I am verrry close to reaching 300 followers, so to celebrate, I’m going to write 300 word drabbles for anyone who sends me an ask!

These are gonna be a little different than last time, in that I want to try to write out micro tropes with these.

So if you have an idea, send me an ask with 1) the Zelink you want me to write for and 2) a microtrope or a 1-3 word prompt that you want to see attached to them!

Microtrope examples: only one bed, accidental touch, love at first sight, forehead kisses, glancing down at the lips, accidental love confessions, knife held to the throat, etc etc

✨A Link to the Stars Chapter 24✨

It took everything in Link not to pull the gem from his pocket and shake it vigorously until it spoke to him. Ruto said the sword he discovered on the moon was his sword. But…it wasn’t, right? That sword was currently trapped between two obsidian statues. The only way he would possibly be able to get it in his hand would be to bring an entire construction team to the moon and jackhammer the thing out. The sword would probably be damaged, and then what would he be able to do with it?

Little fanfic things that make me smile:

When there’s a set of specific and intricate detail work and you just know the author is either drawing from life experience and knowledge, or that they spent a long time researching to get it just right.

A reframing of a well known metaphor or simile that makes you think of it in a new way. 

An original metaphor or simile that you pause and admire for a while because it’s such a sweet turn of phrase.

Dialogue that you can hear perfectly because the phrasing is so on point. 

The obvious love and care the author has for the character dynamics, plot and/or setting that shines through in every word, sentence and paragraph.

Hi everyone, I’ve gotten a couple of asks along the same vein because I am open about my faith as a Christian and I wanted to make a short(ish) post explaining my faith a little bit instead of responding individually.

First of all, my blogs are meant to be about writing/fanfiction/Legend of Zelda and not a platform for me to express religious or political views. I want a place to share my creations and enjoy community with others in that same space, and I recognize that not everyone wants to hear about Christianity when they’re following a Zelda blog.

That being said, I won’t shy away from the fact that I am saved by grace through faith, because that is at the foundation of my identity. I will not hide that side of me, because it is only through the grace and blessings of God that I’ve been able to create as I have and share those creations with all of you.

And I also want to express that my faith expressly states that we followers of Christ are meant to openly love and accept all types of people, especially those who face marginalization and discrimination. The thing that unites us is that we have ALL sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that we ALL have the opportunity to receive the salvation of Christ.

Therefore, you will find no hate or animosity from me no matter your background or your beliefs. Christ has asked us to extend love to everyone, and I am prepared to do that no matter what.

This will probably be the most I will say on the matter, because as I said earlier, these are fandom blogs meant to provide creative works to a community, not a soap box. If anyone has any questions or would like to talk to me one-on-one, my DMs are open and I’d be happy to talk more about why my faith is important to me.

11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

Obviously Zelink is the biggest portion of my writing, and my biggest motivation for writing fan fiction. I think a lot of that stems from the fact that these are video game characters, so people can have their own ideas of what kind of personality Link has especially. There is just such good versatility there because everyone plays the game differently and everyone has a different idea of how these two characters interact and get together. Plus the story is just rife with angst and possibilities for tropes and I just love it

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

I actually am not sure! I usually stick with my favorite tropes. I think that the arranged marriage trope has grown on me a lot lately, I never disliked it but it wasn't necessarily my favorite. Now it's definitely in my top ten!

Wilha turns her nose up at him and traces her eyes across the three remaining contestants. “Why are you picking on me?”

Keir stretches his long legs out and rests his feet on the coffee table, one ankle crossed over the other. Wilha elects not to mention the plate he nearly knocks to the floor. “Picking on you?” he says, his voice a mockery of concern. “Is that what you think I’m doing?”

Wilha decides she doesn’t like Keir, not one bit. And she resents the fact that her skin tingles on the side of her body closest to him. “What do you think you’re doing, then?”

“Just scoping out the competition.”

Wilha laughs, a harsh sounds that carries no joy. Her chin tilts away from him, and she resolves to ignore him.

PSA: Writing a book can take a looooong time. If you've been working on your project for a year, two years, five years... you're not doing anything wrong. If you've written three drafts and thrown them all away, if you can only write a hundred words a day, if you put your book down for six months and pick it up again only to be baffled by what you've written... Congratulations. You're not inefficient or slow. You're just a writer. Welcome to the writing life.
