My first roleplay memory

I've told this story before but my first time really rping as an online hobby was as part of a Percy Jackson and the Olympians forum rp that was really fun for a while, but then we moved to Tumblr and it kinda fell apart. I tried joining a new group but... Yeah that was hell. I did have a lot of fun in the original group, but I'll be honest, I didn't really like PJO that much and was mostly there because my siblings were in the group, so I wouldn't say it was the best experience.

my favorite roleplay memory

Uhhh gosh I don't like playing favorites because I do have a lot of good memories, but for this time I think I'll choose when @cryptidsncurios first contacted me about writing a twin AU with our two Xigbar's. Up until Xiggs here, I had only ever written OCs so I'd never had to deal with a duplicate before, and I really, deeply appreciate that my first ever experience with one was with Screamy.

my favorite original character blog

@the-android-and-the-wielder @sanctuaryinbetweencrossroads. Neither of them are active right now, and I don't know if either will be active again anytime soon, but I have very fond memories of writing with them, drawing their characters and just chatting over discord.

why i love (or hate) this hobby

Very much the social aspect. I have made some really great friends with this hobby, but the double-edged sword is that we're all sorta socially anxious weirdos so communicating can be difficult at times. That and newer blogs don't seem to follow the same etiquette as people like me who have been around for a long time so reaching out is hard, getting interest is hard, especially if it's less popular muse or from a source that has no fandom. I especially notice when I'm trying to promote my sideblog and nobody seems to care. It's frustrating.

I'm not really in a rush to go making blogs for every single character I want to write, most of the time if there's a muse I want to write I'll throw them at someone on discord. But gotta admit, if I were not having such trouble getting interactions on @littlelilacblooming I'd definitely add Nola on as a secondary muse because I love her

Okay collective, this POC queer Texan need some help. My paycheck came in(over $300) and it still wasn’t enough to cover my medical debt I accrued. I am actively looking for another job to go with my current one, but no one has responded back to me and the end of the month is coming up and I’m hella stressed out.

If you guys can donate anything, even a dollar, that would help so so much to make sure I can keep a roof over my head and to get groceries for the week. If you can’t, spreading the word would help as well.

Syntha looks up from where she was busy tying a grey ribbon to her bear’s ear and slightly winced when the word ‘lab’ was mentioned. “Weird stuff. Something about Ancient Keyblade Wielder and a War or something. Every time I try to think about it or Superior ask me if I remember anything, my head hurts and I feel like, something is being blocked, like maybe a firewall but idk.”

For the past few weeks, Xemnas had been interrogating Syntha for any clues or hints about her past, but all he was met with was a blank look and a tilted head. The android tried bugging Vexen, but the scientist rudely brushed her off, mentioning that his work was not for kids like her and to go play with Demyx.

Syntha giggled at the head tap and shook her head. “Nope!! Well..Demyx shot some water at Larxene and nearly got me so I kinda…” here she cuts off as two red spots blink on her cheeks and she adverted her eyes. “I kinda ate the lamp cord in his room and now he has no light.” Her stuffed bear was firmly in her arms and she held him up. “He’s been my partner in crime!” she grinned

Xigbar did know know what at this lab could possibly be of interest to Xemnas or the Organization until he found a familiar face among the files he and Vexen had been sent to fetch. The file was on Syntha, which made this whole mission suddenly make a little more sense. This lab was where she had been found.

Unfortunately, Vexen would not allow Xigbar to take a closer look at the files but instead wanted to report directly back to Xemnas. So lacking any other option until Xemnas inevitably shared the information, Xigbar turned to the only other source available to him; Syntha herself.

"Hey, Lamb. You haven't been causing any trouble for the Big Boss while I wasn't looking, were you?" He tapped the top of her head.

marking my claim on every squeenix fandom i’m in by picking one niche pairing and then dying on that hill like i have nothing better to do with my time. anyways. i do think the parallelism with xigbar and demyx goes crazy regardless.

like arguably the two most lackadaisical members in the entire organization are also from some lost age of keyblade wielders. a character file has notes that demyx was looking for friends and just gloamed onto xigbar. who is, after the luxu reveal, probably the categorically “loneliest” character currently known to us. at least enough to be ambivalent towards an apocalypse.

there’s also the fact that dancer and sniper nobodies frequently spawn together in twtnw if you run around after clearing all the fights before xemnas. “the hall of empty melodies” being xigbar’s fight stage isn’t lost on me, either.

demyx hauling the replica bodies around in white shrouds almost directly mirrors luxu carrying the shrouded body of the “true dandelion” in daybreak town. “It’s a long story, but I’m sorta on your side!” versus “I hope you like long stories”. “Silence, traitor.” versus “All I’m telling you, traitor, is that your time is up”. All of the claims about nobodies having hearts, all of the total lack of Sworn Allegience to the organization and xehanort.

and it extends to their elements. demyx’s control of water is connected in the sense that the ocean itself plays a role in most kh symbolism from the jump. there’s the literal sea around destiny islands, the ideal of the beach in twilight town, the water at the edge of the realm of darkness. the “dive” to the heart is a process relating to swimming or water. it’s simulating weightlessness. it’s the capacity to suffocate.

the only other element that emulates this is space. “the ocean between worlds” is space. diving is an act of resisting gravity. it’s the weightlessness, the capacity to suffocate. nowhere is free from “space” in kh, not after the realm of light split up and created new worlds/new stars. there is no life without water, and all life exists throughout space.

of course, there’s also the fact that demyx is at least aware of the “may your heart be your guiding key” quote from someone over the course of multiple implied meetings. he’s an embodiment of the master’s “don’t intervene” order.

regardless of any desire to see these goons next to eachother, it’s at least fun to realize just how echo-y their characters are in relation to one another.

A Quick Spark to the Soul(closed to @bxttybitch)

Purple and green peered from underneath a black hood as their owner slunk through the darkened alley, soft beeps and whirs filling the silence. Synthxiser, or Syntha for short, one day found herself stranded in Pentagram city and after many failed attempts at re-connecting with Radiant Gardens, the android resigned herself to this new place. Not one to mope for long, she quickly found a place to stay and started to explore and see who she could meet.

“What’s a cutie like you doing out so late? It’s dangerous and I haven’t seen you around before.” a demon smirked and stepped towards her slowly and yanked off her hood to reveal twin lavender pigtails. “Does it matter? Not everyone has to be loud and nosy.” she lied as the demon grinned and ran his eyes over her body. “Mechanical huh~? I’m sure Valentino can find a good use for you, unless you want to be turned into scrap heap instead!”

He lunged for her and years of fighting with the Organization and during the Keyblade War had her jumping back and letting out a metal-esque scream that rattled the windows and made the demon cover his ears and drop to the ground in pain. Seeing the demon distracted, Syntha took off towards the main street before nearly tripping over a beer bottle at the entrance.
