I once asked my 1st grade teacher if my favourite author was going to write their series until they died and she answered "no, that would be too sad." As an adult I understand that. We can't look at someone who has a profession and expect them to live and die for it. As a child though I simply loved the books and the world they created so much that I hoped for it to continue for the longest time possible and concluded that it was until they died. Children and adults certainly think and process things differently, but can we say children are wrong? I think they're just true to their emotions and their set of known truths.
