Megacities in Helldivers 2 that are controlled by the bugs actually look more devastated and infested than the ones that are currently being invaded. Super neat.
Can't wait to see what bot-controlled megacities look like.

This latest Helldivers 2 update is really awesome. I thought the small colony town maps were the only urban environments we were going to get for a long time. I'm so happy we actually got proper cities. I love urban warfare!

Finally getting to fight alongside SEAF infantry is so nice. They're surprisingly decent at taking out enemies.

I plan to play the dark ages as part of a doom marathon, just seen your review and it seems like this game will be a blast to play ^^
In a bit unrelated note, I genuinely don't understand why some call it "reddit" or even "reddit halo", I understand that modern day doom games may not be the cup of tea for some but that's still a weird thing to say.
"Reddit" is a meaningless buzzword used by terminally online 4channers who want to look "cool" to their miserable peers for hating something popular. It's not worth trying to understand what they mean because it doesn't fucking mean anything.
The actual understandable backlash against TDA is the price and the system requirements to run it well on PC. It's a 70$, 15-hour long singleplayer only game that requires an RTX capable card in a time when lots of people are struggling. Lastly a lot of people prefer the gameplay style of Eternal or 2016 more and TDA being so dramatically different from either turns some people off.

Thoughts about Doom: The Dark Ages after finishing it:
I don't yet know if Doom: The Dark Ages is my favorite of the modern Doom games (that honor might still go to Eternal), but I had a blast playing through it. I really enjoyed the new gameplay style and more expansive levels. Secret hunting was really fun and rewarding in this game.
The beginning of the game is by far the weakest of the modern trilogy, but by the time you get to chapter 4 the game starts to rapidly pick up and it keeps getting better and better until the very end. The second half of the game is so much better than the first.
The game almost feels like I'm playing a slaughtermap for classic Doom with the sheer number of demons it throws at you. The enemy count is probably more than the previous games combined. It's a total bloodbath and it's a lot of fun.
Weapons are incredibly satisfying and punchy. The SSG is just lovely as always. I miss the meathook, but the shield charge almost makes up for its absence. It's nice being able to close the distance between enemies with any weapon out.
Bossfights were really fun and challenging. Ahzrak kicked my ass a couple times. He wasn't a complete pushover like Davoth was. He's up there with Samuel as one of the hardest bosses in Doom history. Mastering the fight felt really satisfying.
Some of the most gorgeous and interesting locations we've ever visited in a Doom game. I love the cosmic realm so much.
I need to play through the game a few more times before I decide where to rank it next to the other two games, but overall the game was a fun ride. I got to kill SOOOOOO many demons so therefore I'm happy.

The last couple of levels in Doom: TDA are visually some of the most incredible looking levels in any video game I've played. id Software's environmental artists are some of the best in the industry. They deserve a raise.

Ok, seems from that clip that you can turn off a lot of the visual indicators in the game? I saw some gameplay where they took up so much of your view and it was utterly hideous.
How are you feeling about the argument of the game pushing away from the traditional shooter gameplay too much in favor of "trying to do character-action in an fps", which people already accused Eternal of back then.
That argument is ironic because Doom: TDA feels the closest to classic Doom out of all the modern games. You can play it completely like a traditional shooter and it goes perfectly fine.

Played up to chapter 12 in Doom: The Dark Ages yesterday and so far I'm having a great time.
Funny how people were worried this game was going to be too slow.
