desire to be perfect, her need to be useful and good. This issue is also just awesome.
2. You're... Not
Another absolute classic. Illustrates Cass' compassion and her belief that people aren't defined by their lineage, which is particularly personal to her, given her own dad. This struggle between good/bad, parent/child defines many of Cass' best stories.
1. Who Do You Think You Are? + Father's Day
What else would number 1 be?? Issue 33 is my favourite in the entire run, and the entire thing is stacked with moments that could fill up this list. I just love 'who do you think you are' because it's all of Cass' rage spilling out, and yet she still loves David Cain in her own complicated way (and he reciprocates, too). Then we have the ending, which is the BEST Bruce and Cass moment ever. The sparse, meaningful dialogue, the expressions, the reveal of the TITLE: comic book writing at its finest.
Honorary mention to the Shiva/Cass fight, which just narrowly missed out.

What am I doing in the year of our lord 2025 drawing Junjou Romantica fanart
Goodness me, I got into JJR back in 2008 when the anime aired and then I got into the manga that same year. At the time, I wasn't really drawing people, I was drawing animals, but I was OBSESSED with this yaoi with my whole heart and wanted so badly to draw fanart for it. So now here it is! 17 years in the making! Btw, trying to interpret anime hair logic with my style is easier said than done, but I did my best lol. All just colored sketches and then some scribbles for funsies.
But I definitely have some complicated feelings about this manga/anime. More below the cut (its A LOT, I'm so sorry).
JJR was one of the first yaois I ever got into, and back in 2008 when I didn't realize being gay was an option, this silly little manga/anime felt like an escape for me. Well, it's now 17 years later and upon rereading this manga (I still have volume 1-12, I could never get rid of them, they mean to much to me) I realize that it has aged POORLY.
This yaoi is definitely a product of its time (2002/2003) and it SHOWS. I find myself disappointed in the dynamic between Usagi-san and Misaki and wish that Misaki would show Usagi-san SOME sort of affection outside of the bare minimum (cooking and cleaning for Usagi) and Usagi definitely has some... Issues of his own. Now, I'm an adult, and I can see that consensual non-consent (CNC) can be fun and exciting for a couple (you know, if agreed upon beforehand), and it can be fun for your partner to initiate things out of the blue, but Usagi definitely toes the line of what that is. Now, I know that this was the early 2000s and yaoi relationships tended to have that dynamic (One being the seme who didn't listen to "no" and the uke who said "no" constantly but actually secretly liked what was happening), like I said, this series is definitely a product of its time. But I don't know man, its not fun (for me) reading sex scenes where one of them is constantly telling the other one to stop over and over again. (I also think it'd be cute as fuck if Usagi-san asked Misaki if he could kiss him and Misaki shyly said yes instead of yelling at him like he always does).
I even went online to read up to volume 27, but all I can express is that same disappointment. Misaki rarely even likes to acknowledge that he's in love with Usagi-san, or is dating the man, or even likes him (it seems to be only under duress that he admits these things STILL. IN 2022 when that volume was released!)
I wish there had been more character development in the years since I stopped reading the manga, I wish we could see Misaki and Usagi-san acting like they actually like each other outside of when they have sex (yes there are small moments between the two, and a bickering couple can be a fun dynamic, but dear lord lets shake things up A LITTLE. I'M BEGGING).
Lets not even get started on the sketchyness that is (at the start of the manga) a 28 year old falling in love with an 18 year old (And we're not even going to TALK about Miyagi and Shinobu) -don't bring up the age of consent in Japan, I do NOT wanna hear it-.
Listen, I'm 29, and I would NEVER even DREAM about dating an 18 year old (or 19 year old) at my age. (Fuck, the youngest I'll date is MAYBE 23 but even THATS pushing it for me).
All of that to say is that I still can't help but have an extreme soft spot for this series, and there are still moments that I love from this (Volume 9, the Christmas chapter, am I right? Gets me EVERY time), and fuck, Shungiku Nakamura is probably still making bank with this series so who the fuck am I to say anything lol. I'm just a rando online with an opinion, you don't have to agree, and you can think that whatever Misaki and Usagi have is fuckin' AWESOME. I'm just an old fart
But, I dunno, I think it'd be interesting to explore Misaki's internalized homophobia, and Misaki slowly but surely growing more and more comfortable with not only accepting Usagi-san's affections and even reciprocating and initiating on his own, but also accepting HIMSELF and being happy with who he is instead of the constant self shame he puts himself through for being with a man. Let's be so real, he is gay, he can't stop looking at other attractive men and FAWNING over how hot they are (Nowaki, Todo, Injuin Sensei, the list goes on).
But who am I to complain, I went and drew fanart of these two anyway. Rock, meet glass house.
Unrelated, I love the art style in volume 3-6 a lot because its very "late 90s early 2000s" art and I think the art peaked in volume 9. And now its unpeaking. Bring back Usagi-san's yaoi chin so help me god.
I do have yaoi I prefer over this one a lot more, and involve older couples (which I find that I prefer), and have fun, cute stories. If anyone has read this far and wants those recs, lemme know (dear god I'm so sorry, this has gone on so long.)
Anyway I do want to redraw some of the sex scenes and post it to my bluesky.

After a good night's sleep, I think I can better solidify my thoughts in regards to the Dragon Age trailer.
First, let's start with the positives:
- Companion diversity: This has always been part of the series' DNA that has been clearly depicted with every iteration, so those who cry foul over "Asian & Black elves", prosthethics, etc etc...I really don't get that, because values and sensibilities evolve over time. Even the series itself has course corrected when needed, eg. Player character creation influencing the family ethnicity of the Couslands in DA:O vs the Hawkes in DA2.
- Unlocked romances: Letting players choose whoever they want to romance regardless of their sexuality and race has always been a positive for me. Allowing everyone to enjoy the experience equally is great (and I'm sure the nuances of player race & gender will be addressed through dialogue and banter). Moreover, CRPGs are long and time-consuming, so to be locked out of character romances mid-way through is never going to be a good time (from personal experience and observing fandom in the past).
Now the negatives:
- Maybe it's me being on the older side of the Bioware fandom (15 years in Dragon Age, 20 years if you count older games like KotOR and Jade Empire), but I cringed very hard watching the trailer. If you followed the development of this game in the past decade, the cancelled live service element that was to be DA4 in one of its iterations was so all over the way the companions were introduced that it brought out a visceral reaction in me. The tonal whiplash from how foreboding Dreadwolf was presented in the past to the patronising happy quippy MEET OUR LITTLE GUYS YOU'RE SURE TO LOVE also did not help as a first concrete look of what to expect after all this time (also poor anachronistic choice of soundtrack when you already have Trevor Morris' compositions right there). I was so dismayed when they went with a looter-shooter-esque lighthearted vibe when they could've leaned hard on the foreboding established mood and momentum they've already got going with Dreadwolf.Â
- The branding switch this late in the game that comes with it, especially one as drastic as this will always come with questions and ambivalence. I feel that mitigating uncertainty from announced changes (party number, combat mechanics, setting and environment, etc) should've have been prioritised to reassure existing and lapsed fans before appealing to new ones in such a jarring way.
-Â I'm simply baffled at the marketing suit who signed off on whatever this is to be their "best foot forward" at reintroducing the final form of this game? If only there were confident with the world they've already built instead of relying on trendy gimmicks, the amount of damage control I'm seeing prior to the gameplay reveal tonight was so avoidable. Controlling the narrative from the get go is so very important especially now as opinions can easily snowball overnight into behemoth-like proportions especially from bad faith actors. You would think that lessons were learned from DA:O's "THIS IS THE NEW SHIT" and DA2's "Press a button, something AWESOME happens" debacles.
(The thing is, despite it being my least favourite DA out of the three, imho Inquisition has the best marketing campaign in the franchise despite the developmental troubles going on in the background. So it has been pulled off successfully before!)
- I think the Bioware layoffs, especially the recent extensive gutting of senior staff in September 2023, significantly depleted my goodwill as a fan. To see Varric being paraded as a mascot in the trailer, game promotion and supplementary media while having his creator unceremoniously let go after years of building the franchise we love left me so very cold. And it's a me problem, but seeing many other fans barely acknowledging that save for few hollow words before getting back into the fun frustrated me so much. I get being excited to finally get something solid after years of false starts, but with what was lost along the way...I personally don't feel right to approach this installment without cynicism.
Idk, I'm just a bundle of conflicted feelings over this series I guess? When it's so good, it's really good and stays with you as memorable gaming experiences that stays with you for life, but when it stumbles and fumbles the bag...it hurts to see.
#dragon age#dragon age critical#I'm not good with words but I'll try to articulate my thoughts anyway#so i can process it out of my system

a/n- idk why im up right now but yay first post of 2025 whoâs hyped?? ik iâve been like mia for a bit but i blame my ps5 for that. also back in school!! awesome (can you tell im crying) lmaooo anyway this is defo gonna be like a mini series so get ready okay lots of love everyone hope you keep up your resolutions if you do em<33
characters- cole brookstone x thief fem!reader
type- eh fluff kinda/enemies to lovers type beat youâll see
warnings- very mild suggestive comments (not proofread)
synopsis- youâre a thief living in the most run down part of ninjago. youâre doing everything you can to make ends meet, but sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and take a gamble. in order to make a little extra cash youâre sent on a mission to steal a very priceless artifactâthe most high risk heist youâve ever been on. you encounter a certain ninja during your outing and you just canât help yourself to a little bit of fun upon meeting him. will he let you go? will you succeed in recovering the artifact? or will it be your head on the line instead?
word count- 3.1k
Being poor was okay. Obviously, it wasnât the ideal spot to be in, and sure youâd prefer to have money and not have to worry about whether or not you would be able to feed yourself tomorrow but you canât have it all, can you?
Everybody thought Ninjago was the most gorgeous cityâclearly theyâve never visited your side of town. You personally didnât think it was an awful place to live, but it definitely isn't what people would expect out of the great ninjago city.
Nevertheless, it was home. Well, home since your parents died and you were left to fend for yourself. Technically, your mother died during childbirth, or shortly after. You didnât really like to ask your father about it. It seemed insensitive.
The loss of your father was more recently caused by an unsuspected illness you didnât have the funds to get treated. You lost him seven years ago, and you miss both of them immensely, even if you never knew your motherâshe still held a place in your heart, and your blood.
Plus, it wasnât as if you were completely alone. The loss of your parents and your home only hindered your spirit for a few months. But eventually, you had to grow up. You had only yourself now, and you needed to start getting your shit together.
Thatâs how you found yourself living in a narrow alley with nothing but a few blankets to separate yourself from the hard concrete, and a tarp above your head held up by hopes and dreams in case it rained. Courtesy of a girl youâd met three years agoâHenley.
You did what you had to to survive, the both of you did, but your version of âworkâ was a tad more illegal than Henleyâs. While your friend chose to work at some manufacturing factory that paid maybe ten cents an hour, you quickly developed the skill of âsoft hands.â
Just a little something you picked up in the few years before befriending Henley. Plus, living where you did at the time, it was customary for your father to teach you martial arts, and teach he did. He often pushed you to your limits, making sure your senses were always on high alert.
Though now you supposed you were grateful for it. It made it easy to navigate the crowded streets of Uriâthe poorer side of Ninjago that most people decided to ignore.
The early morning sun beat down on you, somehow finding its way around the tarp above your head.
Groaning you rolled over, hoping to block out the rays and catch a few more hours of sleep.
âMorning,â Henley yawned from beside you.
You mumbled incoherently back at her.
âIâve gotta get going, work starts soon,â Henley told you. You heard her scooting closer towards you.
âWhy dâyou work at that shithole?â You grumbled, still not fully awake. âThey barely pay you, Henley.â
You could practically see the expression on her freckled face. She was most likely staring down at you with a torn and somewhat somber expression.
âItâs the only place that would hire me,â she muttered. âYou know that.â
Squeezing your eyes tight you then sat up, stretching out your back. Upon opening your eyes you came to find out your assumption was correct.
âYeah,â you nod. âWhich is bullshit by the way. Any web company would be lucky to have you.â
Henley shrugged a shoulder. âWell, beggars canât be choosers.â
âThen itâs a good thing we havenât stooped that low,â you reassured her. You left the unspoken yet out of the sentence.
Henley smiled, brushing back her mane of curly red hair. âOkay, now I really need to go. Please, be safe today, and try not to get caught. I really donât know if I can stomach breaking you out of jail again.â
âIn my defense,â you said as she stood to leave. âThere may have been some alcohol behind the reason that asshole caught up to me.â
Henley fixed you with a look that said, Good luck, before she looked up and down the already busy streets and made her way to the factory.
You gave yourself a few more minutes before heading out onto the streets. As usual, Uri was already busy at like eight a.m on a weekday. Stall owners were yelling at anyone passing by as if the volume would persuade people to stop and buy a useless trinket they didnât need.
Still rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you wove through people, fluid like a leaf in the wind. It was almost too easy to nick peopleâs wallets this way. In Uri it was almost impossible to walk anywhere without brushing shoulders with someone. Lucky for you, the jacket you wore held many pockets to store your âfindsâ on the street.
After palming a few wallets on your way to possibly the best looking building in this part of town, you opened them up to find nothing much. Out of all the wallets you lifted, you got a whopping thirty dollars.
See that was the issue with living in a poor neighborhoodâeveryone you stole from was also poor. Not a great match unfortunately.
Sighing, you made your way towards the tallest building in Uri. It also just happened to be where youâd pick up a way to make some extra cash on the days that were really slow. Just from waking up this morning you knew today would be one of them.
The only issue is, the jobs youâre given are risky, and so you try not to do them as often.
The guards posted outside of the doors let you through without any issues. At this point youâd been coming here sporadically for about five and a half years. You were the best and most reliable thief Malina had.
A few doors, some hallways, and an elevator later, you stood in front of the woman herself.
Malina stared at you with a victorious glint in her eyes, her head resting on her intertwined fingers. âAnd here I thought you broke up with me.â
âAh, you know me,â you shrugged, shoving your hands into the pockets of your jacket. âAlways cominâ back.â
âNow that I can always rely on.â Malina leaned back in her big leather chair, one long leg crossed over the other.
Malina was the only successful business owner in this Uri. Shockingly, she got most of her wealth from illegal schemes and black market dealings. Which is why she needed you.
Malian didnât waste any time in throwing down a file on top of her spotless desk.
âItâs all in there,â she waved a gloved hand, her diamond bracelet twinkling in the light of her office.
You reached for the file and flipped it open to survey its contents. Your eyes widened as you continued further and further down the papers clipped together. This job was impossible.
Usually, nothing is impossible for you. However, in the past Malina only ever had you stealing jewels from old guys on their deathbed, or artwork from museums, and sometimes some random priceless artifact guarded in an equally random warehouse.
Apparently this time she really wanted to put you to the test.
âThis is a joke,â you said, flipping the file shut.
âHow so?â Malina asked, dark brows furrowed in innocence.
âLook, you give me work, and Iâve always appreciated that,â you told her honestly. âBut stealing from the Royal Family is my one way ticket to a lifetime in prison.â
Malina pouted at you. âAnd here I thought my star employee never got caught.â
You scoffed out a laugh, tongue in your cheek as you looked up to the heavens for patience.
When she didnât back down you finally spoke. âWhat else you got for me?â
âUnfortunately,â Malina said, though her tone didnât suggest she found it anywhere near unfortunate, âthatâs it.â
âBullshit,â you challenged.
Malina raised her hands. âIâm serious! Workâs been booming lately.â
Crossing your arms, you rolled your eyes. The two of you stood unspeaking, staring at each other as you weighed your options.
On the plus side, if you did this job successfully, you and Henley might be able to afford an actual apartment. A shitty one, but it was better than the alley. Plus, you might also be able to afford the first few months of rent before you get a real job and force Henley to quit hers at the factory.
Closing your eyes you reluctantly agreed. âFine. Iâll do it.â
Malinaâs grin widened into an eerie expression, her pearly white teeth shone almost as bright as the diamonds around her wrist. âI knew you would. Clothes are in their usual place.â
You nodded and spun on your heel, hightailing it out of Malinaâs office. Thankfully, ever since you all but pledged your loyalty to her, sheâd provide you with some living essentials occasionally. Things like showers, a hairbrush, basic needs like that.
But when she sent you out on a mission, she made sure you were set up for success, and the rest was on you. Opening the wooden wardrobe at the end of the hall, you were greeted with the familiar sight of the dark clothing you typically wore on outings such as these.
You picked the uniform off the hanger and quickly found the nearest room to change in. Even though you wouldnât be leaving until nightfall, you still would rather put it on now as it helped you even in Uri. With the hood and mask covering the bottom half of your face, the only thing you could really make out was your hair and eyes.
You spent most of the day on the roof tops, going over the blueprints of the palace Malina provided for you, along with the guard rotations. Pacing along the edge of an old rundown building, you slowly came up with a plan. Though, the object you had been assigned to steal was a bit odd. You expected jewels, or even the crown, but instead you were sent after a golden hourglass, with equally golden sand inside.
You didnât know the properties or importance of the object, but to be honest, you didnât really care. You just wanted to get the job done and over with so you could return home and finally place a roof over your head after seven years of sleeping under the open sky.
As soon as the sun set beyond the city, you set out. Of course, you left Henley a note explaining you might not be back tonightâand that you might not be back at allâbut you assured her not to worry.
It took a while to get to the good part of town, but a few subway trains later, you finally made it. And what a difference it was.
Instead of yelling and aggressive haggling, there was light chatter, laughter, and the buzz of technology reverberating around you. Not to mention the colors. Almost every sign in Ninjago was neon, and sometimes you couldnât help but get a little sidetracked looking at all the beautiful things youâd never get to experience yourself.
Eventually, you found yourself by the palace. Fishing out the timetable of the guard rotations, you determined that the east side of the castle would be the most unprotected in about two minutesâmeaning you had to be quick.
Quick you were. You managed to get to the east side and scale the wall in a minute and thirty. Tiptoeing around the outer wall, you made sure to keep your eyes on the guards below. So far, none of them noticed you.
Finally, you landed on the tiled roof. By memorization, the hourglass would be located in a mostly open room on the top floor. Carefully maneuvering around the roof, making sure to not make too much noise, you managed to unlock the window and pull it open.
Thankfully, it didnât make much noise. Letting out an internal sigh of relief, you quickly tied a rope on one of the support pillars of the palace and threw it over the side of the window. Directly below the window was an obnoxiously large potted plant that would do well to hide you from view.
You briefly wondered if youâd be able to climb back up with rope one handed, but instead you figured you could bring a cord to secure the hourglass onto your belt loop.
As usual, you landed on the red wood floors without a sound. As much as you wished to stick around and admire the impressive castle youâd only ever seen in newspapers, you had a job to do.
Heart hammering, you peeked around the plant to find two guardsâboth with their back towards you.
It feels almost too easy, you thought as you crept towards the hourglass displayed on a pedestal.
Once you got close enough, you took a few moments to inspect the pedestal. There was a very possible chance of the hourglass being placed upon a weighted pressure plate that would set off the emergency alarms if removed, but after looking at it, the stone surface looked entirely even. There most likely wasnât any extra security around this artifact, but in the off chance there was, youâd have to be ready to run.
Calming your mind, you swiped it quickly, preferring to take it and bolt in case the alarms went off.
You got three strides in before your luck ran out. All around you alarms had started blaring, alerting every guard on the premises. However, by that point you had already tied the glass around your waist and were ascending the rope.
You could vaguely make out the alarmed voices of the guards chasing after you, and as soon as you heaved yourself onto the roof, you sliced the rope with the knife in your boot. Two thuds and pained grunts were all you heard before you bolted.
Guards were climbing up at every point, but what they had in size and brute strength, you had in speed and agility. Being quick on your feet was like second natureâand you really should send a letter to the Royal Family to invest in some guards. These ones werenât all that good at their job.
You hoped over them in groups, and it felt like you knew the palace layout better than they did. You knew exactly where to step and when to step, that by the time you landed on the other side of the walls, you knew you had one.
You grinned and laughed triumphantly as you jumped across the rooftops. The guards got further and further away and you blame the adrenaline in your veins for what happened next.
Suddenly, something tangled itself around your ankles, sending you tumbling to the concrete of an apartment complex.
âSon of aââ you winced, cradling the wrist you had landed on at an awkward angle.
Sitting up quickly, you reached for the rope wrapped around your ankles when a boot beat you to it.
âI donât think that belongs to you,â the stranger spoke.
Looking up slowly, you mentally cursed yourself at the figure standing above you.
The Earth Ninja.
Why the hell were they at the palace? Why did they care about some petty robbery, wasnât there some maniac trying to destroy the world that they should be busy with at the moment?
âWhat? The outfit? It doesnâtâborrowed from a friend.â You leaned back on your palms, looking up at the Earth Ninjaâs strikingly gorgeous face.
He wasnât wearing his mask tonight, leaving all his features on displayâbrown eyes that you guessed were a gorgeous shade of hazel in the light, shaggy but well kept hair as dark as the sky above, and a build that could rival the strength of an ox.
Cocking your head, you pushed your hood back and mask down, letting him see your roaming eyes and approving smirk.
âI need that.â He pointed to the golden hourglass at your hip. Apparently he didnât find your jokes very funny.
âNo, I need it,â you countered. âHow else am I supposed to keep track of the time? I donât have a watch.â
You shoved your hands up, rotating your wrists spastically to emphasize your point.
The Earth Ninja leaned down, but you didnât back down. âJust hand over the glass, and Iâll tell them you dropped it trying to flee.â
You too leaned towards him, the both of you so close your noses were almost touching. In the ninjaâs favor, his expression didnât falter.
âI told you, I need it.â
âAnd I gave you an ultimatum,â the ninja returned, his eyes hardening. âDonât make this more difficult than it has to be.â
âAw, but whereâs the fun in that?â You smirked with a wink.
You saw his facade crack slightly as he twitched back every so slightly. That was all the hesitation you needed.
As the two of you went back and forth, you had been discreetly severing the rope binding your legs, and you quickly wrapped them around his waist, flipping him over onto his back. The Earth Ninja landed with a harsh exhale. You leaped off of him quickly before he could counter your surprise attack.
He was a ninja, and you knew there was no way youâd be able to beat him at hand to hand combat, but you could avoid him. Your thought was proven when he was back on his feet and into a fighting stance a split second after you created distance between you and him.
The Earth Ninja raised a curious brow at you over his raised fists. âWho are you?â
âFunny I was about to ask the same thing,â you laughed. âBut, I think Iâve got something that could help me out with thatâCole L. Brookstoneâwhatâs the L for? Oh well, six-foot five inches, black hair, two hundred and ten poundsââ you broke off looking him up and down. âWell you certainly donât look over two hundred.â
Coleâs eyes widened as he lunged for you, and the wallet in your hand. You jumped back from him easily and continued to read off his driver's license.
âHazel eyes, nineteen years oldâoh cute weâre the same ageââ
âGive it back!â He demanded, reaching for you again, only for you to slide under his legs and appear behind him.
âBorn on October 25thââ another attempt to grab you had you using the rope previously used on you against him, binding his wrists, and legs making him fall on his ass.
You then hopped onto the roof of the entrance hallway of the building, and sat on the edge, legs swinging in front of you.
You continued to flip through his wallet, âRestaurant receiptâyou know you donât have to keep those. Lifetime subway pass, oh you lucky bastard. Gift card youâve probably had for three years, credit cardâvery shiny, one fifty in cash andââ you paused upon seeing the last item in his standard leather wallet.
Sliding your eyes down to the boy your age, you raised a brow at him, almost laughing at his red face you could see even in the dark.
âWhy do you have a condom in your wallet?â You giggled.
Cole momentarily stopped struggling against the rope and had the decency to look away, embarrassed.
âEmergencies,â he grumbled, glaring up at you.
âAh, right,â you sucked air through your teeth before tossing it back down on his lap.
Flexing his arms, he snapped the ropes like they were ribbons and did the same with the ones binding his legs.
âSo, it seems we're at an impasse,â you sighed.
âNo,â he stood, âweâre not.â
âAu contraire, youâll never catch me. You had your shot, and you blew it.â You pointed at him accusingly. âIâm sure youâve noticed by now that Iâm very slippery. And I assure youâyou chase, and Iâll run, and I can keep running for a damn long time.â
It would become a game of cat and mouse you knew would go on forever.
âSurely you donât expect me to just let you walk away with a priceless artifact from the Royal Family.â Cole crossed his arms.
âExactlyâimpasse.â
The stubborn boy shook his head, black waves flopping. âNo, Iââ
Before he could finish his sentence, the dart was already buried into his arm.
Cole startled, looking down at the tiny metal needle sticking out of his right bicep. He gave you an unimpressed look before reaching with his other hand to pluck it from his body. However, his hand was halfway there when it went limp by his side.
Coleâs brown eyes went wide as his legs too started to wobble, and shortly after the rest of his body gave away.
He once again landed on the ground with a dull thud.
Smiling slightly you gracefully jumped down from your perch and made your way over to him to retrieve your dart.
âWhat the hell is that?â He asked through gritted teeth.
âJust a numbing sedative,â you responded, pocketing it. âDonât worry itâll wear off in like an hour.â
âAn hour? Hell no, help me up.â
âHmm, tempting,â you deadpanned, but you did prop his back up against the wall of the roof in a sitting position.
Cole glared at you, and you smirked back.
âI enjoyed our little game of cat and mouse my friend,â you patted his cheek before standing to full height. âBut Iâm afraid I must be going. Places to be, money to be madeâyou know how it is.â
âHey! Wait!â Cole called to your retreating back.
But you didnât. Instead you leapt down to the adjacent roof and all but skipped back to Uri, happy that you werenât caught, but you werenât entirely mad about meeting the Earth Ninja either. Secretly, you hoped he'd track you downâwhere round two of your game would take place.

Hot take from your local bisexual:
I don't like the idea that a bisexual character (canon or not) can't be bisexual. What the fuck do I mean by this? Let me give you an example!
Let's take fanon bisexual Steve Harrington, right? We know canonically that he's dated Nancy Wheeler and has gone on dates with other girls before. Cool, great! Maybe his bisexuality is a new development, meaning that he's been able to connect some dots and make some realizations, you know how it goes.
Why is it, then, that if Steve goes to...I don't know...Eddie, with a love confession on his tongue, that his want to date Eddie is suddenly seen as *gasp* an experimentation?! Really?! Does it have to be that he's experimenting for recently coming to some developments? Does every gay man think this way or something? Does every lesbian think this way when it comes to a woman approaching them? I just don't get it, I guess.
Like, sure. I guess I can see that maybe Eddie's confused why Steve is approaching him of all people. Considering Steve's dating history, sure. But, like, when Steve confirms his crush, that must light up some bulb in Eddie's brain, right? It takes a lot of guts to ask somebody of the same sex out romanticallyâespecially considering the time period Stranger Things takes place in! Steve would be risking a lot to ask Eddie out, most likely, that has to mean something!
Or. There's another cool thing I see, too.
Oh, Steve has an attraction towards Nancy? Oh, that can't be...he's attracted to Eddie or Billy or Tommy or whatever other man you can think of.
WHAT?! Suddenly, a bisexual person can't be attracted to the opposite sex, are you kidding???? If they want to date a person of the opposite sex, that doesn't mean that their sexuality just suddenly goes away! That's now how that works! They're still bisexual, they're just dating a person of the opposite sex! They are allowed to have a dating history that does not involve the same sex! They are allowed to be bisexual and never date somebody of the same sex! They are allowed to just be bisexual with no prerequisites and no ultimatums! And, and, another hot take! They should still be allowed into queer spaces, even with their opposite sex partner on their arm, because get thisâthey're queer!
It's so weird to me that people are so set in stone that there's a binary when it comes to sexual or romantic desire. It's so fucking weird to me. Like, no, guys. That's not how that works. There are people who can like all or both or none or whatever! Fuck the labels, you can love who you want, guys! It's not that complicated!
Oh, Steve's straight, but he has a crush on Eddie? But he hasn't exhibited crushes on other men? That must mean he's just straight, right?! WRONG! He doesn't have a label, whatever, but he still is crushing on Eddieâlet him crush on Eddie or whatever other male character you want him to crush on!
He's not experimenting when it comes to same sex relationships. And he's not straight for wanting to be in an opposite sex relationship. He is just dating. He is just loving as he sees fit.
I don't get why this is, like, a constant debate for people. Or why the "experimenting" trope is so common! It's biphobic!!!
You want my honest take on the trope?!
It's biphobia at its finest! You erase bisexual identities when you write these tropes! You erase my identity by writing these tropes. Sure, let me be honest, I've written the trope a couple timesâfor nuance, for criticizing purposes. But to be so serious about the trope, so set in stone that that's how it works, it's just strange. It's bigotry.
"Oh, but [insert identity of people] didn't exist in the 1980s."
Fuckin' what?! Anybody existed in the 1980s. That's the thing about existing, guys, you just sorta exist. As you are. As you will be. If you're straight, cool. If you're bisexual, awesome. If you're asexual, cool beans.
Erasing an identity for the sake of a plot or for the sake of another trope or to assist angst is just weird to me. The only way I can see you properly "erasing" an identity is by using the trope, only to have the affected character speak out about the bigotry! Like Steve calling Eddie out on his one-tracked mind and the way he stomps out Steve's feelings as if he can't feel them. As if he isn't allowed to explore or be or whatever.
That's kind of important, too. You're allowed to explore. Just don't use people. Don't use people, that's not cool. But you should be allowed to figure out whether or not you want something, or that you are somethingâyou want permission, here it is! Go find yourself, but don't let anybody defer what you can and cannot be. People dictating your identity is simply bigotry.
It's ass backwards, these tropes about how a character can't be a certain way. Whether it be asexual or bisexual or transgender or lesbian or so on and so forth. Stop feeding the fascism machine and just let others be themselves, even fictional characters, gosh.
#anyway. I'm mad.#bisexual#bisexuality#uhhh gonna tag the fandom and pairing because. yeah. I'm tired of seeing it.#this also applies to jayvik. jayce is allowed to have loved mel and to also have loved viktor. he's not exclusive.#stranger things#steddie#steve harrington#eddie munson#bisexual steve harrington

Yosuke is an awesome character and I need to talk about him, and how heâs a perfect representation of how your ties to a land are your ties to its people.
When we first encounter him in Inaba, heâs a bit of an isolated wreckâhis dad is the manager of Junesâ Yasoinaba chapter, and Yosuke is isolated and mistreated for it, a reason completely outside of his control. When two women see him in his Rank 2, they start talking about how Junes is overtaking and closing down businesses in Inaba. (I could probably do an analysis as to why I think Junes is important to the themes of the story but this is about Yosuke)
As it stood, Saki Konishi and Chie Satonaka were the only two people with a genuinely friendly rapport with him by the time Yu Narukami came to Inaba. (Itâs no wonder he was so distraught over Saki, especially since heâs heavily implied to have become so attached he developed a crush on her.) And Yosuke is used to this isolation. To the point Sakiâs kindness towards him is startling enough that, again, he developed a crush on her. He got that attached to her. And Jiraiya even calls him out on it because heâs repressed and numbed that pain so hard.
And in his Rank 8, heâs actually vulnerable for one of the only times in the game other than the scene with Jiraiya, and doesnât really know how to respond to being met with genuine affection and sympathy. This kid is so isolated he doesnât really know how to react, so⊠he just calls Yu a dumbass.

even ignoring the fact I ship these two this scene is so damn sweet AUGH
When Jiraiya is encountered and we get introduced to Shadow Selves, Jiraiya accuses Yosuke of trying to stop the Midnight Channel Killings because of his boredom. Which understandably upsets Yosuke, since the main reason is really trying to find closure over Sakiâs death. (Again, shadows are not the full person, as much as theyâd like to pretend they are. Theyâre parts of you that are upset about being repressed. Fragments. Theyâre you, but not all of you.) But⊠Jiraiyaâs not lying when he says Yosuke is genuinely bored out of his mind and trying to be a hero. I wonder if a part of the reason Yosuke wants to be a hero is out of desperation to not be so isolated in Inaba. Heâs been demonized by most of Inaba thanks to who his father is, and he had only two friends at this point, and one just got murdered.
Itâs touched upon in Yosukeâs Rank 9, where he tells Yu about the reason for that desire to be a hero. Not just to protect others, but to mean something to someone elseâsomething heâs shown to need, and told by his own repression made sentient he desperately, desperately needsâsomething to get himself out of isolation.
At the point of the confrontation with Jiraiya, Yosuke was pretty detached from Inaba, and Saki (who is now dead) and Chie were his only two reasons to like it, which was the main reason he was so bored, he couldnât find any proper ways to attach. In his Rank 8, he actually talks about how Saki managed to lighten his view of Inaba.

And then he starts to develop more of a friend group. With Yu, becoming closer with Yukiko, befriending Kanji, Teddie, Rise, Naoto, becoming closer with Chie.
And he slowly grows more and more genuinely attached to Inaba. His ties with its residents become stronger and stronger, and thatâs what truly makes him love the can-barely-be-called-a-city of Inaba.
I really want to emphasize those last two lines of dialogue. Thereâs still necessarily nothing in particular to keep him entertained by the city. But the people around him, his support network, who protect him from feeling isolated, who comfort him when heâs being mistreated just for being the managerâs kid when he has no power over that⊠these people, who heâs allowed to be vulnerable with and lean on, to hug and have a friendly brawl with, people he can laugh with and exchange little things they both like together with⊠he has that. And now Inaba feels so much brighter, just because of that.
To be honest, itâs a little relatable when I put it that way. Not sure how much I want to disclose about myself, though. But man⊠I love Yosuke. I love this arc so much, dude.
#Yosuke Hanamura#Persona 4#I adore this frog#persona 4 golden#I really struggled to put together the link between boredom and isolation#itâs like obvious to me but really hard to explain#I have other ideas for analyzing him#Iâve wanted to talk about this for a while but tbh this analysis got practically spat out it was made so fast#I guess I just. really love the frog#analyzing the fog

Does anyone else ever just wish you could draw/paint?
Like, draw/paint something specific.
Obviously the most obvious one will be characters for alot of people. Who doesn't want to draw the characters in their heads??
But I mean...
Specific stuff
Like, I'd love to draw animals.
And fashion.
Also landscapes and environments.
I'd love to be able to draw something like this, with blurbs of information for the animals and monsters of KaE:
And fashion!
I just love seeing how fashion evolves throughout history and how the rich are dumb as fuck in trying to out do each other in how clumsy/annoying it is to put on cause "you can afford to spend so much time on such dumb shit"
But it's cool.
I have Infinity Nikki to help cure me of that craving of seeing/experimenting with outfits (it's like, a really chill game)
But normal day to day environment stuff
That's something I can't really fulfill as a craving, beside finding artwork of what i mean.
Found an awesome artist who scratched that itch of mine recently, and its helped me describe some scenes in KaE
Jean-Claude Golvin, French archaeologist and architect!
Look at all the cool stuff he's drawn!
Because of the above, I've taken to drawing myself.
Im no good at it, but it helps me. To anyone else, it'd look horrendous, but I can see beyond what's in the paper. Cause its in my head, i just have to place it on the paper so i can like... lock it in my head, compartmentalize writing/drawing/imagination into separate boxes, and keep the flow state going as an author.
Mehhh, i'm just in one of those moods.
Introspective of myself. Which then got me thinking about something I usually think about.
Sometimes, I think about how many great writers and artists there are with no opportunity to vent that creative urge. To flex their imagination muscles. They must be like horses or birds, born to run in the plains and fly in the sky; yet caged by their economic or living situation.
And by the time they're in a position to actually do what calls to them, they're older. With more responsibilities. A career. A family. A whole set of skills and lessons already gained and experienced.
How difficult is it to overcome that initial "but im so bad right now, it'll take me too long to develop into something good" thought?
Is it not daunting to have to "start over" in a skill?
Then there's younger people than you who are by far more skilled at the "thing" than you. Isn't that crushing?
I think it's alot like exercise. It sucks at first. Sometimes you can't even do more than 30 min a day. You think, "What's the point??"
But even if you do 30 min a day for a week, that's a total of 210 minutes for that week. Three hours and a half. That's far more than the absolute zero you would have if you did nothing.
I think you can write, draw, paint, do whatever calls to you for 30 min a day in the least. Because if you keep that up for a whole year; you'll end up with 10,920 minutes, or 182 hours, worth of experience under your belt.
Oh.
Oh shit.
I went on a rant lmao
Any hopeful creatives out there, I hope you guys take some measure of solace in my words. You're not alone. It's never too late to start. The only person you're racing with is yourself, not that other person you compare yourself to. Take your time. Just don't deny yourself!

Iâm realizing that Iâve been lowkey really critical of wakfu lately so Iâm gonna list some things that I like about it
- how every character is fleshed out really well and given their own filler episodes (at least in the first two seasons)
- the villains are all insanely well written, none of them seem truly evil as we know how they became a villain and they have mostly all been very tragic
- percedal
- the writing for the Percedal family. They literally addressed that they were giving Elely a lot more attention than Flopin and put into place his own character arc, while this could be seen as them sidelining him even more, I think itâs better than him being there and being given very little attention
- the Percedal family is so loving. Eva and dally love all their children so much and are so insanely proud of them. They also invite others into their home so easily, I mean Goultard was never really apart of the family until season 4 and they invited him in so quickly
- Goultard. Heâs mischievous and serious at the same time. Fights are a joke to him because heâs so powerful but he also never underestimates who heâs fighting. Heâs also an awesome big brother to Elely, though I wish we saw him interact with the other kids too
- kamasu-tar jr heâs adorable in the first two seasons and is like a big lazy dog in all the others
- Amalia. Sheâs a bit of a brat at first but has some really amazing character development and is a girlâs girl all the way
-Yugo. I like him better in the first two seasons when he was so whimsical and more childlike. He was snarky and fun! But heâs really cool as an adult too and I love his design
- Nora. Beautiful butch idc if itâs not canon it is to me
- DRAGONS!!!! I was so insanely happy to see dragons for the first time in wakfu, every time there was a new one Iâd go absolutely insane
- percedal
- Evangeline. Badass archer whoâs an amazing mom and doesnât really need a man but love her man anyway
- Tristeva. The best hetero couple in media you will not change my mind (though I do see it as bi for bi)
- the fact that they foreshadowed Qilbyâs betrayal from the very beginning by mentioning in season one that Grougal could see the good or bad in someoneâs soul and then making baby grougal immediately distrustful and hostile towards Qilby
- FILLER!!! This show does filler so well! It gives a character new development and makes them all seem like good friends
- how it can absolutely make me sob sometimes. I still tear up at dallyâs death (the first one)
- dallyâs cool new arm and the fact that Rubilax sacrificed his freedom and own private body so dally could live
- shushus, theyâre such a fun concept
- percedal
- Elely. Sheâs so fun and I love her so much
- the fact that they donât sideline the Percedal kids and give them their own character and arcs
- the way trauma was shown through the eliatropes goddess. I thought she would betray them at first and actually be behind the necroworld invasion, but she really was just scared and trying to escape and protect her children. She is flawed and beautiful
- the fact that so much lore is fleshed out, thereâs so much about the different species and cities and everything in that world is so different!
- in the first two season they dedicated three episodes each for fantasy football
- how the food looks in the animation
- the wha itâll switch between smooth animation and the kind of bouncy animation that it usually has
- the s1-2 dub voice actors (the new ones are good too but Iâll always love the old ones more cuz of nostalgia)
- THERES A VIDEO GAME FOR IT AND ITS FUN!!!
- percedal
I swear I love this show with all my heart and soul, but I have to recognize its faults too⊠and Iâll probably post about those a bunch, but I have so much more to love about it than complain about it
#wakfu#wakfu yugo#wakfu amalia#wakfu tristepin#wakfu evangelyne#wakfu elely#wakfu flopin#wakfu goultard#can you guys tell who my favorite character is

Hey, hold up, this isn't my usual art, since I normally draw for Star Wars, but I really wanted to do stuff for Thunderbolts after watching it twice. I want to talk about the movie. Consider this your first and only spoiler warning. If you haven't seen it, go watch it. And if you have seen it? Watch it again.

Well, I don't know what happened, but my posting schedule is gonna be completely thrown off now that I've seen Thunderbolts. I didn't really have much anticipation or excitement for seeing it (though I was curious because I had jokingly guessed the Thunderbolts would fight the Void). But then my friends invited me, so I saw it, and... I loved it so much. It hit me emotionally in ways I didn't expect. And like, this movie decided it wouldn't undercut the emotions and I'm so thrilled by that. There was a lot of emotional sincerity. I really like how they handled the character development. I didn't think I would care so much about any of the characters, but then by the end I DID.
This movie really hit the regret from past wrong that still haunts the characters (or at least Yelena), and yet the characters are trying to come to a place where they can still do some good. Like... it feels highly specific, but I LOVE that kind of redemption story. The struggle with coming to terms with what you've done, having to fight to keep going, to be a little better, to help who you can even if you stand a high chance of dying in the process. There's something that just feels so real about it. It got me in the feels.
There wasn't any spectical, no showy CGI fight to make the Thunderbolts look like awesome, cool heroes. While most of them have a degree of superpowers, its nothing like the previous Avengers. The Thunderbolts are mostly just people trying their best to help Bob who they can see is struggling too. There's no way for them to defeat the Void through traditional combat. All they can do is support Bob. Honestly, around midway through the movie, after Alexei talked to Yelena to help her feel better, I got kinda choked up when everyone was saving the people from falling debris. It felt so much more meaningful and truly heroic because these people are far closer to human. In any other movie, the focus wouldn't be on heroes trying to save as many people as they could. It'd show them looking for the next bad guy to punch. I don't know, this movie felt weirdly grounded despite Bob having the power of a thousand suns and make people relive shameful moments in their lives.
You might've noticed, but I had a lot of thoughts on this movie. I loved it. It's probably my favorite from at least the past two phases, if not in general. I still love a lot of the other MCU heroes and movies, but this movie now has a special grip on my heart as evidenced by me finally deciding to draw MCU characters for the first time. Because I've genuinely never been so interested in doing so until now.
I originally meant to draw all the Thunderbolts + Bob, but then I ran out of space on my canvas. Bob is a Labrador flat coat retriever because they come both chocolate and black, as well yellow/blond on rare occasion. When choosing a breed, it was so important to me that the breed be fluffy (like Bob's hair), but also ideally come in those three colors. For the Sentry, I have his hair slicked back (for the purposes of this au, it was bleached like the movie too), and the Void's color is just barely lighter than the line art and the hair is similarly messy/fluffy likey design for Bob. For Yelena, I wanted a smaller breed well regarded for their agility, so picked the parson Russell terrier because it was the only breed the American Kennel club mentioned that gave me any Yelena vibes (because I wasn't going to make her a papillon). And for Alexei, I wanted a very large, brawly dog, ideally from Russia, so chose the Caucasian shepherd. I'm really happy with how they all turned out. I want it on the record that Bob is the first MCU character I've ever drawn as a dog because once I had the breed and concepts in my head, I had to draw it. And I have no regrets about that.
Also, I would be fine if the MCU didn't pair them together, but I see a lot of potential for Bob x Yelena. I think they'd be really cute, and at least have way better set up before Marvel could confirm if they're dating later (unlike a few other canon couples I can think of).

Someones said this already- surely- but i cant stop thinking about ruis whole âthank you for giving me a chance to changeâ mentality
Because its super sweet and all but i dont think either him or tsukasa have realized how much tsukasa has changed because of rui
Like- read main story or even early game tsukasa and then read the most recent (eng or jp)
HES CHANGED SO MUCH and its all because rui humbled him- told him that heâd never be a starâbecause at that rate, he really wouldnt haveâin a moment of pain and hurt because tsukasa was being a bitch towards nene, and also possibly because this great opportunity rui wanted to have was turning out to be a lie
Until tsukasa changed
Realized his behavior and worked to better himself, and (lets be honest) practically begs this guy hes known for maybe 2 months (idk how long the main story takes place) to come back and make shows with him because??? Because tsukasa thinks hes just that good of a director? Or maybe its because ruis the one who made him realize his true dream again and what being a âfuture starâ really means
Not to say rui hasnt changed either, him and mizuki talk a bit about it in ena5 and he mentions it a lot,
I think the wonder halloween event might be the best example
Cus the reason i thought of this post is because i was reading tsukasa side story from that event and MAN is he cocky- like annoyingly so- idk why he was (and still is) my favorite /j
But anyway- i remembered just now that the whole plot of that event is rui learning not to hold himself back, which is a big part of his character development imo
On the other hand, ruis impact on tsukasa is less direct
Like i said its because rui first got him to realize his âtrue feelingsâ (as the game calls it), but after that its really all on tsukasaâwell not quite-
See- a big part of Tsukasaâs character development is his constant realization of- i guess âhis place in the worldâ
For me personally the phoenix edge event is a good example of him acknowledging it- but i realize it actually started way sooner
In the pop in my heart event- he realized that his acting is so far behind these american (or atleast english speaking) actors who can convey feelings through language barriers
Its his âhumblingâ arc if you will, he realizes just how far he needs to go, and its not that heâs not confident anymore, but that hes more aware of where his talents lie and isnt overconfident
And this is all stuff he learned more on his own- however: rui still helped propel this growth
He realized in the torpe event (on the stage of dazzling lights i believe-) that he had been holding tsukasa back by typecasting him, and decides to give him more diverse roles as well as let wxs do the play torpe in the first place (because as director, it was his final decision)
But after thatâand this applies to all of wxs, but mostly nene+tsukasaâhe goes and tries to figure out how to keep wxs together while still giving them the chance to grow as actors and not be confined to a stage
And he succeeds, and off wxs goes to improve!
They (and every character in game i feel) have changed and grown so much and its so awesome to see it happenâand its neat how much theyve influenced each otherâs change through it all
So yeahâ ruikasa(/p or /r idc) have helped each other grow so much and i hate them with a fiery passion /j
#rant yippeee#ive had this drafted for a couple days but i had to make sure it was coherent first lol#was gonna let it rot but someone made a comparison post of past and future and it reminded me so#heres the rant chat /j#project sekai#prsk#pjsk#rui kamishiro#tsukasa tenma#wxs#proseka#tenma tsukasa#wxs rui#wxs tsukasa#ruikasa#/p or /r idc#i ship them but also theyre so aroace lmaoo-#regardless their dynamic is neat#all of wxs is honestly- i could make a separate yap about all of them together cus emurui nenekasa /p dynamics and paralels i love#wonderlands x showtime#ive been hiding my ruikasa brainrot but i do stalk the tag hahaa- woops
