Pt: To Factives and Factual Introjects of the Body, /End Pt
Pt: Your identity does not invalidate theirs, and theirs do not invalidate yours. Their discomfort shouldn't be an excuse to ruin your well-being. Remember that. ~ Mod Reaper /End Pt
To Factives and Factual Introjects of the Body,
whether you're a factive/factual introject of the system's singletsona/cissona/humansona or just the body itself
whether you're exactly like the body and its legal identity or not
no matter your alterhuman identity, species, age, gender, disability, system roles, or lack thereof
no matter if you're the body at a certain age - past, present, or future
no matter if you're from this timeline or an alternate one
and other circumstances I haven't mentioned
You deserve to be respected and treated kindly by your own system. You shouldn't be ostracized or suppressed, even if you use the body's deadname and have its birth-sex-assignment. Even if your role is persecutor or malicitor, even if you're the inner child, even if you're not productive, or anything that "inconveniences" your headmates. Even if your existence makes the other system members uncomfortable.
Your identity does not invalidate theirs, and theirs do not invalidate yours. Their discomfort shouldn't be an excuse to ruin your well-being. Remember that.

Pt: To Fact-folks with Voluntary Fact-Identities /End Pt
Pt: ~ Mod Silhouette
To Fact-folks with Voluntary Fact-Identities
whether you chose the fact identity, or created a headmate with a fact identity, or are the created fact-folk, or any other voluntary way
whatever label you prefer: alterhuman, pluran, tulpa, thoughtform, factlink, copinglink, or something else
no matter if you use one label or more
no matter if you use the label/s consistently or change it often
no matter if your identity is static or fluid
no matter what your shifts look like; why and when they happen
whether it's from an neurotype (including delusion), interest, hyperfixation, spirituality, religion, education, trauma, coping, alterhumanity, or any other reason
whether you're sure if it's fully voluntary/chosen or not
We think it's fantastic that you want to get to know yourself deeper, and use your time in the world to create yourself. To be this identity, to say "no, screw society, I choose who I want to be", or "This encourages me to do self-introspection", or "this gives me euphoria and peace of mind", even simply, "I want this".
You don't deserve to be treated as the "weak link" of the parts of the alterhuman community (or even non-alterhumans) who only respect those who can't choose their identities. Your identity isn't lesser than others' if you choose it, even if you can choose to not have it anymore.
Voluntary/chosen identities are not inherently "frivolous" or "childish". You are allowed to have fun with it, or take it very seriously, or both, or anything in between. And none of it will invalidate your identity.
If you or the body are neurodivergent, Mad, mentally ill, or have any other disability or difference from the norm; even if your identity is based on/caused by those things, it does not invalidate your identity either! Yes, including psychosis or delusion-based identities. It does not make you fake or lesser. It does not make you worthy of disrespect.
Your experiences are real and important, and your voices deserve to be heard.
If you want to seek euphoria for your fact identity - be it via changing appearance, changing your online or offline spaces, gear, watching/reading/listening to media, etc. - it's valid and you can be proud of yourselves for being yourselves in a world that doesn't accept you. Even if that euphoria is sought by means that make others uncomfortable. You are people with unique life experiences. People who deserve respect and kindness.
Fact-folks who choose their identities, remember that we support you all very much!
(We accept submissions, asks, mentions, or DMs about your voluntary fact-identity experiences here in Fact-Anonymous if you'd like to share them!)

PT: To Fact-folks of objects, places, and buildings, /End PT
Pt: But if you do have to hide your object/building/place fact-identity, or feel bad about it, it's valid and okay. It doesn't invalidate your identity. And there is no judgment in staying safe, especially in an environment where you don't know if others will be accepting. ~ Mod Silhouette /End Pt
To Fact-folks of objects, places, and buildings,
for example, someone relating to Mt. Krakatau could be Mt. Krakatau-hearted; someone who is spiritually connected to their shrine can be a shrine-kin; someone who feels like their school is a part of them could be [name of school]-alterhuman; someone who's objectum with their laptop and wants to be them or creates them in their system; and so on!
whether it's your own possession, or not
no matter how famous or niche the place/building/object is
no matter if it's natural, man-made, or anything else
no matter your fact identity type (factive, factkin, factlink, facthearted, fact endel, fact DA, factchain, faitive, fucktive, a combination, somewhere in between, or anything else)
no matter if it's static or fluid
no matter what other labels you prefer (nonhuman, otherkin, objectkin, concept, alterhuman, plural, soulbond, etc.)
whether your label/s change or not
whether it's from an neurotype (including delusion), interest, hyperfixation, spirituality, religion, education, trauma, coping, alterhumanity, or any other reason
You are real, and so is your identity. Being these may be niche, but you are not alone - I bet there are others like you, even if they aren't out.
The niche-ness of your identity may make it difficult for people to discover and/or create yourselves, but that doesn't make it lesser or not worth talking about. You are an expert of your own experiences, and you are all important voices for the alterhuman community.
If this identity is something you discovered, we're proud of you for knowing yourselves more. If it is something you chose, we're proud of you for owning and creating yourself in what makes you more you. If you seek euphoria, we support you. No matter what it takes - gear, traveling, divination, playlists, aesthetics, even surgery and other things - we hope it will bring you much joy.
If you or the body are neurodivergent, Mad, mentally ill, or have any other disability or difference from the norm; even if your identity is based on/caused by those things, it does not invalidate your identity. Yes, including psychosis or delusion-based identities. It does not make you fake or lesser. It does not make you worthy of disrespect.
You deserve to be accepted and respected, to have good-faith questions directed at you, instead of being made fun of, dismissed, or abused. You should be able to join communities, make friends, and share your life experiences. You shouldn't have to hide your identity or make it more "palatable".
But if you do have to hide your object/building/place fact-identity, or feel bad about it, it's valid and okay. It doesn't invalidate your identity. And there is no judgment in staying safe, especially in an environment where you don't know if others will be accepting.
(We in Fact-Anonymous would be happy to listen to you - you could mention us, DM us, or send your experiences through our ask/submission box!)

PT: Something I Love About Being Factkin /End PT
Something I Love About Being Factkin
I often get asked what the hardest part of being factkin is and while it can be hard to have an identity so often misunderstood I would like to stress how much I love being factkin. I love being myself and I love being otherkin and factkin.
My favourite part of being factkin is probably the special connection I feel to my kintypes. The little jolt of “hey, that’s me!” I get when my facttypes get brought up or when I hear myself on the radio is often enough to absolutely make my day. The week we spent studying my work in my philosophy class was one of the most thrilling weeks I’d had in a long time.
I love how all it takes to put a smile on my face is to turn on the radio and hear my facttype’s voice. I love how emotional I get studying my historical facttypes while preparing for exams. I love looking at my bookshelf and seeing volumes of my facttype’s work.
They say we can learn from out past/other lives and I absolutely believe it. I find meaning and joy in so many mundane things because of my alterhuman identities and I wouldn’t trade that feeling for the world.

Pt: You don't deserve to be abused for just existing, or for your role or fact-identity or source. Not by your own system and not by society. Especially before they get to know you and see your behavior. And if you are, know that you do not deserve it. ~ Mod Reaper /End Pt
To you, Persecutors and Malicitors who are Fact-folks, you deserve respect
Persecutors and Malicitors who are factives, factual introjects, factkin/factualkins, fact DAs, fact endels, factchains, facthearted/synpaths, factlinks, and others I haven't mentioned, deserve respect. Yes, including those who have these roles that others often judge without knowing the person.
Fact-identified malicitors and persecutors deserve to live with dignity, to not be ostracized by their headmates/systemmates/alters/collective/etc. or be called these terms without your consent. Your identity should be respected, not forced to convert into a more respectable one against your will,
whether you choose your fact-identity or you've had it all the time
if your identity can't be boxed into voluntary or involuntary
whether it's partially based on someone you know or someone you don't
whether your source is an abuser
whether your source is someone (in)famous
or a combination of that, or anything else
if you're partially a fiction-folk, divine-folk, nonhuman, and more
no matter what your origins are - soulbonding, plural from birth, created, from trauma, walk-in, others - or even if you don't want to know about your origins
no matter if your plurality is disordered or not, diagnosed or not
no matter what disabilities you have or don't have
even if you're not a protector or a more "nurturing" role, "misguided" or otherwise
no matter your level of "cooperativeness" with your system
no matter if and/or how you want to change
You don't deserve to be abused for just existing, or for your role or fact-identity or source. Not by your own system and not by society. Especially before they get to know you and see your behavior. And if you are, know that you do not deserve it.
You don't have to have a "nurturing" role to deserve kindness.

PT: To Divine-Folks and Religious Figures who consider themselves Fact-folks /End PT
Pt: ~ Mod Reaper & Mod Silhouette /End PT
To Divine-Folks and Religious Figures who consider themselves Fact-folks
and by that, I mean mythtives, mythkin, divinekin, god kin, prophet kin, demon kin, angel kin, etc., who consider themselves factkin, factive, factlink, facthearted, fact DA, fact endel, and others I haven't mentioned,
whether you're Jesus Christ or Vishnu or anyone else of any religion
no matter if the religion is mainstream or not, including in-system religions, and fiction-folks religions (for example, beings who are from fiction like horrorterrors from Homestuck, or fictional interpretations of a religion like Poseidon from Epic the Musical)
whether you've known this identity for years or just found out now
no matter what you feel about it
no matter if it's static or fluid
even if your identity or its shifts have metaphysical explanations that can't be understood by others
no matter if it's your own spiritual belief or a psychological resonance (including delusion), or if it's someone else's
or if you're possessing the body due to other systemmates worshipping/godspousing you
whether you have a neurodivergence or not
no matter how you came to be - if it's because of education, special interest, trauma, or otherwise
no matter how your systemmates and the alterhuman community treats you
and other things I've missed
Your identity is not inherently harmful. Your existence is not disrespectful towards adherents of that religion in this world. You should allowed to use your name and talk about your experiences. You don't deserve to be banned from servers for being and expressing yourselves.
You're not fake for changing as a person while living in this new body, you're not less of your identity if you need to (re)learn it here. Even if you can't ask for worship or being exalted, you are still allowed to want it. Or feel complicated about the religion you come from. Or have exomemories and exotrauma. Feelings, memories or memory loss, and traumas have no inherent morality.
You deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. Even by atheists, agnostics, and non-worshippers.
(We in Fact-Anonymous would be happy to listen to your religious, spiritual, etc. fact-identities - you could mention us, DM us, or send your experiences through our ask and submissions!)

PT: Fact-folks, you are not harming your source by writing RPF (Real Person Fiction) of yourselves and your sourcemates. /End PT
PT: Fact-folks meaning: factives, factual introjects, factkin/factualkins, fact DAs, fact endels, factchains, facthearted/synpaths, factlinks, and others I haven't mentioned, Yes, (general we) we know that public figures are often uncomfortable with RPF. That is why RPF writers, whether or not they have a fact-identity, should not show it to them directly. But writing it in the peace of your own devices or books? Posting it to AO3 or not at all? That's not hurting them. It's also not "causing alterhumans to be invalidated" or "reducing real people into fiction". Biopic writers, biographers, gossip tabloids, etc. do it all the time, sometimes full of misinformation, even, and they have a much wider reach than fanfic-style RPF. It's okay to write down your own experiences and/or (exo)memories in narrative form, even if it seems like fiction to others, even if others can't accept it. Hi! Question for the Minis: do y'all ever change based on what the constellation learns about your Bigs, or do you remain primarily sourced from whatever knowledge was there when you formed?
(Ex: if someone revealed they liked ice cream, which was unknown before, is there a chance the corresponding Mini would gain that trait?)
I apologize if this isn't worded the best.
We've had that happen before, though it's not a guarantee.
We're honestly not sure how much of it is new information on source gained, and that's why the matching happens (similar to when a new season comes out for a fictives source, and they suddenly get more exomemories), or if it's a case of due to how hard it is for us to know things about ourself at front (lots of info barriers between back and front) we just start considering it for the first time and end up with the same conclusion. Or it allows us to "unlock" the info, that was already pre-established away from front.
I know one time when some of our minis were chatting with two different source systems who are dating, we got asked if when we find out about a relationship between two (or more) of their members, that suddenly happens here to match. I think the answer we gave was along the lines of it doesn't necessarily automatically happen, but we might gain the knowledge of it already being an established thing here, and if not there's a good chance we'll consider it ourselves.
But we know there's also been several times where we learned something and the members gone "well that's definitely not true anymore". It's always kinda fun to see what ends up matching and what doesn't, and what changes to match too.
Thanks for the ask!

Sourced Identities without a Confirmed Source, Pt 1: How does it work?
PT: Sourced Identities without a Confirmed Source, Pt 1: How does it work?
First off, what's a sourced identity?
A source, in the alterhuman community (yes plural is included in this!), refers to the media, entity, or location that ones identity is gained from. Commonly, this is involuntarily and leaves someone identifying as their source. But it's by no means exclusive to that. People can pick up sources because they want to, naturally pick them up over time, drop them (again, by choice or because it just happens), have something like a hearttype that leaves them identifying with it instead of as, and probably a lot more experiences than what's covered here.
So, how can you have a source without knowing what it is?
This is actually a really good question! It makes sense that a majority of the time a source is something someone is familiar with. It's a lot easier to get an identity from something you know about. But having an identity without knowing what your source is is nowhere near a new experience in the alterhuman community. I'll be honest, I haven't gone digging through piles of experiences to date sources. But I don't think I really need to, because examples are all over.
Let's look at therianthropy to start. Since it seems to be one of the most common parts of the alterhuman community, and I'm willing to bet most folks here at least have a general idea about it. Most therians don't consider their types sources from what we have seen. But that doesn't mean experiences aren't similar. It's not uncommon that when talking about experiences that you'll hear someone who never felt human, but for a good while didn't know what they were. They just knew they were *something*. Not knowing what they were doesn't make that experience unreal, or suddenly start happening once they do find out what they are. It's just unnamed, and unknown. I think you can see what I'm getting at here.
Let's take another example, this time from the plural community. Brainmade headmates, for anyone not familiar with the concept, are headmates that don't have a source. Yes I'm again drawing from a term that doesn't typically have source ties, bear with me. Not having a source doesn't mean these headmates can't have exomemories, memories not tied to what the body has been through. Exomemories are most common in folks that do have a source, but aren't exclusive. Point here is, brainmade headmates, depending on the specific headmate, can remember a life before the system. Even if they didn't come from anywhere. Not being from somewhere doesn't make those experiences any less real either. Just a different way to exist.
One more example, I swear. This time, I want to look at those who *do* have a source, but either their system has barely or ever interacted with the source (a surprisingly common occurrence we've noticed), or those with types from things they've barely or haven't interacted with their source. This is really similar to what we're talking about actually! Just in this case, the source is something the individual(s) know exists. They just haven't interacted much or at all with it themselves. Think of a really popular movie you just haven't gotten around to seeing, or a video game your friend is obsessed with, and you've only heard about it from them, haven't played it yourself. There's a few points I could pull from this, but the main thing is that it's not actually that uncommon to not know a lot about something to know that's where you're from. A lot of alterhumans don't know every single part of their identity, even when knowing their source. With people having from anywhere from a lot of knowledge to "yeah idk man that's just *me*", knowledge on ones source obviously isn't a qualifier for having the source. It's more the knowledge of who you are and dots you can connect from that.
Okay, I've talked about this a lot, probably time I actually answer the question. So, how can you have a source without knowing what it is? Well, we've established that you can be something without knowing what it is, which is a major part, and that knowledge of source isn't what allows you to have a source. I can't speak for others, and I'm sure their "how" is different, but from our system it's always been just an innate and inherent knowledge that you're from somewhere. You're based on someone. There is just that knowledge there, often more of an innate knowledge than our names honestly. It tends to be one of the few things we're sure about when joining the system. And it lines up with the same feeling our introjects that *do* know their source have towards their source. There's not really a difference. We just know it, because we know ourself. And we think that lived experiences are real enough to accept as reason enough.
But why say you have a source if you don't know it?
Well, for us at least, it feels wrong not to. It's like one of our nonhuman members saying they're human. It just isn't true, even if we can't exactly "prove" it to those outside our system. Aside from that, it's helped us find community and those like us. Both in relating to other folks that have sources, and those who, like us, have a source they don't know. That part of the community isn't very big, we've only met a few others like us, but then again that's more than some of our members met than those with some not extremely niche genders. And it's nice to be able to talk to folks like us, to share experiences, just not be alone. And ultimately, that should be the goal of most labels. To give someone a way to explain themselves, and as a way to meet others who get it. Trying to decide who's "enough" of something to count ultimately has no benefit, and often ends up hurting the people it aims to 'protect'.
Alright, I think I've rambled enough. I was planning to go into my experiences personally, some benefits, some downfalls, but this post is already pretty long. So I'll likely make another one at some point, and I'll be sure to link it back here when I do. Until then, if you have any questions, feel free to send them in! We'd love to help explain things further if needed.

Happy birthday to me I guess? Anyways, I'll try to get some posts queue'd up shortly so this blog doesn't get completely abandoned.

Pasted from under the cut in case of any deactivation or the like, as we feel it is a helpful explanation to be able to share. Anything below here is from under the cut, not to be attributed to us.
First of all, I'd like to talk about your first statement. "the idea of someone being kin with me just makes me feel very uncomfortable." You are allowed to feel uncomfortable! Your feelings are valid and discomfort is an entirely neutral feeling. It is even *good* to feel uncomfortable sometimes because when you feel uncomfortable you are given a chance to question why.
I applaud you for not allowing your discomfort to interfere with the way you treat people. It is a very mature thing to say "this makes me uncomfortable but live and let live." The good news is, you will likely never have to worry about someone being you-kin! "Why do I only see factkin of famous people?" is a VERY common question and it has a pretty simple answer: survivorship bias.
Take, for example, a wolf therian. Wolves are a very well-known animal and there are lots of ways to know you feel like a wolf that the average person would just already know. Now, take a Vulturine Guineafowl. You might be asking "wtf is a Vulturine Guineafowl?" There are almost certainly more awakened wolf therians than there are Vulturine Guineafowl therians out there. Why? Because when you know something very well and have an awareness of the thing it becomes much easier to know if you are it or if you are not it. More people have an awareness of John Lennon than of John who lives down the road. Therefore, more people will identify as John Lennon than will identify as John who lives down the road.
(Side note!! Factkin are NOT by any means always celebrities! I have met people who factkin their pets. I have met people who factkin unknown people depicted in drawings from the middle ages. You just see celebrities more for the reason above.)
How do factkin work? The same as any other type of otherkin! I used therians in my first example, so I will use fictionkin for this one. Some fictionkin believe they were their kintypes in a past life. Some fictionkin, even those who died in canon, believe they are their kintype right now in a parallel life. Some fictionkin identify as fictionkin for entirely non-spiritual reasons. In the same vein, some factkin identify as their kintypes because they believe they were them in a past life. Some identify as them for completely separate reasons.
The "why" of being otherkin is as varied as any other aspect of the otherkin experience and that rings true for *any* kind of otherkinity.
I speak best when speaking from my own experience so I'm very grateful you've given me a chance to. I am a spiritual otherkin and I believe that my kintypes come from parallel lives. To make it simple: I believe there are infinite universes with infinite possibilities and that the mes some of those universes are connected to the me in this one.
I believe that in a parallel life I am René Descartes. I am Eminem. I am Peter III of Aragon, and I identify as them in this life because I feel like them the same way I feel like a wolf or a goat (some of my other kintypes.) It feels right to be called by their names. Sometimes, I have dreams or just nagging funny feelings that I count as memories. I have laughed out loud in history classes before because of the way my professor talked about Caesarion. Likewise I have had my stomach turn while listening to people eviscerate Edgar Allan Poe. I miss my wife, Constance II of Sicily, every time I see a picture of her, and I feel embarrassed when I listen to some of Eminem's latest songs.
I can't give any sort of empirical proof for this belief; I study philosophy so that I can learn what that proof might even look like, so for now all I can tell you is how I feel. I am very much open to talking more about this.
I hope this helped! I know it was long. Thank you for your question as it means a lot to me to hear from factkin-skeptical folks. Thank you for reading. Have a nice week!
If you like my blog, consider doing a daily click for Palestine!
okay so i'm more neutral for factkin. i don't fully understand it, and honestly it just feels kinda... creepy? to me?
the idea of someone being kin with me just makes me feel very uncomfortable. but i understand that factkin is involuntary, just like fiction and alterhuman as a whole, so i certainly dont go around harassing them and shi.
but i'd like to understand factkin more. why do i only see factkin of famous people? how does factkin work? do you believe you were this person in a past life, or do you believe you are them right now?
and if you dont mind, can you explain your own experience?
Hello! Thank you for your patience. I wanted to answer this thoughtfully so it took several days.
This is a really *really* good question with a lot of layers so I'm gonna tackle it in stages! This got long so I put it under a cut.

PT: "we love all alterhumans and are accepting of all" and "factkin dni" are mutually exclusive. Pick one and don't be mad at me when I call you a bigot for picking the latter. fucking stop invalidating people's experiences for god's sake This goes for any other fact ID too by the way 🩷 you matter /End PT
Being factkin is feeling like you're invalid for existing
Why is it that others feel it necessary to put us in their DNI, to exclude us from the otherkin community, to punish us for something that, truth be told, most of us can't control. If not all
I did not choose to feel this way. If I could, I'd choose to be my own person, someone who doesn't lament the death of my friends, my family, everything I knew. Not even the country I lived in exists anymore. I grieve these things just as much as fictionkin, for example, grieve losing the things they had in source.
I'm tired of chasing for things that have been long gone, tired of feeling like my body doesn't belong to me. Just as everyone is. And yet they tell us we're creeps, we're identity thieves. As if we had a choice. As if we woke up one day and thought, "wow! I shall now pretend to be this long dead man from history who no one remembers and no one cares about," "I may now pretend to be this YouTuber I am deeply attached to", etc.
It's not a choice. It's not play pretend. We're just as serious as any other kintypes and I'm tired, I'm tired of having people talk down to me for it

Reminder that telling a headmate to change an aspect of their identity or self to be "less problematic" is dehumanising as fuck. You can't go around doing that shit. It's entirely a you issue if you can't handle a headmate having an identity, they're not responsible for your issues or required to morph themselves into something you can swallow. Fictives, factives, people with number names, nonhumans who are "scary", headmates who are queer while the body isn't, headmates who are queer in a different way to the body, disabled headmates, etc.
You can't tell a singlet to change their entire name because you think it's problematic. You can't tell a singlet to hide their gender or sexuality because it "doesn't match" their body. You can't tell a singlet to change or hide their entire damn identity because you don't like it. You can't tell a singlet to stop having days where they experience disordered symptoms.
If the headmate in question is acting respectful, treat them with some god damn respect. It doesn't MATTER if they "match" the body. They're just as much of a person as any singlet is. You cannot convert someone into being something they're not.

shout out to plurals who’s frequent fronters change all the time.
shout out to alters who are afraid of not fronting all the time, either because theyre so use to it or they’re afraid they wont get to front again.
shout out to systems who wish they had a more consistent rotation of fronters and wish it wasn’t so come and go with system members.
shout out to alters who like fronting.
shout out to members who get frontstuck regularly.
and shout out to systems trying to find a middle ground between being front stuck and having completely inconsistent fronters.

pt: the experience of being a factive and a factive heavy system is that you're left out of a lot of plural community things. alterhuman community things too. sys/kin help blogs don't really have anything for me, because i can't request stumboards or userboxes or anything based on my source. i get why, but it still hurts. positivity and conversions about introjects and sources are almost always about fictives. once it's about factives, it's treated with taboo for some reason. i see "i hope we don't splits a factive" so much. i can't even exist in the kin community because of how much visceral hate there seems to be of factkin. so many experiences of fictionfolk apply to factfolk but we're expected to not talk about our identities at all. because it's weird or "stealing someone else's identity" when i had no choice in the matter. /End pt

i've vented about this before but i'm doing it again even though i sound like a broken record. im just tired of being subtly excluded. im tired of feeling constant shame about my existence.
