Hi, me again! I don’t know if you’ve ever seen Steven Universe but I’ve just this second realised that the end credits song (Love Like You) is soooo Sonadow coded and I had to share it with someone! It could definitely be from Shadow’s POV and I’ve made myself emotional thinking about it.

YOOOOOOOO yes I literally have it on my Sonadow playlist and I'm aaaaaalways thinking about it as a sonadow song HAHA

I see it as half Shadow's POV, half Sonic's 🤔 because I think they both feel a little bit That Way sometimes

Hi I’ve come to tap in your inbox again about your acrobat animatic because I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I saw it the other day!

All the expressions on their faces are absolutely wonderful, I really felt Shadow’s regret and sadness in his face. The face when the memory of Maria disappears and he looks so vulnerable? Chef’s kiss! The moment where he takes a breath before stepping out! Perfect! Also that brief distress when Sonic pulls away at the end before he catches on has my heart.

Sonic’s face on ‘I don’t fear you’ at the start gives me so much joy! His little wobble (and Shadow’s subsequent concern) but the cocky grin! I promise every face and motion is perfect, however this is my favourite…

The pose is lovely! And the animation for this whole little spinny move is fab, but his face makes me chuckle so much every time (believe me when I tell you I have watched this no less than 10 times and also now I love this song?).

I wish I had a bigger platform to share this on so more Sonadow fans could see it.

Also! The AU idea hasn’t left my brain and I hope it would be ok with your sibling if I started writing a little fic? I would credit you and them ofc, but no worries if not!

I just wanted to say the biggest thank you for this message, honestly I've read it so many times because it's just so nice 😭 the fact that you've taken the time to point out the parts that you love is just incredible!!

I'm so glad you enjoy the expressions--I really wanted to try and convey that Sonic was frustrated and maybe even a little desperate to get Shadow to join him, but ultimately never thought it would work, and is lacing that with his usual easygoing cockiness... Not sure if that was communicated but that's what was in my head 😂 but of course I had to leave some silly expressions/poses in there as well!

I put my whole soul into Shadow's expressions as well HAHA

Anyway your love for my little animation means so much to me so thank you 💜💜💜💜💜

My sib @beasrai has said a) totally fine to write a fic based on the circus/acrobat au! And b) they are going to start publishing their fic soon, I'll be sure to share it when the first few chapters go up ;p I've read the first few chapters (sibling privileges) and it is GOOD so I'm excited for when it goes up. Also hopefully she'll write more soon because I wanna read it hahaha

Also, I became a "top listener" of The Struts because I was listening to the song on loop every evening for 6 weeks while making the vid 😂 somehow I'm not even sick of it! It's suuuuch a good song

Let me preface this by saying I am not an animator. I’ve done a couple of like >5s animations before for fun, but this was a WHOLE different beast. I know most of it is really an animatic, but there are some parts where I was doing frame by frame animation (albeit a low fps). I bought Procreate Dreams and learnt A LOT!

Anyway, the story…

This is based LOOSELY on a not-yet-published au (not my au) in which Sonic and Shadow are aerial acrobats. I kind of diverged from that story and made up my own just for this song, but it’s based on that AU (or what I knew of it at the time I started this!)

Sonic is a reckless, self-taught acrobat with no regard for the rules or his own safety. Shadow is a disciplined and academy-trained, but woefully retired, acrobat who left that world behind after Maria’s accident. In this song, Sonic is begging Shadow to join him on the rope. It shocks everyone, Sonic included, when Shadow finally relents and steps onto that rope for the first time in years to perform with him.

I'm screaming I finished the animation it took me like 6 weeks but it's done all 2 mins 40 seconds !! I just need to add titles/credits and then I can post TOMORROW!!!!

Doing the boards for this animation is so funny because I'll have like a detailed close-up followed by 6 Very Vague Poses where it's basically just a line of action
