After Liberace died in 1987, his ornate and lavishly designed mansion in Las Vegas was sold and later foreclosed and abandoned. During this time its marble floored rooms remained empty, the fireplaces were dusted in soot, the remains of fires from long talks and nights filled with emotions. Today, the mansion is no longer abandoned but a true to its idol masterpiece and event center. However, let us remember the days where we were as empty as its halls once were.

Much of the Villa Giulini lies in ruin because in 1755 the nearby river flooded and destroyed some of the home. It even covered the entire garden in 3 feet of alluvium overnight. At this Count Giulini left the residence and took up elsewhere, in Gravesend, leaving the villa behind. It was thereafter used as a barn and warehouse for some time with it then being robbed of its many decorations, paintings, furniture and even doors that were left behind.

Hey guys! We have decided to start a Patreon to help offset the costs of running a website :) Although it is a labor of love the expenses include ssl, web hosting, domain name, a few other things and of course the time spent in finding and writing about each and every place on www.abandonedplaygrounds.com
We have decided against Google Adsense and have gone towards a less invasive ad approach using just amazon affiliate links on things that relate.
With your help, we can reach our goal of becoming the largest world wide database of abandoned places.
